South Auckland
South Auckland is known for its strong cultural diversity, creativity and community spirit. It is a place of great tradition and strength, and is well placed for people wanting to head out into the more rural parts of Auckland, or head south into Waikato and beyond.

You can be sure your house and pets are in great, trustworthy hands with a police constable (Shannon) and a self employed graphic designer (Karen). We love exploring different parts of New Zealand and love animals so would welcome the opportunity to look after your house and pets. We are both non smokers, in our 40s and don't have children so have a lot of flexibility to travel when we choose. We are experienced cat owners to 2 pampered pets but also love dogs and would love to look after those as well.

Hi, my name is Danielle. I am an early 30's small business owner based in Papakura. I run my own outdoor fitness business which allows me to have a lot of flexibility with my days. I coach mornings and evenings but WFH during the day so will be able to keep your pets company. I want to save for a home deposit so thought I would give house-sitting a go! I grew up with pets and miss having them in my life. I have experience with raising both cats and dogs of various different breeds. So look forward to being responsible for some again. I am very active. Aside from my fitness business, I train 4-5x a week. I am a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I am also keen to meet new people and connect with others living in the Auckland area. I am responsible, reliable and always act with integrity. I will respect your rules and do my best to keep your home tidy and pets well looked after. I enjoy honesty and transparency so if something isn't right, I prefer to know so I have an opportunity to correct it. This applies to all aspects of my life. I look forward to meeting you soon.

Hello, homeowners! We are Shane and Nicky, a professional couple with a passion for travel, animals, and the great outdoors. Our love for exploration and a desire to immerse ourselves in new environments has led us to house sitting, a unique opportunity that allows us to combine our love for animals with our adventurous spirit. We are both athletic, enjoying outdoor activities such as walking and beach trips. This active lifestyle ensures that any pets under our care will receive plenty of exercise and outdoor time. But rest assured, we also appreciate the quieter moments, perfect for cuddling up with a purring cat or a sleepy dog. Our experience in house and pet sitting is extensive, having been the trusted choice for friends and family over the years. Shane was raised in a home with dogs, understanding their needs and behaviour, while Nicky grew up with cats and has a deep appreciation for their independent yet affectionate nature. Nicky also works in a dog-friendly office, often taking care of office dogs when their owners are busy, further enhancing her skills in pet care. Choosing us as your house sitters means entrusting your home and beloved pets to a responsible and caring couple. We promise that your pets will be showered with love and attention, their routines maintained, and their needs met with the utmost dedication. Your home will be treated with respect, kept clean, secure, and well-maintained in your absence. We understand that leaving your home and pets can be a stressful experience, and we are committed to providing peace of mind through regular updates and open communication. With us, you can enjoy your time away, knowing that everything is in capable and caring hands. We look forward to the opportunity to care for your home and pets, providing them with love and attention while ensuring you return to a home just as you left it, if not better!

Hi There Our family embraces a pet-friendly lifestyle, enjoying walks, playtime, and companionship with furry friends balancing work responsibilities. With a track record of owning and caring for multiple properties over two decades, we embody trustworthiness and a relaxed demeanor. During the years we cared for a variety of pets, including goldfish, hamsters, cats, and dogs, fostering a deep understanding of pet care through feeding, play, and affection. Bernadette and I take pride in maintaining a clean living environment and tending to the garden as and when needed. When house sitting during our travels and remote work in New Zealand, we extend the same level of respect and care to others’ homes as we would to our own. Our flexibility in our career stage allows us the freedom to dedicate our time and attention to ensuring that your home and beloved pets receive the care and affection they deserve. Your instructions will be followed regarding the care for your fury friends and the care of your home. Our children are aged 15,14 and 9, they have had their own pets over the years while growing up. They are also responsible, clean and tidy, while they enjoy swimming, reading and walking they also enjoy playing computer games when the weather isn't that great. You can trust us to provide a reliable and nurturing environment while you’re away and you can relax knowing that your house and pets are well looked after. We look forward to hearing from you and looking well after your “home sweet home”. Wayne and Bernadette

I am a young and active senior who retired at Christmas 2021, I had worked with Ontario's largest Children's Mental Health Agency for 18 years. I am a non smoker and tea total (well coffee addict). I arrived in back NZ early 2022 after spending 19 years in Canada. My husband passed away in 2021. Quite the battle to get into MIQ to return home, with the lotto draw they installed !!! I am currently living with my son and daughter in law, and it would be nice to spend time away on the odd occasion. I house sat before leaving for Canada in Omokoroa and Mount Maunganui. One was an Avocado Orchard and they had 70 Parrots in aviaries on the property, such fun. I have been the proud owner of 5 rescue Old English Sheepdogs.. not all at the same time !!!! so I know about grooming. My last dog Boomer was 116lbs, (52.5kg) a big strong boy and the light of our lives. In 2020 we started to foster dogs brought up from Texas from the "high kill" pounds. Copper was our first, A Walker Coon Hound... never heard of them before and what a delight with his howl. I will leave your home as you left it though I do enjoy gardening and cleaning windows... My hobbies are reading, walking, knitting and TV..... I am a friendly person. get on with most people, I am the listener not the talker... I grew up in UK, came to NZ and then followed my son to Canada. Just went for a holiday and met my husband, tore up my ticket and stayed put....... I consider NZ home..... Recently I have house sat for dogs, cats, sheep and alpaca's, what fun they were .

With four years of house sitting experience in Auckland, I'm here to make sure your home and pets get the care they need. A Bit About Me: Growing up in Australia, I was a plumber by trade, and although I'm not practising anymore, I still maintain my registration. My skills could be quite handy for organising house maintenance and repairs while you're away. I've been cat sitting for the last four years, and I can't wait to take care of your home and feline friends! When I'm not working or house sitting, you'll find me at the gym, reading science fiction, playing guitar, or enjoying a getaway with my partner. I value cleanliness and tranquillity, ensuring your home will be kept neat and peaceful. Skills and Experience: A Snapshot Home Maintenance: As a registered plumber, I'm equipped to handle any repairs. Garden Care: My love for house plants translates into excellent garden care. Hello, my name is Joyce but everyone calls me Joy and I have been housesitting for the last 18 months. I retired in 2013 and had been traveling internationally as a volunteer worker at summer camps in Australia, America, and England until the Covid lockdowns. I started housesitting so I could enjoy what our beautiful country has to offer and discover all the little nooks and crannies while out walking pets and talking to the locals that one tends to miss while traveling from A to B in a vehicle I have been house/pet sitting in and around Christchurch and have had several callbacks from earlier sits looking after dogs, cats, and hens. I would now like to take my time to explore and enjoy other regions around NZ. Please feel free to look at my references and contact any of my referees, who will be more than happy to discuss with you, the wonderful times I have had house/pet sitting for them as well. Please be assured that I make a point of not taking pictures of any of the homes and pets I have sat at because to me that is someone else's sanctuary and is not to be taken lightly. I look forward to hearing from you in the not-too-distant future when I can be given the privilege to care for your home and the precious animal members of your family.

Hi, my name is Michelle. House sitting really appeals to me, it gives me variety from my day to day schedule . An opportunity to visit different areas, towns and suburbs, that perhaps I haven't yet experienced. It is also like having a holiday away from home. Over the years I (and my two girls, now grown up and moved out) have had many pets, including cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, and birds. Working with the Housesitting Company has given me a wealth of dog sitting experience. I am an extremely house proud person. I own my own home. I am fit and walk and cycle every day. I love the sea, and the beach. I am an honest, trustworthy and tidy person whom would love to be considered to care for your home and your pets. Thank you for taking the time to consider my profile and I hope to meet with you. Regards Michelle

My wife, Annette, and I (John) are both retired. We are both looking forward to travelling the country in our retirement and Housesitting would suit us as we will have a limited budget for accommodation. We don't have pets currently but have experience with Dogs and Cats. We moved in to town 7 years ago, previous to this we lived on 3 different lifestyle blocks over 16 years where we had Sheep and Chickens. During that time we also raised a Cow and a Goat. :) We keep our own House very tidy and would take the same care with any house we stayed in. We would love the opportunity to take care of your house and pet.

Kia ora, My partner James and I are both primary school teachers in Wellington who are moving to Auckland for the first 6 months of 2024 to be closer to family before we head overseas to teach. We are staying with family instead of renting to save a bit before the move and would love the opportunity to house sit. We have both grown up around and lived in households with cats (we love cats and have always wanted our own but unable due to rental restrictions on pets), guinea pigs, fish, rabbits, chickens and dogs. I have had experience house sitting and looking after family members dogs, birds and chickens when they have gone away on various trips. We live a quiet lifestyle and enjoy relaxing at home. We believe we are respectful and trustworthy people who you can trust to care for both your home and pets so you can relax while you are away.

Hi! My name is Ashley Rohloff and I'm a 20 year old uni student going into my third year studying a BSc majoring in Physiology and Psychology and the University of Auckland. I pride myself on being very honest and reliable, as well as highly respectful - I commit full dedication to every job and can provide assurance that I will take the exact same approach to house and pet sitting - I understand the magnitude of leaving your home and pets in someone else's hands and would like to reassure the owners I'm a great person for the job. For my first 2 years of university I lived and worked within the first year halls of residence but have moved home to (very) south Auckland for my final year - I'm finding the commute strenuous and being heavily involved in many extracurriculars and my work typically being central I would love to move back into the city, get experience house sitting and be able to meet my financial goals for the year! I have lots of work experience in different fields and positions, as well as being blessed with many academic/ schooling roles and achievements so can provide a wide range of references to show my character and commitment! I have little experience house sitting but having grown up rurally, horse riding most of my life and being an avid Ag-Day participant I have lots of experience caring for pets and livestock. A homeowner can expect a very happy and bubbly, enthusiastic but highly responsible and trustworthy sitter who can ensure utmost care taken for homes and pets alike.

I am a 43yrold, dog loving, very responsible carer of homes. I have had experience with a number of homes and animals, and make sure that the house and animals are top priority. I was a tour guide/driver for 16 years until March 2020, since then I have served my community by working as a 111 emergency operator and more recently have been a driver in the film and television industry. I don't drink and don't have a partner, so no parties or gatherings will happen on my watch. I'm currently looking for house sitting opportunities as this seems to be the time of year people are taking holidays etc. When I'm not house and animal sitting, I stay with a family member in Mt Wellington. I'm flexible with itineraries, great with all animals and quite detail oriented, so your home and beloved pets will be in good hands

Hi, Thanks for considering my housesit application! I understand it is a big deal to entrust your pets and house to someone else and I would really like to be able to chat with you so that I can know exactly what you require, and you can see that I would be a great house sitter for you. I am new to house-sitting and am really eager to start! I am a 61-year-old university teacher who is looking to do housesitting in the Auckland city area. As a university teacher, I have reasonably flexible working hours and can often work from home. I am a long-term property owner myself and previously owned a lifestyle block north of Auckland. My wife and I have now purchased a house away from Auckland where we want to retire and be close to our daughter. In the meantime, I am continuing my job in Auckland and would enjoy the experience of looking after a place on a short-term basis. I love animals and have cared for a range of animals over many years: we have had our whippet, Maisie, for the past decade, and on our lifestyle block we had chickens, goats, and sheep. I also used to have a cat, Georgie, and am happy to look after cats as well. I am also a keen vegetable and flower gardener. I keep a tidy and clean house and can be relied upon to look after a place in a responsible manner. Regards, Geoff

Kia Ora, I'm Bex! My nature is warm, comforting, empathetic & compassionate. I work part-time for a pet traveling company, transferring fur babies from Auckland International Airport to their owners & do contract film work as a Background/Action Extra. I have lived in Auckland for over 30yrs & currently still look after my 2 youngest teenage daughters as a solo Mum, who one is a senior in college & other is at University. They are self sufficient & look after themselves while I'm Housesitting, which gives me time out to rejuvenate my energy. I've recently completed 37x Housesits since November 2022 in Grafton, Mt Eden, Kohimarama, Glendowie, Howick, Pakuranga, Stonefields, Flat Bush, Titirangi, New Windsor, Onehunga, Papatoetoe, The Gardens, Randwick Park, Te Kauwhata, Waihi Beach & Whangamata; looking after beautiful dogs (as young as 17wks old to 16yrs old) & cats with specific dietary & medication requirements; tropical fish & laying chickens; maintaining their homes (some with pool/spa), watering vegetable garden & plants. I've been successful to have callbacks from these, with 2 bookings in March & October, with a new booking for April 2024. A homeowner can expect me to be very clean, tidy & respectful of ones property, as I am an ex-Commercial cleaner. Hobbies are currently watching movies, relaxing to music & meditation. I do not own any pets, however I do appreciate them & would be a great caregiver for your precious fur babies. The photos in my profile are beautiful cats, fish, chickens & dogs I looked after during my Housesits. They were very attentive, affectionate & playful. We thoroughly enjoyed each other's company. I look forward to meeting you & looking after your extended fur/fish/feather/plant family!

I am a single Mature Woman with with adult children who are happily living their own lives in Hamilton and Auckland. I worked for many years in the Hair and Beauty industry as a Hairdresser and Beauty therapist. I have owned business and employed staff in the past. I now work remotely for a septic tank cleaning company doing telemarketing and database management. During the Covid lockdown I revived my crafting stills creating some interesting upcycling projects. I had been asked by friends to housesit and care for their pets. It seemed a natural progression to I chose to housesit in anticipation of travelling and I joined an international housesitting site, meeting some fabulous people whilst in the UK in 2018. Many of these people I am still in contact with. On my return to New Zealand my desire to travel remained so I continued to move around seeing more of our beautiful Aotearoa. Among the animals I have cared for cats both indoor and outdoor, dogs large and small young and old, chickens ducks and fish and also some livestock. Returning to housesits many times means I have developed some great friendships with both the animals and their owners, and also in some cases neighbors and friends in communities. I look forward to meeting you your animals and experiencing the area that you call home.

Hey there! Max and Dilara here; we are young professionals living in Auckland and would love to take care of your home and give your fur babies all the attention they need! We are both vaccinated and boosted, have been thoroughly police vetted (Max in order to work in an embassy, and Dilara in getting a New Zealand work visa), and are non-smokers. We were both raised in pet-loving families - Dilara's father is a veterinarian and constantly had pets around - and we would love to housesit with animals. Max has experience with pool maintenance, having had a pool. Max also was the owner of a landscaping/handyman business and enjoys helping with home and gardening maintenance. We love playing tennis, hiking, and exploring new cities. If it is possible, we can meet you and your pets virtually, or in-person, before the sit to go over any details and expectations and get to know each other. Please feel free to reach out, we look forward to hearing from you! References are available on request.

Hello! I'm Rocio a 26 year old chilean girl. This is my first time applying to be a house sitter, I would like to know new places around New Zealand and what better than living an unique experience. I don't have a formal experience with house sitting and caring pets but I am a very clean and tidy person, so you don't have to worry about the cleaning of your home. Since I was 0 years old I have been surrounded by pets, mostly cats, dogs and cows. If you choose me, you will find a reliable, safe person who loves animals, and who needs to be in contact with pets to be happier :)

I am a 77 year old ex-South African. Retired but still doing some consulting, remotely. Full driver's licence. I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. TV is therefore a 'nice-to-have'. I also need somewhere safe to park my car, preferably under cover. I look forward to speaking with you soon ... Liston (I am on WhatsApp)

Greetings! I am an enthusiastic and dedicated individual with a passion for animals, and I believe that my unique background and genuine love for pets make me an excellent choice as your trusted pet sitter. Growing up on a charming farm in South Africa provided me with invaluable hands-on experience caring for a diverse range of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, turtles, and hamsters. My upbringing instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility and respect for all living creatures. Living on a farm required me to develop a keen understanding of each animal's specific needs, from the playful energy of dogs to the gentle care required by birds and the affectionate attention that cats crave. This diverse exposure has equipped me with a versatile skill set to cater to the unique requirements of different pets. Having always been surrounded by furry, feathery, and scaly companions, my love for animals extends beyond mere care – it's a genuine connection that goes beyond the basics of feeding and walking. I take joy in creating a comfortable and nurturing environment for pets, ensuring their well-being and happiness in every interaction. My approach to pet sitting is characterized by patience, attentiveness, and a genuine desire to make each animal feel loved and secure. In addition to my hands-on experience, I am a highly organized and reliable individual. I understand the importance of maintaining routines, providing timely meals, administering medications if needed, and ensuring that pets feel a sense of familiarity and comfort in their surroundings. I am also adept at recognizing signs of distress or discomfort, allowing me to address any concerns promptly and effectively. As your pet sitter, I am committed to going above and beyond to meet the individual needs of your furry friends. I take pride in creating a bond with each pet under my care, treating them as if they were part of my own family. Whether it's a game of fetch, a cozy cuddle session, or a leisurely stroll, I am dedicated to providing the companionship and care that your pets deserve. Choosing me as your pet sitter means entrusting your beloved animals to someone who understands the importance of their well-being, and I am confident that my genuine love for animals and my practical experience make me the perfect candidate to ensure a positive and nurturing experience for both you and your furry companions.

Hi there. My name is Neryl. I have recently retired from work as a care giver in a dementia unit at a care facility in Rotorua. I am currently travelling around NZ in my campervan and am looking forward to doing a few house sits along the way. From May to August 2023 I was in Australia house sitting for my son and his wife while they toured Europe. They have an adorable fluffy black and white cat which I had great pleasure in looking after while they were away. I have enjoyed the company of animals most of my life, mainly cats. I currently have a beautiful cat named Lucky. She is being looked after by my son and his family while I am away. I know how valuable our pets are to us and I will do my upmost to look after your pets with the same love and care as I do for my own pet cat, Lucky. .

Hi! I'm 31 yrs old, and currently taking a break from studying criminology at AUT. My interests include arts & crafts, music, food, and animals. I love animals! However, my landlord will only allow me one fur baby. Please allow me to coo and cuddle your fur babies. I love cats and dogs, but would also enjoy looking after small animals (rabbits, guinea pigs) My fur baby is a 12 year old grey cat named Zoe. I've completed 200 hours of vet nurse work experience at 4 vastly different vet clinics (including St Luke's exotics). That's a lot of time making sure that many client's pets are a-okay! Additionally, I was an SPCA volunteer for 4 years. Though I only have a bit of house sitting experience, I know how to look after a house. As expected, I will treat your home with the utmost respect. Privacy and cleanliness will be part of everything I do. I am a home body, but will not be noisy or disturb the dynamic of the neighbourhood. I’ll mostly be going on walks, doing arts & crafts, the odd meal out with a friend, and looking after your pets. I take up odd hospitality temp jobs here and there, but it will not interfere with my duties in your house. Further discussions can be had regarding watering plants etc. Email me if you'd like a copy of a little form I'll fill out (if I'm lucky enough to be contacted). I hope this mini-essay sways your decision-making in my favour, which coincidentally will also be in your favour. Want a worry-free holiday? Book a meet-and-greet today :)

Hi I have lived in Hamilton, New Zealand all my life and I am married to Nick for 33 years and we have grown up children, a daughter and two sons and I thought it would be fun to housesit as a way to see NZ. Our daughter is married and living in Christchurch and we have one grandchild. I enjoy walking and going to daily gym classes and my husband enjoys long bike rides. We are very active. I managed a house we own as an Airbnb for over two years managing bookings per night so I know what is involved in caring for a home. I have dealt with many different nationalities and many situations that arise from having a home on Airbnb. I ensured our Airbnb house was clean and well presented and that the garden was appealing and well managed. I have always had pets those being cats, dogs, chickens, canaries, goldfish - although we do not presently have a pet as sadly our beautiful 14 year old dog Bosco passed away this year My husband is experienced in managing livestock as he was brought up on a farm. I know how to care for animals giving them time, exercise, fresh water and good food. I am also aware of the signs of when a pet is feeling unwell and when to take to the vet. If I was your house sitter I would update you on your home and your pets with regular photos and messages if you wanted this and . if there were any problems I would consult with you. Thankyou

After living in Auckland all my life, two years ago moved into our holiday home in the Coromandel. My adult children live in Auckland so like to be a bit closer while still having my own space and interests. I've always had a cat for a pet and currently own two gorgeous (if bossy!) Birman sisters. I have included a photo of Coco and Chanel as a proud parent! They are well looked after while I am away from home so would love to have a cat to stay with. My photos include some darling dogs that I look after and just love it when a dog and cat are in the same household as they can be a lot of fun together. While late middle-aged, I enjoy running and try to get a one hour jog in on alternate days. This keeps me fit enough to walk dogs as often as needed. I also enjoy knitting and cross-stich which keep me happily occupied during the day. I'm keen on gardening so very happy to looking after gardens as well as pets. I am very particular with my own home and would clean and care for your home in the same way.

We always had dogs and cats when I was growing up so I'm comfortable with having them around and looking after their needs. I house-sat for some friends and their two beautiful dogs over the winter of 2018 and decided I wanted to continue doing it for others. I'm a self-employed entrepreneur and can work online from anywhere. I enjoy the variety of moving around and experiencing different places. Because I work from home I'm able to be there a lot of the time to keep an eye on things and keep your pets company. I'm tidy, self-sufficient and responsible with other people's property. My motto is 'leave things the way I found them'. I look forward to meeting your beloved pets :-)

HI, I love animals and enjoy taking care of them, as I run a small farm with my family I know how important it is to have your animals cared for in their own environment while you are away. I have experience looking after neighbours dogs, cats, horses, sheep as well as on our own farm we have a range of cattle , poultry and sheep. goats and horses. I have a farming back ground and looking after your home and animals while you are away is very appealing way to visit a new area while providing you with the reassurances that your animals are in good safe hands. I like to send updates on how the animals are as it is very reassuring to know they are OK when you are away from them .

Good morning/afternoon, I am a French 24-year-old guy, I was a civil engineer in France before coming to New Zealand - I arrived 3 months ago. I intend to visit the country from the end of February, and I am currently living in Wellington, where I currently work in security. I have been living in a proper flat with one kiwi flatmate for 2 months now. I want to visit New Zealand until mid-April, and then I will be looking for a job in Auckland. For my trip throughout New Zealand, I will be travelling with my French partner I have actually met here in Wellington. She is Audrey, a 26-year-old girl. She is really (really) kind, friendly but also serious and tidy. She speaks better English than I do, as she arrived in the country 10 months ago. Furthermore, she is very familiar with NZ culture, landscapes, fauna and flora as she has been planning this trip for 4 years. Her job is a freelance graphic designer, so she is used to remote working. She has been a house sitter several times. She has also done some couch-surfing many times with good reviews. We are both animal lovers. I have personally grown up with 2 cats at home, and I have always liked playing with my uncle's dogs. Audrey has grown up with an American Akita and also loves cats. Plus, she has been horse riding when she was younger. We are both clean, serious and tidy person. We really appreciate taking care of our living and working spaces. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. Hope to hear from you soon.

Reliable, experienced and mature, I love the adventure of staying in a variety of homes and neighborhoods with the companionship of someone else's pets. I am clean living. I don't drink or smoke and enjoy, meditation, reading, walking and a good Netflix series. I first had the experience of looking after peoples homes while they traveled when I worked as a temp nanny. I later began doing house and pet sitting for friends and networks through word of mouth. My formative years were spent living on a farm and as an animal lover I've always had dogs, cats and even chickens as part of my own family household. I enjoy cat cuddles and nice long dog walks. If you choose me as your sitter, you can expect very good communication around your sitting requirements, that I will connect with your neighbors and send you regular updates about your pets or any issues that arise. As well as your pets well being you can be confident your property will be kept secure and your plants and garden will be watered and well looked after. About me. I work in the Community Development sector and have post graduate qualifications in International Development and Political Science. I am fortunate that with modern working, I can work flexibly. This means I do a lot of my working from home and am able to manage my working hours around other responsibilities as needed. I am able to arrange and adjust my time to accommodate your pets needs as well as spending time at home with them during the working week.

I am a mature professional woman (63 years). Very fit and active. Flexible and conscientious. I am looking to house sit as I take a career break and move to a reduced working week and remote working. Thus, I will have more time and would like the freedom that housesitting provides. I have recently moved up from Wellington where I own my own home plus an apartment. I am staying around Auckland for 2023 and 2024. I am originally from the UK and came out to NZ for a work opportunity; loving the outdoor active lifestyle I have stayed and NZ has become my home. I have experience with family pets including dogs and cats. I will take care of your property and pets and will maintain communications as per your requirements. In summary, I am a mature women who has had a professional career, owned my own home for the past 40 years, raised a family and cared for pets. I am reliable, conscientious, trustworthy and a good communicator. I will look after your property and pets leaving you with peace of mind.

Mature, sensible professional (semi retired) with partner, both with love for animals. Remko (originally from Holland back in 1972) and Caroline (from China). Both non smokers, enjoy clean living with clean criminal international and local records. We met in Malaysia while working as volunteers with cats and dogs for SPCA in early 2015. After that we did a period of volunteers with tigers in Thailand. Highlight of our lives. Great experience to be so close and intimate with a wild animals. Few scars but lived to tell all the tales. After we worked with them, cats and dogs are so easy. Next, hoping to spend some time with elephants. We have done home sitting in NZ as well as offshore in Europe and China as well as a 4 week stay in Malaysia. Although we like to travel, live clean and appreciate clean houses so your home will be looked after. Although not fantastic green fingers, we will happily mow your grass and pull a few weeds as required. As we both still work part time, appreciate wi-fi so we can still receive emails etc. Sky is not important cause we rather be outside enjoying open air as against watching TV. Also since 2017, a volunteer firefighter originally with Otorohanga but would consider helping any local volunteer brigade. Rem has in the past also looked after NZ Police dogs while their handler has gone on holiday so the average dog should be relatively easy. Happy to walk the dogs and where possible, take them to the beach if possible. Hopefully have secure parking for the BMW as well? Since Feb 2017 we have lived in Otorohanga and have looked after various local and surrounding properties. A 550 acre grazing farm and a very upmarket lifestyle house. Although it’s been fun here, we are ready for another area from now on. Long term housesits preferred but will consider short options as well. Yuling now lives in Wellington full time while Rem commutes.

I’m a retired pet lover but because I often go to Auckland to visit family I can’t have a pet of my own. Because I am often in Auckland I could possibly be available for in person interviews for Auckland sits. I grew up in Auckland but have lived in Opotiki for 18 years and love it here. I don’t live in the township but in the very small beach suburb of Tirohanga, only one house back from the beach. There are 30 houses/baches and about half of them are holiday homes. Of the other half at least 40% are occupied by retired people. Lots of them have pets and I fill my animal craving by frequently visiting them. I’m even lucky enough to have a nearly daily visit from my neighbours cat, “Smoke” I can’t see the beach but at night I can hear the waves crashing. I’m physically fit and as I live near a beautiful beach I walk on the beach or cycle track daily. I do 20 to 40 minutes with the occasional 60 minutes thrown in for good luck. I love to read and play board or card games, especially word games. I’m enjoying my retirement but feel like I need to stretch myself a little and house sitting will do that. I’m a gregarious but also very happy with my own company as long as I have a book to read! I’m definitely conscious and reliable as my references will concur. I’ve dog, cat and chicken sat for friends in Opotiki

Kia Ora! We’re Emma and Elias, twins on tour through New Zealand with a working holiday visa, eager to explore the country and its people. Whilst looking for an accommodation we’ve stumbled upon house/pet sitting, which seemed perfect to us both. Both of us adore pets and animals in general and even though we only have fish at home;), both of us have plenty of experience, especially with dogs. I, Emma, did a school exchange in 2020 and lived in a family with 3 dogs (a husky and 2 adopted strays). I took care of them every day of the year, taking all three of them on long walks through the beautiful nature of Andalusia and still, almost three years later, I miss them dearly. I also made a habit out of going to the local Dog-Rescue-Center, taking little pups without a home on walks along the beach. I, Elias, have a close friend with 3 young australian shepherds. Back in Germany I joined them for a walk every day over the last year and cared for them whenever the family was away. I’ve helped educating them since the age of 12 weeks and went through all stages of adolescence with the little rascals. All three of them have a special place in my heart and they will be my first stop when this travel experience comes to an end. Even though both of us have more experience taking care of dogs, we have helped friends and family with cats whenever we had the chance to. If you choose us as sitters you can expect two young, responsible adults to take care of both your home and your animal/s with lots of love and passion. Also, we bring plenty of time with us due to us not working at all or only working part time! That means we are very flexible and can always prioritize your pet/s. We’re looking forward to meet you and your little family!!!

Hi My name is Susan. I am an Aucklander and I love to travel when I can. I grew up always having cats and dogs as part of the family. When I was married and we bought our first house, having pets was a top priority. After 3 years we had 3 cats (Tabby, Tina and Kate) and 2 Beagles (Tony and Lucy). I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. I no longer have pets of my own so I would really love the opportunity to care for yours, either outside of Auckland when I ready for a break or in Auckland for a 'staycation' I am mature, responsible, respectful and resourceful. My house sitting to-date has been through word of mouth or through Housesitters.co.nz and I haven't met an animal yet that I haven't got on with and enjoyed. Please check my references and feel free to contact my referees. I would love to meet you and your pets and have the opportunity to care for them and your home. Thanks Susan

I am a budding writer (at this stage for pleasure), travelling around the country gathering inspiration for stories, house and pet sitting is a perfect fit to help me to continue writing. My preference is for house sits that are of longer duration, and will consider other opportunities as well. As a previous home and pet owner, I know how important it is to have a home looked lived in and pets well cared for. My green thumb is not too bad either. I am happy to say "Hi" to your neighbours if you are friendly with them so they are happy with a new person in their neighbourhood as well. I have experience with cats and dogs, chickens the odd fish and one snail... I am very happy to have a pet curled up on my lap - if they want to! I will be writing from home, so there most of the day to keep pets company and well loved. I am an easy going, friendly person who is clean and tidy and appreciates a clean and tidy home to sit. I am security conscious and happy to water your plants as well. I look forward to meeting with you via Skype, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger Video Calling (or if you Zoom, send me a link) to chat further. Current dates available for 2023: 7th November to 22nd December Warmest, Tracey

Hello, my name is Nelly and my partner’s name is Mario, we are a young couple with 3 years of relationship and together we´ve been traveling around all Mexico and at this moment we are in New Zealand knowing their culture. The reason why we are interested in being a housesitting, is because it’s a great opportunity for us to keep knowing new places, traveling and at the same time make a exchange for our services and have the responsibility for taking care of a house impeccable as if it were our own home, and also have the time to continue developing our online projects and saving some money in our expenses during the tine we are in NZ. Mario has the experience as a housesitting, for 2 years he was in charge of the administration care and cleanness (cleanness made by himself) of one in Merida Yucatan, Mexico, that has 5 rooms and at that time the rooms were rented for students. As a couple we had have the experience of renting a house and a department which we always kept impeccable and with the best care possible. We both consider ourselves as animal lovers, We had the responsibility of taking care of several dogs belonging to family and friends for a few weeks, due to the trust they have in us for the good care we give them, likewise, we have rescued a dog in the jungle of Riviera Maya, Mexico, who has a disability in one of her legs. We provide her a home and care, her name is Mochis and she is now on the care of Mario Parents, she is a very educated dog, we miss her a lot. You can expect from us complete responsibility and love for your home and your animals as if they were our own, considering and respecting 100% the tasks that will be assigned to us.

I am excited to introduce myself as a seasoned housesitter with a unique blend of experience and skills that make me well-suited to provide exceptional care for your home and beloved pets. With a background in providing childcare for families, I have developed a strong sense of responsibility and attentiveness to the needs of both people and pets alike. Throughout my years of housesitting, I have had the privilege of caring for the homes of families I have nannied for, as well as for the extended network of family and friends. This experience has equipped me with a keen understanding of the importance of maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment while homeowners are away. Growing up in a household filled with various animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, and frogs, instilled in me a deep love and respect for animals of all kinds. Currently, I am the proud owner of a boisterous boxer cross dog (who I will not bring with me on a housesit), whom I rescued and have devoted considerable time to training and caring for. This experience has honed my skills in handling pets with unique needs and behaviour issues, making me well-equipped to provide patient and compassionate care for homeowners with pets that require extra attention and understanding. In addition to my experience with pets, I am dedicated to maintaining the security and integrity of your home during your absence. Whether it's watering plants, collecting mail, or addressing any unforeseen issues, you can trust that I will go above and beyond to ensure that your home remains in pristine condition and your pets receive the love and care they deserve. Thank you for considering my application. I am eager to bring my passion for housesitting and my expertise in pet care to your home, providing you with peace of mind and the assurance that your property and pets are in capable hands. Warm regards, Zaena

Hello! Chris and Rae here!! We are very careful and responsible people. An older couple, semi retired, we have had house sitters in our home and have been very grateful for the way it was cared for. We want to do the same for you. Our Birman cat Coco - if she was still alive, would vouch for the love and attention any cat in our care would get. We miss her terribly. We want contact with other cats. We would like to stay in some areas in NZ and get to know them better. Especially by the water! - being sailing people..... We would love to take good care of your home and cat(s) or fish or well behaved dog - we love walking!!! - so that you have a carefree holiday. Maybe next year we will continue our travels around the world and visit our family - in the meantime we will look after yours while you travel.

Hi I am a 35 year old female professional currently working in Christchurch as a civil engineer. I am going on a sabbatical for January and February as I would like to take a break from everyday life and would like to travel around New Zealand. I absolutely love animals and my dream is to one day own a play farm. I had cats and dogs growing up and I am fully aware of the responsibilities of taking care of a pet. I get lots of energy and happiness from spending time with animals and therefore your pets will be very well looked after.

Hi, we're Eóin & Ale, and mad excited to be your potential housesitters! We're all about pets and adventures, and we can't wait to offer our house-sitting services to take care of your home and furry pals while you're off doing your thing! We both have flexible jobs so we can work from home when required, so all your pets will be kept company everyday while we work from home! We’ve house sat many many times before, our longest was 3 months with an energetic Cocker Spaniel called Harry - it was hard to say goodbye! We take care of our friends' cats and dogs whenever we can during the week and weekends. We are very open, honest, and authentic people! You can count on us being responsible and reliable house sitters. Your home will be safe, tidy, and loved, and your pets will get all the hugs, playtime and adventures. We take pride in keeping a tidy living space, so your place will be treated like it is our own. Originally, Eoin’s from Ireland, and Ale’s from Colombia.. we've been NZ Residents for many years now. We’re experienced pet-sitters although relatively new to the House Sitting Company's website. We both grew up with animals at home (ranging from cats, dogs, chickens, snakes, goats, hamsters, rabbits, reptiles.. to livestock) and are both huge animal lovers. Ale’s Dad is a vet, so she was always surrounded by all sorts of animals. We both absolutely love surrounding ourselves with the company of animals, it really makes us happy! House sitting lets us experience different locations, staying in, getting out for daily walks/plays, and most importanly getting a readymade/adopted “family life” with lovely animals. We'd love to meet you and your pets to chat more about your housesitting needs. Thanks for considering us as your housesitters. We're excited to meet you and your lovely pets! Cheers, Eóin & Ale

We are a healthy and fit couple in our late 60s, originally from The Netherlands, who have recently sold our home. Currently we are waiting for our new apartment on the North Shore to be completed (expected settlement is June 2024), so looking after other people’s houses is a great way to bridge that period. Jos is retired, while Lucien still works as a software developer - mostly from home. We have always taken pride in our house, which was very obvious when the real estate agent who sold our current house remarked that she wished everybody staged their houses like we did. However, it was not even staged, and our house sold for a remarkably high price. We ran a Homestay for 6 years in Wellington, which was up and running 3 weeks after we moved in, so we know the importance of keeping a house clean, tidy and well presented! We have had dogs ourselves - Golden Retrievers for many years, and a sweet little Cavoodle for the last 12 years (who sadly passed away a few months ago) - and we look after the dogs and cats of our children from time to time, so we know how to care for animals, and are happy to care for yours. When you select us as your house sitters you can expect that we treat your house and belongings (and any animals) as if it is our own, with care, dignity and respect.

Hi, I've been back in Aotearoa since lockdown when I was visiting my parents and my return flight and visa for Myanmar were cancelled. I am a teacher, and was living in Yangon for 4 and 1/2 years, teaching Academic English at a partner school set up by UTS (Univ of Technology, Syd), and also NGOs. Before that... mostly Sydney, which was my base (until Covid) with long periods in China and a year in Mongolia. I love living with animals, and really miss not having been able to care for one of my own, be it a cat or a dog, due to my living situation and lifestyle. I'm pretty active, enjoying tramping, running, cycling and going to the gym. Reading, drawing and meditation are also important for me. I've started my first garden in decades - pretty exciting. I don't smoke. I am currently teaching migrants and refugees part time during term time, working online for MoH, and studying Te Reo Maori with TWOA. I spend a lot of time at home and have a flexible lifestyle. House sitting offers the chance to catch up with friends and activities in other regions. It's also a good opportunity to have some 'quiet' time for study, as I live in a house with other people. It's a great household, but it's just nice to mix it up. Long Caveat: The last animal to live under my roof was microscopic kitten, rescued from a drain in my street in Yangon - premature, malnourished and not yet weaned. 6 months later she was adopted by friends, Americans, who got her a kitty passport and were able to take her with them back to the US. It's not possible to bring animals to Aotearoa (or Australia) directly from Myanmar, even if I'd known that I'd be back living here. There's a pic of her in my profile. She's one of quite a few animals I've been privileged to 'rescue' over the years. Unfortunately the overall experience of living in places I've lived in though, has been one of disconcerting powerlessness that necessarily gives way to numb detachment. Thus I prize the instances where, with the help of others, I actually achieved something, however small. * Disclaimer: this form doesn't allow macrons

Hi our names are Maryna and Neil, We are close to retiring and feel it is our time to discover the rest of the South Island in New Zealand and while doing that, do what we enjoy and that is looking after peoples pets and a little gardening while we at it. We immigrated here 11 years ago and have been living in the Catlins ever since so love to explore . As we do not have animals of our own (not by choice) this will also give us a great opportunity to enjoy other people's pets while we are on breaks. We are reliable and trustworthy and are managing a holiday park in the Catlins. This is a 24/7 entity and being in hospitality means we know what is expected from cleanliness and client communication. Neil is a handyman and extremely keen garderner so finds himself very busy most of the time. We both are pet lovers and with previous housesitting experience in London, South Africa and in the Catlins, we have done a lot of dog walking, cuddling cats and even looked after pigs, horses and chickens. We both love fishing and used to take our doggies with us (back in South Africa) so they could have a good run around, and when given the chance they would steal some of our catch! It would be our privilege to help home owners out by looking after their homes and taking care of their pets ( with lots of love) putting their minds at ease. We love to update owners at any time as to how things are going back home. Please feel free to contact our referees and ask any further questions you may want answered.

Hi my name is Lisa, I am a 52 year old mother of two. I have my son every second week and my daughter (as she is older) every now and then. I am a school teacher of 5-6 year old's, I'm also studying to be a personal trainer, I play competitive touch and I provide part-time care for my mum, who has Alzheimer's. I love animals and previously had two dogs of my own, I also worked at a rural school and was involved in many Agricultural days where nurturing a variety of farm animals was required. My daughter also horse rides so I have good general knowledge around the care and grooming of horses. I want to house sit as I'm currently house sitting for a friends parents while they are overseas. I've realised I love having my own space and thrive in new and changing environments. I'm not in a position to own my own home again (Yet). In the meantime I would love to have some adventures around the Auckland region to really get a feeling of eventually where I might want to settle down. I've predominantly lived out South, so I'm intrigued to house sit in a variety of different suburbs and surroundings. I love the country or being near the beach, so I'm looking forward to any opportunity that may come my way. Having cared for my mum full-time for two years I'm very capable of managing, maintaining and cleaning a household to a very high standard. I'm exceptionally tidy and love gardening as well. Quite happy to push a lawn mower around. If you were to choose me as your house sitter you could expect to meet a friendly, kind, efficient and bubbly woman. As your house sitter, your house couldn't be in safer hands. I'm very responsible and highly respectful of other peoples properties, I appreciate the time and effort and love that is put into a family home. I'm an excellent communicator and I'm very flexible with dates, I'm happy for short or long-term. Thank you for considering me to care for your home.

Hi there, I'm a 51 yr old woman with my own business that I've had for 20yrs. I do online consultations (which range from life coaching, spiritual advising, counselling etc) I love exploring different places. I would require good internet for my work. I love hanging out with fur babies and have always been an animal lover. I was raised on dry stock farms constantly with an assortment of pets. and until recently I've always had pets. Unfortunately I lost my little Foxy x last year at the ripe old age of 17, and my puddy tat Quasimodo also passed a couple of years back, age 16. I don't feel quite ready for a new pet to own but miss having them around, You can expect that your animals will be well cared for, engaged with, and will have a fantastic time with me. I plan to be at your place most if not all of the time you are away. I will send you photos if you like while your away and update you on how they are doing. A homeowner can expect to have their home well kept and to know everything will be in safe and responsible hands. I'm really a little bit boring If anything, I will probably just snuggle up with your pets and watch a movie at night, I'm totally fine if your pets need to share the bed with me, I'm use to it from mine over the years, I will always be reachable unless I'm in a consultation which usually lasts an hour, but I always check my phone.

We have both had pets and understand the responsibility and love that comes with caring for them.

In my country of origin (Chile) I have worked for 11 years as a veterinarian, therefore I am the right person to care for and accompany your pets. I know how stressful it is for them to change their routines, which is why I can take care of them at home while you are away. See you

Kia Ora, We are Michelle and Pascal from Germany. Currently we are traveling around NewZealand and we’re always looking for new experiences. On our way to find accommodation we found this app and thought it would be a great opportunity for us. We both love animals and would love to take care of your home and pets. I’m Michelle and I would describe myself as a happy person that is patient, active, loves animals and pays attention to detail. I’m Pascal and I would describe myself as an active person that likes to be outside. I’m responsible and I’m an animal lover. Me and my brother Pascal have a dog in Germany and we also had bunnies over the years. Our dog is a labrador and very active. We always play with her and take her on long walks. We know how to take care over cats as well. We took care over my friends cats when they went on vacation. Michelle also took care of her hostfamilies cat during her exchange year in the USA. We already have experience with housesitting in NewZealand. We had an housesit in Christchurch and we both loved it. We took care of an spaniel cocker and a lovely cat. We are confident that we have the skills and experience necessary to provide excellent care for your home and pets. If the homeowner chooses us as sitters they can expect kind, responsible and reliable people which are excited about the opportunity to care for your home and pets while you are away. We are available for full-time work. We are comfortable caring for pets of all sizes and we are comfortable caring for homes of all sizes. We are looking foward to be your pets sitters. Cheers, Michelle and Pascal

Kia Ora, My name is Marama Mitchell and my Partner is Jack Baigent. We have two children Tui is 7 years old and Kahu is 6 years old. I am a physiotherapist and Jack is a web designer and videographer. We all live in Tawa, Wellington. Jack, myself and the kids all love the outdoors, going for walks, parks and the beach. We enjoy exercising and enjoy walking so walking a dog(s) would not feel like a chore but would be welcomed company. Jack and I are responsible and reliable individuals who are excited about the opportunity to care for your home and pets while you are away. Jack and I have grown up with family cats and dogs and know how they are important members of the family. We have also looked after a variety of animals at Tui's Montessori pre-school. We don't have room for animals at our house but would love the children to experience what that would be like by caring for your pets. During our time living and studying in Auckland we used to house sit for a family friend who lived in Herne Bay. This included which looking after their dog Cappuccino. We loved it! We lived in a small apartment in the city, so it felt like such a treat staying in a Herne Bay house with a pool. We have never forgotten how special it was to look after someones home and pet and get the opportunity to explore a new area of Auckland. We would love to be able to share similar experiences with our children. I am confident that Jack and I can provide an excellent service. We are reliable, responsible and friendly. We will treat your home and pets as if they were our own. We are comfortable caring for pets of all sizes and comfortable caring for homes of all sizes. I look forward to hearing from you! Kind regards, Marama Mitchell

My name is Claire and I’m an active, caring and friendly person. I love travelling and have seen much of the world. My recent travels have been around New Zealand and I have stayed in some wonderful homes which I have treated with pride, always leaving them clean and tidy. All my reviews are thankful for the way the home has been left and all say they would welcome me back. The opportunity to take up the lifestyle of house sitting appeals to me. I have owned many pets Bailey was a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier who was much loved by all in our family for many years. Our two cats Chardonnay and Benson lived to 19 and 18 years old. Our goldfish lived for 12 years and I have also owned lots of tropical fish. So my experience with various loved pets is long standing. The joy I get from animals is enormous. If I was successful in securing a Housesitting position I would be very respectful in looking after your house. I would return it to you just how you left it. I would take care of your loved pets just how you would. I even love gardening and would happily potter in yours. And I would relish the experience of living in a different environment.

I'm a retired optometrist, living in a retirement village and would like a change of scene now and then. I'm well-travelled and have good reviews on Airbnb. I haven't house sat, but am a farmer's daughter, so familiar with dogs, sheep, cows and hens. I used to have pet lambs and had a couple of pet (wild) ducks for a while. We had numerous pets when my children were at home, including guinea pigs, rabbits, ducks, cats, lovebirds, tadpoles, a lamb and I remember looking after the school mice in the holidays. I have fed friends' animals and I have a cat at home. My interests are travel - I have 2 children in the US and have been to around 40 countries - computers, reading and music (to a lesser extent). I'm mainly interested in short stays. You can expect me to do what you need and leave your place as I found it.

We began housesitting last year in March 2023 as our apartment was and still is!!! undergoing major renovations. We have thoroughly enjoyed this experience and have loved looking after houses/pets throughout Auckland. As we have enjoyed it so much - we are deciding that even/when our apartment is complete we will be continuing to make ourselves available to housesit. So a little about us: We are a professional couple in their 50's. We are both working full-time in Auckland, but Craig does shift work so there is a lot of time that he is home when I am at work and vice versa. Prior to moving into our apartment we had both cats and dogs as our pets and these were brought up with our three kids, and we have loved interaction with animals that we have been lucky enough to get to know over the last year. If we can assist you by providing safe secure environment for your pets whilst you are not there, we would be delighted to do so. We always treat the home as if it is ours and respect the rules of the house and how you want our interaction with your house and animals to go. I (Julie) am a 5th generation Aucklander and I grew up with two dogs (lab X & mastiff/ridgeback X), four cats, budgies, chickens and even looked after our uncles pet pig! There was always a cat or two on your lap at home, with a dog asleep on your foot, a budgie on the shoulder. I love the fact that we are able to introduce our grandkids to how to treat well with animals and see them grow to love them as we do. Craig (6th generation +) hails from Wellington and now an Aucklander. He has been employed in a senior management role in the government for over 20 years here in Auckland (so I have told him that makes him an Aucklander - but he is apparently only an Aucklander, when Auckland wins in sport!)- and was brought up with smaller dogs (terriers & pugs) and cats. As he works shifts he is often available in the day to walk dogs/ have the cat curl up with him! As stated both of us are full-time workers and have Therefore, we are motivated and keen to be your sitters.

Hello there, My name is Donna and I'm a 60 year old mother of three children. I grew up in the Hutt Valley and have spent most of my life in the Wellington/Wairarapa area. For the past 10 years, I've been a healthcare assistance at a number of retirement villages in the Wellington region. While not working, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, going for bush walks and reading a good novel. I've previously done the odd house sit for friends and family, however with my children having all now left home and coming up to retirement, I'm keen to look at housesitting more frequently. I love animals and our family has all grown up with both cats and dogs. Since a young age, we owned family dogs with the first being Budda who was a Lab x Dobberman and the most recent being Bella who was a Border Collie x Irish Settler. I understand it can be stressful for pet/house owners when they go away to not have someone watching over their homes or keeping their pets company. I get a real buzz out of helping people and providing reassurance that when they go away, they're pets/house will be in good hands. I'm aware that all pets have their own individual needs and am respectful and accepting of these. I consider myself to be a reliable, responsible and trustworthy person. I can't wait to look after your pets and house and look after them as if they were my own. Chat soon. Donna

I am a well organised & respectful person & very reliable/trusting after 31 years in the international banking & finance industry & private consultancy space. I am now working on a NZ Government (MFAT) international aid & development programme since November 2020 that covers 12 countries across the Pacific. I lived & travelled overseas for almost 20 years & returned to NZ in mid 2020 during the midst of Covid & am now double vaccinated & double boosted as well. I have the utmost integrity while maintaining a solid moral compass & set of values. I am also an avid & long-term part time student & I am in the throes of completing my PhD qualification by 2024. I/we are interested in house sitting because I love travel & visiting new places after having travelled & worked overseas in many countries since the mid 1990s. I have house sat for many personal friends & work colleagues in the past including pet minding including a few housesitting assignments with the Housesitting Company now under my belt ranging from 10 days up to 6 weeks (which I am undertaking as I write this). The range of animals is also extensive & has included dogs, cats, goats & even kuni kuni pigs while I have also been charged with administering medicine. I come from a rural & farming background & so I am very comfortable & accustomed to being around animals of all shapes & sizes & descriptions. My hobbies include study, travel, health & fitness, fishing, diving, hunting & most outdoor & water activities. You can rest assured that any required tasks of me during a house sit will be fully complied with including pet minding & that your property will be in exactly the same pristine condition as you left it with all agreed rules respected. My partner, Evangeline, flies in & out from/to overseas as she is working offshore & so there may be the odd occasion when she will accompany me on a house sit if she is NZ at the time but I will advise you should this be the case.

As a previous home owner I understand how important it is to care after a home. Furnishing a home can be costly so I always make sure when house sitting that I'm always cautious of peoples belongings. There's nothing worse than a carpet stain!! But I make sure this sort of thing never happens. I'm a single 40 year old business owner and before getting back into the property market I've decided to do housesitting for the rest of the year. I've looked after both cats and dogs in the past. I am very tidy and respectful and love animals! Open to any questions you may have about me! Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi I'm Kim. I'm an environmental scientist working in sustainability for an energy company, I work fully remotely so I'm mostly home Mon - Fri. My work sometimes includes travel to locations such as Auckland, Wellington, central Nth Island and the Otago. When I do that I like to house sit as I prefer to live like a local rather than stay in hotels, it also gives me the added bonus of fur babies which I love. My husband and I live in Christchurch with our Burmese fur baby Cookie who truly rules our life in a good way. In some locations when I'm travelling for work I go into the office occasionally, ie in Auckland. We are active outdoors people, love trail running, tramping, surfing and biking. We are often trusted to house sit for friends and neighbors when they are away, and we're are experienced and happy to look after small and large animals. I have also had quite a few dogs in my life over the years, fox terriers and border collies when growing up and later in life larger dogs. At the moment we just have Cookie but I doggie sit for friends quite often. As I work remotely I'm home most of the day, I like to get up early leaving time in the afternoons to get outside for exercise or exploring. If you have animals that require a bit of exercise that suits me perfectly as I like to get out for a walk / run. I've been house / pet sitting for friends and family for years and have loved the experience of exploring different locations and getting to know different fur babies. I will take care of your loved fur baby and your home as my own.

Hello My name is Andrea I have been house/pet sitting for over seven years with a two year break for the covid travel restrictions. Most of my clients to date have been in the wider Auckland area. Most houses have had cats and/or dogs, a few fish and chickens and some no pets at all. All have their own special characters! I am pleased to say that most have been referrals and repeat clients. Professionally I was a banker for 30 years in the Waikato and Auckland then moved into the book industry ten years ago. I worked in a Ponsonby bookshop for several years and then for a book distribution business. I am now working independently from home. I love to read, obviously. I am a keen embroiderer very involved in several groups at local and national level. I am pragmatic and careful by nature, security and privacy conscious. My goal is to preserve your pets routine and to ensure you can travel with no concerns about what is happening at home. Over the years I have grown very fond of some of my regular four-legged clients and enjoyed vicariously the travels of the two-legged ones.

My children and I lived on a 10 acre block in Waimauku for several years and cared for a variety of animals including cats, dogs, hens, sheep, cows, and the occasional rabbit and duck! Because of Geoff's years spent at sea his opportunities to care for pets have been limited, but in his younger years his family owned cats, dogs and budgies. Geoff and I spend the summer months,October through to April, in New Zealand, which is when we are available for house sitting. We have a yacht berthed in Penang, Malaysia, and we are there during New Zealand's winter months. Geoff has spent nearly 13 years cruising in South East Asia, and I joined him in 2012. Geoff is a shipwright and is capable of servicing a wide range of appliances, machinery etc.He served in the New Zealand navy for 8 years and after leaving he worked as a commercial diver whilst building his first yacht. After sailing for many years in the Pacific, Australia, Africa and Europe, he settled in Brisbane, where he set up his shipwright business. He then built his second yacht and set sail for South East Asia. My previous working life involved a variety of positions, including working as a supervisor in a childcare centre in Waimauku, Auckland, and then as a sterile services technician at North Shore hospital in Auckland. I have two sons who live in the Netherlands and Belgium, and 1 grandson. Because of our lifestyle on the yacht we are organised and tidy in our habits. We enjoy exploring new environments, so house sitting promises to be a great way to meet new people, have some much-needed interaction with animals again, and reunite us with different parts of our country after being away for so many years. Although we are away from New Zealand at times, we are always able to participate in video calls via either Skype or What's App.

Hi! My partner Alev and I are on the journey of saving for our first home together. House sitting is a great option for us as we both love variety and spending time with animals. We consider it an honor to be given the custodial responsibilities of someone else's home and pets. Alev is from Istanbul, the city of cats, so she has a natural affinity and affection for cats and all animals for that matter. I'm the favorite of my family's pets Badger and Poppy ( a tempestuous but gorgeous rescue cat and a mischievous but, ever-faithful Sweedish Vallhund) I am an artist and I also work as a handyman. Alev is an architect working for a company in the city. We love nature and gardening and planting our own fruit and vegetables. We are both clean and tidy and have an appreciation for the space we live in. We will make sure that your house is well looked after. We have been house sitting for a while now and, we are thrilled by the experience of meeting different animals each time. Each animal is a new friend for us and we are enjoying getting to know their individual characters. Looking forward to meeting you and your lovely pets :)!

Hello my name is Dave! I am a very healthy and fit retired builder/joiner. For 30 years I ran my own building and joinery company. I have been living in Australia and have recently returned as the heat was too much for me! My lovely wife passed away a few years ago after 47 years of marriage. As I am on my own I feel housesitting would be a wonderful way for me to meet new people and see a little bit of New Zealand. House sitting is such a wonderful win-win for all parties involved and since I have no ties, I am able to have the pleasure of helping homeowners go away, care for their beloved pets and home, whilst being able to explore my own 'back yard'. House sitting will also allow me to decide more of the region of New Zealand I want to purchase a property in, in the future. I am currently living with my twin sister in Paraparaumu and helping her look after her two Jack Russells. I have three sons and four wonderful grandchildren. I have always owned German Shepherds throughout my life as they are my favourite breed and such a great natured dog. I have also owned cats as well. I am a keen gardener and also enjoy fishing and snooker. Thank you for taking the time to consider my profile and I believe that with my experience throughout life, I would be of great help to any homeowner needing care for their pets and home. Warmest, David.

Hi there, My name is Laura, I am originally from Brazil and have been living in New Zealand for almost 8 years now. I am a digital marketer passionate about communicating/connecting with people. I am well-organized and understand the importance of maintaining a clean and tidy living space. I believe that a neat environment contributes to a sense of peace and well-being, both for you and your pet. I'm a responsible and reliable person with a love for animals. I had a few pets when growing up, including a pitbull crossbreed, and she was our best friend and companion at home, so I understand the love and care they require. I have lived in a flat for 4.5 years with an amazing cat called Pango. He was my daily dose of joy, and I loved snuggling with him in bed. Even though we now live in separate houses, I continue to look after him and house-sit for my friends whenever needed. During my time off, you'll find me exercising, enjoying the outdoors, reading, watching some movies or catching up with friends. I value the balance between personal well-being and social connections. I'm here to bring you and your pet a fun and stress-free house-sitting experience. You can count on me to keep your house in order and provide plenty of belly rubs and playtime for your furry companion. I'll make sure your pet feels right at home while you're away and that they receive the same level of love and attention, making sure they feel safe and loved in their familiar surroundings. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything else you'd like to know. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Warm regards, Laura.

Hi there My name is Rama. I'm an actor and a musician. I work part time jobs so I can keep more time to follow my passions. I've done plenty of house sitting and taking care of pets. I've mostly had cats in my households, I've also had experience caring for dogs, but I love and can care for any animal. I'm vegetarian, into clean living, I don't drink or smoke and I love keeping a clean space. I'm very mindful and will take great care of your home. I'll also have plenty of free time and energy to take care of your pets. Thanks
Greetings Home and Pet Owners, Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is …
Greetings Home and Pet Owners, Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Norman Ronald Mcfadyen. I was born and raised in Northumberland. My father and his ancestors came from the Isle of Mull, my mother’s from Northern Ireland. My accent is hard to place, as I have travelled extensively in my life and have had to learn to modify my accent over the years, to be comprehensible to others. I am a very friendly and gregarious soul, who loves the company of both people and animals. I have worked in mental health for over 30 years; initially, as a psychiatric nurse and later as a mental health clinician and therapist. I have also worked in performing arts for nearly as long, as a professional actor mainly. These days, I combine my love of theatre and education to teach others some successful strategies, to navigate the bumpy paths of life. I do a little bit of homeschool teaching and I am an instructor at the New Zealand Stage and Screen combat school in Birkenhead. I came back home to New Zealand in March 2020, after having lived back in the UK for a couple of years, looking after my father. I came back to Auckland for my son’s wedding and found myself marooned due to the Covid lockdown. My father died shortly after I arrived and therefore I have no need to go back in the UK. My life and living is very flexible as a single man of 54 years of age. I enjoy playing my ukulele and singing every day and have a successful Christmas business, portraying Father Christmas himself. I have had pets all my life, both cats and dogs, when living in my own property. Since being marooned here in 2020, I have missed them dearly. I am not in a position to have my own pets, due to uncertainty going forward. I would be more than delighted to spend my time with your loved ones in the meantime. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future. Kind Regards, Norman

We are a couple in our late twenties and have been together for four years. We love to travel and have travelled throughout the world together for the last 4 years. We have recently immigrated from Ireland to New Zealand on a working holiday visa. Back home Éireann was a early years teaching assistant in a bilingual preschool and day-care and Ryan managed a UK bakery/café chain. We are currently unemployed which leaves us with complete free-time and flexibility. When we lived in Ireland we house and pet sat for family and friends in between our travels which had dogs and cats for short and long periods of time. We both have a love for animals from growing up our whole lives in house holds filled with mostly dogs and cats. We enjoy the outdoors and nature while going for long walks which is why we choose New Zealand to settle for a while. We both have a strong passion for the welfare of animals including their emotional state and well being as well as ensuring their home is well kept and hygienic. We can ensure we will keep their standards of living to your standards.

Hi, my name is Morgan. I am a friendly, gentle and caring individual who enjoys business/ property investing, reading and coffee. I am a property manager who enjoys houses and caring for them. I would love a change of scenery and to help fund my new start up business where I can save on rent. I often house sit my mums place when I check on a couple properties I manage in Christchurch and thoroughly enjoy it (I reside in Auckland). I adore animals and caring for them especially being outdoors. In the past I have had a cat and my mum has a dog so having pets around is very comfortable for me. I like to keep the property immaculate and to ensure all tasks are completed and animals are happy. I enjoy living an active, clean and positive way of life and would love to be your next house sitter. Look forward to connecting soon.

Life is one big adventure! I like to be kept busy; I love to travel, discovering out of the way places, meeting new people & embracing life. But my family pets have always been a top priority. House sitting offers some exciting opportunities, but more specifically it will provide me with the pleasures of 'adopting' your family pets, if only for a short time. (And, I certainly miss not having my own pet to care for). There has always been a cat or dog (or both) in the house and then there have been the children's tropical fish, German rat, guinea pigs, rabbits, and birds! We've even had a couple of cats 'adopt' us! I also volunteered for 18 months at a bird rescue centre a few years ago which was a very rewarding experience. From a young age until her early 20s, I also used to spend a lot of time at my aunt & uncles farm where they had a dairy herd, goats and a chicken run. Animals have always featured in my life. I have been fortunate to have had some wonderful House & pet sitting opportunities over the past 3 years (with a global house sitting company) looking after dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and birds - most of these sits were while I was based in the UK. I'm now cutting back on my time away from NZ and, after hearing very positive comments about The Housesitting Company, have decided to join so that I can focus more on NZ sits. I'd be delighted to look after and love your family pets and I will take excellent care of your home. It's a responsibility that I take seriously and I hope you might consider me to look after your precious fur babies and your home while you are away.

Good day! My name is Bonnie. I'm a beauty salon owner in Auckland and mostly only manage the business remotely now. I have the time and flexibility to be anywhere in Auckland or outskirt cities around Auckland and has a lot of free time. I want to have more flexibility of my location to explore more around North Island, and also have some companion of animals as I love them! I have looked after friends places when they're away before and have always been a responsible tenant and flatmate for all the houses I've lived in. I've grown up with 2 cats and a dog. I love all animals and am very patient with them. I'm a huge fan of Cesar Millan and his training methods and dog psychology. I like to hold calm confident energy around pets and make them feel safe with me then to build trust from there. I'm tidy and love to keep my living space clean - it gives me mental clarity. I'm a responsible person as the nature of being a business owner of 7 years managing a team. I live a healthy and sober lifestyle. I spend a lot of my time doing yoga, hiking and time by the beach. I would take great care of your property and walk the dogs in nature nearby and give cats a lot of affection. I'm experience with raw diet for dogs and cats as well. I'm looking forward to meeting you and your pet(s)! :)

We live in a motorhome and have housesat at a few homes which has been very successful. John has bred and shown dogs for 9 years and I grew up and had cats over many years. We have had positive feedback from homeowners as we have kept gardens tidy and get satisfaction from leaving a home cleaner than when we arrived. We keep good health and love exploring new areas.I am known to walk for many miles and we have our own bikes. We have only ever had dogs and cats but wouldn't be averse to looking after something different.

Hello, we are a middle aged, tidy and responsible professional couple (teachers). We look forward to house sitting during our NZ wide travel plans from December through to April 2024, after 3 years away working. We love animals and between us have a wide range of pet care experience. We are non-drinkers and non-smokers and will endeavor to take the best care of any house, property and pets we are charged with. Both of us have cared for a range of pets throughout our lives including cats, dogs, turtles and fish and more and we will care for your home and pets as if they are our own for the duration of a sit. We like to walk and explore our natural surroundings, listen to and play/ sing music, plants and gardening and cooking great food. We enjoy our own company and like to relax and converse and believe we'd make great conscientious and trustworthy house-sitters . Thanks and kind regards, Brent & Ajeng

I finished my pre-service teacher training at Macleans College last May 2023. Currently, I am a full time Food Nutrition & Technoology teacher at Macleans College. My son is a Year 1 student at Cockle Bay School. When I was a teacher in Beijing, friends asked me to house sit and care for their pets and I was happy with the experience. In the Philippines, I have Australian friends who asked me to house sit for them also. I am confident to say that I will look after your home as my own and consider you as a family member who went on a vacation. Growing up in the farm, we have a lot of pets and domestic animals - cats, dogs, chickens, cows, ducks, fish, goats, geese, turkeys, horse. When I was in my teens, my dad thought that the best way to teach me about responsibility was by letting me take care of birds - love birds and other breeds. During my late 20s up to now that I have my own family, I have become a human to cats. I wanted to have dog/s also but my husband thinks we cannot provide the ideal home for dogs. During the pandemic, we got some guppy fish for our garden. It just feels warm and homey when you have pets. My family would be happy to house/pet sit for you!

We are Taz and Rosie, we have been living in Nee Zealand since July 2022. Rosie is an NZ citizen and Taz is here on a partnership visa. We work in the summer on festivals and events in management roles for glamping companies and in the off season we have been working as landscapers/gardeners with Taz doing some building work also. We travel in our campervan to jobs over the summer so housesitting would be ideal for us to see more new places in New Zealand or to take some more relaxed days between jobs. Taz has had family dogs at home his whole life and studied Animal Management at college. He has cared for dogs, cats, reptiles; lizards including large lizards like bosc monitors, some snake experience, rats, hamsters and chickens. Taz rescued a dog in the UK in 2014 and raised him with friends who he lives with now. Rosie has had cats as family pets her whole life as well as small tropical fish. I have cared for dogs of friends/family over the last 10 years including becoming a main guardian for Tazs dog after we met in 2020. Other family pets have been horses and pigs which I have some experience providing care for. With the right instruction ahead of time we are comfortable with almost any animal! We have both house sat previously for friends and family in the UK and have house sat 3 times in NZ most recently being July 2023. This has covered stays of 2 days to 3 weeks with care for dogs with a range of needs (nervous dogs, walking routines etc). A homeowner can expect that we are a clean, tidy and responsible couple. We love animals and would be more than happy to have a routine during our stay that supports their wellbeing, be it extra fusses or walks! We also understand that there is a lot of trust allowing someone to stay in your home space and would treat your home with the utmost respect.

We are a family of 4+1 - Mum, Dad, 2x daughters aged 16 and18 years (our 18 yo will most likely not join us). We would like to have a holiday with the comforts of home including a pet to come home to. We have a Mini Schnauzer named Ollie who is 3 years old. We walk him daily on the beach or park and socialise him with other dogs as much as possible. My sister also has a Mini Schnauzer x Lowchen so they would dogsit for us while we are away. We love dogs and cats and would treat them like we do our own. Chris was brought up with cats and his family and a few friends own cats which we have fed and looked after while they have been away over the years. If you choose us as a sitter you can be sure we will take good care of your pets and your house/garden like it is our own.

We are a mature active couple who enjoy meeting new people and travelling. We now live in an apartment so miss having pets due to our lifestyle so this seems a good way to meet our need and support pet owners have a holiday. We have hosted / and use Airbnb for accomodation and have gained five star rating for both. We would look after your home and pet/s as we would our own. We are also security minded due to our previous occupations - an important consideration we are sure when entrusting your home. We both love cats and still miss our dear Casper. We often look after our sons dogs Cooper and Baxter. We both prioritise keeping fit through walking, swimming , tramping and cycling. I am learning to play piano and Vance loves his crosswords. We both enjoy reading and dancing too.

I am a clean, tidy, honest, mature and respectful person. I don't smoke or drink. I was born in Auckland and enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and going on walks. I work full time as a nanny (in their home). I have looked after friend's homes and pets in previous years - so have had experience doing this - as well as house and pet sitting through this website and others. As a child, between myself and my siblings, we had (for varying lengths of time) - a turtle, guinea pigs, dwarf rabbits, and cats. At my place of work there have been budgies and dogs. If you need someone to look after your property (including plants and pets), while you are away, and know that you will return to a clean and tidy home, then please contact me.

I am a friendly, caring person who very much enjoys looking after homes and pets for people while they are away. I have been home and pet sitting for many years and have proven to be very responsible and security conscious. Friends and strangers alike call me for repeat house sits and I am only too happy to assist. I look after pets and homes as if they were my own. I have always lived in Auckland and know the city well, from home sitting in many and diverse suburbs of this beautiful city. The pets I have cared for have been many and varied - cats, dogs, fish, mice, birds and a tortoise. I walk on a daily basis and I am only too happy to walk your dog if so desired. Cats and dogs of all ages, sizes and breeds have enjoyed having me as their sitter and love the nurturing whilst their guardians are away !! Thoughtfulness and trustworthiness are two of my key strengths and I would love to be considered to mind your home and pets.

I am a young at heart, mature and responsible travel loving adventurer. I love animals and have had a variety of pets including dogs, cats, fish and birds including chickens, so I understand how hard it can be when you have to leave them with strangers. I used to regularly look after a landlady's pets including a Shitzu, 3 cats, a parrot, a cockatiel and a canary, and I used to run my own cleaning business, so you will come back to a house at least as clean as I found it. My background is in nursing so I am used to administering medication, including insulin, to people and would be willing to learn to administer it to pets if required. In my current business as a freelance Proofreader and Editor and Life Coach, all I need is a WiFi connection and I can work from anywhere, which means that your pets will be seeing a lot of me, so more cuddles and exercise for everyone, and more security for your home and for your peace of mind. Previously I worked for nursing and care agencies which involved working in residential homes caring for people, frequently in new environments, so I am used to being able to quickly assess my surroundings and situations and deal with the unexpected when necessary. Every job I have had has required a police check due to the nature of my profession so rest assured that I am responsible and trustworthy. I retired and was also widowed in 2020, and have recently relocated from Christchurch to Auckland to be closer to family, so I have plenty of spare time on my hands and am available at fairly short notice. I look forward to meeting you and caring for your home and pets. Regards Jan Given

Hi! My name is Annabelle. I am a single young-professional in Auckland on a remote-working-holiday. i.e. I work from home on my laptop whilst pet-sitting ^ ^ I choose to do pet-sitting because I really love animals, I like having the peace of living "alone" and this allows me to do have both without having to pay any rent! I have plenty of prior experience of pet-sitting cats, poultry, tortoises and fish, and back in the UK I foster dogs regularly for the charity Dogs Trust. I have attended several of their training days focussed around proper care for dogs, and dealing with reactive dogs. Through my work with the charity, I have looked after dogs of all sizes and needs, from 6-week-old Pug puppies to geriatric Great Danes. Beyond just feeding and exercising them, I have experience dealing with medical needs such as changing dressings. I am friendly and pretty nerdy and will treat your pet with love and your house with the same respect I would treat my own (probably a bit better tbh). My hobbies include walking and enjoy relaxing with a good book. If you want to learn a little more about me from an outside source, you can read an article in Stuff here: https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/small-business/121442984/coronavirus-from-a-brain-injury-to-helping-fight-covid19-by-3d-printing-ppe I'm currently in Auckland 3 months (January - end of March this year, 2024) and am currently booked until the end of January. If you are looking for an experienced and trustworthy person to stay at your home and care for your pets in the months of February and March, please get in contact. Thank you for your time! Annabelle

Hey hi hello! We are an easy-going kiwi couple who are coming up 6 years together, currently renting in Point Chevalier, Auckland. We have lived in New Zealand most of our lives in Taranaki, Tauranga, Wellington and now call Auckland home. Libby works in communications for a couple of non-profit organisations including Endometriosis New Zealand. Gabriel is a qualified Electrician managing some major sites across the city. We fell in to house sitting years ago for friends, colleagues or friends of friends and family and have decided to take on a few more sits over the coming year as we think it will provide us with a unique opportunity to explore different neighborhoods and ultimately decide where we want to put down our roots when we buy our home. We understand the importance of trust when it comes to letting someone into your personal space. We treat every home as if it were our own, maintaining a clean and organised space - reflecting our own house proud natures. Gabriel is a handy-man and will be happy to use his skills to ensure everything is maintained while we stay whether that's being a plant dad or tending to any house needs. We are therefore comfortable with bigger properties despite it just being the two of us staying. We are always happy to bring our own linen/towels as we know the last thing you’ll feel like is extra washing after your holiday. Both of us share a deep love for animals and have struggled not to dive in to adopting pets while we are still renting (really struggled haha!). In saying this, we have a lifetime of experience having grown up with beautiful dogs and cuddly cats, and looked after the occasional feathered or finned friend too. We will give them all the love they want or just co-exist with them if they're more independent! Libby works from home for majority of the week, with a few meetings across the city so can be readily available for attention. We are big walkers and adventurers so would include our new friends in that too! We take pride in our reliability and communication skills, keeping you updated with regular check-ins and photos to ease any concerns while you're away. Choosing us as your house sitters means choosing a friendly, caring and responsible couple who genuinely enjoys the company of pets and a peaceful lifestyle. Let us take the worry out of your travels, knowing that your home and furry friends are in capable and loving hands. Get in touch if you think we could help! :)

Steve and I have been married for almost 42 years and are semi-retired parents and grandparents. We are young at heart and enjoy spending time with our family, grandchildren, and friends. Steve is a part time IT contractor and often works from home. I also work part time, as a self employed private house cleaner. Working part time gives us both the freedom to enjoy not only our hobbies and interests but the grandchildren as well - we often pick them up from school and spend time together. Steve & I both have several different hobbies and interests that we enjoy when we have the chance. I enjoy reading, listening to music, knitting, English paper piecing, hand quilting, and cardmaking. Steve has a great interest in NZ Railway History, railway modelling, listening to music, and gardening. We both enjoy an active lifestyle - anything that involves walking - as well as visiting local garage sales and markets. We have housesat for family and cared for their pets, and we have had cats & birds almost all of our married life. We have been dog sitting our grandchildrens’ wee dog on several occasions over the last 2 years. As a homeowner you can expect us to totally respect and care for your home and property and as a private housecleaner and a self confessed perfectionist you would be coming home to a clean and tidy house at the end of your time away.

Hi .. My name is Jude.. I am a 60 year old Women, Company Director and mobile travelling sales person, selling educational resources to schools throughout NZ. I have been working in a travelling sales role all around NZ for more than 30 years... working, travelling and usually staying in motels or my time share accommodation, which tends to be a little expensive over the year. I have flexibility and can work any in area. I am normally at work daily for around 5-6 hours and home mid afternoon to do paper work etc. feed, walk animals, and prepare dinner. I own 2 houses and at present have them both rented with tenants and flatmates. So I understand the privilege of owning a house and totally respect other peoples property and their belongings. I have done a lot of housing sitting over the years and have cared for and feed many animals. Auckland for 3 months looking after dogs and cats. Farm animals or feeding chickens, which is no problem as I am a country girl at heart. I have had looked after 3 large dogs. One that required monitored medication daily and exercise. I have also had to feed unwell cats medicine etc and have no problem caring for your pets no matter what there needs. I enjoy the company of animals especially since I am away from home so much. I love all animals and especially their little characters. Whilst I am at home during the summer months, I used to host overseas students that come to NZ to learn English. I have had many students over the years, Swiss, Thai, Arabian, Japanese, Chiian, Brazilian. They all love staying with me as i spend time with them and share our beautiful country with them often taking them somewhere for day trips etc. Homeowners can be assured that I will treat their home and their pets as they would themselves with upmost care and respect enabling them to have a stress free time away from home and to enjoy your holiday with no concerns. I am honest and reliable. It would be my pleasure to housesit for you. Thanks J

Hi, we are Tracey & Mick - both self employed work from home professionals. Tracey is a weight loss consultant & Mick an IT consultant. We are parents of 4 adult children & are a blended family. We have no pets at present and decided not to, to allow us to travel more easily. Previously we had 9 chickens - our 'other children'. We love animals and have had experience with our own cats (5), rabbit, guinea pigs, chickens and a Labrador dog (Abby). We even got to look after Sea Monkeys for one of our boys. One of our boys has Purebred American Bulldogs & we love visiting & playing with them. In the recent Auckland floods (for the 2nd time) close friends of ours bought their 6 chickens to us, to care for, until they were able to live in their home again - the first time we had them for over 6 months and more recently 3 months. Their 'babies' were well loved & looked after. Mick is a keen diver and loves to get out in the garden, Tracey used to be a professional cleaner so keeping a home sparkling clean is my thing - I also love mowing lawns. We both love to walk and do lengthier hikes & can be found in the mornings trying to beat each other at Wordle & Quordle. We are both people who take pride and care not only in our home (including the grounds) but any home we visit or stay in. We absolutely both respect your home is your castle, that your pets are your joy and we want you to go away knowing we will love your animals and care for them & your house (and grounds if required) so you can just relax. We both have the ability to work anywhere with a good internet connection. Depending on which one of us is working we will always have plenty of time to love, pet, cuddle, brush or walk your pet(s).

Hi, we're two active retirees who lost our wee mate, 14yr old Cavoodle, Riley, last year. So we are now doing a bit of travelling before committing again. Meanwhile, we've been getting our "doggie fix" from minding dogs for our friends, neighbours and even a motor home park which included two samoyeds! Prior to retiring, Ian has managed Waste and Transport companies and owned his own business and Pam has worked in the Airline Industry for the last 30 plus years. We both enjoy lots of outdoor exercise including dog walking, kayaking and mountain biking. We have done numerous house/pet sits already. We are loving the experiences, especially spending longer periods of time in different towns, cities and even the remotest areas getting to know neighbours and locals. We've also enjoyed some "sits" in Australia recently too. Our own home and garden are kept extremely neat and tidy so be assured we would take great care of your property.

Hi there, My name is Nancy and I am a clean living and retired lady. I have 2 daughters who are both married with children (3 Grandchildren) and I have had my own businesses in Takapuna, Auckland, selling antiques and old jewellery. I retired from this in 2009. I also owned and managed a Motor Inn in Brisbane, Australia. I have owned and managed my own houses most of my life and I have always had a cat (unfortunately had to have my most recent pussy cat put down last year at a ripe old age of 15years. His name was William and he was an Ocicat). I am extremely responsible, love animals and any homeowner could expect their pets to be loved and cherished just as if they were my own and your property well maintained, kept secure and clean and tidy. I keep very fit and active and enjoy walking, so if you have any dogs that require this I will be very happy to take them out with me. Thank you for taking the time to consider my online profile and I hope to meet with you and your fur babies soon. Warmest, Nancy.

I am a 40 year-old professional, single woman, well-traveled, multilingual. I have been in NZ for 14 years (I am an NZ citizen) and would love to own my house one day but we all know how hard it is to get into the housing market at the moment so I thought house sitting would be a great opportunity to both save money towards buying a house, get to experience living in various areas of Auckland and have the company of pets I would love to have myself, but can not afford at the moment (very hard to have pets when renting). I love animals, I grew up with animals and house pets (from sheep, cows, pigs and poultry to rabbits), we always had dogs and cats so I am very familiar to looking after almost any animal and enjoy their company very much. Personally, I am independent, mature, honest and responsible, highly organized, very clean and tidy, respectful and resourceful and can live out of a suitcase :) I am highly active and walking/running the dogs would not be a chore :) I grew up in a house, then owned an apartment, so I am familiar with looking after a house/garden/plants and animals. Please have a look through my references and feel free to call the referees who will be more than happy to provide you with more information about my character and skills as house sitter/pet minder. I would love to meet you and your pets and hope that you will consider me as your house sitter.

Hi Homeowners, we are Henk and San-Marie, a quiet and professional couple in their 60’s. Henk still works full-time from home as an IT professional and San-Marie is retired. We are busy building our forever home. During this time we are wanting to travel our beautiful country in a way that can be of meaning to us and others, we know the importance of having somebody looking after your home and animals responsibly. Henk enjoy Fly fishing as his main get away from work which give San-Marie the opportunity to photograph the beautiful surroundings. We also enjoy gardening, walking and craft. Henk as a woodworker and tinkerer and San-Marie as a needle woman, journal writer and scrapbooker. Therefore, we hope to combine all of this in the form of housesitting for people who need to take a break and have a time away from their own home with peace of mind, knowing somebody responsible is looking out for their home and animals. We have had cats and dogs of our own over the years. We also helped neighbours when they went away to care for them. We often have to baby sit our furry grandchildren that is a Labradoodle called Whiskey and a Ragdoll cat called Willow. We realise that we will have to leave them home while we are on our adventure. We understand that the needs of dogs and cats are different but the common factor is love, attention and feeding. We are happy to take the animals for a walk when and as it is accustomed to as much as we are able too. We love wild birds and had a water bowl and feeding tray in the garden. Looked after a bunny and some hamsters of a neighbour. We are not scared of farm animals, have rented a property many years ago where we had to make sure there was water in the throughs and kept an eye on the animals in the paddocks surrounding our home. We hope we can meet soon to make it possible for you to go away with a peaceful heart.

We have our own home in Rodney district. We are pretty much retired. Lesley is a registered nurse and Richard a freelance IT specialist doing occasional work from home. At the moment our 2 children in their twenties are in the UK. Circumstances make it necessary for us to return to the UK from May 23rd to September 12th so we will be unavailable during that period. We are pretty much home birds and are very happy to chill and read or make friends with your lovely pets. We have house sat before for a variety of pets - cats, chickens, fish, dogs - and very much enjoyed this. The main reason being that we are animal lovers and Lesley especially is feeling pet deprived at the moment since having to put down our most adored cat Ginger 18 months ago. We have taken the decision not to replace him at for the moment so she has become that annoying person that has to pet everybody's dog on the beach and talk to every cat in the street! We are mature responsible people who totally understand the need to feel that your home and pets are being properly looked after and treated with respect and would be very happy to do this.

I am an active, retired, widowed man, a non drinker, or smoker, and take pride in my appearance, and care for other people's property, and pets, as though they were my own. My interests include, walking, volunteering, gardening, sports. and to enjoy whatever life has to bring me. My reason for house sitting is assist others to have time away from home, and know their animals are cared for and treated as they deserve to be, with much love. I can offer homeowners trust, respect, and genuine care for their property, and animals, and a high standard of cleanliness in their home when they return.

I would describe myself as a mature, sensible, trustworthy person with great communication skills. My reason for housesitting in the Auckland/Gisborne area is to be able to develop connections for a charity I founded in Romania in 2001. I have committed the next 2 years to being in a more 'hands-on' role though from afar. This means being available for speaking engagements etc. Because I work remotely this allows me to be flexible. I am currently nearing the end of a 3 month housesit caring for a lovely home in Remuera and a delicious cat, Mia. My own cat, Oscar, sadly passed away earlier this year so it has been extra lovely to have a fur-baby to care for. As your house sitter you can expect to feel confident that I am caring for your home/pets as you would.

Hello there! I'm Angus McDougall, a lively individual with a passion for housesitting and a background in Marketing. Having been a homeowner with my ex-husband, I discovered the joys of housesitting during the process of selling our house in Auckland, spanning from Orakei to Pt Chev. This experience sparked a newfound appreciation for the diversity of homes and neighbourhoods across the region. In my professional life, I work in Marketing, and fortunately, my job allows me flexibility. I spend two to three days a week in the office, with the rest of the time working remotely. This flexibility enables me to dedicate time to housesitting, providing homeowners with peace of mind knowing their home is in reliable hands. My housesitting journey began during the home-selling process, and since then, I've become a seasoned housesitter, having covered various locations from Orakei to Pt Chev. I particularly enjoy the opportunity to bond with pets; cats and dogs have been constant companions in the homes I've cared for, and I've found great joy in their company. Friendly animals are an absolute winner in my book! My commitment to being a reliable and responsible housesitter extends to caring for pets. Whether it's feeding, walking, or simply providing companionship, I ensure that each furry friend feels loved and secure in their home environment. I understand the importance of maintaining routines and giving pets the attention they need. Choosing me as your housesitter means welcoming a responsible and tidy individual into your home. I take pride in maintaining a clean and organised living space, almost showhome-ready. Importantly, I recognise the significance of ensuring your house looks lived in while you're away, enhancing security measures. Professionalism is key in both my marketing career and housesitting endeavours. I'm a non-smoker and non-drinker, contributing to a healthy and respectful living environment. With my flexible work schedule, I can ensure that your home is not only well-cared for but also lived in, preventing it from feeling vacant. Beyond housesitting, I am actively involved in the Rainbow Games as a board member, demonstrating my commitment to community engagement and inclusivity. Additionally, I use my free time to create engaging TikToks focused on fashion and beauty (don't worry I won't be dancing around the place!), bringing a creative touch to my daily routine. In essence, choosing me as your housesitter means gaining a trustworthy, pet-loving, and responsible caretaker who will treat your home with the utmost respect and care.

Hi! We're Danielle and Eamonn. We started house-sitting through family friends, and found that we loved it! We love getting to know different suburbs and different pets. Eamonn is a massive dog lover (but Danielle won't let him get one yet), so house-sitting satisfies his canine cravings. Danielle is the cat lover in the relationship, so between us, we've got pets covered! Our motto is to always leave a house-sit better than we found it. Whether it's your pet, your kitchen or your garden you most need looking after, we are proud to always leave it happier, cleaner or greener than when you left. We are really grateful for every house sit we attend and understand that it is your home - so if you have any specific requirements (which most people do), do let us know. Let us know if you have any questions or need more information - we are always happy to help. Danielle and Eamonn

Hello, We are a middle-aged married couple from England and New Zealand, and we love travelling, nature, and art. We are both writers, working in the tourism sector, and we met in beautiful Bali where we have been living since 1998 and 2006. We have travelled extensively in Indonesia, including trips to some of the country's remotest corners. We have been together for 15 years, we got married in New Zealand in 2021, and we are now living our dream dividing our time between Bali and New Zealand with a little bit of England and Europe thrown in along the way. We spend five months in Bali each year, one month in Europe and the UK, and six months in New Zealand from December to June. We invite guests to stay in our house in Bali and do home exchanges when we are in New Zealand and Europe, hence us looking for some more places to stay in New Zealand. We are both animal lovers, having rescued numerous cats and dogs off the streets in Bali over the many years that we have lived here. They all became much loved members of our respective households until our last cat and finally our last dog crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago. We miss them terribly but when we made the lifestyle change to divide our time between Bali and New Zealand, we made the decision not to get any more pets. However, our love and respect for animals has not diminished and that is why we look forward to looking after other people's pets. We both work from home so will be around nearly all day every day to give your animals all the love and attention they need. What you will get with us is two very caring, professional, respectful people who understand the need for absolute trust on both sides when looking after other people’s cherished homes and beloved pets. We have ample experience with having people staying in our home and us staying in theirs, so we understand and respect how all of this works and what is expected. Not only that, we are very friendly, easy to get on with and extremely low maintenance. Let us look after your home and your animals, and rest assured that everything will be in good hands. Regards, Michael & Rachel

I am 42yrs old and a great Cat fan. I work at a Call Centre and unfortunately am not allowed a cat at my current flat in Mt Eden. I've grown up with cats all my life and always consider it a treat when I get to spend time with a local cat or dog when out walking. I have housesat for friends in the past which has involved pet sitting, dog walking, cat feeding etc. In choosing me to keep your cat/s dog/s company and fed, you're choosing a temporary friend for your them, not just a carer.

Available Jan 23 - March 8, 2024. We are on an extended trip throughout NZ. Along the way, we would love to take care of your home and animals. We have a flexible timeline and a vehicle. ...a little about us. I am a NZ'er and a retired educator. Peter is canadian and a retired computer engineer. Our home base is on a small island in western Canada. We are homeowners and fully understand the housesitting social contract and responsibilities. We currently have trustworthy housesitters in our home while we are away. Peter and I, make a great housesitting team. I take the lead with the animal and home care, Peter supports me by playing with the pets and cuddle time. He also leads our dog walking explorations into nature. As our three children grew, our home was full of much loved animals. We had two family cats and two family dogs. Oliver, the cat was much loved in the neighbourhood. During the day he would sit by the gate, greet people, and beg for a pat. During the evening, when he was not snuggled up next to the dog, or swatting her tail, he would find a lap and stay there purring. He stayed in our family for 20 years. Lassie, a border collie/lab/husky cross is perhaps the most acclaimed of all our family pets. Our children still talk of her with great love. We adopted her when she was two years old. She 'heeled' with the click of a finger and kept guard over our children when they were young. She was the most amazing and lovable dog - her photo has an honoured place in our home. In the past, we have cared for cats, dogs, sheep, pigs, bees, chickens, ducks, fischers parrot, rabbits, and hamsters. The key in caring for pets is to have established expectations: food and exercise routines/cuddle times and ensure that animals have ample fresh water everyday. We love all animals and plants and can turn my hand to most tasks involved in caring for them. Also, I might add that I enjoy exploring regenerative agriculture concepts. I am a founding director of School Orchards Africa Society, in Tanzania. Having built our home and hobby farm, Peter is familiar with most house systems, on and off grid. He is a good guitar player. We are happy to zoom chat with you regarding your home and animals needs. WhatsApp works too. Kind regards, Linda

Kia ora :) Antoine is from France and Pauline from Belgium, we have been in New Zealand respectively 3 and 10 years. Pauline studies full time in auckland so is bound to the city during school term. Antoine remotely works for a company based in Dunedin. Antoine's flexibility for work means he can travel around a bit. We currently live in Warkworth. Depending on the place and time, we could both be house siting or just one of us, eg auckland only for Pauline during school term. We had several experience house sitting friend's places and recently took up pet sitting to a more serious level :) We love animals but we are not in a position to have some at the moment, and we like to move around, so we thought house sitting would be a good opportunity to meet both those things. If there are cats involved, they won't be cuddle deprived as Antoine is crazy about them. We are both trained in permaculture, love gardening and work as gardeners and looking after properties so can easily keep an eye on your property. We have both lived on farms, so we are familiar with cows and sheep but have never looked after them per se Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Hi there, We are Adam and Eszter, a friendly couple in our late 30s. We are originally from Hungary, but have been living in New Zealand for more than 6 years. We are NZ citizens. I, Adam, grew up on a lifestyle farm on the countryside, where I had the chance of playing with and taking care of many types of animals mainly cats, dogs, chickens, ducks and pigs. We also often went around to check out the neighbors' sheep, cows and horses. I believe that my sensible personality makes me a good match to many kinds of animals. Also my family has long line of gardeners, and I also inherited a bit of the green thumb. My profession is IT engineer working at FoodStuffs 9-5 as a Data Insights Manager. As an engineer I also enjoy being the handyman around the house, and I like to get involved in DIY project in my free time. I, Eszter, am from a mid-size city of Hungary. My mother is from a small farm, where I had the pleasure of spending my childhood summers. I loved the various kinds of animals, cats, dogs, chicken and horses, and all the works around the house. I did spend most of my time outside which I enjoy doing to this day. I enjoy connecting with friendly animals, helping in the garden and around the house, and going on long walks in the nature. I am a dedicated yoga practitioner and a Senior IT Project Manager, working 9-5 on weekdays with the option of working from home. We are caring and responsible people who want to help out families like yours by looking after your pets and property while you are away, just as how we did for many others before. We are experienced pet sitters with several lovely stories to share, and happy to help you out with other activities around the house. Please feel free to get in touch with our references who will happily vouch for our character and skills by sharing their own personal experience with us. We would love to meet you and your pets and hope that you will consider us as your house sitters. Eszter and Adam Horvath

Hi! Great to meet you! Our names are Erroll and Roman. In the photos, Erroll has dark brown hair, and Roman has blonde hair. A bit about us both... Roman grew up on a farm in Czech Republic, and so has experience in caring for animals, including: cats, dogs, sheep, cows, pigs, horses and pigeons. Yes, Roman has trained pigeons! :) Erroll grew up in a big family (14 Aunties!) in Wellington (NZ) and often babysat his younger cousins. His family had two dogs and two cats, while he had his own pet turtle! These days he looks after his family's homes and pets while they are away, as well as babysitting for his four nephews. We love to travel - see photos for some of our adventures around New Zealand. We take pride in being clean and tidy! We enjoy cooking meals. But we are also active people, love to hike and swim. So, if you have a dog, they can come for walks with us! We are non-smokers. Feel free to reach out. Happy to meet in person or chat on the phone any time before housesitting. Talk soon :)

Hi there! I am a responsible and trustworthy professional who has recently returned from 9 months overseas, I love the outdoors and have a conservation background. At the moment I am not currently working while I job search and figure out this next stage of my career! Hence, I have lots of time to keep your pets company. I own a car so I am available to travel to remote areas and am happy to take your pets on regular walks if needed. I have built up lots of housesitting experience now, both in the UK and before I left my travels I did many housesits from which I had excellent experiences! I have references for these NZ housesits if needed. So far I have looked after small- to larger dogs, cats, guinea pigs, dwarf hamsters and a frog! I am happy to care for animals that need a bit more attention or have medication that they need to take daily. I am more than happy to connect with you further to answer any questions you may have so that you feel confident that your house and animals will be taken good care of.

Hello! My name is Sarah and I am a 42 year old woman who has been going through …
Hello! My name is Sarah and I am a 42 year old woman who has been going through cancer treatment this year, thankfully with a positive outcome. I have worked in Education as either and English teacher, a relief teacher and/or tutor for 16 years, and started studying towards becoming a counsellor in 2022. I also have a nearly 21 year old daughter who I raised as a solo mum. I am intending to housesit as I move forward from a challenging year, hopefully to have enjoyable experiences in new places and step outside my comfort zone, and I also hope to save money for travel and for the future. I have had pets since I was a child. We always had cats in our family which have included a girl called cuddles one of her kittens, Garfield, as sweet girl called patch who was white with a couple of black patches and a black tail, and two girls, Mocca, and Cino, the latter who has been my my comfort and support while going through cancer treatment. My daughter and I also had our own cat who found us, who was the biggest smooch, I have known who I miss terribly. My family, growing up also had a golden retriever called, Zoe, and a budgie called Moses, and my daughter and I also had our own budgie called Mika, and we had a couple of fish called Bubbles and Scales when my daughter was younger. Hopefully, this gives you an idea that I have plenty of experiences looking after pets! I have had one experience of housesitting, which was early this year, looking after two male labradoodle puppies, and two cats while the family were overseas for three weeks. There was an issue with the puppies, which I resolved and the couple were thankful for how things were handled. I looked after their greenhouse during this period which required a lot of care. I see being able to live in and look after someone's home as privilege and would endeavour to care for the property how I would wish someone to look after my own. I think a discussion about expectations of what is important to the family is in an important part of that, so that if there are any particular needs or concerns that is clear from the beginning, especially if pets are being looked after. Pets are part of the family, so I would treat them with the love and care they deserve, just like I would with my own.

Kia Ora We are Aline & Tony, a French/Kiwi couple who deeply love animals and their company! That's even how we met 4 years ago, working together for the SPCA in Rarotonga, Cook Islands. We managed the local SPCA for a year and really enjoyed helping all animals around the island even though there were some tough, sad stories as you can imagine. We decided after that to offer our pet sitting services as we couldn't see ourselves living without furry interaction. Dream job in Raro right! Who wouldn't like walking dogs along the beautiful beach & lagoon with on average 25°C?! Sadly with the pandemic and the borders shut, we have both lost our jobs and had to come back to NZ! We have been house sitting full time in Auckland since December 2021 and are loving it. We get to meet lots of furries and see different parts of the city! We have received many 5* reviews that we will gladly share with you. We are a quiet, mature, trustworthy and respectful couple who will cover your pets with love and take great care of your property, leaving it very neat and tidy. We look forward to meeting you
Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to read our profile. Our names are Ch…
Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to read our profile. Our names are Charlotte (Lottie) Jepson and James O'Hern, we're both 30 years old and originally from the UK. We've been in New Zealand for over 3 years and we're looking to make this wonderful country our home. We've fallen in love with the place and see ourselves living here long term. The reason for house sitting at the moment is because we've been travelling regularly between the UK and NZ in the last 12 months. Due to the shorter stints in NZ, usually 8-12 weeks at a time, getting a lease on a house for short periods is challenging and we'd prefer to spend time with friends, camping or housesitting which offers more variety and flexibility for us. Our interests are hiking, camping, cycling, surfing, reading, cooking and travelling overseas - almost anything outdoorsy. Between us we've had a several pets of our own, completed a number of housesits, and regularly look after relatives pets, so we have a lot of experience looking after animals and making sure they're well fed, cleaned, walked, loved and rested - plus we all keep each other company which is just as important. We're both able to work remotely, so we're always able to stay at home for long periods of the day to look after pets. If you choose us to look after your pet(s) and home, they will be in safe hands. We're a clean and organised so we can stay on top of managing the house will make sure things get done on time. We're also aware that regular updates and good communication will help you enjoy your time away. We're respectful and mindful of the space we're using so you'll find the house in the same condition when you return home. We're happy to share any further information or chat things through on the phone or via video call to get to know each other before making a decision. Thanks for considering our profile, we hope to see you soon. James & Lottie

I am a single/separated 46yo professional (Senior Management) that enjoy travelling and experiencing new towns/cities and cultures. I've been house sitting for a colleague for the last 5 months and decided I love the lifestyle, and with the work flexibility I have, I want to make the most of it as long as possible and save up for a big overseas trip. I love animals and connect easily with them. I grew up with and cared for a variety of animals (farm + domestic). Also open to look after animals I haven't dealt with previously. I am healthy, fitness oriented and neat, and do my best to keep my surrounding environment the same. As a house sitter, you can expect your animals, house and its contents to be treated with respect and kept neat and tidy.

Hi, I'm Jess and my partner's name is Sam. We are NZ permanent residents, originally from the UK. We have been living in NZ now for almost 7 years; 5 in Auckland and a year and a half in Queenstown. We are just coming to the end of a few months abroad visiting friends and family after Covid and will be needing to search for jobs before putting down any permanent roots in one location. Both of us grew up in very animal-orientated households. My parents work for animal charities and so we were forever taking in strays or fostering. We each have extensive experience with cats and dogs, and would be comfortable with other animals if needed. Any homeowner could expect us to be respectful of their home and responsible with the care of their furry family members. We have a whole life in Auckland already so would treat your house with the same respect as we treat our own while we go about trying to slot back into a working routine.

I'm a 34 year old women who works in the FMCG business. I currently do a mix of 3 days working from home and 2 days in the office (located by the airport). I am able to move around freely with my laptop. I enjoy seeing my friends, crochet and reading. For the past 3 years I have been living alone in Mt Eden. I would like to start house-sitting as I would like the option of keeping my independence and saving money. I have a lot of house and pet sitting experience. I have looked after both cats and dogs and absolutely love animals. I am responsible and sensible while keeping things nice and clean.

My name is Ursula, I am a translator and work from home. I am originally from Germany, have been a New Zealand resident for 30 years and lived in Nelson and Auckland. Recently I returned to NZ after two years overseas, I plan to stay until March ´24. Shortly after I returned to Germany 2 years ago a feral starved cat showed up at my property. I did feed her with the intention to find her a home. Soon she had 4 kittens in tow and I fed all of them with the intention to take them to the SPCA. 3 kittens were castrated but I was told they could not be homed because they were free runners and needed to stay in their territory. Their territory is next to my home at the end of a village. 3 kittens were poisoned, the mother and her son have been living with me ever since (see photos). They are well looked after while I am away and I miss them.

We both are responsible and enthusiastic animal lovers. We are clean freaks (in the best way) and enjoy an active lifestyle. We are proud homeowners who love to travel. Mitch is training to join the police force and would like a buddy to join him on his runs. He grew up on a farm and has extensive experience with all sorts of animals (big & small, healthy & disabled, tame & wild). Kate is a bookworm that needs someone to keep her company while she gets lost in her next big read. Hailing from Namibia, this is her fifth country of residence in her 26 years. She grew up petting cheetahs and lived to tell the tale. We both work from home at least twice a week (Mitch can work remotely whenever he wants, Kate is not so lucky). We are both looking for animals to love while their parents are adventuring around the world (or in their backyard, we aren't picky).

Hi, my name is Jenny. I have sold my home in Hawkes Bay where I lived for most of my life and I have just relocated to the South Island. I am staying with family in Waimate at the moment while I look for another house and job (in the education field). I'm enjoying the flexibility and freedom of having a break between jobs. l am available for short and longer term pet sits and I am keen to explore different parts of the South Island. My own pets have included Buddy, a 'rescue' Labrador, Lucky, a feisty budgie, Penny, a baby pigeon I raised for a year (found fallen out of the nest by the dog), goldfish, and a frog. I have looked after my neighbour's cat when they were away, and recently looked after a little fox terrier called Poppy for a few days while her family were away in Nelson. I am a tidy person by nature, healthy, non-smoker, and you can expect that I would take good care of your home and animals. I have my own reliable vehicle. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have to see if we're a good fit as I understand that your pets are precious to you and are part of your family. I would be happy to send regular updates with photos if you would like this, and will follow your instructions for their care so you can relax and enjoy your time away. Jenny

Hiya, my name is Meg and I am an osteopath working in a clinic in Point Chevalier. I am currently saving for a house and I’ve found house sitting is the best way to do this. I have lots of experience house-sitting with cats and dogs in various different homes around Auckland, for varying lengths of time. I am a young professional who is responsible, clean & tidy, and committed. I enjoy playing squash, skiing, and going to the gym and I love being outdoors. I used to own a cleaning business which is a bonus too! Alongside being an osteo, I do a lot of babysitting and nannying as I love to be around kids. I have a big family made up of Mum & Dad, my three brothers and their partners, and me. When I am not working you can find me with them. I also have three baby nephews who I love to spend time with and being an Aunty is the biggest blessing ever!

Hi, My partner and I are responsible people who have done a lot of traveling. We understand the importance of trust when it comes to house sitting, this is because we are homeowners ourselves and business owners. We have joined house sitters to make it possible for us to travel to different regions more. I also grew up on a farm and my family ran SPCA for our region, as well as operating our Cattery. I also have a lot of other experience with animals. We look forward to chatting with you about house sitting at your place!

We are a professional, reliable and trustworthy couple in our 40's, both originally from the UK who met while living in Western Australia for the last 10 years. We are both homeowners and fully understand the importance of taking care of your home and belongings and treating them with care and respect. We are passionate about animals and have had dogs and cats (and chickens) of our own when living in the UK, and while living in Australia we fostered, house sat and did long term dog sitting in our home. We also raised and trained a gorgeous 6-month-old Labrador x retriever to become an assistance dog for the Western Australian Assistance and Therapy Trust, who required a lot of training and work towards confidence building and being calm in everyday situations. At the same time we also had our 2 long term dog borders, 2 wonderful Labradors who we had for over 2 years on a 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off basis, for their owner who was a FIFO worker. We are experienced with highly active dogs, having been brought up with Springer Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels and Labradors. We are also experienced with dogs who may be timid and require extra confidence, having had a Labrador who was very unsure of the world, taking a lot of patience, care and love to bring her out of her shell and allowing her to experience the world at her own pace. We are both experienced in looking after your feline members of the family also. I had a cat, Jade, when I moved out of my family home, who was truly spoilt and lived to the grand old age of 22 years, and since being in Australia and here in New Zealand, we have done multiple house sits for cats, and have enjoyed getting to know their personalities and quirks. Avid outdoor fans, who love to hike, swim, ride, camp and run (Greg, not me on that one!!). Our dogs go everywhere we go and are included as part of the family on our adventures. Your animals will be loved and cared for as if they were our own for the time that we are with them. Greg works from home and will be on hand for daily needs, and I work shifts as a Paramedic, and am home for 6 days out of 8. We have experience in looking after animals of all ages and happy to dispense medications and treat any medical needs. We have moved to New Zealand to experience the beauty of the country, have some adventures, meet new people and open ourselves up to new experiences. We are continuing to work in our specialist fields and are looking to house sit, to experience the different areas that Auckland has to offer before settling down in our forever home.

I'm a trustworthy, mature, single woman, currently working remotely as a support…
I'm a trustworthy, mature, single woman, currently working remotely as a support worker for Victim Support based at Manukau Police Station. I have undergone police vetting to be able to complete this work so you can rest assured your home, pets and all personal belongings will be well looked after and respected. I am a farm girl at heart so not afraid of anything more than the care of usual domestic animals. I have some 30+ years experience with dog and cat care as a pet owner myself, and in a previous life maintained a healthy tropical fish aquarium. I am happy to incorporate doggy walks etc as part of my own fitness activities (usually a morning or evening walk) or provide animal care more specific to your pet needs. House and pet sitting have been a way to create win-win situations for both parties and has also helped me to manage work/life balance better while studying extramurally towards a masters degree over the past few months. I am flexible in terms of location and ok to travel providing the sit duration makes relocating worthwhile. I have a preference for North Island based sits but will consider a South Island sit if you are ok for me to use your vehicle (to do local grocery shopping) for the duration of the sit. I have completed most of my house and pet sits either privately or via the Kiwihousesitters website (more references are available via Kiwihousesitters website). Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. Hopefully I'll get to meet you and your pets soon :)

Hi there!! I am a 48 year old professional worker in the Search and Rescue sector, single/male and just back in the area after 5 years travelling the country with previous employment. I am looking forward to returning to Auckland and found that housesitting worked for me for the 5 years previously I was based here. I take a great deal of care and pride to ensure the property and pets I am entrusted with is cared for and looked after to the best of my ability. I do not mind a bit of additional effort to keep this clean/tidy. My 12 hour shift work may not be ideal for some pets though, it is a 4 days on/4 days off roster. My honesty and integrity are forefront of my daily routines, I get on well with all and have a genuine positive approach towards life. If selected I will respect your wishes regarding use of property and care for your beloved pets, I will arrive and depart at the times agreed to, undertake any other roes as agreed upon, and I will ensure that you come back to a clean and welcoming home. I love to travel and wish to experience the freedom and variety that housesitting offers. I grew up learning to respect and care for one's property and look after all those under the roof - pets included. I have looked after properties for friends, family and work associates over the years and cared for their pets, property and gardens. Thank you for taking the time to consider my online profile and I hope to hear from you shortly. Kind regards Johnny

Hello, I’m Kate; here is a little about me. I am a Teacher and have had the good fortune to have been able to travel the world with my career. I’m originally from Nelson. During the last 25 years, I have lived and worked in London, Bangkok, HCMC, Shanghai, and Beijing. It has all been an exciting adventure. While living and working in Vietnam and China, I looked after friends’ pups and then went on to foster many dogs. I found a tiny puppy on the street in Shanghai. He lived with me for three years and turned out to be a big dog. His name is Paddy. Sadly, I could not bring him back to New Zealand with me. I found him a great and loving home and have regular contact with his 2nd Mummy. I will always be 1st Mummy. I am sure you will understand how heartbreaking it was separating from him. I am currently living in Auckland and am keen to see more of NZ particularly the South Island. I am available for house sits all over NZ during the school holidays. During the last two years I have been pet and house sitting regularly. I love dogs and cats. I am a keen walker and love finding new places to walk. The only thing that is missing is a furry freind. I am clean and tidy and enjoy healthy living. I am a non-smoker.

We are a couple who have had many moves over the years due to family commitments. We do not own our own home, but we love seeing different parts of the country. We are animal lovers and love to relax, read and roam a little. We have three adult daughters, one granddaughter and just love the fresh air, fossicking for unusual stones on beaches and river beds. We have house sat many times and caring for pets is just another enjoyable facet of housesitting. We are reliable, responsible and considerate towards the home and homeowners.

Hello, we introduce ourselves, we are a couple, we have been together for six years, I am a preschool teacher and my partner is an electronic technician. We like to drink with friends on beaches and squares, we have a dog named Diana, she couldn't accompany us on this trip. We like animals and spending time with them, I had experience as a dog walker and on weekends some stayed with me while families vacationed and I loved that. We are a stable couple, responsible and very careful, I am a teacher, with experience.

I am a hardworking, professional, single female with a love for nature. I have been house sitting for over 3 years now so have lots of great references. I am a non smoker, and live an active lifestyle. I have a current Police check for your peace of mind if required. (working in the cattery department) I am very clean, respectful and tidy -I love a good spring clean! I like being in the garden so happy to tend to the garden/lawn pot plants etc. I like to keep fit and love the outdoors so will happily walk your pets however often they require, and will send you daily/regular updates/pictures of your fur babies! I work in the CBD in Marketing and my general day routine is work from 9-5 and quiet evenings in cooking, reading and netflixing! I work from home 2 days a week.Weekends are just spent relaxing, walking, meeting friends/family for lunch etc. I grew up with cats and have previously owned a northern Inuit and a boxer dog. Single professional, non-smoker, caring, reliable, and trustworthy. Hello, I have been housesitting for over 7 yrs now and have been so fortunate to have stayed in many lovely homes in Bay of Plenty, Taupo & Auckland. The gorgeous pets I have cared for include cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, sheep, chickens, cows, and guinea pigs. (I do prefer to look after cats as I can go to work during the day, if you have a dog that can be left for day that may work too). I love meeting new pets and especially love to catch up with wee friends I have cared for in the past. I absolutely adore cats and dogs, and have met some very interesting characters along the way! and I look forward to meeting many more. I grew up with a Cat and dog, and just love their company and playing with them, and don't mind at all if they snuggle up in bed. I'm also happy to administer medication and flea treatments etc. and take your wee friend to the vet if required. I can assure you that your house will be spotless on your return and I will treat it as if it were my own home, I'm quite the perfectionist. More than happy to water plants etc. and really whatever else needs to be done, you only have to ask. I do like to bring my own food and other essential items for the duration of my stay. I can also provide my own bed linen and towels etc. should this be required. It is essential that you have fast, reliable wifi - unlimited, as I do work from home on a regular basis. Whilst your away I will keep in regular contact via text, Messenger or WhatsApp with a brief update and a photo or 2. Please contact me should you have any questions, more than happy to discuss options. Where possible it's nice to meet with the homeowner and pet/s in person, or via messenger, zoom etc. prior to the housesit. Please contact me for availability, I look forward to meeting with you. Take Care Rima

Hey there, I am very much hoping that you choose me to house sit your home, i am responsible, reliable, clean, trustworthy and very respectful. I am a home bodied sort of person and enjoy reading, drawing, watching docos and cooking good food in my down time. I am a chef by trade but am currently working as a gardener/ landscaper as well as a few art projects on the side, so if your garden needs tending to I'll be more than happy to help. I absolutely love all animals and grew up having a few cats and dogs. I have house sat for people in the past but have never used this website to do so. If you choose me you can expect your furry friend (s) to be showered and bathed in love, cuddles and good times. ( if you have pets of cause) otherwise, you can expect your home to be completely and utterly respected and cherished and left in the exact order you left it in. I have just returned home after a year or so travelling overseas and am just looking for my options in terms of accommodation. I heard about this website and thought I'd give it a go. I look forward to hearing from you soon, take care and many thanks. Gemma :)

I love animals and would look after your pets, home and garden with great care and respect. I am an experienced house sitter and pet minder, I also spent a year house sitting while in Melbourne. Hello, We are Christine & David Eyre a couple of expat poms now well and truly settled in God’s own South Island 20 years ago, with children and grandchildren in both hemispheres. Currently no pets as we enjoy the freedom but we have lots of experience having previously owned dogs, cats, fish, rabbits, hamster’s mice and even an elderly tortoise. You will find us a reliable, caring Christian couple, both currently working part time in the IT and Health professions. Christine and I enjoy travel, walking, cycling and swimming, but also can spend time with a good book or two; practical and quite handy in the garden we had a pool in our last home. Having brought up three children we now have a wee bit of freedom to travel, although we enjoy our beautiful home in Tahunanui we would love the opportunity to care for your home and pets in your community and explore further our beautiful country. We are a newly married couple who both have had past housesitting experience as well as pet care experience, having looked after a variety of pets from, dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish and a turtle. Both of us have an affinity towards dogs, but would lovingly look after any pets who need cuddles in your absence. Jacob works full-time as a builder and Ebony studies part-time through Massey University and works part-time. Ebony often studies from home in the mornings and works in the afternoons, which means she would be home for a good portion of the day to ensure your pets have plenty of company. We are both mature and reliable individuals, and as sitters you can expect good communications, pet lovers who will follow your instructions, oodles of cuddles for your pets and a tidy well kept home for you to return to. We look forward to meeting you and your pets very soon. Warm regards Ebony & Jacob

Kia Ora, We are a couple in our thirties who are settling in to New Zealand from abroad (Aimee from Australia, Tetteh from the US). We met in London 6 years ago, and are very much enjoying living in beautiful Aotearoa. We are enjoying house sitting as we love the opportunity to see different parts of the country, love animals, and have flexibility given we largely work from home. We are both working professionals - Aimee is a Social Worker having spent the last 13 years working in the criminal justice system, and Tetteh is a Forensic Psychologist. Tetteh also has a education background and has previously worked as a University Lecturer in Forensic Psychology, however is also a qualified Psychologist. He is currently contracting to organisations doing training and facilitation, one on one therapy, and group therapy for those with substance use issues. Aimee also works from home and contracts to Ministry of Justice completing court reports for criminal courts, as well as doing training and facilitation and restorative practice with tertiary institutions and organisations. We both largely work from home, however do have face to face meetings or workshops in town a few times per week. We both come from homes where we have adored our pets. Aimee grew up with cats, and has a family cat named Sunny who is the family princess and adored by everyone. Tetteh is a HUGE animal lover, and takes up every opportunity to spend time with family and friends who have animals (particularly dogs!). We are both very responsible people who do not smoke, are outgoing and trustworthy, and happy to ensure all steps are taken to ensure your animals and property are adequately cared for. If we are chosen as house sitters for your property, we can guarantee your home and animals will be in very safe and capable hands. We are both extremely approachable, pro-active and respectful individuals who understand the trust that goes into allowing others to stay in your property and care for your loved ones. We are very responsive and are happy to provide very regular updates on your home and animals, as well as to provide any reassurance that might be needed :) We are super happy to meet you - either in person or in Skype - to discuss any questions there might be, or any other info! Hope to speak with you soon, Aimee and Tetteh

Hi there, We are a professional couple (both Deputy Principals) with 2 young children (8yrs and 5yrs). We are active, love the outdoors and love animals. We are happy to look after any pets. Our youngest child is very gentle with pets, as is our eldest who is very used to animals. She likes to help us feed, wash and take care of them, and where appropriate, take them for walks. Rochelle was bought up on a farm and is comfortable with livestock and farm dogs. We have had pets before, including 2 shih tzu dogs, which we bred from for a number of years, so are used to dogs of all ages. We are also equally comfortable looking after cats. We maintain a clean and tidy household and will respect any property that we are in. We will take great care of your home and love your pets like our own. We have had a number of house sits now and all of our reviews have been excellent. Kind Regards, Shane and Rochelle

Myself and my husband have traveled to NZ for an extended stay to visit our daughter and her family. We have a large flock of ducks at home in Ireland that we care for and have had cats and dogs over the years. We have alot of experience looking after our neighbour's small holding which includes chickens, ducks, pigs and dogs. We would really like the opportunity to house sit as a way to keep it interesting and varied while we are staying in New Zealand. We are happy to walk dogs, cut lawns, water plants and put out bins.

In my most recent housesits in New Zealand, I used my experience of growing up with animals and my pet-loving and caring nature to support owners to feel at ease whilst they were away on their holiday. I am a strong relationship builder and communicator and am able to quickly build rapport with you and your pets. I value building an encouraging, positive and friendly environment with everyone I meet. An example of this is when I recently housesat in Wellington and looked after several chickens. As I do not eat eggs, I quickly made friends with some neighbours by sharing them so they did not go to waste. Alfie the dog and I were soon invited along for evening walks and morning coffees. I always make sure to send you regular photos of your pets having fun and being cared for as I know you’ll be worrying about and missing them. With my years of staying in housesitting, houseshares and living in tiny homes, I pride myself on keeping a clean home. An example of this is organising myself with a weekly cleaning rota where I split the tasks up over the week to break down the tasks and keep on top. I am also a keen gardener, growing vegetables and flowers from seed to table and caring for a variety of cacti and houseplants. I am happy to keep on top of watering and garden maintenance for you as required. I am enthusiastic, committed and dynamic and my experience in international travel, housesitting, owning and caring for dogs, goats, cows, chickens, cats and bees have gained me the skills and confidence to housesit for your beloved pets and home. Also, my skill in communication and building relationships with you, your pet and your close ones and my passion of keeping the homes I stay in clean will make sure you can relax on your holiday and return to happy pets and a a calm and clean home. I love to travel and have several hobbies including walking, cooking and sewing. I work in the health industry and after finishing my fixed term contract, I am taking some time off to travel and will be working in Wellington from June. I hope to get a part time role or a role that has some flexible working from home arrangements. I look forward to speaking with you and finding out more about your beloved pets and home. Best wishes, Millie

After recently moving back from Austria after playing professional volleyball and travelling for 5 months I am settling back into Auckland. I am from Nelson originally but have lived in the US, Austria, Wellington and Auckland over the last 10 years. I am very reliable, caring and independent. I am wanting to house sit so that I can save some money after travelling and so that I can take my time looking for my next home while i settle back in to Auckland life. I have previously house/pet sat for family and friends and i am an animal lover so you can be sure your pets will be well cared for and loved. I work from home so can be flexible with household tasks, dog walking or anything else required. You can trust that i will treat and respect your home like I would my own.

Hello. We are Lisa and Roy, living in Auckland for Lisa's study and enjoying seeing what this part of the country has to offer now that covid restrictions have been lifted. I'm studying and Roy's retired so we have the flexibility to spend time away from home. We own our own home back in the Manawatu, and as your housesitters, we will care for your home and pets in the way we would want ours cared for. Our hope is that you will come home to a sense of welcome and happy pets. We lead a pretty quiet life; lots of reading, research, coffee in the sun in a park or a cafe. We've shared our lives with our own furbabies - some very spoilt Golden Retrievers and rescue cats from the SPCA - who have ruled our hearts. But now that they're not with us we are happy to share some love with other people's pets. Regards Lisa and Roy

Hi, my name is Carolina, 37 years old, I am a NZ resident and currently living with my boyfriend Tomas who has just turned 41. I am an accountant and I am currently working in a software company. I play hockey and try to go to the gym at least 3 times a week to counteract the chocolate and ice cream I eat while watching Netflix (my absolutely favourite activity!!!). At least 3 or 4 times a week I work from home and I love my job as it gives me absolute flexibility with my schedule. I’ve also recently started my MBA in the University of Auckland so I am also spending quite some time studying and going through assignments. Tomas is an Industrial and Logistics Engineer studying for an Operations and Logistics postgraduate degree (Remotely - from a Chilean University). He is particularly fond of dogs since he is super active (of course he is not a smoker!) and he enjoys going for really long walks. He is training now for the Gold Coast marathon on the first days of July and aiming to finish it in less than 3 hours!! (overall he has done over 17 marathons!!) We live in Mission Bay, but it doesn't allow us to get any pets so we love the idea of housesitting as it gives us the opportunity to apply our fondness of animals and at the same time it gives us the possibility to try different neighbourhoods or areas until we decide where we could buy our house in the future! We have experience with different pets as we both had dogs and cats while growing up and we've also did some housesitting during our youth and recently through this website!! You can check our references as we had amazing experiences so far in different parts of New Zealand We are available upon request for further interviews, so please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!! We look forward to meeting you soon! Caro & Tomi

Hello I'm Maggie, an Auckland based music teacher, photojournalist and jazz musician with experience house sitting both in NZ and abroad. I have recently returned from New York where I released my latest album and am looking for short and longer term housesits while I build a place of my own on my section. A little about myself: I am a responsible and reliable house-sitter and have cared for homes and pets around Auckland, and New York so experienced. I am a non-smoker, very clean and respectful of the homes I look after. I appreciate I am staying in someone's home and not just a house and make sure that the place is exactly as you left it when you return. I love animals and will happily care for your pets while you are away. Happy to provide excellent references if needed.

South Taranaki girl at heart, currently living in own home in the adventurous Manawatu. Spent many years living in the City of Sails where family still reside. Love hanging out with four legged bestie (see photo), catching up with family or chillin at home with the chooks and feline buddy. Only recently completed an apiculture course and learning the art and science of beekeeping! Interested in house sitting as way to visit family in Akl or the Naki and meet some furry friends (like a home away from home). I’m the resident house & pet sitter in my cul de sac probably coz the pets befriended me first before I had even met their owners lol. It’s true my pup has four legged besties which come to our house when they escape their backyards! I have looked after pets when colleagues have gone abroad on deployments as I was in the NZDF for over 12 years. You can expect an affectionate, reliable, clean and trustworthy house sitter that will be respectful to your loved pet and your property. :)

Hi there, we are Charis and Imogen. Both from the UK and travelling around New Zealand on our working holiday. Charis was raised in London and grew up with 3 cats, 2 of which, sadly passed away over the Covid period. He now has 2 new cats back in the UK: Margo and Milou and really loves having animals around him, as he feels most at ease when there are pets in the home. Charis works as an artist and painter, specialising in oil on canvas portraits. I (Imogen) grew up in Cambridge in a busy household of teachers and we never had pets, much to my disappointment! To make up for it, my parents always looked after our neighbours pets during the school holidays - which we still do to this day. I regularly look after my neighbours cat Maiko and their dogs Budica (a corgi) and Keira (a Newfoundland) as well as, their goldfish. I have worked for 3 years in corporate marketing as a Video Producer, and I hope to continue my career into Film and TV production. We both have a sense of adventure and came to New Zealand on a working holiday to explore the beautiful scenery and meet new people. Please take a look through our references and feel free to contact our referees, who will happily vouch for our characters. Both of us are patient and respectful people, and we look forward to caring for your pets and homes while you are away. Charis & Imogen

My name's Tash and I live in Tamahere with my husband. We are not allowed pets where we rent and I miss having a family pet. I grew up with cats and dogs & love the joy they bring. I'm looking to have some more independence from my marriage, so am looking for 2 weeks to 2 month house sits ideally. I work from home, as I am starting my own virtual business support service. It's very exciting! My previous role was as a housing case worker in homeless prevention. I'm a house proud renter, whose loyal and reliable.

Hi there! My name is Frances and I live in central Dunedin. I am an Artist that works from home. I find this works in well with offering my services as a house and pet sitter, not only does it allow me to regularly travel around both the South and North Island of New Zealand, but it enables me to spend quality time at home befriending and looking after your pets, giving them that one on one company, attention and continuity of care and routines that they are used too. I am a mature single woman, with no dependents and have an animal-loving personality. I come from a large Dutch, farming family from the Waikato, so from a young age I started house and pet sitting for family and friends. I am a very reliable, honest, clean and tidy person with good communication skills, with references that can verify this to put your mind at rest:) I have had many house sitting positions over the years, the most current being for Alan, in Otautau, Southland (see reference attached). This was a large property with one gorgeous dog and I cared for him for around three months. Over Christmas I house sat for Rosie and Ian in Christchurch for 6 weeks, they had one dog, two cats, a goldfish and a vege patch (see other reference attached). These were both very enjoyable experiences, I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with their pets and sharing their spaces with them. I also have a picture of Casper the dog in my profile - as you can see, we are out taking him for a bit of a driving lesson :) As my references will tell you, I am a trustworthy and respectful person who communicates well. I am very reliable, clean and tidy and have been told by past home owners that what they appreciated most was not only did they come home to a clean and tidy house, but they could see that their animals were well cared for and loved. I am a bright creative friendly person who you will find a delight to have in your home. Thank you for taking the time to consider my online profile and feel free to call my referees, who will be more than happy to vouch for my character and skills as a house sitter and pet minder. I do hope to meet with you and your pets shortly. Warmest regards...Frances:)

Hi, my name is Maggie. I am a mature and reliable woman, finding myself in an 'empty nest'. Without son and without pets! I've been a homeowner for decades, and so I know the value of having someone who will take good care of your home. Until now I've always had pets, so will love taking care of cats, dogs, chickens and any other animals you may have. If you have a garden or outdoor area, I'm happy to make sure things are maintained. I'm confident in rural and urban environments, having lived in both. Why am I interested in housesitting? I mainly work from home (computer) so am flexible about where I am located. I'm based in Auckland and am employed by the University of Auckland, but enjoy discovering new places now and then. And I have family and friends in other parts of the country so like to be closer to them. I don't smoke, nor am I a party animal. Boringly safe! My experience as a house and pet sitter includes occasional weekends, a three month stint, and everything in between. I've befriended elderly cats, huge dogs, goats and even hand milked a cow as part of my 'sitting' experiences. Happy to answer any questions as you make your decisions.

We are an active retired couple who enjoy walking and biking who have always had cats and dogs over the years, and as we now live in an apartment that does not allow pets, we really look forward to our housesitting positions that include them. We are both responsible and respectful and look forward to meeting and looking after your beloved pets while you are on holiday . Over the last 6 yrs we have looked after dogs, cats and chickens and as we are active enjoy the exercise for us and the animals. As we now have a lot of time on our hands, we thought this is a great way to see our beautiful country. We will have no problem getting references and always treat your home as our own We are shortly sitting for one of them for the 5th time. We hopefully look forward to meeting you and your pets in the future and hope that you will consider us as your housesitters. Brenda and Mike Dring

Eight years ago, we decided to have a change of lifestyle. We sold our backpackers hostel and bought a large caravan because we love new areas to explore. In the past we have had corporate careers, managed holiday parks, and been custodians/cooks at a ski lodge. We have had dogs (sadly no longer) and have lived with family on their lifestyle block looking after the chooks, goat and dog. We still love caravan life but would also like to try the housesitting experience in different parts of NZ. (If you have a spare spot for us to put our caravan whilst we look after your property with tender loving care then that would be a real bonus but not a necessity.) As housesitters we would ensure that you would come back to your home after you have been away and find your pets (if you have them) well-loved and your home as you left it.

I am retired and recently widowed. I am Christian and go to church every week. I'm in my 70's and rent a one bedroom unit in Hamilton, however I enjoy a change in my environment and enjoy looking after pets and gardens to keep myself busy. I have daughters who live in Hamilton and Auckland and would love to house sit in those areas to visit them. I am very pedantic and tidy and love looking after other people's property like it's is my own. I love animals and am very happy to care for them.

I am a mature single lady. I am going to be in between homes for a few months so thought I would house sit so as not to impose too much on family and friends. I have house sat in the past mainly for friends. I have my own cat William and my sister has kindly agreed to look after him during this time. If you decide to have me house sit for you, you can expect your home and pet(s) to be well looked after. I am happy to water plants, mow lawns etc.

We look forward to chatting with you further and hopefully the opportunity to meet you and your pets in person.

Hi I am John, I am 63 years old, retired and living in Whanganui moved backfromKerikeri 2020. I was brought up in Masterton and have always had a love for animals. As a child I had Gold Fish and built a Bird Aviary and bred Budgies, Canaries and Quail. Over the school holidays if we weren't away I would feed my friend's and family pets if they were on holiday. I have had cats most of my life and when I moved to Keri keri owned several lifestyle blocks and had beef dry stock, a pet Goat and a dog and a I also looked after neighbour's properties when they were away, so chooks, sheep are lovey to look after also. I have had a dog for most of my time up here in the north. I have spent the last 5 years looking after properties in Opua which were on Book a Bach. I had nothing but good feed back about how clean the properties were from the guests. During my working life I was in sales and I am a good people person and I treated my job as it is was my own business and 90 percent of my sales were repeat business or referals. That is what I aim to achieve with this house sitting venture. Your pets will get to know me as you will and it will make your holiday more enjoyable knowing that they are in good care with a familiar face. I love overseas travel but don't spend enough time travelling around our beautiful country. This will give me the best of both worlds . I look forward to being able to look after your pets and property for you.

Hello everyone, my name is Rahui. I am 21 years old. I am Deaf but I can hear a little bit. I am friendly and calm. I graduated with a Certificate and a Diploma from AUT (Auckland University of Technology). I can sign (NZSL via New Zealand Sign Language) and read English. Sometimes I can hear and speak English. I hope everyone will be okay with me. My motivation for house-sitting is to look after the things and pets of other people since I respect their privacy. I am a cat lover, and I like dogs. I do not drink or smoke while looking after a pet(s). If dogs need to go for a walk, I'll be happy. I cared for my friend's two dogs for a week while they were away in Australia. It was a good experience to take care of dogs. I will be happy treating dogs and cats well!! Nice to meet you all!! Thanks, Rahui

I am a responsible and reliable individual who is excited about the opportunity to care for your home and pets while you are away. I love animals, come from a farming background, and have lived with cats and sometimes dogs all my life. I'm an experienced house and pet sitter, and I am confident that I have the skills and experience necessary to provide excellent care for what matters most to you. I am responsible, reliable, and dependable. I work professionally from home and am available during the week, at weekends, and on public holidays. My 15-year-old daughter, who lives separately, joins me on housesits. She we `house-trained' and respectful of other people's property also. I enjoy housesitting as it helps others. I have a tenant at my place, so I enjoy a little time away. Please get in touch with me to discuss this, and I'm available via SKYPE, Zoom, Teams, and sometimes via cellphone. I am excited to hear from you.

Hiya, I'm Fin, a 35 year old Environmental scientist and Marine biologist currently working for the government - MPI (Biosecurity). Absolutely love dogs hence getting into MPI to work alongside sniffer dogs. I live a pretty quiet lifestyle so I tend to enjoy my time walking, at the gym, yoga, Pilates and swimming, and heading out to explore new coffee shops. When not housesitting, I am at my parents home looking after their two highly active rambunctious dogs. We go out exploring, paddleboarding and adventuring discovering our lovely backyard here in Auckland. I love walking dogs and am used to working with large dogs so am comfortable around strong dogs that may need constant watching, as well as little dogs who love cuddles. I am clean, tidy and respectful and would love to hear from you for long term (5 days +) sits. Any questions, please feel free to get in touch :)

I have my own business and can work from anywhere which means I spend a large majority of my days at home. I am a single mother of two teenage girls. They are both at boarding school in Auckland. I've recently sold my house on Waiheke Island and am enjoying the freedom of house/pet sitting. I am reliable, clean, tidy, quiet, enjoy my own company and LOVE being around animals. I will mostly be house sitting on my own however have listed as a family as it's possible one or both of my daughters may join at times. Can be pre arranged with owner. Whilst I am fairly new to house/animal sitting I am a lifelong lover of animals. Over the years I've had cats, a dog, goats and chickens. I've spent the last 7 years on a journey of personal/spiritual development which has evolved into my work. I'm passionate about shamanic healing, consciousness, herbal medicine and human behaviour. Feel free to check out my website: www.alchemaehealing.co.nz. I'm looking forward to exploring time in different parts of our beautiful country and spending time with your beloved animals.

Thank you for taking an interest in my profile. General: I am a home owner myself, a home in which I have had rented tenants and house sitters (and pets) and hence I understand the absolute need to have a clean, tidy, mature and responsible person looking after your home and pets. I am able to tick all the boxes when it comes to maintaining your home and caring for your pets and can supply a clean Ministry of Justice Criminal Check certificate if requested. I am Retired, (Early Retirement @ 60), very Fit and Mature with no need to go out to work and no need to work from home, (i.e. much time for your pets). I am also an experienced Home Owner, (Brisbane), an experienced Animal Lover, and ex-Healthcare Professional, hence I believe I can offer you all you wish for, (and what I would require), in a House Sitter i.e. plenty of time to spend with your pets and much experience in looking after a home. Being a fitness freak I love long walks and love to do so with the company of any dogs I am caring for. Personal History: I have taken early retirement from my role as a Healthcare Professional (Pharmacist), Leadership consultant, and Fitness professional (my hobby) to : -1. spend more time with and helping my family (3 sons) and their families in Queensland and Hawkes Bay, and to; -2. travel around and explore New Zealand and Australia. I am an Australian Citizen (Brisbane) and New Zealand Permanent Resident. My largest house sit was a farm sit where not only was I responsible for the farm-house and Veggie Garden, but also 3 dogs, 3 cats, 7 sheep, 3 Goats, 2 bunnies, numerous chickens and ducks, 4 miniature horses, 6 doves and two aviaries, and also responsible for keeping an eye on the elderly Granny living on a separate dwelling on the farm!! All survived my care! I look forward to hearing from you, Kind Regards, Blair

A recently returning NZ’r I am keen to learn more of my own country, and house / pet sitting seems ideal. I love animals and am a fit and active non-smoker. I grew up in Whitianga on 7.5 acres, with 2 bullocks, c30 sheep, ducks, chickens, 2 goats, lizards, cats, dogs and fish. I was lucky to be able to ride my friends horses. I have cared for many friends pets and houses over the years and am completely house-trained, honest and reliable, as well as very practical. I’ve looked after many types of dogs, some who need hour long walks twice a day, to those more sedate due to age, so we slow down and do what’s managable. Some have needed special diets, or simple medication and are taking life carefully. I’ve helped out at The Doggery in Taupaki- as per my reference. I’m single, very capable and practical, sensible, now living in NZ, and have my own transport (car and bike), and AA membership. I drive manual and auto if you wish your pet to be in their own car. I’m a trained first aider although my certificate is not current at the moment (I’ll update it when I can). I’d love to look after your fur family whilst you are on holiday and hope you will get in touch. best Julie-Anne

I'm generally adventurous, I grew up as a farmer's daughter, so I appreciate animals and the environment. I have two adult children, one nearby in New Plymouth and the other in Australia. I recently returned from Australia where I had one house-sitting position and three woofing placements. My main past times are gardening, riding my electric bike, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the years I've had numerous significant pets. My first was a calf that I cared for and trained. Because of my fondness for her, my Father kept her until I was seventeen when I went to the Waikato to qualify as a Nurse. Another pet I was particularly fond of was a canary, which sang beautifully and I called him Gusto. Unfortunately, he died during covid. More recently I had a stray cat that determinedly made herself home with me. Pets are great companions and I appreciate them very much. I began house-sitting before retirement, and have cared for cats and dogs, plus a few sheep and a donkey. These situations have been for family, friends, and acquaintances for periods of almost a week to a month.

Our family lives in Mangawhai Heads. We have a large dog (10 years), an elderly cat (18.5 years!), a pig & 5 chickens. When I housesit, my son comes to stay on weekdays. He loves animals as much as I do and is very tidy and responsible. My husband and I are a professional couple, both working full time. Since the pandemic started we have been able to work from home. My husband holds the fort at our place in Mangawhai whilst I housesit in Auckland. As I do not need to attend the office, I will be able to keep your pets company and I am able to walk / them care for them during the day. I have been surrounded by pets all my life and I will look after them and your home like they were my own. My son will come join me on the housesit as he attends school in Auckland at St Kentigern College. He plays a lot of sport so it is an opportunity for him to have a shorter commute time from his practice and games. He will be in Year 12 in 2023. Thanks Andrea

My name is Roman Telford, am 32 working as a freelance web developer and also have been working as a chef in a woodfired pizzeria. I work remotely from home and usually work anywhere between 7am-5pm. I am currently traveling and WWOOFing on Great Barrier Island, am coming back to Auckland in the next couple weeks and thought house sitting over the summer period would work well as I settle back into Auckland life. I haven't house sit through an app like this, but over the years have always house sit friends and families homes. Having grown up with cats and dogs, fish and rabbits, I get along with animals well and love taking dogs for walks. I do some volunteering at some community gardens in Auckland so am able to take care of the gardens as well, some of the gardens I volunteer at have poultry and livestock so I have quite basic experience around them as well. People can expect to come back to a well looked after and clean home, as well as happy and healthy pets and gardens. Would love to send photos and updates of the animals to their owners while they are away too!

My partner George and I are currently living in Raglan so we can be closer to family since COVID-19 hit the world. George is retired from the film industry as a camera technician originally from the UK and extremely well travelled. He is very active and interested in skiing, golf, surf, tennis and anything that doesn't require him to get into a boat. I am a former secondary teacher and film industry veteran and also love travel, food and wine. We have lived in Queenstown, Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland and Gisborne and have owned cats, dogs, ducks and sheep. We are currently tenants as we try to find our next home and have been landlords in the past. We have used house sitters and been house sitters so we have had experience from both perspectives. One of the main reasons we would like to house sit is to spend time with different pets. Due to our desire to travel more we decided not to get any pets and I am missing being around animals. Your pets will be happy to have our attention and company all day. We are happy to house sit in any area and have experience with both small and large dogs and cats. We look forward to meeting you sometime in the future. Thanks Karen & George

I am a 35yr old single female, and am a pet lover. Growing up I had cats and more recently a German Shepherd dog, who was my best mate for 11 years until he passed a few years ago. I really miss having pets around so would love to take care of your fur babies for you. I have recently moved to Tauranga from Auckland and my work schedule is flexible currently. Depending what is required for the housesit I usually can schedule my days to not be out all day long, so if your pets are used to company and you don’t want them left alone for extensive periods of time, then my schedule would be suitable. And I enjoy walking so I have plenty of time for dog walks if needed. I’m extremely house proud and clean & tidy. I love to travel and every year or two I spend 2-3 months traveling overseas. My latest trip was 3 months around SE Asia at the end of last year.

My name is Jina Kim. I am a 25 year old Christian Kiwi-Korean looking to become a regular house sitter. I am able to be very flexible with the duration of house sits and have no particular preference as in between house sits, I reside with my parents in their family home located in Mount Wellington, Auckland. I have house-sitting experience for friends and family with pets. I love to travel, I love animals and always seeking new adventures. As a traveler and an animal lover, I know how important it is to have a home looked after and a pet to be cared for. I am a diligent service provider who has a passion for helping others. I would like to help individuals and/or families by looking after their property and/or pets while they are away. My main experiences in the workforce are in Medical Administration. Currently, I am employed as a Quality & Training Coordinator. I work from home regularly and also on-site at hospital as needed. My working hours are between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm.

We are working professionals based in Auckland. We are currently waiting on our new build home to be completed. Due to delays we have taken the opportunity to do some more travel and house sit where possible. We both love animals, and will treat peoples pets with love and care. We have looked after dogs, cats, cows, sheep and even alpacas! As we are in the process of waiting for our own home, we understand how important peoples property is to them, we will treat locations with the highest levels of respect and make sure things are well maintained. We will make sure owners are communicated with to a level they set. Both of us work flexibly, splitting our time between offices in the CBD and our home base, meaning we can be present in your home for periods throughout the day and the house and animals are not left alone throughout the week. Happy to answer any questions you may have, Talia + Adam

Hi! My name is Ashleigh Rigby, and I am 30. I'm a consumer scientist from South Africa who is in New Zealand at the moment. I'm looking into housesitting because my profession is that of hospitality management and the area is tourism-based and I love animals! I have plenty of work experience in managing hotels, country houses, lodges and restaurants and I have done house and pet-sitting since I was a young teenager in my beautiful home city of Hilton , Midlands Meander in South Africa. I have grown up in a pet-loving family, and have experience in all pets from fish, birds, hamsters, Guinee pigs, farm animals, dogs, and reptiles! I am travelling alone whilst taking a break and looking for work in a specific area. Due to my circumstances, I am looking for longer time period of a housesit. I'm a very stay-at-home-mommy type of girl! My most recent housesit was in November 2022, in South Africa where I looked after a lovely little kitten called Tiggy! If you are the kind of owner who loves getting pictures of your animal doing cute things everyday, I'm in! Or, if you prefer to know that your pet is well cared for once a week, then it's fine with me. I will adjust to your needs and let you know exactly what is happening when you require it. I am always available on my phone and easily contactable. I will treat your animals as my own, as I am extremely aware and can relate to the love that your animal requires! I know from experience it can be nerve-wracking to leave a pet with a stranger, so I can assure you that I will look after your animal with the greatest care. If you don't have pets, that's okay! Due to my employment industry mainly involving running hotels, I live a sober, clean and pristine life! I take care of furniture, I make sure to respect the value of household items and I am mindful of electricity usage and water restrictions. My mum would definitely back me up in saying that I take after her when looking after a home. It's your pride and Joy, and it will be mine too. You can expect complete transparency and clear communication with me. Should I notice anything out of the norm, I will make sure to contact you immediately. I am honest, and will be grateful to have the opportunity to live in your home whilst you are away. I hope this gives you a sense of who I am! Have a lovely day, and I look forward to hearing from you.

We are retired, love animals and love travelling and exploring our beautiful country. We have completed several housesitting jobs both here and overseas caring for cats and dogs. We treat each house as our own and love the animals as our own. We are honest and reliable. We are fit and active, cycling and walking and kayaking are our main interests. We enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and have travelled extensively overseas.

Kia ora, My name is Phoebe. I am a 25y/o who recently graduated as a primary school teacher from Victoria University, Wellington. I love animals and have a responsible and kind nature. I am exploring areas and schools doing relief work around Auckland and Bay of Plenty to find a school I love and want to work at. So if I stay at your home I will most likely teach at your local schools to find out about the area! I am doing on-call casual relief work, which is relatively short hours 8:30-3:30pm, and on some days I will be at home if I am not booked for relieving. My work experience includes 5+ years doing private home cleaning as my part time job outside of Uni and school, so I promise to keep your home spotless. Infact, you might even find your house cleaner than when you left it! I also worked at Wellington Zoo in 2022- which truly had the most rigorous and animal-focussed application process I have ever come across- so I can assure you that your pet will be in good and experienced hands. My hobbies and interests include yoga, walking, animals, nature, reading, music, and dancing. I look forward to hearing from you, Nga mihi | kind regards, Phoebe

Hello, I'm a single 39 year old paediatric physio who is looking to change careers and get into film. My contract at Waitakere hospital finishes at the end of December and I plan to have a break during January. I own a small unit which I rent out on Airbnb and need to be near to clean it etc. I would love to own animals of my own (especially a dog), but as I travel a lot and don’t have a good space I think it'd be unfair on them at this stage. I would enjoy looking after any animals if you have any especially a dog for my daily runs/walks. My spare time could be spent on a run/walk/yoga, heading out to a beach or bush, helping out at a community garden, hanging out with friends or relaxing into a few hours of reading/ photography. More of a home body his year and have a bit of work to do on the change of career side of things. I am a very clean, tidy person and probably would be more than usual if living in someone else's house. I'd love to do a bit of gardening as well.

Hello, we are Lynne and Bob Mitchener. Our working lives began as a registered nurse (Lynne) and an electrician (Bob). Since then we have also worked for non-profit trusts and in the hospitality industry. Our last job, from which we have now retired from was managing a rural retreat centre on ten acres, where we took care of the bookings, looked after the cleaning of the house, the maintenance and grounds. We come with a wealth of practical experience to care for your home and pets. We have cared for cats, dogs, hens and sheep. One lovely pet -sit we had was Harry, a gorgeous little wire-haired foxy cross. We looked after him for three months, and declared that when we eventually retire in our own home, we will find a dog like Harry. However, we are open to falling in love with new varieties, and look forward to caring for your dogs and see them work their charm on us. We have included a photo of Millie, the black labrador with the guilty look on her face. She invited us to her home for one month, about five years back, while her owners were overseas, and we enjoyed the daily walks she took us on to the local beach, where she wanted to play chase the ball until she dropped!! Before her owners went away they gave her a stuffed toy, and told us that it would be "stuffed" before they came home! Three weeks into the house sit, the beloved stuffed toy was still intact, but alas, in the final week, we came home to this mess!!! Oh well, at least we were warned!!! As for cats, we love all and every variety, but are especially partial to ginger moggies. They are so smart. We retired from full time work in April 2017, did a 3 month house sit in Otaki where we looked after a fabulous soft coated wheaten terrier called Lulu, two cats, and 12 chooks! In september 2017 we moved to Taupo where we have retired, and renovating up our home. Two years after this, we were contacted by the owners of lovely Lulu, to tell us they were moving to a retirement village and werent able to take Lulu, so they were needing to rehouse her, sadly. The next four and a bit years were a lovely history for us, as Lulu joined our household and brought much pleasure and joy to our lives. Sadly she is now passed on, so we are available for housesits once again. Our main priority is, we have family in Auckland, and whangapora, so we are especially interested in short housesits in both these places, to catch up with family and friends, especially our new grandson in Stanmore bay. We have done lots of house and pet sitting before, both in NZ and the UK and will look after your home and pets as if our own. We are both creative, caring people, we enjoy reading, walking, cycling, movies and spending time with our friends and family. We have enjoyed cycling the Otago rail trail, the Hauraki rail trail, the old coach road trail and the timber trail. Lynne is a writer and Bob is an artist, he has won several awards for his work. We are a quiet, discreet caring couple and will do everything we can to look after your home and special pets. Thanks for reading our profile, we hope to meet you soon!

Jess and Loz here! We’re here to tell you why we’d be great house sitters. Jess: I’m creative in my spare time, when I’m not working as a nurse. I also enjoy tramping, cycling, swimming. Things I value in others: kindness, honesty and integrity. Growing up, we had a few cats (Felix, Twinkle, Lynx and Serena). I love cats and consider it a privilege to grow up with animals. I also adore dogs. I’ve lived with dogs since leaving home and have taken care of friend’s dogs - so I understand that every dog has its special needs. Loz: I love all things Disney, and have a trip planned for later this year (at the end of August). I enjoy reading and listening to music. I’ve grown up with dogs all my life, and enjoy spending time giving animals love and attention. Having helped raise Abby (our family Golden Retriever) who lived till she was 15 and Riley (a German Shepherd) who is currently two and a half, I understand the responsibilities that come with owning dogs, and can't wait to look after your pets with the love and care they deserve. We both work part-time as energency nurses at middlemore hospital, and have so for the past 5 years. So we’ll have plenty of time at home. We loved our job but it didn’t meet our goals of being able to save for a house, so we took some time overseas and now we’re returning between mid April and beginning of June to work at home again. Lauren and I aim to buy a house in the next few years and we’re hoping house sitting will help us reach our goals. We want you to know we don’t take house sitting lightly, we’ll make sure your home and your pets are well respected and looked after. We have lots of experience house-sitting for friends and family who have cats and dogs (and even chickens), and have thoroughly enjoyed it so thought we’d put ourselves forward for more!! We’re looking forward to house sitting for you and your furry family!

My name is John Wilkinson and my wife is Lindy Smith. We are both in our 60’s, now retired after lengthy careers in teaching and secondary school leadership. At the same time as working we have enjoyed a busy family life that has always had at its core cats, dogs and the occasional guinea pig. As a couple we have always been the ‘go to’ people for house and pet care, sitting advice and support for family, friends and work colleagues. I grew up originally in England where my father bred Boxers: so dogs have been a major presence in my childhood and further as family pets throughout our 30 years here in New Zealand. (a tradition continued by our married son and his Boxer dog.) Lindy has always had cats within her family and upbringing and she was the person who introduced me to the joys of a mixed pet household when we started our first home in UK. Our ‘record’ achieved here in New Zealand is 2 cats, 2 dogs, 3 guinea pigs and various temporarily adopted four-legged friends! We are home owners who take pride in our property and would transfer that responsible care to any house we were looking after. We have traveled widely, enjoying different cultures and cuisines and we bring an energetic approach to all we do. We have used a house-sitting service successfully in the past when we had pets and thus appreciate the expectations of house owners: - that their homes will be cherished, and their pets cared for well. In our retirement we are exploring other areas of New Zealand and the world. We both enjoy an active life – cycling, walking and swimming and I have recently taken up Paddle Boarding as a hobby. We are excited by each of our house-sits and the encounters with new people, pets, places and experiences which they provide – but we are mindful of the importance of house owners feeling comfortable with entrusting their precious homes and pets to others. We would be pleased to talk with you and answer any further questions.

I am 67 but still feel like I’m in my 40s. I enjoy keeping fit. I hike, swim, love walking my daughter's labrador on the beach most mornings, l paddle board when condictions are right and practise yoga. As a child I grew up with Ponty the dog then Kim a Golden Spaniel, we also had Whiskers the cat. They were my buddies and were part of the games we played in the back yard. My biggest love was horses and my dapple grey horse called Centennial. John has a love for all animals too and grew up with Shep the border collie, in his adolescence he had pigeons . I volunteer for Riding For The Disabled and absolutely love it. The difference you see in the confidence of the children that are participating is very heart warming. We are confident with handling farm animals. I love animals any size, colour, hairy, bald, old or young and especially their individual personalities. Our first house sitting experience we looked after Ian and Debbie Shuttleworths house and rescue dog named Heney for 6 months while the owners went back home to England. The second was sitting a friend's house Dean and Nancy for the winter while they were in Australia. We will respect your property, keep the yards tidy, mow lawns etc, most importantly the house will be kept spotless and the pets will be loved as if they were our own.

We're an honest and trustworthy hard working professional couple living in Auckland. Having now lived in NZ for over 15 years we have a network of friends and family throughout the country who we like to visit when we find the opportunity. Our reason for exploring house sitting is to hopefully be of service to similar people like ourselves who like to do a bit of travel. Therefore giving them the peace of mind to have a worry free time away from their own property and pets, knowing they're in safe and capable hands. Over the years we have always utilised friends for any longer term house sitting requirements and in the past have been house sitters for overseas property investors. We quite often look after the pets of our friends when they go on holiday. You can expect your property to be looked after as if it were our own. To always be in the same condition as you left it and if required we quite enjoy doing a bit of pottering in the garden.

Hi there, I’m 34 years old and a permanent resident of NZ and have been living in this beautiful country for almost 6 years now. Originally I’m from Germany. I would describe myself as respectful, responsible, and caring with a big heart for animals, the outdoors, and a passion for health & well-being. In my spare time, I enjoy going for big walks, doing graphite drawings, acro yoga, and spending time on the beach. I'm an absolute animal person. I've grown up with cats and dogs and find being around animals pure joy. I've been full-time house-sitting since June 2022 in order to save money for my studies. With me as a sitter, you can expect someone who treats your home with as much respect as if it was my own. I’m very tidy and clean and know what it's like to tend to a house. I’m sure your pet(s) will enjoy my company just as much as I will enjoy theirs :) Please feel free to look through my references and contact any of my referees who will be more than happy to vouch for my character. With love, Sabrina Kirchner

Hi, my name is Renee. I am a 40+ kiwi experienced in house sitting for friends, family and work colleagues. I am a tidy, reliable and respectful non-smoker who takes care of my surroundings. I am considerate and flexible, happy to sign a house sitters contract and keep in regular contact with property and/or pet updates. When I am invited into your home to housesit, I take care of your house, plants and pets as you would, ensuring you return home to happy animals and a tidy home. I am self-employed with the advantage of working anywhere in the country.

Since my wife died early last year. I am in the process of relocating from Cook Islands where I have all my assets including a house that I own. Until I have liquidated my assets, it would be convenient for me to do housesitting. I have had several pets before both dogs and cats. My late wife and I did 3 months house sitting for a cat in Glen Innes in 1975. I will keep the home clean and tidy for the owners, forward mail and email if required and also see to it that bills are paid on time.

We are Simona and Rokas, a couple of sailors on the long journey with our sailboat around the world. As we are doing some repairs and upgrades on our boat, we'll be spending quite some time in NZ and would love to explore this stunning country on land too. After a long time living on a boat, the opportunity to take care of a house and pets for a little bit and enjoy land life, sounds super appealing to us. We are nature lovers, outdoor people and we truly like animals. We both had pets before our journey and we miss that bond you can create with animals. Three years living on a boat in remote locations taught us a lot - taking responsibility about everything on your own, fixing things, be creative in all kind of situations you get in. You can be sure that your house and garden will be looked after with high responsibility as well as your pets. We know how sad is to be away from your pets so we will update you while we house sit with photographs/videos if you like. Feel free to PM us if you have any further questions.

Hi there, Mick and I (Debbie) are from the UK and are back after lockdown to vi…
Hi there, Mick and I (Debbie) are from the UK and are back after lockdown to visit our son in NZ. He only went for a gap year to St Kentigens school in Auckland but decided to stay in NZ, so we come over each year to see him and escape the UK winter. To put your minds at rest we are both fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and are happy to share our vaccination record with you. So here is why we believe we would be right to look after your fur babies. We have both had dogs and cats through out our lives, as children and as a family together. In the UK we had a reciprocal arrangement with dear friends where by we looked after their dogs whilst they were away and vice-versa. So our dog numbers tripled. The dogs needed a good couple of hours a day walking and often came home from the woods wet and muddy. Meaning they couldn't go back into the house until washed and well rubbed dry. Our pets have all passed away now and as we spend a long time away from home visiting NZ, it is not fair or practical for us to have more of our own so we get our dog and cat "fix" by looking after other peoples pets. Coming to New Zealand during the grey English winter not only allows us to see our son but increases the amount of summer we experience every year. Our own extensive garden and allotments (space we rent to vegetable garden) are in their dormant period and our own home is tucked up to protect it from the worst of the winter cold. During our stays in NZ we often rent homes and always treat them as if they were our own. Owners have often commented how clean and tidy we have left them. (See our reviews for further confirmation). In the UK we provide very high quality rental accommodation and run a property maintenance company to up hold these standards. We wouldn't let a property that we couldn't live in ourselves. The fact that our tenants stay for a long time speaks positively for us as Landlords, one of our tenants has been with us for over ten years. As your sitter we would treat your home and pets as if they were our own, but following your instructions and rules on what they are and are not allowed to do, how much daily walking is required and their dietary requirements. Once we leave your home you will not know we have been there. The transition between you leaving, us staying and you returning will be seamless. We look forward to enjoying your home and pets. If you would like to chat while we are in the UK please phone using 'What's App' but remember you are 13 hours ahead of us. Mick and Debbie

I am a friendly, kind, fully vaccinated non smoker and I love people and animals....I really enjoy hiking, reading, movies, numbers, handcrafts, friends, family and pottering around home. I am comfortable looking after apartments in the city, homes in the suburbs and also homes in rural areas - pets or no pets. I have been with the Housesitting Company since November 2021 and have a few references online. If you require further reassurance I have a list of other home-owners/pet-owners who are happy to be called as referees. Please email or text me and I can provide more details to put you in touch with some of those who may have similar animals and/or houses as yourself. I am a mum of two gorgeous young adults who are running their own worlds....I currently base myself Everywhere as housesitting has become a Lifestyle and I housesit full time (renting a room "by the night" with a friend between housesits). My only constant is I work fulltime in Rangiora, North Canterbury as an Accounting Systems Consultant for an Accounting firm. *************************************** I love to housesit to help others - so homeowners can have a holiday reassured that their home and animals are well looked after. From my own previous experience, I know how hard it can be to find a kennel/cattery or a suitable person to look after the gorgeous animals in our lives. For me house-sitting is a lovely change of scenery and it would be fabulous to care for other people’s animals and/or home. I really enjoy the company of other people’s animals. I call this my early working retirement....and as I mentioned, my children are nearly grown ups (when did that happen!!)....they have both “flown” my nest ...my son is a third year building apprentice and my daughter is at Auckland Uni doing architecture ....as they don’t live with me now I can freely go housesitting as required. I grew up by the beach in Sumner and our family always had house pets and my (now ex-) husband and I brought our children up on a lifestyle block in Ohoka with cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, dogs and cats. So I have looked after and have experience with a wide range of stock/pets (in saying that I am not familiar with riding and the daily care of horses - although I love being around them!). I would feel privileged if you choose to have me as your Housesitter. I am very tidy and am happy to do things the way you wish. I will respect your house and everything in it and will be grateful for you letting me stay in your home. I look forward to hearing from you!!

Hi there, My name is Andrew. I am 63. I am a writer and work remotely. I travel frequently, so I do not have pets of my own - so I absolutely adore the time get to spend looking after other people's pet's. I love all animals, but am especially fond of dogs and cats. Horses, fish, hamsters, rats, hens, goats, sheep and pigs are also my friends. I am not too fond of spiders or creepy crawly type creatures, although I did look after a worm farm once and even enjoyed it. When not on my computer writing or working, I like to go on long walks. I swim, meditate, I love cooking and gardening. As my computer is my mobile office, your pets will have company all day long. I am completely house trained and am an expert in the art of being a guest. I will treat both your home and your beautiful pets with the respect and love they deserve. I would love to housesit your home and look after your treasured pets. I know that upon your return you will be very happy to have chosen me, and I'm sure you will be looking for my telephone number when you are thinking about your next holiday. I do not smoke. I look forward to hearing from you.
