Wellington
Wellington has so much to offer its residents and visitors. The capital city of New Zealand is also its artistic heartbeat. Writers, artists, musicians and actors all cool this vibrant place their home. The saying ‘you can’t beat Wellington on a good day’ most certainly rings true when that good day arrives. Wellington though has something for every weather. Head to the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa where captivating collections for every taste are held. Visit the world famous Weta Workshop design and effects facility where work has been undertaken for The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and a host of other blockbuster movies. If you’re into politics, then go on a guided tour of the
New Zealand Parliament, where you can also sit in the public gallery and hear the issues of the day debated. And if you want to get out of the city, the Wellington region is stunning with bush walks and beach strolls being popular options.

Hi I'm Kim. I'm an environmental scientist working in sustainability for an energy company, I work fully remotely so I'm mostly home Mon - Fri. My work sometimes includes travel to locations such as Auckland, Wellington, central Nth Island and the Otago. When I do that I like to house sit as I prefer to live like a local rather than stay in hotels, it also gives me the added bonus of fur babies which I love. My husband and I live in Christchurch with our Burmese fur baby Cookie who truly rules our life in a good way. In some locations when I'm travelling for work I go into the office occasionally, ie in Auckland. We are active outdoors people, love trail running, tramping, surfing and biking. We are often trusted to house sit for friends and neighbors when they are away, and we're are experienced and happy to look after small and large animals. I have also had quite a few dogs in my life over the years, fox terriers and border collies when growing up and later in life larger dogs. At the moment we just have our cat Cookie but I doggie sit for friends quite often. As I work remotely I'm home most of the day, I like to get up early leaving time in the afternoons to get outside for exercise or exploring. If you have animals that require a bit of exercise that suits me perfectly as I like to get out for a walk / run. I've been house / pet sitting for friends and family for years and have loved the experience of exploring different locations and getting to know different fur babies. I will take care of your loved fur baby and your home as my own.

I am a single Mature Woman with with adult children who are happily living their own lives in Hamilton and Auckland. I worked for many years in the Hair and Beauty industry as a Hairdresser and Beauty therapist. I have owned business and employed staff in the past. I now work remotely for a septic tank cleaning company doing telemarketing and database management. During the Covid lockdown I revived my crafting stills creating some interesting upcycling projects. I had been asked by friends to housesit and care for their pets. It seemed a natural progression to I chose to housesit in anticipation of travelling and I joined an international housesitting site, meeting some fabulous people whilst in the UK in 2018. Many of these people I am still in contact with. On my return to New Zealand my desire to travel remained so I continued to move around seeing more of our beautiful Aotearoa. Among the animals I have cared for cats both indoor and outdoor, dogs large and small young and old, chickens ducks and fish and also some livestock. Returning to housesits many times means I have developed some great friendships with both the animals and their owners, and also in some cases neighbors and friends in communities. I look forward to meeting you your animals and experiencing the area that you call home.

Good morning/afternoon, I am a French 24-year-old guy, I was a civil engineer in France before coming to New Zealand - I arrived 3 months ago. I intend to visit the country from the end of February, and I am currently living in Wellington, where I currently work in security. I have been living in a proper flat with one kiwi flatmate for 2 months now. I want to visit New Zealand until mid-April, and then I will be looking for a job in Auckland. For my trip throughout New Zealand, I will be travelling with my French partner I have actually met here in Wellington. She is Audrey, a 26-year-old girl. She is really (really) kind, friendly but also serious and tidy. She speaks better English than I do, as she arrived in the country 10 months ago. Furthermore, she is very familiar with NZ culture, landscapes, fauna and flora as she has been planning this trip for 4 years. Her job is a freelance graphic designer, so she is used to remote working. She has been a house sitter several times. She has also done some couch-surfing many times with good reviews. We are both animal lovers. I have personally grown up with 2 cats at home, and I have always liked playing with my uncle's dogs. Audrey has grown up with an American Akita and also loves cats. Plus, she has been horse riding when she was younger. We are both clean, serious and tidy person. We really appreciate taking care of our living and working spaces. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. Hope to hear from you soon.

I am a 77 year old ex-South African. Retired but still doing some consulting, remotely. Full driver's licence. I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. TV is therefore a 'nice-to-have'. I also need somewhere safe to park my car, preferably under cover. I look forward to speaking with you soon ... Liston (I am on WhatsApp)

Hi there, My family call me a dog whisper I love animals and traveling and the traveling doesn't allow me to have my own four legged friends so house sitting is a wonderful mix of those. I like rural locations and adventure spots, Mountain biking, skiing, bush or ocean walks and my global doggy friends get well excited when we go see these places. Equally happy caring for cats, horses, donkeys, chickens and have had several experiences looking after people's homes and pets. Currently living in Tauranga and looking for some sits to get me away from the house and connected to new environments and people while working online. Happy to connect to have a chat via video chat so we can align to your needs while you are away. Look forward to speaking soon.

I was previously registered as a house sitter whilst living in an apartment in cbd Auckland. It was nice to stay in a "real" home every now and then. I went over seas and travelled around the world as I'd finally freed up time after 25 years in real estate sales and other business commitments. I'm a wonderful house keeper / cleaner, so I'm a great match. I love to cook too and used to make my pets gourmet meals! I have an eye for detail and take pride in keeping property clean and tidy. You can rest assured your home will be looked after. Pets too, are assured of the love and attention they deserve. As a family (my children are adults now, and I'm single) we have always had pets. Cats and dogs. Mainly small breeds of dog. I've owned and loved: Bichon Poodle Chinese crested powder puff Fox terrier Jack russel. Small energetic dogs. We've also owned the exact opposites. Whilst living on Waiheke Island, we enjoyed Maremma sheepdog and Dogue Bruxelles : a HUGE BOY called Golly He pulled my kids around on a sled! I'm happy around all animals. My forte' is cleaning and I'm not put off by much. I'm energetic, polite and respectful of peoples property, pets and privacy. Thank you. CORALIE LUSH

My wife, Annette, and I (John) are both retired. We are both looking forward to travelling the country in our retirement and Housesitting would suit us as we will have a limited budget for accommodation. We don't have pets currently but have experience with Dogs and Cats. We moved in to town 7 years ago, previous to this we lived on 3 different lifestyle blocks over 16 years where we had Sheep and Chickens. During that time we also raised a Cow and a Goat. :) We keep our own House very tidy and would take the same care with any house we stayed in. We would love the opportunity to take care of your house and pet.

We have our own home in Rodney district. We are pretty much retired. Lesley is a registered nurse and Richard a freelance IT specialist doing occasional work from home. At the moment our 2 children in their twenties are in the UK. Circumstances make it necessary for us to return to the UK from May 23rd to September 12th so we will be unavailable during that period. We are pretty much home birds and are very happy to chill and read or make friends with your lovely pets. We have house sat before for a variety of pets - cats, chickens, fish, dogs - and very much enjoyed this. The main reason being that we are animal lovers and Lesley especially is feeling pet deprived at the moment since having to put down our most adored cat Ginger 18 months ago. We have taken the decision not to replace him at for the moment so she has become that annoying person that has to pet everybody's dog on the beach and talk to every cat in the street! We are mature responsible people who totally understand the need to feel that your home and pets are being properly looked after and treated with respect and would be very happy to do this.

Jerry and I are now retired after selling our very successful Takeaway business which we operated for the last 8 years. We have now reached the age where we wish to enjoy our retirement with traveling around NZ in our caravan and doing some house sitting. We own our own house in Auckland which has a lovely tenant and we wish to leave her in the property as she is very settled there. We have just had the most amazing house sit for 8 weeks looking after 7 kittens, 3 cats and 3 chickens. Very entertaining especially seeing the kittens growing from when they were only 3 days old when we arrived. Off now in our caravan for a month before our next house sit in july/Aug which just has one cat this time so should be a lot more peaceful and relaxing. Jerry and I are very reliable and honest people who keep grounds and homes in excellent condition. Our interests are fishing, hunting, travelling around in our lovely caravan and meeting lots of interesting people. Love to meet you and let your holiday being enjoyable knowing your home and pets are in excellent hands.

We are retired and are fit and young at heart. We have been house sitting for the last three years, both in New Zealand and Australia. We are super tidy, especially my wife! and we love pets. Until we traveled abroad for career purposes, we always had pets and dog for the family. When the children were little we had a pooch, black and fluffy for about 14 years, growing up they had the company of a black Labrador. Coming to Fiji we looked after our friends dog for 2 years, a large doberman, one that would lick you to death! And just lately again to help out friends going overseas for 12 months a beautiful German Sheppard and the cat, both couldn't live without the other, and together they provided most of the entertainment! I love walking, and it just isn't the same without a best friend. We know pets love routine, and we will enjoy to fit in with your regular way of looking after them. We are used to having pets, enjoy spending time with pets, and understand their needs of companionship. We have six children, all grown up with their own family. Having had a significant overseas and New Zealand based career, we have had the benefit of high end company homes to live in. References on how we looked after these homes are readily available. We have also included some pics of our home at Vuda Marina, Fiji. What you can expect is, to return to your home with pleasure, absolutely spotlessly kept, both inside and out, including any pool maintenance and garden maintenance. We expect to make lifelong friends with any home owner for whom we will look after the house and property and pets. Hank and Cherie Arts

Hello! Chris and Rae here!! We are very careful and responsible people. An older couple, semi retired, we have had house sitters in our home and have been very grateful for the way it was cared for. We want to do the same for you. Our Birman cat Coco - if she was still alive, would vouch for the love and attention any cat in our care would get. We miss her terribly. We want contact with other cats. We would like to stay in some areas in NZ and get to know them better. Especially by the water! - being sailing people..... We would love to take good care of your home and cat(s) or fish or well behaved dog - we love walking!!! - so that you have a carefree holiday. Maybe next year we will continue our travels around the world and visit our family - in the meantime we will look after yours while you travel.

I am currently running my yoga online business from home and travelling around New Zealand filming my yoga classes, along the way I’m also taking a holiday as my children are all grown up, I’d love to stay in new towns around nz to experience the beauty within each town. I’m tidy and clean and lead a peaceful life. I love cats and dogs, my own have sadly passed on and I miss them so much. I would care for your home as if it was my own and be a lovely friend and care for your pets should you have them. I adore cats, I’m a cat lover but I also love dogs as I had a very athletic, both adventurous and laid back massive golden retriever Max, he went every where with me as we both loved to be out and about, equally he was happy to stay home and chill with me when I was at home.

Hi there. My name is Neryl. I have recently retired from work as a care giver in a dementia unit at a care facility in Rotorua. I am currently travelling around NZ in my campervan and am looking forward to doing a few house sits along the way. From May to August 2023 I was in Australia house sitting for my son and his wife while they toured Europe. They have an adorable fluffy black and white cat which I had great pleasure in looking after while they were away. I have enjoyed the company of animals most of my life, mainly cats. I currently have a beautiful cat named Lucky. She is being looked after by my son and his family while I am away. I know how valuable our pets are to us and I will do my upmost to look after your pets with the same love and care as I do for my own pet cat, Lucky. .

Hi there, my name is Kirsty and I am wife to Richard and Mum to two daughters who are 8 and 4. We are ex Aucklanders who moved to Wanganui in 2019. I am a full time Mum (with a background in Event Management), my husband owns his own building company. We are a Christian family who love music, theatre, nature/outdoors, singing, reading, and travelling. Our reasons for wanting to house sit are two fold. 1) For opportunities to stay in Auckland for longer term visits to see our family who we really miss and 2) We absolutely love exploring our beautiful country, but as living costs increase it's becoming harder and harder to have holidays away. We usually stay in air bnbs, but house sitting would help us out immensely. We are home owners in Wanganui and we have also extensively used air bnbs to take our girls on mini breaks away. All our reviews from staying in different homes have been A+. We also personally keep a very tidy, organised, clean home in Wanganui. Although we don't own a lot of pets (currently two cats), we love animals! We are very caring by nature and very frequently visit friends farms in Wanganui who have a wide range of pets/farm animals which our girls love to experience. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. Our girls are also very respectful and tidy and absolutely love nothing more than 'playing house' when we go on holiday. I believe this would be replicated if we were to house sit. We look forward to hearing from you, meeting your adorable furry friends and caring for your home while you are away.

I was working in Australia as a registered nurse but have had to come home for personal reasons, until I head back to Australia later in the year I am looking for opportunities to house sit. My experience with pets has been lifelong, I have grown up with dogs, cats and fish, and still have a great relationship with my parents dog Bailey. My favorite memories growing up all involve my families pets. If you choose me as your house sitter, I will look after your pets with excellence, using the knowledge I have gained from having pets throughout my whole life. You can also be sure that your house will be left in a clean state. As I am waiting to head back to Australia later in the year, I am not working, so your pets will be given lots of attention and love while you are away.

We always had dogs and cats when I was growing up so I'm comfortable with having them around and looking after their needs. I house-sat for some friends and their two beautiful dogs over the winter of 2018 and decided I wanted to continue doing it for others. I'm a self-employed entrepreneur and can work online from anywhere. I enjoy the variety of moving around and experiencing different places. Because I work from home I'm able to be there a lot of the time to keep an eye on things and keep your pets company. I'm tidy, self-sufficient and responsible with other people's property. My motto is 'leave things the way I found them'. I look forward to meeting your beloved pets :-)

We are a healthy and fit couple in our late 60s, originally from The Netherlands, who have recently sold our home. Currently we are waiting for our new apartment on the North Shore to be completed (expected settlement is June 2024), so looking after other people’s houses is a great way to bridge that period. Jos is retired, while Lucien still works as a software developer - mostly from home. We have always taken pride in our house, which was very obvious when the real estate agent who sold our current house remarked that she wished everybody staged their houses like we did. However, it was not even staged, and our house sold for a remarkably high price. We ran a Homestay for 6 years in Wellington, which was up and running 3 weeks after we moved in, so we know the importance of keeping a house clean, tidy and well presented! We have had dogs ourselves - Golden Retrievers for many years, and a sweet little Cavoodle for the last 12 years (who sadly passed away a few months ago) - and we look after the dogs and cats of our children from time to time, so we know how to care for animals, and are happy to care for yours. When you select us as your house sitters you can expect that we treat your house and belongings (and any animals) as if it is our own, with care, dignity and respect.

Hi there We are just entering that wonderful new season of life where we are ready to tone down everyday stress and focus on the good life. Hugo is an expert in aviation and the handyman extraordinaire who loves to fix things wherever he goes and Lou is a semi retired teacher. Our family pets and home have always been very important to us so we would look after your fur babies and home as if they were our own. We have just returned to NZ after an exciting posting overseas which has given us the travel bug so we are keen to explore more of New Zealand and would love to help care for your pets and home while you are away.

Hey there! Max and Dilara here; we are young professionals living in Auckland and would love to take care of your home and give your fur babies all the attention they need! We are both vaccinated and boosted, have been thoroughly police vetted (Max in order to work in an embassy, and Dilara in getting a New Zealand work visa), and are non-smokers. We were both raised in pet-loving families - Dilara's father is a veterinarian and constantly had pets around - and we would love to housesit with animals. Max has experience with pool maintenance, having had a pool. Max also was the owner of a landscaping/handyman business and enjoys helping with home and gardening maintenance. We love playing tennis, hiking, and exploring new cities. If it is possible, we can meet you and your pets virtually, or in-person, before the sit to go over any details and expectations and get to know each other. Please feel free to reach out, we look forward to hearing from you! References are available on request.

We are 70 years old, both hale and hearty, enjoy walking and visiting other places, now pretty much retired apart from voluntary work. We are pet lovers, have had cats and dogs ourselves. We have many years experience in looking after property maintenance, administration, dealing with a wide range of people (guest liaison and service care) at three different retreat/conference centres. We have had two previous experiences of housesitting at Pukerua Bay near Wellington, and Bayview in Hawkes Bay, both involving pets (including geriatric ones requiring medication). Home-owners could expect us to be experienced, mature adults who bring many years of life and practical experience to looking after their home, a love of animals, a liking of order in our environment. We have family and friends all around NZ, and this would enable us to stay in touch more easily.

Kia Ora! We’re Emma and Elias, twins on tour through New Zealand with a working holiday visa, eager to explore the country and its people. Whilst looking for an accommodation we’ve stumbled upon house/pet sitting, which seemed perfect to us both. Both of us adore pets and animals in general and even though we only have fish at home;), both of us have plenty of experience, especially with dogs. I, Emma, did a school exchange in 2020 and lived in a family with 3 dogs (a husky and 2 adopted strays). I took care of them every day of the year, taking all three of them on long walks through the beautiful nature of Andalusia and still, almost three years later, I miss them dearly. I also made a habit out of going to the local Dog-Rescue-Center, taking little pups without a home on walks along the beach. I, Elias, have a close friend with 3 young australian shepherds. Back in Germany I joined them for a walk every day over the last year and cared for them whenever the family was away. I’ve helped educating them since the age of 12 weeks and went through all stages of adolescence with the little rascals. All three of them have a special place in my heart and they will be my first stop when this travel experience comes to an end. Even though both of us have more experience taking care of dogs, we have helped friends and family with cats whenever we had the chance to. If you choose us as sitters you can expect two young, responsible adults to take care of both your home and your animal/s with lots of love and passion. Also, we bring plenty of time with us due to us not working at all or only working part time! That means we are very flexible and can always prioritize your pet/s. We’re looking forward to meet you and your little family!!!

I’m a 31 year old recruitment consultant (ex. Teacher of 8 years). I have a passion for yoga, weight training, hikes, cooking, reading, animals and trying out new restaurants in the greater Wellington region. I am responsible, organised and take pride in a clean living space. Having grown up with many pets, I am comfortable and experienced in caring for animals, ensuring they receive the love and attention they need. Having sold my house last year, I am back living at my dads on the Kapiti Coast. This year my goal is to save money in order to buy my next house, however I do enjoy my own space away from my family. I would love to be able to provide home/pet owners with peace of mind knowing that your home is in capable hands. I am a reliable and trustworthy individual and happy to provide references from previous house sitting experiences or personal connections if required. I would prioritise the security and maintenance of your home and am diligent in following any specific instructions or routines that you have. I would be delighted to discuss opportunities further.

We are Taz and Rosie, we have been living in Nee Zealand since July 2022. Rosie is an NZ citizen and Taz is here on a partnership visa. We work in the summer on festivals and events in management roles for glamping companies and in the off season we have been working as landscapers/gardeners with Taz doing some building work also. We travel in our campervan to jobs over the summer so housesitting would be ideal for us to see more new places in New Zealand or to take some more relaxed days between jobs. Taz has had family dogs at home his whole life and studied Animal Management at college. He has cared for dogs, cats, reptiles; lizards including large lizards like bosc monitors, some snake experience, rats, hamsters and chickens. Taz rescued a dog in the UK in 2014 and raised him with friends who he lives with now. Rosie has had cats as family pets her whole life as well as small tropical fish. I have cared for dogs of friends/family over the last 10 years including becoming a main guardian for Tazs dog after we met in 2020. Other family pets have been horses and pigs which I have some experience providing care for. With the right instruction ahead of time we are comfortable with almost any animal! We have both house sat previously for friends and family in the UK and have house sat 3 times in NZ most recently being July 2023. This has covered stays of 2 days to 3 weeks with care for dogs with a range of needs (nervous dogs, walking routines etc). A homeowner can expect that we are a clean, tidy and responsible couple. We love animals and would be more than happy to have a routine during our stay that supports their wellbeing, be it extra fusses or walks! We also understand that there is a lot of trust allowing someone to stay in your home space and would treat your home with the utmost respect.

We are a semi-retired couple who have lived with and cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, ducks, chooks, goats, sheep, and horses. We are fit, active, resourceful and capable individuals, and 'mature' enough to have experienced just about everything life could throw at you. We don't currently have fur-babies as we have just downsized and are now temporary urbanites. I am a keen gardener, fastidious housekeeper, and lover of the outdoors. I have also been known to do a bit of cooking on the side. We are looking for our slice of paradise to call home, so house/pet sitting is a great way for us to travel the country while we search for that ‘little’ corner of Aotearoa that makes our hearts sing. Having done this for a few months now, we consider ourselves to be well travelled, seasoned house sitters. Your lovely home and much loved pets are guaranteed the best of care, though we absolutely refuse to fall in love with them. Glowing personal references can be supplied should they be required. Cheers, Rosie & Mike

Retirees available to care for your home and pets anywhere in New Zealand as the…
Retirees available to care for your home and pets anywhere in New Zealand as their own. We have always had pets mainly cats, dogs and a few chooks in our lives from childhood. Since marriage we have always owned cats and dogs, firstly Asti and Loti, two Burmese cats, then a tabby rescue cat who was very shy but she loved our Black Lab Joey, they were great mates. After both passed away our younger son came home with Lucy a rescue dog who was found in a cat cage in a wardrobe. Lucy can home dressed in dolls cloths and was so small she could sit on my knees. We tried to socialise her with other dogs without success but Lucy was a faithful companion who we walked at night to give her the space she needed to not become stressed around other dogs. Our children have their own families and our sons both have dogs, Ash, a Staffy and Poppy, a Labradoodle, totally different dogs. Ash is always so excited to see us and has to receive a cuddly and then settles down whereas Poppy is more laid back, come to see us but not as excited. We are living with Poppy at the moment and walk her most days. Our daughter has a Burmese cat who always sits on Janice knee at night, but she does the sitting, if you pick her up she takes a while to settle. I have two friends one with an old LabX Sammie and the other a Border Collie, Lockie who we both have a lot of contact with. Sammie, we have looked after at both his home and ours many times. In our professional life, Brian was an ideals person designing many electronics products, and I was the administration and finance person for companies we owned over our working life. We raised three children and have 5 grandchildren living in Auckland and Wellington. Our home is in Auckland but we spend a lot of time between both cities. We are always on the go, helping in the community, renovating family homes, out tramping, yachting, cycling, skiing, travelling and spending time with our grandchildren. Brian can turn his hand to most things in the home and garden but does know his limits and will call in professionals if need be. I am a cook, cleaner and gardener who loves to talk to humans and animals. We are both members of Rotary and like contributing to our community and Janice is a volunteer at the Community Op Shop and SPACE (a program for first time parents) and both Brian and Janice volunteer at Kai Tahi (eat together) community meals, and an twice yearly e-waste collection. We are doers, both physically fit, non-smokers and enjoy life. We are enjoying travelling NZ, house and pet sitting gives us the opportunity to get see the country whilst fulfilling our dream of seeing as many regions and cities as possible. We feel our skill set is ideal for housesitting and pet sitting, having the opportunity to hang with your furry babies and look after your home as our own, giving you peace of mind to enjoy your time away. Brian and Janice

Hi I am a mum of 4 grown up children living in the Wellington Region. I work full time flexible hours. I am very organized clean and tidy. I live with my daughter and Grandchildren but I do love my own time. Moving from Scotland 36 years ago was a huge step and one of the best decisions made in my life. In the future I would like to do some travel and return to see my old home again. Growing up I always had a house pet and this trait has obviously rubbed off on my own family as I have 2 Grand dogs and 2 Grand cats. Recently I looked after 2 beautiful cats for 2 months while their owners went overseas I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them. Should you choose me as a sitter in your home I can guarantee that your place will be well looked after and clean and tidy for your return. I am also very good at sending photo's of your fur babies as my last sitters found. My hobbies are cooking, walking and reading. Maggie

I am an animal lover, affectionate and responsible person. English is my second language but I can follow instructions without problem. In my country of origin (Chile) I have worked for 11 years as a veterinarian, therefore I am the right person to care for and accompany your pets. I know how stressful it is for them to change their routines, which is why I can take care of them at home while you are away. See you

Kia ora, my name is Niven. I'm a 27 year old, full time worker in Wellington. I would be interested in house sitting as I am looking to save for a house of my own in the near future and see this as a great opportunity that aligns with that goal. I also love the idea of looking after pets in lovely homes around the Wellington area, to vary my current home-life. I have previously house sat for various family members and friends, pets and babysitting kids included. This is usually in a short term and casual capacity, given my relation to the owner of the home. I have cared for a few dogs and cats during a selection of those occasions and love the opportunity to look after pets, particularly dogs! Any potential homeowner that chooses me as their sitter can expect a trustworthy, care-filled experience for their pet/s and home. I am self-sufficient and confident at adapting to new environments and situations. I am clean and tidy and would feel fully competent looking after your pet/s and home and leaving your home just as you left it, when you return. Appreciate your consideration and look forward to hearing from you soon. Kind regards, Niven

I am a New Zealand Police Officer that has a home and property in Rotorua and use to work in Rotorua - but I am now working for the Police National Headquarters in Wellington city until November 2025. I would therefore like to house sit throughout this time in Wellington. I have several favourable references from my time using AirBnB. . I have extensive experience owning dogs and a cat at my home in Rotorua as I have a much loved labradoodle. Previously I have owned three dogs and numerous cats. Any homeowner can expect that I will look after their house and animals with the utmost of care, I am a very tidy and structured person that does not drink or smoke.

Hi! My name is Ashley Rohloff and I'm a 20 year old uni student going into my third year studying a BSc majoring in Physiology and Psychology and the University of Auckland. I pride myself on being very honest and reliable, as well as highly respectful - I commit full dedication to every job and can provide assurance that I will take the exact same approach to house and pet sitting - I understand the magnitude of leaving your home and pets in someone else's hands and would like to reassure the owners I'm a great person for the job. For my first 2 years of university I lived and worked within the first year halls of residence but have moved home to (very) south Auckland for my final year - I'm finding the commute strenuous and being heavily involved in many extracurriculars and my work typically being central I would love to move back into the city, get experience house sitting and be able to meet my financial goals for the year! I have lots of work experience in different fields and positions, as well as being blessed with many academic/ schooling roles and achievements so can provide a wide range of references to show my character and commitment! I have little experience house sitting but having grown up rurally, horse riding most of my life and being an avid Ag-Day participant I have lots of experience caring for pets and livestock. A homeowner can expect a very happy and bubbly, enthusiastic but highly responsible and trustworthy sitter who can ensure utmost care taken for homes and pets alike.

You can be sure your house and pets are in great, trustworthy hands with a police constable (Shannon) and a self employed graphic designer (Karen). We love exploring different parts of New Zealand and love animals so would welcome the opportunity to look after your house and pets. We are both non smokers, in our 40s and don't have children so have a lot of flexibility to travel when we choose. We are experienced cat owners to 2 pampered pets but also love dogs and would love to look after those as well.

I am a young and active senior who retired at Christmas 2021, I had worked with Ontario's largest Children's Mental Health Agency for 18 years. I am a non smoker and tea total (well coffee addict). I arrived in back NZ early 2022 after spending 19 years in Canada. My husband passed away in 2021. Quite the battle to get into MIQ to return home, with the lotto draw they installed !!! I am currently living with my son and daughter in law, and it would be nice to spend time away on the odd occasion. I house sat before leaving for Canada in Omokoroa and Mount Maunganui. One was an Avocado Orchard and they had 70 Parrots in aviaries on the property, such fun. I have been the proud owner of 5 rescue Old English Sheepdogs.. not all at the same time !!!! so I know about grooming. My last dog Boomer was 116lbs, (52.5kg) a big strong boy and the light of our lives. In 2020 we started to foster dogs brought up from Texas from the "high kill" pounds. Copper was our first, A Walker Coon Hound... never heard of them before and what a delight with his howl. I will leave your home as you left it though I do enjoy gardening and cleaning windows... My hobbies are reading, walking, knitting and TV..... I am a friendly person. get on with most people, I am the listener not the talker... I grew up in UK, came to NZ and then followed my son to Canada. Just went for a holiday and met my husband, tore up my ticket and stayed put....... I consider NZ home..... Recently I have house sat for dogs, cats, sheep and alpaca's, what fun they were .

Hi, my name is Michelle. House sitting really appeals to me, it gives me variety from my day to day schedule . An opportunity to visit different areas, towns and suburbs, that perhaps I haven't yet experienced. It is also like having a holiday away from home. Over the years I (and my two girls, now grown up and moved out) have had many pets, including cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, and birds. Working with the Housesitting Company has given me a wealth of dog sitting experience. I am an extremely house proud person. I own my own home. I am fit and walk and cycle every day. I love the sea, and the beach. I am an honest, trustworthy and tidy person whom would love to be considered to care for your home and your pets. Thank you for taking the time to consider my profile and I hope to meet with you. Regards Michelle

We are a retired couple based in Kerikeri. We have been sheep and beef farmers in our younger years so are comfortable around livestock and pets. Before retirement, Diane was a registered pre-school teacher (20 plus years). Peter was a a businessman/company director and a past Commodore of the Kerikeri Cruising Club. Since retiring we lived on our 13m yacht over the summer months sailing both the North and South Islands and house sat during the winter over four years. Mid 2023, we sold the yacht and purchased a caravan, the plan being to meander from North Cape to Bluff, at a leisurely pace. We have now done three housesits through the Housesitting Company, and have throughly enjoyed the different experiences. The winter of 2022, we looked after a 5 acre property /house with 2 glamping sites for 3 months. This included caring for 43 hens, 12 Guinea Fowl, and a dog called Enzo. The winter of 2021 we undertook to be caretakers for Aroha Island Eco Centre. No pets, but lots of birds including resident kiwis. Peter was active in pest and weed extermination plus grounds maintenance. Diane had both knees replaced at this time so it was ideal for her convalesence. Prior to this we looked after a lifesytyle property 2 years in a row in Kerikeri, caring for 3 lovely cats. Diane is a keen gardner and Peter gets great satisfaction from mowing lawns! We both enjoy walking, reading, fishing and of course sailing. We are always respectful of others homes and take care to always leave them as we find them. Computer literate, (more so Peter!) so can share video clips of pets etc. We are both non smokers and consider ourselves reasonably fit, honest and trustworthy. We have joined this house sitting site in the hope of getting positions where we can explore different parts of the North Island. We would love the opportunity to care for your property, pets and/ or livestock. We look forward to meeting you.

Hello! I'm Rocio a 26 year old chilean girl. This is my first time applying to be a house sitter, I would like to know new places around New Zealand and what better than living an unique experience. I don't have a formal experience with house sitting and caring pets but I am a very clean and tidy person, so you don't have to worry about the cleaning of your home. Since I was 0 years old I have been surrounded by pets, mostly cats, dogs and cows. If you choose me, you will find a reliable, safe person who loves animals, and who needs to be in contact with pets to be happier :)

Hi I have lived in Hamilton, New Zealand all my life and I am married to Nick for 33 years and we have grown up children, a daughter and two sons and I thought it would be fun to housesit as a way to see NZ. Our daughter is married and living in Christchurch and we have one grandchild. I enjoy walking and going to daily gym classes and my husband enjoys long bike rides. We are very active. I managed a house we own as an Airbnb for over two years managing bookings per night so I know what is involved in caring for a home. I have dealt with many different nationalities and many situations that arise from having a home on Airbnb. I ensured our Airbnb house was clean and well presented and that the garden was appealing and well managed. I have always had pets those being cats, dogs, chickens, canaries, goldfish - although we do not presently have a pet as sadly our beautiful 14 year old dog Bosco passed away this year My husband is experienced in managing livestock as he was brought up on a farm. I know how to care for animals giving them time, exercise, fresh water and good food. I am also aware of the signs of when a pet is feeling unwell and when to take to the vet. If I was your house sitter I would update you on your home and your pets with regular photos and messages if you wanted this and . if there were any problems I would consult with you. Thankyou

HI, I love animals and enjoy taking care of them, as I run a small farm with my family I know how important it is to have your animals cared for in their own environment while you are away. I have experience looking after neighbours dogs, cats, horses, sheep as well as on our own farm we have a range of cattle , poultry and sheep. goats and horses. I have a farming back ground and looking after your home and animals while you are away is very appealing way to visit a new area while providing you with the reassurances that your animals are in good safe hands. I like to send updates on how the animals are as it is very reassuring to know they are OK when you are away from them .

Mature, sensible professional (semi retired) with partner, both with love for animals. Remko (originally from Holland back in 1972) and Caroline (from China). Both non smokers, enjoy clean living with clean criminal international and local records. We met in Malaysia while working as volunteers with cats and dogs for SPCA in early 2015. After that we did a period of volunteers with tigers in Thailand. Highlight of our lives. Great experience to be so close and intimate with a wild animals. Few scars but lived to tell all the tales. After we worked with them, cats and dogs are so easy. Next, hoping to spend some time with elephants. We have done home sitting in NZ as well as offshore in Europe and China as well as a 4 week stay in Malaysia. Although we like to travel, live clean and appreciate clean houses so your home will be looked after. Although not fantastic green fingers, we will happily mow your grass and pull a few weeds as required. As we both still work part time, appreciate wi-fi so we can still receive emails etc. Sky is not important cause we rather be outside enjoying open air as against watching TV. Also since 2017, a volunteer firefighter originally with Otorohanga but would consider helping any local volunteer brigade. Rem has in the past also looked after NZ Police dogs while their handler has gone on holiday so the average dog should be relatively easy. Happy to walk the dogs and where possible, take them to the beach if possible. Hopefully have secure parking for the BMW as well? Since Feb 2017 we have lived in Otorohanga and have looked after various local and surrounding properties. A 550 acre grazing farm and a very upmarket lifestyle house. Although it’s been fun here, we are ready for another area from now on. Long term housesits preferred but will consider short options as well. Yuling now lives in Wellington full time while Rem commutes.

I’m a retired pet lover but because I often go to Auckland to visit family I can’t have a pet of my own. Because I am often in Auckland I could possibly be available for in person interviews for Auckland sits. I grew up in Auckland but have lived in Opotiki for 18 years and love it here. I don’t live in the township but in the very small beach suburb of Tirohanga, only one house back from the beach. There are 30 houses/baches and about half of them are holiday homes. Of the other half at least 40% are occupied by retired people. Lots of them have pets and I fill my animal craving by frequently visiting them. I’m even lucky enough to have a nearly daily visit from my neighbours cat, “Smoke” I can’t see the beach but at night I can hear the waves crashing. I’m physically fit and as I live near a beautiful beach I walk on the beach or cycle track daily. I do 20 to 40 minutes with the occasional 60 minutes thrown in for good luck. I love to read and play board or card games, especially word games. I’m enjoying my retirement but feel like I need to stretch myself a little and house sitting will do that. I’m a gregarious but also very happy with my own company as long as I have a book to read! I’m definitely conscious and reliable as my references will concur. I’ve dog, cat and chicken sat for friends in Opotiki

Hello, My name is Therese, I am in my late 40s and I've been a house sitter and pet minder for friends/family for over a decade. I've returned to live in NZ last year and as my work is mostly temporary contracts, sometimes from home, I find house sitting has been a great way to resettle and explore new areas. I take great pride in where I live, whether I am renting or house sitting, and like to keep my surroundings clean and tidy. While I may not be required to do additional jobs I am more than happy to take on a few tasks - time permitting. Regarding animals, I've looked after cats, dogs, chickens, birds, fish, lizards, rabbits and (while living abroad) hamsters and snakes so happy handling/walking most critters! I am honest, friendly, easy going and happy to help out. Please feel free to contact my referees. Kind regards, Therese

Hi My name is Susan. I am an Aucklander and I love to travel when I can. I grew up always having cats and dogs as part of the family. When I was married and we bought our first house, having pets was a top priority. After 3 years we had 3 cats (Tabby, Tina and Kate) and 2 Beagles (Tony and Lucy). I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. I no longer have pets of my own so I would really love the opportunity to care for yours, either outside of Auckland when I ready for a break or in Auckland for a 'staycation' I am mature, responsible, respectful and resourceful. My house sitting to-date has been through word of mouth or through Housesitters.co.nz and I haven't met an animal yet that I haven't got on with and enjoyed. Please check my references and feel free to contact my referees. I would love to meet you and your pets and have the opportunity to care for them and your home. Thanks Susan

I am a budding writer (at this stage for pleasure), travelling around the country gathering inspiration for stories, house and pet sitting is a perfect fit to help me to continue writing. My preference is for house sits that are of longer duration, and will consider other opportunities as well. As a previous home and pet owner, I know how important it is to have a home looked lived in and pets well cared for. My green thumb is not too bad either. I am happy to say "Hi" to your neighbours if you are friendly with them so they are happy with a new person in their neighbourhood as well. I have experience with cats and dogs, chickens the odd fish and one snail... I am very happy to have a pet curled up on my lap - if they want to! I will be writing from home, so there most of the day to keep pets company and well loved. I am an easy going, friendly person who is clean and tidy and appreciates a clean and tidy home to sit. I am security conscious and happy to water your plants as well. I look forward to meeting with you via Skype, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger Video Calling (or if you Zoom, send me a link) to chat further. Current dates available for 2023: 7th November to 22nd December Warmest, Tracey

I am a full-time mother of my amazing 11 year old daughter. We both love animals. I am extremely confident and experienced looking after animalsof all sizes. We have an enormous respect for your property and belongings. I will keep everything very neat and tidy. If you have any other jobs I am happy to help. My work as a writer will be structured around my other commitments. Once I am divorced, I will design us a perfect tiny house. Meantime we do not need a rental property full of stuff. My daughter and I are verry happy as long as we are together.

Hello, my name is Nelly and my partner’s name is Mario, we are a young couple with 3 years of relationship and together we´ve been traveling around all Mexico and at this moment we are in New Zealand knowing their culture. The reason why we are interested in being a housesitting, is because it’s a great opportunity for us to keep knowing new places, traveling and at the same time make a exchange for our services and have the responsibility for taking care of a house impeccable as if it were our own home, and also have the time to continue developing our online projects and saving some money in our expenses during the tine we are in NZ. Mario has the experience as a housesitting, for 2 years he was in charge of the administration care and cleanness (cleanness made by himself) of one in Merida Yucatan, Mexico, that has 5 rooms and at that time the rooms were rented for students. As a couple we had have the experience of renting a house and a department which we always kept impeccable and with the best care possible. We both consider ourselves as animal lovers, We had the responsibility of taking care of several dogs belonging to family and friends for a few weeks, due to the trust they have in us for the good care we give them, likewise, we have rescued a dog in the jungle of Riviera Maya, Mexico, who has a disability in one of her legs. We provide her a home and care, her name is Mochis and she is now on the care of Mario Parents, she is a very educated dog, we miss her a lot. You can expect from us complete responsibility and love for your home and your animals as if they were our own, considering and respecting 100% the tasks that will be assigned to us.

Hi I am a 35 year old female professional currently working in Christchurch as a civil engineer. I am going on a sabbatical for January and February as I would like to take a break from everyday life and would like to travel around New Zealand. I absolutely love animals and my dream is to one day own a play farm. I had cats and dogs growing up and I am fully aware of the responsibilities of taking care of a pet. I get lots of energy and happiness from spending time with animals and therefore your pets will be very well looked after.

Allan: retired teacher, and Jenny: retired pharmacist and administrator. We are an active retired couple, reliable and trustworthy, involved with several of our local community groups and activities. We lived and worked in Christchurch for 22 years, before moving to Papamoa 7 years ago. We have owned our own home for most of our 48 years of marriage, and have always taken pride in keeping both house and garden tidy and well maintained. We are genuine animal lovers and have had our own pets, mostly dogs, for all of that time. As our sons were growing up, our household pets also included a cockatiel, a black-hooded rat, and 2 goldfish! We have also frequently looked after a neighbour's diabetic cat, including giving daily insulin injections. As we are retired, we have more time to devote to your pets and your home. After our last elderly dog passed away 5 years ago, we really missed having a dog in our home, so became approved volunteer puppy boarders for Blind/Low Vision puppies, and are still enjoying providing this service. Allan's parents were dairy farmers, and he loved farm life. He is an enthusiastic golfer and gardener, a Justice of the Peace, and volunteers for the Papamoa Community patrol. Jenny is also a keen gardener, enjoys both an exercise/social group and a craft group, volunteers regularly at Good Neighbour Food Rescue, and loves being involved with a Music and Movement group for preschoolers and their Mums. We both belong to Probus, and are also rostered on for several roles at our church. As we have friends and family in Christchurch and various parts of the North Island, we are excited about the prospect of house sitting when we travel to those areas, as well as when we explore new areas that we haven't yet been to. We really hope that you will contact us so that we can look after your home as though it were our own and give your pets the best possible TLC. If they require medication, we are happy to administer that as well. We look forward to hearing from you.

Hi, my name is Olya. I usually start my mornings at 6 am with a coffee and a stroll on the beach. I love exploring nature, but I believe I am a city gal at heart. Being able to work from anywhere and having the ability to choose the hours that I work gives me the flexibly of where I want to be. I love animals and I would relish the opportunity to look after your fur baby like it's my own. If you do not have pets, I am happy to look after your home. I am reliable, caring, extremely clean and respectful. I look forward to hearing from you.

We are both in our early 70's and recently retired. We have always had a dog and cats while our 4 children were growing. Now they all have their own family of animals both dogs and cats that we have grown to love, and when they go on holiday, we care for them. As well as grandparent duties around the country, which of course includes caring for their pets, we enjoy travel, do lots of reading, gardening and have fun cycling around the various cycleways in our local area. We would welcome the opportunity to care for your pets while at the same time enjoying time in your community. We are proud home owners and enjoy time spent in our large garden. We guarantee your privacy while caring for your home and pets.

Kia ora, we are Holly (32) and Jamie (34), a professional, homeowning, engaged couple with 4 years house and pet-sitting experience. We are looking forward to taking care of your lovely home and giving your fur babies (if you have them) all the love and care they need each day. We were full-time sitters for two years 2020-2022. We cared for a huge variety of pets and homes across New Zealand during this time both through this site and private referals. We have always had excellent reviews which we are happy to share. In 2023 we purchased our own home and took a break from sitting through official sites (private networks only). Now in 2024 we are available for longer-term sits again while our home undergoes renovations. We are excited to especially to enjoy some time with pets and explore some new places again. We missed it! We are clean and tidy - Jamie finds cleaning his relaxing happy place - and quiet sorts that like a good book in the evening. Holly has green thumbs and is more than happy to look after any veggie patch or compost heap needing some care. For the pet parents: we are animal lovers. We grew up with pets and can provide references from the home and pet owners we've helped. We are no stranger to dogs and cats needing a bit of extra care, special diets, or who are a bit older. We are more than happy to take a slower walk and pop some arthritis medicine in food if needed! We have cared for all personalities, from super shy kitties like (recently rescued) Archie (1) and Nemo (4), to big attitude, feline fluff balls like Oscar (10) and Early (10) and older chill cats like Mishka (24). When it comes to pups we have cared for every shape and size from the big boys and girls - Suzie (9 year old Greyhound-Huntaway Cross), Ngaio (12 year old Labrador), Fergie (12 year old German Shepard) and Lila and Otis (15 year old Boxers) - to smaller pups like Lochie (2 year old Schnauzer-Welsh Terrier), Teddy (16 year old Shih Tzu) and big energy, little puppy Moss (under 1 Australian Terrier) who we cared for a lot throughout 2023. We don't have much experience beyond cats, dogs and chickens (have owned and looked after these too) but are happy to get to know your llamas or other exciting furry family members. A bit about us: We are sustainability professionals and passionate about the environment. Jamie is an ex-lawyer, now working as a senior policy advisor in government and Holly is the sustainability manager for a large corporate in the construction sector. We love getting out in nature, cycling, surfing, cooking, gardening, and reading good books in the sun. Happy to chat more if you are interested in meeting us.

Hi, I love living with animals, and really miss not having been able to care for one of my own, be it a cat or a dog, due to my living situation and lifestyle. I'm pretty active, enjoying tramping, running, cycling and going to the gym. Reading, drawing and meditation are also important for me. I've started my first garden in decades - pretty exciting. I don't smoke. I am currently teaching migrants and refugees part time during term time, and studying Te Reo Maori with TWOA. I spend a lot of time at home and have a flexible lifestyle. House sitting offers the chance to catch up with friends and activities in other regions. It's also a good opportunity to have some 'quiet' time for study, as I live in a house with other people. It's a great household, but it's just nice to mix it up.

Retired, non smoker, healthy, vaccinated (3). Hi, I’m Dorothy, 68. I am retired during the 30th year in last job. I live in the Hauraki area (Paeroa) and I like walking, gardening, food, being with friends and family, having pets as good company and am a champion for SPCA and WAP as animals need our help as well. I was raised on a dairy farm, lots of animals and pets while growing up and I live on a dairy farm at the moment, have been house sitting for my ex-colleagues as well for the last couple of years. This included cats, dogs, sheep, cattle, chooks and an eel (enjoyed that). They have rebooked me again and again and I am happy to help them. One of the house sits was in the hills, very private and tranquil which I enjoyed the peace and serenity there. I have also done for H/S sits in Tauranga, Papamoa and Wellington, their references are attached. Lately I have been helping out friends/family with sitting for their friends in different parts of NZ. It would be a pleasure to look after your home and/or pets. I would be happy to send photos/updates while you are away (e-mail or text only, not involved with social media sorry), so you can relax knowing they are being loved and cared for. It was a joke at ex-work that I liked things tidy and clean. Please check my references (refs recently have been verbal only, all nice to hear though) and happy for you to contact them if you wish to check how it went. Bye for now. Dorothy

Hi our names are Maryna and Neil, We are close to retiring and feel it is our time to discover the rest of the South Island in New Zealand and while doing that, do what we enjoy and that is looking after peoples pets and a little gardening while we at it. We immigrated here 11 years ago and have been living in the Catlins ever since so love to explore . As we do not have animals of our own (not by choice) this will also give us a great opportunity to enjoy other people's pets while we are on breaks. We are reliable and trustworthy and are managing a holiday park in the Catlins. This is a 24/7 entity and being in hospitality means we know what is expected from cleanliness and client communication. Neil is a handyman and extremely keen garderner so finds himself very busy most of the time. We both are pet lovers and with previous housesitting experience in London, South Africa and in the Catlins, we have done a lot of dog walking, cuddling cats and even looked after pigs, horses and chickens. We both love fishing and used to take our doggies with us (back in South Africa) so they could have a good run around, and when given the chance they would steal some of our catch! It would be our privilege to help home owners out by looking after their homes and taking care of their pets ( with lots of love) putting their minds at ease. We love to update owners at any time as to how things are going back home. Please feel free to contact our referees and ask any further questions you may want answered.

I, Caroline Mundy, is a recently retired Civil/Structural engineer. I was born and raised in Malaysia, but went to Britain for my tertiary studies. I graduated from Cardiff University with an honours degree in Civil and Structural Engineering and later gained a Masters degree in the same subject at Sheffield University. I am married to Chris Mundy, an editor at NZQA, Wellington. Chris and I grew up with pets in our families, and from this we gained a life-long love of animals. Over the years, we have had many different animals as pets, including a sheep which eventually died of old age!, a golden retriever, a duckling, rabbits, a weta and doves, all of which were much loved by us and our two children. We also adopted the school's cockatoo and axolotl during school holidays. We took our friend's cat to be with our family whilst they worked overseas. Sadly, our adorable all white cat named Pearl has passed away and we no longer have any pets. So, it would be really lovely to be able to look after someone else's pets. As we no longer have children living with us, we have more freedom to explore and travel to new places, which we both love doing. It also enables us to take a break from our rather busy lives by housesitting every now and then. Having pets with our accommodation is an added bonus to us. We are responsible and respectful people who want to help other families have peace of mind whilst they are away. We are friendly, trustworthy, do not smoke nor drink alcohol, are not party people and are Christians. Please look through our references and feel free to contact our referees, who will be more than happy to vouch for our character and our ability to look after pets and homes. We have joined the House Sitting Company not too long ago and have not done many house sits because we prefer weekends or short sits. This is because Chris still works full time and he would like to avoid taking too much leave for house sits where possible. We are both fully vaccinated. Yours sincerely Caroline and Chris Mundy References Graham Worthington Mike Fearn

Kia Ora, We are Michelle and Pascal from Germany. Currently we are traveling around NewZealand and we’re always looking for new experiences. On our way to find accommodation we found this app and thought it would be a great opportunity for us. We both love animals and would love to take care of your home and pets. I’m Michelle and I would describe myself as a happy person that is patient, active, loves animals and pays attention to detail. I’m Pascal and I would describe myself as an active person that likes to be outside. I’m responsible and I’m an animal lover. Me and my brother Pascal have a dog in Germany and we also had bunnies over the years. Our dog is a labrador and very active. We always play with her and take her on long walks. We know how to take care over cats as well. We took care over my friends cats when they went on vacation. Michelle also took care of her hostfamilies cat during her exchange year in the USA. We already have experience with housesitting in NewZealand. We had an housesit in Christchurch and we both loved it. We took care of an spaniel cocker and a lovely cat. We are confident that we have the skills and experience necessary to provide excellent care for your home and pets. If the homeowner chooses us as sitters they can expect kind, responsible and reliable people which are excited about the opportunity to care for your home and pets while you are away. We are available for full-time work. We are comfortable caring for pets of all sizes and we are comfortable caring for homes of all sizes. We are looking foward to be your pets sitters. Kia Ora, My name is Marama Mitchell and my Partner is Jack Baigent. We have two children Tui is 7 years old and Kahu is 6 years old. I am a physiotherapist and Jack is a web designer and videographer. We all live in Tawa, Wellington. Jack, myself and the kids all love the outdoors, going for walks, parks and the beach. We enjoy exercising and enjoy walking so walking a dog(s) would not feel like a chore but would be welcomed company. Jack and I are responsible and reliable individuals who are excited about the opportunity to care for your home and pets while you are away. Jack and I have grown up with family cats and dogs and know how they are important members of the family. We have also looked after a variety of animals at Tui's Montessori pre-school. We don't have room for animals at our house but would love the children to experience what that would be like by caring for your pets. During our time living and studying in Auckland we used to house sit for a family friend who lived in Herne Bay. This included which looking after their dog Cappuccino. We loved it! We lived in a small apartment in the city, so it felt like such a treat staying in a Herne Bay house with a pool. We have never forgotten how special it was to look after someones home and pet and get the opportunity to explore a new area of Auckland. We would love to be able to share similar experiences with our children. I am confident that Jack and I can provide an excellent service. We are reliable, responsible and friendly. We will treat your home and pets as if they were our own. We are comfortable caring for pets of all sizes and comfortable caring for homes of all sizes. I look forward to hearing from you! Kind regards, Marama Mitchell

Hello there, My name is Donna and I'm a 60 year old mother of three children. I grew up in the Hutt Valley and have spent most of my life in the Wellington/Wairarapa area. For the past 10 years, I've been a healthcare assistance at a number of retirement villages in the Wellington region. While not working, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, going for bush walks and reading a good novel. I've previously done the odd house sit for friends and family, however with my children having all now left home and coming up to retirement, I'm keen to look at housesitting more frequently. I love animals and our family has all grown up with both cats and dogs. Since a young age, we owned family dogs with the first being Budda who was a Lab x Dobberman and the most recent being Bella who was a Border Collie x Irish Settler. I understand it can be stressful for pet/house owners when they go away to not have someone watching over their homes or keeping their pets company. I get a real buzz out of helping people and providing reassurance that when they go away, they're pets/house will be in good hands. I'm aware that all pets have their own individual needs and am respectful and accepting of these. I consider myself to be a reliable, responsible and trustworthy person. I can't wait to look after your pets and house and look after them as if they were my own. Chat soon. Donna

I am a well organised & respectful person & very reliable/trusting after 31 years in the international banking & finance industry & private consultancy space. I am now working on a NZ Government (MFAT) international aid & development programme since November 2020 that covers 12 countries across the Pacific. I lived & travelled overseas for almost 20 years & returned to NZ in mid 2020 during the midst of Covid & am now double vaccinated & double boosted as well. I have the utmost integrity while maintaining a solid moral compass & set of values. I am also an avid & long-term part time student & I am in the throes of completing my PhD qualification by 2024. I/we are interested in house sitting because I love travel & visiting new places after having travelled & worked overseas in many countries since the mid 1990s. I have house sat for many personal friends & work colleagues in the past including pet minding including a few housesitting assignments with the Housesitting Company now under my belt ranging from 10 days up to 6 weeks (which I am undertaking as I write this). The range of animals is also extensive & has included dogs, cats, goats & even kuni kuni pigs while I have also been charged with administering medicine. I come from a rural & farming background & so I am very comfortable & accustomed to being around animals of all shapes & sizes & descriptions. My hobbies include study, travel, health & fitness, fishing, diving, hunting & most outdoor & water activities. You can rest assured that any required tasks of me during a house sit will be fully complied with including pet minding & that your property will be in exactly the same pristine condition as you left it with all agreed rules respected. My partner, Evangeline, flies in & out from/to overseas as she is working offshore & so there may be the odd occasion when she will accompany me on a house sit if she is NZ at the time but I will advise you should this be the case.

As a previous home owner I understand how important it is to care after a home. Furnishing a home can be costly so I always make sure when house sitting that I'm always cautious of peoples belongings. There's nothing worse than a carpet stain!! But I make sure this sort of thing never happens. I'm a single 40 year old business owner and before getting back into the property market I've decided to do housesitting for the rest of the year. I've looked after both cats and dogs in the past. I am very tidy and respectful and love animals! Open to any questions you may have about me! Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi there! I'm very new at this, but have lived alone for the past few years. We are an easygoing couple, who like to spend our offdays hiking, cycling and surfing. I'm a PE teacher and work in the outdoor sector, she's studying to become the best police woman in town. So, trying to live as healthy as possible, love cooking some nice meals. We're pretty tidy as we can't handle the mess. My mom's dust allergic so the cleaning I got from her, haha. "If the kitchen is dirty, your whole house is dirty": is one of her favourite sayings. We (he)did have pets at home: 8 cats, 4 dogs, some chickens and even 2 goats, were our guests ones. I loved them all! And I miss them. I have experience in gardening, since I did it as a holiday-job and gained the trust of my parents back in the days, to do it at home as well! Only straight lines, satisfaction! If you want me to fix something, I can do that for you, handyman, did a lot of renovation and maintenance on our house. She grew up on an orchard, always helping her dad. Driving the tractor, forklift, mower. Volunteering at the fire department is her main hobby. Kind regards!

Hello my name is Dave! I am a very healthy and fit retired builder/joiner. For 30 years I ran my own building and joinery company. I have been living in Australia and have recently returned as the heat was too much for me! My lovely wife passed away a few years ago after 47 years of marriage. As I am on my own I feel housesitting would be a wonderful way for me to meet new people and see a little bit of New Zealand. House sitting is such a wonderful win-win for all parties involved and since I have no ties, I am able to have the pleasure of helping homeowners go away, care for their beloved pets and home, whilst being able to explore my own 'back yard'. House sitting will also allow me to decide more of the region of New Zealand I want to purchase a property in, in the future. I am currently living with my twin sister in Paraparaumu and helping her look after her two Jack Russells. I have three sons and four wonderful grandchildren. I have always owned German Shepherds throughout my life as they are my favourite breed and such a great natured dog. I have also owned cats as well. I am a keen gardener and also enjoy fishing and snooker. Thank you for taking the time to consider my profile and I believe that with my experience throughout life, I would be of great help to any homeowner needing care for their pets and home. Warmest, David.

Hi there, My name is Laura, I am originally from Brazil and have been living in New Zealand for almost 8 years now. I am a digital marketer passionate about communicating/connecting with people. I am well-organized and understand the importance of maintaining a clean and tidy living space. I believe that a neat environment contributes to a sense of peace and well-being, both for you and your pet. I'm a responsible and reliable person with a love for animals. I had a few pets when growing up, including a pitbull crossbreed, and she was our best friend and companion at home, so I understand the love and care they require. I have lived in a flat for 4.5 years with an amazing cat called Pango. He was my daily dose of joy, and I loved snuggling with him in bed. Even though we now live in separate houses, I continue to look after him and house-sit for my friends whenever needed. During my time off, you'll find me exercising, enjoying the outdoors, reading, watching some movies or catching up with friends. I value the balance between personal well-being and social connections. I'm here to bring you and your pet a fun and stress-free house-sitting experience. You can count on me to keep your house in order and provide plenty of belly rubs and playtime for your furry companion. I'll make sure your pet feels right at home while you're away and that they receive the same level of love and attention, making sure they feel safe and loved in their familiar surroundings. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything else you'd like to know. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Warm regards, Laura.

Greetings Home and Pet Owners, Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Norman Ronald Mcfadyen. I was born and raised in Northumberland. My father and his ancestors came from the Isle of Mull, my mother’s from Northern Ireland. My accent is hard to place, as I have travelled extensively in my life and have had to learn to modify my accent over the years, to be comprehensible to others. I am a very friendly and gregarious soul, who loves the company of both people and animals. I have worked in mental health for over 30 years; initially, as a psychiatric nurse and later as a mental health clinician and therapist. I have also worked in performing arts for nearly as long, as a professional actor mainly. These days, I combine my love of theatre and education to teach others some successful strategies, to navigate the bumpy paths of life. I do a little bit of homeschool teaching and I am an instructor at the New Zealand Stage and Screen combat school in Birkenhead. I came back home to New Zealand in March 2020, after having lived back in the UK for a couple of years, looking after my father. I came back to Auckland for my son’s wedding and found myself marooned due to the Covid lockdown. My father died shortly after I arrived and therefore I have no need to go back in the UK. My life and living is very flexible as a single man of 54 years of age. I enjoy playing my ukulele and singing every day and have a successful Christmas business, portraying Father Christmas himself. I have had pets all my life, both cats and dogs, when living in my own property. Since being marooned here in 2020, I have missed them dearly. I am not in a position to have my own pets, due to uncertainty going forward. I would be more than delighted to spend my time with your loved ones in the meantime. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future. Kind Regards, Norman

I have been looking after all sorts of cats and a few breeds of dogs : poodles, husky, fox terrier, labradors... I think I am nice and tidy person, very caring and I also love gardening! Hi, my name is Tess. I'm a 36-year-old woman who is very responsible, kind, loves animals, and takes especially good care of the spaces I live in. I am originally from Dunedin and (usually) live in Melbourne. This year, I am studying the masters of creative writing in Wellington at Te Herenga Waka, which I am very excited about. I love writing and after 10 years working in various writing and communication roles in Australia (currently at the University of Melbourne), I am ready to get stuck into a year of poetry and live back in New Zealand for this period. I'm very much looking forward to being in Wellington, too. I have had a lot of experience looking after pets and gardens, both growing up with pets and having my own cat, Mica, who I absolutely dore, in Melbourne. I would care for your pet just as much and understand how important it is to have someone you trust with them, as I am also leaving Mica with someone when I am away this year. My home is also very important to me. I love to keep my spaces tidy and calm, which friends often comment on, and would look after yours the same. A big love of mine is gardening. At my current place in Melbourne, where I live alone, I have made a vegetable garden (and planted flowers) and manage the weeding of the main garden for the block of 15 units. This was something I took on myself because I love it. I have become friendly with so many of my neighbours this way too. I also like cooking, reading, dancing, swimming, walks in the bush, camping, listening to music, nice meals with friends. I would take exceptional care of your garden, pet and home. I am a big believer in communication and am always very responsive. I am also pretty handy and a good problem solver, so any issues I should be able to figure out a solution. I would be happy to keep you up-to-date with how your place/pet/garden is going too. Please ask me any questions - I think it's very important to feel comfortable with the person in your space, so I'm very happy to talk! I can also provide references on request. Tess :)

Hi there. My name is Ruth. I am semi-retired, fit and active. I have had dogs and later also cats and chickens all my life. I am confident handling large dogs as I frequently have my son and daughter-in-law's two Labradors to stay for weeks at a time. I'm a keen gardener and am happy to do any gardening work while housesitting. I also have a passion for restoring/renovating old houses and so confident about tackling any issues that may arise with your home while you are away. I spent most of my paid working in the health and social sector. I no longer go out to work, but continue to work from home researching, writing and advocating in my specialist areas. This means I would be at home most of the time to care for your pets and keep them company. I hope that you will consider entrusting me with your house and pets while you are away and look forward to meeting you. Kind regards Ruth

Hi, my name is Morgan. I am a friendly, gentle and caring individual who enjoys business/ property investing, reading and coffee. I am a property manager who enjoys houses and caring for them. I would love a change of scenery and to help fund my new start up business where I can save on rent. I often house sit my mums place when I check on a couple properties I manage in Christchurch and thoroughly enjoy it (I reside in Auckland). I adore animals and caring for them especially being outdoors. In the past I have had a cat and my mum has a dog so having pets around is very comfortable for me. I like to keep the property immaculate and to ensure all tasks are completed and animals are happy. I enjoy living an active, clean and positive way of life and would love to be your next house sitter. Look forward to connecting soon.

Life is one big adventure! I like to be kept busy; I love to travel, discovering out of the way places, meeting new people & embracing life. But my family pets have always been a top priority. House sitting offers some exciting opportunities, but more specifically it will provide me with the pleasures of 'adopting' your family pets, if only for a short time. (And, I certainly miss not having my own pet to care for). There has always been a cat or dog (or both) in the house and then there have been the children's tropical fish, German rat, guinea pigs, rabbits, and birds! We've even had a couple of cats 'adopt' us! I also volunteered for 18 months at a bird rescue centre a few years ago which was a very rewarding experience. From a young age until her early 20s, I also used to spend a lot of time at my aunt & uncles farm where they had a dairy herd, goats and a chicken run. Animals have always featured in my life. I have been fortunate to have had some wonderful House & pet sitting opportunities over the past 3 years (with a global house sitting company) looking after dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and birds - most of these sits were while I was based in the UK. I'm now cutting back on my time away from NZ and, after hearing very positive comments about The Housesitting Company, have decided to join so that I can focus more on NZ sits. I'd be delighted to look after and love your family pets and I will take excellent care of your home. It's a responsibility that I take seriously and I hope you might consider me to look after your precious fur babies and your home while you are away.

We live in a motorhome and have housesat at a few homes which has been very successful. John has bred and shown dogs for 9 years and I grew up and had cats over many years. We have had positive feedback from homeowners as we have kept gardens tidy and get satisfaction from leaving a home cleaner than when we arrived. We keep good health and love exploring new areas.I am known to walk for many miles and we have our own bikes. We have only ever had dogs and cats but wouldn't be averse to looking after something different.

Hello, we are a middle aged, tidy and responsible professional couple (teachers). We look forward to house sitting during our NZ wide travel plans from December through to April 2024, after 3 years away working. We love animals and between us have a wide range of pet care experience. We are non-drinkers and non-smokers and will endeavor to take the best care of any house, property and pets we are charged with. Both of us have cared for a range of pets throughout our lives including cats, dogs, turtles and fish and more and we will care for your home and pets as if they are our own for the duration of a sit. We like to walk and explore our natural surroundings, listen to and play/ sing music, plants and gardening and cooking great food. We enjoy our own company and like to relax and converse and believe we'd make great conscientious and trustworthy house-sitters . Thanks and kind regards, Brent & Ajeng

I am a single entrepreneur looking to expand my business. Why not help people out as I grow? My life and work are super flexible so central city or suburban homes suit me just fine. I have been house sitting on and off for ten years, sometimes just homes and other occasions with cats and dogs. I'm from a family of pet lovers so have always been around animals. I love them all! After your break you can expect to return to a clean and tidy home, just as you left it. It's important to me to treat other peoples homes and animals as if they were my own, while they are in my care. My feedback to date has been very positive!

We look forward to housesitting for you.

Hi there! We have sold our lifestyle block, dream home and animals, preferring to travel and the company of new friends. We are currently undecided about our final destination but looking forward to the journey. We resigned from our jobs in November 2015 and have spent the last 4 years + travelling the world and house sitting. We have enjoyed the hospitality of many kind, like minded people across the world, have wonderful memories and enjoyed finding our way in new lands and communities. We love life, people, animals, good wine, good coffee, good food and great company. Our pet-caring experience is extensive and varied - dogs (large & small, rescue), cats, fish, ponies, sheep, quails, chickens etc. If you have pets, be assured that we truly appreciate the security they feel with a familiar schedule/exercise/playtime routine and promise you that your customs, requirements and feeding schedule will be adhered to. However, we know from experience, it's not just animals who can suffer from separation anxiety! To remedy this we send regular updates of your pets. We are practical people and as experienced house sitters are used to dealing with a wide variety of issues - blown fuses, power outages, water issues, pools, security, etc. In summary: - - We offer honesty, reliability and commitment. - We guarantee security-conscious, respectful care of your property. - We assure you that your pets will have plenty of attention and loving company whilst you are away. We are always keen to Skype, Whatsapp or Messenger to get to know you and answer any important questions.. We very much look forward to hearing from you. Police checks and additional international references are available on request. Warmest, Jenny and Peter.

We are a family of 4+1 - Mum, Dad, 2x daughters aged 16 and18 years (our 18 yo will most likely not join us). We would like to have a holiday with the comforts of home including a pet to come home to. We have a Mini Schnauzer named Ollie who is 3 years old. We walk him daily on the beach or park and socialise him with other dogs as much as possible. My sister also has a Mini Schnauzer x Lowchen so they would dogsit for us while we are away. We love dogs and cats and would treat them like we do our own. Chris was brought up with cats and his family and a few friends own cats which we have fed and looked after while they have been away over the years. If you choose us as a sitter you can be sure we will take good care of your pets and your house/garden like it is our own.

We are a reliable, honest, caring Christian couple who are young enough to cope with most pet care and home care situations, but mature enough to be settled, secure and wise house sitters. We care for the homes and pets like they were ours. We have been housesitting for about 5 years and have used the time to visit family, see other parts of the country, become more flexible and meet some really lovely pets and their owners. We have been rated highly with each sit we have had and had many repeat offers to housesit. We are currently in the process of preparing our house for sale and are especially looking for homes and pets in the Wellington region from April to May 2024. We are moving to the South Island around July/August and wish to continue our house sitting in the North and South Islands once we are settled. We are very caring, loving and responsible with pets and homes alike. We follow the owners guidelines for the pets comfort and routine. We walk dogs as often as their owners request and will care for their animals in the best way we can. We leave the home exactly as we find it, if not better. We have owned a dog and two cats. Both come from a rural background with animals. We have just sat for members of our family with chickens, ducks, cows and dogs on a rural property but we have also sat in Wellington City and Devonport in Auckland, with more City animals. We own our own home, have lived in 7 different properties in 5 different cities in the 51 years we have been married.

I am an active 54 year old lady based in Wellington with 4 grown up children. I love exploring new places, having new adventures and spending time connecting with animals. I have had a beautiful beagle dog for 12 years who has now gone to doggy heaven and also a number of delightful cats. I keep a very clean tidy house, enjoy gardening and indoor plants. I am a very reliable dependable person who communicates well. I love my job working as a Dental Assistant in a busy private practice in Karori. To relax I enjoy reading, cooking, meeting friends for coffee, spending time with my adult children, swimming, snorkeling, walking and knitting. I also enjoy taking my friends therapy dog for visits to our local retirement home.

Steve and I have been married for almost 42 years and are semi-retired parents and grandparents. We are young at heart and enjoy spending time with our family, grandchildren, and friends. Steve is a part time IT contractor and often works from home. I also work part time, as a self employed private house cleaner. Working part time gives us both the freedom to enjoy not only our hobbies and interests but the grandchildren as well - we often pick them up from school and spend time together. Steve & I both have several different hobbies and interests that we enjoy when we have the chance. I enjoy reading, listening to music, knitting, English paper piecing, hand quilting, and cardmaking. Steve has a great interest in NZ Railway History, railway modelling, listening to music, and gardening. We both enjoy an active lifestyle - anything that involves walking - as well as visiting local garage sales and markets. We have housesat for family and cared for their pets, and we have had cats & birds almost all of our married life. We have been dog sitting our grandchildrens’ wee dog on several occasions over the last 2 years. As a homeowner you can expect us to totally respect and care for your home and property and as a private housecleaner and a self confessed perfectionist you would be coming home to a clean and tidy house at the end of your time away.

I am 24 year old aquatic ecologist with a passion for nature, animals, and marine biology. Growing up surrounded by the stunning wilderness of Canada has fostered a love for the outdoors within me. House sitting provides me with the perfect opportunity to combine my love for exploring new environments with the joy I derive from caring for animals. It's not just about safeguarding a physical space; it's about creating a nurturing and loving environment for your pets while you're away. Throughout my life, I've had the privilege of sharing my home with three wonderful family dogs—a husky and two golden retrievers. Additionally, I've actively participated in fostering three medium-sized dogs: a Basset Hound, an American Bulldog, and an Australian Shepherd. This experience has honed my skills in understanding and meeting the unique needs of different breeds. Moreover, I've been a reliable go-to for neighbours, taking care of their cats, both indoor and outdoor, whenever they embark on vacations. I have volunteered at several farms with chickens, livestock (pigs, cows, goats and alpacas) and guinea fowl and feel comfortable with the added responsibility that comes with their care. Specifically, I have experience with egg handling and coop care. Finally, I have personally raised a Green Tree Frog and rescued a Garter Snake and two Mini Parrots. Choosing me as your house sitter means entrusting your home and beloved pets to someone who is not only responsible and dependable but also genuinely cares about their well-being. I will ensure that your home is maintained with the utmost respect and diligence, keeping it in the condition you left it. As an avid animal lover, I'll provide your pets with the affection, attention, and routine they need, ensuring they feel secure and content during your absence. Daily walks, playtime, and proper care will be integral parts of my routine. In addition to my commitment to your pets, I am more than willing to keep you updated with regular communications, including photos and messages, so you can enjoy your time away with peace of mind.

Hi, we are Tracey & Mick - both self employed work from home professionals. Tracey is a weight loss consultant & Mick an IT consultant. We are parents of 4 adult children & are a blended family. We have no pets at present and decided not to, to allow us to travel more easily. Previously we had 9 chickens - our 'other children'. We love animals and have had experience with our own cats (5), rabbit, guinea pigs, chickens and a Labrador dog (Abby). We even got to look after Sea Monkeys for one of our boys. One of our boys has Purebred American Bulldogs & we love visiting & playing with them. In the recent Auckland floods (for the 2nd time) close friends of ours bought their 6 chickens to us, to care for, until they were able to live in their home again - the first time we had them for over 6 months and more recently 3 months. Their 'babies' were well loved & looked after. Mick is a keen diver and loves to get out in the garden, Tracey used to be a professional cleaner so keeping a home sparkling clean is my thing - I also love mowing lawns. We both love to walk and do lengthier hikes & can be found in the mornings trying to beat each other at Wordle & Quordle. We are both people who take pride and care not only in our home (including the grounds) but any home we visit or stay in. We absolutely both respect your home is your castle, that your pets are your joy and we want you to go away knowing we will love your animals and care for them & your house (and grounds if required) so you can just relax. We both have the ability to work anywhere with a good internet connection. Depending on which one of us is working we will always have plenty of time to love, pet, cuddle, brush or walk your pet(s).

Hi there I am a quiet and responsible cat-lover. I can't have a cat of my own in my current situation, so I'd love to come and look after yours while you are away. I lived in my last flat for nine years, and have moved on as the owners decided to sell. House-sitting is a great opportunity for me to save on rent and have some quality cat time. I have chronic fatigue syndrome which means that I am unable to work regular hours at the moment, but this means that I will be around most of the day and have plenty of time to devote to your pets. I've had several beloved cats of my own over the years and I always feel like a house isn't a home without a cat. We always had cats when I was growing up and I was lucky enough to be able to have a cat in my last flat. After he died, I've definitely had a cat-shaped hole in my life. I enjoy reading, sewing, and a bit of furniture upcycling. I have a growing collection of house plants which I've kept alive for several years! I'm a very clean and tidy person and will take care of your house and pets like they are my own. I would love the opportunity to meet you and talk about your house-sitting needs. Cheers Joanna

Hi there, My name is Nancy and I am a clean living and retired lady. I have 2 daughters who are both married with children (3 Grandchildren) and I have had my own businesses in Takapuna, Auckland, selling antiques and old jewellery. I retired from this in 2009. I also owned and managed a Motor Inn in Brisbane, Australia. I have owned and managed my own houses most of my life and I have always had a cat (unfortunately had to have my most recent pussy cat put down last year at a ripe old age of 15years. His name was William and he was an Ocicat). I am extremely responsible, love animals and any homeowner could expect their pets to be loved and cherished just as if they were my own and your property well maintained, kept secure and clean and tidy. I keep very fit and active and enjoy walking, so if you have any dogs that require this I will be very happy to take them out with me. Thank you for taking the time to consider my online profile and I hope to meet with you and your fur babies soon. Warmest, Nancy.

Kia ora, my name is Suzanne, and I have lived both overseas and in New Zealand. Due to the Covid pandemic I returned to Wellington in October 2020, New Zealand after working for Emirates Airline as a Senior Graphic Designer. I grew up in a large family in Lower Hutt with pets, dogs, cats, and canaries. In Dubai, I adopted a dog, a cross-breed desert dog from the street, and later adopted another dog through my sister's friends. Their names were Blondie and Didi. They have crossed over the canine rainbow now. Over the years I have looked after pets for friends and family. The reason why I joined The Housesitting Company was because I would like to have a change of scenery sometimes as it influences me in a positive way and helps me with my creativity. I love to go swimming, walking, and meeting friends for coffee in town. I enjoy watching documentaries, movies and TV dramas. I am a very clean and tidy person, caring, quiet, and considerate of others.

I am currently living in Wellington with my daughter and her family. While i am very happy with my situation it would be nice for us all to have a break from each other from time to time, and i believe this experience would work really well for me. While in New Zealand I have house sat for friends and been recommended to further friends of theirs.i have had animals all my life and love their company. I walk a lot to stay fit and there is nothing better than a dog at the end of the lead when walking. I ran my own business for 42years employing 22 staff at one stage before coming to NZ which i would hope would suggest to anyone that doesn’t know me that I am a very capable, independent and above all trustworthy human being

Hi! I’m Gertrude, but my friends call me Trudie. At 41 years young, I’m living my best single and child free life. My career has spanned various areas across the health sector. Most of my friends would describe me as a tidy, chatty, world traveler and super organised. When I’m not traveling, I like going to gigs, trying new foods, knitting, and going to films. I’ve lived in Wellington for a long time and popped in and out of Auckland for work. I would like to explore other areas while deciding to purchase a new home. In the past I’ve cared for cats and dogs (small and medium sized) in the States, Hamilton, Auckland, and Blenheim— and house sat for friends in Wellington to key an eye on their properties. I usually work from home and would spend most of the day with your fur baby.

Myself and my partner were both born in England, but are now residents of NZ having lived in Auckland for the last 5 years. We have both grown up with dogs and cats so have lots of experience in looking after them and giving them the attention and care they need. We are heading back to the UK for a while soon so are currently not working so would be around full time to keep your pets company. We are both very house proud and tidy so we would take care of your home the same way we would expect ours to be looked after. I cant promise your pets won't be spoiled.... but i can promise they will be given a lot attention and very well looked after whilst you're away so you won't have to worry :)

Hi! We're Danielle and Eamonn. We started house-sitting through family friends, and found that we loved it! We love getting to know different suburbs and different pets. Eamonn is a massive dog lover (but Danielle won't let him get one yet), so house-sitting satisfies his canine cravings. Danielle is the cat lover in the relationship, so between us, we've got pets covered! Our motto is to always leave a house-sit better than we found it. Whether it's your pet, your kitchen or your garden you most need looking after, we are proud to always leave it happier, cleaner or greener than when you left. We are really grateful for every house sit we attend and understand that it is your home - so if you have any specific requirements (which most people do), do let us know. Let us know if you have any questions or need more information - we are always happy to help. Danielle and Eamonn

Hello, We are a middle-aged married couple from England and New Zealand, and we love travelling, nature, and art. We are both writers, working in the tourism sector, and we met in beautiful Bali where we have been living since 1998 and 2006. We have travelled extensively in Indonesia, including trips to some of the country's remotest corners. We have been together for 15 years, we got married in New Zealand in 2021, and we are now living our dream dividing our time between Bali and New Zealand with a little bit of England and Europe thrown in along the way. We spend five months in Bali each year, one month in Europe and the UK, and six months in New Zealand from December to June. We invite guests to stay in our house in Bali and do home exchanges when we are in New Zealand and Europe, hence us looking for some more places to stay in New Zealand. We are both animal lovers, having rescued numerous cats and dogs off the streets in Bali over the many years that we have lived here. They all became much loved members of our respective households until our last cat and finally our last dog crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago. We miss them terribly but when we made the lifestyle change to divide our time between Bali and New Zealand, we made the decision not to get any more pets. However, our love and respect for animals has not diminished and that is why we look forward to looking after other people's pets. We both work from home so will be around nearly all day every day to give your animals all the love and attention they need. What you will get with us is two very caring, professional, respectful people who understand the need for absolute trust on both sides when looking after other people’s cherished homes and beloved pets. We have ample experience with having people staying in our home and us staying in theirs, so we understand and respect how all of this works and what is expected. Not only that, we are very friendly, easy to get on with and extremely low maintenance. Let us look after your home and your animals, and rest assured that everything will be in good hands. Regards, Michael & Rachel

Available Jan 23 - March 8, 2024. We are on an extended trip throughout NZ. Along the way, we would love to take care of your home and animals. We have a flexible timeline and a vehicle. ...a little about us. I am a NZ'er and a retired educator. Peter is canadian and a retired computer engineer. Our home base is on a small island in western Canada. We are homeowners and fully understand the housesitting social contract and responsibilities. We currently have trustworthy housesitters in our home while we are away. Peter and I, make a great housesitting team. I take the lead with the animal and home care, Peter supports me by playing with the pets and cuddle time. He also leads our dog walking explorations into nature. As our three children grew, our home was full of much loved animals. We had two family cats and two family dogs. Oliver, the cat was much loved in the neighbourhood. During the day he would sit by the gate, greet people, and beg for a pat. During the evening, when he was not snuggled up next to the dog, or swatting her tail, he would find a lap and stay there purring. He stayed in our family for 20 years. Lassie, a border collie/lab/husky cross is perhaps the most acclaimed of all our family pets. Our children still talk of her with great love. We adopted her when she was two years old. She 'heeled' with the click of a finger and kept guard over our children when they were young. She was the most amazing and lovable dog - her photo has an honoured place in our home. In the past, we have cared for cats, dogs, sheep, pigs, bees, chickens, ducks, fischers parrot, rabbits, and hamsters. The key in caring for pets is to have established expectations: food and exercise routines/cuddle times and ensure that animals have ample fresh water everyday. We love all animals and plants and can turn my hand to most tasks involved in caring for them. Also, I might add that I enjoy exploring regenerative agriculture concepts. I am a founding director of School Orchards Africa Society, in Tanzania. Having built our home and hobby farm, Peter is familiar with most house systems, on and off grid. He is a good guitar player. We are happy to zoom chat with you regarding your home and animals needs. WhatsApp works too. Kind regards, Linda

I recently rented out my home and moved in with family , and have been housesitting for friends, colleagues and other relatives and have been enjoying the flexibility of having a base but also being able to move about . I also enjoy looking after pets as having a pet at my current residence is not possible so it's nice to have pet responsibilities but not the commitment of a forever pet. I have some regular house sits that I do where I feel like part of the family. As well as dogs, cats ,chickens and small pets I also enjoy looking after children. I am a fulltime secondary teacher, I teach a range of different subjects from Drama, English , History and Geography. I'm reliable , honest, approachable, clean , pay attention to detail which i think makes me an ideal house & pet sitter. If a homeowner chooses me as a sitter they can expect to find their home as they left it, pets will be well looked after and feel safe and loved while you are gone, and your home treated respectfully.

Hi there, We are Adam and Eszter, a friendly couple in our late 30s. We are originally from Hungary, but have been living in New Zealand for more than 6 years. We are NZ citizens. I, Adam, grew up on a lifestyle farm on the countryside, where I had the chance of playing with and taking care of many types of animals mainly cats, dogs, chickens, ducks and pigs. We also often went around to check out the neighbors' sheep, cows and horses. I believe that my sensible personality makes me a good match to many kinds of animals. Also my family has long line of gardeners, and I also inherited a bit of the green thumb. My profession is IT engineer working at FoodStuffs 9-5 as a Data Insights Manager. As an engineer I also enjoy being the handyman around the house, and I like to get involved in DIY project in my free time. I, Eszter, am from a mid-size city of Hungary. My mother is from a small farm, where I had the pleasure of spending my childhood summers. I loved the various kinds of animals, cats, dogs, chicken and horses, and all the works around the house. I did spend most of my time outside which I enjoy doing to this day. I enjoy connecting with friendly animals, helping in the garden and around the house, and going on long walks in the nature. I am a dedicated yoga practitioner and a Senior IT Project Manager, working 9-5 on weekdays with the option of working from home. We are caring and responsible people who want to help out families like yours by looking after your pets and property while you are away, just as how we did for many others before. We are experienced pet sitters with several lovely stories to share, and happy to help you out with other activities around the house. Please feel free to get in touch with our references who will happily vouch for our character and skills by sharing their own personal experience with us. We would love to meet you and your pets and hope that you will consider us as your house sitters. Eszter and Adam Horvath

With more free time at our disposal house sitting becomes an attractive way to be useful to others as well as offering new experiences for us. We have travelled internationally as well as throughout most of New Zealand, and having lived long spells in Wellington, Auckland and now retired to Bay of Plenty. With family overseas, often our time away has been for up to 3 months, and on those occasions we have had friends and others staying at our home. We know what it is like to make your home available to others who you are familiar with but still have that small apprehension about whether it will be ok. We know how you are feeling making this commitment. We have been long term dog and cat owners, and currently regularly play house parents to a friend's dog. Walking and appropriate exercise is not a problem. Other friends also call on us to house sit and mind their precious moggy, often for longer periods. Golf is a sport that we both enjoy, so the opportunity to play other courses is an added appeal for house sitting. Choosing us to look after your house and pets will give maximum assurance that all will be well cared for, and treated as if they were our own. Go on your holiday and relax and enjoy in the knowledge that everything at home is being well cared for.

Hi my name is Sebastian. I am 33 years old, I am Argentine. I am a landscape gardener. I am in Auckland City working for Landscaping company. I love animals. I have lived with dogs and cats throughout my life. I came to New Zealand with my partner Josela. She is a singer and sociologist. Our routine allows someone to always be home We have a work visa for three years in New Zealand. We are a very calm couple, we love to live in a clean and tidy space. She also loves animals. We really have a very special connection with dogs and cats. While we are traveling and living away from home, we miss being in touch with these friends very much. You can be sure that the house will look wonderful while you are gone. As a gardener, I love to help make the Garden look nice if you need it and I have all the necessary tools to do it. And Josela is a lover of order at home. Together we make a very good team for the care of your animals and home. Your pets will be super well cared for, we love to go for a walk and we will be happy to take them with us if necessary.

Hello! My name is Sarah and I am a 42 year old woman who has been going through cancer treatment this year, thankfully with a positive outcome. I have worked in Education as either and English teacher, a relief teacher and/or tutor for 16 years, and started studying towards becoming a counsellor in 2022. I also have a nearly 21 year old daughter who I raised as a solo mum. I am intending to housesit as I move forward from a challenging year, hopefully to have enjoyable experiences in new places and step outside my comfort zone, and I also hope to save money for travel and for the future. I have had pets since I was a child. We always had cats in our family which have included a girl called cuddles one of her kittens, Garfield, as sweet girl called patch who was white with a couple of black patches and a black tail, and two girls, Mocca, and Cino, the latter who has been my my comfort and support while going through cancer treatment. My daughter and I also had our own cat who found us, who was the biggest smooch, I have known who I miss terribly. My family, growing up also had a golden retriever called, Zoe, and a budgie called Moses, and my daughter and I also had our own budgie called Mika, and we had a couple of fish called Bubbles and Scales when my daughter was younger. Hopefully, this gives you an idea that I have plenty of experiences looking after pets! I have had one experience of housesitting, which was early this year, looking after two male labradoodle puppies, and two cats while the family were overseas for three weeks. There was an issue with the puppies, which I resolved and the couple were thankful for how things were handled. I looked after their greenhouse during this period which required a lot of care. I see being able to live in and look after someone's home as privilege and would endeavour to care for the property how I would wish someone to look after my own. I think a discussion about expectations of what is important to the family is in an important part of that, so that if there are any particular needs or concerns that is clear from the beginning, especially if pets are being looked after. Pets are part of the family, so I would treat them with the love and care they deserve, just like I would with my own.

Hello, (*Currently available for Easter.) My name is Leigh, and I am a seasoned full-time house and pet sitter with two years of professional experience under my belt. My devotion to providing exceptional service is rooted in my deep understanding and love for animals. As a former homeowner, including a lifestyle property in Havelock North, Hawkes Bay, I understand the significance of entrusting someone with your home and beloved pets. I consider this a professional responsibility and strive to not only meet but exceed your expectations. I have just finished a year-long service to a family with a dog and two cats, and am currently booked through till February 7. My flexible work schedule as a remote news editor allows me to provide the right balance of independence and attentive daily care your pets may require. I am experienced in managing pets with varying needs, from those who value their alone time to those who crave constant affection and care. My history with animals is extensive and spans from my childhood. As an adult, I've had the privilege of sharing my life with a variety of dogs and cats, each with their own unique personalities. My vast experience with pets, from my first tadpoles at age 3 to my time as the editor of Dogs Life Magazine in Australia, has given me a profound understanding of their care and well-being. My keen eye for detecting any irregularities in pets' health has earned me the trust of friends and neighbours who frequently seek my advice. I am confident in my ability to discern when a pet may need medical attention. In addition to my keen sense of pet health, I own a homeopathic range for animals and am proficient in raw feeding. I have also previously owned The Dogs Body grooming parlour in Dunedin, where I handled dogs of all sizes, as well as cats and rabbits. My love for animals extends beyond household pets. I've taken care of a wide variety of creatures, from guinea pigs to goats, and from pigeons to sheep. As an equestrian, I am also comfortable with horses and other stock animals. My professional background includes senior roles in the financial and funding/sponsorship sectors, as well as managerial roles in social development initiatives. These experiences have honed my reliability, responsibility, and practicality. As a non-smoker who values cleanliness, I guarantee that your home will be well taken care of. I am also comfortable with most gardening tasks. I am open to medium to long-term house-sitting positions and look forward to the opportunity to provide excellent care for your home and pets. Thank you for considering my profile, and please feel free to reach out with any further questions. Best Regards, Leigh

I am a single/separated 46yo professional (Senior Management) that enjoy travelling and experiencing new towns/cities and cultures. I've been house sitting for a colleague for the last 5 months and decided I love the lifestyle, and with the work flexibility I have, I want to make the most of it as long as possible and save up for a big overseas trip. I love animals and connect easily with them. I grew up with and cared for a variety of animals (farm + domestic). Also open to look after animals I haven't dealt with previously. I am healthy, fitness oriented and neat, and do my best to keep my surrounding environment the same. As a house sitter, you can expect your animals, house and its contents to be treated with respect and kept neat and tidy.

Hi! We are a couple in our thirties from Wellington. I’m a health researcher and Adam is an architect. We have just returned to New Zealand after a period of long term travel. During our trip we spent around 2 months house sitting in France and the Netherlands, which we really enjoyed. We are passionate about animals, having both lived with pets and other animals the majority of our lives. I grew up with many pets, including guinea pigs, rabbits, fish and dogs. Adam grew up on a farm surrounded by a range of animals including cows, sheep, chickens, dogs and cats. Together, we spent last year (before our trip away) caring for a young cairn terrier who we adored and still keep in contact with. We are respectful and responsible and will take care of your home and loved ones as if they were our own. I am working 32 hours per week and Adam can work from home so we will have lots of time available to spend with your pets. We are excited for future house sitting opportunities and look forward to meeting you!

I have lived and worked in and around quality lifestyle and understand keeping a respectable and tidy home. I have house sat for a few friends both in the city and rural settings and I am adaptable to both. hopefully I can give homeowners peace of mind whilst away from their home and pets.,

Rennie and I met when travelling overseas in the late 60's and have lived in Auckland since 1976, always in the central Auckland. Both of us are born and bred NZ ers, Rennie is from Wellington and I Auckland, which makes for interesting sports watching on occasions. 10 years ago we sold our family home after 31 years and now live in an apartment in the same area. Even more recently we sold our share in a co owned bach which we had for 36 years, this was a deliberate move to allow us more flexibility to travel around NZ. We are so used to sharing and being respectful to others in that shared space we thought house sitting and caring for other's treasured pets would be a great way to see our country. We have been retired now for several years but previously I was a registered nurse and Rennie a journalist. We both keep fit and active and enjoy walking. Mostly I keep busy with volunteer work and Rennie a great reader and avid newsman. Prior to our apartment life, which we love, we have always had pets in our family, cats and dogs. Our very first animal was a cat called Ola, she was a dear fluffy puss cat who's favorite trick was to bring us presents of squirming mice. She looked at us as if we were mad when we returned them to the garden. From Ola we had a series of cats all named by our son, we have had Sally, George (who was discovered to be Georgina when being spayed), Loverly and Pokey. The later two arrived very close together and Loverly adored Pokey who became pregnant while booked in to be spayed. She was still a kitten herself and when her babies were born Loverly took over the nurturing role and would marshall Pokey at feeding times. We lost Loverly early when she was run over. Wonderfully Pokey lived until she was 20. When we lost Loverly we became dog owners, our first a miniature schnauzer called Pebbles who sadly died from, the vet believed, of a congenital heart condition at 5. After Pebbles we got Slick from the SPCA, he was a good boy and we all loved him for the 14 years we had him. We miss them now.

Hi There, We love looking after pets of all shapes & sizes and have been doing so house sitting full time since February 2018. Having grown up in both urban & rural environments we are constantly asked to look after peoples pets & homes and if it wasn't for the need for us to relocate up to Auckland we would certainly be settled with some pets of our own. We moved up to Auckland to pursue some career opportunities which came up somewhat out of the blue and hence we have decided to make the move with only our suitcases to our name and house sitting enables us to save some money on rent and have fun looking after some wonderful animals. We have been together for over 10 years, originally from being swept up in the Rugby World Cup spirit in 2011, before following the All Blacks to England & Japan in 2015 / 2019, and we now have our eyes set on heading to France in the 2023 Rugby World Cup - hence our need to save our pennies! My girlfriend is obsessed with cats plus loves playing with dogs and I myself one day dream of owning a Dachshund once we end up in a more permanent home - which doesn't sound like it will be anytime soon as we have a move to Wellington on the cards in April 2022 (for work) and are currently looking for opportunities to continue house sitting there. We look forward to meeting you and your pets and hope that you will consider us as your house sitters. Many Thanks, Elliot & Sam

Hi there, I first started house sitting 20 years ago and have enjoyed minding some beautiful homes in a variety of locations in NZ and Australia. I'm happy to provide references for my most recent sits, as listed. I'm a reliable, clean, tidy person with the utmost integrity and respect for your property. I have looked after with care; houseplants, grounds, dogs and cats. So your beloved pet will get plenty of attention, should they be in need of pet sitting. I'm retired now. My work history included Pharmacy Assistant, Administrator, Cruise Boat attendant. I have no children but two sisters with children and grandchildren whom I love to spoil. My interests include exercise in general, walking, pool, gym etc, maintaining a healthy lifestyle/diet. I enjoy good food, good company, cafes and movies. Quality time with friends and family are always a priority. I also enjoy the quiet life and enjoy my own company. Thanks for reading my profile and I hope to hear from you soon. Kind regards Pam

I'm a 71 year old, healthy and fit woman who loves animals and exploring our great country. I've retired now and house sitting would suit me well. I volunteer in the community and spend quite a bit of time walking, cycling, swimming and enjoying yoga. I have my own home which is easy care. I house sat for 2 years 2000-2002 minding cats and dogs and keeping the owners house up to scratch. I was often recalled when the home owners were away. I'm honest, trustworthy and reliable. I held a responsible position for 21 years as PA to a high profile NZ'er until retiring in 2021. I've travelled extensively over the years - lived in the UK for the usual two year OE in my twenties, then was seconded to Singapore for a further two years in 1998. During Covid we were limited to local travel which ticked a lot of boxes and have some very happy memories of travels round NZ, particularly the South Island. I usually like to get overseas 2-3 times a year.

My name is Andrea, and I am moving to Wellington with my husband Paul. We have lived in Hawkes Bay for 25 years and raised our 3 children there. Now they have all left home and Paul has found a new job in Wellington. He is a lawyer working for the government, and I am a nurse. We have sold our house and would love the chance to house-sit so that we can get to know Wellington and decide where we want to live. We love animals and unfortunately have to leave our labradoodle Bluebell and our cat Margeaux behind in Hawkes Bay with friends while we find our feet in Wellington. We are tidy, conscientious, honest, and responsible people who will care for your home and your pets the very best we can. In between looking at properties I will be able to spend lots of time with your animals .

We both are responsible and enthusiastic animal lovers. We are clean freaks (in the best way) and enjoy an active lifestyle. We are proud homeowners who love to travel. Mitch is training to join the police force and would like a buddy to join him on his runs. He grew up on a farm and has extensive experience with all sorts of animals (big & small, healthy & disabled, tame & wild). Kate is a bookworm that needs someone to keep her company while she gets lost in her next big read. Hailing from Namibia, this is her fifth country of residence in her 26 years. She grew up petting cheetahs and lived to tell the tale. We both work from home at least twice a week (Mitch can work remotely whenever he wants, Kate is not so lucky). We are both looking for animals to love while their parents are adventuring around the world (or in their backyard, we aren't picky).

Hi, I am Nathan. I am in my early fifties and I have owned my own home most of my adult life. During that time I have cared for many pets including dogs(German Shephered and 2x Cavoodles, several cats, birds, fish, rabbits and mice). I love animals. I owned and lived on a lifestyle property (10 acres) for several years and am familiar with providing basic care for cattle, sheep, pigs, goats and chooks. I work fulltime remotely as a software developer and have the ability to work from anywhere that there is a reliable internet connection so am available to sit pretty much anywhere in NZ. This also means that I am able to be at home during the day and can give your pets plenty of attention all day long. I would enjoy the opportunity to chat with you about your requirements and meet your furbabies. Nathan

Im Olivia stay at home mum to Levi 4 over summer and hazel is 2 years. I am respectful of others homes, responsible considerate of any animals i care for. I have experience in home pet sitting, ran my own dog walking business and studying veterinary nursing prior to children. Now i have chosen to be a stay at home mum with casual gardening work and a market stall holder with a small business. With my Vet nursing training i did 160 hours experience in clinics. I learnt about first aid, surgery and administerimg medical care. Before this i completed my NZ Animal care certificate which included practical hours in Catterys and kennels. Before kids i was also working at Animates as a keyholder responsible to do the animal adoptions, banking and close the store. I learnt about behavioral training, food nutrition, medications and health product training. I provided husbandy care to the resident kittens, rabbits, mice, rats and hand fed turtles. I know about nutrition for reptiles but no real experience. We have a 9 year old cat Cosmo who sleeps and plays with the kids. We have had 2 free range chickens and a neighbour's horse we fed. My boy loved it and loves sheep and birds having owned a parakeet, Alexandrine. He would go traveling with us on his perch between chairs and play boo with you. We had to remove him because of jealous arising from new baby and I couldn't give him one on one attention, nor a large busy interactive family. He now has a baby lorikeet to care for and we are so happy. My cat was hit by a car years ago surviving just with 8 weeks recovery and me helping with this nursing care. I'm use to giving medications and maintaining diets. We have often stayed at book a Bach places with kids younh and a family friends bach. I have been with my partner Paul for nearly 9 years, owning land twice and hope to own a lifestyle block for life. We currently live on a sheep farm in a shepards house surrounded by sheep over the fence. It will just be Olivia and the 2 kids for housesitting when we visit family. We are based in rural rangitikei. We have family in the Kapiti Coast and Hawkes bay. Last summer i did pet sitting for nearly 2 weeks for a cat and turtle. We will care for your home like it's ours and appreciate the opportunity to give our time and care to your animals. Whilst we receive in this exchange a nice home to stay in when we travel. We will be there every evening and for feeding. Out during the day with family over Christmas but will be there morning and night for attention and affection of your furry loved being/s.

Hi, My partner and I are responsible people who have done a lot of traveling. We understand the importance of trust when it comes to house sitting, this is because we are homeowners ourselves and business owners. We have joined house sitters to make it possible for us to travel to different regions more. I also grew up on a farm and my family ran SPCA for our region, as well as operating our Cattery. I also have a lot of other experience with animals. We look forward to chatting with you about house sitting at your place!

My name is Brett and I started housesitting for family/friends about 5 years ago. It was to mainly look after pets while they were away. I have now housesit more times than I can remember ranging from 4 nights to 6 weeks. I like to personally meet all my housesitting clients before we agree to a housesitting arrangement so you get to know me and I get to meet the animals. I work as a Commercial Manager. I can work from home in between client meetings. I am currently boarding with my parents in between housesitting as I’m saving to buy my own lifestyle property where I plan to start my own family of animals. I have mainly looked after cats, dogs, chickens, cows (heifers and steers), and horses. I love animals and originally I studied Vet Science before I moved into Banking. I treat each place as if it was my own and the feedback I get is the pets are happy on the owners return and their house has never been cleaner. I can’t wait to meet you and help out with housesitting! Brett

I am a caring, bubbly person who loves to explore and travel. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Applied Management (Human Resources Major). I am hoping upon achieving this degree it will give me the tools to address the 'gap' of the relationship linked between people and culture in the workplace when I graduate. All my study is distance learning, so it can be done from anywhere in New Zealand (With an internet connection). I grew up in the Waikato and Auckland regions respectively, I am currently a Christchurch Local and have been for the past 12 years I am very fond of the Marlborough area as well, I have had some great holidays spent there and many fishing trips! Even though I currently am not a pet owner (As I am committed to my degree, it's not the right time to commit to a pet) I have tonnes of experience taking care of animals as I grew up in a rural community with many animals around. I think house sitting will give me the freedom to explore lots of new surroundings and travel of course! whilst I continue my studies. I love all animals and thought that when I grew up I wanted to become a vet! So your animals are in safe hands! I will treat them as if they were my own. I love plants as well! I will take extra special care of any plant life you may have in your home. In fact in my home in christchurch I have 33 houseplants to be precise! If you choose me to house sit for you, I will be respectful and caring to your pets and home. I look forward to meeting new people and learning about their travels. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know your lovely fur babies!

Having lived overseas and run companies for many years, I am extremely reliable and professional. An animal lover having a Dogue de Bordeaux who is still living overseas with family. My children are boarding at Kings and St Cuthbert’s so frequent visits to Auckland are in the diary for myself and Housesitting would be mutually beneficial for both myself and homeowners. Since childhood I have had extensive experience caring for animals, having owned dogs, rabbits, a cat and enjoyed horseriding. I am also the first to take in anyones pets who are going away, including dogs, kittens/cats, guinea pigs, and fish. Owning my own homes over the years I take pride and care of my properties and others, and throughly enjoy the company of animals and believe they need consistency in their own homes and to be absolutely adored whilst their families are away.

Hello, I'm Michael, a versatile individual driven by a desire to explore new horizons and make a positive impact. As a civil engineer, kung fu enthusiast, and dedicated youth mentor, I am constantly seeking opportunities to expand my experiences and contribute to the community around me. The idea of house sitting has captured my interest as a way to immerse myself in diverse environments while providing a valuable service to homeowners in need. My motivation for pursuing housesitting stems from my natural curiosity and passion for building connections. Housesitting offers the perfect blend of adventure and responsibility, allowing me to care for different homes and pets while enjoying new surroundings. Through this endeavour, I aim to foster a sense of trust, integrity, honesty and friendship with homeowners, providing them the peace of mind they deserve when entrusting their abode and beloved pets to my care. Although my experience in housesitting is limited, my track record as a responsible and dependable individual speaks for itself. I like working and living in a clean and tidy space around me and take care to ensure that I always treat others property with the respect that I do my own. Additionally, my work experience and involvement in youth mentoring has honed my communication skills and taught me the importance of reliability, qualities that are crucial in maintaining open and transparent communication with homeowners. Growing up surrounded by cats, I am well-versed in feline care, understanding the nuances of their behaviour and needs. While my experience with dogs is limited, my enthusiasm and quick adaptability ensure that I'm more than willing to learn and provide exceptional care. As a house sitter, homeowners can expect nothing short of the utmost dedication from me. I understand that your home is not only a place of comfort but also a sanctuary of cherished memories. I look forward to hearing from you.

I'm a trustworthy, mature, single woman, currently working remotely as a support worker for Victim Support based at Manukau Police Station. I have undergone police vetting to be able to complete this work so you can rest assured your home, pets and all personal belongings will be well looked after and respected. I am a farm girl at heart so not afraid of anything more than the care of usual domestic animals. I have some 30+ years experience with dog and cat care as a pet owner myself, and in a previous life maintained a healthy tropical fish aquarium. I am happy to incorporate doggy walks etc as part of my own fitness activities (usually a morning or evening walk) or provide animal care more specific to your pet needs. House and pet sitting have been a way to create win-win situations for both parties and has also helped me to manage work/life balance better while studying extramurally towards a masters degree over the past few months. I am flexible in terms of location and ok to travel providing the sit duration makes relocating worthwhile. I have a preference for North Island based sits but will consider a South Island sit if you are ok for me to use your vehicle (to do local grocery shopping) for the duration of the sit. I have completed most of my house and pet sits either privately or via the Kiwihousesitters website (more references are available via Kiwihousesitters website). Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. Hopefully I'll get to meet you and your pets soon :)

I am a mature, respectful, trustworthy woman who loves animals and knows what a privilege it is to be given the responsibility of looking after others homes and precious animals. Also recently NZ Police vetted (November 2022). I'm semi-retired and looking for mostly school holiday sits and available for some weekends. I have my dream job working part time 4 mornings Monday-Thursday, helping women build confidence for the next steps in their lives. I've hired many holiday houses over the years, I'm not a hotel type person, and really enjoy house sitting where I can take care of your home and animals. I have my own dog who will stay at home while I look after yours, take care of friends dogs when they go away and vice versa. I'm also No 1 cat sitter for the neighbours. Massive dog rescuer as well - just ask my friends, they groan at every new story of me finding a stray dog and getting it home safely. I love dogs and cats equally, and when I am asked which I prefer I say both. I have my own dog, the second in my life, and have owned cats until 10 years ago. I adopted Kato (bichon poodle x) when he was 3 and he had fear based issues after what appears to be a difficult first few years. It took a couple of years to make him aware he was safe and just on the planet to have a good time. Now he is a happy little guy who loves to walk, chase balls and hang out with his favourite humans, my 90 year old mother being one of them - having bitten her the first time they met over 5 years ago, they now have a very special bond. They even share the same birthday. I lived in Auckland for 20 years and love the Coromandel and Northland. I spent a lot of time in the Coromandel over summers, in a tent, holiday houses, staying at friends and travelling in motorhomes. Living in Christchurch I don't get much of any opportunity to get back there and I miss the beautiful weather and lush tropical geography. I love to walk, bike, explore, read, cook, love art house movies and documentaries, galleries, being near or in water and am very happy with my own company.

I'm Asha, I'm 21 on an a working holiday visa from Scotland! I'm travelling around the country on my own and looking for more options for living as i've been living in hostels for about 7 months now. I grew up with cats so have been around them my whole life and am definitely the most comfortable looking after them. I also have a diploma in zoology so alongside personal experience with pets I have a well rounded background in biology and animal psychology. I love to cook and I'll always keep your home clean and tidy. I'd be keen to meet or have a chat before accepting any positions just to make sure we're a good match!

As a married couple with a shared love for animals and travel, house-sitting brings together two of our favourite things. Academically inclined, Xiaotong is a remote PhD student exploring New Zealand music history from our home base in Marlborough. Her schedule allows for flexibility, perfectly lending itself to house-sitting. Tas is a piano and music theory tutor. He runs his business primarily online. Our affection for animals is an important part of our lives. Both raised in families that harboured and loved various animals, our experiences span across living with cats, dogs, birds and even small creatures like fish and mice. During house-sitting, our number one priority will be to create a safe, peaceful, comfortable, and caring environment for the animals. We lead a quiet lifestyle, preferring the company of books and music over parties. We don't drink or smoke, and we are very tidy. Given our respective professions, there may be times when Tas may join the sitting for a few days, but primarily, the responsibilities would be undertaken by Xiaotong. Thank you for your consideration.

My 23-year-old daughter Charlotte is doing her Honours degree at Massey in Wellington, my 13-year-old Thomas is in year 9 and is a keen swimmer and rower and my 12-year-old Archie is in year 9 and is also a swimmer and into theatre in Christchurch. My husband works full-time, and we have a Border Collie called Dusty and a little black cat called Missy. I have been working in the entertainment industry for over 30 years and I often travel whether as Guest Entertainer on cruise ships or writing and producing my own shows, more recently I toured my Carole King show 'A Natural Woman' around NZ. I am also a yoga teacher and a singing coach. I like to be busy :-) I am coming to Wellington for 6 weeks to do my new show at Circa Theatre, and I am looking for accommodation. Being away for this length of time I would really like to live in a home rather than a hotel and if there are animals to care for all the better. My hours will be in the evening with rehearsals from 10th Jan until 18th Jan and opening the show from 19th January until 18th February. I am happy to move around a little if there is a house-sit for just part of this time and can either be central or more up the coast. I lived in Wellington for 18 years so know the city well. Please feel free to ring me if you would like to know more about me. Warmest, Ali

We love exploring different areas. We are experienced housesitters and will look after your home and pets as if they were our own with care and respect. We can cope with the unexpected. Over the years we have had dogs of our own and looked after other peoples’ labradors, retrievers, Jack Russells, collies, Alsatian, mixed breeds and rescue dogs. I loved it when our Jack Russell had pups. We have always had cats too. Though mainly our daughter was the cats’ best friend. Hamsters, Guinea pigs, rabbits, fish have all been part of the household at various times and once a rosella for a few weeks. For 30 years I have had one or two ponies or horses until my Connemara died in 2018. Sometimes I still ride but mainly I miss caring for horses. As we have had land in the past we’ve had various livestock, horses, cattle, sheep and are comfortable handling them. We have looked after other peoples’ hens and still say we will get some when we don’t go away so much. In the meantime we are often visited by our neighbours’ two hens making a getaway. My husband is a fixer, landscaper and creative worker with wood and natural materials. He is a keen caretaker of New Zealand’s natural environment. He is an avid reader and perceptive, humorous writer. I am still working as a psychologist mainly by Zoom one day a week. I enjoy the flexibility of being nearly retired and having time to play the guitar and dabble in the garden and with various art projects. In amongst this we enjoy time with our three daughters, their families and children and are looking forward to a new addition. We look forward to meeting you and your pets very soon.

Hello, I’m Kate; here is a little about me. I am a Teacher and have had the good fortune to have been able to travel the world with my career. I’m originally from Nelson. During the last 25 years, I have lived and worked in London, Bangkok, HCMC, Shanghai, and Beijing. It has all been an exciting adventure. While living and working in Vietnam and China, I looked after friends’ pups and then went on to foster many dogs. I found a tiny puppy on the street in Shanghai. He lived with me for three years and turned out to be a big dog. His name is Paddy. Sadly, I could not bring him back to New Zealand with me. I found him a great and loving home and have regular contact with his 2nd Mummy. I will always be 1st Mummy. I am sure you will understand how heartbreaking it was separating from him. I am currently living in Auckland and am keen to see more of NZ particularly the South Island. I am available for house sits all over NZ during the school holidays. During the last two years I have been pet and house sitting regularly. I love dogs and cats. I am a keen walker and love finding new places to walk. The only thing that is missing is a furry freind. I am clean and tidy and enjoy healthy living. I am a non-smoker.

We are a couple who have had many moves over the years due to family commitments. We do not own our own home, but we love seeing different parts of the country. We are animal lovers and love to relax, read and roam a little. We have three adult daughters, one granddaughter and just love the fresh air, fossicking for unusual stones on beaches and river beds. We have house sat many times and caring for pets is just another enjoyable facet of housesitting. We are reliable, responsible and considerate towards the home and homeowners.

Howdy, My name is Fanchi, and it's a pleasure to meet you! I recently relocated to New Zealand to teach at Victoria University and I'm enjoying my new life here. However, leaving my two dogs back in Budapest, Hungary has been tough for me. Although my family and friends are taking excellent care of them, I miss them dearly. Before moving to New Zealand, I completed a two-year guide dog training program as a hobby. My Labrador pup, Roze, is now with her final owner - a kind blind lady with three children. Our family has raised five dogs and we always organized our lives around them. In addition, we have been fortunate enough to have kept bunnies, ducklings, and several exotic pets as companions, and we took great pleasure in caring for them. When it comes to four-legged friends, I adore hiking in the Wellington area and would be thrilled to have your dog accompany me. I work from home or the VUW Te Aro campus and am only away for four hours on office days. I have stayed in two Airbnb locations in Lyall Bay and Hataitai Beach since my arrival, and I will soon receive my first house-sitting reference. If you prefer, my previous landlords are available for reference. (ps. previous reviews are for my excellent ex-partner Joel, he moved back to Hungary recently) I would be thrilled to care for your dog and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Have a great day! Best regards, Fanchi

Hello, we introduce ourselves, we are a couple, we have been together for six years, I am a preschool teacher and my partner is an electronic technician. We like to drink with friends on beaches and squares, we have a dog named Diana, she couldn't accompany us on this trip. We like animals and spending time with them, I had experience as a dog walker and on weekends some stayed with me while families vacationed and I loved that. We are a stable couple, responsible and very careful, I am a teacher, with experience.

Hey there, I am very much hoping that you choose me to house sit your home, i am responsible, reliable, clean, trustworthy and very respectful. I am a home bodied sort of person and enjoy reading, drawing, watching docos and cooking good food in my down time. I am a chef by trade but am currently working as a gardener/ landscaper as well as a few art projects on the side, so if your garden needs tending to I'll be more than happy to help. I absolutely love all animals and grew up having a few cats and dogs. I have house sat for people in the past but have never used this website to do so. If you choose me you can expect your furry friend (s) to be showered and bathed in love, cuddles and good times. ( if you have pets of cause) otherwise, you can expect your home to be completely and utterly respected and cherished and left in the exact order you left it in. I have just returned home after a year or so travelling overseas and am just looking for my options in terms of accommodation. I heard about this website and thought I'd give it a go. I look forward to hearing from you soon, take care and many thanks. Gemma :)

Hi! My name is Sara, I'm 31 years old and from France. I'm a community support worker with people with disability and also a teacher reliever. I've been living in Wellington for almost five years now and I'd like to be house free for at least February 2024 and this is how I get to be on this website :) I already have two experiences of house sitting which went really well and I would love to do it again! I was living with a cat and the experience was great. I'm open to cats and dogs, which I have experience with but I never did it with fish, birds or reptiles but I'm definitely open to it if the opportunity comes :)

Kia ora, I am a mature (61years old) professional women with a background in Design, Art, Film, Tertiary Teaching and Landscape Architecture. I currently teach online from home. I have been living between Auckland and Hamilton - near family. I am hoping to resettle in the Wellington area, having lived there on and off since 1981, and I still love it. I spent much of my childhood in Hamilton, although I am originally from Nelson. Over the years I have loved and cared for many pets including cats, dogs, birds, poultry and fish. I have been lucky enough to live and work in many places including Europe, China and Australia and this has enabled me to experience and appreciate many different cultures. I am responsible, neat and clean and prefer a quiet low key life style. I like to keep fit and healthy and walk or run daily. I love animals and would look after your pets, home and garden with great care and respect. I am an experienced house sitter and pet minder, I also spent a year house sitting while in Melbourne. Best wishes, Lyn

I recently sold my own home and planning to travel later this year, so I would like to housesit in the meantime. I am quiet and responsible and clean, and very respectful of people's property. I have been housesitting for a few months, and getting great feedback. I have always loved all animals and take good care of them. I have been looking after cats, dogs, chickens, guinea pigs and sheep! I would be always contactable, respectful of all instructions, pleasant and responsive, and clean and tidy. I am happy to look after plants and do gardening too as required. My background is working for private and public sectors as an economist for many years and then became a landlord of my own rental property and doing contract office-based work from home. I still do some of this, but fewer hours. I work almost entirely from home. I do a lot of reading and researching with very flexible hours. My hopes are for a secure, pleasant environment and I love the company of animals.

Hello, We are Christine & David Eyre a couple of expat poms now well and truly settled in God’s own South Island 20 years ago, with children and grandchildren in both hemispheres. Currently no pets as we enjoy the freedom but we have lots of experience having previously owned dogs, cats, fish, rabbits, hamster’s mice and even an elderly tortoise. You will find us a reliable, caring Christian couple, both currently working part time in the IT and Health professions. Christine and I enjoy travel, walking, cycling and swimming, but also can spend time with a good book or two; practical and quite handy in the garden we had a pool in our last home. Having brought up three children we now have a wee bit of freedom to travel, although we enjoy our beautiful home in Tahunanui we would love the opportunity to care for your home and pets in your community and explore further our beautiful country. We are a newly married couple who both have had past housesitting experience as well as pet care experience, having looked after a variety of pets from, dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish and a turtle. Both of us have an affinity towards dogs, but would lovingly look after any pets who need cuddles in your absence. Jacob works full-time as a builder and Ebony studies part-time through Massey University and works part-time. Ebony often studies from home in the mornings and works in the afternoons, which means she would be home for a good portion of the day to ensure your pets have plenty of company. We are both mature and reliable individuals, and as sitters you can expect good communications, pet lovers who will follow your instructions, oodles of cuddles for your pets and a tidy well kept home for you to return to. We look forward to meeting you and your pets very soon. Warm regards Ebony & Jacob

Kia ora, my name is Diane. Born and bred in the Wairarapa I grew up at Mt Bruce at the local schoolhouse with 3 siblings, 2 cats, many chooks and a flock of 26 sheep. After a working life encompassing fashion, real estate, building industry and law, ten years ago I followed my passion and became a kindergarten teacher. I work part-time as a relief teacher so have the autonomy to pick and choose jobs. I also clean the local sports club so, rest assured, your house will be spotless upon your return. My interests include squash, 10 pin bowling, reading and crossword puzzles. Two major accomplishments in my life are becoming a Mother - my "baby" is now 24 and lives in Wellington - and sailing the South Pacific for a year on an 11 mt yacht, despite sea sickness! After renting the same house in Lansdowne since 2007, it's time to move on as the owner has sold up. So a prime opportunity to save money while helping out other families. I'm honest, reliable and highly organised so your home and pets will be cared for with love and integrity.

Kia Ora, We are a couple in our thirties who are settling in to New Zealand from abroad (Aimee from Australia, Tetteh from the US). We met in London 6 years ago, and are very much enjoying living in beautiful Aotearoa. We are enjoying house sitting as we love the opportunity to see different parts of the country, love animals, and have flexibility given we largely work from home. We are both working professionals - Aimee is a Social Worker having spent the last 13 years working in the criminal justice system, and Tetteh is a Forensic Psychologist. Tetteh also has a education background and has previously worked as a University Lecturer in Forensic Psychology, however is also a qualified Psychologist. He is currently contracting to organisations doing training and facilitation, one on one therapy, and group therapy for those with substance use issues. Aimee also works from home and contracts to Ministry of Justice completing court reports for criminal courts, as well as doing training and facilitation and restorative practice with tertiary institutions and organisations. We both largely work from home, however do have face to face meetings or workshops in town a few times per week. We both come from homes where we have adored our pets. Aimee grew up with cats, and has a family cat named Sunny who is the family princess and adored by everyone. Tetteh is a HUGE animal lover, and takes up every opportunity to spend time with family and friends who have animals (particularly dogs!). We are both very responsible people who do not smoke, are outgoing and trustworthy, and happy to ensure all steps are taken to ensure your animals and property are adequately cared for. If we are chosen as house sitters for your property, we can guarantee your home and animals will be in very safe and capable hands. We are both extremely approachable, pro-active and respectful individuals who understand the trust that goes into allowing others to stay in your property and care for your loved ones. We are very responsive and are happy to provide very regular updates on your home and animals, as well as to provide any reassurance that might be needed :) We are super happy to meet you - either in person or in Skype - to discuss any questions there might be, or any other info! Hope to speak with you soon, Aimee and Tetteh

Hi there, We are a professional couple (both Deputy Principals) with 2 young children (8yrs and 5yrs). We are active, love the outdoors and love animals. We are happy to look after any pets. Our youngest child is very gentle with pets, as is our eldest who is very used to animals. She likes to help us feed, wash and take care of them, and where appropriate, take them for walks. Rochelle was bought up on a farm and is comfortable with livestock and farm dogs. We have had pets before, including 2 shih tzu dogs, which we bred from for a number of years, so are used to dogs of all ages. We are also equally comfortable looking after cats. We maintain a clean and tidy household and will respect any property that we are in. We will take great care of your home and love your pets like our own. We have had a number of house sits now and all of our reviews have been excellent. Kind Regards, Shane and Rochelle

Greetings, my name is Katie Breckon, and I am originally from Wellington but have lived in northwest Australia since 2012, returning home several times a year. After teaching at Wellington East Girls College for several years, I moved to Australia to gain experience in the community arts and education sector. I worked for a major Aboriginal Art and Culture Centre for seven years, establishing a remote collection and media space. I then co-curated the Mowanjum Museum, which opened in 2021. I have been teaching at Derby District High School since 2019 and have an art career. I own a 10-acre property at the bottom of the famous Gibb River Road with my partner of 16 years. The property is mostly bush with lots of curious wildlife. I have no pets because I travel so frequently, but I have cared for several rescue birds in association with Derby Wildlife Rescue. Although I did not pursue a career in Animal Nursing, it may be helpful to know that I did work in veterinary clinics in Upper Hutt and Taita in the late 90's while completing a two-year part-time vet nursing diploma. My life took a different direction (as it does), working for a humanitarian aid organisation in Europe and West Africa before establishing a career in arts and education. I do not own a property in New Zealand, so I regularly house-sit in the Wellington region. Recent house sits have been for family and friends in Island Bay, Evans Bay, Eastbourne and Wainuiomata. I periodically use Airbnb to rent entire apartments and have excellent reviews from New Zealand and Australian homeowners. I semi-regularly look after a British Blue cat - Teddy while house sitting my sisters house and cared for a British Bulldog while house sitting in Island Bay. In Derby I occasionally look after two energentic Australian Kelpies, Bonnie and Clyde, taking them for walks along the salt marsh. In general, at home and as a house sitter, I am a quiet person, creative and constantly working on some aspect of my Visual Art practice, whether it's administration, updating online content or preparing for a new exhibition. I have recently been awarded the Creative Connections Art Residency at the Caselberg Trust in Dunedin beginning mid 2024. I enjoy gardening, hiking, and mountain biking and am preparing to walk the Te Araroa track. You will find information online about my work in Australia and upcoming residency in Dunedin. You can find my CV on my website. I will upload two more recent referral letters over the coming week.

In my most recent housesits in New Zealand, I used my experience of growing up with animals and my pet-loving and caring nature to support owners to feel at ease whilst they were away on their holiday. I am a strong relationship builder and communicator and am able to quickly build rapport with you and your pets. I value building an encouraging, positive and friendly environment with everyone I meet. An example of this is when I recently housesat in Wellington and looked after several chickens. As I do not eat eggs, I quickly made friends with some neighbours by sharing them so they did not go to waste. Alfie the dog and I were soon invited along for evening walks and morning coffees. I always make sure to send you regular photos of your pets having fun and being cared for as I know you’ll be worrying about and missing them. With my years of staying in housesitting, houseshares and living in tiny homes, I pride myself on keeping a clean home. An example of this is organising myself with a weekly cleaning rota where I split the tasks up over the week to break down the tasks and keep on top. I am also a keen gardener, growing vegetables and flowers from seed to table and caring for a variety of cacti and houseplants. I am happy to keep on top of watering and garden maintenance for you as required. I am enthusiastic, committed and dynamic and my experience in international travel, housesitting, owning and caring for dogs, goats, cows, chickens, cats and bees have gained me the skills and confidence to housesit for your beloved pets and home. Also, my skill in communication and building relationships with you, your pet and your close ones and my passion of keeping the homes I stay in clean will make sure you can relax on your holiday and return to happy pets and a a calm and clean home. I love to travel and have several hobbies including walking, cooking and sewing. I work in the health industry and after finishing my fixed term contract, I am taking some time off to travel and will be working in Wellington from June. I hope to get a part time role or a role that has some flexible working from home arrangements. I look forward to speaking with you and finding out more about your beloved pets and home. Best wishes, Millie

Hi, my name is Carolina, 37 years old, I am a NZ resident and currently living with my boyfriend Tomas who has just turned 41. I am an accountant and I am currently working in a software company. I play hockey and try to go to the gym at least 3 times a week to counteract the chocolate and ice cream I eat while watching Netflix (my absolutely favourite activity!!!). At least 3 or 4 times a week I work from home and I love my job as it gives me absolute flexibility with my schedule. I’ve also recently started my MBA in the University of Auckland so I am also spending quite some time studying and going through assignments. Tomas is an Industrial and Logistics Engineer studying for an Operations and Logistics postgraduate degree (Remotely - from a Chilean University). He is particularly fond of dogs since he is super active (of course he is not a smoker!) and he enjoys going for really long walks. He is training now for the Gold Coast marathon on the first days of July and aiming to finish it in less than 3 hours!! (overall he has done over 17 marathons!!) We live in Mission Bay, but it doesn't allow us to get any pets so we love the idea of housesitting as it gives us the opportunity to apply our fondness of animals and at the same time it gives us the possibility to try different neighbourhoods or areas until we decide where we could buy our house in the future! We have experience with different pets as we both had dogs and cats while growing up and we've also did some housesitting during our youth and recently through this website!! You can check our references as we had amazing experiences so far in different parts of New Zealand We are available upon request for further interviews, so please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!! We look forward to meeting you soon! Caro & Tomi

Hello I'm Maggie, an Auckland based music teacher, photojournalist and jazz musician with experience house sitting both in NZ and abroad. I have recently returned from New York where I released my latest album and am looking for short and longer term housesits while I build a place of my own on my section. A little about myself: I am a responsible and reliable house-sitter and have cared for homes and pets around Auckland, and New York so experienced. I am a non-smoker, very clean and respectful of the homes I look after. I appreciate I am staying in someone's home and not just a house and make sure that the place is exactly as you left it when you return. I love animals and will happily care for your pets while you are away. Happy to provide excellent references if needed.

We are a couple in our late 20s and early 30s living in Wellington. We love housesitting because it combines two of the things we both really love; travelling and pets. Due to our current migratory situation we do not have pets and house sitting is a way we can enjoy the company of animals and explore new suburbs. We have both had dogs and cats in the past. Nachi has also volunteered with the SPCA where she looked after chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs amongst others. She also attended a farm school and has experience caring for farm animals. We believe that animals are part of the family and will go above and beyond to ensure they are well looked after and don't miss their human family too much while you are away. We have been housesitting since June 2021 and have become the biggest fans of it. We love being able to meet and spend time with many different fur-friends. Our days just wouldn't be fulfilled without some fur-company. We simply are animal people who love the opportunity to care for them while their family is away. We have excellent reviews from anther site that we use for house sitting and on AirBnB that we are really happy to share with you.

South Taranaki girl at heart, currently living in own home in the adventurous Manawatu. Spent many years living in the City of Sails where family still reside. Love hanging out with four legged bestie (see photo), catching up with family or chillin at home with the chooks and feline buddy. Only recently completed an apiculture course and learning the art and science of beekeeping! Interested in house sitting as way to visit family in Akl or the Naki and meet some furry friends (like a home away from home). I’m the resident house & pet sitter in my cul de sac probably coz the pets befriended me first before I had even met their owners lol. It’s true my pup has four legged besties which come to our house when they escape their backyards! I have looked after pets when colleagues have gone abroad on deployments as I was in the NZDF for over 12 years. You can expect an affectionate, reliable, clean and trustworthy house sitter that will be respectful to your loved pet and your property. :)

I am a 27 year old female full time secondary teacher. I teach textiles and food technology and have an interest in those areas in my personal life also. I am a true homebody, so it is very important for me to keep my living spaces clean, tidy and comfortable to life and relax in. I am keen on house and pet sitting because I love going away on trips and staying at someone else’s house gives me that feeling of a little holiday. I absolutely adore pets, and will love and care for yours to the best of my ability! I also love going for long walks daily, so dogs will never have to ask twice! Growing up, our family always had dogs and it was part of my responsibility to care for them. I have had cats of my own in the past, along with rabbits and fish. I enjoy being outside in the garden, and find weeding oddly therapeutic- so if you have a veg or flower garden, i'm happy to water it and keep things ticking over in that regard. A homeowner who selects me to care for their pets and home can trust that the space will be cared for, and respected as if it were my own. It would be kept exceptionally clean and tidy, and maintained.

Hi there, we are Charis and Imogen. Both from the UK and travelling around New Zealand on our working holiday. Charis was raised in London and grew up with 3 cats, 2 of which, sadly passed away over the Covid period. He now has 2 new cats back in the UK: Margo and Milou and really loves having animals around him, as he feels most at ease when there are pets in the home. Charis works as an artist and painter, specialising in oil on canvas portraits. I (Imogen) grew up in Cambridge in a busy household of teachers and we never had pets, much to my disappointment! To make up for it, my parents always looked after our neighbours pets during the school holidays - which we still do to this day. I regularly look after my neighbours cat Maiko and their dogs Budica (a corgi) and Keira (a Newfoundland) as well as, their goldfish. I have worked for 3 years in corporate marketing as a Video Producer, and I hope to continue my career into Film and TV production. We both have a sense of adventure and came to New Zealand on a working holiday to explore the beautiful scenery and meet new people. Please take a look through our references and feel free to contact our referees, who will happily vouch for our characters. Both of us are patient and respectful people, and we look forward to caring for your pets and homes while you are away. Charis & Imogen

Hi, my name is Tammy. I am a freelance copywriter who has been working in the advertising industry for 16 years. I work from home, but occasionally need to be in the office for meetings. So while house sitting, I can be with your pets during the day as much as possible. I have previously lived in Sydney and came back to NZ in 2016. Since then I've worked in both Auckland and Wellington and spent a lot of time in Taranaki, which is where I grew up. I am happy to travel around, my base is Taranaki for now, but it's easy for me to travel to where your pets are. I love animals! I don't have a pet of my own, but I have spent a lot of time looking after family and friends pets, mostly dogs and cats. I grew up around farm animals as a child and teen during school holidays on the family farm, so am more than comfortable around small to large animals. I have recently sat for big and small dogs, puppies to elderly dogs and inside and outside cats. I love to figure out your pets routines and make them feel as comfortable with me in their home and become their 'person' while I am in your home. It brings me so much joy to make them feel as happy as possible. I am familiar with giving Ventolin through a spacer and oral medication for dogs, eye drops, supplements and any type of medication needed. If you take me on as a house sitter I will always respect your space and personal belongings and I'll always do my best for you and your pets. I look forward to meeting you and your pets and taking care of your home whilst you are away.

Hey there! I'm Jennifer, originally from Brazil. I've got a passion for pets and I enjoy creating a safe and comfortable environment for both homeowners and their pets. I've had some fantastic experiences with house sitting, particularly in Wellington. I've taken care of both cats and dogs, ensuring they're well-fed, exercised, and given plenty of attention. It's been amazing to connect with different pets and their unique personalities. If you choose me as your sitter, you can expect someone who genuinely cares for your home and furry friends. I'll provide daily updates, maintain a clean space, follow your pet's routine, and ensure everything runs smoothly. Your home and pets will be in good hands with me!

Hello e Ciao I'm Kathleen, a recently returned Wellingtonian. I've been living abroad in Europe often working as a live-in Nanny for several families over long periods of time until a few months ago. I have so much experience looking after children and their homes while parents are away. I also had a Dog, Chase for 18 years. He was a gorgeous German Shepherd who bought so much joy to us growing up. I also had a one-eared sausage dog Pedro in Italy! He was the funniest little thing and playful like a toddler. I've taken care of Cats in the families I've Au-paired for as well as guinea pigs. I see housesitting as a great way to keep life interesting and change lifestyle quite often. I'm very used to doing this thanks to my years in Italy and Turkey. I prefer to live alone at the moment also and for this reason housesitting is a very appealing option while I save for my own place. Im a quiet, tidy and house proud lady..no noisy parties to worry about with me! I have many excellent references here and abroad whom you are welcome to call or email. I treat others homes and pets as my own which means they're very well loved. Please contact me for more info and to meet.

Kia ora, Jamie, myself and our two boys reside in Melbourne and are always looking for a chance to come home to Wellington to spend time with whanau, house and pet sitting for a month or longer is a great opportunity for us to do this in a settled way for our kids. We both work remotely /hybrid so are looking for a housesit with good internet and a working space while our boys are in school locally and so we will be able to care for any pets throughout the day and night. We love animals, have our own happy cat Suzy and some tropical fish in Melbourne (who would be cared for by a house and pet sitter also) and Jamie is very experienced with a variety of dogs having grown up on a farm in country Victoria and owned several working and non working dogs over the years. We are kind, active, sporty, respectful, tidy and conscientious. I work in Government in Community Development, social justice and social policy and Jamie works for a multinational tech company in UX and a product management. We have house and pet sat in Melbourne and Wellington before and are happy to provide references upon request. We look forward to the chance to care for your home and loved pets / best friends while you enjoy your adventures.

Hi there, my fiancé Jason and I are tidy, organised young professionals who would love to look after a home and their loved ones to have a change of scenery from the Wellington CBD. We have both looked after other family friend's houses and animals about a dozen times, including dog walks and feeding, sleeping over and making sure the garden is looked after. We enjoy reading a good book, watching Netflix shows and going for different nature walks in our spare time. We are homebodies who like to relax on the couch with a cup of tea and spend quality time with our friends and family. We got engaged at Poppies in Martinborough in January 2022 and are so happy to be starting our lives together filled with many happy travels and memories. You can expect a very clean and tidy home to return to. Also happy animals that are well loved and your home being treated with the utmost respect. We look forward to meeting you!

Hi there! My name is Frances and I live in central Dunedin. I am an Artist that works from home. I find this works in well with offering my services as a house and pet sitter, not only does it allow me to regularly travel around both the South and North Island of New Zealand, but it enables me to spend quality time at home befriending and looking after your pets, giving them that one on one company, attention and continuity of care and routines that they are used too. I am a mature single woman, with no dependents and have an animal-loving personality. I come from a large Dutch, farming family from the Waikato, so from a young age I started house and pet sitting for family and friends. I am a very reliable, honest, clean and tidy person with good communication skills, with references that can verify this to put your mind at rest:) I have had many house sitting positions over the years, the most current being for Alan, in Otautau, Southland (see reference attached). This was a large property with one gorgeous dog and I cared for him for around three months. Over Christmas I house sat for Rosie and Ian in Christchurch for 6 weeks, they had one dog, two cats, a goldfish and a vege patch (see other reference attached). These were both very enjoyable experiences, I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with their pets and sharing their spaces with them. I also have a picture of Casper the dog in my profile - as you can see, we are out taking him for a bit of a driving lesson :) As my references will tell you, I am a trustworthy and respectful person who communicates well. I am very reliable, clean and tidy and have been told by past home owners that what they appreciated most was not only did they come home to a clean and tidy house, but they could see that their animals were well cared for and loved. I am a bright creative friendly person who you will find a delight to have in your home. Thank you for taking the time to consider my online profile and feel free to call my referees, who will be more than happy to vouch for my character and skills as a house sitter and pet minder. I do hope to meet with you and your pets shortly. Warmest regards...Frances:)

Hi, my name is Maggie. I am a mature and reliable woman, finding myself in an 'empty nest'. Without son and without pets! I've been a homeowner for decades, and so I know the value of having someone who will take good care of your home. Until now I've always had pets, so will love taking care of cats, dogs, chickens and any other animals you may have. If you have a garden or outdoor area, I'm happy to make sure things are maintained. I'm confident in rural and urban environments, having lived in both. Why am I interested in housesitting? I mainly work from home (computer) so am flexible about where I am located. I'm based in Auckland and am employed by the University of Auckland, but enjoy discovering new places now and then. And I have family and friends in other parts of the country so like to be closer to them. I don't smoke, nor am I a party animal. Boringly safe! My experience as a house and pet sitter includes occasional weekends, a three month stint, and everything in between. I've befriended elderly cats, huge dogs, goats and even hand milked a cow as part of my 'sitting' experiences. Happy to answer any questions as you make your decisions.

We are an active retired couple who enjoy walking and biking who have always had cats and dogs over the years, and as we now live in an apartment that does not allow pets, we really look forward to our housesitting positions that include them. We are both responsible and respectful and look forward to meeting and looking after your beloved pets while you are on holiday . Over the last 6 yrs we have looked after dogs, cats and chickens and as we are active enjoy the exercise for us and the animals. As we now have a lot of time on our hands, we thought this is a great way to see our beautiful country. We will have no problem getting references and always treat your home as our own We are shortly sitting for one of them for the 5th time. We hopefully look forward to meeting you and your pets in the future and hope that you will consider us as your housesitters. Brenda and Mike Dring

Eight years ago, we decided to have a change of lifestyle. We sold our backpackers hostel and bought a large caravan because we love new areas to explore. In the past we have had corporate careers, managed holiday parks, and been custodians/cooks at a ski lodge. We have had dogs (sadly no longer) and have lived with family on their lifestyle block looking after the chooks, goat and dog. We still love caravan life but would also like to try the housesitting experience in different parts of NZ. (If you have a spare spot for us to put our caravan whilst we look after your property with tender loving care then that would be a real bonus but not a necessity.) As housesitters we would ensure that you would come back to your home after you have been away and find your pets (if you have them) well-loved and your home as you left it.

I am a mature single lady. I am going to be in between homes for a few months so thought I would house sit so as not to impose too much on family and friends. I have house sat in the past mainly for friends. I have my own cat William and my sister has kindly agreed to look after him during this time. If you decide to have me house sit for you, you can expect your home and pet(s) to be well looked after. I am happy to water plants, mow lawns etc.

Hi I am John, I am 63 years old, retired and living in Whanganui moved backfromKerikeri 2020. I was brought up in Masterton and have always had a love for animals. As a child I had Gold Fish and built a Bird Aviary and bred Budgies, Canaries and Quail. Over the school holidays if we weren't away I would feed my friend's and family pets if they were on holiday. I have had cats most of my life and when I moved to Keri keri owned several lifestyle blocks and had beef dry stock, a pet Goat and a dog and a I also looked after neighbour's properties when they were away, so chooks, sheep are lovey to look after also. I have had a dog for most of my time up here in the north. I have spent the last 5 years looking after properties in Opua which were on Book a Bach. I had nothing but good feed back about how clean the properties were from the guests. During my working life I was in sales and I am a good people person and I treated my job as it is was my own business and 90 percent of my sales were repeat business or referals. That is what I aim to achieve with this house sitting venture. Your pets will get to know me as you will and it will make your holiday more enjoyable knowing that they are in good care with a familiar face. I love overseas travel but don't spend enough time travelling around our beautiful country. This will give me the best of both worlds . I look forward to being able to look after your pets and property for you.

Hi all! I'm Sarah. After having to move out of my second rental house in a year (due to the landlords wanting to sell), I've decided to give house sitting a go to save some money to eventually buy a house of my own, so I don't have to go through this same dilemma again! I have previous experience house sitting for family and friends, including caring for dogs and cats. Also my previous flatmate had a cat who I would look after while he was away. I love animals, growing up we had a dog, cat, a sheep and fish. And in my adult life I have owned a cat as well. I enjoy getting out walking/hiking as well so I would love to take your dog along with me. I'm currently studying to be a Naturopath, which is all online so I will be home a lot to keep your animals company. And I would love the company also! I will give them special care and lots of attention. I have part time work one or two days a week and I am a non-smoker. I love to travel and explore new places, so while I'm mainly based in Wellington, I would like the opportunity to house-sit in other parts of NZ as well. I pride myself on being honest, trustworthy, reliable and friendly and would assure you that if you choose me to look after your treasured pets, plants and home that I would treat them as if they were my own. I would of course hand back your home as you left it. I would love to meet you and your pets and hope that you will consider me when you next have to be away from home.

Hello, I'm Jason. I love animals, I grew up on a farm with loads of dogs and cats. Your animals will be in good hands with me, as will your home. I also love to walk, so if your doggies need walking, that's no problem! I am a self-employed designer, I do have a studio in Wellington, but have the flexibility to work-from-home and often do a few days per week, so if you pets need a little more company than the normal fuzzy friend, I'm up for that. I'm reliable, mature and tidy. Happy to chat about more details, get in touch :)

I am a responsible and reliable individual who is excited about the opportunity to care for your home and pets while you are away. I love animals, come from a farming background, and have lived with cats and sometimes dogs all my life. I'm an experienced house and pet sitter, and I am confident that I have the skills and experience necessary to provide excellent care for what matters most to you. My husband and I enjoy travelling and the outdoors. We have been married for 39 years, have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. We are at the stage of our lives where we have a bit more free time and having to house sit would be an extension of how we look after our own home and garden. We have both grown up with pets (cats, dogs and fish). Our grandies have chickens so we have become familiar with them too. We have looked after neighbours houses when they have been away, ensuring that their homes are secure and animals fed, gardens watered etc if required. We are extremely house proud.

Hiya, I'm Fin, a 35 year old Environmental scientist and Marine biologist currently working for the government - MPI (Biosecurity). Absolutely love dogs hence getting into MPI to work alongside sniffer dogs. I live a pretty quiet lifestyle so I tend to enjoy my time walking, at the gym, yoga, Pilates and swimming, and heading out to explore new coffee shops. When not housesitting, I am at my parents home looking after their two highly active rambunctious dogs. We go out exploring, paddleboarding and adventuring discovering our lovely backyard here in Auckland. I love walking dogs and am used to working with large dogs so am comfortable around strong dogs that may need constant watching, as well as little dogs who love cuddles. I am clean, tidy and respectful and would love to hear from you for long term (5 days +) sits. Any questions, please feel free to get in touch :)

Thank you for taking an interest in my profile. General: I am a home owner myself, a home in which I have had rented tenants and house sitters (and pets) and hence I understand the absolute need to have a clean, tidy, mature and responsible person looking after your home and pets. I am able to tick all the boxes when it comes to maintaining your home and caring for your pets and can supply a clean Ministry of Justice Criminal Check certificate if requested. I am Retired, (Early Retirement @ 60), very Fit and Mature with no need to go out to work and no need to work from home, (i.e. much time for your pets). I am also an experienced Home Owner, (Brisbane), an experienced Animal Lover, and ex-Healthcare Professional, hence I believe I can offer you all you wish for, (and what I would require), in a House Sitter i.e. plenty of time to spend with your pets and much experience in looking after a home. Being a fitness freak I love long walks and love to do so with the company of any dogs I am caring for. Personal History: I have taken early retirement from my role as a Healthcare Professional (Pharmacist), Leadership consultant, and Fitness professional (my hobby) to : -1. spend more time with and helping my family (3 sons) and their families in Queensland and Hawkes Bay, and to; -2. travel around and explore New Zealand and Australia. I am an Australian Citizen (Brisbane) and New Zealand Permanent Resident. My largest house sit was a farm sit where not only was I responsible for the farm-house and Veggie Garden, but also 3 dogs, 3 cats, 7 sheep, 3 Goats, 2 bunnies, numerous chickens and ducks, 4 miniature horses, 6 doves and two aviaries, and also responsible for keeping an eye on the elderly Granny living on a separate dwelling on the farm!! All survived my care! I look forward to hearing from you, Kind Regards, Blair

Hi there, Our names are Alan and Anne and we are retired Farm Managers. After we retired we regularly house sat in town and rural homes and on lifestyle blocks in the South Island and Lower North Island. We spent quite long periods on some farm properties. We enjoy looking after both indoor and outdoor animals. In recent times we have been moving around in our campervan and seeing a bit more of the country and doing less house sitting. Before we retired, we always had pets (cats and dogs) in our household and the farms' working heading and huntaway dogs. Our last pet was a lovely Rhodesian Ridgeback called Sam who passed just before we retired. Our daughter and son-in-law's pets are regularly in our life (first a German Shepherd, then Schnauzer and now a poodle). We are most definitely dog lovers and know how to handle dogs and what is required in terms of care of them, including regular walks. Cats gravitate to Anne's lap. We are based in Marlborough region and can travel to house sit. If you are looking for reliability, honesty and professionalism with good stock management and housekeeping skills, you are in touch with the right people! Thank you for taking the time to consider our online profile and we hope to hear from you soon. Warmest regards, Alan and Anne.

Hi, My name is Sophia. I came to New Zealand for a working holiday and never left. I am a psychologist and was employed by the Department of Corrections for 10 years before moving into private practice. I took a sabbatical for 12 months between jobs and in that time discovered how much I love looking after pets. I did a lot of house (pet) sitting over that time and still do it for friends. I also volunteered for the SPCA and have gained a certificate in animal care. If I were to house sit for you; you can expect me to treat your home with respect and to look after your pets as you want them to be looked after and with a lot of love.

I'm generally adventurous, I grew up as a farmer's daughter, so I appreciate animals and the environment. I have two adult children, one nearby in New Plymouth and the other in Australia. I recently returned from Australia where I had one house-sitting position and three woofing placements. My main past times are gardening, riding my electric bike, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the years I've had numerous significant pets. My first was a calf that I cared for and trained. Because of my fondness for her, my Father kept her until I was seventeen when I went to the Waikato to qualify as a Nurse. Another pet I was particularly fond of was a canary, which sang beautifully and I called him Gusto. Unfortunately, he died during covid. More recently I had a stray cat that determinedly made herself home with me. Pets are great companions and I appreciate them very much. I began house-sitting before retirement, and have cared for cats and dogs, plus a few sheep and a donkey. These situations have been for family, friends, and acquaintances for periods of almost a week to a month.

Hello home owners, I’m Matt. I’m 60 years of age and have been working part time as a carer. A quiet, tidy person who likes to spend time in nature, walking and exercising daily. Mostly however, I enjoy the company of pets. Having a daily routine is an important part part of my lifestyle, and dogs are great companions for that.! I usually bond straight away with them. I have house sat for friends and family over the past 10 to 15 years. Mostly here in New Zealand, but also in Byron bay NSW. A keen swimmer, I keep fit when possible as well as having a meditation practice. Overall I’m looking for a peaceful place to stay, with good outdoor space to explore. Kind regards, Matt.

Kia Ora! I'm single, I live a quiet and clean lifestyle that keeps me grounded and smiling and I enjoy solitude at home as often as it comes. I work full-time, train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu most nights of the week in Central Wellington and in my spare time I enjoy looking after plants (not a stranger to a bit of gardening), reading, playing the guitar and working on my songwriting. I meditate, am highly physically active and love animals, so if your pup needs a run around or your cat needs a snuggle while you're away, I'm your man! I have had cats throughout my whole childhood, and have had a family dog when I was very young. I have looked after friends dogs on occasion. It's fair to say I have more experience looking after cats than dogs, but I feel happily at home with both. I have looked after a fish for a friend in their house many moons ago, but understand the drill and know how to follow feeding instructions etc. My reason for wanting to house-sit is that I've begun living predominantly in my van to save money for travel in the coming years. I feel like house-sitting will enable me to balance the freedom I enjoy with the van, with a bit of healthy "home-life" and perhaps I can use my freedom to help others wanting to get some time away from their home too. As I have moved out of my flat and have complete mobility, I'm highly flexible as to where, when and for how long I can take on house-sits within the Wellington region for now. I spent 3 years living and travelling in Europe (predominantly Germany) and have had plenty of experience living in other people homes and doing so with the attitude of leaving the place cleaner than when I showed up. So, beyond the fact that your pets are happily purring away when you return, you wouldn't even know I had been there. I'd love to hear from you and am an open book so if you have any questions, fire away!

My partner George and I are currently living in Raglan so we can be closer to family since COVID-19 hit the world. George is retired from the film industry as a camera technician originally from the UK and extremely well travelled. He is very active and interested in skiing, golf, surf, tennis and anything that doesn't require him to get into a boat. I am a former secondary teacher and film industry veteran and also love travel, food and wine. We have lived in Queenstown, Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland and Gisborne and have owned cats, dogs, ducks and sheep. We are currently tenants as we try to find our next home and have been landlords in the past. We have used house sitters and been house sitters so we have had experience from both perspectives. One of the main reasons we would like to house sit is to spend time with different pets. Due to our desire to travel more we decided not to get any pets and I am missing being around animals. Your pets will be happy to have our attention and company all day. We are happy to house sit in any area and have experience with both small and large dogs and cats. We look forward to meeting you sometime in the future. Thanks Karen & George

Hello, my name is Sharmaine and I am a dedicated house-sitter who loves taking care of homes and pets. Growing up, I have always had a strong connection with animals and have been responsible for taking care of them since I was a child. I understand that your pets are a part of your family, and I will provide them with the same love and attention that you do. As an online worker, I have the flexibility to work from anywhere and can devote my time to house-sitting and caring for your pets. I am available to stay in your home and provide round-the-clock care to ensure that your pets are comfortable and happy while you are away. In addition to my love for animals, I am also an organized and detail-oriented person who takes pride in maintaining a clean and tidy home. I will ensure that your home is well-maintained and secure while you are away. My background in education as an English teacher has provided me with valuable skills in communication, problem-solving, and time-management, which I bring to all of my house-sitting engagements. I am friendly, reliable, and trustworthy, and will provide you with peace of mind knowing that your home and pets are in good hands. Thank you for considering me as your house-sitter and pet-sitter. I am excited to meet you and your furry friends and provide them with the care and attention they deserve. This will enable me to gain a better understanding of your needs and provide you with a tailored solution that is aligned with your preferences. Please let me know a date and time that would be convenient for you to meet, and I will make the necessary arrangements. I hope that you will consider me as your house sitter, and I look forward to the opportunity to demonstrate my commitment to providing you with reliable and trustworthy house-sitting services.

Hi! My name is Ashleigh Rigby, and I am 30. I'm a consumer scientist from South Africa who is in New Zealand at the moment. I'm looking into housesitting because my profession is that of hospitality management and the area is tourism-based and I love animals! I have plenty of work experience in managing hotels, country houses, lodges and restaurants and I have done house and pet-sitting since I was a young teenager in my beautiful home city of Hilton , Midlands Meander in South Africa. I have grown up in a pet-loving family, and have experience in all pets from fish, birds, hamsters, Guinee pigs, farm animals, dogs, and reptiles! I am travelling alone whilst taking a break and looking for work in a specific area. Due to my circumstances, I am looking for longer time period of a housesit. I'm a very stay-at-home-mommy type of girl! My most recent housesit was in November 2022, in South Africa where I looked after a lovely little kitten called Tiggy! If you are the kind of owner who loves getting pictures of your animal doing cute things everyday, I'm in! Or, if you prefer to know that your pet is well cared for once a week, then it's fine with me. I will adjust to your needs and let you know exactly what is happening when you require it. I am always available on my phone and easily contactable. I will treat your animals as my own, as I am extremely aware and can relate to the love that your animal requires! I know from experience it can be nerve-wracking to leave a pet with a stranger, so I can assure you that I will look after your animal with the greatest care. If you don't have pets, that's okay! Due to my employment industry mainly involving running hotels, I live a sober, clean and pristine life! I take care of furniture, I make sure to respect the value of household items and I am mindful of electricity usage and water restrictions. My mum would definitely back me up in saying that I take after her when looking after a home. It's your pride and Joy, and it will be mine too. You can expect complete transparency and clear communication with me. Should I notice anything out of the norm, I will make sure to contact you immediately. I am honest, and will be grateful to have the opportunity to live in your home whilst you are away. I hope this gives you a sense of who I am! Have a lovely day, and I look forward to hearing from you.

***Fully vaccinated with double boosters*** Your home will be looked after with the utmost care and respect, as will your much-loved pet/s; with the goal being to ensure they're not stressed or anxious whilst you need to be elsewhere. Their needs take priority and should do too. I particularly love cats, especially the inquisitive ones with heaps of personality and character but also love the delicate ones who need special one-on-one time to feel reassured in your absence, along with those who have clocked up a few years and need to be respected, loved, and given time to simply be. I like small dogs with bold personalities and also appreciate the character and energy of larger ones. The very mature dogs, or those with special requirements, are treasures to be respected and allowed to keep their own pace in life, whatever that may be. I am more of a homebody and enjoy quiet times. This allows me great flexibility to be on-hand for pets and their home-based routines. I am very houseproud, honest, and reliable. Non-smoker and sober habits. I enjoy my privacy and totally respect yours. I provide my own linen and supplies, which helps me to leave your home pristine for your return. I look forward to talking with you about the possibility of exploring the location you and your pets lovingly call 'home'. As a longstanding full-time housesitter, I often apply for multiple housesits in various regions. It would be lovely if you could contact me as soon as you are able so I can lock your dates in and confirm my availability for you and your pets. Thanks for reading my profile and hope to hear from you soon. Take special care and kind regards Juanita

Hello, I'm a single 39 year old paediatric physio who is looking to change careers and get into film. My contract at Waitakere hospital finishes at the end of December and I plan to have a break during January. I own a small unit which I rent out on Airbnb and need to be near to clean it etc. I would love to own animals of my own (especially a dog), but as I travel a lot and don’t have a good space I think it'd be unfair on them at this stage. I would enjoy looking after any animals if you have any especially a dog for my daily runs/walks. My spare time could be spent on a run/walk/yoga, heading out to a beach or bush, helping out at a community garden, hanging out with friends or relaxing into a few hours of reading/ photography. More of a home body his year and have a bit of work to do on the change of career side of things. I am a very clean, tidy person and probably would be more than usual if living in someone else's house. I'd love to do a bit of gardening as well.

I am a young professional working a 9-5 corporate job in communications. I am trustworthy, reliable, a good communicator, very house proud, and will treat your home and fur babies as if they were my own. I have grown up as a lover of animals (cats in particular) and always had a family cat as a child. My ex partner and I adopted two adorable tabby cats who are mother (Ava) and son (Otis) from a local rescue - they will not be coming with me to house sit. I used to regularly look after my former flatmates golden retriever and black cat which kept me great company during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns! In my spare time I love to bake, read, and get outdoors. I work from home two days a week and am a real homebody who loves to curl up on the couch with a book, a cup of tea, and a furry friend. I would love to have the opportunity to take care of your pride and joy (both pets and home) while you are away! Please feel free to contact me via the provided email or phone.

Hello, we are Lynne and Bob Mitchener. Our working lives began as a registered nurse (Lynne) and an electrician (Bob). Since then we have also worked for non-profit trusts and in the hospitality industry. Our last job, from which we have now retired from was managing a rural retreat centre on ten acres, where we took care of the bookings, looked after the cleaning of the house, the maintenance and grounds. We come with a wealth of practical experience to care for your home and pets. We have cared for cats, dogs, hens and sheep. One lovely pet -sit we had was Harry, a gorgeous little wire-haired foxy cross. We looked after him for three months, and declared that when we eventually retire in our own home, we will find a dog like Harry. However, we are open to falling in love with new varieties, and look forward to caring for your dogs and see them work their charm on us. We have included a photo of Millie, the black labrador with the guilty look on her face. She invited us to her home for one month, about five years back, while her owners were overseas, and we enjoyed the daily walks she took us on to the local beach, where she wanted to play chase the ball until she dropped!! Before her owners went away they gave her a stuffed toy, and told us that it would be "stuffed" before they came home! Three weeks into the house sit, the beloved stuffed toy was still intact, but alas, in the final week, we came home to this mess!!! Oh well, at least we were warned!!! As for cats, we love all and every variety, but are especially partial to ginger moggies. They are so smart. We retired from full time work in April 2017, did a 3 month house sit in Otaki where we looked after a fabulous soft coated wheaten terrier called Lulu, two cats, and 12 chooks! In september 2017 we moved to Taupo where we have retired, and renovating up our home. Two years after this, we were contacted by the owners of lovely Lulu, to tell us they were moving to a retirement village and werent able to take Lulu, so they were needing to rehouse her, sadly. The next four and a bit years were a lovely history for us, as Lulu joined our household and brought much pleasure and joy to our lives. Sadly she is now passed on, so we are available for housesits once again. Our main priority is, we have family in Auckland, and whangapora, so we are especially interested in short housesits in both these places, to catch up with family and friends, especially our new grandson in Stanmore bay. We have done lots of house and pet sitting before, both in NZ and the UK and will look after your home and pets as if our own. We are both creative, caring people, we enjoy reading, walking, cycling, movies and spending time with our friends and family. We have enjoyed cycling the Otago rail trail, the Hauraki rail trail, the old coach road trail and the timber trail. Lynne is a writer and Bob is an artist, he has won several awards for his work. We are a quiet, discreet caring couple and will do everything we can to look after your home and special pets. Thanks for reading our profile, we hope to meet you soon!

We are a professional couple living and working in Wellington as a corporate lawyer and architect. We studied in Wellington and have since been living in Roseneath. We are planning to go Europe towards the middle of 2023 and are looking to move out of our current rental to save money for our big trip. We're both very active - enjoying biking, running and ocean swimming. Jake grew up on a farm in Hawke's Bay surrounded by animals (including a gorgeous black cat and jack russel) and Molly has a family dog at home in Tauranga who she adores. We have looked after family friends homes on the odd occassion, including feeding and walking pets. We're trustworthy, reliable and house-proud, keeping our home spotless and presentable at all times. Jake is extremely handy on the tools and is able to fix any niggles that we have at our current property with ease. You can expect us to leave your home spotless and take care of your animals with lots of love (and walks!). Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions - we're happy to catch up for a coffee to hear more about the role you're advertising and for you to get to know us before inviting us into your home.

I am a professional software specialist. Auckland has been my home for more than two decades. I like being in nature. Reading, practising yoga and tending my small veggie garden fill up most of my time. I don't have a pet myself although I grew up with a few dogs and cats. I would love to have a cat one day. Right now, I love walking my neighbour's dogs with her. She's a professional dog walker. I learned so much from her regarding communication with pets and how to care for them. I hope I can help you to care for your pet while you are away.

Very clean, tidy responsible - well travelled single man working freelance in the film industry (based in New Zealand and London). I often have time between work projects (ranging from a week to a few months) where it would be lovely to lead more of a structured domestic lifestyle, including dog walking/pet care as I love being around animals; with plenty of experience in caring for the pets of family and friends. I am based in Wellington (NZ/UK dual citizen), but happy to consider house sitting placements across New Zealand to experience living in new areas. I have travelled around both North and South Islands extensively for work and pleasure.

My name is John Wilkinson and my wife is Lindy Smith. We are both in our 60’s, now retired after lengthy careers in teaching and secondary school leadership. At the same time as working we have enjoyed a busy family life that has always had at its core cats, dogs and the occasional guinea pig. As a couple we have always been the ‘go to’ people for house and pet care, sitting advice and support for family, friends and work colleagues. I grew up originally in England where my father bred Boxers: so dogs have been a major presence in my childhood and further as family pets throughout our 30 years here in New Zealand. (a tradition continued by our married son and his Boxer dog.) Lindy has always had cats within her family and upbringing and she was the person who introduced me to the joys of a mixed pet household when we started our first home in UK. Our ‘record’ achieved here in New Zealand is 2 cats, 2 dogs, 3 guinea pigs and various temporarily adopted four-legged friends! We are home owners who take pride in our property and would transfer that responsible care to any house we were looking after. We have traveled widely, enjoying different cultures and cuisines and we bring an energetic approach to all we do. We have used a house-sitting service successfully in the past when we had pets and thus appreciate the expectations of house owners: - that their homes will be cherished, and their pets cared for well. In our retirement we are exploring other areas of New Zealand and the world. We both enjoy an active life – cycling, walking and swimming and I have recently taken up Paddle Boarding as a hobby. We are excited by each of our house-sits and the encounters with new people, pets, places and experiences which they provide – but we are mindful of the importance of house owners feeling comfortable with entrusting their precious homes and pets to others. We would be pleased to talk with you and answer any further questions.

Kia Ora! We are a French couple passionate by travels, new cultures and photography. We love to hike and do road trips, take pictures of landscapes and wild animals. We both have animals back home (cats and dogs) and are always more than happy when we are surrounded by pets! Alexis (31yo) has been a technical Director in real estate for 10 years. He could handle any technical issue that may happen in the house. He is a full-time Gardener/Landscaper, so all your garden and interior plants would be in good hands. Alexandra (27yo) adores languages and speaks perfect English. She’s a very organised and multi-tasker person. She could handle any situation where it is needed to speak good English. She just finished her contract at The University of Auckland as a Team Coordinator in Commercial Services. We arrived in NZ in July 2022. We already “house/pet-sitted” in several houses (Herne Bay, Morningside, Freemans Bay, Avondale, Long Bay, Christchurch, Queenstown) for long stays.

I am 67 but still feel like I’m in my 40s. I enjoy keeping fit. I hike, swim, love walking my daughter's labrador on the beach most mornings, l paddle board when condictions are right and practise yoga. As a child I grew up with Ponty the dog then Kim a Golden Spaniel, we also had Whiskers the cat. They were my buddies and were part of the games we played in the back yard. My biggest love was horses and my dapple grey horse called Centennial. John has a love for all animals too and grew up with Shep the border collie, in his adolescence he had pigeons . I volunteer for Riding For The Disabled and absolutely love it. The difference you see in the confidence of the children that are participating is very heart warming. We are confident with handling farm animals. I love animals any size, colour, hairy, bald, old or young and especially their individual personalities. Our first house sitting experience we looked after Ian and Debbie Shuttleworths house and rescue dog named Heney for 6 months while the owners went back home to England. The second was sitting a friend's house Dean and Nancy for the winter while they were in Australia. We will respect your property, keep the yards tidy, mow lawns etc, most importantly the house will be kept spotless and the pets will be loved as if they were our own.

We're an honest and trustworthy hard working professional couple living in Auckland. Having now lived in NZ for over 15 years we have a network of friends and family throughout the country who we like to visit when we find the opportunity. Our reason for exploring house sitting is to hopefully be of service to similar people like ourselves who like to do a bit of travel. Therefore giving them the peace of mind to have a worry free time away from their own property and pets, knowing they're in safe and capable hands. Over the years we have always utilised friends for any longer term house sitting requirements and in the past have been house sitters for overseas property investors. We quite often look after the pets of our friends when they go on holiday. You can expect your property to be looked after as if it were our own. To always be in the same condition as you left it and if required we quite enjoy doing a bit of pottering in the garden.
