I work part-time for a pet traveling company, transferring fur babies from Auckland International Airport to their owners & do contract film work as a Background/Action Extra. I have lived in Auckland for over 30yrs & currently live with my 3 daughters & 2 son inlaws; with the oldest & her partner having had their first child. They are self sufficient & look after themselves while I'm Housesitting, which gives me time out to rejuvenate my energy. I've recently completed 67x Housesits since November 2022 in Grafton, Mt Eden, Mt Albert, Kohimarama, Glendowie, Bucklands Beach, Howick, Botany, Pakuranga, Stonefields, Flat Bush, Titirangi, New Windsor, Onehunga, Remuera, Favona, Papatoetoe, Hillpark, The Gardens, Randwick Park, Conifer Grove, Waiata Shores/Takanini & Te Kauwhata. Housesits have been from overnight to 9wks; looking after beautiful dogs & cats (aged 17wks old to 17yrs old) with specific dietary & medication requirements (for asthma, anxiety, arthritis & Addison disease); tropical fish, pond fish & laying chickens; maintaining their homes (some with pool/spa), watering vegetable garden & plants. I've been successful to have callbacks from these for January, February, March, April & May; with new bookings for January & February 2025. A homeowner can expect me to be very clean, tidy & respectful of ones property, as I am an ex-Commercial cleaner having worked in hotels, Auckland University & a college. Hobbies are currently watching movies, relaxing to music & meditation. I do not own any pets, however I do appreciate them & would be a great caregiver for your precious fur babies. The photos in my profile are beautiful cats, fish, chickens & dogs I looked after during my Housesits. They were very attentive, affectionate & playful. We thoroughly enjoyed each other's company. We are a semi-retired couple who like to take breaks away from our busy life in Raglan. I have various volunteer roles here, plus grandchildren, and Robin is a trauma therapist working from home - he retired from a medical career in 2020. We have used house sitters for our own home when we used to travel overseas for work and appreciated the security it gave us while we were away, knowing that our home and pets would be lovingly cared for. We would be very happy to provide this for other people. We are both very clean and tidy - we take pride in having a lovely comfortable home. My husband is also very handy (he also has an engineering background which helps here) and can usually fix almost anything! I love to cook, and enjoy gardening, walking and exploring new places. We also enjoy reading and various crafts. We have a cat, and three chickens at the moment. We have had a dog in the past (a beautiful border collie) but he passed away some time ago and because we were travelling a fair bit at that time we haven't got another dog.

I am an African girl who grew up in a big farm with my big family of 8 people. My Farther was a teacher and a farmer. Growing up, I have been around nature and we kept animals like cows, pigs, dogs, poultry and cats have been our faithful neighbours and companions. My Husband Godwin and I met while studying in China. One of the common things we have is the passion for travelling and appreciating God's creation in diversity and the beauty around. Because of this, we decided to embark on a world tour. one trip led to another and here we are in New Zealand. By the way, ours is a story of West meeting East for he is from West Africa and I am from East Africa. My Husband enjoys cooking, playing football and gardening. He transformed my sister's dying flowers to a wonder garden. He always wowed out visitors with his Ghanian cuisines. On the other hand, there is me, who is not a fan of cooking but I enjoy cleaning. We call ourselves key and lock because we complement each other. I enjoy poetry a lot. I have written a few pieces and I hope to publish my book some day. Together, we would like to do housesitting for the purpose of saving money towards purchasing our home here in New Zealand. We began housesitting last year in March 2023 as our apartment was and still is!!! undergoing major remedial renovations - ridiculous I know!!. We have thoroughly enjoyed this experience and have loved looking after houses/pets throughout Auckland. As we have enjoyed it so much - we are deciding that even/when our apartment is complete we will be continuing to make ourselves available to housesit. So a little about us: We are a professional couple in their 50's. We are both working full-time in Auckland, but Craig does shift work so there is a lot of time that he is home when I am at work and vice versa. Prior to moving into our apartment we had both cats and dogs as our pets and these were brought up with our three kids, and we have loved interaction with animals that we have been lucky enough to get to know over the last year. If we can assist you by providing safe secure environment for your pets whilst you are not there, we would be delighted to do so. We always treat the home as if it is ours and respect the rules of the house and how you want our interaction with your house and animals to go. I (Julie) am a 5th generation Aucklander and I grew up with two dogs (lab X & mastiff/ridgeback X), four cats, budgies, chickens and even looked after our uncles pet pig! There was always a cat or two on your lap at home, with a dog asleep on your foot, a budgie on the shoulder. I love the fact that we are able to introduce our grandkids to how to treat well with animals and see them grow to love them as we do. Craig (6th generation +) hails from Wellington and now an Aucklander. He has been employed in a senior management role in the government for over 20 years here in Auckland (so I have told him that makes him an Aucklander - but he is apparently only an Aucklander, when Auckland wins in sport!)- and was brought up with smaller dogs (terriers & pugs) and cats. As he works shifts he is often available in the day to walk dogs/ have the cat curl up with him! As stated both of us are full-time workers and have a deep love of animals, therefore, we are motivated and keen to be your sitters.

Kia Ora My name is Christine, I'm 55 yrs old and only moved to Auckland in January 24, after running a Massage clinic on Great Barrier Island for 17 years. Tuesday to Thursday, I study Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture at the College for Chinese Medicine in Ellerslie, Fridays is zoom classroom, Monday is time to relax & home study. But if needed I can anytime study from home and during Term holidays I would be around your pets 24/7. I am flatting with a friend in Glenn Innes, so house sitting is a great way to give her some space and myself some looking after beautiful pets, as I had to leave my gorgeous Foxy named Kahu behind. Also, living on Great Barrier by the beach and lots of bushwalks on my doorstep, I really appreciate taking dogs for a run. I grew up on a dairy farm in Bavaria, Germany surrounded by cats, dogs, chooks and other animals, I am an experienced and a very caring and loving pet mother. In my downtime on Great Barrier, I volunteered for St. Johns as a first responder, where I was a keen and trusted volunteer member under Adam Johnston, so police check is nothing new to me. Apparently, I am a very tidy and quiet person, don't smoke or drink and love cleaning the house or doing the dishes, as I find it meditative and relaxing. Also, studying late in my life is fun and I am focused on spending the weekends with my daughter who is boarding in Auckland. I am financially independent, but looking after big homes and pets is what I used to do (privately) on Great Barrier Island as a favor towards friends or even Massage clients owing a holiday home there. My adult children live in Auckland so like to be a bit closer while still having my own space and interests. I've always had a cat for a pet and currently own two gorgeous (if bossy!) Birman sisters. While late middle-aged, I enjoy running and try to get a one hour jog in on alternate days. This keeps me fit enough to walk dogs as often as needed. OUR PROFILE We are, Ken and Sharron and we would like to house sit for you. Let us tell you a little about ourselves. Ken grew up in a seaside town in country Victoria, Australia. Ken travelled with some friends throughout Australia, then it was onto New Zealand arriving in 1977. He immediately got involved in the local Aussie Rules League. Ken has worked in various industries and is currently employed at Northpower as an Electrical asset inspector. Sharron grew up in the Waikato and has spent all her adult years in Auckland. Growing up she had all types of pets - ducks, lambs, calves, cats and small dogs. Sharron has worked in the health sector for 40+ years and has held various positions for those years, the last few have been as a medical practice manager. We have been together for 32 years and own our own home. We have a daughter and a 5-year-old granddaughter living with us. When the COVID restrictions ended at start of April they returned from Australia. We now have a new cat (Ralfie) which we all love and adore. We both enjoy the company of cats and small dogs. We are not averse to calm larger dogs. We can adapt to look after all types of pets except snakes!!!!! Ken never liked them. We both like taking long walks and Sharron has been known to walk a half marathon without any training – result, painful blisters afterwards. Sharron loves the beach, cycling and knitting in winter. My sister and I sold our family home in Auckland and decided to 'take a break' from it all and she suggested we try house-sitting. I see this as a win-win for all parties involved, especially the pets as they get to be looked after and cared for in their own home. I love helping owners relax when they go away, providing them with peace of mind knowing that all is well with their loved ones and home. Massimo, my Staffordshire Bull Terrier of 13 years past away in November 2015 (see photo in my profile) and I miss him dearly. This is also a great way of getting my regular 'pet fix' and enjoying a variety of new canine/ feline friends. As a keen photographer, I am also looking forward to exploring and taking some great shots of the local areas. I also love photographing pets whilst they're relaxed at home, so leave me a USB drive and there should be some nice portraits waiting on your return! For the last 20 years I've been working in the support side of Information Technology and will be using this time to research a new career in Organisational Development. This means I will be there for pets that are used to constant companionship as I have my own PC and will spend a fair amount of time on the internet doing this and other leisure activities. Having also owned my own home, I've had cats and/ or dogs for most of my life and will care and cherish yours as if they were my own and I know what it means to take care of and run a household. My sister Sarah is also a sitter with The Housesitting Company and is also doing some sitting through this organisation and we plan to over-lap our schedules so it is highly likely that she will be staying with me at times. I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. Hello my name is Dave! I am a very healthy and fit retired builder/joiner. For 30 years I ran my own building and joinery company. I have been living in Australia and have recently returned as the heat was too much for me! My lovely wife passed away a few years ago after 47 years of marriage. I am a young and active senior who retired at Christmas 2021, I had worked with Ontario's largest Children's Mental Health Agency for 18 years. I am a non smoker and tea total (well coffee addict). I arrived in back NZ early 2022 after spending 19 years in Canada. My husband passed away in 2021. Quite the battle to get into MIQ to return home, with the lotto draw they installed !!! I house sat before leaving for Canada in Omokoroa and Mount Maunganui. One was an Avocado Orchard and they had 70 Parrots in aviaries on the property, such fun. I have been the proud owner of 5 rescue Old English Sheepdogs.. not all at the same time !!!! so I know about grooming. My last dog Boomer was 116lbs, (52.5kg) a big strong boy and the light of our lives. In 2020 we started to foster dogs brought up from Texas from the "high kill" pounds. Copper was our first, A Walker Coon Hound... never heard of them before and what a delight with his howl. I will leave your home as you left it though I do enjoy gardening and cleaning windows... I'm generally adventurous, I grew up as a farmer's daughter, so I appreciate animals and the environment. I have two adult children, one nearby in New Plymouth and the other in Australia. I recently returned from Australia where I had one house-sitting position and three woofing placements. My main past times are gardening, riding my electric bike, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the years I've had numerous significant pets. We have no pets at present and decided not to, to allow us to travel more easily. Previously we had 9 chickens - our 'other children'. One of our boys has Purebred American Bulldogs & we love visiting & playing with them. In the recent Auckland floods (for the 2nd time) close friends of ours bought their 6 chickens to us, to care for, until they were able to live in their home again - the first time we had them for over 6 months and more recently 3 months. Their 'babies' were well loved & looked after. Mick is a keen diver and loves to get out in the garden, Tracey used to be a professional cleaner so keeping a home sparkling clean is my thing - I also love mowing lawns. We both love to walk and do lengthier hikes & can be found in the mornings trying to beat each other at Wordle & Quordle. We are both people who take pride and care not only in our home (including the grounds) but any home we visit or stay in. We absolutely both respect your home is your castle, that your pets are your joy and we want you to go away knowing we will love your animals and care for them & your house (and grounds if required) so you can just relax. Im a keen and active rugby player in England and I have worked and saved hard to travel to New Zealand for your summer. I work in a dog friendly hotel in many high responsibility roles such as, office work, resident management, general maintenance of rooms and gardening, barman and management of deliveries. A 'jack' of all trades, no pun intended! In these positions, personal hygiene is a must and something i personally take pride in. As we are a dog friendly hotel, even when I am at work I am still providing and caring for dogs. At home I take care of 3 dogs, a young puppy a middle child and a senior dog who requires extra attention. she takes regular medication which I administer and monitor. she recently had a large swelling in her face, a cyst of sorts which meant the use of other specialist antibiotics and ointments had to be used. Growing up I have never been without dogs and have lots of experience taking care of them. I am very active with them with regular walks. I love spending time with dogs and would like to have the opportunity to have this companionship along my travels. I will not be working in the time of house sitting arrangements so I will have plenty of time to spend with your pets should they be used to/need a lot of attention. we have a resident cat at the hotel as well which I am responsible for too. Wren has a Ph.D. in ecology and worked as a research ecologist before working in the Department of Conservation. After that, Wren worked as an environmental consultant, mostly in New Zealand, and can now indulge his passion for nature photography. Jan had a successful career as a primary school teacher in Christchurch and Auckland, and also in real estate. She loves gardening and community work as well as keeping in touch with family and friends. I’m a retired pet lover but because I often go to Auckland to visit family I can’t have a pet of my own. Because I am often in Auckland I could possibly be available for in person interviews for Auckland sits. I grew up in Auckland but have lived in Opotiki for 18 years and love it here. I don’t live in the township but in the very small beach suburb of Tirohanga, only one house back from the beach. There are 30 houses/baches and about half of them are holiday homes. Of the other half at least 40% are occupied by retired people. Lots of them have pets and I fill my animal craving by frequently visiting them. I’m even lucky enough to have a nearly daily visit from my neighbours cat, “Smoke” I can’t see the beach but at night I can hear the waves crashing. I’m physically fit and as I live near a beautiful beach I walk on the beach or cycle track daily. I do 20 to 40 minutes with the occasional 60 minutes thrown in for good luck. I love to read and play board or card games, especially word games. I’m enjoying my retirement but feel like I need to stretch myself a little and house sitting will do that. I’m a gregarious but also very happy with my own company as long as I have a book to read! I’m definitely conscious and reliable as my references will concur. Cam and I(Meg) are long term renters and through working seasonally we have lived in multiple peoples personal homes (i.e. not strictly rental properties) while they have relocated elsewhere for the respective season. Through these living arrangements we have felt fortunate to have a close relationship with the homeowners, which for us, creates a deeper respect of the property and the things living on it (some previous examples include many plants and a cat). As a house sitter you can expect us to care for your space like it is our own, to the standards you expect. If you have animals or plant friends that need to be cared for you can trust that they will be in good hands. I am a very fit and active retiree. I left the workforce eight years ago to travel to various parts of the world, including some of NZ which I hadn’t yet been to. I have been involved in sport all my life and interested in organics and sustainabilities for many years, so decided to become a Woofer (Willing Worker On Organic Farms). I have thoroughly enjoyed all my placements in NZ, Australia, USA and Portugal. I have visited places and met people that I would never had the chance as a tourist and learnt about growing fruits, vegetables and raising animals in an totally organic and sustainable manner. I have looked after many animals and learnt how to give back to the land for future harvests. Six years ago in 2018 I bought a lifestyle property in the Far North, so have not been able to travel as much, or house sit as I used to, while working hard on my land. Now however I have more spare time, & look forward to being able to travel in NZ. I currently work on my orchard of 100+ trees of every description imaginable, & 4 large vegetable plots. I farm totally organically, eat in season, & am self sufficient(++) with fruit, vegetables & eggs from my 5 chickens. I am able to swap my excesses for milk, meat, cheese & bread! I feel very fortunate. I also have extra acreage which I use for growing grass, (local farmer makes hay in summer). I have also done two caminos (long walks) in both France, and Portugal into Spain. These were 750 and 700km respectively, in 2014 & 2017. My most recent was from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. I have been a proud homeowner since 1980. As a house sitter, you will have someone with old fashion values of care & respect for your property, a good work ethic, totally reliable & honest. As for pets, when my children were growing up, we had a Staffordshire bull terrier, rabbits, cats, cockatiel and baby goats. Currently I have 5 chickens. While woofing I have looked after lots of dogs, cats, goats (learnt to milk), chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, and loved all those times. My woofing hosts would sometimes leave me to house sit at weekends, or in one case, for 10 days when an unavoidable event happened. On that occasion I looked after a small farmlet of goats, cows chickens, vegetable garden, orchard....the entire property. I loved the challenge and was totally equal to the task of overall management. I love outdoors work. Obviously I enjoy walking, so dogs love me for their twice daily long walks. We are both writers, working in the tourism sector, and we met in beautiful Bali where we have been living since 1998 and 2006. We have travelled extensively in Indonesia, including trips to some of the country's remotest corners. We have been together for 15 years, we got married in New Zealand in 2021, and we are now living our dream dividing our time between Bali and New Zealand with a little bit of England and Europe thrown in along the way. We spend five months in Bali each year, one month in Europe and the UK, and six months in New Zealand from December to June. We invite guests to stay in our house in Bali and do home exchanges when we are in New Zealand and Europe, hence us looking for some more places to stay in New Zealand. We are both animal lovers, having rescued numerous cats and dogs off the streets in Bali over the many years that we have lived here. They all became much loved members of our respective households until our last cat and finally our last dog crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago. We miss them terribly but when we made the lifestyle change to divide our time between Bali and New Zealand, we made the decision not to get any more pets. However, our love and respect for animals has not diminished and that is why we look forward to looking after other people's pets. We both work from home so will be around nearly all day every day to give your animals all the love and attention they need. With more free time at our disposal house sitting becomes an attractive way to be useful to others as well as offering new experiences for us. We have travelled internationally for both business and family overseas, as well as extensively throughout New Zealand, and having lived long spells in Wellington, Auckland and now retired to Bay of Plenty. With the family overseas, often our time away has been for up to 3 months, and on those occasions we have had friends and others staying at our home. We know what it is like to make your home available to others who you are familiar with and some who you are not but still have that small apprehension about whether it will be ok. We know how you are feeling making this commitment. We have been long term dog and cat owners, and currently regularly play house parents to a friend's dog. Walking and appropriate exercise is not a problem. Other friends also call on us to house sit and mind their precious moggy, often for longer periods. With golf being a sport that we both enjoy, the opportunity to play courses in your region is an added appeal for house sitting. but also assures you that we are fit and able to walk as far as your pets need. We are a healthy and fit couple in our late 60s (non-smokers), originally from The Netherlands, who have sold our home last year. Currently we are waiting for our new apartment in Northcote (Auckland) to be completed (expected settlement early 2025) and looking after other people’s houses has proven to be a great way to bridge that period and to have a change of scenery after we’ve moved into our new apartment. We have quite a number very successful house sits already and loved the experience. We ran a Homestay/B&B in Wellington for more than 6 years, so we are experienced with looking after accommodation and we know the importance of keeping a house clean, tidy and well presented! We have always taken pride in our house, which was very obvious when the real estate agent who sold our current house remarked that she wished everybody’s house looked like this. Jos is retired, while Lucien still works full-time as a software developer from home, so at least one of us will always be there to keep your dog company. A fast and reliable internet connection is the only ‘must’. We have had dogs and cats ourselves - Golden Retrievers for many years, and a sweet little Cavoodle for the last 12 years (who sadly passed away last year) - and we have been looking after cats, dogs, houses and the occasional chicken for months now, so we know how to care for animals, and are happy to care for yours. We usually stay in air bnbs, but house sitting would help us out immensely. We are home owners in Wanganui and we have also extensively used air bnbs to take our girls on mini breaks away. All our reviews from staying in different homes have been A+. We also personally keep a very tidy, organised, clean home in Wanganui. Although we don't own a lot of pets (currently two cats), we love animals! We are very caring by nature and very frequently visit friends farms in Wanganui who have a wide range of pets/farm animals which our girls love to experience. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. Our girls are also very respectful and tidy and absolutely love nothing more than 'playing house' when we go on holiday. I believe this would be replicated if we were to house sit. We often have to baby sit our furry grandchildren that is a Labradoodle called Whiskey and a Ragdoll cat called Willow. We realise that we will have to leave them home while we are on our adventure. We understand that the needs of dogs and cats are different but the common factor is love, attention and feeding. We are happy to take the animals for a walk when and as it is accustomed to as much as we are able too. We love wild birds and had a water bowl and feeding tray in the garden. Looked after a bunny and some hamsters of a neighbour. We are not scared of farm animals, have rented a property many years ago where we had to make sure there was water in the throughs and kept an eye on the animals in the paddocks surrounding our home. We hope we can meet soon to make it possible for you to go away with a peaceful heart.

We lived and worked in Christchurch for 22 years, before moving to Papamoa 9 years ago. We have owned our own home for most of our 49 years of marriage, and have always taken pride in keeping both house and garden tidy and well maintained. We are genuine animal lovers and have had our own pets, mostly dogs, for all of that time. As our sons were growing up, our household pets also included a cockatiel, a black-hooded rat, and 2 goldfish! We have also frequently looked after a neighbour's diabetic cat, including giving daily insulin injections. As we are retired, we have more time to devote to your pets and your home. After our last elderly dog passed away 7 years ago, we really missed having a dog in our home, so became approved volunteer puppy boarders for Blind/Low Vision puppies, and are still enjoying providing this service. Allan's parents were dairy farmers, and he loved farm life. He is an enthusiastic golfer and gardener, a Justice of the Peace, and volunteers for the Papamoa Community patrol. Jenny is also a keen gardener, enjoys both an exercise/social group and a craft group, volunteers regularly at Good Neighbour Food Rescue, and loves being involved with a Music and Movement group for preschoolers and their Mums. We both belong to Probus, and are also rostered on for several roles at our church. As we have friends and family in Christchurch and various parts of the North Island, we are excited about the prospect of house sitting when we travel to those areas, as well as when we explore new areas that we haven't yet been to. I have never been without a pet and was lucky enough to have a German Shorthaired Pointer for a little over ten years but he has sadly now passed away. I worked part time for a pet care company for a little over 6 years I absolutely loved this role as I spent my time taking doggies out for their playtimes, walks and swims and also going into people's house to care for their cats/dogs while they were away. My children and I lived on a 10 acre block in Waimauku for several years and cared for a variety of animals including cats, dogs, hens, sheep, cows, and the occasional rabbit and duck! Because of Geoff's years spent at sea his opportunities to care for pets have been limited, but in his younger years his family owned cats, dogs and budgies. Geoff and I spend the summer months,October through to April, in New Zealand, which is when we are available for house sitting. We have a yacht berthed in Penang, Malaysia, and we are there during New Zealand's winter months. Geoff has spent nearly 13 years cruising in South East Asia, and I joined him in 2012. Geoff is a shipwright and is capable of servicing a wide range of appliances, machinery etc.He served in the New Zealand navy for 8 years and after leaving he worked as a commercial diver whilst building his first yacht. After sailing for many years in the Pacific, Australia, Africa and Europe, he settled in Brisbane, where he set up his shipwright business. He then built his second yacht and set sail for South East Asia. My previous working life involved a variety of positions, including working as a supervisor in a childcare centre in Waimauku, Auckland, and then as a sterile services technician at North Shore hospital in Auckland. I have two sons who live in the Netherlands and Belgium, and 1 grandson. Because of our lifestyle on the yacht we are organised and tidy in our habits. When I was married and we bought our first house, having pets was a top priority. After 3 years we had 3 cats (Tabby, Tina and Kate) and 2 Beagles (Tony and Lucy). I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. I no longer have pets of my own so I would really love the opportunity to care for yours, either outside of Auckland when I ready for a break or in Auckland for a 'staycation' I am mature, responsible, respectful and resourceful. Kia ora, we are Rosie and Taz. We have lived in New Zealand since winter of 2022 and have been professionally housesitting for the last 18 months. Rosie's father is from NZ and Taz has extended family who emigrated here many years ago. We plan to make our long term home in New Zealand. We also have lots of experience housesitting for friends and family be it an overnight stay or multiple weeks of sitting. We started housesitting as an option from living and travelling in our van around NZ but now have our own home in rural Kerikeri. We find bonding with animals is often very easy and natural. Hank is now 10 and thriving! We understand housesit-ees with rescue pets may have more concerns due to their pets rescue 'quirks' but want them to know we are very familiar with this territory. Patience and consistency are so important and we are happy to take on the routines needed so your pet is at their best while you are gone. I have done a lot of housing sitting over the years and have cared for and feed many animals. Auckland for 3 months looking after dogs and cats. Farm animals or feeding chickens, which is no problem as I am a country girl at heart. I have had looked after 3 large dogs. One that required monitored medication daily and exercise. I have also had to feed unwell cats medicine etc and have no problem caring for your pets no matter what there needs. I enjoy the company of animals especially since I am away from home so much. I love all animals and especially their little characters. Whilst I am at home during the summer months, I used to host overseas students that come to NZ to learn English. I have had many students over the years, Swiss, Thai, Arabian, Japanese, Chiian, Brazilian. Due to our current migratory situation we do not have pets and house sitting is a way we can enjoy the company of animals and explore new suburbs. We have both had dogs and cats in the past. Life is one big adventure! I like to be kept busy; I love to travel, discovering out of the way places, meeting new people & embracing life. But my family pets have always been a top priority. House sitting offers some exciting opportunities, but more specifically it will provide me with the pleasures of 'adopting' your family pets, if only for a short time. (And, I certainly miss not having my own pet to care for). There has always been a cat or dog (or both) in the house and then there have been the children's tropical fish, German rat, guinea pigs, rabbits, and birds! We've even had a couple of cats 'adopt' us! I also volunteered for 18 months at a bird rescue centre a few years ago which was a very rewarding experience. From a young age until her early 20s, I also used to spend a lot of time at my aunt & uncles farm where they had a dairy herd, goats and a chicken run. Animals have always featured in my life. I have been fortunate to have had some wonderful House & pet sitting opportunities over the past 3 years (with a global house sitting company) looking after dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and birds - most of these sits were while I was based in the UK. I'm now cutting back on my time away from NZ and, after hearing very positive comments about The Housesitting Company, have decided to join so that I can focus more on NZ sits. I'd be delighted to look after and love your family pets and I will take excellent care of your home. We are the lucky ones. We get to travel, explore new places, meet new people and look after your pets. My husband Steve and I have 4 grown up daughters, and 3 delightful grandchildren. We have worked hard in our lives, and our time to explore, travel and see our beautiful country is now. We have both been brought up on Dairy and Sheep/Beef farms. We have a small lifestyle block (12 acres) near Taupo where one of our adult children lives. We are very experienced with animals and currently have on our farm, horses, cows, a dog, chickens and a couple of cats. We have previously had beef steers and sheep, including lambing. We have a deep love of animals and both Steve and I are active relaxers, which means your dogs will get loads of walking, activities and cuddles while you are away. We are confident with large animals and will not hesitate to phone a vet in any circumstance. We will love and care for your animals (slightly obsessed with them), so you can go and enjoy travelling of your own. We are very tidy and will take great care of your home. Greetings Home and Pet Owners, Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Norman Ronald Mcfadyen. I was born and raised in Northumberland. My father and his ancestors came from the Isle of Mull, my mother’s from Northern Ireland. My accent is hard to place, as I have travelled extensively in my life and have had to learn to modify my accent over the years, to be comprehensible to others. I am a very friendly and gregarious soul, who loves the company of both people and animals. I have worked in mental health for over 30 years; initially, as a psychiatric nurse and later as a mental health clinician and therapist. I have also worked in performing arts for nearly as long, as a professional actor mainly. These days, I combine my love of theatre and education to teach others some successful strategies, to navigate the bumpy paths of life. I do a little bit of homeschool teaching and I am an instructor at the New Zealand Stage and Screen combat school in Birkenhead. I came back home to New Zealand in March 2020, after having lived back in the UK for a couple of years, looking after my father. I came back to Auckland for my son’s wedding and found myself marooned due to the Covid lockdown. My father died shortly after I arrived and therefore I have no need to go back in the UK. My life and living is very flexible as a single man of 54 years of age. I enjoy playing my ukulele and singing every day and have a successful Christmas business, portraying Father Christmas himself. I have had pets all my life, both cats and dogs, when living in my own property. Since being marooned here in 2020, I have missed them dearly. Two weeks in 2013. was in Great Barrier Island, another friend who runs a retreat center called Wai Ora set on Medlands beach, this involved, keeping an eye on solar power system, security, garden, compost and the cat! Two weeks 2014. Other times in Auckland, while a friend visited UK, collected mail, fed cat, clean house, water plants, this lasted five weeks. At present restoring a colonial house in Leigh area, caring for cats, little goats, chickens and a dog, since then work has stopped. My latest Housesit was in Western Springs for ten days, the ginger cat Lucy had a stroke so needed a lot of care. Lucy loved to sleep on the bed with me, I loved having her close. The other cat Diesel was more independent. My other duties were watering the garden and collecting the mail. Also over the Xmas new year period I went to houses with sole purpose of feeding, patting and caring for four different cats. Also specialise in turtle minding, feeding for my son and his girlfriend. I am an animal lover who is kind and considerate who will care for your pets and house with love. Hi, my name is John, I’m friendly, energetic and in my mid-40’s. Originally from West Virginia, I came to NZ 15 years ago to travel and work abroad. Hello, I have been housesitting for over 6 yrs now and have been so fortunate to have stayed in many lovely homes in the Bay of Plenty, Taupo & Auckland. The gorgeous pets I have cared for include cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, sheep, chickens, cows, and guinea pigs. I do prefer to look after cats as I work during the day (Please note: I do not work from home, I work as a temp) if you have a dog that can be left for the day that may work to. I love meeting new pets and especially love to catch up with wee friends I have cared for in the past. I absolutely adore cats and dogs, and have met some very interesting characters along the way! and I look forward to meeting many more. I grew up with a Cat and dog, and just love their company and playing with them, and don't mind at all if they snuggle up in bed. I'm also happy to administer medication and flea treatments etc. and take your wee friend to the vet if required. I can assure you that your house will be spotless on your return and I will treat it as if it were my own home, I'm quite the perfectionist. More than happy to water plants, garden etc. and really whatever else needs to be done, you only have to ask. My gardening experience is very limited & I don't mow lawns. I do like to bring my own food and other essential items for the duration of my stay. I can also provide my own bed linen and towels etc. should this be required. Greetings and kia ora. My name is Tootje, and my husband, Kazen and I immigrated to beautiful New Zealand nine years ago. Because we pretty much had to start our lives from scratch (financially speaking), we haven't had much opportunity to travel this picturesque country we now reside in. So I guess you could say, one of the reasons we'd love to do more house-sitting is to have a change of scenery, see a little more of New Zealand and spend our free time enjoying a different perspective of its beautiful cities and towns. We're currently unable to care for pets of our own, and being animal lovers, we miss that interaction with furry friends. In the past (in South Africa) we've house-sat relatively frequently for friends and family, all of which had fur children. Because we come from a country that teaches one (quite quickly in life) to be aware of one's surroundings, we're very security conscious. So looking after your home, would be like looking after our own. In fact I'd say, that's the attitude we have in general - treat other's possessions as though they are your own. And that naturally, includes your pets. I've cared for a terminally ill pet for a month, and we've consoled and reassured pets that generally don't eat when their owners are absent for a while, to do so. We've snuggled and loved pets that just needed to feel at home and comfortable in their surroundings when mum, dad and kids stepped away for a few days, and generally just needed people to meet their basic, and not so basic needs. If you were to ask our friends and family what we were like as house-sitters, they'd say things like, "they always left the house cleaner than they found it". They were reliable, trustworthy, dependable, honest, respectful and never left the house during the duration of their stay, barring having to pop down to the shops for groceries. If you feel like we'd be a suitable fit, in terms of what you require as home and pet owners, we'd love to care for and secure your abode and cherished pets, whilst you're away from them. We are retired and are fit and young at heart. We have been house sitting for the last three years, both in New Zealand and Australia. We are super tidy, especially my wife! and we love pets. Until we traveled abroad for career purposes, we always had pets and dog for the family. When the children were little we had a pooch, black and fluffy for about 14 years, growing up they had the company of a black Labrador. Coming to Fiji we looked after our friends dog for 2 years, a large doberman, one that would lick you to death! And just lately again to help out friends going overseas for 12 months a beautiful German Sheppard and the cat, both couldn't live without the other, and together they provided most of the entertainment! I love walking, and it just isn't the same without a best friend. We know pets love routine, and we will enjoy to fit in with your regular way of looking after them. We are used to having pets, enjoy spending time with pets, and understand their needs of companionship. We have six children, all grown up with their own family. Having had a significant overseas and New Zealand based career, we have had the benefit of high end company homes to live in. References on how we looked after these homes are readily available. Kia Ora! We’re Emma and Elias, twins on tour through New Zealand with a working holiday visa, eager to explore the country and its people. Whilst looking for an accommodation we’ve stumbled upon house/pet sitting, which seemed perfect to us both. Both of us adore pets and animals in general and even though we only have fish at home;), both of us have plenty of experience, especially with dogs. I, Emma, did a school exchange in 2020 and lived in a family with 3 dogs (a husky and 2 adopted strays). I took care of them every day of the year, taking all three of them on long walks through the beautiful nature of Andalusia and still, almost three years later, I miss them dearly. I also made a habit out of going to the local Dog-Rescue-Center, taking little pups without a home on walks along the beach. I, Elias, have a close friend with 3 young australian shepherds. Back in Germany I joined them for a walk every day over the last year and cared for them whenever the family was away. I’ve helped educating them since the age of 12 weeks and went through all stages of adolescence with the little rascals. All three of them have a special place in my heart and they will be my first stop when this travel experience comes to an end. Even though both of us have more experience taking care of dogs, we have helped friends and family with cats whenever we had the chance to. If you choose us as sitters you can expect two young, responsible adults to take care of both your home and your animal/s with lots of love and passion. Both non smokers, enjoy clean living with clean criminal international and local records. We met in Malaysia while working as volunteers with cats and dogs for SPCA in early 2015. After that we did a period of volunteers with tigers in Thailand. Highlight of our lives. Great experience to be so close and intimate with a wild animals. Few scars but lived to tell all the tales. After we worked with them, cats and dogs are so easy. Next, hoping to spend some time with elephants. We have done home sitting in NZ as well as offshore in Europe and China as well as a 4 week stay in Malaysia. Although we like to travel, live clean and appreciate clean houses so your home will be looked after. Although not fantastic green fingers, we will happily mow your grass and pull a few weeds as required. As we both still work part time, appreciate wi-fi so we can still receive emails etc. Sky is not important cause we rather be outside enjoying open air as against watching TV. Also since 2017, a volunteer firefighter originally with Otorohanga but would consider helping any local volunteer brigade. Rem has in the past also looked after NZ Police dogs while their handler has gone on holiday so the average dog should be relatively easy. Happy to walk the dogs and where possible, take them to the beach if possible. Hopefully have secure parking for the BMW as well? Since Feb 2017 we have lived in Otorohanga and have looked after various local and surrounding properties. A 550 acre grazing farm and a very upmarket lifestyle house. Although it’s been fun here, we are ready for another area from now on. Long term housesits preferred but will consider short options as well. Yuling now lives in Wellington full time while Rem commutes.

I am now working on a NZ Government (MFAT) international aid & development programme since November 2020 that covers 12 countries across the Pacific. I recently retired after 30 years owning and operating a successful film company in Auckland. I specialised in filming pet food TV commercials where I developed a knack for patience and perseverance to relax animals in order to get those magic natural shots that pet owners love. I worked closely with Mark Vette and Flip Calkoen over many years to develop this special relationship. Everyone's pets are different and require careful handling, especially when their owners are away for a week or two. I try to create a seamless transition to avoid any unnecessary disruption to their routine. I have owned quite a few interesting dogs over the years including a cocker spaniel, a doberman, blue healer and a border collie black lab x, plus several lovely cats. I am a 70 year old single male with 3 adult children and 5 grand children. I lead a fit and healthy lifestyle. I have always had a cat and dog as I believe they add something unique to our lives - especially with a young family. I am also very 'house proud' and a home handyman which comes in handy when little things go wrong. As you leave your home is how you will find it when you return. I have recently house sat for a number of people with pets and loved it. I believe that trust is paramount when you are caring for someone's home and pets.When I take on this responsibility I do so with total commitment. Plus I have always had a very caring nature when it comes to animals which puts them at ease. I have a large station wagon perfect for transporting wet dogs to and from their favourite beach or park. My home is now in the Hawke's Bay where I have property investments, but I travel up to Auckland most months to visit my family, so house sitting in Auckland gives me the opportunity to be closer to them for longer periods. I am a friendly, caring person who very much enjoys looking after homes and pets for people while they are away. I have been home and pet sitting for many years and have proven to be very responsible and security conscious. Friends and strangers alike call me for repeat house sits and I am only too happy to assist. I look after pets and homes as if they were my own. I have always lived in Auckland and know the city well, from home sitting in many and diverse suburbs of this beautiful city. I love animals and have had a variety of pets including dogs, cats, fish and birds including chickens, so I understand how hard it can be when you have to leave them with strangers. I used to regularly look after a landlady's pets including a Shitzu, 3 cats, a parrot, a cockatiel and a canary, and I used to run my own cleaning business, so you will come back to a house at least as clean as I found it. My background is in nursing so I am used to administering medication, including insulin, to people and would be willing to learn to administer it to pets if required. In my current business as a freelance Proofreader and Editor and Life Coach, all I need is a WiFi connection and I can work from anywhere, which means that your pets will be seeing a lot of me, so more cuddles and exercise for everyone, and more security for your home and for your peace of mind. Previously I worked for nursing and care agencies which involved working in residential homes caring for people, frequently in new environments, so I am used to being able to quickly assess my surroundings and situations and deal with the unexpected when necessary. Every job I have had has required a police check due to the nature of my profession so rest assured that I am responsible and trustworthy. I retired and was also widowed in 2020, and have recently relocated from Christchurch to Auckland to be closer to family, so I have plenty of spare time on my hands and am available at fairly short notice. My reason for housesitting in the Auckland/Gisborne area is to be able to develop connections for a charity I founded in Romania in 2001. I have committed the next 2 years to being in a more 'hands-on' role though from afar. This means being available for speaking engagements etc. Because I work remotely this allows me to be flexible. We have a flexible timeline and a vehicle. ...a little about us. I am a NZ'er and a retired educator. Peter is canadian and a retired computer engineer. Our home base is on a small island in western Canada. We are homeowners and fully understand the housesitting social contract and responsibilities. We currently have trustworthy housesitters in our home while we are away. Peter and I, make a great housesitting team. I take the lead with the animal and home care, Peter supports me by playing with the pets and cuddle time. He also leads our dog walking explorations into nature. As our three children grew, our home was full of much loved animals. We had two family cats and two family dogs. Oliver, the cat was much loved in the neighbourhood. During the day he would sit by the gate, greet people, and beg for a pat. During the evening, when he was not snuggled up next to the dog, or swatting her tail, he would find a lap and stay there purring. He stayed in our family for 20 years. Lassie, a border collie/lab/husky cross is perhaps the most acclaimed of all our family pets. Our children still talk of her with great love. We adopted her when she was two years old. She 'heeled' with the click of a finger and kept guard over our children when they were young. She was the most amazing and lovable dog - her photo has an honoured place in our home. In the past, we have cared for cats, dogs, sheep, pigs, bees, chickens, ducks, fischers parrot, rabbits, and hamsters. The key in caring for pets is to have established expectations: food and exercise routines/cuddle times and ensure that animals have ample fresh water everyday. We love all animals and plants and can turn my hand to most tasks involved in caring for them. Also, I might add that I enjoy exploring regenerative agriculture concepts. I am a founding director of School Orchards Africa Society, in Tanzania. Having built our home and hobby farm, Peter is familiar with most house systems, on and off grid. He is a good guitar player. After selling our home and returning from the UK in 2021, we decided to travel around our stunning country while we work remotely and haven't looked back since. We absolutely love animals and enjoyed house sitting so much back in the UK, even after we bought our own home, that we decided to make it a permanent part of our new life back in NZ. With us you'll be getting a professional level service with a friendly, reliable and personable approach. Please note we're only interested in sits 3 weeks or longer & without dogs so we can make the most of exploring the area and community. House sitting is a great chance to enjoy a variety of communities and within a week of starting our first NZ house sit we've been booked up for the majority of 2022, 2023 and even 2024. We're very experienced, never pulled out of a sit, and have great references and police checks available so you can have confidence that you're in good hands. We've looked after various property types before, anything from multi-story homes with gardens and pools, apartments or a secluded colonial era bed and breakfast, all the way to rural lifestyle blocks with farm animals and living partially off grid. Since returning to NZ our speciality has certainly been rural lifestyle blocks as we love the peace and quiet of the countryside and exploring nature. We're extremely well organised, tidy, honest, flexible and caring. You can expect to return to your home as clean as you left it, if not cleaner, and with very happy pets. We've never pulled out of a sit as we're extremely reliable and the last thing we'd want is for you to have an issue because of us before you go on holiday. Experienced in garden and lawn care, spa and pool maintenance, rain and bore water tank system monitoring, ant prevention and setting pest control traps. As previous homeowners, we have enough common sense to know when to tackle any maintenance issues which may arise and when to request advice. We're also happy to do turnover service if you operate an active Air BnB on your property. We'll require a reliable unlimited internet connection (as we work remotely) and off street parking for our car. As non-smokers we're not interested in any sits where you normally smoke/vape indoors.

Hi there, We are Adam and Eszter, a friendly couple in our late 30s. We are originally from Hungary, but have been living in New Zealand for more than 6 years. We are NZ citizens. I, Adam, grew up on a lifestyle farm on the countryside, where I had the chance of playing with and taking care of many types of animals mainly cats, dogs, chickens, ducks and pigs. Roman grew up on a farm in Czech Republic, and so has experience in caring for animals, including: cats, dogs, sheep, cows, pigs, horses and pigeons. Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to read our profile. Our names are Charlotte (Lottie) Jepson and James O'Hern, we're both 30 years old and originally from the UK. We've been in New Zealand for over 3 years and we're looking to make this wonderful country our home. We've fallen in love with the place and see ourselves living here long term. The reason for house sitting at the moment is because we've been travelling regularly between the UK and NZ in the last 12 months. Due to the shorter stints in NZ, usually 8-12 weeks at a time, getting a lease on a house for short periods is challenging and we'd prefer to spend time with friends, camping or housesitting which offers more variety and flexibility for us. Our interests are hiking, camping, cycling, surfing, reading, cooking and travelling overseas - almost anything outdoorsy. Between us we've had a several pets of our own, completed a number of housesits, and regularly look after relatives pets, so we have a lot of experience looking after animals and making sure they're well fed, cleaned, walked, loved and rested - plus we all keep each other company which is just as important. We're both able to work remotely, so we're always able to stay at home for long periods of the day to look after pets. If you choose us to look after your pet(s) and home, they will be in safe hands. We're a clean and organised so we can stay on top of managing the house will make sure things get done on time. We're also aware that regular updates and good communication will help you enjoy your time away.
