Sue and I are newly semi-retired being 59 and 60 respectively. We are active and healthy. Our 5 children have left home. In July we are returning after 5 years working in Bangkok at an international school. Before we left NZ we sold our home and did 3 house sits before leaving the country. They all went very well. Upon arriving back we will be house sitting, with current bookings, from mid-July until early January. From that point on we are looking to add future house sits. We have lived in and cared for our own home, property and pets for many, many years and as such believe we would be ideal candidates to look after someone else's home. With more free time at our disposal house sitting becomes an attractive way to be useful to others as well as offering new experiences for us. We have travelled internationally for both business and family overseas, as well as extensively throughout New Zealand, and having lived long spells in Wellington, Auckland and now retired to Bay of Plenty. With the family overseas, often our time away has been for up to 3 months, and on those occasions we have had friends and others staying at our home. We know what it is like to make your home available to others who you are familiar with and some who you are not but still have that small apprehension about whether it will be ok. We know how you are feeling making this commitment. We have been long term dog and cat owners, and currently regularly play house parents to a friend's dog. Walking and appropriate exercise is not a problem. Other friends also call on us to house sit and mind their precious moggy, often for longer periods. With golf being a sport that we both enjoy, the opportunity to play courses in your region is an added appeal for house sitting. but also assures you that we are fit and able to walk as far as your pets need. Choosing us to look after your house and pets will give maximum assurance that all will be well cared for, and treated as if they were our own. I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. We are a family of 4+1 - Mum, Dad, 2x daughters aged 16 and18 years (our 18 yo will most likely not join us). We would like to have a holiday with the comforts of home including a pet to come home to. We have a Mini Schnauzer named Ollie who is 3 years old. We walk him daily on the beach or park and socialise him with other dogs as much as possible. My sister also has a Mini Schnauzer x Lowchen so they would dogsit for us while we are away. We love dogs and cats and would treat them like we do our own. Buddy the Cavachon and Benji the Bergamasco 4x on a yearly basis, we house sat whilst owners went on holiday. Otis the smooth haired Daschund (whom I think would look good in a top hat and an eyeglass!) and Baxter the Pomeranian who has one eye. We loved taking these two for a walk at their countryside abode; they made us laugh, as they ran and pounced through the grass, competing against one another, Honey the Labrador and Rocky a Chihuahua (Smooth Coat) whenever needed. I arrived in back NZ early 2022 after spending 19 years in Canada. My husband passed away in 2021. Quite the battle to get into MIQ to return home, with the lotto draw they installed !!! I house sat before leaving for Canada in Omokoroa and Mount Maunganui. One was an Avocado Orchard and they had 70 Parrots in aviaries on the property, such fun. I have been the proud owner of 5 rescue Old English Sheepdogs.. not all at the same time !!!! so I know about grooming. My last dog Boomer was 116lbs, (52.5kg) a big strong boy and the light of our lives. In 2020 we started to foster dogs brought up from Texas from the "high kill" pounds. Copper was our first, A Walker Coon Hound... never heard of them before and what a delight with his howl. I will leave your home as you left it though I do enjoy gardening and cleaning windows... My hobbies are reading, walking, knitting and TV..... I am a friendly person. get on with most people, I am the listener not the talker... We put our house up for rent and the three of us left in September 2024 to take the trip of our lives, to leave for 10 months around Asia and Oceania. After traveling through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and New Caledonia, we will arrive in New Zealand at the beginning of March! We want to be itinerant until the beginning of May, about 2 months in a van. We are therefore looking for pet sitting/house sitting missions for about 3 weeks from the beginning of May to the end of May, we are flexible for the dates end of April-mid May :) We see this experience as a global immersion in a local life with the little extra thing of being able to take care of animals. We have always had in our lives the presence of animals (cat, dog, rabbit, chicken, tortoise) we also have experience for animals with particularities (deafness from birth for our dog for example adapted with sign language) or if there is care to be done or treatment to be given with chronic diseases. Walks, games and cuddle sessions will be the daily life of your animals by our side We have owned our house with garden for many years, we have also been Airbnb hosts, carrying out interior/exterior maintenance is therefore not a problem. The right choice for farms and lifestyle blocks, I come from an extensive farming background and bring to each property sound knowledge pertaining to animal health, water supply, strip grazing, electric fencing, effluent control etc. I have been minding properties since 2005. I began house sitting on a casual basis but since 2016 I’ve been doing it full-time, apart from a few interruptions from 2020 to 2022 due to Covid restrictions. I love the house sitting lifestyle and the regular change of scenery it offers. Not only that, but I get a lot of satisfaction in knowing that I’m providing a valuable community service, because the homeowners get to go away reassured that their pets are living relaxed and safe in their own homes instead of dodgy kennels and catteries, and also that their houses are being watched over and safeguarded from the crims. I have over 20 years of full-time dairy farming behind me, 14 of those years in sole charge management of dairy farms, so I’m the ideal minder for house sitting/farm sitting/relief milking combos. I have also worked with sheep, goats, and drystock cattle. On past house-sits and farm-sits I have looked after a wide variety of animal and bird life including cats, dogs, deer, cattle, sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, alpacas, rabbits, chooks, ducks, turkeys, doves, and frogs. I’m particularly fond of cats – you won’t find a better cat sitter. I’m a non-smoker and a quiet individual who is not into boozing, parties, and noise. I’m also a confessed homebody who prefers pottering around the property as opposed to galavanting about the countryside, so the homes and animals in my care are under constant watch. Clean, trustworthy, tidy, practical, adaptable, and with a good ounce of common sense, initiative and No.8 wire mindset. No task is too big or small. I bring to every house sit a professional attitude and a quiet and calming disposition that soon wins over the most timid of pets. I enjoy what I do and I take a lot of pride in my work. During my stay at your place, I will be in regular contact with updates along with photos and video clips of your pets so you can be assured they’re getting well looked after, if not a little spoiled. I cover all my own groceries, gas, and I have my own transport, complimented with a clean driver licence. Under my contents insurance I’m covered for legal liability in case of any accidental damage. In all my years of house sitting, I have never had to use that insurance. Nevertheless it’s there – for peace of mind for both parties. I also have two rental houses of my own. I thus know what it’s like to hand the keys over to other people, and trusting them to look after your property while they’re living there. My preferred locations are rural and coastal properties, though I do enjoy the occasional suburban assignment for a change. I don’t charge a cent to look after houses, pets, or lifestyle blocks. I never have and I never will. For me, house sitting is all about the lifestyle. My ‘payment’ comes in the form of free accommodation, free use of the utilities, and free access to the vegetable garden and orchard. I can’t justify charging fees on top of all that. The only times I would invoice the home owners is if I’m looking after a commercial business of theirs, such as a Bed & Breakfast, orchard, or working farm, or if I’m undertaking some ‘improvement’ projects for them, such as painting the wooden deck or planting new trees – things like that. With over 19 years experience under my belt, there’s very little about house sitting I don’t know. It's only relatively recently that I joined the House Sitting Company, but I have loads of verifiable references, with nearly 60 reviews on another house sitting website. We are the lucky ones. We get to travel, explore new places, meet new people and look after your pets. My husband Steve and I have 4 grown up daughters, and 3 delightful grandchildren. We have worked hard in our lives, and our time to explore, travel and see our beautiful country is now. We have both been brought up on Dairy and Sheep/Beef farms. We have a small lifestyle block (12 acres) near Taupo where one of our adult children lives. We are very experienced with animals and currently have on our farm, horses, cows, a dog, chickens and a couple of cats. We have previously had beef steers and sheep, including lambing. We have a deep love of animals and both Steve and I are active relaxers, which means your dogs will get loads of walking, activities and cuddles while you are away. We are confident with large animals and will not hesitate to phone a vet in any circumstance. We will love and care for your animals (slightly obsessed with them), so you can go and enjoy travelling of your own. We are very tidy and will take great care of your home. Warm greetings, my name is Kirsty and I am wife to Richard and Mum to two lovely daughters who are 9 and 5. We are ex Aucklanders who moved to Wanganui in 2019. I am a full time Mum (with a background in Event Management), my husband owns his own building company. We are a Christian family who love music, theatre, nature/outdoors, singing, reading, animals and travelling. Our reasons for wanting to house sit are two fold. 1) For opportunities to stay in Auckland for longer term visits to see our family who we really miss and 2) We absolutely love exploring our beautiful country, but as living costs increase it's becoming harder and harder to have holidays away. We usually stay in air bnbs, but house sitting would help us out immensely. We are home owners in Wanganui and we have also extensively used air bnbs to take our girls on mini breaks away. All our reviews from staying in different homes have been A+. We also personally keep a very tidy, organised, clean home in Wanganui. Although we don't own a lot of pets (currently two cats), we love animals! We are very caring by nature and very frequently visit friends farms in Wanganui who have a wide range of pets/farm animals which our girls love to experience. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. Our girls are also very respectful and tidy and absolutely love nothing more than 'playing house' when we go on holiday. I believe this would be replicated if we were to house sit. I live in the Hauraki area (Paeroa) and I like walking, gardening, food, being with friends and family, having pets as good company and am a champion for SPCA and WAP as animals need our help as well. I was raised on a dairy farm, lots of animals and pets while growing up and I live on a dairy farm at the moment, have been house sitting for my ex-colleagues as well for the last few years This included cats, dogs, sheep, cattle, chooks and an eel (enjoyed that). Hi our names are Maryna and Neil, We are a retired couple and feel it is our time to discover the rest of New Zealand and while doing that, do what we enjoy and that is looking after peoples pets and a little gardening while we at it. We immigrated here 18 years ago and have been living in the Catlins ever since so love to explore . As we do not have animals of our own (not by choice) this will also give us a great opportunity to enjoy other people's pets while we are on breaks. We are reliable and trustworthy and are managing a holiday park in the Catlins. This is a 24/7 entity and being in hospitality means we know what is expected from cleanliness and client communication. Neil is a handyman and extremely keen garderner so finds himself very busy most of the time. We both are pet lovers and with previous housesitting experience in London, South Africa and in the Catlins, we have done a lot of dog walking, cuddling cats and even looked after pigs, horses and chickens. We both love fishing and used to take our doggies with us (back in South Africa) so they could have a good run around, and when given the chance they would steal some of our catch! Hi there, My name is Jeanette and I am 67 years old. I have been temping (well for the last 7 years) since selling my house . So I sold it and am currently house sit. In 2017 I had to put my 15 yr old labrador down and am holding off getting another dog until I have a permanent home again. However I miss having animals to come home to and love gardening so felt that house sitting would enable me to fill both of these passions. Housesitting will also enable me to save money while I am on a reduced income to build up my reserves. I was raised in Christchurch, Lower Hutt and Dunedin before returning to Christchurch at the end of my school years. I had guinea pigs and budgies as pets and a dog as I got older. More recently I have had a black Labrador whom I had to have put down last September at the grand old age of 15. I have also owned horses and have worked with sheep and cattle in my career in animal health. I am a responsible and respectful person who wants to help out families by looking after their property and pets while they are away. I am also very friendly and trustworthy and your pets will enjoy my company just as much as I will enjoy theirs. Hello House and Pet Owner. I am a recently retired lady who has plenty time now to care for your home and pets. Growing up on a dairy farm saw me having cats, dogs, chickens, cows, a horse, alpacas. Recently my 15 coloured sheep and their new lambs have been sold. Caring for others (humans and animals) is what I do best.. Until his recent death I cared for my 86 yr old family friend who had health problems. This enabled him to remain living in his own home. I supported him with his pet dog care, shopping, finances, house work, gardening and companionship for the last 10 years on a regular basis. I’m a tidy, quiet, non drinker, non smoker vegan and very reliable. Hobbies are reading, walking, cycling, travel and gardening. We are a professional couple taking time out from work to travel and spend time with family. We are 58 and 59-years-old, have been married for 39 years and have three grown up children. We have over 15 years experience caring for and loving pets whilst their Mum and Dad are away. Over these years we have been in lots of different house/pet-sitting situations. One of our first pet sits was for a gorgeous old Collie dog who had diabetes and needed daily injections. He also had two sisters who were cats and we looked after them all for many years. We started house sitting over ten years ago as a friend had 7 cats and was travelling for five months. We have cared for these cats over many years since. During this time, we have had to give medication, visit the vet and as the years progressed look after their personal care needs much more. We have also sat for three dogs for many years; a black Labrador, Chihuahua and a Border Terrier. We are both extremely, kind, loving and practical and have ensured that pets are cared for in the same way we care for our own pets. We treat your babies the same way as we treat our own, giving them our time and immense affection and kindness. We are both at home all day so can give your pets all the attention they need. We love animals and have also spent some time helping look after pigs, hens and horses. I was a Trustee for a small city farm and my husband managed areas of the same farm. We are asked again and again to house sit because we are careful to keep your house beautiful and send regular pictures and updates of how happy your pets are. I always cook a meal for the returning home owner and replenish their fridge. My husband is extremely able around the house and land and people are happy to see their grounds kept well. I was an Education Consultant before retiring. I am also a keen cook and house maker. My husband has been a Social Care Manager for many years, as well as buying, renovating and selling properties. I am a very fit and active retiree. I left the workforce eight years ago to travel to various parts of the world, including some of NZ which I hadn’t yet been to. I have been involved in sport all my life and interested in organics and sustainabilities for many years, so decided to become a Woofer (Willing Worker On Organic Farms). I have thoroughly enjoyed all my placements in NZ, Australia, USA and Portugal. I have visited places and met people that I would never had the chance as a tourist and learnt about growing fruits, vegetables and raising animals in an totally organic and sustainable manner. I have looked after many animals and learnt how to give back to the land for future harvests. Six years ago in 2018 I bought a lifestyle property in the Far North, so have not been able to travel as much, or house sit as I used to, while working hard on my land. Now however I have more spare time, & look forward to being able to travel in NZ. I currently work on my orchard of 100+ trees of every description imaginable, & 4 large vegetable plots. I farm totally organically, eat in season, & am self sufficient(++) with fruit, vegetables & eggs from my 5 chickens. I am able to swap my excesses for milk, meat, cheese & bread! I feel very fortunate. I also have extra acreage which I use for growing grass, (local farmer makes hay in summer). I have also done two caminos (long walks) in both France, and Portugal into Spain. These were 750 and 700km respectively, in 2014 & 2017. My most recent was from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. I have been a proud homeowner since 1980. As a house sitter, you will have someone with old fashion values of care & respect for your property, a good work ethic, totally reliable & honest. As for pets, when my children were growing up, we had a Staffordshire bull terrier, rabbits, cats, cockatiel and baby goats. Currently I have 5 chickens. While woofing I have looked after lots of dogs, cats, goats (learnt to milk), chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, and loved all those times. My woofing hosts would sometimes leave me to house sit at weekends, or in one case, for 10 days when an unavoidable event happened. On that occasion I looked after a small farmlet of goats, cows chickens, vegetable garden, orchard....the entire property. I loved the challenge and was totally equal to the task of overall management. I love outdoors work. Obviously I enjoy walking, so dogs love me for their twice daily long walks. He was very active and we walked twice a day. I volunteered for the Golden Retriever rescue for 6 years interviewing adopters, walking the goldens, and picking up very frightened golden's from shelters to bring into our rescue. I have always had a cat, the biggest love of them was 19 when he passed on. I have a 5 yr old rescue black cat. I also grew up with chooks. I am a competent horse rider and will consider looking after most animals. Would love to throw on my gum boots and head out to the paddock to cover a horse or move an animal to another paddock. I am a Scottish country dancer and like to walk, garden, read and knit. I am willing to go anywhere in NZ and would prefer a rural setting. I am looking forward to my next trip to be a Kiwi for a few months this year from early Sept 2025 - Jan 2026.

Cam and I(Meg) are long term renters and through working seasonally we have lived in multiple peoples personal homes (i.e. not strictly rental properties) while they have relocated elsewhere for the respective season. Through these living arrangements we have felt fortunate to have a close relationship with the homeowners, which for us, creates a deeper respect of the property and the things living on it (some previous examples include many plants and a cat). As a house sitter you can expect us to care for your space like it is our own, to the standards you expect. Now is a time in our lives when we are fit and well and able to enjoy visiting other places. Housesitting gives us an opportunity to care for the homes and pets of the owners while they take a break, secure in the knowledge that their property and pets are being well looked after. We enjoy table tennis, reading and walking. We both love pets and have always had a cat. I had hens and a fox terrier as a girl. Ken and I downsized our home in Christchurch in 2014. Sadly, our beloved cat Rosie passed away and we decided not to get another pet. Now we enjoy other peoples pets as often as we can. To me they are like grand children who thrive on love and attention. That's our goal, to treat your pets like our special grandchildren, ensuring you will be worry free as we care for them and your home. We are happy to water plants and do light weeding. Ken I grew up in rural Otago, Southland and Mid-Canterbury. I started my 'hands on' with animals at primary school with a pet lamb I called Topsy. However I did a lambing beat while at high school, and later mustered cattle on horseback in Southland's Hokonui Hills. Over the years I've helped out on farms vaccinating, crutching and drenching sheep and running farming camps for high schoolers. We've even farm sat, a sheep and beef property while the owners went yachting. After graduating from Lincoln University I spent time working overseas in agricultural education (Australia and Tanzania). On returning to New Zealand I was employed by Christchurch Polytech (now ARA) to teach Trade Certificate Farming, and run animal husbandry courses for lifestyle block holders. For 30 years I sold and supported farm computer software and worked with sheep and deer breeders to improve the performance of their stud stock. I’m almost fully retired now with just a bit of computer support to keep my hand in. .

Campbell and Sheridan are a quiet, active, mature couple who have retired from teaching and midwifery. In the past we have owned a small lifestyle block on which we ran dry stock, raised calves, tendered to our chickens. Our black Labrador, Luke enjoyed farm life along with his pal Smoky our cat which out lived him by reaching the grand age of 18. Presently we are pet free due to a clause we have in a crosslease agreement forbidding animals. However we frequently look after our daughters family dog Mia an anxious Labradoodle and a frisky cat called Misty. Campbell and Sheridan haven enjoyed their experiences looking after these much loved pets and would feel privileged to look after your treasured pets. We are home owners ourselves and are aware of the responsibilities of keeping your home clean and tidy. We have done, two year long teacher exchanges to the UK and Canada. I volunteer in the community and spend quite a bit of time walking, cycling, swimming and enjoying yoga. I have my own home which is easy care. I house sat for 2 years 2000-2002 minding cats and dogs and keeping the owners house up to scratch. I was often recalled when the home owners were away. I'm honest, trustworthy and reliable. I held a responsible position for 21 years as PA to a high profile NZ'er until retiring in 2021. I've travelled extensively over the years - lived in the UK for the usual two year OE in my twenties, then was seconded to Singapore for a further two years in 1998. During Covid we were limited to local travel which ticked a lot of boxes and have some very happy memories of travels round NZ, particularly the South Island. Hi my name is Jack and I'm looking for house sitting arrangements as part of a way to explore this country. Im a keen and active rugby player in England and I have worked and saved hard to travel to New Zealand for your summer. I work in a dog friendly hotel in many high responsibility roles such as, office work, resident management, general maintenance of rooms and gardening, barman and management of deliveries. A 'jack' of all trades, no pun intended! In these positions, personal hygiene is a must and something i personally take pride in. As we are a dog friendly hotel, even when I am at work I am still providing and caring for dogs. At home I take care of 3 dogs, a young puppy a middle child and a senior dog who requires extra attention. she takes regular medication which I administer and monitor. she recently had a large swelling in her face, a cyst of sorts which meant the use of other specialist antibiotics and ointments had to be used. Growing up I have never been without dogs and have lots of experience taking care of them. I am very active with them with regular walks. I love spending time with dogs and would like to have the opportunity to have this companionship along my travels. I will not be working in the time of house sitting arrangements so I will have plenty of time to spend with your pets should they be used to/need a lot of attention. we have a resident cat at the hotel as well which I am responsible for too. In terms of house care I am used to living on my own, washing, cleaning, bins, Laundry etc, so your house will be in safe hands along with your pets. Many of these people I am still in contact with. On my return to New Zealand my desire to travel remained so I continued to move around seeing more of our beautiful Aotearoa. Both David and I grew up in cities, he in Illinois and me in Massachusetts. We met in the US Navy. David and I retired as Lieutenant Commanders from the United States Navy in 1994. Our duty stations have included Adak, Alaska; Norfolk, Virginia, Pensacola, Florida; and Honolulu, Hawaii. After retiring, I started and taught a Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Class at a Hawaii High School. We then moved to Billings, Montana, where we lived from 1996 to 2001. When our youngest of two children graduated from high school, we moved to rural Montana and built a log home, where we have lived since 2001. We have1 dog (miniature poodle), and numerous outdoor cats. I have also had birds (cockatiel, parakeet, finch & canary), guinea pigs and fish as pets. David also has a knowledge of beef cattle, goats, ducks, and chickens. My hobbies include vegetable gardening, bird watching, and needlework. David's main hobby is wood working. He works part time as a ranch hand and does odd jobs such as carpentry, plumbing and repairs. He has worked at farming for local ranches and has knowledge and can repair most farm machinery. We both spent 12 years as members of the local volunteer fire department, he as chief, and me as secretary treasurer. I also ran the weekly senior meal program in our small community for 17 years. Our son is a resident of New Zealand who met his New Zealand wife in Osan Korea. They live in Dunedin where he works at the University of Otago, and she is a teacher at a local school. This will be our fifth visit to New Zealand, and we have seen a lot of the country in the previous 3 visits. My sons' children are 20, 18, and 16. They live at the University. Growing up, my family had a Samoyed dog and two cats. My father was also the local dog walker and I often walked the dogs as well. When I was married and we bought our first house, having pets was a top priority. After 3 years we had 3 cats (Tabby, Tina and Kate) and 2 Beagles (Tony and Lucy). I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. I no longer have pets of my own so I would really love the opportunity to care for yours, either outside of Auckland when I ready for a break or in Auckland for a 'staycation' I am mature, responsible, respectful and resourceful. Hello, we are Julie and Colin Brown. We retired to Manapouri. Fiordland 18 months ago. Prior to that we lived in Invercargill, when looking at retirement we decided to upgrade our family crib (bach) and move to live near our much loved Lake Manapouri. We have some spare time on our hands and decided that house sitting would be a way to get out and see more of New Zealand, to meet new people, see new places and make the most of our retirement. We had to say goodbye to our much loved 18 year old cat Connor a few months before we moved to Manapouri, so that was very sad. We have inherited quite a cats over the years, usually arriving at our home via the children and then we were left in charge. Colin has a bit of an affinity with birds, me not so much, although according to my mother our farm hens always loved me and followed me around.. We enjoy the company of dogs (nothing like a nice chat to a dog) and we both enjoy walking. We no longer have our own pet, but by looking after yours we still get to have that animal contact. Our animals of choice would be cats or dogs. We both enjoy being outdoors and Colin has a great vegetable garden and tunnel house. My garden these days is much smaller than it used to be but I still love getting out and poking around in it. We also both make use of the biking and walking trails in our area. and hope this summer we will get to make more use of the lake and get out to do some fishing. Colin is a keen whitebaiter, so definitely no house sitting for us in September or October (unless you have a stand nearby) that he can use. We would look after your home and animals as if they and it were our own. Neither of us have ever smoked, we do both socially drink wine or beer but otherwise feel we have no vices. We are clean, tidy, respectful and responsible. We would hope that you could feel secure to comfortably leave us to care for your animals and home.

I’ve been housesitting full-time for a while now, and I genuinely enjoy taking care of both homes and pets. A bit about me: I work as an Accounting Systems Consultant, which means I’m organized and detail-oriented – useful when it comes to looking after your place and pets. As a mum of two grown kids, housesitting has become my way of life, and I love helping homeowners relax while they’re away, knowing everything’s in good hands. When I’m not looking after homes, I enjoy hiking (or “walking with a view,” as I like to call it), diving into a good book, watching a movie, or working on my knitting projects. I’m open to all sorts of environments, whether it’s a bustling city, quiet suburbs, or out in the countryside. Why I love housesitting: Housesitting gives me the chance to help people out and meet great new furry friends along the way. We are both animal lovers, but unfortunately due to our current living situation we are unable to have our own pet. Being able to housesit and look after animals would be like a holiday for us! We are both very active people who love the outdoors - being outside is our idea of fun, and being able to have a pet to take with us would make it even better. We're both very loving towards animals and should we need to stay in with the animal, we'd have no issues with that either. We're not party people, and we're more than happy spending our evenings relaxing at home, especially if we have fluffy company! We have both grown up with pets in our family homes and so we are aware of the time and commitment to look after pets, and we believe that housesitting could hopefully provide the perfect bridging gap before we get our own. We recently rescued a kitten that we found at the side of the road whilst out on run, we then fostered her for a few weeks until we could find her forever home. We're also on our local dog-walking group and have taken dogs for walks on a regular basis. We're very house proud people, so a homeowner can expect the house to be looked after and respected. We like to keep our house tidy and would very much do the same during a housesit.

Kia Ora, we, that is Kat (44), Andy (44) and our kids Finn (9and Zoë (6) have immigrated from Germany in 2013 (both kids were born here). We now live in our own house in Rolleston/Christchurch and would be delighted to take care of your loved ones and/or look after your property while you are on holiday, so we can get to know the country and have some time off as well. So far, we have done eight house-sits (also through other housesitting websites). Our responsibilities included caring for cats, keeping the garden nice and tidy, and managing an AirBnB while the homeowners were away. While we don't have pets ourselves (except an aquarium); we do love them and like to do stuff whatever is required to keep them happy and entertained. Kat grew up on a farm, so we are 'trained' in lifestyle animals as well. The pets need to be comfortable around kids though. They, in return, are also very gentle to them. We are non-smokers and own a small house ourselves. It goes without saying, that we will take good care of your home while you are away. Having kids, we would be home most of the day and are only out for a few hours, so good for pets that require company. We look forward to getting to know you through a Skype interview and vice versa. Hi I'm Kim. I'm an environmental scientist working in sustainability for an energy company, I work fully remotely so I'm mostly home Mon - Fri. My work sometimes includes travel to locations such as Auckland, Wellington, central Nth Island and the Otago. When I do that I like to house sit as I prefer to live like a local rather than stay in hotels, it also gives me the added bonus of fur babies which I love. My husband and I live in Christchurch with our Burmese fur baby Cookie who truly rules our life in a good way. In some locations when I'm travelling for work I go into the office occasionally, ie in Auckland. We are active outdoors people, love trail running, tramping, surfing and biking. We are often trusted to house sit for friends and neighbors when they are away, and we're are experienced and happy to look after small and large animals. I have also had quite a few dogs in my life over the years, fox terriers and border collies when growing up and later in life larger dogs. At the moment we just have our cat Cookie but I doggie sit for friends quite often. As I work remotely I'm home most of the day, I like to get up early leaving time in the afternoons to get outside for exercise or exploring. If you have animals that require a bit of exercise that suits me perfectly as I like to get out for a walk / run. Vanessa grew up in Mount Maunganui and Tauranga but has more recently lived in Otago for the last 20 years. Marcel has lived in Otago most of his life. Nestled near the famed Gibb River Road, I own a 10-acre property teeming with bushland and diverse wildlife. House-sitting is something I do often in New Zealand, with stays in various Wellington suburbs like Island Bay, Evans Bay, Eastbourne, and Wainuiomata. My reputation as an Airbnb guest is positive, with excellent reviews from homeowners in both New Zealand and Australia. As I travel frequently, I am unable to have any pets of my own. However, I regularly care for two cats in Wellington, a British Blue, and my 104-year-old grandmother's cat, Jetty. In the Kimberley, I've looked after two Australian cattle dogs named Bonnie and Clyde when their owner needed to travel to Perth for medical treatments. Growing up, our family had a mischievous and much-loved Golden Retriever called Ben. Later, I had Mingus, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Rottweiler cross. Although no longer practicing, it may be of some comfort to know that I studied Animal Nursing part-time over two years (1996 - 1997), during which time I worked in two veterinary clinics before embarking on overseas travels. This was some time ago but it's worth a mention as it demonstrates an interest in animal welfare.

We have our own home in Rodney district. We are pretty much retired. Lesley is a registered nurse and Richard a freelance IT specialist doing occasional work from home. At the moment our 2 children in their twenties are in the UK. Circumstances make it necessary for us to return to the UK from May 23rd to September 12th so we will be unavailable during that period. We are pretty much home birds and are very happy to chill and read or make friends with your lovely pets. We have house sat before for a variety of pets - cats, chickens, fish, dogs - and very much enjoyed this. The main reason being that we are animal lovers and Lesley especially is feeling pet deprived at the moment since having to put down our most adored cat Ginger 18 months ago. We have taken the decision not to replace him at for the moment so she has become that annoying person that has to pet everybody's dog on the beach and talk to every cat in the street! They have an adorable fluffy black and white cat which I had great pleasure in looking after while they were away. I have enjoyed the company of animals most of my life, mainly cats. I currently have a beautiful cat named Lucky. She is being looked after by my son and his family while I am away. We are Brad and Sophie and we have extensive pet sitting experience in both New Zealand and Australia. We are available for house sits across Aotearoa Sophie is a registered nurse who previously worked as an area manager, leading a team of 100+ nurses working in Community Child Health. Brad previously owned his own business Project Managing renovations and maintenance for commercial and residential properties We currently both work online - Sophie as a freelance writer and Brad as a trader. This means we are home through the day to provide extra love and attention for animals- particularly those who need additional care. We love animals and are experienced caring for cats & dogs, chickens & fish. We are quick learners and are happy to learn how to care for any of your larger animals. We are experienced with animals of varying need and disabilities including those with mobility issues or daily medications. We are an easy-going couple and are flexible with dates, times and sit locations. Our strengths are: -Communication - we will keep in touch as often as you prefer with photos and updates about your fur babies -Problem Solving - if something minor goes wrong with your property we will make our best effort to sort it out without disrupting your travels. Brad has worked in construction and maintenance for many years and can usually fix the problem -Empathy - we are highly empathic people which means we connect well with animals (and humans!). Your animals will naturally be disrupted by your absence. We go over and above to make this experience as positive as possible for all involved As homeowners ourselves we know how to take care of property and maintain the standard you'd expect. We always had dogs and cats when I was growing up so I'm comfortable with having them around and looking after their needs. I house-sat for some friends and their two beautiful dogs over the winter of 2018 and decided I wanted to continue doing it for others. I'm a self-employed entrepreneur and can work online from anywhere. I enjoy the variety of moving around and experiencing different places. Because I work from home I'm able to be there a lot of the time to keep an eye on things and keep your pets company. I'm tidy, self-sufficient and responsible with other people's property.
