In July we are returning after 5 years working in Bangkok at an international school. Before we left NZ we sold our home and did 3 house sits before leaving the country. They all went very well. Upon arriving back we will be house sitting, with current bookings, from mid-July until early January. From that point on we are looking to add future house sits. We have lived in and cared for our own home, property and pets for many, many years and as such believe we would be ideal candidates to look after someone else's home. I love animals. For about 20 years I lived on a lifestyle block and have previously owned sheep, pigs, cows, chickens, budgies cats and dogs. My dog passed away a couple of years ago at the ripe old age of 17 and miss having a fur baby in the house. I'm not ready to get another pet yet, so the best way to get a fur baby fix is to look after other peoples. I have house sat for friends and family looking after dogs and cats. With more free time at our disposal house sitting becomes an attractive way to be useful to others as well as offering new experiences for us. We have travelled internationally for both business and family overseas, as well as extensively throughout New Zealand, and having lived long spells in Wellington, Auckland and now retired to Bay of Plenty. With the family overseas, often our time away has been for up to 3 months, and on those occasions we have had friends and others staying at our home. We know what it is like to make your home available to others who you are familiar with and some who you are not but still have that small apprehension about whether it will be ok. We know how you are feeling making this commitment. We have been long term dog and cat owners, and currently regularly play house parents to a friend's dog. Walking and appropriate exercise is not a problem. Other friends also call on us to house sit and mind their precious moggy, often for longer periods. With golf being a sport that we both enjoy, the opportunity to play courses in your region is an added appeal for house sitting. but also assures you that we are fit and able to walk as far as your pets need. Choosing us to look after your house and pets will give maximum assurance that all will be well cared for, and treated as if they were our own. We managed the local SPCA for a year and really enjoyed helping all animals around the island even though there were some tough, sad stories as you can imagine. We decided after that to offer our pet sitting services as we couldn't see ourselves living without furry interaction. Dream job in Raro right! I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. We have been in NZ for over 12 years now. Last year we decided to do a little bit of travel and work and fell in love with the concept so decided to extend the travel bit a little longer. We are planning to come back to NZ for a few months and since we are away from our fur babies we decided to take the opportunity to house and pet sit to be close to pets, get some cuddles and give people a chance to travel like we did, knowing they can leave their home and pets with trusted people. We know how difficult it is to leave your fur babies with strangers and it would be good for you to know that my husband and I, both come from families with multiple pets (dogs and cats) so we know a fair deal about looking after them and dealing with different temperaments. Like humans, they are all unique; some shy, some friendly and some that don't know how to be around other 'hoomans'. We have dealt with various personalities in pets while looking after our own fur babies and close family friend's pets. If you were to pick us to look after your home and pets, you'd have peace of mind knowing my husband and I love animals, keeping the house tidy (I am a neat freak, and he's learnt a thing or two from me ;) ) and respecting your home. I've completed 200 hours of vet nurse work experience at 4 vastly different vet clinics (including St Luke's exotics). That's a lot of time making sure that many client's pets are a-okay! I have had pets all my life (cats, fish, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, chooks, a dog, and bees), but am currently pet-less due to some life changes. I now live just north of Auckland which means I sometimes need to seek overnight stays in the city and have built up a bit of house/cat/plant and garden-sitting experience within my friend circle. I also fostered cats of all ages for a while, many with socialisation and/or medical requirements. I speak fluent 'cat' (have been called a cat whisperer before haha) - not as fluent in 'dog' admittedly, but happy to look after well behaved dogs and generally have enormous love for all animals. So a little about us: We are a professional couple in their 50's. We are both working full-time in Auckland, but Craig does shift work so there is a lot of time that he is home when I am at work and vice versa. Prior to moving into our apartment we had both cats and dogs as our pets and these were brought up with our three kids, and we have loved interaction with animals that we have been lucky enough to get to know over the last year. If we can assist you by providing safe secure environment for your pets whilst you are not there, we would be delighted to do so. We always treat the home as if it is ours and respect the rules of the house and how you want our interaction with your house and animals to go. I (Julie) am a 5th generation Aucklander and I grew up with two dogs (lab X & mastiff/ridgeback X), four cats, budgies, chickens and even looked after our uncles pet pig! There was always a cat or two on your lap at home, with a dog asleep on your foot, a budgie on the shoulder. I love the fact that we are able to introduce our grandkids to how to treat well with animals and see them grow to love them as we do. Craig (6th generation +) hails from Wellington and now an Aucklander. He has been employed in a senior management role in the government for over 20 years here in Auckland (so I have told him that makes him an Aucklander - but he is apparently only an Aucklander, when Auckland wins in sport!)- and was brought up with smaller dogs (terriers & pugs) and cats. I specialised in filming pet food TV commercials where I developed a knack for patience and perseverance to relax animals in order to get those magic natural shots that pet owners love. I worked closely with Mark Vette and Flip Calkoen over many years to develop this special relationship. Everyone's pets are different and require careful handling, especially when their owners are away for a week or two. I try to create a seamless transition to avoid any unnecessary disruption to their routine. I have owned quite a few interesting dogs over the years including a cocker spaniel, a doberman, blue healer and a border collie black lab x, plus several lovely cats. I am a 70 year old single male with 3 adult children and 5 grand children. I lead a fit and healthy lifestyle. I have always had a cat and dog as I believe they add something unique to our lives - especially with a young family. I am also very 'house proud' and a home handyman which comes in handy when little things go wrong. As you leave your home is how you will find it when you return. I have recently house sat for a number of people with pets and loved it. I believe that trust is paramount when you are caring for someone's home and pets.When I take on this responsibility I do so with total commitment. Plus I have always had a very caring nature when it comes to animals which puts them at ease. I have a large station wagon perfect for transporting wet dogs to and from their favourite beach or park. I house sat before leaving for Canada in Omokoroa and Mount Maunganui. One was an Avocado Orchard and they had 70 Parrots in aviaries on the property, such fun. I have been the proud owner of 5 rescue Old English Sheepdogs.. not all at the same time !!!! so I know about grooming. My last dog Boomer was 116lbs, (52.5kg) a big strong boy and the light of our lives. In 2020 we started to foster dogs brought up from Texas from the "high kill" pounds. Copper was our first, A Walker Coon Hound... never heard of them before and what a delight with his howl. I will leave your home as you left it though I do enjoy gardening and cleaning windows... Having recently moved towns, I have left behind 10 garden customers, mainly older people who are no longer physically able to tend their own gardens. I have especially enjoyed all their different gardens and also getting to know them all. For 19 years I managed our 100 acre beef farm while my husband did contract work while also home educating our 4 children. During these years, while the children were still at home, we had a number if cats which we all enjoyed. There was one which we especially loved. It was a large grey cat which my son named Chouna. We put our house up for rent and the three of us left in September 2024 to take the trip of our lives, to leave for 10 months around Asia and Oceania. After traveling through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and New Caledonia, we will arrive in New Zealand at the beginning of March! We want to be itinerant until the beginning of May, about 2 months in a van. We are therefore looking for pet sitting/house sitting missions for about 3 weeks from the beginning of May to the end of May, we are flexible for the dates end of April-mid May :) We see this experience as a global immersion in a local life with the little extra thing of being able to take care of animals. We have always had in our lives the presence of animals (cat, dog, rabbit, chicken, tortoise) we also have experience for animals with particularities (deafness from birth for our dog for example adapted with sign language) or if there is care to be done or treatment to be given with chronic diseases. I’m a retired pet lover but because I often go to Auckland to visit family I can’t have a pet of my own. Because I am often in Auckland I could possibly be available for in person interviews for Auckland sits. I grew up in Auckland but have lived in Opotiki for 18 years and love it here. I don’t live in the township but in the very small beach suburb of Tirohanga, only one house back from the beach. There are 30 houses/baches and about half of them are holiday homes. Of the other half at least 40% are occupied by retired people. Lots of them have pets and I fill my animal craving by frequently visiting them. I’m even lucky enough to have a nearly daily visit from my neighbours cat, “Smoke” I can’t see the beach but at night I can hear the waves crashing. I’m physically fit and as I live near a beautiful beach I walk on the beach or cycle track daily. I do 20 to 40 minutes with the occasional 60 minutes thrown in for good luck. I love to read and play board or card games, especially word games. I’m enjoying my retirement but feel like I need to stretch myself a little and house sitting will do that. I’m a gregarious but also very happy with my own company as long as I have a book to read! I’m definitely conscious and reliable as my references will concur. I began house sitting on a casual basis but since 2016 I’ve been doing it full-time, apart from a few interruptions from 2020 to 2022 due to Covid restrictions. I love the house sitting lifestyle and the regular change of scenery it offers. Not only that, but I get a lot of satisfaction in knowing that I’m providing a valuable community service, because the homeowners get to go away reassured that their pets are living relaxed and safe in their own homes instead of dodgy kennels and catteries, and also that their houses are being watched over and safeguarded from the crims. I have over 20 years of full-time dairy farming behind me, 14 of those years in sole charge management of dairy farms, so I’m the ideal minder for house sitting/farm sitting/relief milking combos. I have also worked with sheep, goats, and drystock cattle. On past house-sits and farm-sits I have looked after a wide variety of animal and bird life including cats, dogs, deer, cattle, sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, alpacas, rabbits, chooks, ducks, turkeys, doves, and frogs. I’m particularly fond of cats – you won’t find a better cat sitter. I’m a non-smoker and a quiet individual who is not into boozing, parties, and noise. I’m also a confessed homebody who prefers pottering around the property as opposed to galavanting about the countryside, so the homes and animals in my care are under constant watch. Clean, trustworthy, tidy, practical, adaptable, and with a good ounce of common sense, initiative and No.8 wire mindset. No task is too big or small. I bring to every house sit a professional attitude and a quiet and calming disposition that soon wins over the most timid of pets. I enjoy what I do and I take a lot of pride in my work. During my stay at your place, I will be in regular contact with updates along with photos and video clips of your pets so you can be assured they’re getting well looked after, if not a little spoiled. I cover all my own groceries, gas, and I have my own transport, complimented with a clean driver licence. Under my contents insurance I’m covered for legal liability in case of any accidental damage. In all my years of house sitting, I have never had to use that insurance. Nevertheless it’s there – for peace of mind for both parties. I also have two rental houses of my own. I thus know what it’s like to hand the keys over to other people, and trusting them to look after your property while they’re living there. My preferred locations are rural and coastal properties, though I do enjoy the occasional suburban assignment for a change. I don’t charge a cent to look after houses, pets, or lifestyle blocks. I never have and I never will. For me, house sitting is all about the lifestyle. My ‘payment’ comes in the form of free accommodation, free use of the utilities, and free access to the vegetable garden and orchard. I can’t justify charging fees on top of all that. The only times I would invoice the home owners is if I’m looking after a commercial business of theirs, such as a Bed & Breakfast, orchard, or working farm, or if I’m undertaking some ‘improvement’ projects for them, such as painting the wooden deck or planting new trees – things like that. With over 19 years experience under my belt, there’s very little about house sitting I don’t know. It's only relatively recently that I joined the House Sitting Company, but I have loads of verifiable references, with nearly 60 reviews on another house sitting website. Newly retired Grew up on a farm so was used to (3)dogs from a very young age and we had a cat too. We had 150 cows a few sheep and 40 odd chocks as well. My grandmother supplied the local shop and she also keeps bees! My main interests are modern history and modern architecture and vintage engineering (cars aircraft trains and radios). Sold house in Takapuna and given away almost all my possessions. Intend to travel for the next 8 or 9 years including spending time with my wife in Melbourne. Just spending this summer 2025 here and looking at travelling in NZ, staying in campgrounds etc in my old Toyota. Have house sat for friends and relatives in the past. I'm generally adventurous, I grew up as a farmer's daughter, so I appreciate animals and the environment. I have two adult children, one nearby in New Plymouth and the other in Australia. I recently returned from Australia where I had one house-sitting position and three woofing placements. My main past times are gardening, riding my electric bike, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the years I've had numerous significant pets. My first was a calf that I cared for and trained. Because of my fondness for her, my Father kept her until I was seventeen when I went to the Waikato to qualify as a Nurse. Another pet I was particularly fond of was a canary, which sang beautifully and I called him Gusto. Unfortunately, he died during covid. More recently I had a stray cat that determinedly made herself home with me. Pets are great companions and I appreciate them very much. I began house-sitting before retirement, and have cared for cats and dogs, plus a few sheep and a donkey. These situations have been for family, friends, and acquaintances for periods of almost a week to a month.

We are the lucky ones. We get to travel, explore new places, meet new people and look after your pets. My husband Steve and I have 4 grown up daughters, and 3 delightful grandchildren. We have worked hard in our lives, and our time to explore, travel and see our beautiful country is now. We have both been brought up on Dairy and Sheep/Beef farms. We have a small lifestyle block (12 acres) near Taupo where one of our adult children lives. We are very experienced with animals and currently have on our farm, horses, cows, a dog, chickens and a couple of cats. We have previously had beef steers and sheep, including lambing. We have a deep love of animals and both Steve and I are active relaxers, which means your dogs will get loads of walking, activities and cuddles while you are away. Warm greetings, my name is Kirsty and I am wife to Richard and Mum to two lovely daughters who are 9 and 5. We are ex Aucklanders who moved to Wanganui in 2019. I am a full time Mum (with a background in Event Management), my husband owns his own building company. We are a Christian family who love music, theatre, nature/outdoors, singing, reading, animals and travelling. Our reasons for wanting to house sit are two fold. 1) For opportunities to stay in Auckland for longer term visits to see our family who we really miss and 2) We absolutely love exploring our beautiful country, but as living costs increase it's becoming harder and harder to have holidays away. We usually stay in air bnbs, but house sitting would help us out immensely. We are home owners in Wanganui and we have also extensively used air bnbs to take our girls on mini breaks away. All our reviews from staying in different homes have been A+. We also personally keep a very tidy, organised, clean home in Wanganui. Although we don't own a lot of pets (currently two cats), we love animals! We are very caring by nature and very frequently visit friends farms in Wanganui who have a wide range of pets/farm animals which our girls love to experience. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. Our girls are also very respectful and tidy and absolutely love nothing more than 'playing house' when we go on holiday. I believe this would be replicated if we were to house sit. The only day that I struggle to be home for long periods of time are Tuesday as this is the one full day that I spend in the clinic with clients. I have been brought up around animals - I love them - they bring so much joy to our lives! You can be sure that I will love and care for your "family members" as if they were my own. Because of Geoff's years spent at sea his opportunities to care for pets have been limited, but in his younger years his family owned cats, dogs and budgies. Geoff and I spend the summer months,October through to April, in New Zealand, which is when we are available for house sitting. We have a yacht berthed in Penang, Malaysia, and we are there during New Zealand's winter months. Geoff has spent nearly 13 years cruising in South East Asia, and I joined him in 2012. Geoff is a shipwright and is capable of servicing a wide range of appliances, machinery etc.He served in the New Zealand navy for 8 years and after leaving he worked as a commercial diver whilst building his first yacht. After sailing for many years in the Pacific, Australia, Africa and Europe, he settled in Brisbane, where he set up his shipwright business. He then built his second yacht and set sail for South East Asia. My previous working life involved a variety of positions, including working as a supervisor in a childcare centre in Waimauku, Auckland, and then as a sterile services technician at North Shore hospital in Auckland. I have two sons who live in the Netherlands and Belgium, and 1 grandson. Because of our lifestyle on the yacht we are organised and tidy in our habits. We enjoy exploring new environments, so house sitting promises to be a great way to meet new people, have some much-needed interaction with animals again, and reunite us with different parts of our country after being away for so many years. We are a professional couple taking time out from work to travel and spend time with family. We are 58 and 59-years-old, have been married for 39 years and have three grown up children. We have over 15 years experience caring for and loving pets whilst their Mum and Dad are away. Over these years we have been in lots of different house/pet-sitting situations. One of our first pet sits was for a gorgeous old Collie dog who had diabetes and needed daily injections. He also had two sisters who were cats and we looked after them all for many years. We started house sitting over ten years ago as a friend had 7 cats and was travelling for five months. We have cared for these cats over many years since. During this time, we have had to give medication, visit the vet and as the years progressed look after their personal care needs much more. We have also sat for three dogs for many years; a black Labrador, Chihuahua and a Border Terrier. We are both extremely, kind, loving and practical and have ensured that pets are cared for in the same way we care for our own pets. We treat your babies the same way as we treat our own, giving them our time and immense affection and kindness. We are both at home all day so can give your pets all the attention they need. We love animals and have also spent some time helping look after pigs, hens and horses. I was a Trustee for a small city farm and my husband managed areas of the same farm. We are asked again and again to house sit because we are careful to keep your house beautiful and send regular pictures and updates of how happy your pets are. I always cook a meal for the returning home owner and replenish their fridge. My husband is extremely able around the house and land and people are happy to see their grounds kept well. I was an Education Consultant before retiring. I am also a keen cook and house maker. My husband has been a Social Care Manager for many years, as well as buying, renovating and selling properties. I am a very fit and active retiree. I left the workforce eight years ago to travel to various parts of the world, including some of NZ which I hadn’t yet been to. I have been involved in sport all my life and interested in organics and sustainabilities for many years, so decided to become a Woofer (Willing Worker On Organic Farms). I have thoroughly enjoyed all my placements in NZ, Australia, USA and Portugal. I have visited places and met people that I would never had the chance as a tourist and learnt about growing fruits, vegetables and raising animals in an totally organic and sustainable manner. I have looked after many animals and learnt how to give back to the land for future harvests. Six years ago in 2018 I bought a lifestyle property in the Far North, so have not been able to travel as much, or house sit as I used to, while working hard on my land. Now however I have more spare time, & look forward to being able to travel in NZ. I currently work on my orchard of 100+ trees of every description imaginable, & 4 large vegetable plots. I farm totally organically, eat in season, & am self sufficient(++) with fruit, vegetables & eggs from my 5 chickens. I am able to swap my excesses for milk, meat, cheese & bread! I feel very fortunate. I also have extra acreage which I use for growing grass, (local farmer makes hay in summer). I have also done two caminos (long walks) in both France, and Portugal into Spain. These were 750 and 700km respectively, in 2014 & 2017. My most recent was from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. I have been a proud homeowner since 1980. As a house sitter, you will have someone with old fashion values of care & respect for your property, a good work ethic, totally reliable & honest. As for pets, when my children were growing up, we had a Staffordshire bull terrier, rabbits, cats, cockatiel and baby goats. Currently I have 5 chickens. While woofing I have looked after lots of dogs, cats, goats (learnt to milk), chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, and loved all those times. My woofing hosts would sometimes leave me to house sit at weekends, or in one case, for 10 days when an unavoidable event happened. On that occasion I looked after a small farmlet of goats, cows chickens, vegetable garden, orchard....the entire property. I loved the challenge and was totally equal to the task of overall management. I love outdoors work. Obviously I enjoy walking, so dogs love me for their twice daily long walks. I was born in Christchurch. I lived 26 yrs in NZ and now 40+ in California. I go home to NZ once or twice a year. I have just said goodby to my 15 year old Mini Pinscher that I rescued at 1yr old. He was very active and we walked twice a day. I volunteered for the Golden Retriever rescue for 6 years interviewing adopters, walking the goldens, and picking up very frightened golden's from shelters to bring into our rescue. I have always had a cat, the biggest love of them was 19 when he passed on. I have a 5 yr old rescue black cat. I also grew up with chooks. I am a competent horse rider and will consider looking after most animals. Would love to throw on my gum boots and head out to the paddock to cover a horse or move an animal to another paddock. I am a Scottish country dancer and like to walk, garden, read and knit. I am willing to go anywhere in NZ and would prefer a rural setting. I have various volunteer roles here, plus grandchildren, and Robin is a trauma therapist working from home - he retired from a medical career in 2020. We have used house sitters for our own home when we used to travel overseas for work and appreciated the security it gave us while we were away, knowing that our home and pets would be lovingly cared for. We would be very happy to provide this for other people. We are both very clean and tidy - we take pride in having a lovely comfortable home. In the past we have owned a small lifestyle block on which we ran dry stock, raised calves, tendered to our chickens. Our black Labrador, Luke enjoyed farm life along with his pal Smoky our cat which out lived him by reaching the grand age of 18. Presently we are pet free due to a clause we have in a crosslease agreement forbidding animals. However we frequently look after our daughters family dog Mia an anxious Labradoodle and a frisky cat called Misty. My sister and I sold our family home in Auckland and decided to 'take a break' from it all and she suggested we try house-sitting. Massimo, my Staffordshire Bull Terrier of 13 years past away in November 2015 (see photo in my profile) and I miss him dearly. This is also a great way of getting my regular 'pet fix' and enjoying a variety of new canine/ feline friends. As a keen photographer, I am also looking forward to exploring and taking some great shots of the local areas. I also love photographing pets whilst they're relaxed at home, so leave me a USB drive and there should be some nice portraits waiting on your return! For the last 20 years I've been working in the support side of Information Technology and will be using this time to research a new career in Organisational Development. Mick is a keen diver and loves to get out in the garden, Tracey used to be a professional cleaner so keeping a home sparkling clean is my thing - I also love mowing lawns. We both love to walk and do lengthier hikes & can be found in the mornings trying to beat each other at Wordle & Quordle. We are both people who take pride and care not only in our home (including the grounds) but any home we visit or stay in. We absolutely both respect your home is your castle, that your pets are your joy and we want you to go away knowing we will love your animals and care for them & your house (and grounds if required) so you can just relax. Im a keen and active rugby player in England and I have worked and saved hard to travel to New Zealand for your summer. I work in a dog friendly hotel in many high responsibility roles such as, office work, resident management, general maintenance of rooms and gardening, barman and management of deliveries. A 'jack' of all trades, no pun intended! In these positions, personal hygiene is a must and something i personally take pride in. As we are a dog friendly hotel, even when I am at work I am still providing and caring for dogs. At home I take care of 3 dogs, a young puppy a middle child and a senior dog who requires extra attention. she takes regular medication which I administer and monitor. she recently had a large swelling in her face, a cyst of sorts which meant the use of other specialist antibiotics and ointments had to be used. Growing up I have never been without dogs and have lots of experience taking care of them. I am very active with them with regular walks. I love spending time with dogs and would like to have the opportunity to have this companionship along my travels. I will not be working in the time of house sitting arrangements so I will have plenty of time to spend with your pets should they be used to/need a lot of attention. we have a resident cat at the hotel as well which I am responsible for too. I worked for many years in the Hair and Beauty industry as a Hairdresser and Beauty therapist. I have owned business and employed staff in the past. During the Covid lockdown I revived my crafting stills creating some interesting upcycling projects. I had been asked by friends to housesit and care for their pets. It seemed a natural progression to I chose to housesit in anticipation of travelling and I joined an international housesitting site, meeting some fabulous people whilst in the UK in 2018. Many of these people I am still in contact with. On my return to New Zealand my desire to travel remained so I continued to move around seeing more of our beautiful Aotearoa. Among the animals I have cared for cats both indoor and outdoor, dogs large and small young and old, chickens ducks and fish and also some livestock. Returning to housesits many times means I have developed some great friendships with both the animals and their owners, and also in some cases neighbors and friends in communities. I've babysitted a few times when I was in Highschool. I grew up with 2 cats and 1 dog (miniature Pinscher) but unfornutately, he died when I was young... My love for dogs never changed and I always though of sharing my life with them when the moment is adequate. Nadege grew up in a farm with a few cats. She use to work in the agriculture world. She is used to livestock and working/non-working dogs. Due to her field of work she has taken care of house and farm while the owners where gone which includes dog/cat/cow/goose/chickens sitting. Our lovely litlle cat Uma, which we adopt a year ago, is staying with Nadege's family at the moment as we couldn't take her with us... We love physical exercise, hikes, long walks through nature and would really enjoy sharing this with dogs.

We are both writers, working in the tourism sector, and we met in beautiful Bali where we have been living since 1998 and 2006. We have travelled extensively in Indonesia, including trips to some of the country's remotest corners. We have been together for 15 years, we got married in New Zealand in 2021, and we are now living our dream dividing our time between Bali and New Zealand with a little bit of England and Europe thrown in along the way. We spend five months in Bali each year, one month in Europe and the UK, and six months in New Zealand from December to June. We invite guests to stay in our house in Bali and do home exchanges when we are in New Zealand and Europe, hence us looking for some more places to stay in New Zealand. We are both animal lovers, having rescued numerous cats and dogs off the streets in Bali over the many years that we have lived here. They all became much loved members of our respective households until our last cat and finally our last dog crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago. We miss them terribly but when we made the lifestyle change to divide our time between Bali and New Zealand, we made the decision not to get any more pets. However, our love and respect for animals has not diminished and that is why we look forward to looking after other people's pets. We both work from home so will be around nearly all day every day to give your animals all the love and attention they need. What you will get with us is two very caring, professional, respectful people who understand the need for absolute trust on both sides when looking after other people’s cherished homes and beloved pets. Both David and I grew up in cities, he in Illinois and me in Massachusetts. We met in the US Navy. David and I retired as Lieutenant Commanders from the United States Navy in 1994. Our duty stations have included Adak, Alaska; Norfolk, Virginia, Pensacola, Florida; and Honolulu, Hawaii. After retiring, I started and taught a Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Class at a Hawaii High School. We then moved to Billings, Montana, where we lived from 1996 to 2001. When our youngest of two children graduated from high school, we moved to rural Montana and built a log home, where we have lived since 2001. We have1 dog (miniature poodle), and numerous outdoor cats. I have also had birds (cockatiel, parakeet, finch & canary), guinea pigs and fish as pets. David also has a knowledge of beef cattle, goats, ducks, and chickens. My hobbies include vegetable gardening, bird watching, and needlework. David's main hobby is wood working. He works part time as a ranch hand and does odd jobs such as carpentry, plumbing and repairs. He has worked at farming for local ranches and has knowledge and can repair most farm machinery. We both spent 12 years as members of the local volunteer fire department, he as chief, and me as secretary treasurer. I also ran the weekly senior meal program in our small community for 17 years. Our son is a resident of New Zealand who met his New Zealand wife in Osan Korea. They live in Dunedin where he works at the University of Otago, and she is a teacher at a local school. This will be our fifth visit to New Zealand, and we have seen a lot of the country in the previous 3 visits. My sons' children are 20, 18, and 16. They live at the University. We would love to take care of your pets and home while you are away and while we are in NZ visiting my son and his family. We arrive the end of January 11, 2025 and will leave March 2, 2025. Hi, I am an empty nester, and would love an opportunity to house sit and look after pets. I have raised three children and over the years I have had and have cared for numerous pets. Growing up, my family had a Samoyed dog and two cats. My father was also the local dog walker and I often walked the dogs as well. When I was a stay at home mum,I developed a reputation for being a foster mother for many animals. I have adopted bunnies, guinea pigs and 8 hens from friends who could no longer care for their animals. On top of this, I transformed our 1/4 acre section into a stunning garden and started a tutoring business. When friends went away,I would care for their animals either at their homes or at my home. Once I looked after a rabbit that needed daily injections for eight weeks . Currently, I am a house owner and I have a rental property in Auckland.I also teach full-time at a girls school and am responsible for the learning support department. With the goal of one day retiring outside of Auckland I would love an opportunity to look after someone else’s home and animals and explore other parts of the country. I am in my happy place with animals and nature and I am very fit, energetic and reliable. I enjoy road cycling, walking, yoga and swimming. My day typically starts at 5.30 am with a walk before work and finishes with another walk and sometimes yoga. At weekends, I cycle regularly 50 -70 kms for leisure. We are a healthy and fit couple in our late 60s (non-smokers), originally from The Netherlands, who have sold our home last year. Currently we are waiting for our new apartment in Northcote (Auckland) to be completed (expected settlement early 2025) and looking after other people’s houses has proven to be a great way to bridge that period and to have a change of scenery after we’ve moved into our new apartment. We have quite a number very successful house sits already and loved the experience. We ran a Homestay/B&B in Wellington for more than 6 years, so we are experienced with looking after accommodation and we know the importance of keeping a house clean, tidy and well presented! We have always taken pride in our house, which was very obvious when the real estate agent who sold our current house remarked that she wished everybody’s house looked like this. Jos is retired, while Lucien still works full-time as a software developer from home, so at least one of us will always be there to keep your dog company. A fast and reliable internet connection is the only ‘must’. We have had dogs and cats ourselves - Golden Retrievers for many years, and a sweet little Cavoodle for the last 12 years (who sadly passed away last year) - and we have been looking after cats, dogs, houses and the occasional chicken for months now, so we know how to care for animals, and are happy to care for yours. We have had cats and dogs of our own over the years. We also helped neighbours when they went away to care for them. We often have to baby sit our furry grandchildren that is a Labradoodle called Whiskey and a Ragdoll cat called Willow. We realise that we will have to leave them home while we are on our adventure. We understand that the needs of dogs and cats are different but the common factor is love, attention and feeding. We are happy to take the animals for a walk when and as it is accustomed to as much as we are able too. We love wild birds and had a water bowl and feeding tray in the garden. Looked after a bunny and some hamsters of a neighbour. We are not scared of farm animals, have rented a property many years ago where we had to make sure there was water in the throughs and kept an eye on the animals in the paddocks surrounding our home. We lived and worked in Christchurch for 22 years, before moving to Papamoa 9 years ago. We have owned our own home for most of our 49 years of marriage, and have always taken pride in keeping both house and garden tidy and well maintained. After our last elderly dog passed away 7 years ago, we really missed having a dog in our home, so became approved volunteer puppy boarders for Blind/Low Vision puppies, and are still enjoying providing this service. Allan's parents were dairy farmers, and he loved farm life. He is an enthusiastic golfer and gardener, a Justice of the Peace, and volunteers for the Papamoa Community patrol. Jenny is also a keen gardener, enjoys both an exercise/social group and a craft group, volunteers regularly at Good Neighbour Food Rescue, and loves being involved with a Music and Movement group for preschoolers and their Mums. We both belong to Probus, and are also rostered on for several roles at our church. When I was married and we bought our first house, having pets was a top priority. After 3 years we had 3 cats (Tabby, Tina and Kate) and 2 Beagles (Tony and Lucy). I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. I no longer have pets of my own so I would really love the opportunity to care for yours, either outside of Auckland when I ready for a break or in Auckland for a 'staycation' I am mature, responsible, respectful and resourceful. We are 69 and 75 yrs, involved in golf croquet, bridge, Mah Jong, Bolivia, Bushy Park Wildlife Sanctuary (Board member) and the Association of Administration Professionals NZ. We enjoy walking, riding e bikes and reading, and are keen gardeners. We have travelled a lot overseas but would like to revisit a lot of areas in NZ in our retirement. For January sits only, we often have our two grandchildren with us13 and 15 years old. They have come with us for the last 5 years and this has not been a problem. In fact they help to entertain dogs who like to play and fetch ball a lot. For the past 20 years we have done 25 home exchanges mainly in USA, Australia, England, Italy, Belgium, Austria and Ireland. Some of these involved looking after pets as well as owners' homes. We have also done 30 house and pets sits in NZ and Australia. Our most recent house sits were in Perth looking after two border collies and two cats in Sept 2024, in Wellington looking after a Sydney Silkie for a week in May 2024, lifestyle blocks in New Plymouth in Jan 2024 looking after alpacas, a border collie, a labrador and a cat; in Jan 2023 another lifestyle block looking after chickens, geese, pigs, piglets, steers, cats, a border collie and fish - a complex feeding programme for this sit with the variety of animals., We have spent three weeks in Cairns in 2016 looking after Angel, a shitzu, 2 weeks in Christchurch looking after two shitzus; four weeks in Toowoomba, Brisbane in 2017 looking after a bichon, 2 weeks in Whanganui looking after a Labrador and KC the cat; and in Palmerston North, NZ looking after 2 bichons Maisie and Maggie in 2018 twice; and a Bichon and shitzhu and Burmese cat in New Plymouth, 2 labs in Te Puke in 2019 and a boxer in Christchurch for 3 weeks in 2020. More recently we have looked after Maltese/ shih zhu, border terriers, collies, pigs, geese, fish, chickens, birds, sheep and cows. All the dogs were gorgeous and loved going for walks, going out in the car and playing ball in the park. If the dogs are elderly or small we are mindful of their walking limitations. We have had cats over the years and more recently looked after our adult sons' dogs; cavoodles and a heading/pointer cross. We have also looked after cocker spaniels and labradors. Graeme is particularly fond of border collies and we would have one except we have a small section and travel a fair bit. I have been employed as a PA at the local hospital for the past 24 years and on casual project work. We are both now retired; Graeme is a handyman type and maintains our house and garden to a high standard. We have built and landscaped two homes, taking pride in keeping them well maintained. We are reliable, clean, honest and caring of pets. We are happy to take your dog(s) for walks and out with us in the car if they like car trips. We would look after your home as you would and you can be reassured things will be left as we find them. We are happy to talk to and play with your pets, mow lawns and water gardens if needed. One with a dog, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs, 3 chooks, a rabbit and some fish; the other with a dog and a cat. Over the years I have been a house sitter, a home owner, and a renter. I am used to moving around as my career has seen me change location a number of times, as well as regular travel and overnight stays. I’m pet free at the moment. My job necessitated regular travel, meaning I couldn’t give the required care and attention to a pet. As a child we had a very much loved family cat. When I had my children we had 2 cats from kittens and they completed our household with their crazy antics. My experience with dogs has been with a farm dog early in marriage, and later with an adult golden Labrador who was great with the kids and an easy care dog. There has since been a gap. My brother in the Bay has a staffie, and I will be housesitting and caring for him for 4 days in April. Approximately 20 years ago I housesat over a year, mainly in Gisborne. One housesit was for 3 months overseeing a home that was on the market, keeping it viewing ready. I also for 4 years looked after a large home each Christmas which one year included feeding aviary pigeons. I’ve also in the Bay looked after a mother cat and kittens for 2 weeks. I will treat your home carefully. Love to look after cats and open to well behaved dogs. I can also care for chooks as often feed and collect eggs on my sons farm. My hobbies include casual walking and exploring new places. I’ve been a keen gardener in the past so am happy to water gardens and look after pots. Kia ora, we are Rosie and Taz. We have lived in New Zealand since winter of 2022 and have been professionally housesitting for the last 18 months. Rosie's father is from NZ and Taz has extended family who emigrated here many years ago. We plan to make our long term home in New Zealand. We also have lots of experience housesitting for friends and family be it an overnight stay or multiple weeks of sitting. We started housesitting as an option from living and travelling in our van around NZ but now have our own home in rural Kerikeri. I have done a lot of housing sitting over the years and have cared for and feed many animals. Auckland for 3 months looking after dogs and cats. Farm animals or feeding chickens, which is no problem as I am a country girl at heart. I have had looked after 3 large dogs. One that required monitored medication daily and exercise. I have also had to feed unwell cats medicine etc and have no problem caring for your pets no matter what there needs. I enjoy the company of animals especially since I am away from home so much. I love all animals and especially their little characters. Whilst I am at home during the summer months, I used to host overseas students that come to NZ to learn English. I have had many students over the years, Swiss, Thai, Arabian, Japanese, Chiian, Brazilian. I have just sold my Parnell apartment and am not sure of my next move, so would like to take some time out to consider what that could be, hence the desire to become a house sitter. Life is one big adventure! I like to be kept busy; I love to travel, discovering out of the way places, meeting new people & embracing life. But my family pets have always been a top priority. House sitting offers some exciting opportunities, but more specifically it will provide me with the pleasures of 'adopting' your family pets, if only for a short time. (And, I certainly miss not having my own pet to care for). There has always been a cat or dog (or both) in the house and then there have been the children's tropical fish, German rat, guinea pigs, rabbits, and birds! We've even had a couple of cats 'adopt' us! I also volunteered for 18 months at a bird rescue centre a few years ago which was a very rewarding experience. From a young age until her early 20s, I also used to spend a lot of time at my aunt & uncles farm where they had a dairy herd, goats and a chicken run. Animals have always featured in my life. I have been fortunate to have had some wonderful House & pet sitting opportunities over the past 3 years (with a global house sitting company) looking after dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and birds - most of these sits were while I was based in the UK. My father and his ancestors came from the Isle of Mull, my mother’s from Northern Ireland. My accent is hard to place, as I have travelled extensively in my life and have had to learn to modify my accent over the years, to be comprehensible to others. I am a very friendly and gregarious soul, who loves the company of both people and animals. I have worked in mental health for over 30 years; initially, as a psychiatric nurse and later as a mental health clinician and therapist. I have also worked in performing arts for nearly as long, as a professional actor mainly. These days, I combine my love of theatre and education to teach others some successful strategies, to navigate the bumpy paths of life. I do a little bit of homeschool teaching and I am an instructor at the New Zealand Stage and Screen combat school in Birkenhead. I came back home to New Zealand in March 2020, after having lived back in the UK for a couple of years, looking after my father. I came back to Auckland for my son’s wedding and found myself marooned due to the Covid lockdown. My father died shortly after I arrived and therefore I have no need to go back in the UK. My life and living is very flexible as a single man of 54 years of age. I enjoy playing my ukulele and singing every day and have a successful Christmas business, portraying Father Christmas himself. I have had pets all my life, both cats and dogs, when living in my own property. Since being marooned here in 2020, I have missed them dearly. I've often been left to manage the family farm, looking after cattle, sheep, working dogs, pig dogs, ducks, a cat or two, and the odd pukeko! I'm very capable and able to deal with most problems that might crop up. I'm also experienced with indoor-only cats. I'll look after your home and pets as if they were my own - keep the house clean and tidy, bring in mail, and keep in touch by text/email/whatsapp if required. I'm happy to water plants but prefer not to mow lawns or weed gardens (although this can be negotiated for longer sits). My latest Housesit was in Western Springs for ten days, the ginger cat Lucy had a stroke so needed a lot of care. Lucy loved to sleep on the bed with me, I loved having her close. The other cat Diesel was more independent. My other duties were watering the garden and collecting the mail. Also over the Xmas new year period I went to houses with sole purpose of feeding, patting and caring for four different cats. Also specialise in turtle minding, feeding for my son and his girlfriend. Hi I'm Kim. I'm an environmental scientist working in sustainability for an energy company, I work fully remotely so I'm mostly home Mon - Fri. My work sometimes includes travel to locations such as Auckland, Wellington, central Nth Island and the Otago. When I do that I like to house sit as I prefer to live like a local rather than stay in hotels, it also gives me the added bonus of fur babies which I love. My husband and I live in Christchurch with our Burmese fur baby Cookie who truly rules our life in a good way. We are retired and are fit and young at heart. We have been house sitting for the last three years, both in New Zealand and Australia. We are super tidy, especially my wife! and we love pets. Until we traveled abroad for career purposes, we always had pets and dog for the family. When the children were little we had a pooch, black and fluffy for about 14 years, growing up they had the company of a black Labrador. Coming to Fiji we looked after our friends dog for 2 years, a large doberman, one that would lick you to death! And just lately again to help out friends going overseas for 12 months a beautiful German Sheppard and the cat, both couldn't live without the other, and together they provided most of the entertainment! I love walking, and it just isn't the same without a best friend. We know pets love routine, and we will enjoy to fit in with your regular way of looking after them. We are used to having pets, enjoy spending time with pets, and understand their needs of companionship. We have six children, all grown up with their own family. Having had a significant overseas and New Zealand based career, we have had the benefit of high end company homes to live in. References on how we looked after these homes are readily available. Reasons for house sitting: - Currently residing with my parents to save for my first home. - I am quite sensitive to my environments - this means I need a tidy, clean, quiet space to meditate or practice yoga. - Travel is important to me, I like to explore new areas and communities even if it is just around the corner! This time last year I spent three months in a home with two goats, two horses, five chickens and a beautiful veggie patch. I am a single professional man (chartered fire safety engineer), recently retired, and have lived on the North Shore, Auckland for 25 years (originally from South Africa), currently in a fully furnished apartment in Takapuna. This apartment has been put on the market and I have three overseas trips planned about 6 weeks apart, starting mid-May, so I have decided to vacate and do some travelling to see my daughters in the UK and my son in the USA and their children, and also see the sights. In September I will be doing the train journey from Sydney to Perth, hoping to see the spectacle of the desert wild flowers. With minimal possessions (in storage for my trips) I am mobile and feel housesitting would be a fun thing to do in between trips and possibly thereafter. I enjoy cooking, reading, nature documentaries (e.g. David Attenborough), computers, fire engineering science, DIY. I am physically active, enjoying cycling, playing squash, walking and yoga/pilates. Although I do not have pets of my own now, my family has always had a dog/s and sometimes a cat, so I am familiar with their needs and care. Growing up we had an Alsatian, which, sadly got run over. My mother always had a cat. When one died of old age (usually) she got another. My first dog was given to me on a street corner when I was 11, (to my parents’ horror, as 6 of us were living in an apartment, but we kept her). She died giving birth to pups. We then moved into a house and got three mixed breed dogs, and of course, my mother’s cat. These had to be put down due to their misbehaviour. My next pets were hamsters when I was 15, and then a budgie when I was in uni. It often flew free in the flat until one day my flatmate left the window open and it flew away. Then I met my wife, who brought her Bouvier des Flandres from Holland. This was a well trained dog and listened to commands (in Dutch), but only from her. I tried, but he ignored me, mostly! I have not had another pet since then, but my son and family had pugs which they took to the USA when they moved there and I got to walk them on my visits. So, I am quite able to take care of dogs and cats, in general, and also according to instructions for special needs, including their daily exercise, if required. As your house sitter you can expect responsible care for your home and pets from a mature man with practical abilities, physically able to carry out everyday tasks in and around the property, be on the property every night and most of the day.

We are an easy-going couple and are flexible with dates, times and sit locations. Our strengths are: -Communication - we will keep in touch as often as you prefer with photos and updates about your fur babies -Problem Solving - if something minor goes wrong with your property we will make our best effort to sort it out without disrupting your travels. Brad has worked in construction and maintenance for many years and can usually fix the problem -Empathy - we are highly empathic people which means we connect well with animals (and humans!). Your animals will naturally be disrupted by your absence. We go over and above to make this experience as positive as possible for all involved As homeowners ourselves we know how to take care of property and maintain the standard you'd expect. We always had dogs and cats when I was growing up so I'm comfortable with having them around and looking after their needs. I house-sat for some friends and their two beautiful dogs over the winter of 2018 and decided I wanted to continue doing it for others. I'm a self-employed entrepreneur and can work online from anywhere. I enjoy the variety of moving around and experiencing different places. Because I work from home I'm able to be there a lot of the time to keep an eye on things and keep your pets company. I'm tidy, self-sufficient and responsible with other people's property. Kia Ora! We’re Emma and Elias, twins on tour through New Zealand with a working holiday visa, eager to explore the country and its people. Whilst looking for an accommodation we’ve stumbled upon house/pet sitting, which seemed perfect to us both. Both of us adore pets and animals in general and even though we only have fish at home;), both of us have plenty of experience, especially with dogs. I, Emma, did a school exchange in 2020 and lived in a family with 3 dogs (a husky and 2 adopted strays). I took care of them every day of the year, taking all three of them on long walks through the beautiful nature of Andalusia and still, almost three years later, I miss them dearly. I also made a habit out of going to the local Dog-Rescue-Center, taking little pups without a home on walks along the beach. I, Elias, have a close friend with 3 young australian shepherds. Back in Germany I joined them for a walk every day over the last year and cared for them whenever the family was away. I’ve helped educating them since the age of 12 weeks and went through all stages of adolescence with the little rascals. All three of them have a special place in my heart and they will be my first stop when this travel experience comes to an end. Even though both of us have more experience taking care of dogs, we have helped friends and family with cats whenever we had the chance to. If you choose us as sitters you can expect two young, responsible adults to take care of both your home and your animal/s with lots of love and passion. Also, we bring plenty of time with us due to us not working at all or only working part time! That means we are very flexible and can always prioritize your pet/s. We’re looking forward to meet you and your little family!!!
