Gisborne
Gisborne is the first city in the world to see the sun rise, and what a stunning place to see it rise. There are some great surfing spots with Gisborne known to many as the surfing capital of New Zealand. If you’re into wine, the Gisborne area is a great place to be. You can go out on a range of Gisborne wine tours in which you’ll find out all about the heritage and culture of this amazing wine producing region. If wine isn’t your thing, then there are lots of other options for you, including the many Gisborne beaches, horse riding, and cultural and historical tours of Gisborne too.

My highest priority is your complete peace of mind during your absence, and to keep your home and animals secure. I am extremely vigilant and security conscious. I will be looking after your Pets and Home with great care & respect. As I study online only part time, I can easily provide plenty of walk-runs, companionship and cuddles with your pets. I will also happily tend to any indoor plants, gardens and lawns. I hope to meet you prior to the sitting, as I'd like to listen and understand your expectations in detail. As I mentioned, peace of mind is my highest priority. I'm a vegetarian non-smoker, non-drinker, and a super friendly, quiet Kiwi guy who genuinely loves to help and care for others. During the sit I will be by myself the whole time, and there will be absolutely no guests, parties or anything of the sort. I'm responsible, diligent and honest. I will be sure to keep you updated throughout the sit with photos and other forms of reassurance. I pride myself on exceeding expectations and paying high attention to detail. I have attached various past job references stating these qualities. I have a sincere love for animals and have plenty of experience with them, having spent time on a farm and having countless pets throughout my life. I also have experience looking after business property and homes for owners. Additionally, I've done general property maintenance, gardening, landscaping, etc. I'm currently a part time civil engineering student but study online. I enjoy making music, camping, and spending time with my family pets. Please contact me whenever. I hope I can be of help! In the past I've cared for many animals, but have had the personal pets: Dogs: Maggie, Max, Joe, Oscar Cats: Kit kat, astro, Nico A pond full of Koi fish as well as fish tanks with smaller fish. 2 guinea pigs, and various birds.

Our careers as a professional couple have been a school p.a secretary and a rates arrears officer for the local council both retired 2017 and would be pleased to look after your house and pets while you are absent. We are an outdoor couple and love to explore walks and experiences etc in other areas. We both come from families who have always encouraged us to nurture animals. We have always had pets for our 3 children and in particular a very endearing cat for years who was a Tonkinese cross between a Burmese and Siamese. We would be very caring for your pets, and small animals with compassion. We are responsible and respectful people who would like to help families feel secure by looking after their property and pets while they are away. Charles is meticulous maintaining our own house and grounds and has expertise in trees. We both take pride in our privately owned home. You can expect our utmost consideration in your home, hygiene, compassion to your pets and your belongings.

Hello there, My name is Donna and I'm a 60 year old mother of three children. I grew up in the Hutt Valley and have spent most of my life in the Wellington/Wairarapa area. For the past 10 years, I've been a healthcare assistance at a number of retirement villages in the Wellington region. While not working, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, going for bush walks and reading a good novel. I've previously done the odd house sit for friends and family, however with my children having all now left home and coming up to retirement, I'm keen to look at housesitting more frequently. I love animals and our family has all grown up with both cats and dogs. Since a young age, we owned family dogs with the first being Budda who was a Lab x Dobberman and the most recent being Bella who was a Border Collie x Irish Settler. I understand it can be stressful for pet/house owners when they go away to not have someone watching over their homes or keeping their pets company. I get a real buzz out of helping people and providing reassurance that when they go away, they're pets/house will be in good hands. I'm aware that all pets have their own individual needs and am respectful and accepting of these. I consider myself to be a reliable, responsible and trustworthy person. I can't wait to look after your pets and house and look after them as if they were my own. Chat soon. Donna

Hi there! Our names are David and Tessa, 30 and 32 years old. We moved to New Zealand 3 years ago and are currently living in Palmerston North. We are still in the stage of our lives where we do not need to settle so we love going on adventures, seeing new places and experiencing new things. By housesitting we can see different parts of New Zealand and get a good feel for where we might want to settle a couple of years from now. Furthermore, housesitting gives us the joy of pets without holding us back from travelling. In the past years, we have done this by foster parenting for the SPCA, Saving Hope Foundation, and most recently for Pawshake (a pet sitting service where people pay a fee for you to housesit or have their animals stay with you. We have many more reviews on that website and are happy to provide those too. I have been working from home since 2020 and will have plenty of time to spend on keeping your house clean, loving your animals, and gardening if need be. David is also currently transitioning to online work and will be able to maintain the lawn and other things around the house should they arise. We are a quiet couple who love animals and enjoy camping, hiking, being outdoors and staying active. Upon return you can expect a clean well maintained home and garden, loved and cared for pets, and the house just as you left it. Also, we love taking photos so if you are worried that you are going to miss your furry children too much we are more than happy to send you regular updates through pictures and videos :) We have experience with short & longe house stays as well as the following animals: - Dogs - Cats - Chickens - Goats - Horses - Guinea Pigs - Bunnies - Sheep - Ducks If you require any additional information please do not hesitate to contact us. Warm regards, David and Tessa

I am a young and active senior who retired at Christmas 2021, I had worked with Ontario's largest Children's Mental Health Agency for 18 years. I arrived in back NZ early 2022 after spending 19 years in Canada. My husband passed away last year. Quite the battle to get into MIQ to return home, with the lotto draw they installed !!! I am currently living with my son and daughter in law, and it would be nice to spend time away on the odd occasion. I house sat before leaving for Canada in Omokoroa and Mount Maunganui. One was an Avocado Orchard and they had 70 Parrots in aviaries on the property, such fun. I have been the proud owner of 5 rescue Old English Sheepdogs.. not all at the same time !!!! so I know about grooming. My last dog Boomer was 116lbs, (52.5kg) a big strong boy and the light of our lives. In 2020 we started to foster dogs brought up from Texas from the "high kill" pounds. Copper was our first, A Walker Coon Hound... never heard of them before and what a delight with his howl. I will leave your home as you left it though I do enjoy gardening and cleaning windows... My hobbies are reading, walking, knitting and TV..... I am a friendly person. get on with most people, I am the listener not the talker... I grew up in UK, came to NZ and then followed my son to Canada. Just went for a holiday and met my husband, tore up my ticket and stayed put....... I consider NZ home.....

Lately, we’ve been feeling the need for change. As my daughter has just finished school, we now have time to live more freely and move around again. We did some House, dog and even farm sitting in Australia a few years ago and we found that it was an amazing way to immerse ourselves in the country and culture, living as one of the locals. We had a lot of very positive feedback, as people love that we were reliable, respectful of the place we are in, and also affectionate toward their animals. We love animals, all animals without exception (Maybe not so much leeches…). This period of freedom will also allow me to complete a project which aims to bring people together around the UN's sustainable goals using art, collaboration, and creativity. Meaning that if you choose us as your house sitters you will also be supporting an art project in a way! Photos often work better than long speeches: number 1/ Pia was playing with Camembert in Melbourne. We made a great connection with Camembert but also with his parents. We ate diner together and came back to look after Camembert many times. number 2/ My good friend Goosy. She was biting everybody except us. I think she enjoyed it when I spoke to her in French ;-) number 3/ Pia had particular success with Molly a Shetland pony. number 4/ …and also with a sheep. number 5/ We enjoy walking and it's even nicer along the beach with our favorite four-legged friend! number 6/ Here is me freezing on a boat. I don't have many pictures of myself because I take them. Hehe.

Newly retired, non smoker, healthy, vaccinated (3). Hi, I’m Dorothy, 66. I am newly retired after 30 years. I live in the Hauraki area (Paeroa) and I like walking, gardening, food, being with friends and family, having pets as good company and am a champion for SPCA and WAP as animals need our help as well. I was raised on a dairy farm, lots of animals and pets while growing up and I live on a dairy farm at the moment with a cat (a stray from work), have been house sitting for my colleagues for the last year. This included cats, dogs, sheep, cattle, chooks and an eel (enjoyed that). For the last 20 years I have helped some friends who live in Auckland with their small holding in the Waikato, checking their few sheep ok. 2 coll have rebooked me recently and 2 other ex-staff members have asked now also, happy to help them. One of the house sits was in the hills, very private and tranquil which I enjoyed the peace and serenity there. It would be a pleasure to look after your home and/or pets. I would be happy to send photos/updates while you are away (e-mail or text only, not involved with social media sorry), so you can relax knowing they are being loved and cared for. It was a joke at work that I liked things tidy and clean. Please check my references and contact them if you wish to check how they felt my looking after their pets went. Bye for now. Dorothy

We are David and Adrienne Smith and are "active retirees ". We are a friendly, quiet couple, non-smokers, who have rented out our home in Auckland to discover the rest of this beautiful country, whilst caring for your home and pets. About us: David spent much of his early years on a farm in Matamata, before moving with his family to Auckland. He has worked for Air New Zealand, and its predecessor NAC, for many years as an airline pilot, both short and long haul and is now retired. David is involved in IT support for a charity group, which can be carried out anywhere there is internet connection. We do not need much bandwidth, its mostly offline work. Adrienne, also retired, has worked as a nurse, teaching assistant and caregiver. She is a keen gardener and loves walking, crafts and reading. We are enjoying this next phase of life, exploring other parts of this beautiful country, and beyond. We chose to spend a year in the beautiful Bay of Plenty and are part way through a year based in Christchurch. Now we feel it's time to return to Northern parts where we plan to continue caring for your furred, finned and feathered families. Our gorgeous bi-colour ragdoll cat is no longer with us, leaving us free to care for your home and pets. We love pets and have significant experience caring for cats, dogs of various sizes and ages, and chooks, goats, cows and birds. As we have no work or family constraints, we can offer dedicated service to caring for your home and pet as we would our own.

I am originally from Scotland but my home now is in New Zealand. I am a mature thirty-five years old, with an honors degree from Edinburgh University in Photography, Film, and Imaging. My area of expertise within photography is children and animals. I am a trained Life Coach and Trauma Therapist. I have embraced a work ethic that allows me to run my business wherever I go which means when I house sit I am home for ample time, making sure the house and animals will be well attended to. From past training, I have accomplished Risk Management, Fire Safety, and First Aid allowing me to use tools, initiative as well as intuition as new situations arise. I have traveled worldwide and have been house and pet sitting since I was eighteen. My most memorable house sit to date was in Costa Rica, caring for Monkeys, Cockatoo's, Dogs, Cats, Horses, and Fish in a tropical environment, living simply and embracing potent thunderstorms. I merged my love for diversity and travel, becoming an Au-Pair in New Zealand, Australia, South America, and the UK. I have managed several wealthy households, young children, and family animals for over nine years. I love connecting with animals and often feel I speak their language. I am gentle, empathic, energetic, adaptable, and caring. While you are away, you can be assured I will love them as if they were my own, attending to their needs with diligence. In regards to caring for the home, I am organized, clean, tidy, and bring unwavering respect to my environment wherever I am fortunate enough to travel. I look forward to connecting with you soon and hearing about where you are adventuring to, given you need a house sitter at this time. Great things never come from comfort zones.

Hi there, My name is Andrew. I am 63. I am a writer and work remotely. I travel frequently, so I do not have pets of my own - so I absolutely adore the time get to spend looking after other people's pet's. I love all animals, but am especially fond of dogs and cats. Horses, fish, hamsters, rats, hens, goats, sheep and pigs are also my friends. I am not too fond of spiders or creepy crawly type creatures, although I did look after a worm farm once and even enjoyed it. When not on my computer writing or working, I like to go on long walks. I swim, meditate, I love cooking and gardening. As my computer is my mobile office, your pets will have company all day long. I am completely house trained and am an expert in the art of being a guest. I will treat both your home and your beautiful pets with the respect and love they deserve. I would love to housesit your home and look after your treasured pets. I know that upon your return you will be very happy to have chosen me, and I'm sure you will be looking for my telephone number when you are thinking about your next holiday. I do not smoke. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am currently running my yoga online business from home and travelling around New Zealand filming my yoga classes, along the way I’m also taking a holiday as my children are all grown up, I’d love to stay in new towns around nz to experience the beauty within each town. I’m tidy and clean and lead a peaceful life. I love cats, my own cats have sadly passed on and I miss them so much. I would care for your home as if it was my own and be a lovely friend and care for your cat or cats should you have them. I also love larger dogs as I had a very athletic, both adventurous and laid back massive golden retriever Max, he went every where with me as we both loved to be out and about, equally he was happy to stay home and chill while I went out. Sorry I can’t connect as well with little dogs who need to be right with you all day.

Hello - We're Gemma (33) and Brian (32), a young(ish) couple who enjoy travelling, and have just recently moved back to NZ after Brian spent over 8 years in the UK after meeting me so it seemed only fair I do a stint here. We recently purchased an RV and will be travelling around the country in between house sits while I work remotely 4 days a week and Brian takes a career break during 2022/23 so you can be certain your home and pets will be well looked after. We love animals and house sitting, and have plenty of experience doing so from when we were in the UK. We've house sat for a number of people, for time periods ranging from 2 nights to 6 months, while looking after cats, dogs, rabbits, and tortoises. We're really well organised, tidy, and caring. You can expect to return to your home as clean as you left it, with happy pets. We're double vaccinated and boosted so you can be assured we're taking all appropriate Covid precautions as well. We require an internet connection, space on your property to park up our 6.5m long motor home while we look after your home and pets and we're not interested in any sits if you normally smoke indoors.

Your home will be looked after with the upmost care and respect, as will your much loved pet/s; with the goal being to ensure they're not stressed whilst you need to be elsewhere. I am happy to follow any and all instructions for your pets that enable them to remain settled in their own environment until your return. Their needs take priority, and should do too. I particularly love cats, especially the inquisitive ones with heaps of personality and character but also love the delicate ones who need special one-on-one time to feel reassured in your absence, along with those who have clock up a few years and need to be respected, loved, and time to simply be. I like small dogs with bold personalities and also appreciate the character and energy of larger ones. The very mature dogs, or those with special requirements, are treasures to be respected and allowed to keep their own pace in life, whatever that may be. I am more of a homebody and enjoy quiet times. This allows me great flexibility to be on-hand for pets and their home-based routines. I am very house proud, honest and reliable. I enjoy reading, writing, arts, crafts, movies and quality music. Love laughter and have a great sense of humour - life is wonderful! I currently work for a not-for-profit support agency in the aged care social service sector and am based in the Bay of Plenty region. I am typically only away from home base up to five hours a day during weekdays as a minimum, with a large proportion of my work being flexible and working remotely via the internet. I don't work on weekends and enjoy chilling out at home during this time and in the evenings. For out of town house sits, I have accumulated considerable annual leave and would thoroughly enjoy, and welcome, a change of scene and a well earned break away from the never-ending demands of the office (the boss agrees too!). Breaks away are wonderful, especially when chilling out with new found furry friends and the entertainment can be priceless! If I apply for your house sit and you don't live in the bay region it will because I am able, and wishing to, take annual leave and be available for your pet/s and your home during the time period you have stated in your house sitter request. If your house sit is one of these, or even a local area sit, it would be very much appreciated if the house sit was booked as soon as possible to allow me to make the suitable arrangements for accommodation either side of your house sit dates so as to arrive when you need me, especially if these are during statutory holidays. (Many thanks in advance for this consideration) Due to me living in the bay it might not be possible to meet you in person prior to a house sit if you are out of the region but I am more than happy to Skype/Zoom at a convenient time for you & your pets (some pets are most inquisitive when it comes to technology and love to join the session - super cute too!). Or simply chatting on the phone is welcome too (happy to meet the expense of the call if required). In saying so, travelling a few hours out of town on a weekend to meet you prior to a house sit is certainly doable, again, happy to work with what suits you and your pets, so please just ask me if you're unsure. I look forward to talking with you with the possibility of exploring the location you and your pets lovingly call 'home'. Thanks for reading my profile and hope to hear from you soon :) Kindest regards Juanita
