We are a early age retired couple who now travel New Zealand in our small bus. We would like to spend the cooler months house sitting to give us a break from the bus and stay a bit warmer. Before owning the bus we stayed at a lot of Airbnb places and always got a glowing review. We are animal lovers. We have always had a dog but since the passing of the last one we haven't got a new one as we often stay at campsites where dogs aren't allowed. We do miss not having a dog. Toni has done dog agility and training for many years and has a love of horses with a small amount of experience with them so is very capable of caring for one for a short time. I also have experience caring for reptiles and I used to have pet reptiles in Australia. We are a mature aged couple who have both owned our own homes as well as renting. We feel we have respect for others people's belongings and can assure any home owner that we will do our best to ensure no harm comes to either their pets or their house or belongings. We both enjoy outdoor activities as well as just chilling out at home. Due to our nomadic lifestyle there is a high possibility we may not be able to have a face to face meeting before either you or we decide to accept a housesit, but we would always be available for either a phone or video call. If you cannot accept us for a housesit without a face to face meeting please do not consider us.

I am an African girl who grew up in a big farm with my big family of 8 people. My Farther was a teacher and a farmer. Growing up, I have been around nature and we kept animals like cows, pigs, dogs, poultry and cats have been our faithful neighbours and companions. My Husband Godwin and I met while studying in China. One of the common things we have is the passion for travelling and appreciating God's creation in diversity and the beauty around. Because of this, we decided to embark on a world tour. one trip led to another and here we are in New Zealand. By the way, ours is a story of West meeting East for he is from West Africa and I am from East Africa. My Husband enjoys cooking, playing football and gardening. He transformed my sister's dying flowers to a wonder garden. He always wowed out visitors with his Ghanian cuisines. On the other hand, there is me, who is not a fan of cooking but I enjoy cleaning. We call ourselves key and lock because we complement each other. I enjoy poetry a lot. I have written a few pieces and I hope to publish my book some day. Together, we would like to do housesitting for the purpose of saving money towards purchasing our home here in New Zealand. Also we would like to explore different parts of Auckland while giving peace of mind to people with our passion to travel while we take care of their pets and properties. I have evening free as I work from 7 am to 3 pm. Therefore ample time for taking pets for walks and taking care of the house. My Husband works 10 am to 6 pm therefore he can take care of any thing that needs to be sorted out in the early morning hours. Hi there my name is Hollie, I’m 38 years of age. I have been working abroad for 10 years, living in America, London and Australia. Moving back home in 2020 due to the borders closing. I work as a consultant in FMCG where I work a combination of wfh and being out on the road. I have however been in the cosmetic industry as a Business Development manager for 15 years. I’m a retired pet lover but because I often go to Auckland to visit family I can’t have a pet of my own. Because I am often in Auckland I could possibly be available for in person interviews for Auckland sits. I grew up in Auckland but have lived in Opotiki for 18 years and love it here. I don’t live in the township but in the very small beach suburb of Tirohanga, only one house back from the beach. There are 30 houses/baches and about half of them are holiday homes. Of the other half at least 40% are occupied by retired people. Lots of them have pets and I fill my animal craving by frequently visiting them. I’m even lucky enough to have a nearly daily visit from my neighbours cat, “Smoke” I can’t see the beach but at night I can hear the waves crashing. I’m physically fit and as I live near a beautiful beach I walk on the beach or cycle track daily. I do 20 to 40 minutes with the occasional 60 minutes thrown in for good luck. I love to read and play board or card games, especially word games. I’m enjoying my retirement but feel like I need to stretch myself a little and house sitting will do that. I’m a gregarious but also very happy with my own company as long as I have a book to read! I’m definitely conscious and reliable as my references will concur. I'm generally adventurous, I grew up as a farmer's daughter, so I appreciate animals and the environment. I have two adult children, one nearby in New Plymouth and the other in Australia. I recently returned from Australia where I had one house-sitting position and three woofing placements. My main past times are gardening, riding my electric bike, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the years I've had numerous significant pets. My first was a calf that I cared for and trained. Because of my fondness for her, my Father kept her until I was seventeen when I went to the Waikato to qualify as a Nurse. Another pet I was particularly fond of was a canary, which sang beautifully and I called him Gusto. Unfortunately, he died during covid. More recently I had a stray cat that determinedly made herself home with me. Pets are great companions and I appreciate them very much. I began house-sitting before retirement, and have cared for cats and dogs, plus a few sheep and a donkey. These situations have been for family, friends, and acquaintances for periods of almost a week to a month.

I am a 77 year old ex-South African. Retired but still doing some consulting, remotely. Full driver's licence. I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. Hey hi hello! We are an easy-going kiwi couple (29 & 27) who are coming up 6 years together, currently living in Point Chevalier, Auckland. We have lived in New Zealand most of our lives in Taranaki, Tauranga, Wellington and now call Auckland home. Libby works in communications for a couple of non-profit organisations including Endometriosis New Zealand. Gabriel is a qualified Electrician managing some major sites across the city. We fell in to house sitting years ago for friends, colleagues or friends of friends and family which then continued in to professional housesitting (on multiple websites) as we saw it provides us with a unique opportunity to explore different neighborhoods and ultimately decide where we want to put down our roots when we buy our home. We understand the importance of trust when it comes to letting someone into your personal space. We treat every home as if it were our own, maintaining a clean and organised space - reflecting our own house proud natures. Being an electrician, Gabe is a handy-man and will be happy to use his skills to ensure everything is maintained while we stay whether that's being a plant dad or tending to any house needs. We are therefore comfortable with bigger properties despite it just being the two of us staying. We are happy to provide our own linen/towels as we realise additional washing is the last thing you feel like after time away. Both of us share a deep love for animals and have struggled not to dive in to adopting pets while we are still finding our forever home (really struggled haha!). In saying this, we have a lifetime of experience having grown up with beautiful dogs and cuddly cats, and looked after the occasional feathered or finned friend too. We will give them all the love they want or just co-exist with them if they're more independent! Libby works from home permanently - aside from the odd meeting in the city - so will be readily available for attention and companionship <3 We are an active couple, big walkers and adventurers so would really enjoy including our new friends in that too! We take pride in our reliability and communication skills, keeping you updated with regular check-ins and photos to ease any concerns while you're away. He was very active and we walked twice a day. I volunteered for the Golden Retriever rescue for 6 years interviewing adopters, walking the goldens, and picking up very frightened golden's from shelters to bring into our rescue. I have always had a cat, the biggest love of them was 19 when he passed on. I have a 5 yr old rescue black cat. I also grew up with chooks. I've recently completed 79x Housesits since November 2022 in Grafton, Mt Eden, Mt Albert, Kohimarama, Glendowie, Bucklands Beach, Howick, Botany, Pakuranga, Stonefields, Flat Bush, Parau, Titirangi, New Windsor, Onehunga, Remuera, Favona, Papatoetoe, Hillpark, The Gardens, Randwick Park, Conifer Grove, Waiata Shores/Takanini & Te Kauwhata. Housesits have been from overnight to 9wks; looking after beautiful dogs & cats (aged 17wks old to 17yrs old) with specific dietary & medication requirements (for asthma, anxiety, arthritis & Addison disease); tropical fish, pond fish & laying chickens; maintaining their homes (some with pool/spa), watering vegetable garden & plants. I've been successful to have callbacks from these for May, June & August; with new bookings in April, July & August. A homeowner can expect me to be very clean, tidy & respectful of ones property, as I am an ex-Commercial cleaner having worked in hotels, Auckland University & a college. Hobbies are currently watching movies, relaxing to music & meditation. I do not own any pets, however I do appreciate them & would be a great caregiver for your precious fur babies. I have had pets all my life (cats, fish, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, chooks, a dog, and bees), but am currently pet-less due to some life changes. I now live just north of Auckland which means I sometimes need to seek overnight stays in the city and have built up a bit of house/cat/plant and garden-sitting experience within my friend circle. I also fostered cats of all ages for a while, many with socialisation and/or medical requirements. I speak fluent 'cat' (have been called a cat whisperer before haha) - not as fluent in 'dog' admittedly, but happy to look after well behaved dogs and generally have enormous love for all animals. I will be working during daytime hours however – sometimes from home and sometimes away from home – so only morning and/or evening walkies would have to suffice for dogs. So a little about us: We are a professional couple in their 50's. We are both working full-time in Auckland, but Craig does shift work so there is a lot of time that he is home when I am at work and vice versa. Prior to moving into our apartment we had both cats and dogs as our pets and these were brought up with our three kids, and we have loved interaction with animals that we have been lucky enough to get to know over the last year. If we can assist you by providing safe secure environment for your pets whilst you are not there, we would be delighted to do so. We always treat the home as if it is ours and respect the rules of the house and how you want our interaction with your house and animals to go. I (Julie) am a 5th generation Aucklander and I grew up with two dogs (lab X & mastiff/ridgeback X), four cats, budgies, chickens and even looked after our uncles pet pig! There was always a cat or two on your lap at home, with a dog asleep on your foot, a budgie on the shoulder. I love the fact that we are able to introduce our grandkids to how to treat well with animals and see them grow to love them as we do. Craig (6th generation +) hails from Wellington and now an Aucklander. He has been employed in a senior management role in the government for over 20 years here in Auckland (so I have told him that makes him an Aucklander - but he is apparently only an Aucklander, when Auckland wins in sport!)- and was brought up with smaller dogs (terriers & pugs) and cats. As he works shifts he is often available in the day to walk dogs/ have the cat curl up with him! I specialised in filming pet food TV commercials where I developed a knack for patience and perseverance to relax animals in order to get those magic natural shots that pet owners love. I worked closely with Mark Vette and Flip Calkoen over many years to develop this special relationship. Everyone's pets are different and require careful handling, especially when their owners are away for a week or two. I try to create a seamless transition to avoid any unnecessary disruption to their routine. I have owned quite a few interesting dogs over the years including a cocker spaniel, a doberman, blue healer and a border collie black lab x, plus several lovely cats. I am a 70 year old single male with 3 adult children and 5 grand children. I lead a fit and healthy lifestyle. I have always had a cat and dog as I believe they add something unique to our lives - especially with a young family. I am also very 'house proud' and a home handyman which comes in handy when little things go wrong. As you leave your home is how you will find it when you return. I have recently house sat for a number of people with pets and loved it. I believe that trust is paramount when you are caring for someone's home and pets.When I take on this responsibility I do so with total commitment. Plus I have always had a very caring nature when it comes to animals which puts them at ease. I have a large station wagon perfect for transporting wet dogs to and from their favourite beach or park. Dear Homeowner, We are Carolina, Tomás, and our little daughter Emma—a loving, responsible family excited about the opportunity to care for your home and pets as if they were our own! I (Carolina) am from Argentina, 39 years old, and currently on maternity leave from my role as an accountant in a software company. When I’m not doting on Emma, you’ll find me playing hockey, hitting the gym, or indulging in chocolate and Netflix—my ultimate guilty pleasure! Being home most of the time means I have plenty of availability to care for and keep your pets company, whether it’s cuddling with a cat or taking long strolls with a dog. Tomás, 43, is from Chile and an Industrial and Logistics Engineer currently studying for his Operations and Logistics postgraduate degree. He is a passionate marathon runner (having completed over 18 races!), currently training for the Sydney Marathon, and absolutely adores dogs. If your furry friend loves long walks or runs, they’ll have the best companion in him! Emma, our 6-month-old Kiwi daughter, is growing up surrounded by love, and we believe house-sitting is a wonderful way to introduce her to animals early on, fostering kindness and affection toward them. We live in Forrest Hill, but since our home doesn’t allow pets, we see house-sitting as a fantastic opportunity to care for animals while also exploring different neighborhoods before settling down permanently. OUR PROFILE We are, Ken and Sharron and we would like to house sit for you. Let us tell you a little about ourselves. Ken grew up in a seaside town in country Victoria, Australia. Ken travelled with some friends throughout Australia, then it was onto New Zealand arriving in 1977. He immediately got involved in the local Aussie Rules League. Ken has worked in various industries and is currently employed at Northpower as an Electrical asset inspector. Sharron grew up in the Waikato and has spent all her adult years in Auckland. Growing up she had all types of pets - ducks, lambs, calves, cats and small dogs. Sharron has worked in the health sector for 40+ years and has held various positions for those years, the last few have been as a medical practice manager. We have been together for 32 years and own our own home. We have a daughter and a 5-year-old granddaughter living with us. When the COVID restrictions ended at start of April they returned from Australia. We now have a new cat (Ralfie) which we all love and adore. We both enjoy the company of cats and small dogs. We are not averse to calm larger dogs. We can adapt to look after all types of pets except snakes!!!!! Ken never liked them. We both like taking long walks and Sharron has been known to walk a half marathon without any training – result, painful blisters afterwards. Sharron loves the beach, cycling and knitting in winter. Ken enjoys being out in the garden and watching sport on the TV. We both enjoy travelling and a night out at a restaurant with friends.

I arrived in back NZ early 2022 after spending 19 years in Canada. My husband passed away in 2021. Quite the battle to get into MIQ to return home, with the lotto draw they installed !!! I house sat before leaving for Canada in Omokoroa and Mount Maunganui. One was an Avocado Orchard and they had 70 Parrots in aviaries on the property, such fun. I have been the proud owner of 5 rescue Old English Sheepdogs.. not all at the same time !!!! so I know about grooming. My last dog Boomer was 116lbs, (52.5kg) a big strong boy and the light of our lives. In 2020 we started to foster dogs brought up from Texas from the "high kill" pounds. Copper was our first, A Walker Coon Hound... never heard of them before and what a delight with his howl. I will leave your home as you left it though I do enjoy gardening and cleaning windows... My hobbies are reading, walking, knitting and TV..... I am a friendly person. get on with most people, I am the listener not the talker... Having recently moved towns, I have left behind 10 garden customers, mainly older people who are no longer physically able to tend their own gardens. I have especially enjoyed all their different gardens and also getting to know them all. For 19 years I managed our 100 acre beef farm while my husband did contract work while also home educating our 4 children. During these years, while the children were still at home, we had a number if cats which we all enjoyed. There was one which we especially loved. It was a large grey cat which my son named Chouna. We put our house up for rent and the three of us left in September 2024 to take the trip of our lives, to leave for 10 months around Asia and Oceania. After traveling through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and New Caledonia, we will arrive in New Zealand at the beginning of March! We want to be itinerant until the beginning of May, about 2 months in a van. We are therefore looking for pet sitting/house sitting missions for about 3 weeks from the beginning of May to the end of May, we are flexible for the dates end of April-mid May :) We see this experience as a global immersion in a local life with the little extra thing of being able to take care of animals. We have always had in our lives the presence of animals (cat, dog, rabbit, chicken, tortoise) we also have experience for animals with particularities (deafness from birth for our dog for example adapted with sign language) or if there is care to be done or treatment to be given with chronic diseases. Walks, games and cuddle sessions will be the daily life of your animals by our side We have owned our house with garden for many years, we have also been Airbnb hosts, carrying out interior/exterior maintenance is therefore not a problem. At 31 years old, I have immersed myself in the rewarding world of pet and house sitting full-time since May 2023. Kia Ora My name is Christine, I'm 55 yrs old and only moved to Auckland in January 24, after running a Massage clinic on Great Barrier Island for 17 years. Tuesday to Thursday, I study Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture at the College for Chinese Medicine in Ellerslie, Fridays is zoom classroom, Monday is time to relax & home study. But if needed I can anytime study from home and during Term holidays I would be around your pets 24/7. I am flatting with a friend in Glenn Innes, so house sitting is a great way to give her some space and myself some looking after beautiful pets, as I had to leave my gorgeous Foxy named Kahu behind. Also, living on Great Barrier by the beach and lots of bushwalks on my doorstep, I really appreciate taking dogs for a run. I grew up on a dairy farm in Bavaria, Germany surrounded by cats, dogs, chooks and other animals, I am an experienced and a very caring and loving pet mother. In my downtime on Great Barrier, I volunteered for St. Johns as a first responder, where I was a keen and trusted volunteer member under Adam Johnston, so police check is nothing new to me. Apparently, I am a very tidy and quiet person, don't smoke or drink and love cleaning the house or doing the dishes, as I find it meditative and relaxing. Also, studying late in my life is fun and I am focused on spending the weekends with my daughter who is boarding in Auckland. I am financially independent, but looking after big homes and pets is what I used to do (privately) on Great Barrier Island as a favor towards friends or even Massage clients owing a holiday home there. Newly retired Grew up on a farm so was used to (3)dogs from a very young age and we had a cat too. We had 150 cows a few sheep and 40 odd chocks as well. My grandmother supplied the local shop and she also keeps bees! My main interests are modern history and modern architecture and vintage engineering (cars aircraft trains and radios). Sold house in Takapuna and given away almost all my possessions. Intend to travel for the next 8 or 9 years including spending time with my wife in Melbourne. We are the lucky ones. We get to travel, explore new places, meet new people and look after your pets. My husband Steve and I have 4 grown up daughters, and 3 delightful grandchildren. We have worked hard in our lives, and our time to explore, travel and see our beautiful country is now. We have both been brought up on Dairy and Sheep/Beef farms. We have a small lifestyle block (12 acres) near Taupo where one of our adult children lives. We are very experienced with animals and currently have on our farm, horses, cows, a dog, chickens and a couple of cats. We have previously had beef steers and sheep, including lambing. We have a deep love of animals and both Steve and I are active relaxers, which means your dogs will get loads of walking, activities and cuddles while you are away. We are confident with large animals and will not hesitate to phone a vet in any circumstance. We will love and care for your animals (slightly obsessed with them), so you can go and enjoy travelling of your own. We are very tidy and will take great care of your home. If you need us to mow your lawns. we can do that too.

Warm greetings, my name is Kirsty and I am wife to Richard and Mum to two lovely daughters who are 9 and 5. We are ex Aucklanders who moved to Wanganui in 2019. I am a full time Mum (with a background in Event Management), my husband owns his own building company. We are a Christian family who love music, theatre, nature/outdoors, singing, reading, animals and travelling. Our reasons for wanting to house sit are two fold. 1) For opportunities to stay in Auckland for longer term visits to see our family who we really miss and 2) We absolutely love exploring our beautiful country, but as living costs increase it's becoming harder and harder to have holidays away. We usually stay in air bnbs, but house sitting would help us out immensely. We are home owners in Wanganui and we have also extensively used air bnbs to take our girls on mini breaks away. All our reviews from staying in different homes have been A+. We also personally keep a very tidy, organised, clean home in Wanganui. Although we don't own a lot of pets (currently two cats), we love animals! We are very caring by nature and very frequently visit friends farms in Wanganui who have a wide range of pets/farm animals which our girls love to experience. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. Our girls are also very respectful and tidy and absolutely love nothing more than 'playing house' when we go on holiday. I believe this would be replicated if we were to house sit. I have recently found myself looking for a new place to live and have decided to focus on saving a few extra dollars towards a home deposit by venturing back into the world of house-sitting which I did in my early 30's for a period of time. I work part-time as both a Physiotherapist and an Chartered Accountant. My Accountancy work is remote. The only day that I struggle to be home for long periods of time are Tuesday as this is the one full day that I spend in the clinic with clients. I consider myself to be honest, respectful and trustworthy and take great pride in keeping the environments that I am in both clean & tidy and equally leaving them in a better state than in which they were entrusted to me. I love the outdoors and keeping active and healthy and with this I do not smoke (and would therefore not be interested in homes if you are smoker sorry) and love taking dogs on runs / walks with me. As far as personal interests - I am a keen hiker, surfer, sailor, runner (obviously) and definitely enjoy yoga. I have been brought up around animals - I love them - they bring so much joy to our lives! You can be sure that I will love and care for your "family members" as if they were my own. In fact, that's probably the hardest thing about house sitting is not able to take my new found friends with me! I will treat your precious home with respect as if it were my own. My children and I lived on a 10 acre block in Waimauku for several years and cared for a variety of animals including cats, dogs, hens, sheep, cows, and the occasional rabbit and duck! Because of Geoff's years spent at sea his opportunities to care for pets have been limited, but in his younger years his family owned cats, dogs and budgies. Geoff and I spend the summer months,October through to April, in New Zealand, which is when we are available for house sitting. We have a yacht berthed in Penang, Malaysia, and we are there during New Zealand's winter months. Geoff has spent nearly 13 years cruising in South East Asia, and I joined him in 2012. Geoff is a shipwright and is capable of servicing a wide range of appliances, machinery etc.He served in the New Zealand navy for 8 years and after leaving he worked as a commercial diver whilst building his first yacht. After sailing for many years in the Pacific, Australia, Africa and Europe, he settled in Brisbane, where he set up his shipwright business. He then built his second yacht and set sail for South East Asia. My previous working life involved a variety of positions, including working as a supervisor in a childcare centre in Waimauku, Auckland, and then as a sterile services technician at North Shore hospital in Auckland. I have two sons who live in the Netherlands and Belgium, and 1 grandson. Because of our lifestyle on the yacht we are organised and tidy in our habits. We enjoy exploring new environments, so house sitting promises to be a great way to meet new people, have some much-needed interaction with animals again, and reunite us with different parts of our country after being away for so many years. Recently my 15 coloured sheep and their new lambs have been sold. Caring for others (humans and animals) is what I do best.. Until his recent death I cared for my 86 yr old family friend who had health problems. This enabled him to remain living in his own home. We are a professional couple taking time out from work to travel and spend time with family. We are 58 and 59-years-old, have been married for 39 years and have three grown up children. We have over 15 years experience caring for and loving pets whilst their Mum and Dad are away. Over these years we have been in lots of different house/pet-sitting situations. One of our first pet sits was for a gorgeous old Collie dog who had diabetes and needed daily injections. He also had two sisters who were cats and we looked after them all for many years. We started house sitting over ten years ago as a friend had 7 cats and was travelling for five months. We have cared for these cats over many years since. During this time, we have had to give medication, visit the vet and as the years progressed look after their personal care needs much more. We have also sat for three dogs for many years; a black Labrador, Chihuahua and a Border Terrier. We are both extremely, kind, loving and practical and have ensured that pets are cared for in the same way we care for our own pets. We treat your babies the same way as we treat our own, giving them our time and immense affection and kindness. We are both at home all day so can give your pets all the attention they need. We love animals and have also spent some time helping look after pigs, hens and horses. I was a Trustee for a small city farm and my husband managed areas of the same farm. We are asked again and again to house sit because we are careful to keep your house beautiful and send regular pictures and updates of how happy your pets are. I always cook a meal for the returning home owner and replenish their fridge. My husband is extremely able around the house and land and people are happy to see their grounds kept well. I was an Education Consultant before retiring. I am also a keen cook and house maker. My husband has been a Social Care Manager for many years, as well as buying, renovating and selling properties. I am a very fit and active retiree. I left the workforce eight years ago to travel to various parts of the world, including some of NZ which I hadn’t yet been to. I have been involved in sport all my life and interested in organics and sustainabilities for many years, so decided to become a Woofer (Willing Worker On Organic Farms). I have thoroughly enjoyed all my placements in NZ, Australia, USA and Portugal. I have visited places and met people that I would never had the chance as a tourist and learnt about growing fruits, vegetables and raising animals in an totally organic and sustainable manner. I have looked after many animals and learnt how to give back to the land for future harvests. Six years ago in 2018 I bought a lifestyle property in the Far North, so have not been able to travel as much, or house sit as I used to, while working hard on my land. Now however I have more spare time, & look forward to being able to travel in NZ. I currently work on my orchard of 100+ trees of every description imaginable, & 4 large vegetable plots. I farm totally organically, eat in season, & am self sufficient(++) with fruit, vegetables & eggs from my 5 chickens. I am able to swap my excesses for milk, meat, cheese & bread! I feel very fortunate. I also have extra acreage which I use for growing grass, (local farmer makes hay in summer). I have also done two caminos (long walks) in both France, and Portugal into Spain. These were 750 and 700km respectively, in 2014 & 2017. My most recent was from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. I have been a proud homeowner since 1980. As a house sitter, you will have someone with old fashion values of care & respect for your property, a good work ethic, totally reliable & honest. As for pets, when my children were growing up, we had a Staffordshire bull terrier, rabbits, cats, cockatiel and baby goats. Currently I have 5 chickens. While woofing I have looked after lots of dogs, cats, goats (learnt to milk), chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, and loved all those times. My woofing hosts would sometimes leave me to house sit at weekends, or in one case, for 10 days when an unavoidable event happened. On that occasion I looked after a small farmlet of goats, cows chickens, vegetable garden, orchard....the entire property. I loved the challenge and was totally equal to the task of overall management. I love outdoors work. Obviously I enjoy walking, so dogs love me for their twice daily long walks. In the past we have owned a small lifestyle block on which we ran dry stock, raised calves, tendered to our chickens. Our black Labrador, Luke enjoyed farm life along with his pal Smoky our cat which out lived him by reaching the grand age of 18. Presently we are pet free due to a clause we have in a crosslease agreement forbidding animals. However we frequently look after our daughters family dog Mia an anxious Labradoodle and a frisky cat called Misty. Hi there, Thanks for your time. My name is Stephen and I'm a mature, quiet, well adjusted person in his 60's whom loves cats, dogs and most other animals. My sister and I sold our family home in Auckland and decided to 'take a break' from it all and she suggested we try house-sitting. I see this as a win-win for all parties involved, especially the pets as they get to be looked after and cared for in their own home. I love helping owners relax when they go away, providing them with peace of mind knowing that all is well with their loved ones and home. Massimo, my Staffordshire Bull Terrier of 13 years past away in November 2015 (see photo in my profile) and I miss him dearly. This is also a great way of getting my regular 'pet fix' and enjoying a variety of new canine/ feline friends. As a keen photographer, I am also looking forward to exploring and taking some great shots of the local areas. I also love photographing pets whilst they're relaxed at home, so leave me a USB drive and there should be some nice portraits waiting on your return! For the last 20 years I've been working in the support side of Information Technology and will be using this time to research a new career in Organisational Development. This means I will be there for pets that are used to constant companionship as I have my own PC and will spend a fair amount of time on the internet doing this and other leisure activities. Their 'babies' were well loved & looked after. Mick is a keen diver and loves to get out in the garden, Tracey used to be a professional cleaner so keeping a home sparkling clean is my thing - I also love mowing lawns. We both love to walk and do lengthier hikes & can be found in the mornings trying to beat each other at Wordle & Quordle. We are both people who take pride and care not only in our home (including the grounds) but any home we visit or stay in. We absolutely both respect your home is your castle, that your pets are your joy and we want you to go away knowing we will love your animals and care for them & your house (and grounds if required) so you can just relax. Returning to housesits many times means I have developed some great friendships with both the animals and their owners, and also in some cases neighbors and friends in communities. We are both writers, working in the tourism sector, and we met in beautiful Bali where we have been living since 1998 and 2006. We have travelled extensively in Indonesia, including trips to some of the country's remotest corners. We have been together for 15 years, we got married in New Zealand in 2021, and we are now living our dream dividing our time between Bali and New Zealand with a little bit of England and Europe thrown in along the way. We spend five months in Bali each year, one month in Europe and the UK, and six months in New Zealand from December to June. We invite guests to stay in our house in Bali and do home exchanges when we are in New Zealand and Europe, hence us looking for some more places to stay in New Zealand. We are both animal lovers, having rescued numerous cats and dogs off the streets in Bali over the many years that we have lived here. They all became much loved members of our respective households until our last cat and finally our last dog crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago. We miss them terribly but when we made the lifestyle change to divide our time between Bali and New Zealand, we made the decision not to get any more pets. However, our love and respect for animals has not diminished and that is why we look forward to looking after other people's pets. We both work from home so will be around nearly all day every day to give your animals all the love and attention they need. What you will get with us is two very caring, professional, respectful people who understand the need for absolute trust on both sides when looking after other people’s cherished homes and beloved pets. Hi, I am an empty nester, and would love an opportunity to house sit and look after pets. I have raised three children and over the years I have had and have cared for numerous pets. Growing up, my family had a Samoyed dog and two cats. My father was also the local dog walker and I often walked the dogs as well. When I was a stay at home mum,I developed a reputation for being a foster mother for many animals. I have adopted bunnies, guinea pigs and 8 hens from friends who could no longer care for their animals. On top of this, I transformed our 1/4 acre section into a stunning garden and started a tutoring business. When friends went away,I would care for their animals either at their homes or at my home. Once I looked after a rabbit that needed daily injections for eight weeks . Currently, I am a house owner and I have a rental property in Auckland.I also teach full-time at a girls school and am responsible for the learning support department. With the goal of one day retiring outside of Auckland I would love an opportunity to look after someone else’s home and animals and explore other parts of the country. I am in my happy place with animals and nature and I am very fit, energetic and reliable. I enjoy road cycling, walking, yoga and swimming. My day typically starts at 5.30 am with a walk before work and finishes with another walk and sometimes yoga. At weekends, I cycle regularly 50 -70 kms for leisure. My other interests are vegetable gardening, reading and cooking. I have excellent communication skills and would look after a property and pets with the same high level of care and consideration I apply to my own properties and pets.

We are a healthy and fit couple in our late 60s (non-smokers), originally from The Netherlands, who have sold our home last year. Currently we are waiting for our new apartment in Northcote (Auckland) to be completed (expected settlement early 2025) and looking after other people’s houses has proven to be a great way to bridge that period and to have a change of scenery after we’ve moved into our new apartment. We have quite a number very successful house sits already and loved the experience. We ran a Homestay/B&B in Wellington for more than 6 years, so we are experienced with looking after accommodation and we know the importance of keeping a house clean, tidy and well presented! We have always taken pride in our house, which was very obvious when the real estate agent who sold our current house remarked that she wished everybody’s house looked like this. Jos is retired, while Lucien still works full-time as a software developer from home, so at least one of us will always be there to keep your dog company. A fast and reliable internet connection is the only ‘must’. We have had dogs and cats ourselves - Golden Retrievers for many years, and a sweet little Cavoodle for the last 12 years (who sadly passed away last year) - and we have been looking after cats, dogs, houses and the occasional chicken for months now, so we know how to care for animals, and are happy to care for yours. When you select us as your house sitters you can expect that we treat your house, belongings and pets as if hey are our own, with care, dignity and respect.

I am a professional employee with a leading NZ fund manager who deals with private clients, and I now live in Hawkes Bay after living in Auckland for over 20 years, so I am familiar with the city. I also work from Wellington at times where I rent a property for which I pay an extremely reasonable rent largely because I'm a very good careful tenant. I am married with 3 children but when coming to Auckland I travel with my twin boys aged 11. I am house proud, the owner of a villa with a pool and my boys respect other people's property and are very much "look but don't touch". I have no hesitation or worries about them respecting other people's property. I prefer staying in a home as opposed to somewhere like a motel as I prefer peace and quiet. Last year we stayed in someone's home with 2 cats and fish. I have lived in a home with dogs and cats at various stages and was brought up on a farm so enjoy animals and don't mind walking the dog or whatever has to be done. I think I'm very responsible, treating other people's homes as I treat my own home. I was brought up that way so it's just normal behaviour. I'm observant and notice things easily. If AKL has torrential rain check windows, drains and for any leaks etc. Don't leave the house with windows open, bring in rubbish bins, water plants if that needs doing, take your shoes off. After attending to the house and any chores we normally go out and return later to have diner and then the boys are on their iPads. We have a relaxing time and enjoy being together. We don't usually entertain guests when house sitting as we go out visiting family and friends. I'm careful in the kitchen, not accident prone and don't have difficulty following any instructions. I don't smoke or partake in drugs and drink very little. Most of my time is taken up with the children and all their activities, work and maintaining the house and garden. Outside of that I like all types of music, history, movies and of course the iPad!

When I was married and we bought our first house, having pets was a top priority. After 3 years we had 3 cats (Tabby, Tina and Kate) and 2 Beagles (Tony and Lucy). I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. I no longer have pets of my own so I would really love the opportunity to care for yours, either outside of Auckland when I ready for a break or in Auckland for a 'staycation' I am mature, responsible, respectful and resourceful. I take a great deal of care and pride to ensure the property and pets I am entrusted with is cared for and looked after to the best of my ability. I do not mind a bit of additional effort to keep this clean/tidy. My 12 hour shift work may not be ideal for some pets though, it is a 4 days on/4 days off roster. My honesty and integrity are forefront of my daily routines, I get on well with all and have a genuine positive approach towards life. Kia ora, we are Rosie and Taz. We have lived in New Zealand since winter of 2022 and have been professionally housesitting for the last 18 months. Rosie's father is from NZ and Taz has extended family who emigrated here many years ago. We plan to make our long term home in New Zealand. We also have lots of experience housesitting for friends and family be it an overnight stay or multiple weeks of sitting. We started housesitting as an option from living and travelling in our van around NZ but now have our own home in rural Kerikeri. We find bonding with animals is often very easy and natural. In our personal lives we have cared for many dogs and cats in houseshares in the UK (where we lived previously) including rescuing and raising a GSD mix at 9 months old (Hank) between 4 friends. Hank is now 10 and thriving! We understand housesit-ees with rescue pets may have more concerns due to their pets rescue 'quirks' but want them to know we are very familiar with this territory. I have done a lot of housing sitting over the years and have cared for and feed many animals. Auckland for 3 months looking after dogs and cats. Farm animals or feeding chickens, which is no problem as I am a country girl at heart. I have had looked after 3 large dogs. One that required monitored medication daily and exercise. I have also had to feed unwell cats medicine etc and have no problem caring for your pets no matter what there needs. I enjoy the company of animals especially since I am away from home so much. I love all animals and especially their little characters. Whilst I am at home during the summer months, I used to host overseas students that come to NZ to learn English. I have had many students over the years, Swiss, Thai, Arabian, Japanese, Chiian, Brazilian. I have just sold my Parnell apartment and am not sure of my next move, so would like to take some time out to consider what that could be, hence the desire to become a house sitter. Life is one big adventure! I like to be kept busy; I love to travel, discovering out of the way places, meeting new people & embracing life. But my family pets have always been a top priority. House sitting offers some exciting opportunities, but more specifically it will provide me with the pleasures of 'adopting' your family pets, if only for a short time. (And, I certainly miss not having my own pet to care for). There has always been a cat or dog (or both) in the house and then there have been the children's tropical fish, German rat, guinea pigs, rabbits, and birds! We've even had a couple of cats 'adopt' us! I also volunteered for 18 months at a bird rescue centre a few years ago which was a very rewarding experience. From a young age until her early 20s, I also used to spend a lot of time at my aunt & uncles farm where they had a dairy herd, goats and a chicken run. Animals have always featured in my life. I have been fortunate to have had some wonderful House & pet sitting opportunities over the past 3 years (with a global house sitting company) looking after dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and birds - most of these sits were while I was based in the UK. I'm now cutting back on my time away from NZ and, after hearing very positive comments about The Housesitting Company, have decided to join so that I can focus more on NZ sits. Greetings Home and Pet Owners, Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Norman Ronald Mcfadyen. I was born and raised in Northumberland. My father and his ancestors came from the Isle of Mull, my mother’s from Northern Ireland. My accent is hard to place, as I have travelled extensively in my life and have had to learn to modify my accent over the years, to be comprehensible to others. I am a very friendly and gregarious soul, who loves the company of both people and animals. I have worked in mental health for over 30 years; initially, as a psychiatric nurse and later as a mental health clinician and therapist. I have also worked in performing arts for nearly as long, as a professional actor mainly. These days, I combine my love of theatre and education to teach others some successful strategies, to navigate the bumpy paths of life. I do a little bit of homeschool teaching and I am an instructor at the New Zealand Stage and Screen combat school in Birkenhead. I came back home to New Zealand in March 2020, after having lived back in the UK for a couple of years, looking after my father. I came back to Auckland for my son’s wedding and found myself marooned due to the Covid lockdown. My father died shortly after I arrived and therefore I have no need to go back in the UK. My life and living is very flexible as a single man of 54 years of age. I enjoy playing my ukulele and singing every day and have a successful Christmas business, portraying Father Christmas himself. I have had pets all my life, both cats and dogs, when living in my own property. Since being marooned here in 2020, I have missed them dearly. Past house sitting experience, France, for a friend on his farm, feeding chickens, cat and general care of his organic vegetable garden. Two weeks in 2013. was in Great Barrier Island, another friend who runs a retreat center called Wai Ora set on Medlands beach, this involved, keeping an eye on solar power system, security, garden, compost and the cat! Two weeks 2014. Other times in Auckland, while a friend visited UK, collected mail, fed cat, clean house, water plants, this lasted five weeks. At present restoring a colonial house in Leigh area, caring for cats, little goats, chickens and a dog, since then work has stopped. My latest Housesit was in Western Springs for ten days, the ginger cat Lucy had a stroke so needed a lot of care. Lucy loved to sleep on the bed with me, I loved having her close. The other cat Diesel was more independent. My other duties were watering the garden and collecting the mail. Also over the Xmas new year period I went to houses with sole purpose of feeding, patting and caring for four different cats. Also specialise in turtle minding, feeding for my son and his girlfriend. I am an animal lover who is kind and considerate who will care for your pets and house with love. I worked as an Account Director at an International advertising agency. Like many people who move back, it takes a while to adjust. Greetings and kia ora. My name is Tootje, and my husband, Kazen and I immigrated to beautiful New Zealand nine years ago. Because we pretty much had to start our lives from scratch (financially speaking), we haven't had much opportunity to travel this picturesque country we now reside in. So I guess you could say, one of the reasons we'd love to do more house-sitting is to have a change of scenery, see a little more of New Zealand and spend our free time enjoying a different perspective of its beautiful cities and towns. We're currently unable to care for pets of our own, and being animal lovers, we miss that interaction with furry friends. In the past (in South Africa) we've house-sat relatively frequently for friends and family, all of which had fur children. Because we come from a country that teaches one (quite quickly in life) to be aware of one's surroundings, we're very security conscious. So looking after your home, would be like looking after our own. In fact I'd say, that's the attitude we have in general - treat other's possessions as though they are your own. And that naturally, includes your pets. I've cared for a terminally ill pet for a month, and we've consoled and reassured pets that generally don't eat when their owners are absent for a while, to do so. We've snuggled and loved pets that just needed to feel at home and comfortable in their surroundings when mum, dad and kids stepped away for a few days, and generally just needed people to meet their basic, and not so basic needs. If you were to ask our friends and family what we were like as house-sitters, they'd say things like, "they always left the house cleaner than they found it". They were reliable, trustworthy, dependable, honest, respectful and never left the house during the duration of their stay, barring having to pop down to the shops for groceries. If you feel like we'd be a suitable fit, in terms of what you require as home and pet owners, we'd love to care for and secure your abode and cherished pets, whilst you're away from them. We are retired and are fit and young at heart. We have been house sitting for the last three years, both in New Zealand and Australia. We are super tidy, especially my wife! and we love pets. Until we traveled abroad for career purposes, we always had pets and dog for the family. When the children were little we had a pooch, black and fluffy for about 14 years, growing up they had the company of a black Labrador. Coming to Fiji we looked after our friends dog for 2 years, a large doberman, one that would lick you to death! And just lately again to help out friends going overseas for 12 months a beautiful German Sheppard and the cat, both couldn't live without the other, and together they provided most of the entertainment! I love walking, and it just isn't the same without a best friend. We know pets love routine, and we will enjoy to fit in with your regular way of looking after them. We are used to having pets, enjoy spending time with pets, and understand their needs of companionship. We have six children, all grown up with their own family. Having had a significant overseas and New Zealand based career, we have had the benefit of high end company homes to live in. References on how we looked after these homes are readily available.
