Greymouth is the largest town on the West Coast, a rugged and beautiful part of the South Island. It’s also the arrival point for the TranzAlpine train, regarded as one of the greatest journeys in New Zealand (and the world) as it traverses the Southern Alps. Greymouth is a great place to be if you like great beer as you can go on a tour of Monteith’s Brewery, which is based there. If beer isn’t for you, then there are still many other things you can do, including Shantytown Heritage Park, while about 45km north of Greymouth are the Punakaiki Pancake Rocks and Blowholes, which draw thousands of visitors a year.

Although I live with my daughter & her fiance I need my own space at times and find house sitting almost like a retreat, where I can enjoy solitude, and my art & yoga practice. Im interested in design and decor, and appreciate the creative expression of peoples homes and gardens. A beautiful house I sat in last year was a riverside property, with lovely views of water and trees. The two dogs Jasper and Toto were alot of fun.. My recent sit, in Turiko, required care of chickens and lawns, both of which I tended with care. As a sitter I live quietly. Because I love home Ill be at yours most of the time. If you have gardens Ill do a spot of weeding, am happy to mow lawns, and generally keep indoors and out neat and tidy. I walk most days and enjoy walking dogs, perferring smaller breds. Youll return home to find your house exactly as you left it, and if time permits, a casserole in the fridge and fruit bowl on the bench. Your home will welcome you back.

I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. I am a well experienced ,active retired Nurse who has her own small life style block where l encouraged nature, caring for animals and actively tramping with my two daughters . Because l travelled abroad with my Nursing qualifications (my daughters had left the nest l) l realised the adventure of house sitting with my profession went hand in hand . I travelled around Australia and with word of mouth, mainly my work colleagues l found another roll in taking care of a variety of animals / pets and then took an active roll after l was retired going to Europe with another house sitting organisation. I prefer to stay close in NZ now. I have worked all my life in various roles; Ive had experience in Office Administration and Community Support work and have a Master of Fine Arts from the Dunedin Art School. I was born in Christchurch. I lived 26 yrs in NZ and now 40+ in California. I go home to NZ once or twice a year. I have just said goodby to my 15 year old Mini Pinscher that I rescued at 1yr old. He was very active and we walked twice a day. I volunteered for the Golden Retriever rescue for 6 years interviewing adopters, walking the goldens, and picking up very frightened golden's from shelters to bring into our rescue. I have always had a cat, the biggest love of them was 19 when he passed on. I have a 5 yr old rescue black cat. I also grew up with chooks. I am a competent horse rider and will consider looking after most animals. Would love to throw on my gum boots and head out to the paddock to cover a horse or move an animal to another paddock. I am a Scottish country dancer and like to walk, garden, read and knit. I am willing to go anywhere in NZ and would prefer a rural setting. With more free time at our disposal house sitting becomes an attractive way to be useful to others as well as offering new experiences for us. We have travelled internationally for both business and family overseas, as well as extensively throughout New Zealand, and having lived long spells in Wellington, Auckland and now retired to Bay of Plenty. With the family overseas, often our time away has been for up to 3 months, and on those occasions we have had friends and others staying at our home. We know what it is like to make your home available to others who you are familiar with and some who you are not but still have that small apprehension about whether it will be ok. We know how you are feeling making this commitment. We have been long term dog and cat owners, and currently regularly play house parents to a friend's dog. Walking and appropriate exercise is not a problem. Other friends also call on us to house sit and mind their precious moggy, often for longer periods. With golf being a sport that we both enjoy, the opportunity to play courses in your region is an added appeal for house sitting. but also assures you that we are fit and able to walk as far as your pets need. Choosing us to look after your house and pets will give maximum assurance that all will be well cared for, and treated as if they were our own. Go on your holiday and relax and enjoy in the knowledge that everything at home is being well cared for. When we sit for you, your home and pets are our primary concern. We travel specifically for your sit, and make any of our other arrangements fit around the primary focus, which is you. We live in a motorhome and have housesat at a few homes which has been very successful. John has bred and shown dogs for 9 years and I grew up and had cats over many years. We have had positive feedback from homeowners as we have kept gardens tidy and get satisfaction from leaving a home cleaner than when we arrived. Not only that, but I get a lot of satisfaction in knowing that I’m providing a valuable community service, because the homeowners get to go away reassured that their pets are living relaxed and safe in their own homes instead of dodgy kennels and catteries, and also that their houses are being watched over and safeguarded from the crims. I have over 20 years of full-time dairy farming behind me, 14 of those years in sole charge management of dairy farms, so I’m the ideal minder for house sitting/farm sitting/relief milking combos. I have also worked with sheep, goats, and drystock cattle. On past house-sits and farm-sits I have looked after a wide variety of animal and bird life including cats, dogs, deer, cattle, sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, alpacas, rabbits, chooks, ducks, turkeys, doves, and frogs. I’m particularly fond of cats – you won’t find a better cat sitter. I’m a non-smoker and a quiet individual who is not into boozing, parties, and noise. I’m also a confessed homebody who prefers pottering around the property as opposed to galavanting about the countryside, so the homes and animals in my care are under constant watch. Clean, trustworthy, tidy, practical, adaptable, and with a good ounce of common sense, initiative and No.8 wire mindset. No task is too big or small. I bring to every house sit a professional attitude and a quiet and calming disposition that soon wins over the most timid of pets. I enjoy what I do and I take a lot of pride in my work. During my stay at your place, I will be in regular contact with updates along with photos and video clips of your pets so you can be assured they’re getting well looked after, if not a little spoiled. I cover all my own groceries, gas, and I have my own transport, complimented with a clean driver licence. Under my contents insurance I’m covered for legal liability in case of any accidental damage. In all my years of house sitting, I have never had to use that insurance. Nevertheless it’s there – for peace of mind for both parties. I also have two rental houses of my own. I thus know what it’s like to hand the keys over to other people, and trusting them to look after your property while they’re living there. My preferred locations are rural and coastal properties, though I do enjoy the occasional suburban assignment for a change. I don’t charge a cent to look after houses, pets, or lifestyle blocks. I never have and I never will. For me, house sitting is all about the lifestyle. My ‘payment’ comes in the form of free accommodation, free use of the utilities, and free access to the vegetable garden and orchard. I can’t justify charging fees on top of all that. The only times I would invoice the home owners is if I’m looking after a commercial business of theirs, such as a Bed & Breakfast, orchard, or working farm, or if I’m undertaking some ‘improvement’ projects for them, such as painting the wooden deck or planting new trees – things like that. With over 19 years experience under my belt, there’s very little about house sitting I don’t know. It's only relatively recently that I joined the House Sitting Company, but I have loads of verifiable references, with nearly 60 reviews on another house sitting website. We usually stay in air bnbs, but house sitting would help us out immensely. We are home owners in Wanganui and we have also extensively used air bnbs to take our girls on mini breaks away. All our reviews from staying in different homes have been A+. We also personally keep a very tidy, organised, clean home in Wanganui. Although we don't own a lot of pets (currently two cats), we love animals! We are very caring by nature and very frequently visit friends farms in Wanganui who have a wide range of pets/farm animals which our girls love to experience. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. Our girls are also very respectful and tidy and absolutely love nothing more than 'playing house' when we go on holiday. I believe this would be replicated if we were to house sit. I live in the Hauraki area (Paeroa) and I like walking, gardening, food, being with friends and family, having pets as good company and am a champion for SPCA and WAP as animals need our help as well. I was raised on a dairy farm, lots of animals and pets while growing up and I live on a dairy farm at the moment, have been house sitting for my ex-colleagues as well for the last few years This included cats, dogs, sheep, cattle, chooks and an eel (enjoyed that). They have rebooked me again and again and I am happy to help them. Hi our names are Maryna and Neil, We are a retired couple and feel it is our time to discover the rest of New Zealand and while doing that, do what we enjoy and that is looking after peoples pets and a little gardening while we at it. We immigrated here 18 years ago and have been living in the Catlins ever since so love to explore . As we do not have animals of our own (not by choice) this will also give us a great opportunity to enjoy other people's pets while we are on breaks. We are reliable and trustworthy and are managing a holiday park in the Catlins. This is a 24/7 entity and being in hospitality means we know what is expected from cleanliness and client communication. Neil is a handyman and extremely keen garderner so finds himself very busy most of the time. We both are pet lovers and with previous housesitting experience in London, South Africa and in the Catlins, we have done a lot of dog walking, cuddling cats and even looked after pigs, horses and chickens. We both love fishing and used to take our doggies with us (back in South Africa) so they could have a good run around, and when given the chance they would steal some of our catch! Hi there, My name is Jeanette and I am 67 years old. I have been temping (well for the last 7 years) since selling my house . So I sold it and am currently house sit. In 2017 I had to put my 15 yr old labrador down and am holding off getting another dog until I have a permanent home again. However I miss having animals to come home to and love gardening so felt that house sitting would enable me to fill both of these passions. Housesitting will also enable me to save money while I am on a reduced income to build up my reserves. I was raised in Christchurch, Lower Hutt and Dunedin before returning to Christchurch at the end of my school years. I had guinea pigs and budgies as pets and a dog as I got older. More recently I have had a black Labrador whom I had to have put down last September at the grand old age of 15. I have also owned horses and have worked with sheep and cattle in my career in animal health. I am a responsible and respectful person who wants to help out families by looking after their property and pets while they are away. I am also very friendly and trustworthy and your pets will enjoy my company just as much as I will enjoy theirs. Hello House and Pet Owner. I am a recently retired lady who has plenty time now to care for your home and pets. Growing up on a dairy farm saw me having cats, dogs, chickens, cows, a horse, alpacas. Recently my 15 coloured sheep and their new lambs have been sold. Caring for others (humans and animals) is what I do best.. Until his recent death I cared for my 86 yr old family friend who had health problems. This enabled him to remain living in his own home. I supported him with his pet dog care, shopping, finances, house work, gardening and companionship for the last 10 years on a regular basis. I’m a tidy, quiet, non drinker, non smoker vegan and very reliable. Hobbies are reading, walking, cycling, travel and gardening. Family is important to me so I like visiting my 4 siblings and my 4 children. We are a professional couple taking time out from work to travel and spend time with family. We are 58 and 59-years-old, have been married for 39 years and have three grown up children. We have over 15 years experience caring for and loving pets whilst their Mum and Dad are away. Over these years we have been in lots of different house/pet-sitting situations. One of our first pet sits was for a gorgeous old Collie dog who had diabetes and needed daily injections. He also had two sisters who were cats and we looked after them all for many years. We started house sitting over ten years ago as a friend had 7 cats and was travelling for five months. We have cared for these cats over many years since. During this time, we have had to give medication, visit the vet and as the years progressed look after their personal care needs much more. We have also sat for three dogs for many years; a black Labrador, Chihuahua and a Border Terrier. We are both extremely, kind, loving and practical and have ensured that pets are cared for in the same way we care for our own pets. We treat your babies the same way as we treat our own, giving them our time and immense affection and kindness. We are both at home all day so can give your pets all the attention they need. We love animals and have also spent some time helping look after pigs, hens and horses. I was a Trustee for a small city farm and my husband managed areas of the same farm. We are asked again and again to house sit because we are careful to keep your house beautiful and send regular pictures and updates of how happy your pets are. I always cook a meal for the returning home owner and replenish their fridge. My husband is extremely able around the house and land and people are happy to see their grounds kept well. I am a very fit and active retiree. I left the workforce eight years ago to travel to various parts of the world, including some of NZ which I hadn’t yet been to. I have been involved in sport all my life and interested in organics and sustainabilities for many years, so decided to become a Woofer (Willing Worker On Organic Farms). I have thoroughly enjoyed all my placements in NZ, Australia, USA and Portugal. I have visited places and met people that I would never had the chance as a tourist and learnt about growing fruits, vegetables and raising animals in an totally organic and sustainable manner. I have looked after many animals and learnt how to give back to the land for future harvests. Six years ago in 2018 I bought a lifestyle property in the Far North, so have not been able to travel as much, or house sit as I used to, while working hard on my land. Now however I have more spare time, & look forward to being able to travel in NZ. I currently work on my orchard of 100+ trees of every description imaginable, & 4 large vegetable plots. I farm totally organically, eat in season, & am self sufficient(++) with fruit, vegetables & eggs from my 5 chickens. I am able to swap my excesses for milk, meat, cheese & bread! I feel very fortunate. I also have extra acreage which I use for growing grass, (local farmer makes hay in summer). I have also done two caminos (long walks) in both France, and Portugal into Spain. These were 750 and 700km respectively, in 2014 & 2017. My most recent was from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. I have been a proud homeowner since 1980. As a house sitter, you will have someone with old fashion values of care & respect for your property, a good work ethic, totally reliable & honest. As for pets, when my children were growing up, we had a Staffordshire bull terrier, rabbits, cats, cockatiel and baby goats. Currently I have 5 chickens. While woofing I have looked after lots of dogs, cats, goats (learnt to milk), chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, and loved all those times. My woofing hosts would sometimes leave me to house sit at weekends, or in one case, for 10 days when an unavoidable event happened. On that occasion I looked after a small farmlet of goats, cows chickens, vegetable garden, orchard....the entire property. I loved the challenge and was totally equal to the task of overall management. I love outdoors work. Obviously I enjoy walking, so dogs love me for their twice daily long walks. Furnishing a home can be costly so I always make sure when house sitting that I'm always cautious of peoples belongings. There's nothing worse than a carpet stain!! Campbell and Sheridan are a quiet, active, mature couple who have retired from teaching and midwifery. In the past we have owned a small lifestyle block on which we ran dry stock, raised calves, tendered to our chickens. Our black Labrador, Luke enjoyed farm life along with his pal Smoky our cat which out lived him by reaching the grand age of 18. Presently we are pet free due to a clause we have in a crosslease agreement forbidding animals. However we frequently look after our daughters family dog Mia an anxious Labradoodle and a frisky cat called Misty. I volunteer in the community and spend quite a bit of time walking, cycling, swimming and enjoying yoga. I have my own home which is easy care. I house sat for 2 years 2000-2002 minding cats and dogs and keeping the owners house up to scratch. I was often recalled when the home owners were away. I'm honest, trustworthy and reliable. I held a responsible position for 21 years as PA to a high profile NZ'er until retiring in 2021. I've travelled extensively over the years - lived in the UK for the usual two year OE in my twenties, then was seconded to Singapore for a further two years in 1998. During Covid we were limited to local travel which ticked a lot of boxes and have some very happy memories of travels round NZ, particularly the South Island. My husband and I are retired Kiwis living in Missouri, USA. We love the outdoors and enjoy tramping. I love gardening and we both love animals. We have two dogs that we periodically take care of in our own home when their owners go away. My husband John is a mechanical/combustion engineer and I last worked for an artisan goat cheese company. We have two adult children. Our son is married and currently has an almost 4yr old. They are expecting another child in September 2024. Our daughter is single and lives with a female flatmate. They all live in Christchurch. We first house sat in September/October of 2013 for a couple who went overseas for six weeks. This was arranged through church friends. In December 2022 we sat for two weeks in Chch and took care of a large golden labrador. In January 2023 we sat for five days and took care of two border collies, two cats and chickens. We then spent a long weekend in January 2023 and took care of two dogs and a cat. In December 2023 we sat for 5 weeks and took care of a cat, large garden and swimming pool in Chch. As a family, we have had cats, a dog, a rabbit, and fish. We have a hot tub and in our previous home we maintained our swimmimg pool. We take great care of both property and pets and endeavour at all times to ensure the happiness and well-being of animals in our care. We enjoy taking dogs for walks, as has been our custom with our own blue heeler for almost 17 years. We have had some interesting experiences with pets and believe that this has better prepared us for future house sits! We will be in NZ and available for house sits from mid February through late April 2025. We return to thr USA after that.

Hi my name is Jack and I'm looking for house sitting arrangements as part of a way to explore this country. Im a keen and active rugby player in England and I have worked and saved hard to travel to New Zealand for your summer. I work in a dog friendly hotel in many high responsibility roles such as, office work, resident management, general maintenance of rooms and gardening, barman and management of deliveries. A 'jack' of all trades, no pun intended! In these positions, personal hygiene is a must and something i personally take pride in. As we are a dog friendly hotel, even when I am at work I am still providing and caring for dogs. At home I take care of 3 dogs, a young puppy a middle child and a senior dog who requires extra attention. she takes regular medication which I administer and monitor. she recently had a large swelling in her face, a cyst of sorts which meant the use of other specialist antibiotics and ointments had to be used. Growing up I have never been without dogs and have lots of experience taking care of them. I am very active with them with regular walks. I love spending time with dogs and would like to have the opportunity to have this companionship along my travels. I will not be working in the time of house sitting arrangements so I will have plenty of time to spend with your pets should they be used to/need a lot of attention. we have a resident cat at the hotel as well which I am responsible for too. In terms of house care I am used to living on my own, washing, cleaning, bins, Laundry etc, so your house will be in safe hands along with your pets. If you were to choose me as your house sitter you can be guaranteed peace of mind knowing your dogs would be in very safe and experienced care. I am very proactive and confident in my duties.

I worked for many years in the Hair and Beauty industry as a Hairdresser and Beauty therapist. I have owned business and employed staff in the past. Many of these people I am still in contact with. On my return to New Zealand my desire to travel remained so I continued to move around seeing more of our beautiful Aotearoa. Among the animals I have cared for cats both indoor and outdoor, dogs large and small young and old, chickens ducks and fish and also some livestock. Returning to housesits many times means I have developed some great friendships with both the animals and their owners, and also in some cases neighbors and friends in communities. Both David and I grew up in cities, he in Illinois and me in Massachusetts. We met in the US Navy. David and I retired as Lieutenant Commanders from the United States Navy in 1994. Our duty stations have included Adak, Alaska; Norfolk, Virginia, Pensacola, Florida; and Honolulu, Hawaii. After retiring, I started and taught a Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Class at a Hawaii High School. We then moved to Billings, Montana, where we lived from 1996 to 2001. When our youngest of two children graduated from high school, we moved to rural Montana and built a log home, where we have lived since 2001. We have1 dog (miniature poodle), and numerous outdoor cats. I have also had birds (cockatiel, parakeet, finch & canary), guinea pigs and fish as pets. David also has a knowledge of beef cattle, goats, ducks, and chickens. My hobbies include vegetable gardening, bird watching, and needlework. David's main hobby is wood working. He works part time as a ranch hand and does odd jobs such as carpentry, plumbing and repairs. He has worked at farming for local ranches and has knowledge and can repair most farm machinery. We both spent 12 years as members of the local volunteer fire department, he as chief, and me as secretary treasurer. I also ran the weekly senior meal program in our small community for 17 years. Our son is a resident of New Zealand who met his New Zealand wife in Osan Korea. They live in Dunedin where he works at the University of Otago, and she is a teacher at a local school. This will be our fifth visit to New Zealand, and we have seen a lot of the country in the previous 3 visits. My sons' children are 20, 18, and 16. They live at the University. We would love to take care of your pets and home while you are away and while we are in NZ visiting my son and his family. We arrive the end of January 11, 2025 and will leave March 2, 2025. I am a mature single lady. I originally signed up for house sitting when I was going to be in between houses a couple of years back. Since then I decided it would be a good thing to do periodically. I would only house sit when I am on leave from work. This would mean I would not be leaving your pets alone for long hours. Hi, I am an empty nester, and would love an opportunity to house sit and look after pets. I have raised three children and over the years I have had and have cared for numerous pets. Growing up, my family had a Samoyed dog and two cats. My father was also the local dog walker and I often walked the dogs as well. When I was a stay at home mum,I developed a reputation for being a foster mother for many animals. I have adopted bunnies, guinea pigs and 8 hens from friends who could no longer care for their animals. On top of this, I transformed our 1/4 acre section into a stunning garden and started a tutoring business. When friends went away,I would care for their animals either at their homes or at my home. Once I looked after a rabbit that needed daily injections for eight weeks . Currently, I am a house owner and I have a rental property in Auckland.I also teach full-time at a girls school and am responsible for the learning support department. With the goal of one day retiring outside of Auckland I would love an opportunity to look after someone else’s home and animals and explore other parts of the country. I am in my happy place with animals and nature and I am very fit, energetic and reliable. I enjoy road cycling, walking, yoga and swimming. My day typically starts at 5.30 am with a walk before work and finishes with another walk and sometimes yoga. At weekends, I cycle regularly 50 -70 kms for leisure. My other interests are vegetable gardening, reading and cooking. We lived and worked in Christchurch for 22 years, before moving to Papamoa 9 years ago. When I was married and we bought our first house, having pets was a top priority. After 3 years we had 3 cats (Tabby, Tina and Kate) and 2 Beagles (Tony and Lucy). I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. Hello, we are Julie and Colin Brown. We retired to Manapouri. Fiordland 18 months ago. Prior to that we lived in Invercargill, when looking at retirement we decided to upgrade our family crib (bach) and move to live near our much loved Lake Manapouri. We have some spare time on our hands and decided that house sitting would be a way to get out and see more of New Zealand, to meet new people, see new places and make the most of our retirement. We had to say goodbye to our much loved 18 year old cat Connor a few months before we moved to Manapouri, so that was very sad. We have inherited quite a cats over the years, usually arriving at our home via the children and then we were left in charge. Colin has a bit of an affinity with birds, me not so much, although according to my mother our farm hens always loved me and followed me around.. We enjoy the company of dogs (nothing like a nice chat to a dog) and we both enjoy walking. We no longer have our own pet, but by looking after yours we still get to have that animal contact. Our animals of choice would be cats or dogs. We both enjoy being outdoors and Colin has a great vegetable garden and tunnel house. My garden these days is much smaller than it used to be but I still love getting out and poking around in it. We also both make use of the biking and walking trails in our area. and hope this summer we will get to make more use of the lake and get out to do some fishing. Colin is a keen whitebaiter, so definitely no house sitting for us in September or October (unless you have a stand nearby) that he can use. We would look after your home and animals as if they and it were our own. Neither of us have ever smoked, we do both socially drink wine or beer but otherwise feel we have no vices. We are clean, tidy, respectful and responsible. We would hope that you could feel secure to comfortably leave us to care for your animals and home.

Kia ora, we are Rosie and Taz. We have lived in New Zealand since winter of 2022 and have been professionally housesitting for the last 18 months. Rosie's father is from NZ and Taz has extended family who emigrated here many years ago. We plan to make our long term home in New Zealand. We also have lots of experience housesitting for friends and family be it an overnight stay or multiple weeks of sitting. We started housesitting as an option from living and travelling in our van around NZ but now have our own home in rural Kerikeri. We see housesitting as a great opportunity to explore NZ further and make some lovely furry friends along the way! We both work within landscaping and gardening. Taz has also worked as a builder and enjoys working on small building projects. Rosie has a Fine Art degree which she now uses to help inform her practice which is based mostly in upcycling textile waste and other materials. Between us we have a combined 14 years of experience within Festivals and Events which we have started to transition out of now we have our own home. Needless to say it made us both adaptable and resilient! A calm and collected approach to all challenges was needed - we carry that energy with us in all that we do. We find bonding with animals is often very easy and natural. In our personal lives we have cared for many dogs and cats in houseshares in the UK (where we lived previously) including rescuing and raising a GSD mix at 9 months old (Hank) between 4 friends. Hank is now 10 and thriving! We understand housesit-ees with rescue pets may have more concerns due to their pets rescue 'quirks' but want them to know we are very familiar with this territory. Patience and consistency are so important and we are happy to take on the routines needed so your pet is at their best while you are gone. We now live in our own house in Rolleston/Christchurch and would be delighted to take care of your loved ones and/or look after your property while you are on holiday, so we can get to know the country and have some time off as well. So far, we have done eight house-sits (also through other housesitting websites). Our responsibilities included caring for cats, keeping the garden nice and tidy, and managing an AirBnB while the homeowners were away. While we don't have pets ourselves (except an aquarium); we do love them and like to do stuff whatever is required to keep them happy and entertained. Kat grew up on a farm, so we are 'trained' in lifestyle animals as well. The pets need to be comfortable around kids though. They, in return, are also very gentle to them. My name is Aine and I am an Irish physiotherapist that has been living in New Zealand for the last 3 years. I work partially online and short shifts in a private clinic in Tauranga. I also very much miss my gorgeous St Bernard back in Ireland and so am keen to share some doggy love. Although a gentle giant, I am well used to handling and looking after a large and energetic dog. I have grown up with dogs and various pets and have quite often housesat for family members with pets in Ireland when they were away You can be guaranteed your house will be well looked after. I am pretty happy with my own company, and am neat and tidy. As mentioned, workwise I can be flexible based on your pet's routine. I will endeavour to respect the property + your privacy and will make sure looking after your pet is my top priority. More than happy to be flexible with working hours around this. I love getting out and about walking and hiking so will enjoy taking walks with pets.

Kia ora :) Antoine is from France and Pauline from Belgium, we have been in New Zealand respectively 3 and 10 years. Pauline studies full time in auckland so is bound to the city during school term. Antoine remotely works for a company based in Dunedin. Antoine's flexibility for work means he can travel around a bit. We currently live in Warkworth. Depending on the place and time, we could both be house siting or just one of us, eg auckland only for Pauline during school term. We had several experience house sitting friend's places and recently took up pet sitting to a more serious level :) We love animals but we are not in a position to have some at the moment, and we like to move around, so we thought house sitting would be a good opportunity to meet both those things. If there are cats involved, they won't be cuddle deprived as Antoine is crazy about them. We are both trained in permaculture, love gardening and work as gardeners and looking after properties so can easily keep an eye on your property. Hello ???? My name is Jojoy and I have lived a full and happy life. I love to travel and I have owned a few business and a farm. I live in a lovely tiny home in beautiful Golden Bay as I have recently sold my farm a d big villa to move onto a farm with my daughter and partner, his parents and two beautiful grandchildren.. It is wonderful to be there and support the whole family. I have no pets of my own as there is enough already on the farm. Dog, cats, horses, chickens, pigs, cows, goat. I love to exercise the horses and dogs. I am too young fit and healthy to just potter there all the time and I have house sat for lots of friends so they can go away. They have all loved my clean tidy easy going presence in their homes on their return. I love to explore new places, I love animals and Children and am happy to look after either. HELLLO! ? I'm Courtney (35 y/o web designing mum). My son, Marlo (nearly 2), and I are excited about the idea of house sitting! What a great idea! We LOVE pets, are extremely tidy, clean and respectful. Marlo is very cute and a good boy. I'd say we are kind, friendly and chill - early nights / cooking / baking / reading / and playing at the playground are what we love to do. We’re currently residing in my dads basement, so we can come and house sit at the drop of a hat. Long term would be preferred. As long as there is fast internet, heating, in a safe area, a secure carpark and TV we are good! (Depending on what pets you have - I might not be so keen on pitbulls or large dogs unless theyre old and really calm understandably with a todller around). Good morning/afternoon, I am a French 24-year-old guy, I was a civil engineer in France before coming to New Zealand - I arrived 3 months ago. I intend to visit the country from the end of February, and I am currently living in Wellington, where I currently work in security. I have been living in a proper flat with one kiwi flatmate for 2 months now. I want to visit New Zealand until mid-April, and then I will be looking for a job in Auckland. For my trip throughout New Zealand, I will be travelling with my French partner I have actually met here in Wellington. She is Audrey, a 26-year-old girl. She is really (really) kind, friendly but also serious and tidy. She speaks better English than I do, as she arrived in the country 10 months ago. Furthermore, she is very familiar with NZ culture, landscapes, fauna and flora as she has been planning this trip for 4 years. Her job is a freelance graphic designer, so she is used to remote working. She has been a house sitter several times. She has also done some couch-surfing many times with good reviews. We are both animal lovers. I have personally grown up with 2 cats at home, and I have always liked playing with my uncle's dogs. Audrey has grown up with an American Akita and also loves cats. Plus, she has been horse riding when she was younger. We are both clean, serious and tidy person. We really appreciate taking care of our living and working spaces. Hello, Vanessa and Marcel here. We have been house-sitting for the Housesitting Company since 2018 and have done about 20 house-sits right around the country. Vanessa grew up in Mount Maunganui and Tauranga but has more recently lived in Otago for the last 20 years. Marcel has lived in Otago most of his life. We now live in Invercargill where Vanessa is studying to be a Nurse, and Marcel drives a School Bus. We both love dogs and cats and have had our own pets in the past. Marcel has until recently had Labradors and a couple of cats. Vanessa has recently had both cats and dogs, Chocolate and Vanilla the cats, and Chico was a very much loved Tibetan Spaniel. We have mainly looked after cats and dogs, but also horses, rabbits, fish, and one Axolotl. Vanessa has studied the first year of Vet Nursing at Otago Polytech and gained a Certificate in Animal Care. We both love the outdoors hiking in summer and skiing in winter. Hello, I'm Katie Breckon, originally from Wellington, recently returned home to New Zealand after residing in northwest Australia since 2012. Currently, I'm based in Broad Bay, Dunedin as the Caselberg Trust artist in residence (March - May). I'll be at the Caselberg house until early June and have some time to explore the South Island before heading back to Wellington for another house-sitting opportunity in Roseneath late July. Whether at home or house-sitting, I'm a quiet, respectful, and creative person, finding joy in pursuits like photography, hiking, and mountain biking. Prior to my time in Australia, I taught Visual Art at Wellington East Girls College. Later, I transitioned into community arts, focusing on remote areas of northwest Australia. From 2012 to 2019, I worked full-time at Mowanjum Art and Culture Centre, eventually co-curating the Mowanjum Museum while also teaching at Derby District High School. Nestled near the famed Gibb River Road, I own a 10-acre property teeming with bushland and diverse wildlife. House-sitting is something I do often in New Zealand, with stays in various Wellington suburbs like Island Bay, Evans Bay, Eastbourne, and Wainuiomata. My reputation as an Airbnb guest is positive, with excellent reviews from homeowners in both New Zealand and Australia. As I travel frequently, I am unable to have any pets of my own. However, I regularly care for two cats in Wellington, a British Blue, and my 104-year-old grandmother's cat, Jetty. In the Kimberley, I've looked after two Australian cattle dogs named Bonnie and Clyde when their owner needed to travel to Perth for medical treatments. Growing up, our family had a mischievous and much-loved Golden Retriever called Ben. Later, I had Mingus, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Rottweiler cross. Although no longer practicing, it may be of some comfort to know that I studied Animal Nursing part-time over two years (1996 - 1997), during which time I worked in two veterinary clinics before embarking on overseas travels. This was some time ago but it's worth a mention as it demonstrates an interest in animal welfare.

We are non-drinkers and non-smokers and will endeavor to take the best care of any house, property and pets we are charged with.
