We are a semi-retired couple who like to take breaks away from our busy life in Raglan. I have various volunteer roles here, plus grandchildren, and Robin is a trauma therapist working from home - he retired from a medical career in 2020. We have used house sitters for our own home when we used to travel overseas for work and appreciated the security it gave us while we were away, knowing that our home and pets would be lovingly cared for. We would be very happy to provide this for other people. We are both very clean and tidy - we take pride in having a lovely comfortable home. My husband is also very handy (he also has an engineering background which helps here) and can usually fix almost anything! I love to cook, and enjoy gardening, walking and exploring new places. We also enjoy reading and various crafts. We have a cat, and three chickens at the moment. We have had a dog in the past (a beautiful border collie) but he passed away some time ago and because we were travelling a fair bit at that time we haven't got another dog.

I am an African girl who grew up in a big farm with my big family of 8 people. My Farther was a teacher and a farmer. Growing up, I have been around nature and we kept animals like cows, pigs, dogs, poultry and cats have been our faithful neighbours and companions. My Husband Godwin and I met while studying in China. One of the common things we have is the passion for travelling and appreciating God's creation in diversity and the beauty around. Because of this, we decided to embark on a world tour. one trip led to another and here we are in New Zealand. By the way, ours is a story of West meeting East for he is from West Africa and I am from East Africa. My Husband enjoys cooking, playing football and gardening. He transformed my sister's dying flowers to a wonder garden. He always wowed out visitors with his Ghanian cuisines. On the other hand, there is me, who is not a fan of cooking but I enjoy cleaning. We call ourselves key and lock because we complement each other. I enjoy poetry a lot. I have written a few pieces and I hope to publish my book some day. Together, we would like to do housesitting for the purpose of saving money towards purchasing our home here in New Zealand. Also we would like to explore different parts of Auckland while giving peace of mind to people with our passion to travel while we take care of their pets and properties. I have evening free as I work from 7 am to 3 pm. Therefore ample time for taking pets for walks and taking care of the house. My Husband works 10 am to 6 pm therefore he can take care of any thing that needs to be sorted out in the early morning hours. Home owners should expect high care for their property if they choose us. We are God fearing people and our core values are love, peace and integrity.

Steve and I have been married for almost 42 years and are semi-retired parents and grandparents. We are young at heart and enjoy spending time with our family, grandchildren, and friends. Steve is a part time IT contractor and often works from home. I also work part time, as a self employed private house cleaner. Working part time gives us both the freedom to enjoy not only our hobbies and interests but the grandchildren as well - we often pick them up from school and spend time together. In the past we have owned a small lifestyle block on which we ran dry stock, raised calves, tendered to our chickens. Our black Labrador, Luke enjoyed farm life along with his pal Smoky our cat which out lived him by reaching the grand age of 18. Presently we are pet free due to a clause we have in a crosslease agreement forbidding animals. However we frequently look after our daughters family dog Mia an anxious Labradoodle and a frisky cat called Misty. Campbell and Sheridan haven enjoyed their experiences looking after these much loved pets and would feel privileged to look after your treasured pets. We are home owners ourselves and are aware of the responsibilities of keeping your home clean and tidy. We have done, two year long teacher exchanges to the UK and Canada. Living in a small flat on a busy road we're unable to have any ourselves. We both grew up with pets. At a school age Amanda trained Portia their beloved family dog and went on to train other dog owners and also thoroughly enjoy agility. Hi there, Thanks for your time. My name is Stephen and I'm a mature, quiet, well adjusted person in his 60's whom loves cats, dogs and most other animals. My sister and I sold our family home in Auckland and decided to 'take a break' from it all and she suggested we try house-sitting. I see this as a win-win for all parties involved, especially the pets as they get to be looked after and cared for in their own home. I love helping owners relax when they go away, providing them with peace of mind knowing that all is well with their loved ones and home. Massimo, my Staffordshire Bull Terrier of 13 years past away in November 2015 (see photo in my profile) and I miss him dearly. This is also a great way of getting my regular 'pet fix' and enjoying a variety of new canine/ feline friends. As a keen photographer, I am also looking forward to exploring and taking some great shots of the local areas. I also love photographing pets whilst they're relaxed at home, so leave me a USB drive and there should be some nice portraits waiting on your return! For the last 20 years I've been working in the support side of Information Technology and will be using this time to research a new career in Organisational Development. This means I will be there for pets that are used to constant companionship as I have my own PC and will spend a fair amount of time on the internet doing this and other leisure activities. Having also owned my own home, I've had cats and/ or dogs for most of my life and will care and cherish yours as if they were my own and I know what it means to take care of and run a household. My sister Sarah is also a sitter with The Housesitting Company and is also doing some sitting through this organisation and we plan to over-lap our schedules so it is highly likely that she will be staying with me at times. You can rest assured that I will treat your home and privacy with care and respect and that your home will as be clean and tidy as you left it. I volunteer in the community and spend quite a bit of time walking, cycling, swimming and enjoying yoga. I have my own home which is easy care. I house sat for 2 years 2000-2002 minding cats and dogs and keeping the owners house up to scratch. I was often recalled when the home owners were away. I'm honest, trustworthy and reliable. I held a responsible position for 21 years as PA to a high profile NZ'er until retiring in 2021. I've travelled extensively over the years - lived in the UK for the usual two year OE in my twenties, then was seconded to Singapore for a further two years in 1998. During Covid we were limited to local travel which ticked a lot of boxes and have some very happy memories of travels round NZ, particularly the South Island. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. Hello my name is Dave! I am a very healthy and fit retired builder/joiner. For 30 years I ran my own building and joinery company. I have been living in Australia and have recently returned as the heat was too much for me! My lovely wife passed away a few years ago after 47 years of marriage. As I am on my own I feel housesitting would be a wonderful way for me to meet new people and see a little bit of New Zealand. I am a young and active senior who retired at Christmas 2021, I had worked with Ontario's largest Children's Mental Health Agency for 18 years. I am a non smoker and tea total (well coffee addict). I arrived in back NZ early 2022 after spending 19 years in Canada. My husband passed away in 2021. Quite the battle to get into MIQ to return home, with the lotto draw they installed !!! I house sat before leaving for Canada in Omokoroa and Mount Maunganui. One was an Avocado Orchard and they had 70 Parrots in aviaries on the property, such fun. I have been the proud owner of 5 rescue Old English Sheepdogs.. not all at the same time !!!! so I know about grooming. My last dog Boomer was 116lbs, (52.5kg) a big strong boy and the light of our lives. In 2020 we started to foster dogs brought up from Texas from the "high kill" pounds. Copper was our first, A Walker Coon Hound... never heard of them before and what a delight with his howl. I will leave your home as you left it though I do enjoy gardening and cleaning windows... I'm generally adventurous, I grew up as a farmer's daughter, so I appreciate animals and the environment. I have two adult children, one nearby in New Plymouth and the other in Australia. I recently returned from Australia where I had one house-sitting position and three woofing placements. My main past times are gardening, riding my electric bike, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the years I've had numerous significant pets. My first was a calf that I cared for and trained. Because of my fondness for her, my Father kept her until I was seventeen when I went to the Waikato to qualify as a Nurse. Another pet I was particularly fond of was a canary, which sang beautifully and I called him Gusto. Unfortunately, he died during covid. More recently I had a stray cat that determinedly made herself home with me. Pets are great companions and I appreciate them very much. We are both people who take pride and care not only in our home (including the grounds) but any home we visit or stay in. Im a keen and active rugby player in England and I have worked and saved hard to travel to New Zealand for your summer. I work in a dog friendly hotel in many high responsibility roles such as, office work, resident management, general maintenance of rooms and gardening, barman and management of deliveries. A 'jack' of all trades, no pun intended! In these positions, personal hygiene is a must and something i personally take pride in. As we are a dog friendly hotel, even when I am at work I am still providing and caring for dogs. At home I take care of 3 dogs, a young puppy a middle child and a senior dog who requires extra attention. she takes regular medication which I administer and monitor. she recently had a large swelling in her face, a cyst of sorts which meant the use of other specialist antibiotics and ointments had to be used. Growing up I have never been without dogs and have lots of experience taking care of them. I am very active with them with regular walks. I love spending time with dogs and would like to have the opportunity to have this companionship along my travels. I will not be working in the time of house sitting arrangements so I will have plenty of time to spend with your pets should they be used to/need a lot of attention. we have a resident cat at the hotel as well which I am responsible for too. In terms of house care I am used to living on my own, washing, cleaning, bins, Laundry etc, so your house will be in safe hands along with your pets. I’m a retired pet lover but because I often go to Auckland to visit family I can’t have a pet of my own. Because I am often in Auckland I could possibly be available for in person interviews for Auckland sits. I grew up in Auckland but have lived in Opotiki for 18 years and love it here. I don’t live in the township but in the very small beach suburb of Tirohanga, only one house back from the beach. There are 30 houses/baches and about half of them are holiday homes. Of the other half at least 40% are occupied by retired people. Lots of them have pets and I fill my animal craving by frequently visiting them. I’m even lucky enough to have a nearly daily visit from my neighbours cat, “Smoke” I can’t see the beach but at night I can hear the waves crashing. I’m physically fit and as I live near a beautiful beach I walk on the beach or cycle track daily. I do 20 to 40 minutes with the occasional 60 minutes thrown in for good luck. I love to read and play board or card games, especially word games. I’m enjoying my retirement but feel like I need to stretch myself a little and house sitting will do that. I’m a gregarious but also very happy with my own company as long as I have a book to read! I’m definitely conscious and reliable as my references will concur. Cam and I(Meg) are long term renters and through working seasonally we have lived in multiple peoples personal homes (i.e. not strictly rental properties) while they have relocated elsewhere for the respective season. Through these living arrangements we have felt fortunate to have a close relationship with the homeowners, which for us, creates a deeper respect of the property and the things living on it (some previous examples include many plants and a cat). As a house sitter you can expect us to care for your space like it is our own, to the standards you expect. I worked for many years in the Hair and Beauty industry as a Hairdresser and Beauty therapist. I have owned business and employed staff in the past. I am a very fit and active retiree. I left the workforce eight years ago to travel to various parts of the world, including some of NZ which I hadn’t yet been to. I have been involved in sport all my life and interested in organics and sustainabilities for many years, so decided to become a Woofer (Willing Worker On Organic Farms). I have thoroughly enjoyed all my placements in NZ, Australia, USA and Portugal. I have visited places and met people that I would never had the chance as a tourist and learnt about growing fruits, vegetables and raising animals in an totally organic and sustainable manner. I have looked after many animals and learnt how to give back to the land for future harvests. Six years ago in 2018 I bought a lifestyle property in the Far North, so have not been able to travel as much, or house sit as I used to, while working hard on my land. Now however I have more spare time, & look forward to being able to travel in NZ. I currently work on my orchard of 100+ trees of every description imaginable, & 4 large vegetable plots. I farm totally organically, eat in season, & am self sufficient(++) with fruit, vegetables & eggs from my 5 chickens. I am able to swap my excesses for milk, meat, cheese & bread! I feel very fortunate. I also have extra acreage which I use for growing grass, (local farmer makes hay in summer). I have also done two caminos (long walks) in both France, and Portugal into Spain. These were 750 and 700km respectively, in 2014 & 2017. My most recent was from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. I have been a proud homeowner since 1980. As a house sitter, you will have someone with old fashion values of care & respect for your property, a good work ethic, totally reliable & honest. As for pets, when my children were growing up, we had a Staffordshire bull terrier, rabbits, cats, cockatiel and baby goats. Currently I have 5 chickens. While woofing I have looked after lots of dogs, cats, goats (learnt to milk), chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, and loved all those times. My woofing hosts would sometimes leave me to house sit at weekends, or in one case, for 10 days when an unavoidable event happened. On that occasion I looked after a small farmlet of goats, cows chickens, vegetable garden, orchard....the entire property. I loved the challenge and was totally equal to the task of overall management. I love outdoors work. Obviously I enjoy walking, so dogs love me for their twice daily long walks. Both David and I grew up in cities, he in Illinois and me in Massachusetts. We met in the US Navy. David and I retired as Lieutenant Commanders from the United States Navy in 1994. Our duty stations have included Adak, Alaska; Norfolk, Virginia, Pensacola, Florida; and Honolulu, Hawaii. After retiring, I started and taught a Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Class at a Hawaii High School. We then moved to Billings, Montana, where we lived from 1996 to 2001. When our youngest of two children graduated from high school, we moved to rural Montana and built a log home, where we have lived since 2001. We have1 dog (miniature poodle), and numerous outdoor cats. I have also had birds (cockatiel, parakeet, finch & canary), guinea pigs and fish as pets. David also has a knowledge of beef cattle, goats, ducks, and chickens. My hobbies include vegetable gardening, bird watching, and needlework. David's main hobby is wood working. He works part time as a ranch hand and does odd jobs such as carpentry, plumbing and repairs. He has worked at farming for local ranches and has knowledge and can repair most farm machinery. We both spent 12 years as members of the local volunteer fire department, he as chief, and me as secretary treasurer. I also ran the weekly senior meal program in our small community for 17 years. Our son is a resident of New Zealand who met his New Zealand wife in Osan Korea. They live in Dunedin where he works at the University of Otago, and she is a teacher at a local school. This will be our fifth visit to New Zealand, and we have seen a lot of the country in the previous 3 visits. My sons' children are 20, 18, and 16. They live at the University. We would love to take care of your pets and home while you are away and while we are in NZ visiting my son and his family. We arrive the end of January 11, 2025 and will leave March 2, 2025. Currently we are waiting for our new apartment in Northcote (Auckland) to be completed (expected settlement early 2025) and looking after other people’s houses has proven to be a great way to bridge that period and to have a change of scenery after we’ve moved into our new apartment. We have quite a number very successful house sits already and loved the experience. We ran a Homestay/B&B in Wellington for more than 6 years, so we are experienced with looking after accommodation and we know the importance of keeping a house clean, tidy and well presented! We have always taken pride in our house, which was very obvious when the real estate agent who sold our current house remarked that she wished everybody’s house looked like this. Jos is retired, while Lucien still works full-time as a software developer from home, so at least one of us will always be there to keep your dog company. A fast and reliable internet connection is the only ‘must’. We have had dogs and cats ourselves - Golden Retrievers for many years, and a sweet little Cavoodle for the last 12 years (who sadly passed away last year) - and we have been looking after cats, dogs, houses and the occasional chicken for months now, so we know how to care for animals, and are happy to care for yours. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. Allan's parents were dairy farmers, and he loved farm life. He is an enthusiastic golfer and gardener, a Justice of the Peace, and volunteers for the Papamoa Community patrol. Jenny is also a keen gardener, enjoys both an exercise/social group and a craft group, volunteers regularly at Good Neighbour Food Rescue, and loves being involved with a Music and Movement group for preschoolers and their Mums. We both belong to Probus, and are also rostered on for several roles at our church. We have a yacht berthed in Penang, Malaysia, and we are there during New Zealand's winter months. Geoff has spent nearly 13 years cruising in South East Asia, and I joined him in 2012. Geoff is a shipwright and is capable of servicing a wide range of appliances, machinery etc.He served in the New Zealand navy for 8 years and after leaving he worked as a commercial diver whilst building his first yacht. After sailing for many years in the Pacific, Australia, Africa and Europe, he settled in Brisbane, where he set up his shipwright business. He then built his second yacht and set sail for South East Asia. My previous working life involved a variety of positions, including working as a supervisor in a childcare centre in Waimauku, Auckland, and then as a sterile services technician at North Shore hospital in Auckland. I have two sons who live in the Netherlands and Belgium, and 1 grandson. Because of our lifestyle on the yacht we are organised and tidy in our habits. We enjoy exploring new environments, so house sitting promises to be a great way to meet new people, have some much-needed interaction with animals again, and reunite us with different parts of our country after being away for so many years. When I was married and we bought our first house, having pets was a top priority. After 3 years we had 3 cats (Tabby, Tina and Kate) and 2 Beagles (Tony and Lucy). I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. Kia ora, we are Rosie and Taz. We have lived in New Zealand since winter of 2022 and have been professionally housesitting for the last 18 months. Rosie's father is from NZ and Taz has extended family who emigrated here many years ago. We plan to make our long term home in New Zealand. We also have lots of experience housesitting for friends and family be it an overnight stay or multiple weeks of sitting. We started housesitting as an option from living and travelling in our van around NZ but now have our own home in rural Kerikeri. We see housesitting as a great opportunity to explore NZ further and make some lovely furry friends along the way! We both work within landscaping and gardening. Taz has also worked as a builder and enjoys working on small building projects. Rosie has a Fine Art degree which she now uses to help inform her practice which is based mostly in upcycling textile waste and other materials. Between us we have a combined 14 years of experience within Festivals and Events which we have started to transition out of now we have our own home. Needless to say it made us both adaptable and resilient! A calm and collected approach to all challenges was needed - we carry that energy with us in all that we do. We find bonding with animals is often very easy and natural. In our personal lives we have cared for many dogs and cats in houseshares in the UK (where we lived previously) including rescuing and raising a GSD mix at 9 months old (Hank) between 4 friends. Hank is now 10 and thriving! We understand housesit-ees with rescue pets may have more concerns due to their pets rescue 'quirks' but want them to know we are very familiar with this territory. Patience and consistency are so important and we are happy to take on the routines needed so your pet is at their best while you are gone. We are a couple in our late 20s and early 30s living in Wellington. We love housesitting because it combines two of the things we both really love; travelling and pets. Due to our current migratory situation we do not have pets and house sitting is a way we can enjoy the company of animals and explore new suburbs. We have both had dogs and cats in the past. Nachi has also volunteered with the SPCA where she looked after chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs amongst others. She also attended a farm school and has experience caring for farm animals. We believe that animals are part of the family and will go above and beyond to ensure they are well looked after and don't miss their human family too much while you are away. We are the lucky ones. We get to travel, explore new places, meet new people and look after your pets. My husband Steve and I have 4 grown up daughters, and 3 delightful grandchildren. We have worked hard in our lives, and our time to explore, travel and see our beautiful country is now. We have both been brought up on Dairy and Sheep/Beef farms. We have a small lifestyle block (12 acres) near Taupo where one of our adult children lives. We are very experienced with animals and currently have on our farm, horses, cows, a dog, chickens and a couple of cats. We have previously had beef steers and sheep, including lambing. We have a deep love of animals and both Steve and I are active relaxers, which means your dogs will get loads of walking, activities and cuddles while you are away. We are confident with large animals and will not hesitate to phone a vet in any circumstance. We will love and care for your animals (slightly obsessed with them), so you can go and enjoy travelling of your own. We are very tidy and will take great care of your home. A beautiful house I sat in last year was a riverside property, with lovely views of water and trees. The two dogs Jasper & Toto, would join me on my morning walk up the quiet road, and be my companions in the evening by the fire. My recent sit, in Turiko, required care of chickens and lawns, both of which I tended with care. The chooks made interesting subjects to draw. As a sitter I live quietly. Because I love home Ill be at yours most of the time, popping out for the odd 4 hour work shift, shopping, walking, and meeting friends. If you have gardens Ill do a spot of weeding, am happy to mow lawns, and generally keep indoors and out neat and tidy. I walk most days and enjoy walking dogs, perferring smaller breds. The gorgeous pets I have cared for include cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, sheep, chickens, cows, and guinea pigs. I do prefer to look after cats as I work during the day (Please note: I do not work from home, I work as a temp) if you have a dog that can be left for the day that may work to. I love meeting new pets and especially love to catch up with wee friends I have cared for in the past. I absolutely adore cats and dogs, and have met some very interesting characters along the way! and I look forward to meeting many more. I grew up with a Cat and dog, and just love their company and playing with them, and don't mind at all if they snuggle up in bed. I'm also happy to administer medication and flea treatments etc. and take your wee friend to the vet if required. I lived in Wellington for three years where I studied my 1st degree, a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Cultural Anthropology and Development Studies. I am currently a full-time student in Occupational Therapy. I have an innate love of helping people combined with a huge passion for health and well-being which is why I have decided go back and retrain as an Occupational Therapist. Greetings and kia ora. My name is Tootje, and my husband, Kazen and I immigrated to beautiful New Zealand nine years ago. Because we pretty much had to start our lives from scratch (financially speaking), we haven't had much opportunity to travel this picturesque country we now reside in. So I guess you could say, one of the reasons we'd love to do more house-sitting is to have a change of scenery, see a little more of New Zealand and spend our free time enjoying a different perspective of its beautiful cities and towns. We're currently unable to care for pets of our own, and being animal lovers, we miss that interaction with furry friends. In the past (in South Africa) we've house-sat relatively frequently for friends and family, all of which had fur children. Because we come from a country that teaches one (quite quickly in life) to be aware of one's surroundings, we're very security conscious. So looking after your home, would be like looking after our own. In fact I'd say, that's the attitude we have in general - treat other's possessions as though they are your own. And that naturally, includes your pets. I've cared for a terminally ill pet for a month, and we've consoled and reassured pets that generally don't eat when their owners are absent for a while, to do so. We've snuggled and loved pets that just needed to feel at home and comfortable in their surroundings when mum, dad and kids stepped away for a few days, and generally just needed people to meet their basic, and not so basic needs. If you were to ask our friends and family what we were like as house-sitters, they'd say things like, "they always left the house cleaner than they found it". They were reliable, trustworthy, dependable, honest, respectful and never left the house during the duration of their stay, barring having to pop down to the shops for groceries. If you feel like we'd be a suitable fit, in terms of what you require as home and pet owners, we'd love to care for and secure your abode and cherished pets, whilst you're away from them. Reasons for house sitting: - Currently residing with my parents to save for my first home. - I am quite sensitive to my environments - this means I need a tidy, clean, quiet space to meditate or practice yoga. - Travel is important to me, I like to explore new areas and communities even if it is just around the corner! This time last year I spent three months in a home with two goats, two horses, five chickens and a beautiful veggie patch. I have grown up with cats and chickens my whole life and lived on a farm the last 1.5yrs with five working dogs, cattle, at least twenty horses and of course ducks and chickens. I understand the responsibility it takes to look after animals and as much as I am there to feed and look after them, I love to be around them. I am a morning person and need to spend an hour at least outside before starting my day - yes especially in winter! In every home, I always enter with the care that it is my own. I had the opportunity over seas cleaning luxury homes and still have the pleasure of cleaning to this standard. How I take care of my home space is a reflection of how I take care of myself, as a house sitter I plan to look after the space as If I was never there and I am also a bit of an introvert, so the home is a space I can be on my own - of course, hopefully in the company of a pet. Over the last five or so years I also worked as a freelance decorator so I am handy around the house if needed. Kia Ora! We’re Emma and Elias, twins on tour through New Zealand with a working holiday visa, eager to explore the country and its people. Whilst looking for an accommodation we’ve stumbled upon house/pet sitting, which seemed perfect to us both. Both of us adore pets and animals in general and even though we only have fish at home;), both of us have plenty of experience, especially with dogs. I, Emma, did a school exchange in 2020 and lived in a family with 3 dogs (a husky and 2 adopted strays). I took care of them every day of the year, taking all three of them on long walks through the beautiful nature of Andalusia and still, almost three years later, I miss them dearly. I also made a habit out of going to the local Dog-Rescue-Center, taking little pups without a home on walks along the beach. I, Elias, have a close friend with 3 young australian shepherds. Back in Germany I joined them for a walk every day over the last year and cared for them whenever the family was away. I’ve helped educating them since the age of 12 weeks and went through all stages of adolescence with the little rascals. All three of them have a special place in my heart and they will be my first stop when this travel experience comes to an end. Even though both of us have more experience taking care of dogs, we have helped friends and family with cats whenever we had the chance to. If you choose us as sitters you can expect two young, responsible adults to take care of both your home and your animal/s with lots of love and passion. Also, we bring plenty of time with us due to us not working at all or only working part time! That means we are very flexible and can always prioritize your pet/s. Since marriage we have always owned cats and dogs, firstly Asti and Loti, two Burmese cats, then a tabby rescue cat who was very shy but she loved our Black Lab Joey, they were great mates. We tried to socialise her with other dogs without success but Lucy was a faithful companion who we walked at night to give her the space she needed to not become stressed around other dogs. Our children have their own families and our sons both have dogs, Ash, a Staffy and Poppy, a Labradoodle, totally different dogs. Ash is always so excited to see us and has to receive a cuddly and then settles down whereas Poppy is more laid back, come to see us but not as excited. We are living with Poppy at the moment and walk her most days. Our daughter has a Burmese cat who always sits on Janice knee at night, but she does the sitting, if you pick her up she takes a while to settle. I have two friends one with an old LabX Sammie and the other a Border Collie, Lockie who we both have a lot of contact with. Sammie, we have looked after at both his home and ours many times. In our professional life, Brian was an ideals person designing many electronics products, and I was the administration and finance person for companies we owned over our working life. We raised three children and have 5 grandchildren living in Auckland and Wellington. Our home is in Auckland but we spend a lot of time between both cities. We are always on the go, helping in the community, renovating family homes, out tramping, yachting, cycling, skiing, travelling and spending time with our grandchildren. Brian can turn his hand to most things in the home and garden but does know his limits and will call in professionals if need be. I am a cook, cleaner and gardener who loves to talk to humans and animals. We are both members of Rotary and like contributing to our community and Janice is a volunteer at the Community Op Shop and SPACE (a program for first time parents) and both Brian and Janice volunteer at Kai Tahi (eat together) community meals, and an twice yearly e-waste collection. We are doers, both physically fit, non-smokers and enjoy life. Both non smokers, enjoy clean living with clean criminal international and local records. We met in Malaysia while working as volunteers with cats and dogs for SPCA in early 2015. After that we did a period of volunteers with tigers in Thailand. Highlight of our lives. Great experience to be so close and intimate with a wild animals. Few scars but lived to tell all the tales. After we worked with them, cats and dogs are so easy. Next, hoping to spend some time with elephants. We have done home sitting in NZ as well as offshore in Europe and China as well as a 4 week stay in Malaysia. Although we like to travel, live clean and appreciate clean houses so your home will be looked after. Although not fantastic green fingers, we will happily mow your grass and pull a few weeds as required. As we both still work part time, appreciate wi-fi so we can still receive emails etc. Sky is not important cause we rather be outside enjoying open air as against watching TV. Also since 2017, a volunteer firefighter originally with Otorohanga but would consider helping any local volunteer brigade. Rem has in the past also looked after NZ Police dogs while their handler has gone on holiday so the average dog should be relatively easy. Happy to walk the dogs and where possible, take them to the beach if possible. Hopefully have secure parking for the BMW as well? Since Feb 2017 we have lived in Otorohanga and have looked after various local and surrounding properties. A 550 acre grazing farm and a very upmarket lifestyle house. Although it’s been fun here, we are ready for another area from now on. Long term housesits preferred but will consider short options as well. Yuling now lives in Wellington full time while Rem commutes.

Our home base is on a small island in western Canada. We are homeowners and fully understand the housesitting social contract and responsibilities. We currently have trustworthy housesitters in our home while we are away. Peter and I, make a great housesitting team. I take the lead with the animal and home care, Peter supports me by playing with the pets and cuddle time. He also leads our dog walking explorations into nature. As our three children grew, our home was full of much loved animals. We had two family cats and two family dogs. Oliver, the cat was much loved in the neighbourhood. During the day he would sit by the gate, greet people, and beg for a pat. During the evening, when he was not snuggled up next to the dog, or swatting her tail, he would find a lap and stay there purring. He stayed in our family for 20 years. Lassie, a border collie/lab/husky cross is perhaps the most acclaimed of all our family pets. Our children still talk of her with great love. We adopted her when she was two years old. She 'heeled' with the click of a finger and kept guard over our children when they were young. She was the most amazing and lovable dog - her photo has an honoured place in our home. In the past, we have cared for cats, dogs, sheep, pigs, bees, chickens, ducks, fischers parrot, rabbits, and hamsters. The key in caring for pets is to have established expectations: food and exercise routines/cuddle times and ensure that animals have ample fresh water everyday. We love all animals and plants and can turn my hand to most tasks involved in caring for them. Also, I might add that I enjoy exploring regenerative agriculture concepts. I am a founding director of School Orchards Africa Society, in Tanzania. Having built our home and hobby farm, Peter is familiar with most house systems, on and off grid. He is a good guitar player. We're also happy to do turnover service if you operate an active Air BnB on your property. Hi! Great to meet you! Our names are Erroll and Roman. In the photos, Erroll has dark brown hair, and Roman has blonde hair. A bit about us both... Roman grew up on a farm in Czech Republic, and so has experience in caring for animals, including: cats, dogs, sheep, cows, pigs, horses and pigeons. Yes, Roman has trained pigeons! :) Erroll grew up in a big family (14 Aunties!) in Wellington (NZ) and often babysat his younger cousins. His family had two dogs and two cats, while he had his own pet turtle! These days he looks after his family's homes and pets while they are away, as well as babysitting for his four nephews. We love to travel - see photos for some of our adventures around New Zealand. We take pride in being clean and tidy! We enjoy cooking meals. But we are also active people, love to hike and swim. Hi my name is Sebastian. I am 33 years old, I am Argentine. I am a landscape gardener. I am in Auckland City working for Landscaping company. I love animals. I have lived with dogs and cats throughout my life. I came to New Zealand with my partner Josela. She is a singer and sociologist. Our routine allows someone to always be home We have a work visa for three years in New Zealand. We are a very calm couple, we love to live in a clean and tidy space. She also loves animals. We really have a very special connection with dogs and cats. While we are traveling and living away from home, we miss being in touch with these friends very much. You can be sure that the house will look wonderful while you are gone. As a gardener, I love to help make the Garden look nice if you need it and I have all the necessary tools to do it. And Josela is a lover of order at home. Together we make a very good team for the care of your animals and home. Your pets will be super well cared for, we love to go for a walk and we will be happy to take them with us if necessary.

Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to read our profile. Our names are Charlotte (Lottie) Jepson and James O'Hern, we're both 30 years old and originally from the UK. We've been in New Zealand for over 3 years and we're looking to make this wonderful country our home. We've fallen in love with the place and see ourselves living here long term. The reason for house sitting at the moment is because we've been travelling regularly between the UK and NZ in the last 12 months. Due to the shorter stints in NZ, usually 8-12 weeks at a time, getting a lease on a house for short periods is challenging and we'd prefer to spend time with friends, camping or housesitting which offers more variety and flexibility for us. Our interests are hiking, camping, cycling, surfing, reading, cooking and travelling overseas - almost anything outdoorsy. Between us we've had a several pets of our own, completed a number of housesits, and regularly look after relatives pets, so we have a lot of experience looking after animals and making sure they're well fed, cleaned, walked, loved and rested - plus we all keep each other company which is just as important. We're both able to work remotely, so we're always able to stay at home for long periods of the day to look after pets. If you choose us to look after your pet(s) and home, they will be in safe hands. We're a clean and organised so we can stay on top of managing the house will make sure things get done on time. We're also aware that regular updates and good communication will help you enjoy your time away. We're respectful and mindful of the space we're using so you'll find the house in the same condition when you return home. We're happy to share any further information or chat things through on the phone or via video call to get to know each other before making a decision.
