We are a early age retired couple who now travel New Zealand in our small bus. We would like to spend the cooler months house sitting to give us a break from the bus and stay a bit warmer. Before owning the bus we stayed at a lot of Airbnb places and always got a glowing review. We are animal lovers. We have always had a dog but since the passing of the last one we haven't got a new one as we often stay at campsites where dogs aren't allowed. We do miss not having a dog. Toni has done dog agility and training for many years and has a love of horses with a small amount of experience with them so is very capable of caring for one for a short time. I also have experience caring for reptiles and I used to have pet reptiles in Australia. We are a mature aged couple who have both owned our own homes as well as renting. We feel we have respect for others people's belongings and can assure any home owner that we will do our best to ensure no harm comes to either their pets or their house or belongings. We both enjoy outdoor activities as well as just chilling out at home. Due to our nomadic lifestyle there is a high possibility we may not be able to have a face to face meeting before either you or we decide to accept a housesit, but we would always be available for either a phone or video call. If you cannot accept us for a housesit without a face to face meeting please do not consider us.

Although I live with my daughter & her fiance I need my own space at times and find house sitting almost like a retreat, where I can enjoy solitude, and my art & yoga practice. A beautiful house I sat in last year was a riverside property, with lovely views of water and trees. The two dogs Jasper and Toto were alot of fun.. My recent sit, in Turiko, required care of chickens and lawns, both of which I tended with care. As a sitter I live quietly. Because I love home Ill be at yours most of the time. If you have gardens Ill do a spot of weeding, am happy to mow lawns, and generally keep indoors and out neat and tidy. I walk most days and enjoy walking dogs, perferring smaller breds. Youll return home to find your house exactly as you left it, and if time permits, a casserole in the fridge and fruit bowl on the bench. Your home will welcome you back.

Hi there my name is Hollie, I’m 38 years of age. I have been working abroad for 10 years, living in America, London and Australia. Moving back home in 2020 due to the borders closing. I work as a consultant in FMCG where I work a combination of wfh and being out on the road. I have however been in the cosmetic industry as a Business Development manager for 15 years. I’m a retired pet lover but because I often go to Auckland to visit family I can’t have a pet of my own. Because I am often in Auckland I could possibly be available for in person interviews for Auckland sits. I grew up in Auckland but have lived in Opotiki for 18 years and love it here. I don’t live in the township but in the very small beach suburb of Tirohanga, only one house back from the beach. There are 30 houses/baches and about half of them are holiday homes. Of the other half at least 40% are occupied by retired people. Lots of them have pets and I fill my animal craving by frequently visiting them. I’m even lucky enough to have a nearly daily visit from my neighbours cat, “Smoke” I can’t see the beach but at night I can hear the waves crashing. I’m physically fit and as I live near a beautiful beach I walk on the beach or cycle track daily. I do 20 to 40 minutes with the occasional 60 minutes thrown in for good luck. I love to read and play board or card games, especially word games. I’m enjoying my retirement but feel like I need to stretch myself a little and house sitting will do that. I’m a gregarious but also very happy with my own company as long as I have a book to read! I’m definitely conscious and reliable as my references will concur. Hello there, My name is Donna and I'm a 60 year old mother of three children. I grew up in the Hutt Valley and have spent most of my life in the Wellington/Wairarapa area. For the past 10 years, I've been a healthcare assistance at a number of retirement villages in the Wellington region. While not working, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, going for bush walks and reading a good novel. I'm generally adventurous, I grew up as a farmer's daughter, so I appreciate animals and the environment. I have two adult children, one nearby in New Plymouth and the other in Australia. I recently returned from Australia where I had one house-sitting position and three woofing placements. My main past times are gardening, riding my electric bike, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the years I've had numerous significant pets. My first was a calf that I cared for and trained. Because of my fondness for her, my Father kept her until I was seventeen when I went to the Waikato to qualify as a Nurse. Another pet I was particularly fond of was a canary, which sang beautifully and I called him Gusto. Unfortunately, he died during covid. More recently I had a stray cat that determinedly made herself home with me. Pets are great companions and I appreciate them very much. I began house-sitting before retirement, and have cared for cats and dogs, plus a few sheep and a donkey. These situations have been for family, friends, and acquaintances for periods of almost a week to a month.

I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. Steve and I have been married for almost 42 years and are semi-retired parents and grandparents. We are young at heart and enjoy spending time with our family, grandchildren, and friends. Steve is a part time IT contractor and often works from home. I also work part time, as a self employed private house cleaner. Working part time gives us both the freedom to enjoy not only our hobbies and interests but the grandchildren as well - we often pick them up from school and spend time together. Steve & I both have several different hobbies and interests that we enjoy when we have the chance. I enjoy reading, listening to music, knitting, English paper piecing, hand quilting, and cardmaking. Steve has a great interest in NZ Railway History, railway modelling, listening to music, and gardening. We have had a cat or cats in our lives for the last 30 plus years and recently had to have our 19 year old cat put to sleep which saddened us greatly. We had a dog many years ago and Colin had dogs prior to our relationship. We are kind and know how much animals/pets are a huge part of the family and are much loved. We know we always worried about our animals when away and how important it was to us to know they were well cared for. We are both employed on a casual, part time basis, Colin as Bar Manager at the Waipa Workingmen's Club and as a school bus driver. Chrissy has a contract with the Hamilton City Council serving on their District Licensing Committee. We have undertaken a number of private housesits for friends and have looked after cats, dogs and chickens. Colin is a very competent home handyman and gardener with a broad knowledge of property management. We are practical people with life experience and a common-sense approach.

We are a semi-retired couple who like to take breaks away from our busy life in Raglan. I have various volunteer roles here, plus grandchildren, and Robin is a trauma therapist working from home - he retired from a medical career in 2020. We have used house sitters for our own home when we used to travel overseas for work and appreciated the security it gave us while we were away, knowing that our home and pets would be lovingly cared for. We would be very happy to provide this for other people. We are both very clean and tidy - we take pride in having a lovely comfortable home. My husband is also very handy (he also has an engineering background which helps here) and can usually fix almost anything! I love to cook, and enjoy gardening, walking and exploring new places. We also enjoy reading and various crafts. We have a cat, and three chickens at the moment. We have had a dog in the past (a beautiful border collie) but he passed away some time ago and because we were travelling a fair bit at that time we haven't got another dog.

He was very active and we walked twice a day. I volunteered for the Golden Retriever rescue for 6 years interviewing adopters, walking the goldens, and picking up very frightened golden's from shelters to bring into our rescue. I have always had a cat, the biggest love of them was 19 when he passed on. I have a 5 yr old rescue black cat. I also grew up with chooks. I am a competent horse rider and will consider looking after most animals. Would love to throw on my gum boots and head out to the paddock to cover a horse or move an animal to another paddock. I am a Scottish country dancer and like to walk, garden, read and knit. I am willing to go anywhere in NZ and would prefer a rural setting. In July we are returning after 5 years working in Bangkok at an international school. Before we left NZ we sold our home and did 3 house sits before leaving the country. They all went very well. Upon arriving back we will be house sitting, with current bookings, from mid-July until early January. From that point on we are looking to add future house sits. We have lived in and cared for our own home, property and pets for many, many years and as such believe we would be ideal candidates to look after someone else's home. We have travelled internationally for both business and family overseas, as well as extensively throughout New Zealand, and having lived long spells in Wellington, Auckland and now retired to Bay of Plenty. With the family overseas, often our time away has been for up to 3 months, and on those occasions we have had friends and others staying at our home. We know how you are feeling making this commitment. We have been long term dog and cat owners, and currently regularly play house parents to a friend's dog. After traveling through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and New Caledonia, we will arrive in New Zealand at the beginning of March! We want to be itinerant until the beginning of May, about 2 months in a van. We are therefore looking for pet sitting/house sitting missions for about 3 weeks from the beginning of May to the end of May, we are flexible for the dates end of April-mid May :) We see this experience as a global immersion in a local life with the little extra thing of being able to take care of animals. We have always had in our lives the presence of animals (cat, dog, rabbit, chicken, tortoise) we also have experience for animals with particularities (deafness from birth for our dog for example adapted with sign language) or if there is care to be done or treatment to be given with chronic diseases. Walks, games and cuddle sessions will be the daily life of your animals by our side We have owned our house with garden for many years, we have also been Airbnb hosts, carrying out interior/exterior maintenance is therefore not a problem. Not only that, but I get a lot of satisfaction in knowing that I’m providing a valuable community service, because the homeowners get to go away reassured that their pets are living relaxed and safe in their own homes instead of dodgy kennels and catteries, and also that their houses are being watched over and safeguarded from the crims. I have over 20 years of full-time dairy farming behind me, 14 of those years in sole charge management of dairy farms, so I’m the ideal minder for house sitting/farm sitting/relief milking combos. I have also worked with sheep, goats, and drystock cattle. On past house-sits and farm-sits I have looked after a wide variety of animal and bird life including cats, dogs, deer, cattle, sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, alpacas, rabbits, chooks, ducks, turkeys, doves, and frogs. I’m particularly fond of cats – you won’t find a better cat sitter. I’m a non-smoker and a quiet individual who is not into boozing, parties, and noise. I’m also a confessed homebody who prefers pottering around the property as opposed to galavanting about the countryside, so the homes and animals in my care are under constant watch. Clean, trustworthy, tidy, practical, adaptable, and with a good ounce of common sense, initiative and No.8 wire mindset. No task is too big or small. I bring to every house sit a professional attitude and a quiet and calming disposition that soon wins over the most timid of pets. I enjoy what I do and I take a lot of pride in my work. During my stay at your place, I will be in regular contact with updates along with photos and video clips of your pets so you can be assured they’re getting well looked after, if not a little spoiled. I cover all my own groceries, gas, and I have my own transport, complimented with a clean driver licence. Under my contents insurance I’m covered for legal liability in case of any accidental damage. In all my years of house sitting, I have never had to use that insurance. Nevertheless it’s there – for peace of mind for both parties. I also have two rental houses of my own. I thus know what it’s like to hand the keys over to other people, and trusting them to look after your property while they’re living there. My preferred locations are rural and coastal properties, though I do enjoy the occasional suburban assignment for a change. I don’t charge a cent to look after houses, pets, or lifestyle blocks. I never have and I never will. For me, house sitting is all about the lifestyle. My ‘payment’ comes in the form of free accommodation, free use of the utilities, and free access to the vegetable garden and orchard. I can’t justify charging fees on top of all that. The only times I would invoice the home owners is if I’m looking after a commercial business of theirs, such as a Bed & Breakfast, orchard, or working farm, or if I’m undertaking some ‘improvement’ projects for them, such as painting the wooden deck or planting new trees – things like that. With over 19 years experience under my belt, there’s very little about house sitting I don’t know. It's only relatively recently that I joined the House Sitting Company, but I have loads of verifiable references, with nearly 60 reviews on another house sitting website. So I know how important it is for house and pet owners to know that their beloved ones and their home is safe while being away! No one wants to worry about what happens at home while they are gone. Taking your pets to a cattery on kennels is way too stressful for them and not really an option. I am a full time Mum (with a background in Event Management), my husband owns his own building company. Our reasons for wanting to house sit are two fold. 1) For opportunities to stay in Auckland for longer term visits to see our family who we really miss and 2) We absolutely love exploring our beautiful country, but as living costs increase it's becoming harder and harder to have holidays away. We usually stay in air bnbs, but house sitting would help us out immensely. We are home owners in Wanganui and we have also extensively used air bnbs to take our girls on mini breaks away. All our reviews from staying in different homes have been A+. We also personally keep a very tidy, organised, clean home in Wanganui. Although we don't own a lot of pets (currently two cats), we love animals! We are very caring by nature and very frequently visit friends farms in Wanganui who have a wide range of pets/farm animals which our girls love to experience. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. Our girls are also very respectful and tidy and absolutely love nothing more than 'playing house' when we go on holiday. I believe this would be replicated if we were to house sit. We immigrated here 18 years ago and have been living in the Catlins ever since so love to explore . As we do not have animals of our own (not by choice) this will also give us a great opportunity to enjoy other people's pets while we are on breaks. We are reliable and trustworthy and are managing a holiday park in the Catlins. This is a 24/7 entity and being in hospitality means we know what is expected from cleanliness and client communication. Neil is a handyman and extremely keen garderner so finds himself very busy most of the time. We both are pet lovers and with previous housesitting experience in London, South Africa and in the Catlins, we have done a lot of dog walking, cuddling cats and even looked after pigs, horses and chickens. We both love fishing and used to take our doggies with us (back in South Africa) so they could have a good run around, and when given the chance they would steal some of our catch! My children and I lived on a 10 acre block in Waimauku for several years and cared for a variety of animals including cats, dogs, hens, sheep, cows, and the occasional rabbit and duck! Because of Geoff's years spent at sea his opportunities to care for pets have been limited, but in his younger years his family owned cats, dogs and budgies. Geoff and I spend the summer months,October through to April, in New Zealand, which is when we are available for house sitting. We have a yacht berthed in Penang, Malaysia, and we are there during New Zealand's winter months. Geoff has spent nearly 13 years cruising in South East Asia, and I joined him in 2012. Geoff is a shipwright and is capable of servicing a wide range of appliances, machinery etc.He served in the New Zealand navy for 8 years and after leaving he worked as a commercial diver whilst building his first yacht. After sailing for many years in the Pacific, Australia, Africa and Europe, he settled in Brisbane, where he set up his shipwright business. He then built his second yacht and set sail for South East Asia. My previous working life involved a variety of positions, including working as a supervisor in a childcare centre in Waimauku, Auckland, and then as a sterile services technician at North Shore hospital in Auckland. I have two sons who live in the Netherlands and Belgium, and 1 grandson. Because of our lifestyle on the yacht we are organised and tidy in our habits. We enjoy exploring new environments, so house sitting promises to be a great way to meet new people, have some much-needed interaction with animals again, and reunite us with different parts of our country after being away for so many years. Recently my 15 coloured sheep and their new lambs have been sold. Caring for others (humans and animals) is what I do best.. Until his recent death I cared for my 86 yr old family friend who had health problems. This enabled him to remain living in his own home. We are a professional couple taking time out from work to travel and spend time with family. We are 58 and 59-years-old, have been married for 39 years and have three grown up children. We have over 15 years experience caring for and loving pets whilst their Mum and Dad are away. Over these years we have been in lots of different house/pet-sitting situations. One of our first pet sits was for a gorgeous old Collie dog who had diabetes and needed daily injections. He also had two sisters who were cats and we looked after them all for many years. We started house sitting over ten years ago as a friend had 7 cats and was travelling for five months. We have cared for these cats over many years since. During this time, we have had to give medication, visit the vet and as the years progressed look after their personal care needs much more. We have also sat for three dogs for many years; a black Labrador, Chihuahua and a Border Terrier. We are both extremely, kind, loving and practical and have ensured that pets are cared for in the same way we care for our own pets. We treat your babies the same way as we treat our own, giving them our time and immense affection and kindness. We are both at home all day so can give your pets all the attention they need. We love animals and have also spent some time helping look after pigs, hens and horses. I was a Trustee for a small city farm and my husband managed areas of the same farm. We are asked again and again to house sit because we are careful to keep your house beautiful and send regular pictures and updates of how happy your pets are. I always cook a meal for the returning home owner and replenish their fridge. My husband is extremely able around the house and land and people are happy to see their grounds kept well. I am a very fit and active retiree. I left the workforce eight years ago to travel to various parts of the world, including some of NZ which I hadn’t yet been to. I have been involved in sport all my life and interested in organics and sustainabilities for many years, so decided to become a Woofer (Willing Worker On Organic Farms). I have thoroughly enjoyed all my placements in NZ, Australia, USA and Portugal. I have visited places and met people that I would never had the chance as a tourist and learnt about growing fruits, vegetables and raising animals in an totally organic and sustainable manner. I have looked after many animals and learnt how to give back to the land for future harvests. Six years ago in 2018 I bought a lifestyle property in the Far North, so have not been able to travel as much, or house sit as I used to, while working hard on my land. Now however I have more spare time, & look forward to being able to travel in NZ. I currently work on my orchard of 100+ trees of every description imaginable, & 4 large vegetable plots. I farm totally organically, eat in season, & am self sufficient(++) with fruit, vegetables & eggs from my 5 chickens. I am able to swap my excesses for milk, meat, cheese & bread! I feel very fortunate. I also have extra acreage which I use for growing grass, (local farmer makes hay in summer). I have also done two caminos (long walks) in both France, and Portugal into Spain. These were 750 and 700km respectively, in 2014 & 2017. My most recent was from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. I have been a proud homeowner since 1980. As a house sitter, you will have someone with old fashion values of care & respect for your property, a good work ethic, totally reliable & honest. As for pets, when my children were growing up, we had a Staffordshire bull terrier, rabbits, cats, cockatiel and baby goats. Currently I have 5 chickens. While woofing I have looked after lots of dogs, cats, goats (learnt to milk), chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, and loved all those times. My woofing hosts would sometimes leave me to house sit at weekends, or in one case, for 10 days when an unavoidable event happened. On that occasion I looked after a small farmlet of goats, cows chickens, vegetable garden, orchard....the entire property. I loved the challenge and was totally equal to the task of overall management. I love outdoors work. Obviously I enjoy walking, so dogs love me for their twice daily long walks. Maewyn I’m a retired Primary School teacher and currently a part time ESOL teacher. Ken and I love visiting different parts of NZ, particularly the warm sunny Bay of Plenty and Auckland. Sadly, our beloved cat Rosie passed away and we decided not to get another pet. Now we enjoy other peoples pets as often as we can. That's our goal, to treat your pets like our special grandchildren, ensuring you will be worry free as we care for them and your home. We are happy to water plants and do light weeding. Ken I grew up in rural Otago, Southland and Mid-Canterbury. I started my 'hands on' with animals at primary school with a pet lamb I called Topsy. However I did a lambing beat while at high school, and later mustered cattle on horseback in Southland's Hokonui Hills. Over the years I've helped out on farms vaccinating, crutching and drenching sheep and running farming camps for high schoolers. We've even farm sat, a sheep and beef property while the owners went yachting. After graduating from Lincoln University I spent time working overseas in agricultural education (Australia and Tanzania). On returning to New Zealand I was employed by Christchurch Polytech (now ARA) to teach Trade Certificate Farming, and run animal husbandry courses for lifestyle block holders. For 30 years I sold and supported farm computer software and worked with sheep and deer breeders to improve the performance of their stud stock. I’m almost fully retired now with just a bit of computer support to keep my hand in. .

In the past I have bred Boxers. We are both experienced sitters and have been looking after the pets of others for several years. We have spent a month in UK doing two successful 10-day dog sits for both of which we received 5-star reviews. We have also done several pet sits in Australia and New Zealand. Hi there, Thanks for your time. My name is Stephen and I'm a mature, quiet, well adjusted person in his 60's whom loves cats, dogs and most other animals. My sister and I sold our family home in Auckland and decided to 'take a break' from it all and she suggested we try house-sitting. I see this as a win-win for all parties involved, especially the pets as they get to be looked after and cared for in their own home. I love helping owners relax when they go away, providing them with peace of mind knowing that all is well with their loved ones and home. Massimo, my Staffordshire Bull Terrier of 13 years past away in November 2015 (see photo in my profile) and I miss him dearly. This is also a great way of getting my regular 'pet fix' and enjoying a variety of new canine/ feline friends. As a keen photographer, I am also looking forward to exploring and taking some great shots of the local areas. I also love photographing pets whilst they're relaxed at home, so leave me a USB drive and there should be some nice portraits waiting on your return! For the last 20 years I've been working in the support side of Information Technology and will be using this time to research a new career in Organisational Development. This means I will be there for pets that are used to constant companionship as I have my own PC and will spend a fair amount of time on the internet doing this and other leisure activities. Having also owned my own home, I've had cats and/ or dogs for most of my life and will care and cherish yours as if they were my own and I know what it means to take care of and run a household. My sister Sarah is also a sitter with The Housesitting Company and is also doing some sitting through this organisation and we plan to over-lap our schedules so it is highly likely that she will be staying with me at times. Glenn and I have been house sitting for friends and friends of friends since October last year and have just loved the experience. Both Glenn and I are animal lovers. We have owned dogs, cats and chickens over the years. We own two properties of our own in the Tauranga area. These properties are both tenanted out. The reason for us leaving our main home of residence is so we can put a little money behind us and travel overseas to visit our daughter in Wales, UK. I’m a bit of a tidy freak so have always ensured the houses we have looked after are left clean and spotless. We believe it is a privilege to look after a home and of course take care of their animals if any. I house sat for 2 years 2000-2002 minding cats and dogs and keeping the owners house up to scratch. I was often recalled when the home owners were away. I'm honest, trustworthy and reliable. I held a responsible position for 21 years as PA to a high profile NZ'er until retiring in 2021. I've travelled extensively over the years - lived in the UK for the usual two year OE in my twenties, then was seconded to Singapore for a further two years in 1998. During Covid we were limited to local travel which ticked a lot of boxes and have some very happy memories of travels round NZ, particularly the South Island. We both love to walk and do lengthier hikes & can be found in the mornings trying to beat each other at Wordle & Quordle. We are both people who take pride and care not only in our home (including the grounds) but any home we visit or stay in. Both David and I grew up in cities, he in Illinois and me in Massachusetts. We met in the US Navy. David and I retired as Lieutenant Commanders from the United States Navy in 1994. Our duty stations have included Adak, Alaska; Norfolk, Virginia, Pensacola, Florida; and Honolulu, Hawaii. After retiring, I started and taught a Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Class at a Hawaii High School. We then moved to Billings, Montana, where we lived from 1996 to 2001. When our youngest of two children graduated from high school, we moved to rural Montana and built a log home, where we have lived since 2001. We have1 dog (miniature poodle), and numerous outdoor cats. I have also had birds (cockatiel, parakeet, finch & canary), guinea pigs and fish as pets. David also has a knowledge of beef cattle, goats, ducks, and chickens. My hobbies include vegetable gardening, bird watching, and needlework. David's main hobby is wood working. He works part time as a ranch hand and does odd jobs such as carpentry, plumbing and repairs. He has worked at farming for local ranches and has knowledge and can repair most farm machinery. We both spent 12 years as members of the local volunteer fire department, he as chief, and me as secretary treasurer. I also ran the weekly senior meal program in our small community for 17 years. Our son is a resident of New Zealand who met his New Zealand wife in Osan Korea. They live in Dunedin where he works at the University of Otago, and she is a teacher at a local school. This will be our fifth visit to New Zealand, and we have seen a lot of the country in the previous 3 visits. My sons' children are 20, 18, and 16. They live at the University. We would love to take care of your pets and home while you are away and while we are in NZ visiting my son and his family. We arrive the end of January 11, 2025 and will leave March 2, 2025. Growing up, my family had a Samoyed dog and two cats. My father was also the local dog walker and I often walked the dogs as well. Once I looked after a rabbit that needed daily injections for eight weeks . Currently, I am a house owner and I have a rental property in Auckland.I also teach full-time at a girls school and am responsible for the learning support department. With the goal of one day retiring outside of Auckland I would love an opportunity to look after someone else’s home and animals and explore other parts of the country. I am in my happy place with animals and nature and I am very fit, energetic and reliable. I enjoy road cycling, walking, yoga and swimming. My day typically starts at 5.30 am with a walk before work and finishes with another walk and sometimes yoga. At weekends, I cycle regularly 50 -70 kms for leisure. My other interests are vegetable gardening, reading and cooking. Our experience with looking after pets is owning cats, dogs and fish and having housesitters to care for them when we go away. Hello I'm Jane. My husband, Kerrin. and I live in a wonderful spot in the Bay of Plenty in New Zealand where we are lucky enough to share a beautiful beach community with like-minded, fun people. We love getting out and trying new things, having adventures, spending time with family and exploring our magnificent country and we have been on some wonderful trips in our trusty caravan. We have more freedom now that Kerrin is semi-retired and can come and go as he pleases. He has been landscaping for 34 years and would be very happy to do any repair and maintenance work such as paving or fencing, or even new work you might want to have done while you’re away. I am able to work remotely and am happy to take it with me. However, we have found it is not that easy to do in a caravan, thus the idea of housesitting! Of course this means I would be at home with your pets all day most days. We have also hosted BnB before so are aware of what is important to hosts, and would be very respectful of your property. I am also very house proud and a bit of a clean freak so you can be assured your house will be spotless! Having lived on a farm in Zimbabwe I am very used to working with all sorts of animals and have a huge love for them. We raised so many orphaned animals from deer, to squirrels and owls and nursed many injured or sick animals back to health. As well as this, we had 5 dogs, 3 cats, 2 aviaries and many little animals like rabbits, tortoises, guinea pigs and hamsters. My biggest challenge moving here 20 years ago was only being able to have one pet!! I have often looked after pets for friends and family. At the moment I have a Spoodle staying for a week and a friend drops her dog off with us everyday. I love taking them all walking on the beach- so special seeing them all playing and chasing each other! Last Christmas we house sat for my son for 10 days to look after his cats and chickens. I love the chance it gives me to have more animals in my life!

We lived and worked in Christchurch for 22 years, before moving to Papamoa 9 years ago. We have owned our own home for most of our 49 years of marriage, and have always taken pride in keeping both house and garden tidy and well maintained. We are genuine animal lovers and have had our own pets, mostly dogs, for all of that time. As our sons were growing up, our household pets also included a cockatiel, a black-hooded rat, and 2 goldfish! We have also frequently looked after a neighbour's diabetic cat, including giving daily insulin injections. As we are retired, we have more time to devote to your pets and your home. After our last elderly dog passed away 7 years ago, we really missed having a dog in our home, so became approved volunteer puppy boarders for Blind/Low Vision puppies, and are still enjoying providing this service. Allan's parents were dairy farmers, and he loved farm life. He is an enthusiastic golfer and gardener, a Justice of the Peace, and volunteers for the Papamoa Community patrol. Jenny is also a keen gardener, enjoys both an exercise/social group and a craft group, volunteers regularly at Good Neighbour Food Rescue, and loves being involved with a Music and Movement group for preschoolers and their Mums. We both belong to Probus, and are also rostered on for several roles at our church. As we have friends and family in Christchurch and various parts of the North Island, we are excited about the prospect of house sitting when we travel to those areas, as well as when we explore new areas that we haven't yet been to. When I was married and we bought our first house, having pets was a top priority. After 3 years we had 3 cats (Tabby, Tina and Kate) and 2 Beagles (Tony and Lucy). I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. Rosie's father is from NZ and Taz has extended family who emigrated here many years ago. We plan to make our long term home in New Zealand. I have done a lot of housing sitting over the years and have cared for and feed many animals. Auckland for 3 months looking after dogs and cats. Farm animals or feeding chickens, which is no problem as I am a country girl at heart. I have had looked after 3 large dogs. One that required monitored medication daily and exercise. I have also had to feed unwell cats medicine etc and have no problem caring for your pets no matter what there needs. I enjoy the company of animals especially since I am away from home so much. I love all animals and especially their little characters. Whilst I am at home during the summer months, I used to host overseas students that come to NZ to learn English. I have had many students over the years, Swiss, Thai, Arabian, Japanese, Chiian, Brazilian. They all love staying with me as i spend time with them and share our beautiful country with them often taking them somewhere for day trips etc. Homeowners can be assured that I will treat their home and their pets as they would themselves with upmost care and respect enabling them to have a stress free time away from home and to enjoy your holiday with no concerns. At present restoring a colonial house in Leigh area, caring for cats, little goats, chickens and a dog, since then work has stopped. My latest Housesit was in Western Springs for ten days, the ginger cat Lucy had a stroke so needed a lot of care. Lucy loved to sleep on the bed with me, I loved having her close. The other cat Diesel was more independent. My other duties were watering the garden and collecting the mail. Also over the Xmas new year period I went to houses with sole purpose of feeding, patting and caring for four different cats. Also specialise in turtle minding, feeding for my son and his girlfriend. Single professional, non-smoker, caring, reliable, and trustworthy. Hello, I have been housesitting for over 6 years. I'm from Christchurch, however I've been living in Tauranga for 12 years or so. For the past 2 years I have been travelling & housesitting in the North Island. (I am based in Tauranga for 2025) The gorgeous pets I have cared for include cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, sheep, chickens, cows, and guinea pigs. I do prefer to look after cats as I can go to work during the day (Please note: I do not work from home, I work as a temp) if you have a dog that can be left for the day that may work to? I love meeting new pets and especially love to catch up with wee friends I have cared for in the past. I absolutely adore cats and dogs, and have met some very interesting characters along the way! and I look forward to meeting many more. I grew up with a Cat and dog, and just love their company and playing with them, and don't mind at all if they snuggle up in bed. I'm also happy to administer medication and flea treatments etc. and take your wee friend to the vet if required. I can assure you that your house will be spotless on your return and I will treat it as if it were my own home, I'm quite the perfectionist. More than happy to water plants, garden etc. and really whatever else needs to be done, you only have to ask. I don't have green fingers therefore my gardening experience is very limited & sorry, I don't mow lawns ???? I do bring my own food and other essential items for the duration of my stay. I can also provide my own sheets and towels should this be required. Whilst your away I will keep in regular contact via text, Messenger or WhatsApp with a brief update and a photo or 2. Where possible it's nice to meet with the homeowner and pet/s in person, or via Messenger, WhatsApp etc. prior to the house sit. I am a hardworking primary school teacher who loves to spend time around nature and animals and travel around NZ in my spare time. I own my own home as well as a rental property, so am responsible and understanding towards other home owners. Growing up in rural Waikato with a father who is a conservationist, I was surrounded by all sorts of animals. I've had many pets/farm animals: guinea pigs, rabbits, birds, chickens, sheep, goats, ducks, geese, rodents, lizards, cats and a dog. I enjoy going for daily walks - rain or shine - so would relish the opportunity to share it with a furry friend. Some days in teaching it can feel like I'm trying to herd cats (herding sheep is easier in my experience). So, if I can take charge and responsibility for the safety and well-being a class of 30+ little people, I'm confident I am capable of doing the same for a few furry or feathered friends. I am taking a year of study leave from my permanent full-time teaching role to study, travel and explore.

Kia ora :) Antoine is from France and Pauline from Belgium, we have been in New Zealand respectively 3 and 10 years. Pauline studies full time in auckland so is bound to the city during school term. Antoine remotely works for a company based in Dunedin. Antoine's flexibility for work means he can travel around a bit. We currently live in Warkworth. Depending on the place and time, we could both be house siting or just one of us, eg auckland only for Pauline during school term. We had several experience house sitting friend's places and recently took up pet sitting to a more serious level :) We love animals but we are not in a position to have some at the moment, and we like to move around, so we thought house sitting would be a good opportunity to meet both those things. If there are cats involved, they won't be cuddle deprived as Antoine is crazy about them. We are both trained in permaculture, love gardening and work as gardeners and looking after properties so can easily keep an eye on your property. Hello ???? My name is Jojoy and I have lived a full and happy life. I love to travel and I have owned a few business and a farm. I live in a lovely tiny home in beautiful Golden Bay as I have recently sold my farm a d big villa to move onto a farm with my daughter and partner, his parents and two beautiful grandchildren.. It is wonderful to be there and support the whole family. I have no pets of my own as there is enough already on the farm. Dog, cats, horses, chickens, pigs, cows, goat. I love to exercise the horses and dogs. I am too young fit and healthy to just potter there all the time and I have house sat for lots of friends so they can go away. We LOVE pets, are extremely tidy, clean and respectful. Marlo is very cute and a good boy. I'd say we are kind, friendly and chill - early nights / cooking / baking / reading / and playing at the playground are what we love to do. We’re currently residing in my dads basement, so we can come and house sit at the drop of a hat. Long term would be preferred. As long as there is fast internet, heating, in a safe area, a secure carpark and TV we are good! (Depending on what pets you have - I might not be so keen on pitbulls or large dogs unless theyre old and really calm understandably with a todller around). We are fit, active, resourceful and capable individuals, and 'mature' enough to have experienced just about everything life could throw at you. We don't currently have fur-babies as we have just downsized and are now temporary urbanites. I am a keen gardener, fastidious housekeeper, and lover of the outdoors. We are looking for our slice of paradise to call home, so house/pet sitting is a great way for us to travel the country while we search for that ‘little’ corner of Aotearoa that makes our hearts sing. Hi there! I'm very new at this, but have lived alone for the past few years. Haha! I'm an easygoing man who like to spend his offdays hiking, cycling and surfing. I'm a PE teacher and work in the outdoor sector. So, trying to live as healthy as possible, love cooking some nice meals. I'm pretty tidy as we can't handle the mess. "If the kitchen is dirty, your whole house is dirty" -Mom - I have/had pets at home: 8 cats, 4 dogs, some chickens and even 2 goats, were our family's guests ones. I have experience in gardening, since I did it as a holiday-job and gained the trust of my parents back in the days, to do it at home as well! Haha She grew up on an orchard, always helping her dad. Good morning/afternoon, I am a French 24-year-old guy, I was a civil engineer in France before coming to New Zealand - I arrived 3 months ago. I intend to visit the country from the end of February, and I am currently living in Wellington, where I currently work in security. I have been living in a proper flat with one kiwi flatmate for 2 months now. I want to visit New Zealand until mid-April, and then I will be looking for a job in Auckland. For my trip throughout New Zealand, I will be travelling with my French partner I have actually met here in Wellington. She is Audrey, a 26-year-old girl. She is really (really) kind, friendly but also serious and tidy. She speaks better English than I do, as she arrived in the country 10 months ago. Furthermore, she is very familiar with NZ culture, landscapes, fauna and flora as she has been planning this trip for 4 years. Her job is a freelance graphic designer, so she is used to remote working. She has been a house sitter several times. She has also done some couch-surfing many times with good reviews. We are both animal lovers. I have personally grown up with 2 cats at home, and I have always liked playing with my uncle's dogs. Audrey has grown up with an American Akita and also loves cats. Plus, she has been horse riding when she was younger. We are both clean, serious and tidy person. We really appreciate taking care of our living and working spaces. Hello, Vanessa and Marcel here. We have been house-sitting for the Housesitting Company since 2018 and have done about 20 house-sits right around the country. Vanessa grew up in Mount Maunganui and Tauranga but has more recently lived in Otago for the last 20 years. Marcel has lived in Otago most of his life. We now live in Invercargill where Vanessa is studying to be a Nurse, and Marcel drives a School Bus. We both love dogs and cats and have had our own pets in the past. Marcel has until recently had Labradors and a couple of cats. Vanessa has recently had both cats and dogs, Chocolate and Vanilla the cats, and Chico was a very much loved Tibetan Spaniel. We have mainly looked after cats and dogs, but also horses, rabbits, fish, and one Axolotl. Vanessa has studied the first year of Vet Nursing at Otago Polytech and gained a Certificate in Animal Care. We both love the outdoors hiking in summer and skiing in winter.
