Kerikeri is one of the most historic places in New Zealand, and also one of the most beautiful. The Stone Store is New Zealand’s oldest stone building, whilst Kerikeri Mission Station was formed in 1819 and is situated by the banks of the river. Be sure also to check out the historic Kemp House, which dates from the early 19th Century and is a survivor of the Musket Wars of that time. Kerikeri is a great place to base yourself if you’re keen to explore the Bay of Islands and the breathtaking scenery of this magical part of the world.

Im a mother of three, grandmother of three, and love spending as much time as possible with my youngest granddaughter, Florence Rose, two months old. Although I live with a great housemate I need my own space at times and find house sitting almost like a retreat, where I can enjoy solitude, and my art & yoga practice. Im interested in design and decor, and appreciate the creative expression of peoples homes and gardens. A beautiful house I sat in last year was a riverside property, with lovely views of water and trees. The two dogs Jasper and Toto were alot of fun.. My recent sit, in Turiko, required care of chickens and lawns, both of which I tended with care. As a sitter I live quietly. Because I love home Ill be at yours most of the time. Im happy to mow lawns, and generally keep indoors and out neat and tidy. I walk most days and enjoy walking dogs, perferring smaller breds. Youll return home to find your house exactly as you left it, and if time permits, a casserole in the fridge and fruit bowl on the bench. Your home will welcome you back.

Newly retired Grew up on a farm so was used to (3)dogs from a very young age and we had a cat too. We had 150 cows a few sheep and 40 odd chocks as well. My grandmother supplied the local shop and she also keeps bees! My main interests are modern history and modern architecture and vintage engineering (cars aircraft trains and radios). Sold house in Takapuna and given away almost all my possessions. Intend to travel for the next 8 or 9 years including spending time with my wife in Melbourne. Just spending this summer 2025 here and looking at travelling in NZ, staying in campgrounds etc in my old Toyota. Have house sat for friends and relatives in the past. Looked after my cousins house in England in 2024 for a month while he was in NZ. I was a landlord for 20 years so know how to take care of other peoples houses. When children were young had cats, fish, birds and lots of plants Also have experience with rabbits and with dogs. Would prefer a longer sit and I am very flexible with location. Hi there my name is Hollie, I’m 38 years of age. I have been working abroad for 10 years, living in America, London and Australia. Moving back home in 2020 due to the borders closing. I am displaced due to my town house being rebuilt/reclad. This will be the case for approximately 12 months. So, I have the willingness to move around and operate as a home/farm sitter/manager. I am a mature person who has managed people's homes, farms and pets in the past. I managed a deer farm on occasions for a friend (who had deer, dogs, a goat, cats, emu and chickens) and on another occasion a friend's house with a Bengal cat. Life is one big adventure! I like to be kept busy; I love to travel, discovering out of the way places, meeting new people & embracing life. But my family pets have always been a top priority. House sitting offers some exciting opportunities, but more specifically it will provide me with the pleasures of 'adopting' your family pets, if only for a short time. (And, I certainly miss not having my own pet to care for). There has always been a cat or dog (or both) in the house and then there have been the children's tropical fish, German rat, guinea pigs, rabbits, and birds! We've even had a couple of cats 'adopt' us! I also volunteered for 18 months at a bird rescue centre a few years ago which was a very rewarding experience. From a young age until her early 20s, I also used to spend a lot of time at my aunt & uncles farm where they had a dairy herd, goats and a chicken run. Animals have always featured in my life. I have been fortunate to have had some wonderful House & pet sitting opportunities over the past 3 years (with a global house sitting company) looking after dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and birds - most of these sits were while I was based in the UK. I'm now cutting back on my time away from NZ and, after hearing very positive comments about The Housesitting Company, have decided to join so that I can focus more on NZ sits. I'd be delighted to look after and love your family pets and I will take excellent care of your home. 1) I love spending time in areas of New Zealand away from the main cities. I am happiest when at home in cared for surroundings, and when caring from my surroundings. I have been a keen gardener all my life (always pottering!), I understand plants well and happily assist in other people's gardens. My work as a lecturer means I do a lot of work from home, and online. This allows me to be flexible with regards to my location. I thrive in quiet surroundings with nature, animals and birds around me. 2) I grew up around animals (a great variety!), and have always had them in my life. People comment that their pets are calm in my presence and they often seek to have contact with me. My father's family were originally farmers in Southland. In my childhood, we often had family holidays on farms and I am very comfortable around farm animals. Daily walks (and gentle jogs) are part of my health and lifestyle routine, wherever I happen to be living. I love walking with dogs as company and I previously owned two dogs when I was younger. I currently care for my neighbour's cat, which seems to have adopted my house for his daily naps. 3) People often miss their homes when they are away, and I would take pride in ensuring that their home (and garden) is in perfect condition when they return, and their pets are happy and healthy. I am a home owner myself (and a landlord), and I know quite a lot about the upkeep of a home and a property. I am able to use home appliances and garden maintenance tools confidently.

We are a friendly, quiet couple, non-smokers, who have travelled extensively both nationally and internationally so as to discover the beauty and complexity of this country and overseas, whilst caring for your home and pets. We are currently based at our home in Auckland, but are ready to travel whenever the opportunity arises. About us: David spent much of his early years on a farm in Matamata, before moving with his family to Auckland. He has worked for Air New Zealand, and its predecessor NAC, for many years as an airline pilot, both short and long haul and is now retired. David is involved in IT support for a couple of charity groups, which can be carried out anywhere there is internet connection. We do not need much internet - its mostly offline work. Adrienne, also retired, has worked as a nurse, teaching assistant and caregiver. She is a keen gardener and loves walking, crafts and reading. We are enjoying this next phase of life, exploring other parts of this beautiful country, and beyond. We recently chose to spend a year in the beautiful Bay of Plenty and then a year based in Christchurch. Now we have returned to Northern parts where we are continuing to care for your furred, finned and feathered families. Our gorgeous bi-colour ragdoll cat is no longer with us, leaving us free to care for your home and pets. Jerry and I are now retired after selling our very successful Takeaway business which we operated for the last 8 years. We have now reached the age where we wish to enjoy our retirement with traveling around NZ in our caravan and doing some house sitting. We own our own house in Auckland which has a lovely tenant and we wish to leave her in the property as she is very settled there. We have just had the most amazing house sit for 8 weeks looking after 7 kittens, 3 cats and 3 chickens. Very entertaining especially seeing the kittens growing from when they were only 3 days old when we arrived. Jerry and I are very reliable and honest people who keep grounds and homes in excellent condition. Our interests are fishing, hunting, travelling around in our lovely caravan and meeting lots of interesting people. I've been house sitting both for travel, and professionally for the last 18 years, caring for pets & homes in various locations from rural Thailand, to central Auckland and to the coast of Turkey. I've looked after cats, dogs, horses, chickens, ducks, as well as some farm animals. I particularly love taking care of cats. I've valued the opportunity to be trusted with other peoples pets and property. I've minded luxury homes, yachts, Airbnb's, through to rural cottages, and welcome all opportunities. I have my own business online curating vintage clothing & home decor, finding unique items for others who appreciate them. Having travelled extensively in more than 45 countries, housesitting enables me to continue to live a nomadic lifestyle, and still enjoy the comforts of home. Hi there, my name is Kirsty and I am wife to Richard and Mum to two lovely daughters who are 11 and 7. We are ex Aucklanders who moved to Wanganui in 2019. I am a full time Mum (with a background in Event Management), my husband owns his own building company. We are a Christian family who love music, theatre, nature/outdoors, singing, reading, animals and travelling. Our reasons for wanting to house sit are two fold. 1) For opportunities to stay in or near Auckland for longer term visits to see our family who we really miss and 2) We absolutely love exploring our beautiful country, but as living costs increase it's becoming harder and harder to have holidays away. We usually stay in air bnbs, but house sitting would help us out immensely. We are home owners in Wanganui and we have also extensively used air bnbs to take our girls on mini breaks away. All our reviews from staying in different homes have been A+. We also personally keep a very tidy, organised, clean home in Wanganui. Although we don't own a lot of pets (currently one cat), we love animals and plan to one day foster or rescue a dog! We are very caring by nature and very frequently visit friends farms in Wanganui who have a wide range of pets/farm animals which our girls love to experience. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. Our girls are also very respectful and tidy and absolutely love nothing more than 'playing house' when we go on holiday. I believe this would be replicated if we were to house sit. We are a recently retired couple who enjoy seeing different parts of New Zealand. House sitting would enable us to experience being part of the community and seeing more of the real New Zealand (instead of staying in anonymous Motels). We have had many adventures including walking the backcountry several times, but with age feel it's time to hang up the tramping boots and concentrate on more urban areas. Now we have a classic car and enjoy driving with other enthusiasts exploring some back roads on rallies and displaying the vehicle at car shows. We don't have a pet of our own as it would be unfair to leave them at home alone while we travel and so get our fix interacting with other peoples pets. In the past we have experienced house sitting, mostly friends or friends of friends, who have precious fur babies who they couldn't bear to put into kennels/catteries due to an earlier bad experience or being elderly and needing extra care. Being house owners ourselves we understand the need to keep the house and section to the same standard as it was left. We are both physically fit and have no problem if your dog loves long walks.

I have various volunteer roles here, plus grandchildren, and Robin is a trauma therapist working from home - he retired from a medical career in 2020. We have used house sitters for our own home when we used to travel overseas for work and appreciated the security it gave us while we were away, knowing that our home and pets would be lovingly cared for. We would be very happy to provide this for other people. We are both very clean and tidy - we take pride in having a lovely comfortable home. My husband is also very handy (he also has an engineering background which helps here) and can usually fix almost anything! I love to cook, and enjoy gardening, walking and exploring new places. I am a very fit and active retiree. I left the workforce eight years ago to travel to various parts of the world, including some of NZ which I hadn’t yet been to. I have been involved in sport all my life and interested in organics and sustainabilities for many years, so decided to become a Woofer (Willing Worker On Organic Farms). I have thoroughly enjoyed all my placements in NZ, Australia, USA and Portugal. I have visited places and met people that I would never had the chance as a tourist and learnt about growing fruits, vegetables and raising animals in an totally organic and sustainable manner. I have looked after many animals and learnt how to give back to the land for future harvests. Six years ago in 2018 I bought a lifestyle property in the Far North, so have not been able to travel as much, or house sit as I used to, while working hard on my land. Now however I have more spare time, & look forward to being able to travel in NZ. I currently work on my orchard of 100+ trees of every description imaginable, & 4 large vegetable plots. I farm totally organically, eat in season, & am self sufficient(++) with fruit, vegetables & eggs from my 5 chickens. I am able to swap my excesses for milk, meat, cheese & bread! I feel very fortunate. I also have extra acreage which I use for growing grass, (local farmer makes hay in summer). I have also done two caminos (long walks) in both France, and Portugal into Spain. These were 750 and 700km respectively, in 2014 & 2017. My most recent was from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. I have been a proud homeowner since 1980. As a house sitter, you will have someone with old fashion values of care & respect for your property, a good work ethic, totally reliable & honest. As for pets, when my children were growing up, we had a Staffordshire bull terrier, rabbits, cats, cockatiel and baby goats. Currently I have 5 chickens. While woofing I have looked after lots of dogs, cats, goats (learnt to milk), chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, and loved all those times. My woofing hosts would sometimes leave me to house sit at weekends, or in one case, for 10 days when an unavoidable event happened. On that occasion I looked after a small farmlet of goats, cows chickens, vegetable garden, orchard....the entire property. I loved the challenge and was totally equal to the task of overall management. I love outdoors work. Obviously I enjoy walking, so dogs love me for their twice daily long walks. I moved back to Aotearoa after spending 10 years in Melbourne, Australia where I enjoyed looking after lots of beautiful pets (and even 3 llamas and a goat!). I am a 79 year old ex-South African. Retired but still doing some consulting, remotely. Full driver's licence. I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish (also lamas and even rats) - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. We are an active, fit, retired couple who, because we live in the city have no pets of our own. I am farm raised and have worked with animals all my life until I retired. In the past I have bred Boxers. We are both experienced sitters and have been looking after the pets of others for several years. We have spent a month in UK doing two successful 10-day dog sits for both of which we received 5-star reviews. We have also done several pet sits in Australia and New Zealand. In the summer immediately preceeding Covid we travelled in the South Island for 3 months and pet sat in several locations during that time, getting to know various areas and meeting the locals. I own an online English academy. I'm in charge of a team of 8 professionals and 80 to 90 students. Therefore I can portrait myself as a responsible and dependable person. As a teenager I was a foreign exchange student, and as a college student I resided in girls residencies, so I could say I've had practice in terms of following people's household rules. It's not a problem for me to adjust to the needs a family, house and pets might have under my watch. I have no doubt I could care for your home as if it were my own with the gratitude of being able to reside in it. I'm extremely clean and organized, and make the place around me to fit that criteria. You can count on having your house cared after as if you would be there. When it comes to pets, I'm a pet lover, I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, and I've been through many situations with them, including hospitalization and short term treatment medication, so I consider myself to be able to respond correctly in case of emergency, I'm knowledgable in dog behaviors and could catch anything out of the ordinary and report it to you for your peace of mind. My dogs are under an organic meal routine so I meal prep for them, and walk them 60 to 90 minutes per day, so I'm use to following a routine for them. Cats on the other hand are more independent so they just play in our backyard or sleep. I've had pets since I was a child so I feel it just comes natural to me to care for them. I think of my pet as my own children therefore the love and respect I have for them is as if they were human beings. You can be certain that your pets will be taken care of with love and respect. I'm currently housesitting my sister's house and her dog Leon, a 4-year old moodle. Among other experiences: In march I housesat my sister’s friend house in the Gold Coast for a week, caring for the house and her dog Cruiser, a 7-years old American bully. I have housesat my uncle's house two summers when he would go on vacation, caring for the house and Chuni and Chunita, his 2 pitbulls. I have also housesat my former in-laws house and their dog, 2 summers ago, Neri a 4 year-old Schnautzer, and Charlie a 2 year-old dachshund. I have never cared for somebody else's cat but I'm confident that nothing should go wrong, cats usually like me and cuddle with me whenever I'm at cat owner's houses. I find it to be extremely beneficial for me to be surrounded by pets, so I enjoy spending quality time with them. I work remotely so I spend most of the day at home when traveling.

I am a young and active senior who retired at Christmas 2021, I had worked with Ontario's largest Children's Mental Health Agency for 18 years. I am a non smoker and tea total (well coffee addict). I arrived in back NZ early 2022 after spending 19 years in Canada. My husband passed away in 2021. Quite the battle to get into MIQ to return home, with the lotto draw they installed !!! I house sat before leaving for Canada in Omokoroa and Mount Maunganui. One was an Avocado Orchard and they had 70 Parrots in aviaries on the property, such fun. I have been the proud owner of 5 rescue Old English Sheepdogs.. not all at the same time !!!! so I know about grooming. My last dog Boomer was 116lbs, (52.5kg) a big strong boy and the light of our lives. In 2020 we started to foster dogs brought up from Texas from the "high kill" pounds. Copper was our first, A Walker Coon Hound... never heard of them before and what a delight with his howl. I will leave your home as you left it though I do enjoy gardening and cleaning windows... My hobbies are reading, walking, knitting and TV..... I am a friendly person. get on with most people, I am the listener not the talker... I grew up in UK, came to NZ and then followed my son to Canada. Just went for a holiday and met my husband, tore up my ticket and stayed put for 19 years....... I consider NZ home..... My aim is to enjoy my retirement by experiencing new places and meeting new people. House sitting is a wonderful way to achieve the above in a win-win situation. I love the animals and the outdoors. I am a retired GP and I know how precious life is. I used to have cats and dogs and a couple of turtles when I was younger and I loved them dearly. I remember a pair of Doberman puppies, Linda and Max. I "saved" them from their mother who had too many babies to be able to feed them properly. They were 5 days old and I bottle fed them and looked after them until they were 4-5 months old. Linda went to another owner and I wanted to keep Max, but alas, one day he disappeared from my parents' well fenced garden. Then I had Jimmy (it was during Jimmy Carter's time). I found him on the street. He was a naughty boy and used to ruin everything around the house including our neighbors' washings and other belongings. He was adopted by a family who lived in the country side. A cat I found on the steps in front of my apartment, a couple of turtles that grew up nicely in our flat. When I bought a village house with a big garden about 4 years ago, it came with Athos, a Romanian shepherd dog who had established his headquarters on this property. Nobody knew exactly how old he was. They only knew that he was left behind by his flock more than 16 years ago (see photo). And now a bit more about myself as your house sitter. I will keep your house tidy and clean, I like to be punctual and keep my word, I am open and friendly. Other hobbies that I might entertain while house sitting beside looking after your pets could be reading, handcraft, learning Japanese, walking and gardening as needed. We are both writers, working in the tourism sector, and we met in beautiful Bali where we have been living since 1998 and 2006. We have travelled extensively in Indonesia, including trips to some of the country's remotest corners. We have been together for 15 years, we got married in New Zealand in 2021, and we are now living our dream dividing our time between Bali and New Zealand with a little bit of England and Europe thrown in along the way. We spend five months in Bali each year, one month in Europe and the UK, and six months in New Zealand from December to June. We invite guests to stay in our house in Bali and do home exchanges when we are in New Zealand and Europe, hence us looking for some more places to stay in New Zealand. We are both animal lovers, having rescued numerous cats and dogs off the streets in Bali over the many years that we have lived here. They all became much loved members of our respective households until our last cat and finally our last dog crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago. We miss them terribly but when we made the lifestyle change to divide our time between Bali and New Zealand, we made the decision not to get any more pets. However, our love and respect for animals has not diminished and that is why we look forward to looking after other people's pets. We both work from home so will be around nearly all day every day to give your animals all the love and attention they need. I'll look after your home and pets as if they were my own - keep the house clean and tidy, bring in mail, and keep in touch by text/email/whatsapp if required. I'm happy to water plants but prefer not to mow lawns or weed gardens (although this can be negotiated for longer sits). Growing up, my family had a Samoyed dog and two cats. My father was also the local dog walker and I often walked the dogs as well. When I was a stay at home mum,I developed a reputation for being a foster mother for many animals. I have adopted bunnies, guinea pigs and 8 hens from friends who could no longer care for their animals. On top of this, I transformed our 1/4 acre section into a stunning garden and started a tutoring business. When friends went away,I would care for their animals either at their homes or at my home. Once I looked after a rabbit that needed daily injections for eight weeks . Currently, I am a house owner and I have a rental property in Auckland.I also teach full-time at a girls school and am responsible for the learning support department. With the goal of one day retiring outside of Auckland I would love an opportunity to look after someone else’s home and animals and explore other parts of the country. I am in my happy place with animals and nature and I am very fit, energetic and reliable. I enjoy road cycling, walking, yoga and swimming. My day typically starts at 5.30 am with a walk before work and finishes with another walk and sometimes yoga. At weekends, I cycle regularly 50 -70 kms for leisure. My other interests are vegetable gardening, reading and cooking. 1. About Us & Why We House Sit We’re Doug and Sharon Braddock, a trustworthy, down-to-earth couple from New Zealand. Our flexible lifestyle lets us house sit once or twice a year — a chance to serve others, care for pets and homes, and enjoy new surroundings. 2. Experience & Pet Care We’ve owned a small farm with animals from lambs, ducks, rabbits, budgies, cockatiels, fish, frogs, hedgehog babies (they're very interesting), and a pet rat! Now living in suburbia we have a golden retriever dog and four cats (they'll be staying at our own home and not coming on our house sit). Sharon has a gentle, nurturing approach with animals and plants alike, and Doug’s practical skills in maintenance and security make us a capable, caring team. 3. What You Can Expect We’re reliable, tidy, and respectful of your home, pets, and privacy. You’ll return to everything just as you left it — or a little better. You can be sure your house and pets are in great, trustworthy hands with a police constable (Shannon) and a self employed graphic designer (Karen). We love exploring different parts of New Zealand and love animals so would welcome the opportunity to look after your house and pets. We are both non smokers, in our 40s and don't have children so have a lot of flexibility to travel when we choose. I have experience looking after neighbours dogs, cats, horses, sheep as well as on our own farm we have a range of cattle , poultry and sheep. goats and horses. I have a farming back ground and looking after your home and animals while you are away is very appealing way to visit a new area while providing you with the reassurances that your animals are in good safe hands. We are positive outgoing people. We understand the necessity to have people to look after your house and look after your pets because we travel ourselves and employ housesitters. Our experience with looking after pets is owning cats, dogs and fish and having housesitters to care for them when we go away. Homeowners will find that we respect their property and their gardens and pets are well cared for. David is a retired Quality and Safety Engineer from Airbus. Margaret is recently retired from Administration. David is an avid DIYer and keen sportsman, having previously played, coached and refereed Rugby, run half-marathons and dragon boat national champion. We now enjoy walking and hiking together. Margaret is a previous piano teacher and now enjoys quilting and playing Bridge. With our family mostly scattered around the country we look forward to house sitting with a view to spending more time with them. We also look forward to seeing more of the country. We prefer short-term sits (no longer than 2 weeks) and to look after pets that we can leave during the day.

Kia ora! We're Karl and Kate, a friendly, organized, and animal-loving Kiwi-Canadian couple of ten years. We’ve completed over 50 house sits in the past; however, we're new to The Housesitting Company’s platform. We’re happy to provide a long list of references from homeowners across Aotearoa, where we've looked after dogs, cats, livestock, and pets of all kinds. We both grew up in tidy households with pets of all shapes and sizes, so we know what it takes to keep a house in order, and our animal friends happy, healthy, and thriving. We love having pets, but as frequent travellers, we now seek out opportunities to keep animals in our lives through housesitting. In 2018-2020, we travelled, house-sat and cared for many cats and dogs abroad through the Workaway program. From 2021, we fostered an energetic and high-needs rescue dog for 18 months in Canada, and with the support of a trainer, improved his behaviour and built our skill-set to care for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and backgrounds. Finally, since 2023, we’ve been house-sitting in New Zealand full-time, when travelling or working abroad. We've been homeowners for many years, and landlords for some, so know how to take care of a property. We're nature lovers and avid gardeners, so if you have plants they'll certainly be in good hands!

My children and I lived on a 10 acre block in Waimauku for several years and cared for a variety of animals including cats, dogs, hens, sheep, cows, and the occasional rabbit and duck! Because of Geoff's years spent at sea his opportunities to care for pets have been limited, but in his younger years his family owned cats, dogs and budgies. Geoff and I spend the summer months,October through to April, in New Zealand, which is when we are available for house sitting. We have a yacht berthed in Penang, Malaysia, and we are there during New Zealand's winter months. Geoff has spent nearly 13 years cruising in South East Asia, and I joined him in 2012. Geoff is a shipwright and is capable of servicing a wide range of appliances, machinery etc.He served in the New Zealand navy for 8 years and after leaving he worked as a commercial diver whilst building his first yacht. After sailing for many years in the Pacific, Australia, Africa and Europe, he settled in Brisbane, where he set up his shipwright business. He then built his second yacht and set sail for South East Asia. My previous working life involved a variety of positions, including working as a supervisor in a childcare centre in Waimauku, Auckland, and then as a sterile services technician at North Shore hospital in Auckland. I have two sons who live in the Netherlands and Belgium, and 1 grandson. Because of our lifestyle on the yacht we are organised and tidy in our habits. We enjoy exploring new environments, so house sitting promises to be a great way to meet new people, have some much-needed interaction with animals again, and reunite us with different parts of our country after being away for so many years. Although we are away from New Zealand at times, we are always able to participate in video calls via either Skype or What's App.

Hi! We're Rose and Will - a mature, young, trustworthy, and quiet Kiwi couple based in Auckland. We have previous house-sitting experience, and take pride in caring for people's pets and homes. We’ve lived with animals our whole lives (Cats - Theo, Trevor, Molly), owned 3 rabbits ( Cosmo, Blindy, Tricks) and we both grew up raising chickens in residential homes. Will has also worked at Auckland Zoo, where he did landscaping/gardening in and out of the animal enclosures, so I would say he has more experience around exotic animals than me. We are very responsible and experienced house sitters who treat homes and pets like family. With Will working from home and me full-time Monday–Friday, your pets will have consistent daytime company and attention (wether that's belly rubs, walks or pats). I have a passion for home cooking and Will has a green thumb which he got from his parents and working in the outdoors for many years. He has since shared his gardening tips with me, so I'm not so bad myself. We are clean and tidy, follow instructions carefully (including outdoor care), and are very responsive with communication. Hi there, I’m a chef by trade, currently working as a soft landscaper and gardener, with the occasional joy of helping out at a bushcraft school for kids. If your garden needs tending to while you're away, I’d be more than happy to lend a green thumb. At heart, I’m a bit of a homebody, I love pottering around the house, cooking nourishing meals, sewing, crocheting, painting and drawing, and watching a good documentary. I take pride in keeping a home clean, calm, and cared for. I grew up surrounded by animals~ dogs, cats, birds, goats and I’ve always felt deeply connected to them. I’m confident, loving, and attentive with all creatures, big and small. I feel very at home in rural or farm settings and am super comfortable in my own company, often thriving in quieter, more remote places. House sitting has been a natural extension of that for me. I’ve done it a number of times and always enjoy the quiet rhythm of looking after a home, especially when there are animals to care for. We are a responsible, long term, married, retired couple. With more free time at our disposal house sitting becomes an attractive way to be useful to others as well as offering new experiences for us. We have travelled internationally for both business and family overseas, as well as extensively throughout New Zealand, and having lived long spells in Wellington, Auckland and now retired to Bay of Plenty. With the family overseas, often our time away has been for up to 3 months, and on those occasions we have had friends and others staying at our home. We know what it is like to make your home available to others who you are familiar with and some who you are not but still have that small apprehension about whether it will be ok. We know how you are feeling making this commitment. We have been long term dog and cat owners, and currently regularly play house parents to a friend's dog. Walking and appropriate exercise is not a problem. Other friends also call on us to house sit and mind their precious moggy, often for longer periods. With golf being a sport that we both enjoy, the opportunity to play courses in your region is an added appeal for house sitting. but also assures you that we are fit and able to walk as far as your pets need. Choosing us to look after your house and pets will give maximum assurance that all will be well cared for, and treated as if they were our own. Go on your holiday and relax and enjoy in the knowledge that everything at home is being well cared for. When we sit for you, your home and pets are our primary concern. We travel specifically for your sit, and make any of our other arrangements fit around the primary focus, which is you. We like to make plans in advance, often months ahead, we only travel by car not campervan, our planning giving you surety of a great sitter and also the knowledge that your sit is sorted. This allows you to focus on all the other good things about going on holiday, and us to sit for other owners as schedules allow.

I'm generally adventurous, I grew up as a farmer's daughter, so I appreciate animals and the environment. I have two adult children, one nearby in New Plymouth and the other in Australia. I recently returned from Australia where I had one house-sitting position and three woofing placements. My main past times are gardening, riding my electric bike, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the years I've had numerous significant pets. My first was a calf that I cared for and trained. Because of my fondness for her, my Father kept her until I was seventeen when I went to the Waikato to qualify as a Nurse. Another pet I was particularly fond of was a canary, which sang beautifully and I called him Gusto. Unfortunately, he died during covid. More recently I had a stray cat that determinedly made herself home with me. Pets are great companions and I appreciate them very much. I began house-sitting before retirement, and have cared for cats and dogs, plus a few sheep and a donkey. These situations have been for family, friends, and acquaintances for periods of almost a week to a month.

I was born in Christchurch. I lived 26 yrs in NZ and now 40+ in California. I go home to NZ once or twice a year. I have just said goodby to my 15 year old Mini Pinscher that I rescued at 1yr old. He was very active and we walked twice a day. I volunteered for the Golden Retriever rescue for 6 years interviewing adopters, walking the goldens, and picking up very frightened golden's from shelters to bring into our rescue. I have always had a cat, the biggest love of them was 19 when he passed on. I have a 5 yr old rescue black cat. I also grew up with chooks. I am a competent horse rider and will consider looking after most animals. Would love to throw on my gum boots and head out to the paddock to cover a horse or move an animal to another paddock. I am a Scottish country dancer and like to walk, garden, read and knit. I am willing to go anywhere in NZ and would prefer a rural setting. I am looking forward to my next trip to be a Kiwi for a few months this year from early Sept 2025 - Jan 2026.

Hi I’m Bernadette. Ive recently sold my large property in Tauranga after 15 years there. I was an Airbnb super host for the last 5 years so used to holding a high standard in all areas. I’m also trained in horticulture, established an extensive home orchard with vegetable crops, was regularly involved in the local cropswap and worked as a part time gardener. I love to create colourful inspiring landscapes and enjoy all things nature. Some other hobbies are art, yoga, dance, cooking ,learning, meditating, experiencing different cultures and solo travel.
