We are a semi-retired couple who like to take breaks away from our busy life in Raglan. I have various volunteer roles here, plus grandchildren, and Robin is a trauma therapist working from home - he retired from a medical career in 2020. We have used house sitters for our own home when we used to travel overseas for work and appreciated the security it gave us while we were away, knowing that our home and pets would be lovingly cared for. We would be very happy to provide this for other people. We are both very clean and tidy - we take pride in having a lovely comfortable home. My husband is also very handy (he also has an engineering background which helps here) and can usually fix almost anything! I love to cook, and enjoy gardening, walking and exploring new places. We also enjoy reading and various crafts. We have a cat, and three chickens at the moment. We have had a dog in the past (a beautiful border collie) but he passed away some time ago and because we were travelling a fair bit at that time we haven't got another dog.

Hi there, I'm Emmylou - a single working professional. I have recently found myself looking for a new place to live and have decided to focus on saving a few extra dollars towards a home deposit by venturing back into the world of house-sitting which I did in my early 30's for a period of time. I work part-time as both a Physiotherapist and an Chartered Accountant. My Accountancy work is remote. The only day that I struggle to be home for long periods of time are Tuesday as this is the one full day that I spend in the clinic with clients. I consider myself to be honest, respectful and trustworthy and take great pride in keeping the environments that I am in both clean & tidy and equally leaving them in a better state than in which they were entrusted to me. I love the outdoors and keeping active and healthy and with this I do not smoke (and would therefore not be interested in homes if you are smoker sorry) and love taking dogs on runs / walks with me. As far as personal interests - I am a keen hiker, surfer, sailor, runner (obviously) and definitely enjoy yoga. I have been brought up around animals - I love them - they bring so much joy to our lives! You can be sure that I will love and care for your "family members" as if they were my own. In fact, that's probably the hardest thing about house sitting is not able to take my new found friends with me! I will treat your precious home with respect as if it were my own. I am happy to follow any instructions that you wish to leave and can also keep you updated whilst you are away including Skype dates with your family members (pets) left in my care. Steve and I have been married for almost 42 years and are semi-retired parents and grandparents. We are young at heart and enjoy spending time with our family, grandchildren, and friends. Steve is a part time IT contractor and often works from home. I also work part time, as a self employed private house cleaner. In the past we have owned a small lifestyle block on which we ran dry stock, raised calves, tendered to our chickens. Our black Labrador, Luke enjoyed farm life along with his pal Smoky our cat which out lived him by reaching the grand age of 18. Presently we are pet free due to a clause we have in a crosslease agreement forbidding animals. However we frequently look after our daughters family dog Mia an anxious Labradoodle and a frisky cat called Misty. We are an active, fit, retired couple who, because we live in the city have no pets of our own. I am farm raised and have worked with animals all my life until I retired. In the past I have bred Boxers. We are both experienced sitters and have been looking after the pets of others for several years. We have spent a month in UK doing two successful 10-day dog sits for both of which we received 5-star reviews. We have also done several pet sits in Australia and New Zealand. In the summer immediately preceeding Covid we travelled in the South Island for 3 months and pet sat in several locations during that time, getting to know various areas and meeting the locals. We are both active golfers, Warwick is a handyman and I am a keen gardener. Subsequently, since the end of lockdown we have done repeated sits for the same pet owners in Hawkes Bay and recently sat in Auckland. Hi there, Thanks for your time. My name is Stephen and I'm a mature, quiet, well adjusted person in his 60's whom loves cats, dogs and most other animals. My sister and I sold our family home in Auckland and decided to 'take a break' from it all and she suggested we try house-sitting. I see this as a win-win for all parties involved, especially the pets as they get to be looked after and cared for in their own home. I love helping owners relax when they go away, providing them with peace of mind knowing that all is well with their loved ones and home. Massimo, my Staffordshire Bull Terrier of 13 years past away in November 2015 (see photo in my profile) and I miss him dearly. This is also a great way of getting my regular 'pet fix' and enjoying a variety of new canine/ feline friends. As a keen photographer, I am also looking forward to exploring and taking some great shots of the local areas. I also love photographing pets whilst they're relaxed at home, so leave me a USB drive and there should be some nice portraits waiting on your return! For the last 20 years I've been working in the support side of Information Technology and will be using this time to research a new career in Organisational Development. This means I will be there for pets that are used to constant companionship as I have my own PC and will spend a fair amount of time on the internet doing this and other leisure activities. Having also owned my own home, I've had cats and/ or dogs for most of my life and will care and cherish yours as if they were my own and I know what it means to take care of and run a household. My sister Sarah is also a sitter with The Housesitting Company and is also doing some sitting through this organisation and we plan to over-lap our schedules so it is highly likely that she will be staying with me at times. You can rest assured that I will treat your home and privacy with care and respect and that your home will as be clean and tidy as you left it. I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. Hello my name is Dave! I am a very healthy and fit retired builder/joiner. For 30 years I ran my own building and joinery company. I have been living in Australia and have recently returned as the heat was too much for me! My lovely wife passed away a few years ago after 47 years of marriage. As I am on my own I feel housesitting would be a wonderful way for me to meet new people and see a little bit of New Zealand. House sitting is such a wonderful win-win for all parties involved and since I have no ties, I am able to have the pleasure of helping homeowners go away, care for their beloved pets and home, whilst being able to explore my own 'back yard'. House sitting will also allow me to decide more of the region of New Zealand I want to purchase a property in, in the future. I am currently living with my twin sister in Paraparaumu and helping her look after her two Jack Russells. I have three sons and four wonderful grandchildren. I am a young and active senior who retired at Christmas 2021, I had worked with Ontario's largest Children's Mental Health Agency for 18 years. I am a non smoker and tea total (well coffee addict). I arrived in back NZ early 2022 after spending 19 years in Canada. My husband passed away in 2021. Quite the battle to get into MIQ to return home, with the lotto draw they installed !!! I house sat before leaving for Canada in Omokoroa and Mount Maunganui. One was an Avocado Orchard and they had 70 Parrots in aviaries on the property, such fun. I have been the proud owner of 5 rescue Old English Sheepdogs.. not all at the same time !!!! so I know about grooming. My last dog Boomer was 116lbs, (52.5kg) a big strong boy and the light of our lives. In 2020 we started to foster dogs brought up from Texas from the "high kill" pounds. Copper was our first, A Walker Coon Hound... never heard of them before and what a delight with his howl. I will leave your home as you left it though I do enjoy gardening and cleaning windows... My hobbies are reading, walking, knitting and TV..... I am a friendly person. get on with most people, I am the listener not the talker... I'm generally adventurous, I grew up as a farmer's daughter, so I appreciate animals and the environment. I have two adult children, one nearby in New Plymouth and the other in Australia. I recently returned from Australia where I had one house-sitting position and three woofing placements. My main past times are gardening, riding my electric bike, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the years I've had numerous significant pets. My first was a calf that I cared for and trained. Because of my fondness for her, my Father kept her until I was seventeen when I went to the Waikato to qualify as a Nurse. Another pet I was particularly fond of was a canary, which sang beautifully and I called him Gusto. Unfortunately, he died during covid. More recently I had a stray cat that determinedly made herself home with me. Pets are great companions and I appreciate them very much. I began house-sitting before retirement, and have cared for cats and dogs, plus a few sheep and a donkey. We had numerous pets when my children were at home, including guinea pigs, rabbits, ducks, cats, lovebirds, tadpoles, a lamb and I remember looking after the school mice in the holidays. Im a keen and active rugby player in England and I have worked and saved hard to travel to New Zealand for your summer. I work in a dog friendly hotel in many high responsibility roles such as, office work, resident management, general maintenance of rooms and gardening, barman and management of deliveries. A 'jack' of all trades, no pun intended! In these positions, personal hygiene is a must and something i personally take pride in. As we are a dog friendly hotel, even when I am at work I am still providing and caring for dogs. At home I take care of 3 dogs, a young puppy a middle child and a senior dog who requires extra attention. she takes regular medication which I administer and monitor. she recently had a large swelling in her face, a cyst of sorts which meant the use of other specialist antibiotics and ointments had to be used. Growing up I have never been without dogs and have lots of experience taking care of them. I am very active with them with regular walks. I love spending time with dogs and would like to have the opportunity to have this companionship along my travels. I will not be working in the time of house sitting arrangements so I will have plenty of time to spend with your pets should they be used to/need a lot of attention. we have a resident cat at the hotel as well which I am responsible for too. In terms of house care I am used to living on my own, washing, cleaning, bins, Laundry etc, so your house will be in safe hands along with your pets. Housesitting would give us the opportunity to discover parts of our beautiful country that we haven't yet been to, to revisit places we already love and to be near family and friends. Cam and I(Meg) are long term renters and through working seasonally we have lived in multiple peoples personal homes (i.e. not strictly rental properties) while they have relocated elsewhere for the respective season. Through these living arrangements we have felt fortunate to have a close relationship with the homeowners, which for us, creates a deeper respect of the property and the things living on it (some previous examples include many plants and a cat). As a house sitter you can expect us to care for your space like it is our own, to the standards you expect. If you have animals or plant friends that need to be cared for you can trust that they will be in good hands. I worked for many years in the Hair and Beauty industry as a Hairdresser and Beauty therapist. I have owned business and employed staff in the past. I now work remotely for a septic tank cleaning company doing telemarketing and database management. During the Covid lockdown I revived my crafting stills creating some interesting upcycling projects. I had been asked by friends to housesit and care for their pets. Many of these people I am still in contact with. On my return to New Zealand my desire to travel remained so I continued to move around seeing more of our beautiful Aotearoa. Among the animals I have cared for cats both indoor and outdoor, dogs large and small young and old, chickens ducks and fish and also some livestock. Returning to housesits many times means I have developed some great friendships with both the animals and their owners, and also in some cases neighbors and friends in communities. I am a very fit and active retiree. I left the workforce eight years ago to travel to various parts of the world, including some of NZ which I hadn’t yet been to. I have been involved in sport all my life and interested in organics and sustainabilities for many years, so decided to become a Woofer (Willing Worker On Organic Farms). I have thoroughly enjoyed all my placements in NZ, Australia, USA and Portugal. I have visited places and met people that I would never had the chance as a tourist and learnt about growing fruits, vegetables and raising animals in an totally organic and sustainable manner. I have looked after many animals and learnt how to give back to the land for future harvests. Six years ago in 2018 I bought a lifestyle property in the Far North, so have not been able to travel as much, or house sit as I used to, while working hard on my land. Now however I have more spare time, & look forward to being able to travel in NZ. I currently work on my orchard of 100+ trees of every description imaginable, & 4 large vegetable plots. I farm totally organically, eat in season, & am self sufficient(++) with fruit, vegetables & eggs from my 5 chickens. I am able to swap my excesses for milk, meat, cheese & bread! I feel very fortunate. I also have extra acreage which I use for growing grass, (local farmer makes hay in summer). I have also done two caminos (long walks) in both France, and Portugal into Spain. These were 750 and 700km respectively, in 2014 & 2017. My most recent was from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. I have been a proud homeowner since 1980. As a house sitter, you will have someone with old fashion values of care & respect for your property, a good work ethic, totally reliable & honest. As for pets, when my children were growing up, we had a Staffordshire bull terrier, rabbits, cats, cockatiel and baby goats. Currently I have 5 chickens. While woofing I have looked after lots of dogs, cats, goats (learnt to milk), chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, and loved all those times. My woofing hosts would sometimes leave me to house sit at weekends, or in one case, for 10 days when an unavoidable event happened. On that occasion I looked after a small farmlet of goats, cows chickens, vegetable garden, orchard....the entire property. I loved the challenge and was totally equal to the task of overall management. I love outdoors work. Obviously I enjoy walking, so dogs love me for their twice daily long walks. We are both writers, working in the tourism sector, and we met in beautiful Bali where we have been living since 1998 and 2006. We have travelled extensively in Indonesia, including trips to some of the country's remotest corners. We have been together for 15 years, we got married in New Zealand in 2021, and we are now living our dream dividing our time between Bali and New Zealand with a little bit of England and Europe thrown in along the way. We spend five months in Bali each year, one month in Europe and the UK, and six months in New Zealand from December to June. We invite guests to stay in our house in Bali and do home exchanges when we are in New Zealand and Europe, hence us looking for some more places to stay in New Zealand. We are both animal lovers, having rescued numerous cats and dogs off the streets in Bali over the many years that we have lived here. They all became much loved members of our respective households until our last cat and finally our last dog crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago. We miss them terribly but when we made the lifestyle change to divide our time between Bali and New Zealand, we made the decision not to get any more pets. However, our love and respect for animals has not diminished and that is why we look forward to looking after other people's pets. We both work from home so will be around nearly all day every day to give your animals all the love and attention they need. What you will get with us is two very caring, professional, respectful people who understand the need for absolute trust on both sides when looking after other people’s cherished homes and beloved pets. Both David and I grew up in cities, he in Illinois and me in Massachusetts. We met in the US Navy. David and I retired as Lieutenant Commanders from the United States Navy in 1994. Our duty stations have included Adak, Alaska; Norfolk, Virginia, Pensacola, Florida; and Honolulu, Hawaii. After retiring, I started and taught a Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Class at a Hawaii High School. We then moved to Billings, Montana, where we lived from 1996 to 2001. When our youngest of two children graduated from high school, we moved to rural Montana and built a log home, where we have lived since 2001. We have1 dog (miniature poodle), and numerous outdoor cats. I have also had birds (cockatiel, parakeet, finch & canary), guinea pigs and fish as pets. David also has a knowledge of beef cattle, goats, ducks, and chickens. My hobbies include vegetable gardening, bird watching, and needlework. David's main hobby is wood working. He works part time as a ranch hand and does odd jobs such as carpentry, plumbing and repairs. He has worked at farming for local ranches and has knowledge and can repair most farm machinery. We both spent 12 years as members of the local volunteer fire department, he as chief, and me as secretary treasurer. I also ran the weekly senior meal program in our small community for 17 years. Our son is a resident of New Zealand who met his New Zealand wife in Osan Korea. They live in Dunedin where he works at the University of Otago, and she is a teacher at a local school. This will be our fifth visit to New Zealand, and we have seen a lot of the country in the previous 3 visits. My sons' children are 20, 18, and 16. They live at the University. We would love to take care of your pets and home while you are away and while we are in NZ visiting my son and his family. We arrive the end of January 11, 2025 and will leave March 2, 2025. I would only house sit when I am on leave from work. This would mean I would not be leaving your pets alone for long hours. With more free time at our disposal house sitting becomes an attractive way to be useful to others as well as offering new experiences for us. We have travelled internationally for both business and family overseas, as well as extensively throughout New Zealand, and having lived long spells in Wellington, Auckland and now retired to Bay of Plenty. With the family overseas, often our time away has been for up to 3 months, and on those occasions we have had friends and others staying at our home. We know what it is like to make your home available to others who you are familiar with and some who you are not but still have that small apprehension about whether it will be ok. We know how you are feeling making this commitment. We have been long term dog and cat owners, and currently regularly play house parents to a friend's dog. Walking and appropriate exercise is not a problem. Other friends also call on us to house sit and mind their precious moggy, often for longer periods. With golf being a sport that we both enjoy, the opportunity to play courses in your region is an added appeal for house sitting. but also assures you that we are fit and able to walk as far as your pets need. Choosing us to look after your house and pets will give maximum assurance that all will be well cared for, and treated as if they were our own. Go on your holiday and relax and enjoy in the knowledge that everything at home is being well cared for. When we sit for you, your home and pets are our primary concern. We travel specifically for your sit, and make any of our other arrangements fit around the primary focus, which is you. We like to make plans in advance, often months ahead, we only travel by car not campervan, our planning giving you surety of a great sitter and also the knowledge that your sit is sorted. This allows you to focus on all the other good things about going on holiday, and us to sit for other owners as schedules allow.

We are a healthy and fit couple in our late 60s (non-smokers), originally from The Netherlands, who have sold our home last year. Currently we are waiting for our new apartment in Northcote (Auckland) to be completed (expected settlement early 2025) and looking after other people’s houses has proven to be a great way to bridge that period and to have a change of scenery after we’ve moved into our new apartment. We have quite a number very successful house sits already and loved the experience. We ran a Homestay/B&B in Wellington for more than 6 years, so we are experienced with looking after accommodation and we know the importance of keeping a house clean, tidy and well presented! We have always taken pride in our house, which was very obvious when the real estate agent who sold our current house remarked that she wished everybody’s house looked like this. Jos is retired, while Lucien still works full-time as a software developer from home, so at least one of us will always be there to keep your dog company. A fast and reliable internet connection is the only ‘must’. We have had dogs and cats ourselves - Golden Retrievers for many years, and a sweet little Cavoodle for the last 12 years (who sadly passed away last year) - and we have been looking after cats, dogs, houses and the occasional chicken for months now, so we know how to care for animals, and are happy to care for yours. Warm greetings, my name is Kirsty and I am wife to Richard and Mum to two lovely daughters who are 9 and 5. We are ex Aucklanders who moved to Wanganui in 2019. I am a full time Mum (with a background in Event Management), my husband owns his own building company. Our reasons for wanting to house sit are two fold. 1) For opportunities to stay in Auckland for longer term visits to see our family who we really miss and 2) We absolutely love exploring our beautiful country, but as living costs increase it's becoming harder and harder to have holidays away. We usually stay in air bnbs, but house sitting would help us out immensely. We are home owners in Wanganui and we have also extensively used air bnbs to take our girls on mini breaks away. All our reviews from staying in different homes have been A+. We also personally keep a very tidy, organised, clean home in Wanganui. Although we don't own a lot of pets (currently two cats), we love animals! We are very caring by nature and very frequently visit friends farms in Wanganui who have a wide range of pets/farm animals which our girls love to experience. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. Our girls are also very respectful and tidy and absolutely love nothing more than 'playing house' when we go on holiday. I believe this would be replicated if we were to house sit. Jerry and I are now retired after selling our very successful Takeaway business which we operated for the last 8 years. We have now reached the age where we wish to enjoy our retirement with traveling around NZ in our caravan and doing some house sitting. We own our own house in Auckland which has a lovely tenant and we wish to leave her in the property as she is very settled there. We have just had the most amazing house sit for 8 weeks looking after 7 kittens, 3 cats and 3 chickens. Very entertaining especially seeing the kittens growing from when they were only 3 days old when we arrived. Off now in our caravan for a month before our next house sit in july/Aug which just has one cat this time so should be a lot more peaceful and relaxing. Jerry and I are very reliable and honest people who keep grounds and homes in excellent condition. In July we are returning after 5 years working in Bangkok at an international school. Before we left NZ we sold our home and did 3 house sits before leaving the country. They all went very well. We often have to baby sit our furry grandchildren that is a Labradoodle called Whiskey and a Ragdoll cat called Willow. We realise that we will have to leave them home while we are on our adventure. We understand that the needs of dogs and cats are different but the common factor is love, attention and feeding. We are happy to take the animals for a walk when and as it is accustomed to as much as we are able too. We love wild birds and had a water bowl and feeding tray in the garden. Looked after a bunny and some hamsters of a neighbour. We are not scared of farm animals, have rented a property many years ago where we had to make sure there was water in the throughs and kept an eye on the animals in the paddocks surrounding our home. My children and I lived on a 10 acre block in Waimauku for several years and cared for a variety of animals including cats, dogs, hens, sheep, cows, and the occasional rabbit and duck! Because of Geoff's years spent at sea his opportunities to care for pets have been limited, but in his younger years his family owned cats, dogs and budgies. Geoff and I spend the summer months,October through to April, in New Zealand, which is when we are available for house sitting. We have a yacht berthed in Penang, Malaysia, and we are there during New Zealand's winter months. Geoff has spent nearly 13 years cruising in South East Asia, and I joined him in 2012. Geoff is a shipwright and is capable of servicing a wide range of appliances, machinery etc.He served in the New Zealand navy for 8 years and after leaving he worked as a commercial diver whilst building his first yacht. After sailing for many years in the Pacific, Australia, Africa and Europe, he settled in Brisbane, where he set up his shipwright business. He then built his second yacht and set sail for South East Asia. My previous working life involved a variety of positions, including working as a supervisor in a childcare centre in Waimauku, Auckland, and then as a sterile services technician at North Shore hospital in Auckland. I have two sons who live in the Netherlands and Belgium, and 1 grandson. Because of our lifestyle on the yacht we are organised and tidy in our habits. We enjoy exploring new environments, so house sitting promises to be a great way to meet new people, have some much-needed interaction with animals again, and reunite us with different parts of our country after being away for so many years. Hi My name is Susan. I am an Aucklander and I love to travel when I can. I grew up always having cats and dogs as part of the family. When I was married and we bought our first house, having pets was a top priority. After 3 years we had 3 cats (Tabby, Tina and Kate) and 2 Beagles (Tony and Lucy). I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. I no longer have pets of my own so I would really love the opportunity to care for yours, either outside of Auckland when I ready for a break or in Auckland for a 'staycation' I am mature, responsible, respectful and resourceful. We would like to have a holiday with the comforts of home including a pet to come home to. We have a Mini Schnauzer named Ollie who is 3 years old. We walk him daily on the beach or park and socialise him with other dogs as much as possible. My sister also has a Mini Schnauzer x Lowchen so they would dogsit for us while we are away. We love dogs and cats and would treat them like we do our own. Chris was brought up with cats and his family and a few friends own cats which we have fed and looked after while they have been away over the years. Recently my 15 coloured sheep and their new lambs have been sold. Caring for others (humans and animals) is what I do best.. Until his recent death I cared for my 86 yr old family friend who had health problems. This enabled him to remain living in his own home. I supported him with his pet dog care, shopping, finances, house work, gardening and companionship for the last 10 years on a regular basis. I’m a tidy, quiet, non drinker, non smoker vegan and very reliable. Hobbies are reading, walking, cycling, travel and gardening. Family is important to me so I like visiting my 4 siblings and my 4 children. I have my own car and drivers licence so should your pet become ill during your absence I can easily take them to your designated Vet for treatment. Aside from 15 years as a dairy farmer and 20 years as a landlord my working life has included responsible professional roles of legal secretary and banking consultant which are proof of my high degree of honesty, integrity and excellent communication. Kia ora, we are Rosie and Taz. We have lived in New Zealand since winter of 2022 and have been professionally housesitting for the last 18 months. Rosie's father is from NZ and Taz has extended family who emigrated here many years ago. We plan to make our long term home in New Zealand. We also have lots of experience housesitting for friends and family be it an overnight stay or multiple weeks of sitting. We started housesitting as an option from living and travelling in our van around NZ but now have our own home in rural Kerikeri. We see housesitting as a great opportunity to explore NZ further and make some lovely furry friends along the way! We both work within landscaping and gardening. Taz has also worked as a builder and enjoys working on small building projects. Rosie has a Fine Art degree which she now uses to help inform her practice which is based mostly in upcycling textile waste and other materials. Between us we have a combined 14 years of experience within Festivals and Events which we have started to transition out of now we have our own home. Needless to say it made us both adaptable and resilient! A calm and collected approach to all challenges was needed - we carry that energy with us in all that we do. We find bonding with animals is often very easy and natural. In our personal lives we have cared for many dogs and cats in houseshares in the UK (where we lived previously) including rescuing and raising a GSD mix at 9 months old (Hank) between 4 friends. Hank is now 10 and thriving! We understand housesit-ees with rescue pets may have more concerns due to their pets rescue 'quirks' but want them to know we are very familiar with this territory. Patience and consistency are so important and we are happy to take on the routines needed so your pet is at their best while you are gone. We are a couple in our late 20s and early 30s living in Wellington. We love housesitting because it combines two of the things we both really love; travelling and pets. Due to our current migratory situation we do not have pets and house sitting is a way we can enjoy the company of animals and explore new suburbs. We have both had dogs and cats in the past. Nachi has also volunteered with the SPCA where she looked after chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs amongst others. She also attended a farm school and has experience caring for farm animals. We believe that animals are part of the family and will go above and beyond to ensure they are well looked after and don't miss their human family too much while you are away. We have been housesitting since June 2021 and have become the biggest fans of it. We love being able to meet and spend time with many different fur-friends. My father and his ancestors came from the Isle of Mull, my mother’s from Northern Ireland. My accent is hard to place, as I have travelled extensively in my life and have had to learn to modify my accent over the years, to be comprehensible to others. I am a very friendly and gregarious soul, who loves the company of both people and animals. I have worked in mental health for over 30 years; initially, as a psychiatric nurse and later as a mental health clinician and therapist. I have also worked in performing arts for nearly as long, as a professional actor mainly. These days, I combine my love of theatre and education to teach others some successful strategies, to navigate the bumpy paths of life. I do a little bit of homeschool teaching and I am an instructor at the New Zealand Stage and Screen combat school in Birkenhead. I came back home to New Zealand in March 2020, after having lived back in the UK for a couple of years, looking after my father. I came back to Auckland for my son’s wedding and found myself marooned due to the Covid lockdown. My father died shortly after I arrived and therefore I have no need to go back in the UK. My life and living is very flexible as a single man of 54 years of age. I enjoy playing my ukulele and singing every day and have a successful Christmas business, portraying Father Christmas himself. I have had pets all my life, both cats and dogs, when living in my own property. Since being marooned here in 2020, I have missed them dearly. My recent sit, in Turiko, required care of chickens and lawns, both of which I tended with care. The chooks made interesting subjects to draw. As a sitter I live quietly. Because I love home Ill be at yours most of the time, popping out for the odd 4 hour work shift, shopping, walking, and meeting friends. If you have gardens Ill do a spot of weeding, am happy to mow lawns, and generally keep indoors and out neat and tidy. I walk most days and enjoy walking dogs, perferring smaller breds. I do prefer to look after cats as I work during the day (Please note: I do not work from home, I work as a temp) if you have a dog that can be left for the day that may work to. I love meeting new pets and especially love to catch up with wee friends I have cared for in the past. I absolutely adore cats and dogs, and have met some very interesting characters along the way! and I look forward to meeting many more. I grew up with a Cat and dog, and just love their company and playing with them, and don't mind at all if they snuggle up in bed. I'm also happy to administer medication and flea treatments etc. and take your wee friend to the vet if required. I can assure you that your house will be spotless on your return and I will treat it as if it were my own home, I'm quite the perfectionist. More than happy to water plants, garden etc. and really whatever else needs to be done, you only have to ask. My gardening experience is very limited & I don't mow lawns. Animals hold a special place in our hearts. Back in Hawaii, we shared our lives with dogs, rabbits, cats, chickens and pigs. We have cared for all different types of animals from llamas to tortoises, we have experience house and pet sitting for our family members and friends as well as woofing farms throughout NZ. Rest assured, your furry, feathered, or scaled babies will be cared for with lots of love and attention. We have cared for animals of all ages and types of conditions, we know that some pets have different needs and acquire more care. Kia ora :) Antoine is from France and Pauline from Belgium, we have been in New Zealand respectively 3 and 10 years. Pauline studies full time in auckland so is bound to the city during school term. Antoine remotely works for a company based in Dunedin. Antoine's flexibility for work means he can travel around a bit. We currently live in Warkworth. Depending on the place and time, we could both be house siting or just one of us, eg auckland only for Pauline during school term. Good morning/afternoon, I am a French 24-year-old guy, I was a civil engineer in France before coming to New Zealand - I arrived 3 months ago. I intend to visit the country from the end of February, and I am currently living in Wellington, where I currently work in security. I have been living in a proper flat with one kiwi flatmate for 2 months now. I want to visit New Zealand until mid-April, and then I will be looking for a job in Auckland. For my trip throughout New Zealand, I will be travelling with my French partner I have actually met here in Wellington. She is Audrey, a 26-year-old girl. She is really (really) kind, friendly but also serious and tidy. She speaks better English than I do, as she arrived in the country 10 months ago. Furthermore, she is very familiar with NZ culture, landscapes, fauna and flora as she has been planning this trip for 4 years. Her job is a freelance graphic designer, so she is used to remote working. She has been a house sitter several times. She has also done some couch-surfing many times with good reviews. We are both animal lovers. I have personally grown up with 2 cats at home, and I have always liked playing with my uncle's dogs. Audrey has grown up with an American Akita and also loves cats. Reasons for house sitting: - Currently residing with my parents to save for my first home. - I am quite sensitive to my environments - this means I need a tidy, clean, quiet space to meditate or practice yoga. - Travel is important to me, I like to explore new areas and communities even if it is just around the corner! This time last year I spent three months in a home with two goats, two horses, five chickens and a beautiful veggie patch. I have grown up with cats and chickens my whole life and lived on a farm the last 1.5yrs with five working dogs, cattle, at least twenty horses and of course ducks and chickens. I understand the responsibility it takes to look after animals and as much as I am there to feed and look after them, I love to be around them. I am a morning person and need to spend an hour at least outside before starting my day - yes especially in winter! In every home, I always enter with the care that it is my own. I had the opportunity over seas cleaning luxury homes and still have the pleasure of cleaning to this standard. How I take care of my home space is a reflection of how I take care of myself, as a house sitter I plan to look after the space as If I was never there and I am also a bit of an introvert, so the home is a space I can be on my own - of course, hopefully in the company of a pet. Over the last five or so years I also worked as a freelance decorator so I am handy around the house if needed. I work in the film industry. While this means long and intensive hours when films are shooting... The main reason being that we are animal lovers and Lesley especially is feeling pet deprived at the moment since having to put down our most adored cat Ginger 18 months ago. Kia Ora! We’re Emma and Elias, twins on tour through New Zealand with a working holiday visa, eager to explore the country and its people. Whilst looking for an accommodation we’ve stumbled upon house/pet sitting, which seemed perfect to us both. Both of us adore pets and animals in general and even though we only have fish at home;), both of us have plenty of experience, especially with dogs. I, Emma, did a school exchange in 2020 and lived in a family with 3 dogs (a husky and 2 adopted strays). I took care of them every day of the year, taking all three of them on long walks through the beautiful nature of Andalusia and still, almost three years later, I miss them dearly. I also made a habit out of going to the local Dog-Rescue-Center, taking little pups without a home on walks along the beach. I, Elias, have a close friend with 3 young australian shepherds. Back in Germany I joined them for a walk every day over the last year and cared for them whenever the family was away. I’ve helped educating them since the age of 12 weeks and went through all stages of adolescence with the little rascals. All three of them have a special place in my heart and they will be my first stop when this travel experience comes to an end. Even though both of us have more experience taking care of dogs, we have helped friends and family with cats whenever we had the chance to. If you choose us as sitters you can expect two young, responsible adults to take care of both your home and your animal/s with lots of love and passion. Both non smokers, enjoy clean living with clean criminal international and local records. We met in Malaysia while working as volunteers with cats and dogs for SPCA in early 2015. After that we did a period of volunteers with tigers in Thailand. Highlight of our lives. Great experience to be so close and intimate with a wild animals. Few scars but lived to tell all the tales. After we worked with them, cats and dogs are so easy. Next, hoping to spend some time with elephants. We have done home sitting in NZ as well as offshore in Europe and China as well as a 4 week stay in Malaysia. Although we like to travel, live clean and appreciate clean houses so your home will be looked after. Although not fantastic green fingers, we will happily mow your grass and pull a few weeds as required. As we both still work part time, appreciate wi-fi so we can still receive emails etc. Sky is not important cause we rather be outside enjoying open air as against watching TV. Also since 2017, a volunteer firefighter originally with Otorohanga but would consider helping any local volunteer brigade. Rem has in the past also looked after NZ Police dogs while their handler has gone on holiday so the average dog should be relatively easy. Happy to walk the dogs and where possible, take them to the beach if possible. Hopefully have secure parking for the BMW as well? Since Feb 2017 we have lived in Otorohanga and have looked after various local and surrounding properties. A 550 acre grazing farm and a very upmarket lifestyle house. Although it’s been fun here, we are ready for another area from now on. Long term housesits preferred but will consider short options as well. Yuling now lives in Wellington full time while Rem commutes.

Now in 2024 we are available for longer-term sits again while our home undergoes renovations. We are excited to especially to enjoy some time with pets and explore some new places again. We missed it! We are clean and tidy - Jamie finds cleaning his relaxing happy place - and quiet sorts that like a good book in the evening. Holly has green thumbs and is more than happy to look after any veggie patch or compost heap needing some care. For the pet parents: we are animal lovers. We grew up with pets and can provide references from the home and pet owners we've helped. We are no stranger to dogs and cats needing a bit of extra care, special diets, or who are a bit older. We are more than happy to take a slower walk and pop some arthritis medicine in food if needed! We have cared for all personalities, from super shy kitties like (recently rescued) Archie (1) and Nemo (4), to big attitude, feline fluff balls like Oscar (10) and Early (10) and older chill cats like Mishka (24). When it comes to pups we have cared for every shape and size from the big boys and girls - Suzie (9 year old Greyhound-Huntaway Cross), Ngaio (12 year old Labrador), Fergie (12 year old German Shepard) and Lila and Otis (15 year old Boxers) - to smaller pups like Lochie (2 year old Schnauzer-Welsh Terrier), Teddy (16 year old Shih Tzu) and big energy, little puppy Moss (under 1 Australian Terrier) who we cared for a lot throughout 2023. We don't have much experience beyond cats, dogs and chickens (have owned and looked after these too) but are happy to get to know your llamas or other exciting furry family members. Jamie is an ex-lawyer, now working as a senior policy advisor in government and Holly is the sustainability manager for a large corporate in the construction sector. I, Caroline Mundy, is a recently retired Civil/Structural engineer. I was born and raised in Malaysia, but went to Britain for my tertiary studies. I graduated from Cardiff University with an honours degree in Civil and Structural Engineering and later gained a Masters degree in the same subject at Sheffield University. I am married to Chris Mundy, an editor at NZQA, Wellington. Chris and I grew up with pets in our families, and from this we gained a life-long love of animals. Over the years, we have had many different animals as pets, including a sheep which eventually died of old age!, a golden retriever, a duckling, rabbits, a weta and doves, all of which were much loved by us and our two children. We also adopted the school's cockatoo and axolotl during school holidays. We took our friend's cat to be with our family whilst they worked overseas. Sadly, our adorable all white cat named Pearl has passed away and we no longer have any pets. So, it would be really lovely to be able to look after someone else's pets. As we no longer have children living with us, we have more freedom to explore and travel to new places, which we both love doing. It also enables us to take a break from our rather busy lives by housesitting every now and then. Having pets with our accommodation is an added bonus to us. I am now working on a NZ Government (MFAT) international aid & development programme since November 2020 that covers 12 countries across the Pacific. I lived & travelled overseas for almost 20 years & returned to NZ in mid 2020 during the midst of Covid & am now double vaccinated & double boosted as well. We have a flexible timeline and a vehicle. ...a little about us. I am a NZ'er and a retired educator. Peter is canadian and a retired computer engineer. Our home base is on a small island in western Canada. We are homeowners and fully understand the housesitting social contract and responsibilities. We currently have trustworthy housesitters in our home while we are away. Peter and I, make a great housesitting team. I take the lead with the animal and home care, Peter supports me by playing with the pets and cuddle time. He also leads our dog walking explorations into nature. As our three children grew, our home was full of much loved animals. We had two family cats and two family dogs. Oliver, the cat was much loved in the neighbourhood. During the day he would sit by the gate, greet people, and beg for a pat. During the evening, when he was not snuggled up next to the dog, or swatting her tail, he would find a lap and stay there purring. He stayed in our family for 20 years. Lassie, a border collie/lab/husky cross is perhaps the most acclaimed of all our family pets. Our children still talk of her with great love. We adopted her when she was two years old. She 'heeled' with the click of a finger and kept guard over our children when they were young. She was the most amazing and lovable dog - her photo has an honoured place in our home. In the past, we have cared for cats, dogs, sheep, pigs, bees, chickens, ducks, fischers parrot, rabbits, and hamsters. The key in caring for pets is to have established expectations: food and exercise routines/cuddle times and ensure that animals have ample fresh water everyday. We love all animals and plants and can turn my hand to most tasks involved in caring for them. Also, I might add that I enjoy exploring regenerative agriculture concepts. I am a founding director of School Orchards Africa Society, in Tanzania. Having built our home and hobby farm, Peter is familiar with most house systems, on and off grid. He is a good guitar player. Since returning to NZ our speciality has certainly been rural lifestyle blocks as we love the peace and quiet of the countryside and exploring nature. We're extremely well organised, tidy, honest, flexible and caring. You can expect to return to your home as clean as you left it, if not cleaner, and with very happy pets. We've never pulled out of a sit as we're extremely reliable and the last thing we'd want is for you to have an issue because of us before you go on holiday. Experienced in garden and lawn care, spa and pool maintenance, rain and bore water tank system monitoring, ant prevention and setting pest control traps. As previous homeowners, we have enough common sense to know when to tackle any maintenance issues which may arise and when to request advice. We're also happy to do turnover service if you operate an active Air BnB on your property. We'll require a reliable unlimited internet connection (as we work remotely) and off street parking for our car. As non-smokers we're not interested in any sits where you normally smoke/vape indoors.

Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to read our profile. Our names are Charlotte (Lottie) Jepson and James O'Hern, we're both 30 years old and originally from the UK. We've been in New Zealand for over 3 years and we're looking to make this wonderful country our home. We've fallen in love with the place and see ourselves living here long term. The reason for house sitting at the moment is because we've been travelling regularly between the UK and NZ in the last 12 months. Due to the shorter stints in NZ, usually 8-12 weeks at a time, getting a lease on a house for short periods is challenging and we'd prefer to spend time with friends, camping or housesitting which offers more variety and flexibility for us. Our interests are hiking, camping, cycling, surfing, reading, cooking and travelling overseas - almost anything outdoorsy. Between us we've had a several pets of our own, completed a number of housesits, and regularly look after relatives pets, so we have a lot of experience looking after animals and making sure they're well fed, cleaned, walked, loved and rested - plus we all keep each other company which is just as important. We're both able to work remotely, so we're always able to stay at home for long periods of the day to look after pets. If you choose us to look after your pet(s) and home, they will be in safe hands.
