I’m a retired pet lover but because I often go to Auckland to visit family I can’t have a pet of my own. Because I am often in Auckland I could possibly be available for in person interviews for Auckland sits. I grew up in Auckland but have lived in Opotiki for 18 years and love it here. I don’t live in the township but in the very small beach suburb of Tirohanga, only one house back from the beach. There are 30 houses/baches and about half of them are holiday homes. Of the other half at least 40% are occupied by retired people. Lots of them have pets and I fill my animal craving by frequently visiting them. I’m even lucky enough to have a nearly daily visit from my neighbours cat, “Smoke” I can’t see the beach but at night I can hear the waves crashing. I’m physically fit and as I live near a beautiful beach I walk on the beach or cycle track daily. I do 20 to 40 minutes with the occasional 60 minutes thrown in for good luck. I love to read and play board or card games, especially word games. I’m enjoying my retirement but feel like I need to stretch myself a little and house sitting will do that. I’m a gregarious but also very happy with my own company as long as I have a book to read! I’m definitely conscious and reliable as my references will concur. We are a healthy and fit couple in our late 60s (non-smokers), originally from The Netherlands, who have sold our home last year. Currently we are waiting for our new apartment in Northcote (Auckland) to be completed (expected settlement early 2025) and looking after other people’s houses has proven to be a great way to bridge that period and to have a change of scenery after we’ve moved into our new apartment. We have quite a number very successful house sits already and loved the experience. We ran a Homestay/B&B in Wellington for more than 6 years, so we are experienced with looking after accommodation and we know the importance of keeping a house clean, tidy and well presented! We have always taken pride in our house, which was very obvious when the real estate agent who sold our current house remarked that she wished everybody’s house looked like this. Jos is retired, while Lucien still works full-time as a software developer from home, so at least one of us will always be there to keep your dog company. A fast and reliable internet connection is the only ‘must’. We have had dogs and cats ourselves - Golden Retrievers for many years, and a sweet little Cavoodle for the last 12 years (who sadly passed away last year) - and we have been looking after cats, dogs, houses and the occasional chicken for months now, so we know how to care for animals, and are happy to care for yours. When you select us as your house sitters you can expect that we treat your house, belongings and pets as if hey are our own, with care, dignity and respect.

Hi, I am an empty nester, and would love an opportunity to house sit and look after pets. I have raised three children and over the years I have had and have cared for numerous pets. Growing up, my family had a Samoyed dog and two cats. My father was also the local dog walker and I often walked the dogs as well. When I was a stay at home mum,I developed a reputation for being a foster mother for many animals. I have adopted bunnies, guinea pigs and 8 hens from friends who could no longer care for their animals. On top of this, I transformed our 1/4 acre section into a stunning garden and started a tutoring business. When friends went away,I would care for their animals either at their homes or at my home. Once I looked after a rabbit that needed daily injections for eight weeks . Currently, I am a house owner and I have a rental property in Auckland.I also teach full-time at a girls school and am responsible for the learning support department. With the goal of one day retiring outside of Auckland I would love an opportunity to look after someone else’s home and animals and explore other parts of the country. I am in my happy place with animals and nature and I am very fit, energetic and reliable. I enjoy road cycling, walking, yoga and swimming. My day typically starts at 5.30 am with a walk before work and finishes with another walk and sometimes yoga. At weekends, I cycle regularly 50 -70 kms for leisure. Shortly my lifestyle block and 15 coloured sheep and their new lambs will be sold. Caring for others (humans and animals) is what I do best.. Currently I am caring for my 86 yr old family friend to enable him to remain living in his own home. Hi! Exciting times for me. I have recently retired from a busy career, and have just moved from Auckland. Contacts from friends has seen me recently complete two housesits of 2 weeks, and 3 weeks duration in Hawkes Bay. One with a dog, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs, 3 chooks, a rabbit and some fish; the other with a dog and a cat. Over the years I have been a house sitter, a home owner, and a renter. I am used to moving around as my career has seen me change location a number of times, as well as regular travel and overnight stays. I’m pet free at the moment. My job necessitated regular travel, meaning I couldn’t give the required care and attention to a pet. As a child we had a very much loved family cat. When I had my children we had 2 cats from kittens and they completed our household with their crazy antics. My experience with dogs has been with a farm dog early in marriage, and later with an adult golden Labrador who was great with the kids and an easy care dog. There has since been a gap. My brother in the Bay has a staffie, and I will be housesitting and caring for him for 4 days in April. Approximately 20 years ago I housesat over a year, mainly in Gisborne. One housesit was for 3 months overseeing a home that was on the market, keeping it viewing ready. I also for 4 years looked after a large home each Christmas which one year included feeding aviary pigeons. I’ve also in the Bay looked after a mother cat and kittens for 2 weeks. I will treat your home carefully. Love to look after cats and open to well behaved dogs. I can also care for chooks as often feed and collect eggs on my sons farm. My hobbies include casual walking and exploring new places. I’ve been a keen gardener in the past so am happy to water gardens and look after pots. We are Taz and Rosie, we have been living in New Zealand since July 2022. Rosie is an NZ citizen and Taz is here on a partnership visa. We work in the summer on festivals and events in management roles for glamping companies and in the off season we have been working as landscapers/gardeners with Taz doing some building work also. We travel in our campervan to jobs over the summer so housesitting would be ideal for us to see more new places in New Zealand or to take some more relaxed days between jobs. Taz has had family dogs at home his whole life and studied Animal Management at college. He has cared for dogs, cats, reptiles; lizards including large lizards like bosc monitors, some snake experience, rats, hamsters and chickens. Taz rescued a dog in the UK in 2014 and raised him with friends who he lives with now. Rosie has had cats as family pets her whole life as well as small tropical fish. I have cared for dogs of friends/family over the last 10 years including becoming a main guardian for Tazs dog after we met in 2020. Other family pets have been horses and pigs which I have some experience providing care for. With the right instruction ahead of time we are comfortable with almost any animal! We have both house sat previously for friends/whanau in the UK & New Zealand.This has covered stays of 2 days to 3 weeks with care for dogs with a range of needs (nervous dogs, walking routines etc). A homeowner can expect that we are a clean, tidy and responsible couple. We love animals and would be more than happy to have a routine during our stay that supports their wellbeing, be it extra fusses or walks! We also understand that there is a lot of trust allowing someone to stay in your home space and would treat your home with the utmost respect.

We have lots of experience with animals and housesitting. - Millie loves any kind of animal, but her favourite are dogs, cats and horses. We have looked after all kinds of dogs, cats, pony's and chooks too. Each house sit has been amazing, with very cute and loveable animals. We often house sit for friends and I have many clients I return to regularly. I have also been a member of another site for many years. Millie and I take great care of the animals and Millie loves to give them lots of cuddles if willing. I love to walk. I have sold my home and currently renovatng another - it's a big job, so taking a bit of time. Housesitting fits in well with this for now. I am a mature single lady. I originally signed up for house sitting when I was going to be in between houses last year. Since then I decided it would be a good thing to do periodically. I would only house sit when I am on leave from work. This would mean I would not be leaving your pets alone for long hours. Last Christmas I house sat and looked after a Bernese Mountain Dog and a cat. If you decide to have me house sit for you, you can expect your home and pet(s) to be well looked after. We are an engaged couple with plans to achieve our future goals of getting married, travelling oversees for the honeymoon and buying a house. House sitting is ideal for our lifestyle as we enjoy spending time at home, watering the pot plants and we love animals. We do not have any children as yet, therefore, this method of growing our savings bucket seems timely for us right now. We have moved into my partners home with the plan to house sit often to get out the house and enjoy living around Wellington. Warm greetings, my name is Kirsty and I am wife to Richard and Mum to two lovely daughters who are 9 and 5. We are ex Aucklanders who moved to Wanganui in 2019. I am a full time Mum (with a background in Event Management), my husband owns his own building company. We are a Christian family who love music, theatre, nature/outdoors, singing, reading, animals and travelling. Our reasons for wanting to house sit are two fold. 1) For opportunities to stay in Auckland for longer term visits to see our family who we really miss and 2) We absolutely love exploring our beautiful country, but as living costs increase it's becoming harder and harder to have holidays away. We usually stay in air bnbs, but house sitting would help us out immensely. We are home owners in Wanganui and we have also extensively used air bnbs to take our girls on mini breaks away. All our reviews from staying in different homes have been A+. We also personally keep a very tidy, organised, clean home in Wanganui. Although we don't own a lot of pets (currently two cats), we love animals! We are very caring by nature and very frequently visit friends farms in Wanganui who have a wide range of pets/farm animals which our girls love to experience. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. Our girls are also very respectful and tidy and absolutely love nothing more than 'playing house' when we go on holiday. I believe this would be replicated if we were to house sit. I am a 77 year old ex-South African. Retired but still doing some consulting, remotely. Full driver's licence. I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. We are a couple in our late 20s and early 30s living in Wellington. We love housesitting because it combines two of the things we both really love; travelling and pets. Due to our current migratory situation we do not have pets and house sitting is a way we can enjoy the company of animals and explore new suburbs. We have both had dogs and cats in the past. Nachi has also volunteered with the SPCA where she looked after chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs amongst others. She also attended a farm school and has experience caring for farm animals. We believe that animals are part of the family and will go above and beyond to ensure they are well looked after and don't miss their human family too much while you are away. We have been housesitting since June 2021 and have become the biggest fans of it. We love being able to meet and spend time with many different fur-friends. Our days just wouldn't be fulfilled without some fur-company. We simply are animal people who love the opportunity to care for them while their family is away. We have excellent reviews from anther site that we use for house sitting and on AirBnB that we are really happy to share with you.

Life is one big adventure! I like to be kept busy; I love to travel, discovering out of the way places, meeting new people & embracing life. But my family pets have always been a top priority. House sitting offers some exciting opportunities, but more specifically it will provide me with the pleasures of 'adopting' your family pets, if only for a short time. (And, I certainly miss not having my own pet to care for). There has always been a cat or dog (or both) in the house and then there have been the children's tropical fish, German rat, guinea pigs, rabbits, and birds! We've even had a couple of cats 'adopt' us! I also volunteered for 18 months at a bird rescue centre a few years ago which was a very rewarding experience. From a young age until her early 20s, I also used to spend a lot of time at my aunt & uncles farm where they had a dairy herd, goats and a chicken run. Animals have always featured in my life. I have been fortunate to have had some wonderful House & pet sitting opportunities over the past 3 years (with a global house sitting company) looking after dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and birds - most of these sits were while I was based in the UK. I'm now cutting back on my time away from NZ and, after hearing very positive comments about The Housesitting Company, have decided to join so that I can focus more on NZ sits. I'd be delighted to look after and love your family pets and I will take excellent care of your home. We are the lucky ones. We get to travel, explore new places, meet new people and look after your pets. My husband Steve and I have 4 grown up daughters, and 3 delightful grandchildren. We have worked hard in our lives, and our time to explore, travel and see our beautiful country is now. We have both been brought up on Dairy and Sheep/Beef farms. We have a small lifestyle block (12 acres) near Taupo where one of our adult children lives. We are very experienced with animals and currently have on our farm, horses, cows, a dog, chickens and a couple of cats. We have previously had beef steers and sheep, including lambing. We have a deep love of animals and both Steve and I are active relaxers, which means your dogs will get loads of walking, activities and cuddles while you are away. We are confident with large animals and will not hesitate to phone a vet in any circumstance. We will love and care for your animals (slightly obsessed with them), so you can go and enjoy travelling of your own.

Hi There, We love looking after pets of all shapes & sizes and have been doing so house sitting full time since February 2018. Having grown up in both urban & rural environments we are constantly asked to look after peoples pets & homes and if it wasn't for the need for us to relocate up to Auckland we would certainly be settled with some pets of our own. We moved up to Auckland to pursue some career opportunities which came up somewhat out of the blue and hence we have decided to make the move with only our suitcases to our name and house sitting enables us to save some money on rent and have fun looking after some wonderful animals. We have been together for over 10 years, originally from being swept up in the Rugby World Cup spirit in 2011, before following the All Blacks to England & Japan in 2015 / 2019, and we now have our eyes set on heading to France in the 2023 Rugby World Cup - hence our need to save our pennies! Hello my name is Dave! I am a very healthy and fit retired builder/joiner. For 30 years I ran my own building and joinery company. I have been living in Australia and have recently returned as the heat was too much for me! My lovely wife passed away a few years ago after 47 years of marriage. As I am on my own I feel housesitting would be a wonderful way for me to meet new people and see a little bit of New Zealand. Most of my sits have been one month plus, but I've also done sits of just a handful of nights. I'm an equal dog and cat lover, and am ready to shower your pet with affection (unless that's not their thing, of course!). I'm also big on daily walks – any dog I look after will definitely not go short on exercise. While you're away I'll keep you informed about your pet's welfare, and will always treat your home as if it were my own, including cleaning, plant care, and allowing access for any necessary maintenance you may have arranged. I am a young and active senior who retired at Christmas 2021, I had worked with Ontario's largest Children's Mental Health Agency for 18 years. I am a non smoker and tea total (well coffee addict). I arrived in back NZ early 2022 after spending 19 years in Canada. My husband passed away in 2021. Quite the battle to get into MIQ to return home, with the lotto draw they installed !!! I am currently living with my son and daughter in law, and it would be nice to spend time away on the odd occasion. I house sat before leaving for Canada in Omokoroa and Mount Maunganui. One was an Avocado Orchard and they had 70 Parrots in aviaries on the property, such fun. I have been the proud owner of 5 rescue Old English Sheepdogs.. not all at the same time !!!! so I know about grooming. My last dog Boomer was 116lbs, (52.5kg) a big strong boy and the light of our lives. In 2020 we started to foster dogs brought up from Texas from the "high kill" pounds. Copper was our first, A Walker Coon Hound... never heard of them before and what a delight with his howl. I will leave your home as you left it though I do enjoy gardening and cleaning windows... We are both responsible and respectful and look forward to meeting and looking after your beloved pets while you are on holiday . Over the last 6 yrs we have looked after dogs, cats and chickens and as we are active enjoy the exercise for us and the animals. As we now have a lot of time on our hands, we thought this is a great way to see our beautiful country. I am a professional employee with a leading NZ fund manager who deals with private clients, and I now live in Hawkes Bay after living in Auckland for over 20 years, so I am familiar with the city. I also work from Wellington at times where I rent a property for which I pay an extremely reasonable rent largely because I'm a very good careful tenant. I am married with 3 children but when coming to Auckland I travel with my twin boys aged 11. I am house proud, the owner of a villa with a pool and my boys respect other people's property and are very much "look but don't touch". I have no hesitation or worries about them respecting other people's property. I prefer staying in a home as opposed to somewhere like a motel as I prefer peace and quiet. Last year we stayed in someone's home with 2 cats and fish. I have lived in a home with dogs and cats at various stages and was brought up on a farm so enjoy animals and don't mind walking the dog or whatever has to be done. I think I'm very responsible, treating other people's homes as I treat my own home. I was brought up that way so it's just normal behaviour. I'm observant and notice things easily. If AKL has torrential rain check windows, drains and for any leaks etc. Don't leave the house with windows open, bring in rubbish bins, water plants if that needs doing, take your shoes off. After attending to the house and any chores we normally go out and return later to have diner and then the boys are on their iPads. We have a relaxing time and enjoy being together. We don't usually entertain guests when house sitting as we go out visiting family and friends. I'm careful in the kitchen, not accident prone and don't have difficulty following any instructions. I don't smoke or partake in drugs and drink very little. Most of my time is taken up with the children and all their activities, work and maintaining the house and garden. Outside of that I like all types of music, history, movies and of course the iPad!

We LOVE pets, are extremely tidy, clean and respectful. Marlo is very cute and a good boy. I'd say we are kind, friendly and chill - early nights / cooking / baking / reading / and playing at the playground are what we love to do. We’re currently residing in my dads basement, so we can come and house sit at the drop of a hat. Long term would be preferred. As long as there is fast internet, heating, in a safe area, a secure carpark and TV we are good! We are a semi-retired couple who have lived with and cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, ducks, chooks, goats, sheep, and horses. We are fit, active, resourceful and capable individuals, and 'mature' enough to have experienced just about everything life could throw at you. We are a reliable, honest, caring couple who are young enough to cope with most pet care and home care situations, but mature enough to be settled, secure and wise house sitters. We care for the homes and pets like they were ours. We have been housesitting for about 5 years ( with another housesitting site) and have used the time to visit family, see other parts of the country, become more flexible and meet some really lovely pets and their owners. We have been rated highly with each sit we have had and had many repeat offers to housesit. We have sold our house in the North island and are relocating to Kaiapoi at the end of September. We would love to sit in the Canterbury region between 6 August and 25 September (currently working through 3 housesits in Wellington - one is the third time we have sat for them.). We are a very caring, loving and responsible pair with pets and homes alike. We follow the owners guidelines for the pets comfort and routine. We walk dogs as often as their owners request and will care for their animals in the best way we can. We leave the home exactly as we find it, if not better. We have owned a dog and two cats. I have been living in a proper flat with one kiwi flatmate for 2 months now. I want to visit New Zealand until mid-April, and then I will be looking for a job in Auckland. For my trip throughout New Zealand, I will be travelling with my French partner I have actually met here in Wellington. She is Audrey, a 26-year-old girl. She is really (really) kind, friendly but also serious and tidy. She speaks better English than I do, as she arrived in the country 10 months ago. Furthermore, she is very familiar with NZ culture, landscapes, fauna and flora as she has been planning this trip for 4 years. Her job is a freelance graphic designer, so she is used to remote working. She has been a house sitter several times. She has also done some couch-surfing many times with good reviews. We are retired and are fit and young at heart. We have been house sitting for the last three years, both in New Zealand and Australia. We are super tidy, especially my wife! and we love pets. Until we traveled abroad for career purposes, we always had pets and dog for the family. When the children were little we had a pooch, black and fluffy for about 14 years, growing up they had the company of a black Labrador. Coming to Fiji we looked after our friends dog for 2 years, a large doberman, one that would lick you to death! And just lately again to help out friends going overseas for 12 months a beautiful German Sheppard and the cat, both couldn't live without the other, and together they provided most of the entertainment! I love walking, and it just isn't the same without a best friend. We know pets love routine, and we will enjoy to fit in with your regular way of looking after them. We are used to having pets, enjoy spending time with pets, and understand their needs of companionship. We have six children, all grown up with their own family. Having had a significant overseas and New Zealand based career, we have had the benefit of high end company homes to live in. References on how we looked after these homes are readily available. Hi, I love living with animals, and really miss not having been able to care for one of my own, be it a cat or a dog, due to my living situation and lifestyle. I'm pretty active, enjoying tramping, running, cycling and going to the gym. Reading, drawing and meditation are also important for me. I've started my first garden in decades - pretty exciting. I don't smoke. I work part time online, and study Te Reo Maori. I spend a lot of time at home and have a flexible lifestyle. House sitting offers the chance to catch up with friends and activities in other regions. It's also a good opportunity to have some 'quiet' time for study, as I live in a house with other people. At the moment our 2 children in their twenties are in the UK. Circumstances make it necessary for us to return to the UK from May 23rd to September 12th so we will be unavailable during that period. We are pretty much home birds and are very happy to chill and read or make friends with your lovely pets. We have house sat before for a variety of pets - cats, chickens, fish, dogs - and very much enjoyed this. The main reason being that we are animal lovers and Lesley especially is feeling pet deprived at the moment since having to put down our most adored cat Ginger 18 months ago. We have taken the decision not to replace him at for the moment so she has become that annoying person that has to pet everybody's dog on the beach and talk to every cat in the street! From May to August 2023 I was in Australia house sitting for my son and his wife while they toured Europe. They have an adorable fluffy black and white cat which I had great pleasure in looking after while they were away. I have enjoyed the company of animals most of my life, mainly cats. Kia Ora! We’re Emma and Elias, twins on tour through New Zealand with a working holiday visa, eager to explore the country and its people. Whilst looking for an accommodation we’ve stumbled upon house/pet sitting, which seemed perfect to us both. Both of us adore pets and animals in general and even though we only have fish at home;), both of us have plenty of experience, especially with dogs. I, Emma, did a school exchange in 2020 and lived in a family with 3 dogs (a husky and 2 adopted strays). I took care of them every day of the year, taking all three of them on long walks through the beautiful nature of Andalusia and still, almost three years later, I miss them dearly. I also made a habit out of going to the local Dog-Rescue-Center, taking little pups without a home on walks along the beach. I, Elias, have a close friend with 3 young australian shepherds. Back in Germany I joined them for a walk every day over the last year and cared for them whenever the family was away. I’ve helped educating them since the age of 12 weeks and went through all stages of adolescence with the little rascals. All three of them have a special place in my heart and they will be my first stop when this travel experience comes to an end. Even though both of us have more experience taking care of dogs, we have helped friends and family with cats whenever we had the chance to. If you choose us as sitters you can expect two young, responsible adults to take care of both your home and your animal/s with lots of love and passion. Retirees available to care for your home and pets anywhere in New Zealand as their own. We have always had pets mainly cats, dogs and a few chooks in our lives from childhood. Since marriage we have always owned cats and dogs, firstly Asti and Loti, two Burmese cats, then a tabby rescue cat who was very shy but she loved our Black Lab Joey, they were great mates. After both passed away our younger son came home with Lucy a rescue dog who was found in a cat cage in a wardrobe. Lucy can home dressed in dolls cloths and was so small she could sit on my knees. We tried to socialise her with other dogs without success but Lucy was a faithful companion who we walked at night to give her the space she needed to not become stressed around other dogs. Our children have their own families and our sons both have dogs, Ash, a Staffy and Poppy, a Labradoodle, totally different dogs. Ash is always so excited to see us and has to receive a cuddly and then settles down whereas Poppy is more laid back, come to see us but not as excited. We are living with Poppy at the moment and walk her most days. Our daughter has a Burmese cat who always sits on Janice knee at night, but she does the sitting, if you pick her up she takes a while to settle. I have two friends one with an old LabX Sammie and the other a Border Collie, Lockie who we both have a lot of contact with. Sammie, we have looked after at both his home and ours many times. In our professional life, Brian was an ideals person designing many electronics products, and I was the administration and finance person for companies we owned over our working life. We raised three children and have 5 grandchildren living in Auckland and Wellington. Our home is in Auckland but we spend a lot of time between both cities. We are always on the go, helping in the community, renovating family homes, out tramping, yachting, cycling, skiing, travelling and spending time with our grandchildren. Brian can turn his hand to most things in the home and garden but does know his limits and will call in professionals if need be. I am a cook, cleaner and gardener who loves to talk to humans and animals. Both non smokers, enjoy clean living with clean criminal international and local records. We met in Malaysia while working as volunteers with cats and dogs for SPCA in early 2015. After that we did a period of volunteers with tigers in Thailand. Highlight of our lives. Great experience to be so close and intimate with a wild animals. Few scars but lived to tell all the tales. After we worked with them, cats and dogs are so easy. Next, hoping to spend some time with elephants. We have done home sitting in NZ as well as offshore in Europe and China as well as a 4 week stay in Malaysia. Although we like to travel, live clean and appreciate clean houses so your home will be looked after. Although not fantastic green fingers, we will happily mow your grass and pull a few weeds as required. As we both still work part time, appreciate wi-fi so we can still receive emails etc. Sky is not important cause we rather be outside enjoying open air as against watching TV. Also since 2017, a volunteer firefighter originally with Otorohanga but would consider helping any local volunteer brigade. Rem has in the past also looked after NZ Police dogs while their handler has gone on holiday so the average dog should be relatively easy. Happy to walk the dogs and where possible, take them to the beach if possible. Hopefully have secure parking for the BMW as well? Since Feb 2017 we have lived in Otorohanga and have looked after various local and surrounding properties. A 550 acre grazing farm and a very upmarket lifestyle house. Although it’s been fun here, we are ready for another area from now on. Long term housesits preferred but will consider short options as well. Yuling now lives in Wellington full time while Rem commutes.

When I was married and we bought our first house, having pets was a top priority. After 3 years we had 3 cats (Tabby, Tina and Kate) and 2 Beagles (Tony and Lucy). I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. I no longer have pets of my own so I would really love the opportunity to care for yours, either outside of Auckland when I ready for a break or in Auckland for a 'staycation' I am mature, responsible, respectful and resourceful. After our last elderly dog passed away 5 years ago, we really missed having a dog in our home, so became approved volunteer puppy boarders for Blind/Low Vision puppies, and are still enjoying providing this service. Allan's parents were dairy farmers, and he loved farm life. He is an enthusiastic golfer and gardener, a Justice of the Peace, and volunteers for the Papamoa Community patrol. Jenny is also a keen gardener, enjoys both an exercise/social group and a craft group, volunteers regularly at Good Neighbour Food Rescue, and loves being involved with a Music and Movement group for preschoolers and their Mums. We both belong to Probus, and are also rostered on for several roles at our church. As we have friends and family in Christchurch and various parts of the North Island, we are excited about the prospect of house sitting when we travel to those areas, as well as when we explore new areas that we haven't yet been to. I, Caroline Mundy, is a recently retired Civil/Structural engineer. I was born and raised in Malaysia, but went to Britain for my tertiary studies. I graduated from Cardiff University with an honours degree in Civil and Structural Engineering and later gained a Masters degree in the same subject at Sheffield University. I am married to Chris Mundy, an editor at NZQA, Wellington. Chris and I grew up with pets in our families, and from this we gained a life-long love of animals. Over the years, we have had many different animals as pets, including a sheep which eventually died of old age!, a golden retriever, a duckling, rabbits, a weta and doves, all of which were much loved by us and our two children. We also adopted the school's cockatoo and axolotl during school holidays. We took our friend's cat to be with our family whilst they worked overseas. Sadly, our adorable all white cat named Pearl has passed away and we no longer have any pets. So, it would be really lovely to be able to look after someone else's pets. As we no longer have children living with us, we have more freedom to explore and travel to new places, which we both love doing. It also enables us to take a break from our rather busy lives by housesitting every now and then. Having pets with our accommodation is an added bonus to us. Their 'babies' were well loved & looked after. Mick is a keen diver and loves to get out in the garden, Tracey used to be a professional cleaner so keeping a home sparkling clean is my thing - I also love mowing lawns. We both love to walk and do lengthier hikes & can be found in the mornings trying to beat each other at Wordle & Quordle. We are both people who take pride and care not only in our home (including the grounds) but any home we visit or stay in. Our home base is on a small island in western Canada. We are homeowners and fully understand the housesitting social contract and responsibilities. We currently have trustworthy housesitters in our home while we are away. Peter and I, make a great housesitting team. I take the lead with the animal and home care, Peter supports me by playing with the pets and cuddle time. He also leads our dog walking explorations into nature. As our three children grew, our home was full of much loved animals. We had two family cats and two family dogs. Oliver, the cat was much loved in the neighbourhood. During the day he would sit by the gate, greet people, and beg for a pat. During the evening, when he was not snuggled up next to the dog, or swatting her tail, he would find a lap and stay there purring. He stayed in our family for 20 years. Lassie, a border collie/lab/husky cross is perhaps the most acclaimed of all our family pets. Our children still talk of her with great love. We adopted her when she was two years old. She 'heeled' with the click of a finger and kept guard over our children when they were young. She was the most amazing and lovable dog - her photo has an honoured place in our home. In the past, we have cared for cats, dogs, sheep, pigs, bees, chickens, ducks, fischers parrot, rabbits, and hamsters. The key in caring for pets is to have established expectations: food and exercise routines/cuddle times and ensure that animals have ample fresh water everyday. We love all animals and plants and can turn my hand to most tasks involved in caring for them. Also, I might add that I enjoy exploring regenerative agriculture concepts. We're extremely well organised, tidy, honest, flexible and caring. You can expect to return to your home as clean as you left it, if not cleaner, and with very happy pets. We've never pulled out of a sit as we're extremely reliable and the last thing we'd want is for you to have an issue because of us before you go on holiday. Experienced in garden and lawn care, spa and pool maintenance, rain and bore water tank system monitoring, ant prevention and setting pest control traps. As previous homeowners, we have enough common sense to know when to tackle any maintenance issues which may arise and when to request advice. We're also happy to do turnover service if you operate an active Air BnB on your property. We'll require a reliable unlimited internet connection (as we work remotely) and off street parking for our car. As non-smokers we're not interested in any sits where you normally smoke/vape indoors.

Rennie and I met when travelling overseas in the late 60's and have lived in Auckland since 1976, always in the central Auckland. Both of us are born and bred NZ ers, Rennie is from Wellington and I Auckland, which makes for interesting sports watching on occasions. 10 years ago we sold our family home after 31 years and now live in an apartment in the same area. Even more recently we sold our share in a co owned bach which we had for 36 years, this was a deliberate move to allow us more flexibility to travel around NZ. We are so used to sharing and being respectful to others in that shared space we thought house sitting and caring for other's treasured pets would be a great way to see our country. We have been retired now for several years but previously I was a registered nurse and Rennie a journalist. We both keep fit and active and enjoy walking. Mostly I keep busy with volunteer work and Rennie a great reader and avid newsman. Prior to our apartment life, which we love, we have always had pets in our family, cats and dogs. Our very first animal was a cat called Ola, she was a dear fluffy puss cat who's favorite trick was to bring us presents of squirming mice. She looked at us as if we were mad when we returned them to the garden. From Ola we had a series of cats all named by our son, we have had Sally, George (who was discovered to be Georgina when being spayed), Loverly and Pokey. The later two arrived very close together and Loverly adored Pokey who became pregnant while booked in to be spayed. She was still a kitten herself and when her babies were born Loverly took over the nurturing role and would marshall Pokey at feeding times. We lost Loverly early when she was run over. Wonderfully Pokey lived until she was 20. When we lost Loverly we became dog owners, our first a miniature schnauzer called Pebbles who sadly died from, the vet believed, of a congenital heart condition at 5. After Pebbles we got Slick from the SPCA, he was a good boy and we all loved him for the 14 years we had him. We miss them now.

I grew up with large dogs, first Border Collie, the Lab/Shephard cross, also having two Golden Retrievers of my own. The most recent and cherished, Murphy, died this past Christmas, at 9 years of age. At the same time as Murphy, I had a female pair of Indo Runner Ducks, Grace and Frankie. The three were very funny together, with Grace and Frankie believing they should have all the same comforts as Murphy (no, they were ducks and were house outside and free range). Full of character. Murphy knew their wake and feed schedule and would also come and get me if they were naughty, hungry or hadn't come back from their foraging. I'm self employed, currently establishing an online e-commerce business, which means I am completely available to be with your animal day and evening. As a lifestyle choice, I house sit full-time and am experienced with training dogs also. I have travelled widely around the world, over 25 countries and 95 cities. I have experience in home pet sitting, ran my own dog walking business and studying veterinary nursing prior to children. Now i have chosen to be a stay at home mum with casual gardening work and a market stall holder with a small business. With my Vet nursing training i did 160 hours experience in clinics. I learnt about first aid, surgery and administerimg medical care. Before this i completed my NZ Animal care certificate which included practical hours in Catterys and kennels. Before kids i was also working at Animates as a keyholder responsible to do the animal adoptions, banking and close the store. I learnt about behavioral training, food nutrition, medications and health product training. I provided husbandy care to the resident kittens, rabbits, mice, rats and hand fed turtles. I know about nutrition for reptiles but no real experience. We have a 9 year old cat Cosmo who sleeps and plays with the kids. We have had 2 free range chickens and a neighbour's horse we fed. My boy loved it and loves sheep and birds having owned a parakeet, Alexandrine. He would go traveling with us on his perch between chairs and play boo with you. We had to remove him because of jealous arising from new baby and I couldn't give him one on one attention, nor a large busy interactive family. He now has a baby lorikeet to care for and we are so happy. My cat was hit by a car years ago surviving just with 8 weeks recovery and me helping with this nursing care. I'm use to giving medications and maintaining diets. We have often stayed at book a Bach places with kids younh and a family friends bach. I have been with my partner Paul for nearly 9 years, owning land twice and hope to own a lifestyle block for life. We currently live on a sheep farm in a shepards house surrounded by sheep over the fence. It will just be Olivia and the 2 kids for housesitting when we visit family. We are based in rural rangitikei. We have family in the Kapiti Coast and Hawkes bay. Last summer i did pet sitting for nearly 2 weeks for a cat and turtle. Massive dog rescuer as well - just ask my friends, they groan at every new story of me finding a stray dog and getting it home safely. I love dogs and cats equally, and when I am asked which I prefer I say both. I have my own dog, the second in my life, and have owned cats until 10 years ago. I adopted Kato (bichon poodle x) when he was 3 and he had fear based issues after what appears to be a difficult first few years. It took a couple of years to make him aware he was safe and just on the planet to have a good time. Now he is a happy little guy who loves to walk, chase balls and hang out with his favourite humans, my 90 year old mother being one of them - having bitten her the first time they met over 5 years ago, they now have a very special bond. They even share the same birthday. I lived in Auckland for 20 years and love the Coromandel and Northland. I spent a lot of time in the Coromandel over summers, in a tent, holiday houses, staying at friends and travelling in motorhomes. Living in Christchurch I don't get much of any opportunity to get back there and I miss the beautiful weather and lush tropical geography. I love to walk, bike, explore, read, cook, love art house movies and documentaries, galleries, being near or in water and am very happy with my own company.

My 23-year-old daughter Charlotte is doing her Honours degree at Massey in Wellington, my 13-year-old Thomas is in year 9 and is a keen swimmer and rower and my 12-year-old Archie is in year 9 and is also a swimmer and into theatre in Christchurch. My husband works full-time, and we have a Border Collie called Dusty and a little black cat called Missy. I have been working in the entertainment industry for over 30 years and I often travel whether as Guest Entertainer on cruise ships or writing and producing my own shows, more recently I toured my Carole King show 'A Natural Woman' around NZ. I am also a yoga teacher and a singing coach. I like to be busy :-) I am coming to Wellington for 6 weeks to do my new show at Circa Theatre, and I am looking for accommodation. Being away for this length of time I would really like to live in a home rather than a hotel and if there are animals to care for all the better. My hours will be in the evening with rehearsals from 10th Jan until 18th Jan and opening the show from 19th January until 18th February. We love exploring different areas. We are experienced housesitters and will look after your home and pets as if they were our own with care and respect. We can cope with the unexpected. Over the years we have had dogs of our own and looked after other peoples’ labradors, retrievers, Jack Russells, collies, Alsatian, mixed breeds and rescue dogs. I loved it when our Jack Russell had pups. We have always had cats too. Though mainly our daughter was the cats’ best friend. Hamsters, Guinea pigs, rabbits, fish have all been part of the household at various times and once a rosella for a few weeks. For 30 years I have had one or two ponies or horses until my Connemara died in 2018. Sometimes I still ride but mainly I miss caring for horses. As we have had land in the past we’ve had various livestock, horses, cattle, sheep and are comfortable handling them. We have looked after other peoples’ hens and still say we will get some when we don’t go away so much. In the meantime we are often visited by our neighbours’ two hens making a getaway. My husband is a fixer, landscaper and creative worker with wood and natural materials. He is a keen caretaker of New Zealand’s natural environment. He is an avid reader and perceptive, humorous writer. I am still working as a psychologist mainly by Zoom one day a week. I enjoy the flexibility of being nearly retired and having time to play the guitar and dabble in the garden and with various art projects. In amongst this we enjoy time with our three daughters, their families and children and are looking forward to a new addition. We look forward to meeting you and your pets very soon.

Hello, I’m Kate; here is a little about me. I am a Teacher and have had the good fortune to have been able to travel the world with my career. I’m originally from Nelson. During the last 25 years, I have lived and worked in London, Bangkok, HCMC, Shanghai, and Beijing. It has all been an exciting adventure. While living and working in Vietnam and China, I looked after friends’ pups and then went on to foster many dogs. I found a tiny puppy on the street in Shanghai. He lived with me for three years and turned out to be a big dog. His name is Paddy. Sadly, I could not bring him back to New Zealand with me. I found him a great and loving home and have regular contact with his 2nd Mummy. I will always be 1st Mummy. I am sure you will understand how heartbreaking it was separating from him. Howdy, My name is Fanchi, and it's a pleasure to meet you! I recently relocated to New Zealand to teach at Victoria University and I'm enjoying my new life here. However, leaving my two dogs back in Budapest, Hungary has been tough for me. Although my family and friends are taking excellent care of them, I miss them dearly. Before moving to New Zealand, I completed a two-year guide dog training program as a hobby. My Labrador pup, Roze, is now with her final owner - a kind blind lady with three children. Our family has raised five dogs and we always organized our lives around them. In addition, we have been fortunate enough to have kept bunnies, ducklings, and several exotic pets as companions, and we took great pleasure in caring for them. When it comes to four-legged friends, I adore hiking in the Wellington area and would be thrilled to have your dog accompany me. I work from home or the VUW Te Aro campus and am only away for four hours on office days. I have stayed in two Airbnb locations in Lyall Bay and Hataitai Beach since my arrival, and I will soon receive my first house-sitting reference. I recently sold my own home and planning to travel later this year, so I would like to housesit in the meantime. I am quiet and responsible and clean, and very respectful of people's property. I have been housesitting for a few months, and getting great feedback. I have always loved all animals and take good care of them. I have been looking after cats, dogs, chickens, guinea pigs and sheep! I would be always contactable, respectful of all instructions, pleasant and responsive, and clean and tidy. I am happy to look after plants and do gardening too as required. My background is working for private and public sectors as an economist for many years and then became a landlord of my own rental property and doing contract office-based work from home. Kia Ora, We are a couple in our thirties who are settling in to New Zealand from abroad (Aimee from Australia, Tetteh from the US). We met in London 6 years ago, and are very much enjoying living in beautiful Aotearoa. We are enjoying house sitting as we love the opportunity to see different parts of the country, love animals, and have flexibility given we largely work from home. We are both working professionals - Aimee is a Social Worker having spent the last 13 years working in the criminal justice system, and Tetteh is a Forensic Psychologist. Tetteh also has a education background and has previously worked as a University Lecturer in Forensic Psychology, however is also a qualified Psychologist. He is currently contracting to organisations doing training and facilitation, one on one therapy, and group therapy for those with substance use issues. Aimee also works from home and contracts to Ministry of Justice completing court reports for criminal courts, as well as doing training and facilitation and restorative practice with tertiary institutions and organisations. We both largely work from home, however do have face to face meetings or workshops in town a few times per week. We both come from homes where we have adored our pets. Aimee grew up with cats, and has a family cat named Sunny who is the family princess and adored by everyone. Tetteh is a HUGE animal lover, and takes up every opportunity to spend time with family and friends who have animals (particularly dogs!). We are both very responsible people who do not smoke, are outgoing and trustworthy, and happy to ensure all steps are taken to ensure your animals and property are adequately cared for. In my most recent housesits in New Zealand, I used my experience of growing up with animals and my pet-loving and caring nature to support owners to feel at ease whilst they were away on their holiday. I am a strong relationship builder and communicator and am able to quickly build rapport with you and your pets. I value building an encouraging, positive and friendly environment with everyone I meet. An example of this is when I recently housesat in Wellington and looked after several chickens. As I do not eat eggs, I quickly made friends with some neighbours by sharing them so they did not go to waste. Alfie the dog and I were soon invited along for evening walks and morning coffees. I always make sure to send you regular photos of your pets having fun and being cared for as I know you’ll be worrying about and missing them. With my years of staying in housesitting, houseshares and living in tiny homes, I pride myself on keeping a clean home. An example of this is organising myself with a weekly cleaning rota where I split the tasks up over the week to break down the tasks and keep on top. I am also a keen gardener, growing vegetables and flowers from seed to table and caring for a variety of cacti and houseplants. I am happy to keep on top of watering and garden maintenance for you as required. I am enthusiastic, committed and dynamic and my experience in international travel, housesitting, owning and caring for dogs, goats, cows, chickens, cats and bees have gained me the skills and confidence to housesit for your beloved pets and home. Also, my skill in communication and building relationships with you, your pet and your close ones and my passion of keeping the homes I stay in clean will make sure you can relax on your holiday and return to happy pets and a a calm and clean home. I love to travel and have several hobbies including walking, cooking and sewing. I work in the health industry and after finishing my fixed term contract, I am taking some time off to travel and will be working in Wellington from June.
