We are 69 and 75 yrs, involved in golf croquet, bridge, Mah Jong, Bolivia, Bushy Park Wildlife Sanctuary (Board member) and the Association of Administration Professionals NZ. We enjoy walking, riding e bikes and reading, and are keen gardeners. We have travelled a lot overseas but would like to revisit a lot of areas in NZ in our retirement. For January sits only, we often have our two grandchildren with us13 and 15 years old. They have come with us for the last 5 years and this has not been a problem. In fact they help to entertain dogs who like to play and fetch ball a lot. For the past 20 years we have done 25 home exchanges mainly in USA, Australia, England, Italy, Belgium, Austria and Ireland. Some of these involved looking after pets as well as owners' homes. We have also done 30 house and pets sits in NZ and Australia. Our most recent house sits were in Perth looking after two border collies and two cats in Sept 2024, in Wellington looking after a Sydney Silkie for a week in May 2024, lifestyle blocks in New Plymouth in Jan 2024 looking after alpacas, a border collie, a labrador and a cat; in Jan 2023 another lifestyle block looking after chickens, geese, pigs, piglets, steers, cats, a border collie and fish - a complex feeding programme for this sit with the variety of animals., We have spent three weeks in Cairns in 2016 looking after Angel, a shitzu, 2 weeks in Christchurch looking after two shitzus; four weeks in Toowoomba, Brisbane in 2017 looking after a bichon, 2 weeks in Whanganui looking after a Labrador and KC the cat; and in Palmerston North, NZ looking after 2 bichons Maisie and Maggie in 2018 twice; and a Bichon and shitzhu and Burmese cat in New Plymouth, 2 labs in Te Puke in 2019 and a boxer in Christchurch for 3 weeks in 2020. More recently we have looked after Maltese/ shih zhu, border terriers, collies, pigs, geese, fish, chickens, birds, sheep and cows. All the dogs were gorgeous and loved going for walks, going out in the car and playing ball in the park. If the dogs are elderly or small we are mindful of their walking limitations. We have had cats over the years and more recently looked after our adult sons' dogs; cavoodles and a heading/pointer cross. We have also looked after cocker spaniels and labradors. Graeme is particularly fond of border collies and we would have one except we have a small section and travel a fair bit. I have been employed as a PA at the local hospital for the past 24 years and on casual project work. We are both now retired; Graeme is a handyman type and maintains our house and garden to a high standard. We have built and landscaped two homes, taking pride in keeping them well maintained. We are reliable, clean, honest and caring of pets. We are happy to take your dog(s) for walks and out with us in the car if they like car trips. We would look after your home as you would and you can be reassured things will be left as we find them. We are happy to talk to and play with your pets, mow lawns and water gardens if needed. Hi I have lived in Hamilton, New Zealand all my life and I am married to Nick for 33 years and we have grown up children, a daughter and two sons and I thought it would be fun to housesit as a way to see NZ. Our daughter is married and living in Christchurch and we have one grandchild. I enjoy walking and going to daily gym classes and my husband enjoys long bike rides. We are very active. I managed a house we own as an Airbnb for over two years managing bookings per night so I know what is involved in caring for a home. I have dealt with many different nationalities and many situations that arise from having a home on Airbnb. I ensured our Airbnb house was clean and well presented and that the garden was appealing and well managed. I have always had pets those being cats, dogs, chickens, canaries, goldfish - although we do not presently have a pet as sadly our beautiful 14 year old dog Bosco passed away this year My husband is experienced in managing livestock as he was brought up on a farm. I know how to care for animals giving them time, exercise, fresh water and good food. I am also aware of the signs of when a pet is feeling unwell and when to take to the vet. Hello House and Pet Owner. I am a recently retired lady who has had animals around me almost all my life. Growing up on a Waikato dairy farm saw me having cats, dogs, cows, a horse, alpacas. Shortly my lifestyle block and 15 coloured sheep and their new lambs will be sold. Caring for others (humans and animals) is what I do best.. Currently I am caring for my 86 yr old family friend to enable him to remain living in his own home. I have supported him with his pet dog care, shopping, finances, house work, gardening, companionship for the last 10 years on a regular basis. I’m a tidy, quiet, non drinker, non smoker vegan and very reliable. Hobbies are reading, walking, travel and gardening. I have an e-bike. Family is important to me so I like visiting my 4 siblings and my 4 children. I have my own car and drivers licence so should your pet become ill during your absence I can happily and easily take them to your designated Vet for treatment. Aside from 15 years as a dairy farmer and 20 years as a landlord my working life has included responsible professional roles of legal secretary and banking consultant which are proof of my high degree of honesty, integrity and excellent communication. I’m eager to take care of your pets and home for you. I’m hoping my house sitting will take me to many beautiful places with beautiful pets. Hi! Exciting times for me. I have recently retired from a busy career, and have just moved from Auckland. Contacts from friends has seen me recently complete two housesits of 2 weeks, and 3 weeks duration in Hawkes Bay. One with a dog, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs, 3 chooks, a rabbit and some fish; the other with a dog and a cat. Over the years I have been a house sitter, a home owner, and a renter. I am used to moving around as my career has seen me change location a number of times, as well as regular travel and overnight stays. I’m pet free at the moment. My job necessitated regular travel, meaning I couldn’t give the required care and attention to a pet. As a child we had a very much loved family cat. When I had my children we had 2 cats from kittens and they completed our household with their crazy antics. My experience with dogs has been with a farm dog early in marriage, and later with an adult golden Labrador who was great with the kids and an easy care dog. There has since been a gap. My brother in the Bay has a staffie, and I will be housesitting and caring for him for 4 days in April. Approximately 20 years ago I housesat over a year, mainly in Gisborne. One housesit was for 3 months overseeing a home that was on the market, keeping it viewing ready. I also for 4 years looked after a large home each Christmas which one year included feeding aviary pigeons. I’ve also in the Bay looked after a mother cat and kittens for 2 weeks. I will treat your home carefully. Love to look after cats and open to well behaved dogs. I can also care for chooks as often feed and collect eggs on my sons farm. My hobbies include casual walking and exploring new places. I’ve been a keen gardener in the past so am happy to water gardens and look after pots. We are Taz and Rosie, we have been living in New Zealand since July 2022. Rosie is an NZ citizen and Taz is here on a partnership visa. We work in the summer on festivals and events in management roles for glamping companies and in the off season we have been working as landscapers/gardeners with Taz doing some building work also. We travel in our campervan to jobs over the summer so housesitting would be ideal for us to see more new places in New Zealand or to take some more relaxed days between jobs. Taz has had family dogs at home his whole life and studied Animal Management at college. He has cared for dogs, cats, reptiles; lizards including large lizards like bosc monitors, some snake experience, rats, hamsters and chickens. Taz rescued a dog in the UK in 2014 and raised him with friends who he lives with now. Rosie has had cats as family pets her whole life as well as small tropical fish. I have cared for dogs of friends/family over the last 10 years including becoming a main guardian for Tazs dog after we met in 2020. Other family pets have been horses and pigs which I have some experience providing care for. With the right instruction ahead of time we are comfortable with almost any animal! We have both house sat previously for friends/whanau in the UK & New Zealand.This has covered stays of 2 days to 3 weeks with care for dogs with a range of needs (nervous dogs, walking routines etc). A homeowner can expect that we are a clean, tidy and responsible couple. We love animals and would be more than happy to have a routine during our stay that supports their wellbeing, be it extra fusses or walks! We also understand that there is a lot of trust allowing someone to stay in your home space and would treat your home with the utmost respect.

Warm greetings, my name is Kirsty and I am wife to Richard and Mum to two lovely daughters who are 9 and 5. We are ex Aucklanders who moved to Wanganui in 2019. I am a full time Mum (with a background in Event Management), my husband owns his own building company. We are a Christian family who love music, theatre, nature/outdoors, singing, reading, animals and travelling. Our reasons for wanting to house sit are two fold. 1) For opportunities to stay in Auckland for longer term visits to see our family who we really miss and 2) We absolutely love exploring our beautiful country, but as living costs increase it's becoming harder and harder to have holidays away. We usually stay in air bnbs, but house sitting would help us out immensely. We are home owners in Wanganui and we have also extensively used air bnbs to take our girls on mini breaks away. All our reviews from staying in different homes have been A+. We also personally keep a very tidy, organised, clean home in Wanganui. Although we don't own a lot of pets (currently two cats), we love animals! We are very caring by nature and very frequently visit friends farms in Wanganui who have a wide range of pets/farm animals which our girls love to experience. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. We are a couple in our late 20s and early 30s living in Wellington. We love housesitting because it combines two of the things we both really love; travelling and pets. Due to our current migratory situation we do not have pets and house sitting is a way we can enjoy the company of animals and explore new suburbs. We have both had dogs and cats in the past. Nachi has also volunteered with the SPCA where she looked after chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs amongst others. She also attended a farm school and has experience caring for farm animals. We believe that animals are part of the family and will go above and beyond to ensure they are well looked after and don't miss their human family too much while you are away. We have been housesitting since June 2021 and have become the biggest fans of it. We love being able to meet and spend time with many different fur-friends. Life is one big adventure! I like to be kept busy; I love to travel, discovering out of the way places, meeting new people & embracing life. But my family pets have always been a top priority. House sitting offers some exciting opportunities, but more specifically it will provide me with the pleasures of 'adopting' your family pets, if only for a short time. (And, I certainly miss not having my own pet to care for). There has always been a cat or dog (or both) in the house and then there have been the children's tropical fish, German rat, guinea pigs, rabbits, and birds! We've even had a couple of cats 'adopt' us! I also volunteered for 18 months at a bird rescue centre a few years ago which was a very rewarding experience. From a young age until her early 20s, I also used to spend a lot of time at my aunt & uncles farm where they had a dairy herd, goats and a chicken run. Animals have always featured in my life. I have been fortunate to have had some wonderful House & pet sitting opportunities over the past 3 years (with a global house sitting company) looking after dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and birds - most of these sits were while I was based in the UK. I'm now cutting back on my time away from NZ and, after hearing very positive comments about The Housesitting Company, have decided to join so that I can focus more on NZ sits. We are the lucky ones. We get to travel, explore new places, meet new people and look after your pets. My husband Steve and I have 4 grown up daughters, and 3 delightful grandchildren. We have worked hard in our lives, and our time to explore, travel and see our beautiful country is now. We have both been brought up on Dairy and Sheep/Beef farms. We have a small lifestyle block (12 acres) near Taupo where one of our adult children lives. We are very experienced with animals and currently have on our farm, horses, cows, a dog, chickens and a couple of cats. We have previously had beef steers and sheep, including lambing. We have a deep love of animals and both Steve and I are active relaxers, which means your dogs will get loads of walking, activities and cuddles while you are away. I have been living in Australia and have recently returned as the heat was too much for me! My lovely wife passed away a few years ago after 47 years of marriage. I am a young and active senior who retired at Christmas 2021, I had worked with Ontario's largest Children's Mental Health Agency for 18 years. I am a non smoker and tea total (well coffee addict). I arrived in back NZ early 2022 after spending 19 years in Canada. My husband passed away in 2021. Quite the battle to get into MIQ to return home, with the lotto draw they installed !!! I am currently living with my son and daughter in law, and it would be nice to spend time away on the odd occasion. I house sat before leaving for Canada in Omokoroa and Mount Maunganui. One was an Avocado Orchard and they had 70 Parrots in aviaries on the property, such fun. I have been the proud owner of 5 rescue Old English Sheepdogs.. not all at the same time !!!! so I know about grooming. My last dog Boomer was 116lbs, (52.5kg) a big strong boy and the light of our lives. In 2020 we started to foster dogs brought up from Texas from the "high kill" pounds. Copper was our first, A Walker Coon Hound... never heard of them before and what a delight with his howl. I will leave your home as you left it though I do enjoy gardening and cleaning windows... A beautiful house I sat in last year was a riverside property, with lovely views of water and trees. The two dogs Jasper & Toto, would join me on my morning walk up the quiet road, and be my companions in the evening by the fire. My recent sit, in Turiko, required care of chickens and lawns, both of which I tended with care. The chooks made interesting subjects to draw. As a sitter I live quietly. Because I love home Ill be at yours most of the time, popping out for the odd 4 hour work shift, shopping, walking, and meeting friends. If you have gardens Ill do a spot of weeding, am happy to mow lawns, and generally keep indoors and out neat and tidy. I walk most days and enjoy walking dogs, perferring smaller breds. Two weeks 2014. Other times in Auckland, while a friend visited UK, collected mail, fed cat, clean house, water plants, this lasted five weeks. At present restoring a colonial house in Leigh area, caring for cats, little goats, chickens and a dog, since then work has stopped. My latest Housesit was in Western Springs for ten days, the ginger cat Lucy had a stroke so needed a lot of care. Lucy loved to sleep on the bed with me, I loved having her close. The other cat Diesel was more independent. My other duties were watering the garden and collecting the mail. Also over the Xmas new year period I went to houses with sole purpose of feeding, patting and caring for four different cats. Also specialise in turtle minding, feeding for my son and his girlfriend. With golf being a sport that we both enjoy, the opportunity to play courses in your region is an added appeal for house sitting. but also assures you that we are fit and able to walk as far as your pets need. Furthermore, she is very familiar with NZ culture, landscapes, fauna and flora as she has been planning this trip for 4 years. Her job is a freelance graphic designer, so she is used to remote working. She has been a house sitter several times. She has also done some couch-surfing many times with good reviews. At the moment our 2 children in their twenties are in the UK. Circumstances make it necessary for us to return to the UK from May 23rd to September 12th so we will be unavailable during that period. We are pretty much home birds and are very happy to chill and read or make friends with your lovely pets. The main reason being that we are animal lovers and Lesley especially is feeling pet deprived at the moment since having to put down our most adored cat Ginger 18 months ago. Kia Ora! We’re Emma and Elias, twins on tour through New Zealand with a working holiday visa, eager to explore the country and its people. Whilst looking for an accommodation we’ve stumbled upon house/pet sitting, which seemed perfect to us both. Both of us adore pets and animals in general and even though we only have fish at home;), both of us have plenty of experience, especially with dogs. I, Emma, did a school exchange in 2020 and lived in a family with 3 dogs (a husky and 2 adopted strays). I took care of them every day of the year, taking all three of them on long walks through the beautiful nature of Andalusia and still, almost three years later, I miss them dearly. I also made a habit out of going to the local Dog-Rescue-Center, taking little pups without a home on walks along the beach. I, Elias, have a close friend with 3 young australian shepherds. Back in Germany I joined them for a walk every day over the last year and cared for them whenever the family was away. I’ve helped educating them since the age of 12 weeks and went through all stages of adolescence with the little rascals. All three of them have a special place in my heart and they will be my first stop when this travel experience comes to an end. Even though both of us have more experience taking care of dogs, we have helped friends and family with cats whenever we had the chance to. If you choose us as sitters you can expect two young, responsible adults to take care of both your home and your animal/s with lots of love and passion. Retirees available to care for your home and pets anywhere in New Zealand as their own. We have always had pets mainly cats, dogs and a few chooks in our lives from childhood. Since marriage we have always owned cats and dogs, firstly Asti and Loti, two Burmese cats, then a tabby rescue cat who was very shy but she loved our Black Lab Joey, they were great mates. After both passed away our younger son came home with Lucy a rescue dog who was found in a cat cage in a wardrobe. Lucy can home dressed in dolls cloths and was so small she could sit on my knees. We tried to socialise her with other dogs without success but Lucy was a faithful companion who we walked at night to give her the space she needed to not become stressed around other dogs. Our children have their own families and our sons both have dogs, Ash, a Staffy and Poppy, a Labradoodle, totally different dogs. Ash is always so excited to see us and has to receive a cuddly and then settles down whereas Poppy is more laid back, come to see us but not as excited. We are living with Poppy at the moment and walk her most days. Our daughter has a Burmese cat who always sits on Janice knee at night, but she does the sitting, if you pick her up she takes a while to settle. I have two friends one with an old LabX Sammie and the other a Border Collie, Lockie who we both have a lot of contact with. Sammie, we have looked after at both his home and ours many times. In our professional life, Brian was an ideals person designing many electronics products, and I was the administration and finance person for companies we owned over our working life. We raised three children and have 5 grandchildren living in Auckland and Wellington. Our home is in Auckland but we spend a lot of time between both cities. We are always on the go, helping in the community, renovating family homes, out tramping, yachting, cycling, skiing, travelling and spending time with our grandchildren. Brian can turn his hand to most things in the home and garden but does know his limits and will call in professionals if need be. I am a cook, cleaner and gardener who loves to talk to humans and animals. We are both members of Rotary and like contributing to our community and Janice is a volunteer at the Community Op Shop and SPACE (a program for first time parents) and both Brian and Janice volunteer at Kai Tahi (eat together) community meals, and an twice yearly e-waste collection. Both non smokers, enjoy clean living with clean criminal international and local records. We met in Malaysia while working as volunteers with cats and dogs for SPCA in early 2015. After that we did a period of volunteers with tigers in Thailand. Highlight of our lives. Great experience to be so close and intimate with a wild animals. Few scars but lived to tell all the tales. After we worked with them, cats and dogs are so easy. Next, hoping to spend some time with elephants. We have done home sitting in NZ as well as offshore in Europe and China as well as a 4 week stay in Malaysia. Although we like to travel, live clean and appreciate clean houses so your home will be looked after. Although not fantastic green fingers, we will happily mow your grass and pull a few weeds as required. As we both still work part time, appreciate wi-fi so we can still receive emails etc. Sky is not important cause we rather be outside enjoying open air as against watching TV. Also since 2017, a volunteer firefighter originally with Otorohanga but would consider helping any local volunteer brigade. Rem has in the past also looked after NZ Police dogs while their handler has gone on holiday so the average dog should be relatively easy. Happy to walk the dogs and where possible, take them to the beach if possible. Hopefully have secure parking for the BMW as well? Since Feb 2017 we have lived in Otorohanga and have looked after various local and surrounding properties. A 550 acre grazing farm and a very upmarket lifestyle house. Although it’s been fun here, we are ready for another area from now on. Long term housesits preferred but will consider short options as well. Yuling now lives in Wellington full time while Rem commutes.

When I was married and we bought our first house, having pets was a top priority. After 3 years we had 3 cats (Tabby, Tina and Kate) and 2 Beagles (Tony and Lucy). I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. I no longer have pets of my own so I would really love the opportunity to care for yours, either outside of Auckland when I ready for a break or in Auckland for a 'staycation' I am mature, responsible, respectful and resourceful. After our last elderly dog passed away 5 years ago, we really missed having a dog in our home, so became approved volunteer puppy boarders for Blind/Low Vision puppies, and are still enjoying providing this service. Allan's parents were dairy farmers, and he loved farm life. He is an enthusiastic golfer and gardener, a Justice of the Peace, and volunteers for the Papamoa Community patrol. Jenny is also a keen gardener, enjoys both an exercise/social group and a craft group, volunteers regularly at Good Neighbour Food Rescue, and loves being involved with a Music and Movement group for preschoolers and their Mums. We both belong to Probus, and are also rostered on for several roles at our church. As we have friends and family in Christchurch and various parts of the North Island, we are excited about the prospect of house sitting when we travel to those areas, as well as when we explore new areas that we haven't yet been to. I, Caroline Mundy, is a recently retired Civil/Structural engineer. I was born and raised in Malaysia, but went to Britain for my tertiary studies. I graduated from Cardiff University with an honours degree in Civil and Structural Engineering and later gained a Masters degree in the same subject at Sheffield University. I am married to Chris Mundy, an editor at NZQA, Wellington. Chris and I grew up with pets in our families, and from this we gained a life-long love of animals. Over the years, we have had many different animals as pets, including a sheep which eventually died of old age!, a golden retriever, a duckling, rabbits, a weta and doves, all of which were much loved by us and our two children. We also adopted the school's cockatoo and axolotl during school holidays. We took our friend's cat to be with our family whilst they worked overseas. Sadly, our adorable all white cat named Pearl has passed away and we no longer have any pets. So, it would be really lovely to be able to look after someone else's pets. As we no longer have children living with us, we have more freedom to explore and travel to new places, which we both love doing. It also enables us to take a break from our rather busy lives by housesitting every now and then. Having pets with our accommodation is an added bonus to us. Hello there, My name is Donna and I'm a 60 year old mother of three children. I grew up in the Hutt Valley and have spent most of my life in the Wellington/Wairarapa area. For the past 10 years, I've been a healthcare assistance at a number of retirement villages in the Wellington region. While not working, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, going for bush walks and reading a good novel. I am a well organised & respectful person & very reliable/trusting after 31 years in the international banking & finance industry & private consultancy space. I am now working on a NZ Government (MFAT) international aid & development programme since November 2020 that covers 12 countries across the Pacific. I lived & travelled overseas for almost 20 years & returned to NZ in mid 2020 during the midst of Covid & am now double vaccinated & double boosted as well. I have the utmost integrity while maintaining a solid moral compass & set of values. I am also an avid & long-term part time student & I am in the throes of completing my PhD qualification by 2024. I/we are interested in house sitting because I love travel & visiting new places after having travelled & worked overseas in many countries since the mid 1990s. We have no pets at present and decided not to, to allow us to travel more easily. Previously we had 9 chickens - our 'other children'. We love animals and have had experience with our own cats (5), rabbit, guinea pigs, chickens and a Labrador dog (Abby). We even got to look after Sea Monkeys for one of our boys. One of our boys has Purebred American Bulldogs & we love visiting & playing with them. In the recent Auckland floods (for the 2nd time) close friends of ours bought their 6 chickens to us, to care for, until they were able to live in their home again - the first time we had them for over 6 months and more recently 3 months. Their 'babies' were well loved & looked after. Mick is a keen diver and loves to get out in the garden, Tracey used to be a professional cleaner so keeping a home sparkling clean is my thing - I also love mowing lawns. We both love to walk and do lengthier hikes & can be found in the mornings trying to beat each other at Wordle & Quordle. We are both people who take pride and care not only in our home (including the grounds) but any home we visit or stay in. We absolutely both respect your home is your castle, that your pets are your joy and we want you to go away knowing we will love your animals and care for them & your house (and grounds if required) so you can just relax. We have a flexible timeline and a vehicle. ...a little about us. I am a NZ'er and a retired educator. Peter is canadian and a retired computer engineer. Our home base is on a small island in western Canada. We are homeowners and fully understand the housesitting social contract and responsibilities. We currently have trustworthy housesitters in our home while we are away. Peter and I, make a great housesitting team. I take the lead with the animal and home care, Peter supports me by playing with the pets and cuddle time. He also leads our dog walking explorations into nature. As our three children grew, our home was full of much loved animals. We had two family cats and two family dogs. Oliver, the cat was much loved in the neighbourhood. During the day he would sit by the gate, greet people, and beg for a pat. During the evening, when he was not snuggled up next to the dog, or swatting her tail, he would find a lap and stay there purring. He stayed in our family for 20 years. Lassie, a border collie/lab/husky cross is perhaps the most acclaimed of all our family pets. Our children still talk of her with great love. We adopted her when she was two years old. She 'heeled' with the click of a finger and kept guard over our children when they were young. She was the most amazing and lovable dog - her photo has an honoured place in our home. In the past, we have cared for cats, dogs, sheep, pigs, bees, chickens, ducks, fischers parrot, rabbits, and hamsters. The key in caring for pets is to have established expectations: food and exercise routines/cuddle times and ensure that animals have ample fresh water everyday. We love all animals and plants and can turn my hand to most tasks involved in caring for them. Also, I might add that I enjoy exploring regenerative agriculture concepts. I am a founding director of School Orchards Africa Society, in Tanzania. Having built our home and hobby farm, Peter is familiar with most house systems, on and off grid. He is a good guitar player. We've looked after various property types before, anything from multi-story homes with gardens and pools, apartments or a secluded colonial era bed and breakfast, all the way to rural lifestyle blocks with farm animals and living partially off grid. Since returning to NZ our speciality has certainly been rural lifestyle blocks as we love the peace and quiet of the countryside and exploring nature. We're extremely well organised, tidy, honest, flexible and caring. You can expect to return to your home as clean as you left it, if not cleaner, and with very happy pets. We've never pulled out of a sit as we're extremely reliable and the last thing we'd want is for you to have an issue because of us before you go on holiday. Experienced in garden and lawn care, spa and pool maintenance, rain and bore water tank system monitoring, ant prevention and setting pest control traps. As previous homeowners, we have enough common sense to know when to tackle any maintenance issues which may arise and when to request advice. We're also happy to do turnover service if you operate an active Air BnB on your property. We'll require a reliable unlimited internet connection (as we work remotely) and off street parking for our car. As non-smokers we're not interested in any sits where you normally smoke/vape indoors.

Rennie and I met when travelling overseas in the late 60's and have lived in Auckland since 1976, always in the central Auckland. Both of us are born and bred NZ ers, Rennie is from Wellington and I Auckland, which makes for interesting sports watching on occasions. 10 years ago we sold our family home after 31 years and now live in an apartment in the same area. Even more recently we sold our share in a co owned bach which we had for 36 years, this was a deliberate move to allow us more flexibility to travel around NZ. We are so used to sharing and being respectful to others in that shared space we thought house sitting and caring for other's treasured pets would be a great way to see our country. We have been retired now for several years but previously I was a registered nurse and Rennie a journalist. We both keep fit and active and enjoy walking. Mostly I keep busy with volunteer work and Rennie a great reader and avid newsman. Prior to our apartment life, which we love, we have always had pets in our family, cats and dogs. Our very first animal was a cat called Ola, she was a dear fluffy puss cat who's favorite trick was to bring us presents of squirming mice. She looked at us as if we were mad when we returned them to the garden. From Ola we had a series of cats all named by our son, we have had Sally, George (who was discovered to be Georgina when being spayed), Loverly and Pokey. The later two arrived very close together and Loverly adored Pokey who became pregnant while booked in to be spayed. She was still a kitten herself and when her babies were born Loverly took over the nurturing role and would marshall Pokey at feeding times. We lost Loverly early when she was run over. Wonderfully Pokey lived until she was 20. When we lost Loverly we became dog owners, our first a miniature schnauzer called Pebbles who sadly died from, the vet believed, of a congenital heart condition at 5. After Pebbles we got Slick from the SPCA, he was a good boy and we all loved him for the 14 years we had him. We miss them now.

My husband and I have owned our own home for 20 years now and understand how precious the home is to a family. Im Olivia stay at home mum to Levi 4 over summer and hazel is 2 years. I am respectful of others homes, responsible considerate of any animals i care for. I have experience in home pet sitting, ran my own dog walking business and studying veterinary nursing prior to children. Now i have chosen to be a stay at home mum with casual gardening work and a market stall holder with a small business. With my Vet nursing training i did 160 hours experience in clinics. I learnt about first aid, surgery and administerimg medical care. Before this i completed my NZ Animal care certificate which included practical hours in Catterys and kennels. Before kids i was also working at Animates as a keyholder responsible to do the animal adoptions, banking and close the store. I learnt about behavioral training, food nutrition, medications and health product training. I provided husbandy care to the resident kittens, rabbits, mice, rats and hand fed turtles. I know about nutrition for reptiles but no real experience. We have a 9 year old cat Cosmo who sleeps and plays with the kids. We have had 2 free range chickens and a neighbour's horse we fed. My boy loved it and loves sheep and birds having owned a parakeet, Alexandrine. He would go traveling with us on his perch between chairs and play boo with you. We had to remove him because of jealous arising from new baby and I couldn't give him one on one attention, nor a large busy interactive family. He now has a baby lorikeet to care for and we are so happy. My cat was hit by a car years ago surviving just with 8 weeks recovery and me helping with this nursing care. I'm use to giving medications and maintaining diets. We have often stayed at book a Bach places with kids younh and a family friends bach. I have been with my partner Paul for nearly 9 years, owning land twice and hope to own a lifestyle block for life. We currently live on a sheep farm in a shepards house surrounded by sheep over the fence. It will just be Olivia and the 2 kids for housesitting when we visit family. We are based in rural rangitikei. We have family in the Kapiti Coast and Hawkes bay. Last summer i did pet sitting for nearly 2 weeks for a cat and turtle. We will care for your home like it's ours and appreciate the opportunity to give our time and care to your animals. Whilst we receive in this exchange a nice home to stay in when we travel. Even though I currently am not a pet owner (As I am committed to my degree, it's not the right time to commit to a pet) I have tonnes of experience taking care of animals as I grew up in a rural community with many animals around. I think house sitting will give me the freedom to explore lots of new surroundings and travel of course! whilst I continue my studies. I love all animals and thought that when I grew up I wanted to become a vet! So your animals are in safe hands! I will treat them as if they were my own. I love plants as well! I will take extra special care of any plant life you may have in your home. In fact in my home in christchurch I have 33 houseplants to be precise! We love exploring different areas. We are experienced housesitters and will look after your home and pets as if they were our own with care and respect. We can cope with the unexpected. Over the years we have had dogs of our own and looked after other peoples’ labradors, retrievers, Jack Russells, collies, Alsatian, mixed breeds and rescue dogs. I loved it when our Jack Russell had pups. We have always had cats too. Though mainly our daughter was the cats’ best friend. Hamsters, Guinea pigs, rabbits, fish have all been part of the household at various times and once a rosella for a few weeks. For 30 years I have had one or two ponies or horses until my Connemara died in 2018. Sometimes I still ride but mainly I miss caring for horses. As we have had land in the past we’ve had various livestock, horses, cattle, sheep and are comfortable handling them. We have looked after other peoples’ hens and still say we will get some when we don’t go away so much. In the meantime we are often visited by our neighbours’ two hens making a getaway. My husband is a fixer, landscaper and creative worker with wood and natural materials. He is a keen caretaker of New Zealand’s natural environment. He is an avid reader and perceptive, humorous writer. I am still working as a psychologist mainly by Zoom one day a week. I enjoy the flexibility of being nearly retired and having time to play the guitar and dabble in the garden and with various art projects. In amongst this we enjoy time with our three daughters, their families and children and are looking forward to a new addition. We look forward to meeting you and your pets very soon.

Hello, I’m Kate; here is a little about me. I am a Teacher and have had the good fortune to have been able to travel the world with my career. I’m originally from Nelson. During the last 25 years, I have lived and worked in London, Bangkok, HCMC, Shanghai, and Beijing. It has all been an exciting adventure. While living and working in Vietnam and China, I looked after friends’ pups and then went on to foster many dogs. I found a tiny puppy on the street in Shanghai. He lived with me for three years and turned out to be a big dog. His name is Paddy. Sadly, I could not bring him back to New Zealand with me. I found him a great and loving home and have regular contact with his 2nd Mummy. I will always be 1st Mummy. I am sure you will understand how heartbreaking it was separating from him. I am currently living in Auckland and am keen to see more of NZ particularly the South Island. I am available for house sits all over NZ during the school holidays. During the last two years I have been pet and house sitting regularly. I love dogs and cats. I am a keen walker and love finding new places to walk. The only thing that is missing is a furry freind. Hey there, I am very much hoping that you choose me to house sit your home, i am responsible, reliable, clean, trustworthy and very respectful. I am a home bodied sort of person and enjoy reading, drawing, watching docos and cooking good food in my down time. I am a chef by trade but am currently working as a gardener/ landscaper as well as a few art projects on the side, so if your garden needs tending to I'll be more than happy to help. I absolutely love all animals and grew up having a few cats and dogs. I have house sat for people in the past but have never used this website to do so. If you choose me you can expect your furry friend (s) to be showered and bathed in love, cuddles and good times. Kia Ora, We are a couple in our thirties who are settling in to New Zealand from abroad (Aimee from Australia, Tetteh from the US). We met in London 6 years ago, and are very much enjoying living in beautiful Aotearoa. We are enjoying house sitting as we love the opportunity to see different parts of the country, love animals, and have flexibility given we largely work from home. We are both working professionals - Aimee is a Social Worker having spent the last 13 years working in the criminal justice system, and Tetteh is a Forensic Psychologist. Tetteh also has a education background and has previously worked as a University Lecturer in Forensic Psychology, however is also a qualified Psychologist. He is currently contracting to organisations doing training and facilitation, one on one therapy, and group therapy for those with substance use issues. Aimee also works from home and contracts to Ministry of Justice completing court reports for criminal courts, as well as doing training and facilitation and restorative practice with tertiary institutions and organisations. We both largely work from home, however do have face to face meetings or workshops in town a few times per week. We both come from homes where we have adored our pets. Aimee grew up with cats, and has a family cat named Sunny who is the family princess and adored by everyone. Tetteh is a HUGE animal lover, and takes up every opportunity to spend time with family and friends who have animals (particularly dogs!). We are both very responsible people who do not smoke, are outgoing and trustworthy, and happy to ensure all steps are taken to ensure your animals and property are adequately cared for. If we are chosen as house sitters for your property, we can guarantee your home and animals will be in very safe and capable hands. We are both extremely approachable, pro-active and respectful individuals who understand the trust that goes into allowing others to stay in your property and care for your loved ones. Hi there, We are a professional couple (both Deputy Principals) with 2 young children (9yrs and 6yrs). We are active, love the outdoors and love animals. We are happy to look after any pets. Our youngest child is very gentle with pets, as is our eldest who is very used to animals. She likes to help us feed, wash and take care of them, and where appropriate, take them for walks. Rochelle was brought up on a farm and is comfortable with livestock and farm dogs. We have had pets before, including 2 Shih Tzu dogs, which we bred from for a number of years, so are used to dogs of all ages. We are also equally comfortable looking after cats. We maintain a clean and tidy household and will respect any property that we are in. We will take great care of your home and love your pets like our own. In my most recent housesits in New Zealand, I used my experience of growing up with animals and my pet-loving and caring nature to support owners to feel at ease whilst they were away on their holiday. I am a strong relationship builder and communicator and am able to quickly build rapport with you and your pets. I value building an encouraging, positive and friendly environment with everyone I meet. An example of this is when I recently housesat in Wellington and looked after several chickens. As I do not eat eggs, I quickly made friends with some neighbours by sharing them so they did not go to waste. Alfie the dog and I were soon invited along for evening walks and morning coffees. I always make sure to send you regular photos of your pets having fun and being cared for as I know you’ll be worrying about and missing them. With my years of staying in housesitting, houseshares and living in tiny homes, I pride myself on keeping a clean home. An example of this is organising myself with a weekly cleaning rota where I split the tasks up over the week to break down the tasks and keep on top. I am also a keen gardener, growing vegetables and flowers from seed to table and caring for a variety of cacti and houseplants. I am happy to keep on top of watering and garden maintenance for you as required. I am enthusiastic, committed and dynamic and my experience in international travel, housesitting, owning and caring for dogs, goats, cows, chickens, cats and bees have gained me the skills and confidence to housesit for your beloved pets and home.
