We are a semi-retired couple who like to take breaks away from our busy life in Raglan. I have various volunteer roles here, plus grandchildren, and Robin is a trauma therapist working from home - he retired from a medical career in 2020. We have used house sitters for our own home when we used to travel overseas for work and appreciated the security it gave us while we were away, knowing that our home and pets would be lovingly cared for. We would be very happy to provide this for other people. We are both very clean and tidy - we take pride in having a lovely comfortable home. My husband is also very handy (he also has an engineering background which helps here) and can usually fix almost anything! I love to cook, and enjoy gardening, walking and exploring new places. We also enjoy reading and various crafts. We have a cat, and three chickens at the moment. We have had a dog in the past (a beautiful border collie) but he passed away some time ago and because we were travelling a fair bit at that time we haven't got another dog.

Steve and I have been married for almost 42 years and are semi-retired parents and grandparents. We are young at heart and enjoy spending time with our family, grandchildren, and friends. Steve is a part time IT contractor and often works from home. I also work part time, as a self employed private house cleaner. In the past we have owned a small lifestyle block on which we ran dry stock, raised calves, tendered to our chickens. Our black Labrador, Luke enjoyed farm life along with his pal Smoky our cat which out lived him by reaching the grand age of 18. Presently we are pet free due to a clause we have in a crosslease agreement forbidding animals. However we frequently look after our daughters family dog Mia an anxious Labradoodle and a frisky cat called Misty. We have had positive feedback from homeowners as we have kept gardens tidy and get satisfaction from leaving a home cleaner than when we arrived. We are an active, fit, retired couple who, because we live in the city have no pets of our own. I am farm raised and have worked with animals all my life until I retired. In the past I have bred Boxers. We are both experienced sitters and have been looking after the pets of others for several years. We have spent a month in UK doing two successful 10-day dog sits for both of which we received 5-star reviews. We have also done several pet sits in Australia and New Zealand. In the summer immediately preceeding Covid we travelled in the South Island for 3 months and pet sat in several locations during that time, getting to know various areas and meeting the locals. Hi there, Thanks for your time. My name is Stephen and I'm a mature, quiet, well adjusted person in his 60's whom loves cats, dogs and most other animals. My sister and I sold our family home in Auckland and decided to 'take a break' from it all and she suggested we try house-sitting. I see this as a win-win for all parties involved, especially the pets as they get to be looked after and cared for in their own home. I love helping owners relax when they go away, providing them with peace of mind knowing that all is well with their loved ones and home. Massimo, my Staffordshire Bull Terrier of 13 years past away in November 2015 (see photo in my profile) and I miss him dearly. This is also a great way of getting my regular 'pet fix' and enjoying a variety of new canine/ feline friends. As a keen photographer, I am also looking forward to exploring and taking some great shots of the local areas. I also love photographing pets whilst they're relaxed at home, so leave me a USB drive and there should be some nice portraits waiting on your return! For the last 20 years I've been working in the support side of Information Technology and will be using this time to research a new career in Organisational Development. This means I will be there for pets that are used to constant companionship as I have my own PC and will spend a fair amount of time on the internet doing this and other leisure activities. Having also owned my own home, I've had cats and/ or dogs for most of my life and will care and cherish yours as if they were my own and I know what it means to take care of and run a household. My sister Sarah is also a sitter with The Housesitting Company and is also doing some sitting through this organisation and we plan to over-lap our schedules so it is highly likely that she will be staying with me at times. You can rest assured that I will treat your home and privacy with care and respect and that your home will as be clean and tidy as you left it. I am a 77 year old ex-South African. Retired but still doing some consulting, remotely. Full driver's licence. I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. Hello my name is Dave! I am a very healthy and fit retired builder/joiner. For 30 years I ran my own building and joinery company. I have been living in Australia and have recently returned as the heat was too much for me! My lovely wife passed away a few years ago after 47 years of marriage. As I am on my own I feel housesitting would be a wonderful way for me to meet new people and see a little bit of New Zealand. I am a young and active senior who retired at Christmas 2021, I had worked with Ontario's largest Children's Mental Health Agency for 18 years. I am a non smoker and tea total (well coffee addict). I arrived in back NZ early 2022 after spending 19 years in Canada. My husband passed away in 2021. Quite the battle to get into MIQ to return home, with the lotto draw they installed !!! I house sat before leaving for Canada in Omokoroa and Mount Maunganui. One was an Avocado Orchard and they had 70 Parrots in aviaries on the property, such fun. I have been the proud owner of 5 rescue Old English Sheepdogs.. not all at the same time !!!! so I know about grooming. My last dog Boomer was 116lbs, (52.5kg) a big strong boy and the light of our lives. In 2020 we started to foster dogs brought up from Texas from the "high kill" pounds. Copper was our first, A Walker Coon Hound... never heard of them before and what a delight with his howl. I will leave your home as you left it though I do enjoy gardening and cleaning windows... My hobbies are reading, walking, knitting and TV..... I am a friendly person. get on with most people, I am the listener not the talker... I grew up in UK, came to NZ and then followed my son to Canada. Just went for a holiday and met my husband, tore up my ticket and stayed put for 19 years....... I consider NZ home..... I'm generally adventurous, I grew up as a farmer's daughter, so I appreciate animals and the environment. I have two adult children, one nearby in New Plymouth and the other in Australia. I recently returned from Australia where I had one house-sitting position and three woofing placements. My main past times are gardening, riding my electric bike, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the years I've had numerous significant pets. My first was a calf that I cared for and trained. Because of my fondness for her, my Father kept her until I was seventeen when I went to the Waikato to qualify as a Nurse. Another pet I was particularly fond of was a canary, which sang beautifully and I called him Gusto. Unfortunately, he died during covid. More recently I had a stray cat that determinedly made herself home with me. Pets are great companions and I appreciate them very much. I began house-sitting before retirement, and have cared for cats and dogs, plus a few sheep and a donkey. These situations have been for family, friends, and acquaintances for periods of almost a week to a month.

He is very active and we walk twice a day. I volunteered for the Golden Retriever rescue for 6 years interviewing adopters, walking the goldens, and picking up very frightened goldens from shelters to bring into our rescue. I have always had a cat, the one before our 10 yr old Ricky was 19 when he passed on. I also grew up with chooks. I am a competent horse rider and will consider looking after most animals. Hi my name is Jack and I'm looking for house sitting arrangements as part of a way to explore this country. Im a keen and active rugby player in England and I have worked and saved hard to travel to New Zealand for your summer. I work in a dog friendly hotel in many high responsibility roles such as, office work, resident management, general maintenance of rooms and gardening, barman and management of deliveries. A 'jack' of all trades, no pun intended! In these positions, personal hygiene is a must and something i personally take pride in. As we are a dog friendly hotel, even when I am at work I am still providing and caring for dogs. At home I take care of 3 dogs, a young puppy a middle child and a senior dog who requires extra attention. she takes regular medication which I administer and monitor. she recently had a large swelling in her face, a cyst of sorts which meant the use of other specialist antibiotics and ointments had to be used. Growing up I have never been without dogs and have lots of experience taking care of them. I am very active with them with regular walks. Mark and I are professionals who enjoy connecting with people, love nature (both flora and fauna) and who like to travel and explore. I’m a retired pet lover but because I often go to Auckland to visit family I can’t have a pet of my own. Because I am often in Auckland I could possibly be available for in person interviews for Auckland sits. I grew up in Auckland but have lived in Opotiki for 18 years and love it here. I don’t live in the township but in the very small beach suburb of Tirohanga, only one house back from the beach. There are 30 houses/baches and about half of them are holiday homes. Of the other half at least 40% are occupied by retired people. Lots of them have pets and I fill my animal craving by frequently visiting them. I’m even lucky enough to have a nearly daily visit from my neighbours cat, “Smoke” I can’t see the beach but at night I can hear the waves crashing. I’m physically fit and as I live near a beautiful beach I walk on the beach or cycle track daily. I do 20 to 40 minutes with the occasional 60 minutes thrown in for good luck. I love to read and play board or card games, especially word games. I’m enjoying my retirement but feel like I need to stretch myself a little and house sitting will do that. I’m a gregarious but also very happy with my own company as long as I have a book to read! I’m definitely conscious and reliable as my references will concur. For the past 10 years, I've been a healthcare assistance at a number of retirement villages in the Wellington region. While not working, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, going for bush walks and reading a good novel. Cam and I(Meg) are long term renters and through working seasonally we have lived in multiple peoples personal homes (i.e. not strictly rental properties) while they have relocated elsewhere for the respective season. Through these living arrangements we have felt fortunate to have a close relationship with the homeowners, which for us, creates a deeper respect of the property and the things living on it (some previous examples include many plants and a cat). As a house sitter you can expect us to care for your space like it is our own, to the standards you expect. If you have animals or plant friends that need to be cared for you can trust that they will be in good hands. I am a very fit and active retiree. I left the workforce eight years ago to travel to various parts of the world, including some of NZ which I hadn’t yet been to. I have been involved in sport all my life and interested in organics and sustainabilities for many years, so decided to become a Woofer (Willing Worker On Organic Farms). I have thoroughly enjoyed all my placements in NZ, Australia, USA and Portugal. I have visited places and met people that I would never had the chance as a tourist and learnt about growing fruits, vegetables and raising animals in an totally organic and sustainable manner. I have looked after many animals and learnt how to give back to the land for future harvests. Six years ago in 2018 I bought a lifestyle property in the Far North, so have not been able to travel as much, or house sit as I used to, while working hard on my land. Now however I have more spare time, & look forward to being able to travel in NZ. I currently work on my orchard of 100+ trees of every description imaginable, & 4 large vegetable plots. I farm totally organically, eat in season, & am self sufficient(++) with fruit, vegetables & eggs from my 5 chickens. I am able to swap my excesses for milk, meat, cheese & bread! I feel very fortunate. I also have extra acreage which I use for growing grass, (local farmer makes hay in summer). I have also done two caminos (long walks) in both France, and Portugal into Spain. These were 750 and 700km respectively, in 2014 & 2017. My most recent was from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. I have been a proud homeowner since 1980. As a house sitter, you will have someone with old fashion values of care & respect for your property, a good work ethic, totally reliable & honest. As for pets, when my children were growing up, we had a Staffordshire bull terrier, rabbits, cats, cockatiel and baby goats. Currently I have 5 chickens. While woofing I have looked after lots of dogs, cats, goats (learnt to milk), chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, and loved all those times. My woofing hosts would sometimes leave me to house sit at weekends, or in one case, for 10 days when an unavoidable event happened. On that occasion I looked after a small farmlet of goats, cows chickens, vegetable garden, orchard....the entire property. I loved the challenge and was totally equal to the task of overall management. I love outdoors work. Obviously I enjoy walking, so dogs love me for their twice daily long walks. Both David and I grew up in cities, he in Illinois and me in Massachusetts. We met in the US Navy. David and I retired as Lieutenant Commanders from the United States Navy in 1994. Our duty stations have included Adak, Alaska; Norfolk, Virginia, Pensacola, Florida; and Honolulu, Hawaii. After retiring, I started and taught a Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Class at a Hawaii High School. We then moved to Billings, Montana, where we lived from 1996 to 2001. When our youngest of two children graduated from high school, we moved to rural Montana and built a log home, where we have lived since 2001. We have1 dog (miniature poodle), and numerous outdoor cats. I have also had birds (cockatiel, parakeet, finch & canary), guinea pigs and fish as pets. David also has a knowledge of beef cattle, goats, ducks, and chickens. My hobbies include vegetable gardening, bird watching, and needlework. David's main hobby is wood working. He works part time as a ranch hand and does odd jobs such as carpentry, plumbing and repairs. He has worked at farming for local ranches and has knowledge and can repair most farm machinery. We both spent 12 years as members of the local volunteer fire department, he as chief, and me as secretary treasurer. I also ran the weekly senior meal program in our small community for 17 years. Our son is a resident of New Zealand who met his New Zealand wife in Osan Korea. They live in Dunedin where he works at the University of Otago, and she is a teacher at a local school. This will be our fifth visit to New Zealand, and we have seen a lot of the country in the previous 3 visits. My sons' children are 20, 18, and 16. They live at the University. We would love to take care of your pets and home while you are away and while we are in NZ visiting my son and his family. We arrive the end of January 11, 2025 and will leave March 2, 2025. We have travelled internationally for both business and family overseas, as well as extensively throughout New Zealand, and having lived long spells in Wellington, Auckland and now retired to Bay of Plenty. With the family overseas, often our time away has been for up to 3 months, and on those occasions we have had friends and others staying at our home. We know how you are feeling making this commitment. We have been long term dog and cat owners, and currently regularly play house parents to a friend's dog. Walking and appropriate exercise is not a problem. Other friends also call on us to house sit and mind their precious moggy, often for longer periods. With golf being a sport that we both enjoy, the opportunity to play courses in your region is an added appeal for house sitting. but also assures you that we are fit and able to walk as far as your pets need. Warm greetings, my name is Kirsty and I am wife to Richard and Mum to two lovely daughters who are 9 and 5. We are ex Aucklanders who moved to Wanganui in 2019. I am a full time Mum (with a background in Event Management), my husband owns his own building company. We are a Christian family who love music, theatre, nature/outdoors, singing, reading, animals and travelling. Our reasons for wanting to house sit are two fold. 1) For opportunities to stay in Auckland for longer term visits to see our family who we really miss and 2) We absolutely love exploring our beautiful country, but as living costs increase it's becoming harder and harder to have holidays away. We usually stay in air bnbs, but house sitting would help us out immensely. We are home owners in Wanganui and we have also extensively used air bnbs to take our girls on mini breaks away. All our reviews from staying in different homes have been A+. We also personally keep a very tidy, organised, clean home in Wanganui. Although we don't own a lot of pets (currently two cats), we love animals! We are very caring by nature and very frequently visit friends farms in Wanganui who have a wide range of pets/farm animals which our girls love to experience. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. Our girls are also very respectful and tidy and absolutely love nothing more than 'playing house' when we go on holiday. I believe this would be replicated if we were to house sit. In July we are returning after 5 years working in Bangkok at an international school. Before we left NZ we sold our home and did 3 house sits before leaving the country. They all went very well. Upon arriving back we will be house sitting, with current bookings, from mid-July until early January. From that point on we are looking to add future house sits. Allan: retired teacher, and Jenny: retired pharmacist and administrator. We are an active retired couple, reliable and trustworthy, involved with several of our local community groups and activities. We lived and worked in Christchurch for 22 years, before moving to Papamoa 9 years ago. We have owned our own home for most of our 49 years of marriage, and have always taken pride in keeping both house and garden tidy and well maintained. We are genuine animal lovers and have had our own pets, mostly dogs, for all of that time. As our sons were growing up, our household pets also included a cockatiel, a black-hooded rat, and 2 goldfish! We have also frequently looked after a neighbour's diabetic cat, including giving daily insulin injections. As we are retired, we have more time to devote to your pets and your home. After our last elderly dog passed away 7 years ago, we really missed having a dog in our home, so became approved volunteer puppy boarders for Blind/Low Vision puppies, and are still enjoying providing this service. Allan's parents were dairy farmers, and he loved farm life. He is an enthusiastic golfer and gardener, a Justice of the Peace, and volunteers for the Papamoa Community patrol. Jenny is also a keen gardener, enjoys both an exercise/social group and a craft group, volunteers regularly at Good Neighbour Food Rescue, and loves being involved with a Music and Movement group for preschoolers and their Mums. We both belong to Probus, and are also rostered on for several roles at our church. As we have friends and family in Christchurch and various parts of the North Island, we are excited about the prospect of house sitting when we travel to those areas, as well as when we explore new areas that we haven't yet been to. Hi My name is Susan. I am an Aucklander and I love to travel when I can. I grew up always having cats and dogs as part of the family. When I was married and we bought our first house, having pets was a top priority. After 3 years we had 3 cats (Tabby, Tina and Kate) and 2 Beagles (Tony and Lucy). I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. I no longer have pets of my own so I would really love the opportunity to care for yours, either outside of Auckland when I ready for a break or in Auckland for a 'staycation' I am mature, responsible, respectful and resourceful. Hello House and Pet Owner. I am a recently retired lady who has plenty time now to care for your home and pets. Growing up on a dairy farm saw me having cats, dogs, chickens, cows, a horse, alpacas. Recently my 15 coloured sheep and their new lambs have been sold. Caring for others (humans and animals) is what I do best.. Until his recent death I cared for my 86 yr old family friend who had health problems. This enabled him to remain living in his own home. I supported him with his pet dog care, shopping, finances, house work, gardening and companionship for the last 10 years on a regular basis. I’m a tidy, quiet, non drinker, non smoker vegan and very reliable. Hobbies are reading, walking, cycling, travel and gardening. Family is important to me so I like visiting my 4 siblings and my 4 children. I have my own car and drivers licence so should your pet become ill during your absence I can easily take them to your designated Vet for treatment. Aside from 15 years as a dairy farmer and 20 years as a landlord my working life has included responsible professional roles of legal secretary and banking consultant which are proof of my high degree of honesty, integrity and excellent communication. Kia ora, we are Rosie and Taz. We have lived in New Zealand since winter of 2022 and have been professionally housesitting for the last 18 months. Rosie's father is from NZ and Taz has extended family who emigrated here many years ago. We plan to make our long term home in New Zealand. We also have lots of experience housesitting for friends and family be it an overnight stay or multiple weeks of sitting. We started housesitting as an option from living and travelling in our van around NZ but now have our own home in rural Kerikeri. We see housesitting as a great opportunity to explore NZ further and make some lovely furry friends along the way! We both work within landscaping and gardening. Taz has also worked as a builder and enjoys working on small building projects. Rosie has a Fine Art degree which she now uses to help inform her practice which is based mostly in upcycling textile waste and other materials. Between us we have a combined 14 years of experience within Festivals and Events which we have started to transition out of now we have our own home. Needless to say it made us both adaptable and resilient! A calm and collected approach to all challenges was needed - we carry that energy with us in all that we do. We find bonding with animals is often very easy and natural. In our personal lives we have cared for many dogs and cats in houseshares in the UK (where we lived previously) including rescuing and raising a GSD mix at 9 months old (Hank) between 4 friends. Hank is now 10 and thriving! We understand housesit-ees with rescue pets may have more concerns due to their pets rescue 'quirks' but want them to know we are very familiar with this territory. Patience and consistency are so important and we are happy to take on the routines needed so your pet is at their best while you are gone. We are a couple in our late 20s and early 30s living in Wellington. We love housesitting because it combines two of the things we both really love; travelling and pets. Due to our current migratory situation we do not have pets and house sitting is a way we can enjoy the company of animals and explore new suburbs. We have both had dogs and cats in the past. Nachi has also volunteered with the SPCA where she looked after chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs amongst others. She also attended a farm school and has experience caring for farm animals. We believe that animals are part of the family and will go above and beyond to ensure they are well looked after and don't miss their human family too much while you are away. We have been housesitting since June 2021 and have become the biggest fans of it. We love being able to meet and spend time with many different fur-friends. We are the lucky ones. We get to travel, explore new places, meet new people and look after your pets. My husband Steve and I have 4 grown up daughters, and 3 delightful grandchildren. We have worked hard in our lives, and our time to explore, travel and see our beautiful country is now. We have both been brought up on Dairy and Sheep/Beef farms. We have a small lifestyle block (12 acres) near Taupo where one of our adult children lives. We are very experienced with animals and currently have on our farm, horses, cows, a dog, chickens and a couple of cats. We have previously had beef steers and sheep, including lambing. We have a deep love of animals and both Steve and I are active relaxers, which means your dogs will get loads of walking, activities and cuddles while you are away. We are confident with large animals and will not hesitate to phone a vet in any circumstance. We will love and care for your animals (slightly obsessed with them), so you can go and enjoy travelling of your own. We are very tidy and will take great care of your home. We consider ourselves active "young at heart" retirees and because we love all animals we have chosen to become house sitters. We have had the pleasure of other sitters minding our home and would consider it a privilege to take care of someone else's home and beloved pets. My old cat required a daily diabetes injection and regular blood sugar tests so I am happy to carry out this if required. I love gardening so am happy to do any required. We will care for the owner's home as we would our own. My previous husband was a farmer and so I had many years of caring for a variety of animals, eg lambs, calves, horses, pigs etc. Peter and I will be very happy to be in a country area and care for the family's animals as needed.

Kia ora :) Antoine is from France and Pauline from Belgium, we have been in New Zealand respectively 3 and 10 years. Pauline studies full time in auckland so is bound to the city during school term. Antoine remotely works for a company based in Dunedin. Antoine's flexibility for work means he can travel around a bit. We currently live in Warkworth. Depending on the place and time, we could both be house siting or just one of us, eg auckland only for Pauline during school term. Have looked after neighbours pets, but travelled the few kilometres from own home daily. Over the last forty years have had own cats and foxies, and on average six farm working dogs yearly and many litters of pups. A conscientious person who understands the needs of animals, especially family pets. I have many interests (Grandchildren are number one) and currently it is mainly sport, I watch netball and rugby, but play golf, tennis, bowls and swim. I also walk and like to read. Good morning/afternoon, I am a French 24-year-old guy, I was a civil engineer in France before coming to New Zealand - I arrived 3 months ago. I have been living in a proper flat with one kiwi flatmate for 2 months now. I want to visit New Zealand until mid-April, and then I will be looking for a job in Auckland. She is really (really) kind, friendly but also serious and tidy. She speaks better English than I do, as she arrived in the country 10 months ago. Furthermore, she is very familiar with NZ culture, landscapes, fauna and flora as she has been planning this trip for 4 years. Her job is a freelance graphic designer, so she is used to remote working. She has been a house sitter several times. She has also done some couch-surfing many times with good reviews. The main reason being that we are animal lovers and Lesley especially is feeling pet deprived at the moment since having to put down our most adored cat Ginger 18 months ago. We have taken the decision not to replace him at for the moment so she has become that annoying person that has to pet everybody's dog on the beach and talk to every cat in the street! Kia Ora! We’re Emma and Elias, twins on tour through New Zealand with a working holiday visa, eager to explore the country and its people. Whilst looking for an accommodation we’ve stumbled upon house/pet sitting, which seemed perfect to us both. Both of us adore pets and animals in general and even though we only have fish at home;), both of us have plenty of experience, especially with dogs. I, Emma, did a school exchange in 2020 and lived in a family with 3 dogs (a husky and 2 adopted strays). I took care of them every day of the year, taking all three of them on long walks through the beautiful nature of Andalusia and still, almost three years later, I miss them dearly. I also made a habit out of going to the local Dog-Rescue-Center, taking little pups without a home on walks along the beach. I, Elias, have a close friend with 3 young australian shepherds. Back in Germany I joined them for a walk every day over the last year and cared for them whenever the family was away. I’ve helped educating them since the age of 12 weeks and went through all stages of adolescence with the little rascals. All three of them have a special place in my heart and they will be my first stop when this travel experience comes to an end. Even though both of us have more experience taking care of dogs, we have helped friends and family with cats whenever we had the chance to. If you choose us as sitters you can expect two young, responsible adults to take care of both your home and your animal/s with lots of love and passion. Also, we bring plenty of time with us due to us not working at all or only working part time! That means we are very flexible and can always prioritize your pet/s. Retirees available to care for your home and pets anywhere in New Zealand as their own. We have always had pets mainly cats, dogs and a few chooks in our lives from childhood. Since marriage we have always owned cats and dogs, firstly Asti and Loti, two Burmese cats, then a tabby rescue cat who was very shy but she loved our Black Lab Joey, they were great mates. After both passed away our younger son came home with Lucy a rescue dog who was found in a cat cage in a wardrobe. Lucy can home dressed in dolls cloths and was so small she could sit on my knees. We tried to socialise her with other dogs without success but Lucy was a faithful companion who we walked at night to give her the space she needed to not become stressed around other dogs. Our children have their own families and our sons both have dogs, Ash, a Staffy and Poppy, a Labradoodle, totally different dogs. Ash is always so excited to see us and has to receive a cuddly and then settles down whereas Poppy is more laid back, come to see us but not as excited. We are living with Poppy at the moment and walk her most days. Our daughter has a Burmese cat who always sits on Janice knee at night, but she does the sitting, if you pick her up she takes a while to settle. I have two friends one with an old LabX Sammie and the other a Border Collie, Lockie who we both have a lot of contact with. Sammie, we have looked after at both his home and ours many times. In our professional life, Brian was an ideals person designing many electronics products, and I was the administration and finance person for companies we owned over our working life. We raised three children and have 5 grandchildren living in Auckland and Wellington. Our home is in Auckland but we spend a lot of time between both cities. We are always on the go, helping in the community, renovating family homes, out tramping, yachting, cycling, skiing, travelling and spending time with our grandchildren. Brian can turn his hand to most things in the home and garden but does know his limits and will call in professionals if need be. I am a cook, cleaner and gardener who loves to talk to humans and animals. We are both members of Rotary and like contributing to our community and Janice is a volunteer at the Community Op Shop and SPACE (a program for first time parents) and both Brian and Janice volunteer at Kai Tahi (eat together) community meals, and an twice yearly e-waste collection. We are doers, both physically fit, non-smokers and enjoy life. We are enjoying travelling NZ, house and pet sitting gives us the opportunity to get see the country whilst fulfilling our dream of seeing as many regions and cities as possible. Both non smokers, enjoy clean living with clean criminal international and local records. We met in Malaysia while working as volunteers with cats and dogs for SPCA in early 2015. After that we did a period of volunteers with tigers in Thailand. Highlight of our lives. Great experience to be so close and intimate with a wild animals. Few scars but lived to tell all the tales. After we worked with them, cats and dogs are so easy. Next, hoping to spend some time with elephants. We have done home sitting in NZ as well as offshore in Europe and China as well as a 4 week stay in Malaysia. Although we like to travel, live clean and appreciate clean houses so your home will be looked after. Although not fantastic green fingers, we will happily mow your grass and pull a few weeds as required. As we both still work part time, appreciate wi-fi so we can still receive emails etc. Sky is not important cause we rather be outside enjoying open air as against watching TV. Also since 2017, a volunteer firefighter originally with Otorohanga but would consider helping any local volunteer brigade. Rem has in the past also looked after NZ Police dogs while their handler has gone on holiday so the average dog should be relatively easy. Happy to walk the dogs and where possible, take them to the beach if possible. Hopefully have secure parking for the BMW as well? Since Feb 2017 we have lived in Otorohanga and have looked after various local and surrounding properties. A 550 acre grazing farm and a very upmarket lifestyle house. Although it’s been fun here, we are ready for another area from now on. Long term housesits preferred but will consider short options as well. Yuling now lives in Wellington full time while Rem commutes.

We cared for a huge variety of pets and homes across New Zealand during this time both through this site and private referals. We have always had excellent reviews which we are happy to share. In 2023 we purchased our own home and took a break from sitting through official sites (private networks only). Now in 2024 we are available for longer-term sits again while our home undergoes renovations. We are excited to especially to enjoy some time with pets and explore some new places again. We missed it! We are clean and tidy - Jamie finds cleaning his relaxing happy place - and quiet sorts that like a good book in the evening. Holly has green thumbs and is more than happy to look after any veggie patch or compost heap needing some care. For the pet parents: we are animal lovers. We grew up with pets and can provide references from the home and pet owners we've helped. We are no stranger to dogs and cats needing a bit of extra care, special diets, or who are a bit older. We are more than happy to take a slower walk and pop some arthritis medicine in food if needed! We have cared for all personalities, from super shy kitties like (recently rescued) Archie (1) and Nemo (4), to big attitude, feline fluff balls like Oscar (10) and Early (10) and older chill cats like Mishka (24). When it comes to pups we have cared for every shape and size from the big boys and girls - Suzie (9 year old Greyhound-Huntaway Cross), Ngaio (12 year old Labrador), Fergie (12 year old German Shepard) and Lila and Otis (15 year old Boxers) - to smaller pups like Lochie (2 year old Schnauzer-Welsh Terrier), Teddy (16 year old Shih Tzu) and big energy, little puppy Moss (under 1 Australian Terrier) who we cared for a lot throughout 2023. We don't have much experience beyond cats, dogs and chickens (have owned and looked after these too) but are happy to get to know your llamas or other exciting furry family members. I, Caroline Mundy, is a recently retired Civil/Structural engineer. I was born and raised in Malaysia, but went to Britain for my tertiary studies. I graduated from Cardiff University with an honours degree in Civil and Structural Engineering and later gained a Masters degree in the same subject at Sheffield University. I am married to Chris Mundy, an editor at NZQA, Wellington. Chris and I grew up with pets in our families, and from this we gained a life-long love of animals. Over the years, we have had many different animals as pets, including a sheep which eventually died of old age!, a golden retriever, a duckling, rabbits, a weta and doves, all of which were much loved by us and our two children. We also adopted the school's cockatoo and axolotl during school holidays. We took our friend's cat to be with our family whilst they worked overseas. Sadly, our adorable all white cat named Pearl has passed away and we no longer have any pets. So, it would be really lovely to be able to look after someone else's pets. As we no longer have children living with us, we have more freedom to explore and travel to new places, which we both love doing. It also enables us to take a break from our rather busy lives by housesitting every now and then. Having pets with our accommodation is an added bonus to us. We are responsible and respectful people who want to help other families have peace of mind whilst they are away. I am a well organised & respectful person & very reliable/trusting after 31 years in the international banking & finance industry & private consultancy space. I am now working on a NZ Government (MFAT) international aid & development programme since November 2020 that covers 12 countries across the Pacific. I lived & travelled overseas for almost 20 years & returned to NZ in mid 2020 during the midst of Covid & am now double vaccinated & double boosted as well. I have the utmost integrity while maintaining a solid moral compass & set of values. I am also an avid & long-term part time student & I am in the throes of completing my PhD qualification by 2024. I/we are interested in house sitting because I love travel & visiting new places after having travelled & worked overseas in many countries since the mid 1990s. I have house sat for many personal friends & work colleagues in the past including pet minding including a few housesitting assignments with the Housesitting Company now under my belt ranging from 10 days up to 6 weeks (which I am undertaking as I write this). The range of animals is also extensive & has included dogs, cats, goats & even kuni kuni pigs while I have also been charged with administering medicine. We have a flexible timeline and a vehicle. ...a little about us. I am a NZ'er and a retired educator. Peter is canadian and a retired computer engineer. Our home base is on a small island in western Canada. We are homeowners and fully understand the housesitting social contract and responsibilities. We currently have trustworthy housesitters in our home while we are away. Peter and I, make a great housesitting team. I take the lead with the animal and home care, Peter supports me by playing with the pets and cuddle time. He also leads our dog walking explorations into nature. As our three children grew, our home was full of much loved animals. We had two family cats and two family dogs. Oliver, the cat was much loved in the neighbourhood. During the day he would sit by the gate, greet people, and beg for a pat. During the evening, when he was not snuggled up next to the dog, or swatting her tail, he would find a lap and stay there purring. He stayed in our family for 20 years. Lassie, a border collie/lab/husky cross is perhaps the most acclaimed of all our family pets. Our children still talk of her with great love. We adopted her when she was two years old. She 'heeled' with the click of a finger and kept guard over our children when they were young. She was the most amazing and lovable dog - her photo has an honoured place in our home. In the past, we have cared for cats, dogs, sheep, pigs, bees, chickens, ducks, fischers parrot, rabbits, and hamsters. The key in caring for pets is to have established expectations: food and exercise routines/cuddle times and ensure that animals have ample fresh water everyday. We love all animals and plants and can turn my hand to most tasks involved in caring for them. Also, I might add that I enjoy exploring regenerative agriculture concepts. I am a founding director of School Orchards Africa Society, in Tanzania. Having built our home and hobby farm, Peter is familiar with most house systems, on and off grid. He is a good guitar player. We're very experienced, never pulled out of a sit, and have great references and police checks available so you can have confidence that you're in good hands. We've looked after various property types before, anything from multi-story homes with gardens and pools, apartments or a secluded colonial era bed and breakfast, all the way to rural lifestyle blocks with farm animals and living partially off grid. Since returning to NZ our speciality has certainly been rural lifestyle blocks as we love the peace and quiet of the countryside and exploring nature. We're extremely well organised, tidy, honest, flexible and caring. You can expect to return to your home as clean as you left it, if not cleaner, and with very happy pets. We've never pulled out of a sit as we're extremely reliable and the last thing we'd want is for you to have an issue because of us before you go on holiday. Experienced in garden and lawn care, spa and pool maintenance, rain and bore water tank system monitoring, ant prevention and setting pest control traps. As previous homeowners, we have enough common sense to know when to tackle any maintenance issues which may arise and when to request advice. We're also happy to do turnover service if you operate an active Air BnB on your property. We'll require a reliable unlimited internet connection (as we work remotely) and off street parking for our car. As non-smokers we're not interested in any sits where you normally smoke/vape indoors.

I, Adam, grew up on a lifestyle farm on the countryside, where I had the chance of playing with and taking care of many types of animals mainly cats, dogs, chickens, ducks and pigs.
