We have recently retired after owning 12 Health Food Retail stores throughout NZ. Over the past 15 years we have lived on a 10 acre lifestyle block looking after cattle (few), sheep, and alpacas, all of which had names and were treated as pets. We have sold this property and the recent move to Blenheim has been very positive. Over the next few years we intend to travel throughout NZ tramping, biking and generally seeing every part of the country. We began housesitting last year in March 2023 as our apartment was and still is!!! undergoing major remedial renovations - ridiculous I know!!. We have thoroughly enjoyed this experience and have loved looking after houses/pets throughout Auckland. As we have enjoyed it so much - we are deciding that even/when our apartment is complete we will be continuing to make ourselves available to housesit. So a little about us: We are a professional couple in their 50's. We are both working full-time in Auckland, but Craig does shift work so there is a lot of time that he is home when I am at work and vice versa. Prior to moving into our apartment we had both cats and dogs as our pets and these were brought up with our three kids, and we have loved interaction with animals that we have been lucky enough to get to know over the last year. If we can assist you by providing safe secure environment for your pets whilst you are not there, we would be delighted to do so. We always treat the home as if it is ours and respect the rules of the house and how you want our interaction with your house and animals to go. I (Julie) am a 5th generation Aucklander and I grew up with two dogs (lab X & mastiff/ridgeback X), four cats, budgies, chickens and even looked after our uncles pet pig! There was always a cat or two on your lap at home, with a dog asleep on your foot, a budgie on the shoulder. I love the fact that we are able to introduce our grandkids to how to treat well with animals and see them grow to love them as we do. Craig (6th generation +) hails from Wellington and now an Aucklander. He has been employed in a senior management role in the government for over 20 years here in Auckland (so I have told him that makes him an Aucklander - but he is apparently only an Aucklander, when Auckland wins in sport!)- and was brought up with smaller dogs (terriers & pugs) and cats. As he works shifts he is often available in the day to walk dogs/ have the cat curl up with him! As stated both of us are full-time workers and have a deep love of animals, therefore, we are motivated and keen to be your sitters.

I've recently completed 69x Housesits since November 2022 in Grafton, Mt Eden, Mt Albert, Kohimarama, Glendowie, Bucklands Beach, Howick, Botany, Pakuranga, Stonefields, Flat Bush, Titirangi, New Windsor, Onehunga, Remuera, Favona, Papatoetoe, Hillpark, The Gardens, Randwick Park, Conifer Grove, Waiata Shores/Takanini & Te Kauwhata. Housesits have been from overnight to 9wks; looking after beautiful dogs & cats (aged 17wks old to 17yrs old) with specific dietary & medication requirements (for asthma, anxiety, arthritis & Addison disease); tropical fish, pond fish & laying chickens; maintaining their homes (some with pool/spa), watering vegetable garden & plants. I've been successful to have callbacks from these for March, April, May, June & August; with new booking for March 2025. A homeowner can expect me to be very clean, tidy & respectful of ones property, as I am an ex-Commercial cleaner having worked in hotels, Auckland University & a college. Hobbies are currently watching movies, relaxing to music & meditation. I do not own any pets, however I do appreciate them & would be a great caregiver for your precious fur babies. The photos in my profile are beautiful cats, fish, chickens & dogs I looked after during my Housesits. They were very attentive, affectionate & playful. We thoroughly enjoyed each other's company. I am an African girl who grew up in a big farm with my big family of 8 people. My Farther was a teacher and a farmer. Growing up, I have been around nature and we kept animals like cows, pigs, dogs, poultry and cats have been our faithful neighbours and companions. My Husband Godwin and I met while studying in China. One of the common things we have is the passion for travelling and appreciating God's creation in diversity and the beauty around. Because of this, we decided to embark on a world tour. one trip led to another and here we are in New Zealand. By the way, ours is a story of West meeting East for he is from West Africa and I am from East Africa. My Husband enjoys cooking, playing football and gardening. He transformed my sister's dying flowers to a wonder garden. He always wowed out visitors with his Ghanian cuisines. On the other hand, there is me, who is not a fan of cooking but I enjoy cleaning. We call ourselves key and lock because we complement each other. I enjoy poetry a lot. I have written a few pieces and I hope to publish my book some day. Together, we would like to do housesitting for the purpose of saving money towards purchasing our home here in New Zealand. Also we would like to explore different parts of Auckland while giving peace of mind to people with our passion to travel while we take care of their pets and properties. OUR PROFILE We are, Ken and Sharron and we would like to house sit for you. Let us tell you a little about ourselves. Ken grew up in a seaside town in country Victoria, Australia. Ken travelled with some friends throughout Australia, then it was onto New Zealand arriving in 1977. He immediately got involved in the local Aussie Rules League. Ken has worked in various industries and is currently employed at Northpower as an Electrical asset inspector. Sharron grew up in the Waikato and has spent all her adult years in Auckland. Growing up she had all types of pets - ducks, lambs, calves, cats and small dogs. Sharron has worked in the health sector for 40+ years and has held various positions for those years, the last few have been as a medical practice manager. We have been together for 32 years and own our own home. We have a daughter and a 5-year-old granddaughter living with us. When the COVID restrictions ended at start of April they returned from Australia. We now have a new cat (Ralfie) which we all love and adore. We both enjoy the company of cats and small dogs. We are not averse to calm larger dogs. We can adapt to look after all types of pets except snakes!!!!! Ken never liked them. We both like taking long walks and Sharron has been known to walk a half marathon without any training – result, painful blisters afterwards. Sharron loves the beach, cycling and knitting in winter. I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. I am a young and active senior who retired at Christmas 2021, I had worked with Ontario's largest Children's Mental Health Agency for 18 years. I am a non smoker and tea total (well coffee addict). I arrived in back NZ early 2022 after spending 19 years in Canada. My husband passed away in 2021. Quite the battle to get into MIQ to return home, with the lotto draw they installed !!! I house sat before leaving for Canada in Omokoroa and Mount Maunganui. One was an Avocado Orchard and they had 70 Parrots in aviaries on the property, such fun. I have been the proud owner of 5 rescue Old English Sheepdogs.. not all at the same time !!!! so I know about grooming. My last dog Boomer was 116lbs, (52.5kg) a big strong boy and the light of our lives. In 2020 we started to foster dogs brought up from Texas from the "high kill" pounds. Copper was our first, A Walker Coon Hound... never heard of them before and what a delight with his howl. I will leave your home as you left it though I do enjoy gardening and cleaning windows... Having recently moved towns, I have left behind 10 garden customers, mainly older people who are no longer physically able to tend their own gardens. I have especially enjoyed all their different gardens and also getting to know them all. For 19 years I managed our 100 acre beef farm while my husband did contract work while also home educating our 4 children. I’m a retired pet lover but because I often go to Auckland to visit family I can’t have a pet of my own. Because I am often in Auckland I could possibly be available for in person interviews for Auckland sits. I grew up in Auckland but have lived in Opotiki for 18 years and love it here. I don’t live in the township but in the very small beach suburb of Tirohanga, only one house back from the beach. There are 30 houses/baches and about half of them are holiday homes. Of the other half at least 40% are occupied by retired people. Lots of them have pets and I fill my animal craving by frequently visiting them. I’m even lucky enough to have a nearly daily visit from my neighbours cat, “Smoke” I can’t see the beach but at night I can hear the waves crashing. I’m physically fit and as I live near a beautiful beach I walk on the beach or cycle track daily. I do 20 to 40 minutes with the occasional 60 minutes thrown in for good luck. I love to read and play board or card games, especially word games. I’m enjoying my retirement but feel like I need to stretch myself a little and house sitting will do that. I’m a gregarious but also very happy with my own company as long as I have a book to read! I’m definitely conscious and reliable as my references will concur. Not only that, but I get a lot of satisfaction in knowing that I’m providing a valuable community service, because the homeowners get to go away reassured that their pets are living relaxed and safe in their own homes instead of dodgy kennels and catteries, and also that their houses are being watched over and safeguarded from the crims. I have over 20 years of full-time dairy farming behind me, 14 of those years in sole charge management of dairy farms, so I’m the ideal minder for house sitting/farm sitting/relief milking combos. I have also worked with sheep, goats, and drystock cattle. On past house-sits and farm-sits I have looked after a wide variety of animal and bird life including cats, dogs, deer, cattle, sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, alpacas, rabbits, chooks, ducks, turkeys, doves, and frogs. I’m particularly fond of cats – you won’t find a better cat sitter. I’m a non-smoker and a quiet individual who is not into boozing, parties, and noise. I’m also a confessed homebody who prefers pottering around the property as opposed to galavanting about the countryside, so the homes and animals in my care are under constant watch. Clean, trustworthy, tidy, practical, adaptable, and with a good ounce of common sense, initiative and No.8 wire mindset. No task is too big or small. I bring to every house sit a professional attitude and a quiet and calming disposition that soon wins over the most timid of pets. I enjoy what I do and I take a lot of pride in my work. During my stay at your place, I will be in regular contact with updates along with photos and video clips of your pets so you can be assured they’re getting well looked after, if not a little spoiled. I cover all my own groceries, gas, and I have my own transport, complimented with a clean driver licence. Under my contents insurance I’m covered for legal liability in case of any accidental damage. In all my years of house sitting, I have never had to use that insurance. Nevertheless it’s there – for peace of mind for both parties. I also have two rental houses of my own. I thus know what it’s like to hand the keys over to other people, and trusting them to look after your property while they’re living there. My preferred locations are rural and coastal properties, though I do enjoy the occasional suburban assignment for a change. I don’t charge a cent to look after houses, pets, or lifestyle blocks. I never have and I never will. For me, house sitting is all about the lifestyle. My ‘payment’ comes in the form of free accommodation, free use of the utilities, and free access to the vegetable garden and orchard. I can’t justify charging fees on top of all that. The only times I would invoice the home owners is if I’m looking after a commercial business of theirs, such as a Bed & Breakfast, orchard, or working farm, or if I’m undertaking some ‘improvement’ projects for them, such as painting the wooden deck or planting new trees – things like that. I'm generally adventurous, I grew up as a farmer's daughter, so I appreciate animals and the environment. I have two adult children, one nearby in New Plymouth and the other in Australia. I recently returned from Australia where I had one house-sitting position and three woofing placements. My main past times are gardening, riding my electric bike, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the years I've had numerous significant pets. My first was a calf that I cared for and trained. Because of my fondness for her, my Father kept her until I was seventeen when I went to the Waikato to qualify as a Nurse. Another pet I was particularly fond of was a canary, which sang beautifully and I called him Gusto. Unfortunately, he died during covid. More recently I had a stray cat that determinedly made herself home with me. Pets are great companions and I appreciate them very much. Kia ora everyone. My name's Jenny, and I am a former Dental Nurse from Wellington who is now living and studying a double business major in Whanganui, New Zealand. Missing the company of animals while I was living in Australia, I decided to take up pet sitting, and now I know I'll continue to pet sit until I'm old and grey. I've met many beautiful pets over the years (you’ll see some of them in my pictures above) with so many colourful personalities and would love to meet your special ones too. I am a full time Mum (with a background in Event Management), my husband owns his own building company. Our reasons for wanting to house sit are two fold. 1) For opportunities to stay in Auckland for longer term visits to see our family who we really miss and 2) We absolutely love exploring our beautiful country, but as living costs increase it's becoming harder and harder to have holidays away. We usually stay in air bnbs, but house sitting would help us out immensely. We are home owners in Wanganui and we have also extensively used air bnbs to take our girls on mini breaks away. All our reviews from staying in different homes have been A+. We also personally keep a very tidy, organised, clean home in Wanganui. Although we don't own a lot of pets (currently two cats), we love animals! We are very caring by nature and very frequently visit friends farms in Wanganui who have a wide range of pets/farm animals which our girls love to experience. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. Our girls are also very respectful and tidy and absolutely love nothing more than 'playing house' when we go on holiday. I believe this would be replicated if we were to house sit. My adult children live in Auckland so like to be a bit closer while still having my own space and interests. I've always had a cat for a pet and currently own two gorgeous (if bossy!) Birman sisters. I have included a photo of Coco and Chanel as a proud parent! They are well looked after while I am away from home so would love to have a cat to stay with. My photos include some darling dogs that I look after and just love it when a dog and cat are in the same household as they can be a lot of fun together. While late middle-aged, I enjoy running and try to get a one hour jog in on alternate days. This keeps me fit enough to walk dogs as often as needed. I also enjoy knitting and cross-stich which keep me happily occupied during the day. I'm keen on gardening so very happy to looking after gardens as well as pets. My children and I lived on a 10 acre block in Waimauku for several years and cared for a variety of animals including cats, dogs, hens, sheep, cows, and the occasional rabbit and duck! Because of Geoff's years spent at sea his opportunities to care for pets have been limited, but in his younger years his family owned cats, dogs and budgies. Geoff and I spend the summer months,October through to April, in New Zealand, which is when we are available for house sitting. We have a yacht berthed in Penang, Malaysia, and we are there during New Zealand's winter months. Geoff has spent nearly 13 years cruising in South East Asia, and I joined him in 2012. Geoff is a shipwright and is capable of servicing a wide range of appliances, machinery etc.He served in the New Zealand navy for 8 years and after leaving he worked as a commercial diver whilst building his first yacht. After sailing for many years in the Pacific, Australia, Africa and Europe, he settled in Brisbane, where he set up his shipwright business. He then built his second yacht and set sail for South East Asia. My previous working life involved a variety of positions, including working as a supervisor in a childcare centre in Waimauku, Auckland, and then as a sterile services technician at North Shore hospital in Auckland. I have two sons who live in the Netherlands and Belgium, and 1 grandson. Because of our lifestyle on the yacht we are organised and tidy in our habits. We are a professional couple taking time out from work to travel and spend time with family. We are 58 and 59-years-old, have been married for 39 years and have three grown up children. We have over 15 years experience caring for and loving pets whilst their Mum and Dad are away. Over these years we have been in lots of different house/pet-sitting situations. One of our first pet sits was for a gorgeous old Collie dog who had diabetes and needed daily injections. He also had two sisters who were cats and we looked after them all for many years. We started house sitting over ten years ago as a friend had 7 cats and was travelling for five months. We have cared for these cats over many years since. During this time, we have had to give medication, visit the vet and as the years progressed look after their personal care needs much more. We have also sat for three dogs for many years; a black Labrador, Chihuahua and a Border Terrier. We are both extremely, kind, loving and practical and have ensured that pets are cared for in the same way we care for our own pets. We treat your babies the same way as we treat our own, giving them our time and immense affection and kindness. We are both at home all day so can give your pets all the attention they need. We love animals and have also spent some time helping look after pigs, hens and horses. I was a Trustee for a small city farm and my husband managed areas of the same farm. We are asked again and again to house sit because we are careful to keep your house beautiful and send regular pictures and updates of how happy your pets are. I always cook a meal for the returning home owner and replenish their fridge. My husband is extremely able around the house and land and people are happy to see their grounds kept well. I am a very fit and active retiree. I left the workforce eight years ago to travel to various parts of the world, including some of NZ which I hadn’t yet been to. I have been involved in sport all my life and interested in organics and sustainabilities for many years, so decided to become a Woofer (Willing Worker On Organic Farms). I have thoroughly enjoyed all my placements in NZ, Australia, USA and Portugal. I have visited places and met people that I would never had the chance as a tourist and learnt about growing fruits, vegetables and raising animals in an totally organic and sustainable manner. I have looked after many animals and learnt how to give back to the land for future harvests. Six years ago in 2018 I bought a lifestyle property in the Far North, so have not been able to travel as much, or house sit as I used to, while working hard on my land. Now however I have more spare time, & look forward to being able to travel in NZ. I currently work on my orchard of 100+ trees of every description imaginable, & 4 large vegetable plots. I farm totally organically, eat in season, & am self sufficient(++) with fruit, vegetables & eggs from my 5 chickens. I am able to swap my excesses for milk, meat, cheese & bread! I feel very fortunate. I also have extra acreage which I use for growing grass, (local farmer makes hay in summer). I have also done two caminos (long walks) in both France, and Portugal into Spain. These were 750 and 700km respectively, in 2014 & 2017. My most recent was from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. I have been a proud homeowner since 1980. As a house sitter, you will have someone with old fashion values of care & respect for your property, a good work ethic, totally reliable & honest. As for pets, when my children were growing up, we had a Staffordshire bull terrier, rabbits, cats, cockatiel and baby goats. Currently I have 5 chickens. While woofing I have looked after lots of dogs, cats, goats (learnt to milk), chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, and loved all those times. My woofing hosts would sometimes leave me to house sit at weekends, or in one case, for 10 days when an unavoidable event happened. On that occasion I looked after a small farmlet of goats, cows chickens, vegetable garden, orchard....the entire property. I loved the challenge and was totally equal to the task of overall management. I love outdoors work. Obviously I enjoy walking, so dogs love me for their twice daily long walks. We are just coming to the end of a few months abroad visiting friends and family after Covid and will be needing to search for jobs before putting down any permanent roots in one location. Both of us grew up in very animal-orientated households. My parents work for animal charities and so we were forever taking in strays or fostering. We each have extensive experience with cats and dogs, and would be comfortable with other animals if needed. Any homeowner could expect us to be respectful of their home and responsible with the care of their furry family members. We have a whole life in Auckland already so would treat your house with the same respect as we treat our own while we go about trying to slot back into a working routine.

I was born in Christchurch. I lived 26 yrs in NZ and now 40+ in California. I go home to NZ once or twice a year. I have just said goodby to my 15 year old Mini Pinscher that I rescued at 1yr old. He was very active and we walked twice a day. I volunteered for the Golden Retriever rescue for 6 years interviewing adopters, walking the goldens, and picking up very frightened golden's from shelters to bring into our rescue. I have always had a cat, the biggest love of them was 19 when he passed on. I have a 5 yr old rescue black cat. I also grew up with chooks. I am a competent horse rider and will consider looking after most animals. Would love to throw on my gum boots and head out to the paddock to cover a horse or move an animal to another paddock. I am a Scottish country dancer and like to walk, garden, read and knit. I am willing to go anywhere in NZ and would prefer a rural setting. Cam and I(Meg) are long term renters and through working seasonally we have lived in multiple peoples personal homes (i.e. not strictly rental properties) while they have relocated elsewhere for the respective season. Through these living arrangements we have felt fortunate to have a close relationship with the homeowners, which for us, creates a deeper respect of the property and the things living on it (some previous examples include many plants and a cat). As a house sitter you can expect us to care for your space like it is our own, to the standards you expect. If you have animals or plant friends that need to be cared for you can trust that they will be in good hands. In the past we have owned a small lifestyle block on which we ran dry stock, raised calves, tendered to our chickens. Our black Labrador, Luke enjoyed farm life along with his pal Smoky our cat which out lived him by reaching the grand age of 18. Presently we are pet free due to a clause we have in a crosslease agreement forbidding animals. My sister and I sold our family home in Auckland and decided to 'take a break' from it all and she suggested we try house-sitting. I see this as a win-win for all parties involved, especially the pets as they get to be looked after and cared for in their own home. I love helping owners relax when they go away, providing them with peace of mind knowing that all is well with their loved ones and home. Massimo, my Staffordshire Bull Terrier of 13 years past away in November 2015 (see photo in my profile) and I miss him dearly. This is also a great way of getting my regular 'pet fix' and enjoying a variety of new canine/ feline friends. As a keen photographer, I am also looking forward to exploring and taking some great shots of the local areas. I also love photographing pets whilst they're relaxed at home, so leave me a USB drive and there should be some nice portraits waiting on your return! Mick is a keen diver and loves to get out in the garden, Tracey used to be a professional cleaner so keeping a home sparkling clean is my thing - I also love mowing lawns. We both love to walk and do lengthier hikes & can be found in the mornings trying to beat each other at Wordle & Quordle. We are both people who take pride and care not only in our home (including the grounds) but any home we visit or stay in. We absolutely both respect your home is your castle, that your pets are your joy and we want you to go away knowing we will love your animals and care for them & your house (and grounds if required) so you can just relax. We are both writers, working in the tourism sector, and we met in beautiful Bali where we have been living since 1998 and 2006. We have travelled extensively in Indonesia, including trips to some of the country's remotest corners. We have been together for 15 years, we got married in New Zealand in 2021, and we are now living our dream dividing our time between Bali and New Zealand with a little bit of England and Europe thrown in along the way. We spend five months in Bali each year, one month in Europe and the UK, and six months in New Zealand from December to June. We invite guests to stay in our house in Bali and do home exchanges when we are in New Zealand and Europe, hence us looking for some more places to stay in New Zealand. We are both animal lovers, having rescued numerous cats and dogs off the streets in Bali over the many years that we have lived here. They all became much loved members of our respective households until our last cat and finally our last dog crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago. We miss them terribly but when we made the lifestyle change to divide our time between Bali and New Zealand, we made the decision not to get any more pets. However, our love and respect for animals has not diminished and that is why we look forward to looking after other people's pets. We both work from home so will be around nearly all day every day to give your animals all the love and attention they need. We are a healthy and fit couple in our late 60s (non-smokers), originally from The Netherlands, who have sold our home last year. Currently we are waiting for our new apartment in Northcote (Auckland) to be completed (expected settlement early 2025) and looking after other people’s houses has proven to be a great way to bridge that period and to have a change of scenery after we’ve moved into our new apartment. We have quite a number very successful house sits already and loved the experience. We ran a Homestay/B&B in Wellington for more than 6 years, so we are experienced with looking after accommodation and we know the importance of keeping a house clean, tidy and well presented! We have always taken pride in our house, which was very obvious when the real estate agent who sold our current house remarked that she wished everybody’s house looked like this. Jos is retired, while Lucien still works full-time as a software developer from home, so at least one of us will always be there to keep your dog company. A fast and reliable internet connection is the only ‘must’. We have had dogs and cats ourselves - Golden Retrievers for many years, and a sweet little Cavoodle for the last 12 years (who sadly passed away last year) - and we have been looking after cats, dogs, houses and the occasional chicken for months now, so we know how to care for animals, and are happy to care for yours. When you select us as your house sitters you can expect that we treat your house, belongings and pets as if hey are our own, with care, dignity and respect.

I have never been without a pet and was lucky enough to have a German Shorthaired Pointer for a little over ten years but he has sadly now passed away. When I was married and we bought our first house, having pets was a top priority. After 3 years we had 3 cats (Tabby, Tina and Kate) and 2 Beagles (Tony and Lucy). I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. I no longer have pets of my own so I would really love the opportunity to care for yours, either outside of Auckland when I ready for a break or in Auckland for a 'staycation' I am mature, responsible, respectful and resourceful. Kia ora, we are Rosie and Taz. We have lived in New Zealand since winter of 2022 and have been professionally housesitting for the last 18 months. Rosie's father is from NZ and Taz has extended family who emigrated here many years ago. We plan to make our long term home in New Zealand. We also have lots of experience housesitting for friends and family be it an overnight stay or multiple weeks of sitting. We started housesitting as an option from living and travelling in our van around NZ but now have our own home in rural Kerikeri. We find bonding with animals is often very easy and natural. In our personal lives we have cared for many dogs and cats in houseshares in the UK (where we lived previously) including rescuing and raising a GSD mix at 9 months old (Hank) between 4 friends. Hank is now 10 and thriving! We understand housesit-ees with rescue pets may have more concerns due to their pets rescue 'quirks' but want them to know we are very familiar with this territory. Patience and consistency are so important and we are happy to take on the routines needed so your pet is at their best while you are gone. I have been working in a travelling sales role all around NZ for more than 30 years... working, travelling and usually staying in motels or my time share accommodation, which tends to be a little expensive over the year. I have flexibility and can work any in area. I am normally at work daily for around 5-6 hours and home mid afternoon to do paper work etc. feed, walk animals, and prepare dinner. I own 2 houses and at present have them both rented with tenants and flatmates. So I understand the privilege of owning a house and totally respect other peoples property and their belongings. I have done a lot of housing sitting over the years and have cared for and feed many animals. Auckland for 3 months looking after dogs and cats. Farm animals or feeding chickens, which is no problem as I am a country girl at heart. I have had looked after 3 large dogs. One that required monitored medication daily and exercise. I have also had to feed unwell cats medicine etc and have no problem caring for your pets no matter what there needs. I enjoy the company of animals especially since I am away from home so much. I love all animals and especially their little characters. Whilst I am at home during the summer months, I used to host overseas students that come to NZ to learn English. I have had many students over the years, Swiss, Thai, Arabian, Japanese, Chiian, Brazilian. We are a couple in our late 20s and early 30s living in Wellington. We love housesitting because it combines two of the things we both really love; travelling and pets. Due to our current migratory situation we do not have pets and house sitting is a way we can enjoy the company of animals and explore new suburbs. We have both had dogs and cats in the past. Nachi has also volunteered with the SPCA where she looked after chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs amongst others. She also attended a farm school and has experience caring for farm animals. We believe that animals are part of the family and will go above and beyond to ensure they are well looked after and don't miss their human family too much while you are away. We have been housesitting since June 2021 and have become the biggest fans of it. We love being able to meet and spend time with many different fur-friends. Life is one big adventure! I like to be kept busy; I love to travel, discovering out of the way places, meeting new people & embracing life. But my family pets have always been a top priority. House sitting offers some exciting opportunities, but more specifically it will provide me with the pleasures of 'adopting' your family pets, if only for a short time. (And, I certainly miss not having my own pet to care for). There has always been a cat or dog (or both) in the house and then there have been the children's tropical fish, German rat, guinea pigs, rabbits, and birds! We've even had a couple of cats 'adopt' us! I also volunteered for 18 months at a bird rescue centre a few years ago which was a very rewarding experience. From a young age until her early 20s, I also used to spend a lot of time at my aunt & uncles farm where they had a dairy herd, goats and a chicken run. Animals have always featured in my life. I have been fortunate to have had some wonderful House & pet sitting opportunities over the past 3 years (with a global house sitting company) looking after dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and birds - most of these sits were while I was based in the UK. I'm now cutting back on my time away from NZ and, after hearing very positive comments about The Housesitting Company, have decided to join so that I can focus more on NZ sits. I'd be delighted to look after and love your family pets and I will take excellent care of your home. Two weeks in 2013. was in Great Barrier Island, another friend who runs a retreat center called Wai Ora set on Medlands beach, this involved, keeping an eye on solar power system, security, garden, compost and the cat! Two weeks 2014. Other times in Auckland, while a friend visited UK, collected mail, fed cat, clean house, water plants, this lasted five weeks. At present restoring a colonial house in Leigh area, caring for cats, little goats, chickens and a dog, since then work has stopped. My latest Housesit was in Western Springs for ten days, the ginger cat Lucy had a stroke so needed a lot of care. Lucy loved to sleep on the bed with me, I loved having her close. The other cat Diesel was more independent. My other duties were watering the garden and collecting the mail. Also over the Xmas new year period I went to houses with sole purpose of feeding, patting and caring for four different cats. Also specialise in turtle minding, feeding for my son and his girlfriend. I am an animal lover who is kind and considerate who will care for your pets and house with love. Greetings and kia ora. My name is Tootje, and my husband, Kazen and I immigrated to beautiful New Zealand nine years ago. Because we pretty much had to start our lives from scratch (financially speaking), we haven't had much opportunity to travel this picturesque country we now reside in. So I guess you could say, one of the reasons we'd love to do more house-sitting is to have a change of scenery, see a little more of New Zealand and spend our free time enjoying a different perspective of its beautiful cities and towns. We're currently unable to care for pets of our own, and being animal lovers, we miss that interaction with furry friends. In the past (in South Africa) we've house-sat relatively frequently for friends and family, all of which had fur children. Because we come from a country that teaches one (quite quickly in life) to be aware of one's surroundings, we're very security conscious. So looking after your home, would be like looking after our own. In fact I'd say, that's the attitude we have in general - treat other's possessions as though they are your own. And that naturally, includes your pets. I've cared for a terminally ill pet for a month, and we've consoled and reassured pets that generally don't eat when their owners are absent for a while, to do so. We've snuggled and loved pets that just needed to feel at home and comfortable in their surroundings when mum, dad and kids stepped away for a few days, and generally just needed people to meet their basic, and not so basic needs. If you were to ask our friends and family what we were like as house-sitters, they'd say things like, "they always left the house cleaner than they found it". They were reliable, trustworthy, dependable, honest, respectful and never left the house during the duration of their stay, barring having to pop down to the shops for groceries. If you feel like we'd be a suitable fit, in terms of what you require as home and pet owners, we'd love to care for and secure your abode and cherished pets, whilst you're away from them. We LOVE pets, are extremely tidy, clean and respectful. Marlo is very cute and a good boy. I'd say we are kind, friendly and chill - early nights / cooking / baking / reading / and playing at the playground are what we love to do. We’re currently residing in my dads basement, so we can come and house sit at the drop of a hat. Long term would be preferred. As long as there is fast internet, heating, in a safe area, a secure carpark and TV we are good! (Depending on what pets you have - I might not be so keen on pitbulls or large dogs unless theyre old and really calm understandably with a todller around). We are a semi-retired couple who have lived with and cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, ducks, chooks, goats, sheep, and horses. We are fit, active, resourceful and capable individuals, and 'mature' enough to have experienced just about everything life could throw at you. We don't currently have fur-babies as we have just downsized and are now temporary urbanites. I am a keen gardener, fastidious housekeeper, and lover of the outdoors. I have also been known to do a bit of cooking on the side. We are looking for our slice of paradise to call home, so house/pet sitting is a great way for us to travel the country while we search for that ‘little’ corner of Aotearoa that makes our hearts sing. Having done this for a few months now, we consider ourselves to be well travelled, seasoned house sitters. Your lovely home and much loved pets are guaranteed the best of care, though we absolutely refuse to fall in love with them. Good morning/afternoon, I am a French 24-year-old guy, I was a civil engineer in France before coming to New Zealand - I arrived 3 months ago. I intend to visit the country from the end of February, and I am currently living in Wellington, where I currently work in security. I have been living in a proper flat with one kiwi flatmate for 2 months now. I want to visit New Zealand until mid-April, and then I will be looking for a job in Auckland. For my trip throughout New Zealand, I will be travelling with my French partner I have actually met here in Wellington. She is Audrey, a 26-year-old girl. She is really (really) kind, friendly but also serious and tidy. She speaks better English than I do, as she arrived in the country 10 months ago. Furthermore, she is very familiar with NZ culture, landscapes, fauna and flora as she has been planning this trip for 4 years. Her job is a freelance graphic designer, so she is used to remote working. She has been a house sitter several times. She has also done some couch-surfing many times with good reviews. We are both animal lovers. I have personally grown up with 2 cats at home, and I have always liked playing with my uncle's dogs. Audrey has grown up with an American Akita and also loves cats. We are retired and are fit and young at heart. We have been house sitting for the last three years, both in New Zealand and Australia. We are super tidy, especially my wife! and we love pets. Until we traveled abroad for career purposes, we always had pets and dog for the family. When the children were little we had a pooch, black and fluffy for about 14 years, growing up they had the company of a black Labrador. Coming to Fiji we looked after our friends dog for 2 years, a large doberman, one that would lick you to death! And just lately again to help out friends going overseas for 12 months a beautiful German Sheppard and the cat, both couldn't live without the other, and together they provided most of the entertainment! I love walking, and it just isn't the same without a best friend. We know pets love routine, and we will enjoy to fit in with your regular way of looking after them. We are used to having pets, enjoy spending time with pets, and understand their needs of companionship. We have six children, all grown up with their own family. Having had a significant overseas and New Zealand based career, we have had the benefit of high end company homes to live in. References on how we looked after these homes are readily available. We have also included some pics of our home at Vuda Marina, Fiji. What you can expect is, to return to your home with pleasure, absolutely spotlessly kept, both inside and out, including any pool maintenance and garden maintenance. Hello! I am George, a 31 year old Kiwi male. I am an animal lover, tidy, courteous and relatively new to Auckland. I have done plenty of pet sitting and house sitting in the past! I work in the film industry. While this means long and intensive hours when films are shooting... It also means extensive breaks between films, where I am completely free with my time for weeks/months on end. I am currently entering a 'break' in work for the next few months, before resuming in August. I think housesitting is an excellent way to help you care for your pets, while cutting my own costs, in these breaks. Plus, I absolutely adore quiet time in the company of animals. I have owned two dogs in the past and also foster cared for many others. I have lived with and cared for cats also. We have our own home in Rodney district. We are pretty much retired. Lesley is a registered nurse and Richard a freelance IT specialist doing occasional work from home. At the moment our 2 children in their twenties are in the UK. Circumstances make it necessary for us to return to the UK from May 23rd to September 12th so we will be unavailable during that period. We are pretty much home birds and are very happy to chill and read or make friends with your lovely pets. We have house sat before for a variety of pets - cats, chickens, fish, dogs - and very much enjoyed this. The main reason being that we are animal lovers and Lesley especially is feeling pet deprived at the moment since having to put down our most adored cat Ginger 18 months ago. We have taken the decision not to replace him at for the moment so she has become that annoying person that has to pet everybody's dog on the beach and talk to every cat in the street! We are mature responsible people who totally understand the need to feel that your home and pets are being properly looked after and treated with respect and would be very happy to do this.

Kia Ora! We’re Emma and Elias, twins on tour through New Zealand with a working holiday visa, eager to explore the country and its people. Whilst looking for an accommodation we’ve stumbled upon house/pet sitting, which seemed perfect to us both. Both of us adore pets and animals in general and even though we only have fish at home;), both of us have plenty of experience, especially with dogs. I, Emma, did a school exchange in 2020 and lived in a family with 3 dogs (a husky and 2 adopted strays). I took care of them every day of the year, taking all three of them on long walks through the beautiful nature of Andalusia and still, almost three years later, I miss them dearly. I also made a habit out of going to the local Dog-Rescue-Center, taking little pups without a home on walks along the beach. I, Elias, have a close friend with 3 young australian shepherds. Back in Germany I joined them for a walk every day over the last year and cared for them whenever the family was away. I’ve helped educating them since the age of 12 weeks and went through all stages of adolescence with the little rascals. All three of them have a special place in my heart and they will be my first stop when this travel experience comes to an end. Even though both of us have more experience taking care of dogs, we have helped friends and family with cats whenever we had the chance to. If you choose us as sitters you can expect two young, responsible adults to take care of both your home and your animal/s with lots of love and passion. Also, we bring plenty of time with us due to us not working at all or only working part time! That means we are very flexible and can always prioritize your pet/s. We know how to take care over cats as well. We took care over my friends cats when they went on vacation. Michelle also took care of her hostfamilies cat during her exchange year in the USA. We already have experience with housesitting in NewZealand. We had an housesit in Christchurch and we both loved it. We took care of an spaniel cocker and a lovely cat. We are confident that we have the skills and experience necessary to provide excellent care for your home and pets. If the homeowner chooses us as sitters they can expect kind, responsible and reliable people which are excited about the opportunity to care for your home and pets while you are away.
