Papamoa
Papamoa is a beachside Tauranga suburb that continues to see huge growth in population. It has some stunning homes that make for awesome house sits – and they’re ideally placed with the beach close by.
Papamoa has many great places to eat out and also to shop, with the Papamoa Plaza shopping mall having a variety of stores to choose from. Another great aspect to Papamoa is the Papamoa Regional Hills Park, which is a perfect option for people to run, walk and sit and marvel at the beauty of the Western Bay of Plenty.

We consider ourselves active "young at heart" retirees and because we love all animals we have chosen to become house sitters. We have had the pleasure of other sitters minding our home and would consider it a privilege to take care of someone else's home and beloved pets. My old cat required a daily diabetes injection and regular blood sugar tests so I am happy to carry out this if required. I love gardening so am happy to do any required. We will care for the owner's home as we would our own. My previous husband was a farmer and so I had many years of caring for a variety of animals, eg lambs, calves, horses, pigs etc. Peter and I will be very happy to be in a country area and care for the family's animals as needed.

Hi, we're two active retirees who lost our wee mate, 14yr old Cavoodle, Riley, last year. So we are now doing a bit of travelling before committing again. Meanwhile, we've been getting our "doggie fix" from minding dogs for our friends, neighbours and even a motor home park which included two samoyeds! Prior to retiring, Ian has managed Waste and Transport companies and owned his own business and Pam has worked in the Airline Industry for the last 30 plus years. We both enjoy lots of outdoor exercise including dog walking, kayaking and mountain biking. We have done numerous house/pet sits already. We are loving the experiences, especially spending longer periods of time in different towns, cities and even the remotest areas getting to know neighbours and locals. We've also enjoyed some "sits" in Australia recently too. Our own home and garden are kept extremely neat and tidy so be assured we would take great care of your property.

We have recently sold our large rural home and garden and moved into an independent apartment in a Ryman retirement village in Whangarei. We brought our beautiful 14 year old Tonkinese cat with us but sadly we had to put her to sleep. We are experienced in looking after cats and dogs and previously used your service to have house sitters at our home in Parua Bay so are familiar with what is required. We are both fit and well and extremely fastidious in and around the home. We consider house sitting would be a way for us to enjoy pets and to visit different parts of the country that we would otherwise not get to see.

Hi there! My name is Tracey and here is a bit about myself: My first primary years were spent in Upper Hutt with working parents and siblings. We had a dog named Mingo and a cat named Friskey! Sadly at the time, my parents moved further north to the Waikato region and we couldn't take Mingo with us ,but we got to keep Friskey. This is where I had my intermediate years. From the age of 13 my first job was delivering milk. During my senior years of high school I had early work in the local dairy. In the 80's I became a mother and raised my children, the first 10 yrs in NZ and the next 20 years in Australia. We had back then my gorgeous miniature foxy who sadly passed away 13 yrs later. Now my own two children have moved on with their lives, so with early retirement I decided to move back to NZ. I have been overseas working for 20 years and have been home in NZ now for 8 years. I thought house sitting would be exciting way to see our beautiful country. I am vegetarian/vegan so my love for animals is from my heart. I love being outdoors hiking trails and beaches! All my employment has been hands-on and done with very high standards. I have been raised with wise parents who taught me that hard work honesty & respect will take me anywhere. If I am chosen to take care of your precious pets and your lovely home, be reassured that all your requirements will be met to a high standard. Kind Regards, Tracey.

Hello homeowner, Wren and Rosalind are fit, active people who don't believe that "retired" means sitting around doing little. Looking after your home and having quality time with your pets is much more appealing! First, a bit about our past working lives. Wren has a Ph.D. in ecology and worked as a research ecologist before working in the Department of Conservation. After that, Wren worked as an environmental consultant, mostly in New Zealand, and can now indulge his passion for nature photography. Rosalind had a successful career in medical research, then moved to the USA for 20 years which included time at a Zen monastry and lots of housesits with pets, before returning to New Zealand. She loves gardening and community work. We are both dedicated Wellingtonians, so we are very adaptable, weather-wise! We are experienced international as well NZ-based travellers and have separately enjoyed exploring many countries and different cultures over the decades. As a retired couple, housesitting is a wonderful opportunity for us to indulge our two loves of seeing New Zealand and having time with pets. We both love animals which is a big appeal of housesitting. We are very responsible and reliable homeowners and know how to maintain and care for houses. Wren grew up with a lovely Samoyed called Sally and various cool cats. We can guarantee you total peace of mind while you are away. We will keep in touch with regular email and photo updates on how your pets are doing and are happy to do gardening or other maintenance jobs. 24/7 care is our commitment to you. HOUSEOWNERS ALERT: You will see that the Feedback statements are for Wren and Jan, as well as Wren and Rosalind. My change of partners happened in early 2022, although Rosalind and I have known each other for a number of years. Life is what it is. That's just to clarify the name changes, but the quality of care for your house and pets is unchanged, i.e. the best we can deliver. We look forward to hearing from you. Warm regards, Wren and Rosalind

Hi, my name is Michelle. House sitting really appeals to me, for the primary reason that it will give me some variety from my day to day schedule . An opportunity to visit different areas, towns and suburbs, that perhaps I haven't yet experienced. It will also be like having a holiday away from home. Over the years I (and my two girls, now grown up and moved out) have had many pets, including cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, and birds. I have walked and exercised many neighbours dogs. I am an extremely house proud person. I own my own home. I am fit and walk and cycle every day. I love the sea, and the beach. I am an honest, trustworthy and tidy person whom would love to be considered to care for your home and your pets. Thank you for taking the time to consider my profile and I hope to meet with you. Regards Michelle

I am a 76 year old ex-South African. Retired but still doing some consulting, remotely. Full driver's licence. I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I am currently house-sitting for my son in Dunedin and have house-sat for friends and family a number of times, mainly so that they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boardiing for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, fish - all OK. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. TV is a 'nice-to-have'. I also need somewhere safe to park my car, preferably under cover. I look forward to speaking with you soon ... Liston

Hi there! I'm Jasmin. I'm 31 years old from Tauranga. I work part time as a house/air bnb cleaner. You can rest assured as well as your pets having all the love and attention they deserve, that your house will be spic n span by the time you come home! I don't work weekends so I can spend all of my time giving your pets and home the love it deserves. In my spare time, I am studying interior design as well as volunteering for an animal rescue (mainly with dogs but cats and horses also), because of this I have a lot of experience with different kinds of dogs, and dogs that need extra training or attention. I can also administer medication if need be. I love to read books and explore nature. I also love to travel and experience new things. I have always loved animals since I was a child and it makes my life very fulfilled being able to find loving forever homes for ones that need a second chance. Unfortunately, my fur baby passed last year, I miss her dearly, however I can now get my doggie fix at the shelter, as well as house sitting and getting to meet lots of different animals and love them as if they were my own. I have had many pets throughout my life including cats, guinea pigs, dogs, fish, and rabbits. I have previous housesitting experience and great reviews, I treat every home with respect and courtesy as well as keeping it fresh and clean. My love and devotion for animals means you will never have to worry about your pets when they are in my care. I love being active with pets ( if they are the active type) and enjoy seeing new places and seeing them flourish in nature. Feel free to contact me with any questions or if I can help you in any way.

Bob and I are retirees living in the Auckland area and are available for house sitting anywhere in New Zealand. We enjoy our regular morning exercise sessions, particularly if there is a dog or two with us. Between us, we have had several pets over the years, including dogs, cats, and birds, as well as rabbits and guinea pigs. We've previously looked after homes and pets for friends and family and can arrange verbal references if required. We enjoy the company of animals and it will be a pleasure to care for your pets and keep them happy while you are away. We are reliable and honest, and can assure you that we will take meticulous care of your home.

I am a single Mature Woman with with adult children who are happily living their own lives in Hamilton and Auckland. I worked for many years in the Hair and Beauty industry as a Hairdresser and Beauty therapist. I have owned business and employed staff in the past. I now work remotely for a septic tank cleaning company doing telemarketing and database management. During the Covid lockdown I revived my crafting stills creating some interesting upcycling projects. I had been asked by friends to housesit and care for their pets. It seemed a natural progression to I chose to housesit in anticipation of travelling and I joined an international housesitting site, meeting some fabulous people whilst in the UK in 2018. Many of these people I am still in contact with. On my return to New Zealand my desire to travel remained so I continued to move around seeing more of our beautiful Aotearoa. Among the animals I have cared for cats both indoor and outdoor, dogs large and small young and old, chickens ducks and fish and also some livestock. Returning to housesits many times means I have developed some great friendships with both the animals and their owners, and also in some cases neighbors and friends in communities. I look forward to meeting you your animals and experiencing the area that you call home.

We are a family of 4+1 - Mum, Dad, 2x daughters aged 16 and18 years (our 18 yo will most likely not join us). We would like to have a holiday with the comforts of home including a pet to come home to. We have a Mini Schnauzer named Ollie who is 3 years old. We walk him daily on the beach or park and socialise him with other dogs as much as possible. My sister also has a Mini Schnauzer x Lowchen so they would dogsit for us while we are away. We love dogs and cats and would treat them like we do our own. Chris was brought up with cats and his family and a few friends own cats which we have fed and looked after while they have been away over the years. If you choose us as a sitter you can be sure we will take good care of your pets and your house/garden like it is our own.

Hi, my name is Olya. I usually start my mornings at 6 am with a coffee and a stroll on the beach. I love exploring nature, but I believe I am a city gal at heart. Being able to work from anywhere and having the ability to choose the hours that I work gives me the flexibly of where I want to be. I love animals and I would relish the opportunity to look after your fur baby like it's my own. If you do not have pets, I am happy to look after your home. I am reliable, caring, extremely clean and respectful. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi, my name is Marion I am 31 years old and I come from France. I have been living in Auckland for the last 8 years and would like to discover more of the country while saving for a house by house-sitting. I have been looking after all sorts of cats and a few breeds of dogs : poodles, husky, fox terrier, labradors... I think I am nice and tidy person, very caring and I also love gardening! I have been house-sitting a few houses in Auckland for friends and relatives recently and actually love it! Apparently they are super happy too ;-)

Kia Ora! We’re Emma and Elias, twins on tour through New Zealand with a working holiday visa, eager to explore the country and its people. Whilst looking for an accommodation we’ve stumbled upon house/pet sitting, which seemed perfect to us both. Both of us adore pets and animals in general and even though we only have fish at home;), both of us have plenty of experience, especially with dogs. I, Emma, did a school exchange in 2020 and lived in a family with 3 dogs (a husky and 2 adopted strays). I took care of them every day of the year, taking all three of them on long walks through the beautiful nature of Andalusia and still, almost three years later, I miss them dearly. I also made a habit out of going to the local Dog-Rescue-Center, taking little pups without a home on walks along the beach. I, Elias, have a close friend with 3 young australian shepherds. Back in Germany I joined them for a walk every day over the last year and cared for them whenever the family was away. I’ve helped educating them since the age of 12 weeks and went through all stages of adolescence with the little rascals. All three of them have a special place in my heart and they will be my first stop when this travel experience comes to an end. Even though both of us have more experience taking care of dogs, we have helped friends and family with cats whenever we had the chance to. If you choose us as sitters you can expect two young, responsible adults to take care of both your home and your animal/s with lots of love and passion. Also, we bring plenty of time with us due to us not working at all or only working part time! That means we are very flexible and can always prioritize your pet/s. We’re looking forward to meet you and your little family!!!

Hello, Vanessa and Marcel here. We have been house-sitting for the Housesitting Company since 2018 and have done about 20 house-sits right around the country. Vanessa grew up in Mount Maunganui and Tauranga but has more recently lived in Otago for the last 20 years. Marcel has lived in Otago most of his life. We now live in Invercargill where Vanessa is studying to be a Nurse, and Marcel drives a School Bus. We both love dogs and cats and have had our own pets in the past. Marcel has until recently had Labradors and a couple of cats. Vanessa has recently had both cats and dogs, Chocolate and Vanilla the cats, and Chico was a very much loved Tibetan Spaniel. We have mainly looked after cats and dogs, but also horses, rabbits, fish, and one Axolotl. Vanessa has studied the first year of Vet Nursing at Otago Polytech and gained a Certificate in Animal Care. We both love the outdoors hiking in summer and skiing in winter. We own our own property so we are mindful that you expect us to look after your property and pets as if they were our own.

I’m a retired pet lover but because I often go to Auckland to visit family I can’t have a pet of my own. Because I am often in Auckland I could possibly be available for in person interviews for Auckland sits. I grew up in Auckland but have lived in Opotiki for 18 years and love it here. I don’t live in the township but in the very small beach suburb of Tirohanga, only one house back from the beach. There are 30 houses/baches and about half of them are holiday homes. Of the other half at least 40% are occupied by retired people. Lots of them have pets and I fill my animal craving by frequently visiting them. I’m even lucky enough to have a nearly daily visit from my neighbours cat, “Smoke” I can’t see the beach but at night I can hear the waves crashing. I’m physically fit and as I live near a beautiful beach I walk on the beach or cycle track daily. I do 20 to 40 minutes with the occasional 60 minutes thrown in for good luck. I love to read and play board or card games, especially word games. I’m enjoying my retirement but feel like I need to stretch myself a little and house sitting will do that. I’m a gregarious but also very happy with my own company as long as I have a book to read! I’m definitely conscious and reliable as my references will concur. I’ve dog, cat and chicken sat for friends in Opotiki

Hello, I’m 52 and am currently taking a year off work from Air NZ, where I’ve worked for 22 years. I’ve done house and pet sitting for friends in the past from Sydney to Wellington and really enjoyed the experience. I’m reliable, clean and tidy and love animals.
Hello! My name is Sarah and I am a 42 year old woman who has been going through …
Hello! My name is Sarah and I am a 42 year old woman who has been going through cancer treatment this year, thankfully with a positive outcome. I have worked in Education as either and English teacher, a relief teacher and/or tutor for 16 years, and started studying towards becoming a counsellor in 2022. I also have a nearly 21 year old daughter who I raised as a solo mum. I am intending to housesit as I move forward from a challenging year, hopefully to have enjoyable experiences in new places and step outside my comfort zone, and I also hope to save money for travel and for the future. I have had pets since I was a child. We always had cats in our family which have included a girl called cuddles one of her kittens, Garfield, as sweet girl called patch who was white with a couple of black patches and a black tail, and two girls, Mocca, and Cino, the latter who has been my my comfort and support while going through cancer treatment. My daughter and I also had our own cat who found us, who was the biggest smooch, I have known who I miss terribly. My family, growing up also had a golden retriever called, Zoe, and a budgie called Moses, and my daughter and I also had our own budgie called Mika, and we had a couple of fish called Bubbles and Scales when my daughter was younger. Hopefully, this gives you an idea that I have plenty of experiences looking after pets! I have had one experience of housesitting, which was early this year, looking after two male labradoodle puppies, and two cats while the family were overseas for three weeks. There was an issue with the puppies, which I resolved and the couple were thankful for how things were handled. I looked after their greenhouse during this period which required a lot of care. I see being able to live in and look after someone's home as privilege and would endeavour to care for the property how I would wish someone to look after my own. I think a discussion about expectations of what is important to the family is in an important part of that, so that if there are any particular needs or concerns that is clear from the beginning, especially if pets are being looked after. Pets are part of the family, so I would treat them with the love and care they deserve, just like I would with my own.

Hi I'm Kim. I'm an environmental scientist working in sustainability for an energy company, I work fully remotely so I'm mostly home Mon - Fri. My work sometimes includes travel to locations such as Auckland, Wellington, central Nth Island and the Otago. When I do that I like to house sit as I prefer to live like a local rather than stay in hotels, it also gives me the added bonus of fur babies which I love. My husband and I live in Christchurch with our Burmese fur baby Cookie who truly rules our life in a good way. In some locations when I'm travelling for work I go into the office occasionally, ie in Auckland. We are active outdoors people, love trail running, tramping, surfing and biking. We are often trusted to house sit for friends and neighbors when they are away, and we're are experienced and happy to look after small and large animals. I have also had quite a few dogs in my life over the years, fox terriers and border collies when growing up and later in life larger dogs. At the moment we just have Cookie but I doggie sit for friends quite often. As I work remotely I'm home most of the day, I like to get up early leaving time in the afternoons to get outside for exercise or exploring. If you have animals that require a bit of exercise that suits me perfectly as I like to get out for a walk / run. I've been house / pet sitting for friends and family for years and have loved the experience of exploring different locations and getting to know different fur babies. I will take care of your loved fur baby and your home as my own.

Hello My name is Andrea I have been house/pet sitting for over 5 years with a two year break for the covid travel restrictions. All my clients to date have been in the wider Auckland area. Most houses have had cats and/or dogs, a few fish and chickens and some no pets at all. All have their own special characters! I am pleased to say that most have been referrals and repeat clients. Professionally I was a banker for 30 years in the Waikato and Auckland then moved into the book industry nine years ago. I worked in a Ponsonby bookshop for several years and then for a book distribution business. I am now working independently from home. I love to read, obviously. I am a keen embroiderer very involved in several groups at local and national level. I am pragmatic and careful by nature, security and privacy conscious. My goal is to preserve your pets routine and to ensure you can travel with no concerns about what is happening at home. Over the years I have grown very fond of some of my regular four-legged clients and enjoyed vicariously the travels of the two-legged ones.

Hi, we are Tracey & Mick - both self employed work from home professionals. Tracey is a weight loss consultant & Mick an IT consultant. We are parents of 4 adult children & are a blended family. We have no pets at present and decided not to, to allow us to travel more easily. Previously we had 9 chickens - our 'other children'. We love animals and have had experience with our own cats (5), rabbit, guinea pigs, chickens and a Labrador dog (Abby). We even got to look after Sea Monkeys for one of our boys. One of our boys has Purebred American Bulldogs & we love visiting & playing with them. In the recent Auckland floods (for the 2nd time) close friends of ours bought their 6 chickens to us, to care for, until they were able to live in their home again - the first time we had them for over 6 months and more recently 3 months. Their 'babies' were well loved & looked after. Mick is a keen diver and loves to get out in the garden, Tracey used to be a professional cleaner so keeping a home sparkling clean is my thing - I also love mowing lawns. We both love to walk and do lengthier hikes & can be found in the mornings trying to beat each other at Wordle & Quordle. We are both people who take pride and care not only in our home (including the grounds) but any home we visit or stay in. We absolutely both respect your home is your castle, that your pets are your joy and we want you to go away knowing we will love your animals and care for them & your house (and grounds if required) so you can just relax. We both have the ability to work anywhere with a good internet connection. Depending on which one of us is working we will always have plenty of time to love, pet, cuddle, brush or walk your pet(s).

Hi there, My name is Laura, I am originally from Brazil and have been living in New Zealand for almost 8 years now. I am a digital marketer passionate about communicating/connecting with people. I am well-organized and understand the importance of maintaining a clean and tidy living space. I believe that a neat environment contributes to a sense of peace and well-being, both for you and your pet. I'm a responsible and reliable person with a love for animals. I had a few pets when growing up, including a pitbull crossbreed, and she was our best friend and companion at home, so I understand the love and care they require. I have lived in a flat for 4.5 years with an amazing cat called Pango. He was my daily dose of joy, and I loved snuggling with him in bed. Even though we now live in separate houses, I continue to look after him and house-sit for my friends whenever needed. During my time off, you'll find me exercising, enjoying the outdoors, reading, watching some movies or catching up with friends. I value the balance between personal well-being and social connections. I'm here to bring you and your pet a fun and stress-free house-sitting experience. You can count on me to keep your house in order and provide plenty of belly rubs and playtime for your furry companion. I'll make sure your pet feels right at home while you're away and that they receive the same level of love and attention, making sure they feel safe and loved in their familiar surroundings. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything else you'd like to know. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Warm regards, Laura.

We are a retired couple based in Kerikeri. We have been sheep and beef farmers in our younger years so are comfortable around livestock and pets. Before retirement, Diane was a registered pre-school teacher (20 plus years). Peter was a a businessman/company director and a past Commodore of the Kerikeri Cruising Club. Since retiring we lived on our 13m yacht over the summer months sailing both the North and South Islands and house sat during the winter over four years. Mid 2023, we sold the yacht and purchased a caravan, the plan being to meander from North Cape to Bluff, at a leisurely pace. We have now done three housesits through the Housesitting Company, and have throughly enjoyed the different experiences. w45q The winter of 2022, we looked after a 5 acre property /house with 2 glamping sites for 3 months. This included caring for 43 hens, 12 Guinea Fowl, and a dog called Enzo. The winter of 2021 we undertook to be caretakers for Aroha Island Eco Centre. No pets, but lots of birds including resident kiwis. Peter was active in pest and weed extermination plus grounds maintenance. Diane had both knees replaced at this time so it was ideal for her convalesence. Prior to this we looked after a lifesytyle property 2 years in a row in Kerikeri, caring for 3 lovely cats. Diane is a keen gardner and Peter gets great satisfaction from mowing lawns! We both enjoy walking, reading, fishing and of course sailing. We are always respectful of others homes and take care to always leave them as we find them. Computer literate, (more so Peter!) so can share video clips of pets etc. We are both non smokers and consider ourselves reasonably fit, honest and trustworthy. We have joined this house sitting site in the hope of getting positions where we can explore different parts of the North Island. We would love the opportunity to care for your property, pets and/ or livestock. We look forward to meeting you.

I am a caring, bubbly person who loves to explore and travel. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Applied Management (Human Resources Major). I am hoping upon achieving this degree it will give me the tools to address the 'gap' of people and culture in the workplace when I graduate. All my study is distance learning, so it can be done from anywhere in New Zealand (With an internet connection). I grew up in the Waikato and Auckland regions respectively, I have recently moved back home to the Waikato area after living in North Canterbury for 14 years. I am very fond of Christchurch and I would love to return permanently one day once my degree is completed in 3 years time. I am very fond of the Marlborough area as well, I have had some great holidays spent there and many fishing trips! I have recently moved back to the family home in Ohinewai, I was previously in North Canterbury (Christchurch) but now I am studying full time it is a better choice to come home and not worry about finances. Even though I currently am not a pet owner (As I am committed to my degree, it's not the right time to commit to a pet) there are plenty of animals here at home on a quarter acre lifestyle property. To be exact, 4 dogs; Louie the Pug, Maia the Bullmastiff/Pitbull (Rescue), Bella and Ollie both Maltese, 2 Cats; Tee a Maine Coon, Simba a Mixed (Rescue). I think house sitting will give me the freedom to explore lots of new surroundings and travel of course! whilst I continue my studies. I love all animals and thought that when I grew up I wanted to become a vet! So your animals are in safe hands! I will treat them as if they were my own. I love plants as well! I will take extra special care of any plant life you may have in your home. In fact in my home in christchurch I had 33 houseplants to be precise! If you choose me to house sit for you, I will be respectful and caring to your pets and home. I look forward to meeting new people and learning about their travels. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know your lovely fur babies!

I am a budding writer (at this stage for pleasure), travelling around the country gathering inspiration for stories, house and pet sitting is a perfect fit to help me to continue writing. My preference is for house sits that are of longer duration, and will consider other opportunities as well. As a previous home and pet owner, I know how important it is to have a home looked lived in and pets well cared for. My green thumb is not too bad either. I am happy to say "Hi" to your neighbours if you are friendly with them so they are happy with a new person in their neighbourhood as well. I have experience with cats and dogs, chickens the odd fish and one snail... I am very happy to have a pet curled up on my lap - if they want to! I will be writing from home, so there most of the day to keep pets company and well loved. I am an easy going, friendly person who is clean and tidy and appreciates a clean and tidy home to sit. I am security conscious and happy to water your plants as well. I look forward to meeting with you via Skype, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger Video Calling (or if you Zoom, send me a link) to chat further. Current dates available for 2023: 7th November to 22nd December Warmest, Tracey

Hi I have lived in Hamilton, New Zealand all my life and I am married to Nick for 31 years and we have grown up children, a daughter and two sons and I thought it would be fun to housesit as a way to see NZ. Our daughter is married and living in Christchurch and we are about to become grandparents for the first time. I managed a house we owned as an Airbnb for over two years managing bookings per night so know what is involved in caring for a home. I have dealt with many different nationalities and many situations that arise from having a home on Airbnb. I had to ensure the house was clean and well presented and that the garden was appealing and well managed. I have always had pets those being cats, dogs, chickens, canaries, goldfish I know how to care for animals giving them time, exercise, fresh water and good food. I am also aware of the signs of when a pet is feeling unwell and when to take to the vet. If I was your house sitter I would update you on your home and your pets with regular photos and messages if you would like this. If there were any problems I would consult with you. Thankyou

I am a 32 year old New Zealand resident originally from the UK. I came to Queenstown in 2016 for one ski season and fell in love with this beautiful town and country. During the days I am a dog walker and offer both pack walks and one-on-one on leash walks. And in the evenings I tutor Mathematics online to school kids for approximately 5 hours per week. I have been living in Queenstown in share houses for the past 7 years and recently have been living in a one bed unit. I will be heading to Australia and Bali for the month of November and on coming back to Queenstown I thought I would look into house sitting more permanently over the Summer. I have been working for Take The Lead for the past year and a half as a dog walker and have carried out numerous pet sits also and have plenty of references. If you choose me to look after your home and your pets I will treat your house with the utmost respect and keep it clean and tidy. Your pets will receive a heap of love and as many dog walks as they possibly need. There will also be the option to take them on pack walks so they can socialise if you would like. I am also qualified as a pet first aider

Hi, As full time sitters, it's a big part of our lives so you can be assured we take your trust in us to look after your home & animals seriously. After selling our home and returning from the UK in 2021, we decided to travel around our stunning country while we work remotely and haven't looked back since. We absolutely love animals and enjoyed house sitting so much back in the UK, even after we bought our own home, that we decided to make it a permanent part of our new life back in NZ. We've even launched our own website, Bestish Life, to encourage new house sitters to explore NZ. With us you'll be getting a professional level service with a friendly, reliable and personable approach. Please note we're only interested in sits 3 weeks or longer & without dogs so we can make the most of exploring the area and community. House sitting is a great chance to enjoy a variety of communities and within a week of starting our first NZ house sit we've been booked up for the majority of 2022, 2023 and even 2024. We're very experienced, never pulled out of a sit, and have great references and police checks available so you can have confidence that you're in good hands. We've looked after various property types before, anything from multi-story homes with gardens and pools, apartments or a secluded colonial era bed and breakfast, all the way to rural lifestyle blocks with farm animals and living partially off grid. Since returning to NZ our speciality has certainly been rural lifestyle blocks as we love the peace and quiet of the countryside and exploring nature. We're extremely well organised, tidy, honest, flexible and caring. You can expect to return to your home as clean as you left it, if not cleaner, and with very happy pets. We've never pulled out of a sit as we're extremely reliable and the last thing we'd want is for you to have an issue because of us before you go on holiday. Experienced in garden and lawn care, spa and pool maintenance, rain and bore water tank system monitoring, ant prevention and setting pest control traps. As previous homeowners, we have enough common sense to know when to tackle any maintenance issues which may arise and when to request advice. We're also happy to do turnover service if you operate an active Air BnB on your property. We'll require a reliable unlimited internet connection (as we work remotely) and off street parking for our car. As non-smokers we're not interested in any sits where you normally smoke/vape indoors.

Available Jan 23 - March 8, 2024. We are on an extended trip throughout NZ. Along the way, we would love to take care of your home and animals. We have a flexible timeline and a vehicle. ...a little about us. I am a NZ'er and a retired educator. Peter is canadian and a retired computer engineer. Our home base is on a small island in western Canada. We are homeowners and fully understand the housesitting social contract and responsibilities. We currently have trustworthy housesitters in our home while we are away. Peter and I, make a great housesitting team. I take the lead with the animal and home care, Peter supports me by playing with the pets and cuddle time. He also leads our dog walking explorations into nature. As our three children grew, our home was full of much loved animals. We had two family cats and two family dogs. Oliver, the cat was much loved in the neighbourhood. During the day he would sit by the gate, greet people, and beg for a pat. During the evening, when he was not snuggled up next to the dog, or swatting her tail, he would find a lap and stay there purring. He stayed in our family for 20 years. Lassie, a border collie/lab/husky cross is perhaps the most acclaimed of all our family pets. Our children still talk of her with great love. We adopted her when she was two years old. She 'heeled' with the click of a finger and kept guard over our children when they were young. She was the most amazing and lovable dog - her photo has an honoured place in our home. In the past, we have cared for cats, dogs, sheep, pigs, bees, chickens, ducks, fischers parrot, rabbits, and hamsters. The key in caring for pets is to have established expectations: food and exercise routines/cuddle times and ensure that animals have ample fresh water everyday. We love all animals and plants and can turn my hand to most tasks involved in caring for them. Also, I might add that I enjoy exploring regenerative agriculture concepts. I am a founding director of School Orchards Africa Society, in Tanzania. Having built our home and hobby farm, Peter is familiar with most house systems, on and off grid. He is a good guitar player. We are happy to zoom chat with you regarding your home and animals needs. WhatsApp works too. Kind regards, Linda

Hi, my name is Petria and I am working in a job where I can work remotely from anywhere in the country so I am looking to explore more of New Zealand by housesitting! I am from NZ but only moved back a couple years ago after a long stint in Australia. I have done some housesitting previously and have been housesitting through NZ for the past few months and enjoy being able to experience new places without having a find a hotel and also enjoy giving someone else the peace of mind their place and pets are being looked after while they are away. I am clean and tidy and love to have some form of routine in my day to day so your pets routines shouldnt be too disrupted. I have looked after my own animals in the past as well as housemates pets, friends pets while they are away and also while I have housesat. You can expect to come back to a nice tidy house with everything the way you left it if I was your housesitter :)

Hi, I am Nathan. I am in my early fifties and I have owned my own home most of my adult life. During that time I have cared for many pets including dogs(German Shephered and 2x Cavoodles, several cats, birds, fish, rabbits and mice). I love animals. I owned and lived on a lifestyle property (10 acres) for several years and am familiar with providing basic care for cattle, sheep, pigs, goats and chooks. I work fulltime remotely as a software developer and have the ability to work from anywhere that there is a reliable internet connection so am available to sit pretty much anywhere in NZ. This also means that I am able to be at home during the day and can give your pets plenty of attention all day long. I would enjoy the opportunity to chat with you about your requirements and meet your furbabies. Nathan

Hi there my name is Hollie Rae, I’m 37 years. I have been away working abroad for 10 years, living in America, London and Australia. Moving back home in 2020 due to the borders closing, living and working in Takapuna. I will be looking to move back to Australia in the coming months and feel house sitting will work well during this time. While in university I was house sitting for a year and thoroughly enjoyed it. I house sat for 3 houses during this period. Looking after homes with or without pets. I come from a family farm with 5 dogs, a cat and 15 ducks, which are very cared for and loved by my family. I love dog walking especially if there is a beach or park close by. We also had my childhood cat Abergail that I named after my primary school Buddy, passing at 19 years. So a big part of our family. I am a very respectful, clean and tidy person and have been in the cosmetic industry for 13 years. My hobbies are long walks, yoga, reading my book, good food and travel.

I am in my late 50s with an 18 year old son, we both work in the film industry (im a production accountant and Joel is an aspiring actor but does also work on set when required in different departments) and more then likely will not be coming with me to house sit for you. Im also an owner of my own company which I run from home (Property Management specialising in Commercial). I am a registered foster parent (for dogs) for the SPCA for a number of years. Because my jobs allow great flexibility I am able to travel as necessary and am committed to looking after your home and pets as though they were my own.

I'm a trustworthy, mature, single woman, currently working remotely as a support worker for Victim Support based at Manukau Police Station. I have undergone police vetting to be able to complete this work so you can rest assured your home, pets and all personal belongings will be well looked after and respected. I am a farm girl at heart so not afraid of anything more than the care of usual domestic animals. I have some 30+ years experience with dog and cat care as a pet owner myself, and in a previous life maintained a healthy tropical fish aquarium. I am happy to incorporate doggy walks etc as part of my own fitness activities (usually a morning or evening walk) or provide animal care more specific to your pet needs. House and pet sitting have been a way to create win-win situations for both parties and has also helped me to manage work/life balance better while studying extramurally towards a masters degree over the past few months. I am flexible in terms of location and ok to travel providing the sit duration makes relocating worthwhile. I have a preference for North Island based sits but will consider a South Island sit if you are ok for me to use your vehicle (to do local grocery shopping) for the duration of the sit. I have completed most of my house and pet sits either privately or via the Kiwihousesitters website (more references are available via Kiwihousesitters website). Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. Hopefully I'll get to meet you and your pets soon :)

I am a mature, respectful, trustworthy woman who loves animals and knows what a privilege it is to be given the responsibility of looking after others homes and precious animals. Also recently NZ Police vetted (November 2022). I'm semi-retired and looking for mostly school holiday sits and available for some weekends. I have my dream job working part time 4 mornings Monday-Thursday, helping women build confidence for the next steps in their lives. I've hired many holiday houses over the years, I'm not a hotel type person, and really enjoy house sitting where I can take care of your home and animals. I have my own dog who will stay at home while I look after yours, take care of friends dogs when they go away and vice versa. I'm also No 1 cat sitter for the neighbours. Massive dog rescuer as well - just ask my friends, they groan at every new story of me finding a stray dog and getting it home safely. I love dogs and cats equally, and when I am asked which I prefer I say both. I have my own dog, the second in my life, and have owned cats until 10 years ago. I adopted Kato (bichon poodle x) when he was 3 and he had fear based issues after what appears to be a difficult first few years. It took a couple of years to make him aware he was safe and just on the planet to have a good time. Now he is a happy little guy who loves to walk, chase balls and hang out with his favourite humans, my 90 year old mother being one of them - having bitten her the first time they met over 5 years ago, they now have a very special bond. They even share the same birthday. I lived in Auckland for 20 years and love the Coromandel and Northland. I spent a lot of time in the Coromandel over summers, in a tent, holiday houses, staying at friends and travelling in motorhomes. Living in Christchurch I don't get much of any opportunity to get back there and I miss the beautiful weather and lush tropical geography. I love to walk, bike, explore, read, cook, love art house movies and documentaries, galleries, being near or in water and am very happy with my own company.

I am a single/separated 46yo professional (Senior Management) that enjoy travelling and experiencing new towns/cities and cultures. I've been house sitting for a colleague for the last 5 months and decided I love the lifestyle, and with the work flexibility I have, I want to make the most of it as long as possible and save up for a big overseas trip. I love animals and connect easily with them. I grew up with and cared for a variety of animals (farm + domestic). Also open to look after animals I haven't dealt with previously. I am healthy, fitness oriented and neat, and do my best to keep my surrounding environment the same. As a house sitter, you can expect your animals, house and its contents to be treated with respect and kept neat and tidy.

Hi there, I'm a 51 yr old woman with my own business that I've had for 20yrs. I do online consultations (which range from life coaching, spiritual advising, counselling etc) I love exploring different places. I would require good internet for my work. I love hanging out with fur babies and have always been an animal lover. I was raised on dry stock farms constantly with an assortment of pets. and until recently I've always had pets. Unfortunately I lost my little Foxy x last year at the ripe old age of 17, and my puddy tat Quasimodo also passed a couple of years back, age 16. I don't feel quite ready for a new pet to own but miss having them around, You can expect that your animals will be well cared for, engaged with, and will have a fantastic time with me. I plan to be at your place most if not all of the time you are away. I will send you photos if you like while your away and update you on how they are doing. A homeowner can expect to have their home well kept and to know everything will be in safe and responsible hands. I'm really a little bit boring If anything, I will probably just snuggle up with your pets and watch a movie at night, I'm totally fine if your pets need to share the bed with me, I'm use to it from mine over the years, I will always be reachable unless I'm in a consultation which usually lasts an hour, but I always check my phone.

We live in a motorhome and have housesat at a few homes which has been very successful. John has bred and shown dogs for 9 years and I grew up and had cats over many years. We have had positive feedback from homeowners as we have kept gardens tidy and get satisfaction from leaving a home cleaner than when we arrived. We keep good health and love exploring new areas.I am known to walk for many miles and we have our own bikes. We have only ever had dogs and cats but wouldn't be averse to looking after something different.

I'm Asha, I'm 21 on an a working holiday visa from Scotland! I'm travelling around the country on my own and looking for more options for living as i've been living in hostels for about 7 months now. I grew up with cats so have been around them my whole life and am definitely the most comfortable looking after them. I also have a diploma in zoology so alongside personal experience with pets I have a well rounded background in biology and animal psychology. I love to cook and I'll always keep your home clean and tidy. I'd be keen to meet or have a chat before accepting any positions just to make sure we're a good match!

Hi .. My name is Jude.. I am a 60 year old Women, Company Director and mobile travelling sales person, selling educational resources to schools throughout NZ. I have been working in a travelling sales role all around NZ for more than 30 years... working, travelling and usually staying in motels or my time share accommodation, which tends to be a little expensive over the year. I have flexibility and can work any in area. I am normally at work daily for around 5-6 hours and home mid afternoon to do paper work etc. feed, walk animals, and prepare dinner. I own 2 houses and at present have them both rented with tenants and flatmates. So I understand the privilege of owning a house and totally respect other peoples property and their belongings. I have done a lot of housing sitting over the years and have cared for and feed many animals. Auckland for 3 months looking after dogs and cats. Farm animals or feeding chickens, which is no problem as I am a country girl at heart. I have had looked after 3 large dogs. One that required monitored medication daily and exercise. I have also had to feed unwell cats medicine etc and have no problem caring for your pets no matter what there needs. I enjoy the company of animals especially since I am away from home so much. I love all animals and especially their little characters. Whilst I am at home during the summer months, I used to host overseas students that come to NZ to learn English. I have had many students over the years, Swiss, Thai, Arabian, Japanese, Chiian, Brazilian. They all love staying with me as i spend time with them and share our beautiful country with them often taking them somewhere for day trips etc. Homeowners can be assured that I will treat their home and their pets as they would themselves with upmost care and respect enabling them to have a stress free time away from home and to enjoy your holiday with no concerns. I am honest and reliable. It would be my pleasure to housesit for you. Thanks J

I'm a retired farmer and want to see more of New Zealand, having lived permanently in one place for the last forty years. Have looked after neighbours pets, but travelled the few kilometres from own home daily. Over the last forty years have had own cats and foxies, and on average six farm working dogs yearly and many litters of pups. A conscientious person who understands the needs of animals, especially family pets. I have many interests (Grandchildren are number one) and currently it is mainly sport, I watch netball and rugby, but play golf, tennis, bowls and swim. I also walk and like to read. Further forward I would like to learn to paint, play chess and bridge.

As a previous home owner I understand how important it is to care after a home. Furnishing a home can be costly so I always make sure when house sitting that I'm always cautious of peoples belongings. There's nothing worse than a carpet stain!! But I make sure this sort of thing never happens. I'm a single 40 year old business owner and before getting back into the property market I've decided to do housesitting for the rest of the year. I've looked after both cats and dogs in the past. I am very tidy and respectful and love animals! Open to any questions you may have about me! Look forward to hearing from you.

I am a mature professional woman (63 years). Very fit and active. Flexible and conscientious. I am looking to house sit as I take a career break and move to a reduced working week and remote working. Thus, I will have more time and would like the freedom that housesitting provides. I have recently moved up from Wellington where I own my own home plus an apartment. In summary, I am a mature women who has had a professional career, owned my own home for the past 40 years, raised a family and cared for pets. I am retired from full-time professional employment. I have a Motorhome, and have decided to place my furniture into storage, and travel around New Zealand for a couple of years. I have great support from our family and grandchildren knowing I am never far away with modern technology. Over the years I have cared for cats and dogs ( Samoyeds, Labradors, Corgi), and the odd canary in a cage, whilst raising a growing family, and know what's involved in taking very good care of your beloved animals. I am fit and very active and love camping and travel. I enjoy cycling, walking, swimming, knitting and love of gardening. I am a clean and tidy "freak", who takes pride in presentation, and would treat every home as my own. For your peace of mind, while you are enjoying your vacation, I would love to take excellent care of your home and keep it immaculate , whilst caring for you pets.

Hello, we are a middle aged, tidy and responsible professional couple (teachers). We look forward to house sitting during our NZ wide travel plans from December through to April 2024, after 3 years away working. We love animals and between us have a wide range of pet care experience. We are non-drinkers and non-smokers and will endeavor to take the best care of any house, property and pets we are charged with. Both of us have cared for a range of pets throughout our lives including cats, dogs, turtles and fish and more and we will care for your home and pets as if they are our own for the duration of a sit. We like to walk and explore our natural surroundings, listen to and play/ sing music, plants and gardening and cooking great food. We enjoy our own company and like to relax and converse and believe we'd make great conscientious and trustworthy house-sitters . Thanks and kind regards, Brent & Ajeng

Hello, I’m Kate; here is a little about me. I am a Teacher and have had the good fortune to have been able to travel the world with my career. I’m originally from Nelson. During the last 25 years, I have lived and worked in London, Bangkok, HCMC, Shanghai, and Beijing. It has all been an exciting adventure. While living and working in Vietnam and China, I looked after friends’ pups and then went on to foster many dogs. I found a tiny puppy on the street in Shanghai. He lived with me for three years and turned out to be a big dog. His name is Paddy. Sadly, I could not bring him back to New Zealand with me. I found him a great and loving home and have regular contact with his 2nd Mummy. I will always be 1st Mummy. I am sure you will understand how heartbreaking it was separating from him. I am currently living in Auckland and am keen to see more of NZ particularly the South Island. I am available for house sits all over NZ during the school holidays. During the last two years I have been pet and house sitting regularly. I love dogs and cats. I am a keen walker and love finding new places to walk. The only thing that is missing is a furry freind. I am clean and tidy and enjoy healthy living. I am a non-smoker.

We are a couple who have had many moves over the years due to family commitments. We do not own our own home, but we love seeing different parts of the country. We are animal lovers and love to relax, read and roam a little. We have three adult daughters, one granddaughter and just love the fresh air, fossicking for unusual stones on beaches and river beds. We have house sat many times and caring for pets is just another enjoyable facet of housesitting. We are reliable, responsible and considerate towards the home and homeowners.

I also have lived in many places throughout New Zealand and over seas. I love and have owned a variety of animals, many cats, British blues, Maine Coons, Burmese, and dogs, Mastiff/lab cross, Staffordshire's, an English bull terrier, collies, Chihuahua and have even bred Bichon Frise's, as well as owned/bred horses and bred birds, cockatiels and budgies, guinea pigs, a pet rabbit and goldfish. Please have a look through my references and feel free to call the referees who will be more than happy to provide you with more information about my character and skills as a house sitter/pet minder. I would love to meet you and your pets and hope that you will consider me as your house sitter. I love to go walking daily so you can count on your beautiful pooch getting lots of exercise plus many cuddles and I am currently on a sabbatical from my work to study so am very flexible and available during daytime to keep them company Thank you Vanessa Stephenson

Single professional, non-smoker, caring, reliable, and trustworthy. Hello, I have been housesitting for over 6 yrs now and have been so fortunate to have stayed in many lovely homes in Bay of Plenty, Taupo & Auckland. The gorgeous pets I have cared for include cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, sheep, chickens, cows, and guinea pigs. (I do prefer to look after cats as I can go to work during the day, if you have a dog that can be left for day that may work too). I love meeting new pets and especially love to catch up with wee friends I have cared for in the past. I absolutely adore cats and dogs, and have met some very interesting characters along the way! and I look forward to meeting many more. I grew up with a Cat and dog, and just love their company and playing with them, and don't mind at all if they snuggle up in bed. I'm also happy to administer medication and flea treatments etc. and take your wee friend to the vet if required. I can assure you that your house will be spotless on your return and I will treat it as if it were my own home, I'm quite the perfectionist. More than happy to water plants etc. and really whatever else needs to be done, you only have to ask. I do like to bring my own food and other essential items for the duration of my stay. I can also provide my own bed linen and towels etc. should this be required. It is essential that you have fast, reliable wifi - unlimited, as I do work from home on a regular basis. Whilst your away I will keep in regular contact via text, Messenger or WhatsApp with a brief update and a photo or 2. Please contact me should you have any questions, more than happy to discuss options. Where possible it's nice to meet with the homeowner and pet/s in person, or via messenger, zoom etc. prior to the housesit. Fully Vaccinated. Please contact me for availability, I look forward to meeting with you. Take Care Rima

We are both in our early 70's and recently retired. We have always had a dog and cats while our 4 children were growing. Now they all have their own family of animals both dogs and cats that we have grown to love, and when they go on holiday, we care for them. As well as grandparent duties around the country, which of course includes caring for their pets, we enjoy travel, do lots of reading, gardening and have fun cycling around the various cycleways in our local area. We would welcome the opportunity to care for your pets while at the same time enjoying time in your community. We are proud home owners and enjoy time spent in our large garden. We guarantee your privacy while caring for your home and pets.

I am currently running my yoga online business from home and travelling around New Zealand filming my yoga classes, along the way I’m also taking a holiday as my children are all grown up, I’d love to stay in new towns around nz to experience the beauty within each town. I’m tidy and clean and lead a peaceful life. I love cats and dogs, my own have sadly passed on and I miss them so much. I would care for your home as if it was my own and be a lovely friend and care for your pets should you have them. I adore cats, I’m a cat lover but I also love larger dogs as I had a very athletic, both adventurous and laid back massive golden retriever Max, he went every where with me as we both loved to be out and about, equally he was happy to stay home and chill while I went out.

Hey there, I am very much hoping that you choose me to house sit your home, i am responsible, reliable, clean, trustworthy and very respectful. I am a home bodied sort of person and enjoy reading, drawing, watching docos and cooking good food in my down time. I am a chef by trade but am currently working as a gardener/ landscaper as well as a few art projects on the side, so if your garden needs tending to I'll be more than happy to help. I absolutely love all animals and grew up having a few cats and dogs. I have house sat for people in the past but have never used this website to do so. If you choose me you can expect your furry friend (s) to be showered and bathed in love, cuddles and good times. ( if you have pets of cause) otherwise, you can expect your home to be completely and utterly respected and cherished and left in the exact order you left it in. I have just returned home after a year or so travelling overseas and am just looking for my options in terms of accommodation. I heard about this website and thought I'd give it a go. I look forward to hearing from you soon, take care and many thanks. Gemma :)

Hello, We are Christine & David Eyre a couple of expat poms now well and truly settled in God’s own South Island 20 years ago, with children and grandchildren in both hemispheres. Currently no pets as we enjoy the freedom but we have lots of experience having previously owned dogs, cats, fish, rabbits, hamster’s mice and even an elderly tortoise. You will find us a reliable, caring Christian couple, both currently working part time in the IT and Health professions. Christine and I enjoy travel, walking, cycling and swimming, but also can spend time with a good book or two; practical and quite handy in the garden we had a pool in our last home. Having brought up three children we now have a wee bit of freedom to travel, although we enjoy our beautiful home in Tahunanui we would love the opportunity to care for your home and pets in your community and explore further our beautiful country. David & Christine Eyre

We have our own home in Rodney district. We are pretty much retired. Lesley is a registered nurse and Richard a freelance IT specialist doing occasional work from home. At the moment our 2 children in their twenties are in the UK. Circumstances make it necessary for us to return to the UK from May 23rd to September 12th so we will be unavailable during that period. We are pretty much home birds and are very happy to chill and read or make friends with your lovely pets. We have house sat before for a variety of pets - cats, chickens, fish, dogs - and very much enjoyed this. The main reason being that we are animal lovers and Lesley especially is feeling pet deprived at the moment since having to put down our most adored cat Ginger 18 months ago. We have taken the decision not to replace him at for the moment so she has become that annoying person that has to pet everybody's dog on the beach and talk to every cat in the street! We are mature responsible people who totally understand the need to feel that your home and pets are being properly looked after and treated with respect and would be very happy to do this.

We are David and Adrienne Smith and are "active retirees ". We are a friendly, quiet couple, non-smokers, who have travelled extensively both nationally and internationally so as to discover the beauty and complexity of this country and overseas, whilst caring for your home and pets. We are currently based at our home in Auckland, but are ready to travel whenever the opportunity arises. About us: David spent much of his early years on a farm in Matamata, before moving with his family to Auckland. He has worked for Air New Zealand, and its predecessor NAC, for many years as an airline pilot, both short and long haul and is now retired. David is involved in IT support for a couple of charity groups, which can be carried out anywhere there is internet connection. We do not need much internet - its mostly offline work. Adrienne, also retired, has worked as a nurse, teaching assistant and caregiver. She is a keen gardener and loves walking, crafts and reading. We are enjoying this next phase of life, exploring other parts of this beautiful country, and beyond. We recently chose to spend a year in the beautiful Bay of Plenty and then a year based in Christchurch. Now we have returned to Northern parts where we are continuing to care for your furred, finned and feathered families. Our gorgeous bi-colour ragdoll cat is no longer with us, leaving us free to care for your home and pets. We love pets and have significant experience caring for cats, dogs of various sizes and ages, and chooks, goats, cows, fish and birds. Even, on one occasion, an axolotl! As we have no work or family constraints, our two sons and their wives live and work from Auckland, we can offer dedicated service to caring for your home and pet(s) as we would our own.

Garth and I grew up in Africa - Zimbabwe to be exact and were blessed to have a wonderful life style which always included animals. We have been married for 39 years and really still rather enjoy each other. We have 2 adult girls and 7 beautiful grandchildren scattered all over the world. We recently retired early and decided to see more of this beautiful country we have called home for the last 20 years. We own our own house in Tauranga but are travelling around in our caravan so have rented it out. We were farmers in Zimbabwe so were lucky enough to have owned a variety of pets including Horses, dogs - both large (German Shepards, Labradors mainly) and small, cats, guinea pigs, angora rabbits, birds as well as a few others including a couple of wild ones & a pig. Cats have always been a constant in our home and we recently lost our little 17 year old cat so look forward to loving your pets for a little while. We are tidy and reliable and will treat your home as if it was our own and love your pets in your absence allowing you to relax and enjoy your holiday without worrying about them

I do have experiences and references in caring for cats and dogs. I also worked for 12 years as a dog and cat groomer, which helps in the experience and identification of animal behavior. I am a resident, Brazilian and I have lived in New Zealand for over 8 years. I am currently transitioning from the south island to the north island with no set job yet and going back to house sitting will help me save money on rent. A strong reason to consider me to taking care of your pets is the passion that made me spend 12 years working in the pet industry as a dog groomer and dog walker, I really miss the daily company of these little angels. in my spare time i like to draw, do yoga and walks...

We are a newly married couple who both have had past housesitting experience as well as pet care experience, having looked after a variety of pets from, dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish and a turtle. Both of us have an affinity towards dogs, but would lovingly look after any pets who need cuddles in your absence. Jacob works full-time as a builder and Ebony studies part-time through Massey University and works part-time. Ebony often studies from home in the mornings and works in the afternoons, which means she would be home for a good portion of the day to ensure your pets have plenty of company. We are both mature and reliable individuals, and as sitters you can expect good communications, pet lovers who will follow your instructions, oodles of cuddles for your pets and a tidy well kept home for you to return to. We look forward to meeting you and your pets very soon. Warm regards Ebony & Jacob

I am an animal lover, affectionate and responsible person. English is my second language but I can follow instructions without problem. In my country of origin (Chile) I have worked for 11 years as a veterinarian, therefore I am the right person to care for and accompany your pets. I know how stressful it is for them to change their routines, which is why I can take care of them at home while you are away. See you

Kia Ora, We are a couple in our thirties who are settling in to New Zealand from abroad (Aimee from Australia, Tetteh from the US). We met in London 6 years ago, and are very much enjoying living in beautiful Aotearoa. We are enjoying house sitting as we love the opportunity to see different parts of the country, love animals, and have flexibility given we largely work from home. We are both working professionals - Aimee is a Social Worker having spent the last 13 years working in the criminal justice system, and Tetteh is a Forensic Psychologist. Tetteh also has a education background and has previously worked as a University Lecturer in Forensic Psychology, however is also a qualified Psychologist. He is currently contracting to organisations doing training and facilitation, one on one therapy, and group therapy for those with substance use issues. Aimee also works from home and contracts to Ministry of Justice completing court reports for criminal courts, as well as doing training and facilitation and restorative practice with tertiary institutions and organisations. We both largely work from home, however do have face to face meetings or workshops in town a few times per week. We both come from homes where we have adored our pets. Aimee grew up with cats, and has a family cat named Sunny who is the family princess and adored by everyone. Tetteh is a HUGE animal lover, and takes up every opportunity to spend time with family and friends who have animals (particularly dogs!). We are both very responsible people who do not smoke, are outgoing and trustworthy, and happy to ensure all steps are taken to ensure your animals and property are adequately cared for. If we are chosen as house sitters for your property, we can guarantee your home and animals will be in very safe and capable hands. We are both extremely approachable, pro-active and respectful individuals who understand the trust that goes into allowing others to stay in your property and care for your loved ones. We are very responsive and are happy to provide very regular updates on your home and animals, as well as to provide any reassurance that might be needed :) We are super happy to meet you - either in person or in Skype - to discuss any questions there might be, or any other info! Hope to speak with you soon, Aimee and Tetteh

Hi there, We are a professional couple (both Deputy Principals) with 2 young children (8yrs and 5yrs). We are active, love the outdoors and love animals. We are happy to look after any pets. Our youngest child is very gentle with pets, as is our eldest who is very used to animals. She likes to help us feed, wash and take care of them, and where appropriate, take them for walks. Rochelle was bought up on a farm and is comfortable with livestock and farm dogs. We have had pets before, including 2 shih tzu dogs, which we bred from for a number of years, so are used to dogs of all ages. We are also equally comfortable looking after cats. We maintain a clean and tidy household and will respect any property that we are in. We will take great care of your home and love your pets like our own. We have had a number of house sits now and all of our reviews have been excellent. Kind Regards, Shane and Rochelle

Steve and I have been married for almost 42 years and are semi-retired parents and grandparents. We are young at heart and enjoy spending time with our family, grandchildren, and friends. Steve is a part time IT contractor and often works from home. I also work part time, as a self employed private house cleaner. Working part time gives us both the freedom to enjoy not only our hobbies and interests but the grandchildren as well - we often pick them up from school and spend time together. Steve & I both have several different hobbies and interests that we enjoy when we have the chance. I enjoy reading, listening to music, knitting, English paper piecing, hand quilting, and cardmaking. Steve has a great interest in NZ Railway History, railway modelling, listening to music, and gardening. We both enjoy an active lifestyle - anything that involves walking - as well as visiting local garage sales and markets. We have housesat for family and cared for their pets, and we have had cats & birds almost all of our married life. We have been dog sitting our grandchildrens’ wee dog on several occasions over the last 2 years. As a homeowner you can expect us to totally respect and care for your home and property and as a private housecleaner and a self confessed perfectionist you would be coming home to a clean and tidy house at the end of your time away.

We are responsible home owners ourselves, looking to house sit while our home is extensively renovated. We have always had pets, both cats and dogs and love both. We have two children (intermediate and primary school aged) who are great with animals and would provide plenty of attention. As homeowners ourselves we understand the role of caring for a property and garden and can be trusted to take good care of yours.

Hi there. My name is Ruth. I am semi-retired, fit and active. I have had dogs and later also cats and chickens all my life. I am confident handling large dogs as I frequently have my son and daughter-in-law's two Labradors to stay for weeks at a time. I'm a keen gardener and am happy to do any gardening work while housesitting. I also have a passion for restoring/renovating old houses and so confident about tackling any issues that may arise with your home while you are away. I spent most of my paid working in the health and social sector. I no longer go out to work, but continue to work from home researching, writing and advocating in my specialist areas. This means I would be at home most of the time to care for your pets and keep them company. I hope that you will consider entrusting me with your house and pets while you are away and look forward to meeting you. Kind regards Ruth

Hello. We are Lisa and Roy, living in Auckland for Lisa's study and enjoying seeing what this part of the country has to offer now that covid restrictions have been lifted. I'm studying and Roy's retired so we have the flexibility to spend time away from home. We own our own home back in the Manawatu, and as your housesitters, we will care for your home and pets in the way we would want ours cared for. Our hope is that you will come home to a sense of welcome and happy pets. We lead a pretty quiet life; lots of reading, research, coffee in the sun in a park or a cafe. We've shared our lives with our own furbabies - some very spoilt Golden Retrievers and rescue cats from the SPCA - who have ruled our hearts. But now that they're not with us we are happy to share some love with other people's pets. Regards Lisa and Roy

Retired, non smoker, healthy, vaccinated (3). Hi, I’m Dorothy, 68. I am retired after 30 years in last job. I live in the Hauraki area (Paeroa) and I like walking, gardening, food, being with friends and family, having pets as good company and am a champion for SPCA and WAP as animals need our help as well. I was raised on a dairy farm, lots of animals and pets while growing up and I live on a dairy farm at the moment, have been house sitting for my ex-colleagues as well for the last couple of years. This included cats, dogs, sheep, cattle, chooks and an eel (enjoyed that). I have rebooked me again and again and I am happy to help them. One of the house sits was in the hills, very private and tranquil which I enjoyed the peace and serenity there. I have also done for H/S sits in Tauranga, Papamoa and Wellington, their references are attached. Lately I have been helping out friends/family with sitting for their friends in different parts of NZ. It would be a pleasure to look after your home and/or pets. I would be happy to send photos/updates while you are away (e-mail or text only, not involved with social media sorry), so you can relax knowing they are being loved and cared for. It was a joke at ex-work that I liked things tidy and clean. Please check my references (refs recently have been verbal only, all nice to hear though) and happy for you to contact them if you wish to check how it went. Bye for now. Dorothy

Hello there, My name is Donna and I'm a 60 year old mother of three children. I grew up in the Hutt Valley and have spent most of my life in the Wellington/Wairarapa area. For the past 10 years, I've been a healthcare assistance at a number of retirement villages in the Wellington region. While not working, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, going for bush walks and reading a good novel. I've previously done the odd house sit for friends and family, however with my children having all now left home and coming up to retirement, I'm keen to look at housesitting more frequently. I love animals and our family has all grown up with both cats and dogs. Since a young age, we owned family dogs with the first being Budda who was a Lab x Dobberman and the most recent being Bella who was a Border Collie x Irish Settler. I understand it can be stressful for pet/house owners when they go away to not have someone watching over their homes or keeping their pets company. I get a real buzz out of helping people and providing reassurance that when they go away, they're pets/house will be in good hands. I'm aware that all pets have their own individual needs and am respectful and accepting of these. I consider myself to be a reliable, responsible and trustworthy person. I can't wait to look after your pets and house and look after them as if they were my own. Chat soon. Donna

Hi, my name is Carolina, 37 years old, I am a NZ resident and currently living with my boyfriend Tomas who has just turned 41. I am an accountant and I am currently working in a software company. I play hockey and try to go to the gym at least 3 times a week to counteract the chocolate and ice cream I eat while watching Netflix (my absolutely favourite activity!!!). At least 3 or 4 times a week I work from home and I love my job as it gives me absolute flexibility with my schedule. I’ve also recently started my MBA in the University of Auckland so I am also spending quite some time studying and going through assignments. Tomas is an Industrial and Logistics Engineer studying for an Operations and Logistics postgraduate degree (Remotely - from a Chilean University). He is particularly fond of dogs since he is super active (of course he is not a smoker!) and he enjoys going for really long walks. He is training now for the Gold Coast marathon on the first days of July and aiming to finish it in less than 3 hours!! (overall he has done over 17 marathons!!) We live in Mission Bay, but it doesn't allow us to get any pets so we love the idea of housesitting as it gives us the opportunity to apply our fondness of animals and at the same time it gives us the possibility to try different neighbourhoods or areas until we decide where we could buy our house in the future! We have experience with different pets as we both had dogs and cats while growing up and we've also did some housesitting during our youth and recently through this website!! You can check our references as we had amazing experiences so far in different parts of New Zealand We are available upon request for further interviews, so please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!! We look forward to meeting you soon! Caro & Tomi
I am a well organised & respectful person & very reliable/trusting after 31 year…
I am a well organised & respectful person & very reliable/trusting after 31 years in the international banking & finance industry & private consultancy space. I am now working on a NZ Government (MFAT) international aid & development programme since November 2020 that covers 12 countries across the Pacific. I lived & travelled overseas for almost 20 years & returned to NZ in mid 2020 during the midst of Covid & am now double vaccinated & double boosted as well. I have the utmost integrity while maintaining a solid moral compass & set of values. I am also an avid & long-term part time student & I am in the throes of completing my PhD qualification by 2024. I/we are interested in house sitting because I love travel & visiting new places after having travelled & worked overseas in many countries since the mid 1990s. I have house sat for many personal friends & work colleagues in the past including pet minding including a few housesitting assignments with the Housesitting Company now under my belt ranging from 10 days up to 6 weeks (which I am undertaking as I write this). The range of animals is also extensive & has included dogs, cats, goats & even kuni kuni pigs while I have also been charged with administering medicine. I come from a rural & farming background & so I am very comfortable & accustomed to being around animals of all shapes & sizes & descriptions. My hobbies include study, travel, health & fitness, fishing, diving, hunting & most outdoor & water activities. You can rest assured that any required tasks of me during a house sit will be fully complied with including pet minding & that your property will be in exactly the same pristine condition as you left it with all agreed rules respected. My partner, Evangeline, flies in & out from/to overseas as she is working offshore & so there may be the odd occasion when she will accompany me on a house sit if she is NZ at the time but I will advise you should this be the case.
Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to read our profile. Our names are Ch…
Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to read our profile. Our names are Charlotte (Lottie) Jepson and James O'Hern, we're both 30 years old and originally from the UK. We've been in New Zealand for over 3 years and we're looking to make this wonderful country our home. We've fallen in love with the place and see ourselves living here long term. The reason for house sitting at the moment is because we've been travelling regularly between the UK and NZ in the last 12 months. Due to the shorter stints in NZ, usually 8-12 weeks at a time, getting a lease on a house for short periods is challenging and we'd prefer to spend time with friends, camping or housesitting which offers more variety and flexibility for us. Our interests are hiking, camping, cycling, surfing, reading, cooking and travelling overseas - almost anything outdoorsy. Between us we've had a several pets of our own, completed a number of housesits, and regularly look after relatives pets, so we have a lot of experience looking after animals and making sure they're well fed, cleaned, walked, loved and rested - plus we all keep each other company which is just as important. We're both able to work remotely, so we're always able to stay at home for long periods of the day to look after pets. If you choose us to look after your pet(s) and home, they will be in safe hands. We're a clean and organised so we can stay on top of managing the house will make sure things get done on time. We're also aware that regular updates and good communication will help you enjoy your time away. We're respectful and mindful of the space we're using so you'll find the house in the same condition when you return home. We're happy to share any further information or chat things through on the phone or via video call to get to know each other before making a decision. Thanks for considering our profile, we hope to see you soon. James & Lottie

Retirees new to house-sitting available to care for your home and pets anywhere in New Zealand as their own. We have always had pets mainly cats and dogs a few chooks in our lives from childhood, and friends have asked us to look after their furry friends, birds and we have a lovely very old Lab stay with us from time to time. After losing our lovely rescue dog Lucy during covid we are pet less for the first time in our lives. However, we get our cuddles from our children's dogs and cats, along with Sammie when he stays. We have owned businesses in the electronic engineering, manufacturing, and domestic cleaning industries employing up to 30 people. Brian is the ideals person with the ability to see a project from concept to market and I looked after the finances and administration. We retired 8 years ago, have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren and have always liked refurbishing our home and gardening which is a source of great pleasure to us both. We are always on the go, helping in the community, renovating family homes, out tramping, yachting, cycling, skiing, travelling and spending time with our grandchildren. Brian can turn his hand to most things in the home and garden but does know his limits and will call in professionals if need be. I am a cook, cleaner and gardener who loves to talk to humans and animals. We are both members of Rotary and like contributing to our community and Janice is a volunteer at the Community Op Shop and SPACE (a program for first time parents) and both Brian and Janice volunteer at Kai Tahi (eat together) community meals. We are doers, both physically fit and enjoy life. As born and bred Aucklanders, we are enjoying travelling NZ, house and pet sitting gives us the opportunity to get see the country whilst fulfilling our aim to see as many regions and cities as possible. We feel our skill set is ideal for housesitting and pet sitting, having the opportunity to hang with your furry babies and look after your home as our own, giving you peace of mind to enjoy your time away. Brian and Janice

Mature, sensible professional (semi retired) with partner, both with love for animals. Remko (originally from Holland back in 1972) and Caroline (from China). Both non smokers, enjoy clean living with clean criminal international and local records. We met in Malaysia while working as volunteers with cats and dogs for SPCA in early 2015. After that we did a period of volunteers with tigers in Thailand. Highlight of our lives. Great experience to be so close and intimate with a wild animals. Few scars but lived to tell all the tales. After we worked with them, cats and dogs are so easy. Next, hoping to spend some time with elephants. We have done home sitting in NZ as well as offshore in Europe and China as well as a 4 week stay in Malaysia. Although we like to travel, live clean and appreciate clean houses so your home will be looked after. Although not fantastic green fingers, we will happily mow your grass and pull a few weeds as required. As we both still work part time, appreciate wi-fi so we can still receive emails etc. Sky is not important cause we rather be outside enjoying open air as against watching TV. Also since 2017, a volunteer firefighter originally with Otorohanga but would consider helping any local volunteer brigade. Rem has in the past also looked after NZ Police dogs while their handler has gone on holiday so the average dog should be relatively easy. Happy to walk the dogs and where possible, take them to the beach if possible. Hopefully have secure parking for the BMW as well? Since Feb 2017 we have lived in Otorohanga and have looked after various local and surrounding properties. A 550 acre grazing farm and a very upmarket lifestyle house. Although its been fun here, we are ready for another area from now on. Long term housesits preferred but will consider short options as well.

Hello I'm Maggie, an Auckland based music teacher, photojournalist and jazz musician with experience house sitting both in NZ and abroad. I have recently returned from New York where I released my latest album and am looking for short and longer term housesits while I build a place of my own on my section. A little about myself: I am a responsible and reliable house-sitter and have cared for homes and pets around Auckland, and New York so experienced. I am a non-smoker, very clean and respectful of the homes I look after. I appreciate I am staying in someone's home and not just a house and make sure that the place is exactly as you left it when you return. I love animals and will happily care for your pets while you are away. Happy to provide excellent references if needed.

My children and I lived on a 10 acre block in Waimauku for several years and cared for a variety of animals including cats, dogs, hens, sheep, cows, and the occasional rabbit and duck! Because of Geoff's years spent at sea his opportunities to care for pets have been limited, but in his younger years his family owned cats, dogs and budgies. Geoff and I spend the summer months,October through to April, in New Zealand, which is when we are available for house sitting. We have a yacht berthed in Penang, Malaysia, and we are there during New Zealand's winter months. Geoff has spent nearly 13 years cruising in South East Asia, and I joined him in 2012. Geoff is a shipwright and is capable of servicing a wide range of appliances, machinery etc.He served in the New Zealand navy for 8 years and after leaving he worked as a commercial diver whilst building his first yacht. After sailing for many years in the Pacific, Australia, Africa and Europe, he settled in Brisbane, where he set up his shipwright business. He then built his second yacht and set sail for South East Asia. My previous working life involved a variety of positions, including working as a supervisor in a childcare centre in Waimauku, Auckland, and then as a sterile services technician at North Shore hospital in Auckland. I have two sons who live in the Netherlands and Belgium, and 1 grandson. Because of our lifestyle on the yacht we are organised and tidy in our habits. We enjoy exploring new environments, so house sitting promises to be a great way to meet new people, have some much-needed interaction with animals again, and reunite us with different parts of our country after being away for so many years. Although we are away from New Zealand at times, we are always able to participate in video calls via either Skype or What's App.

Hi there, we are Charis and Imogen. Both from the UK and travelling around New Zealand on our working holiday. Charis was raised in London and grew up with 3 cats, 2 of which, sadly passed away over the Covid period. He now has 2 new cats back in the UK: Margo and Milou and really loves having animals around him, as he feels most at ease when there are pets in the home. Charis works as an artist and painter, specialising in oil on canvas portraits. I (Imogen) grew up in Cambridge in a busy household of teachers and we never had pets, much to my disappointment! To make up for it, my parents always looked after our neighbours pets during the school holidays - which we still do to this day. I regularly look after my neighbours cat Maiko and their dogs Budica (a corgi) and Keira (a Newfoundland) as well as, their goldfish. I have worked for 3 years in corporate marketing as a Video Producer, and I hope to continue my career into Film and TV production. We both have a sense of adventure and came to New Zealand on a working holiday to explore the beautiful scenery and meet new people. Please take a look through our references and feel free to contact our referees, who will happily vouch for our characters. Both of us are patient and respectful people, and we look forward to caring for your pets and homes while you are away. Charis & Imogen

Hi, my name is Tammy. I am a freelance copywriter who has been working in the advertising industry for 16 years. I work from home, but occasionally need to be in the office for meetings. So while house sitting, I can be with your pets during the day as much as possible. I have previously lived in Sydney and came back to NZ in 2016. Since then I've worked in both Auckland and Wellington and spent a lot of time in Taranaki, which is where I grew up. I am happy to travel around, my base is Taranaki for now, but it's easy for me to travel to where your pets are. I love animals! I don't have a pet of my own, but I have spent a lot of time looking after family and friends pets, mostly dogs and cats. I grew up around farm animals as a child and teen during school holidays on the family farm, so am more than comfortable around small to large animals. I have recently sat for big and small dogs, puppies to elderly dogs and inside and outside cats. I love to figure out your pets routines and make them feel as comfortable with me in their home and become their 'person' while I am in your home. It brings me so much joy to make them feel as happy as possible. I am familiar with giving Ventolin through a spacer and oral medication for dogs, eye drops, supplements and any type of medication needed. If you take me on as a house sitter I will always respect your space and personal belongings and I'll always do my best for you and your pets. I look forward to meeting you and your pets and taking care of your home whilst you are away.

I am a hardworking primary school teacher who loves to spend time around nature and animals and travel around NZ in my spare time. I own my own home as well as a rental property, so am responsible and understanding towards other home owners. Growing up in rural Waikato with a father who is a conservationist, I was surrounded by all sorts of animals. I've had many pets/farm animals: guinea pigs, rabbits, birds, chickens, sheep, goats, ducks, geese, rodents, lizards, cats and a dog. I enjoy going for daily walks - rain or shine - so would relish the opportunity to share it with a furry friend. Some days in teaching it can feel like I'm trying to herd cats (herding sheep is easier in my experience). So, if I can take charge and responsibility for the safety and well-being a class of 30+ little people, I'm confident I am capable of doing the same for a few furry or feathered friends.

Hi there! We have sold our lifestyle block, dream home and animals, preferring to travel and the company of new friends. We are currently undecided about our final destination but looking forward to the journey. We resigned from our jobs in November 2015 and have spent the last 4 years + travelling the world and house sitting. We have enjoyed the hospitality of many kind, like minded people across the world, have wonderful memories and enjoyed finding our way in new lands and communities. We love life, people, animals, good wine, good coffee, good food and great company. Our pet-caring experience is extensive and varied - dogs (large & small, rescue), cats, fish, ponies, sheep, quails, chickens etc. If you have pets, be assured that we truly appreciate the security they feel with a familiar schedule/exercise/playtime routine and promise you that your customs, requirements and feeding schedule will be adhered to. However, we know from experience, it's not just animals who can suffer from separation anxiety! To remedy this we send regular updates of your pets. We are practical people and as experienced house sitters are used to dealing with a wide variety of issues - blown fuses, power outages, water issues, pools, security, etc. In summary: - - We offer honesty, reliability and commitment. - We guarantee security-conscious, respectful care of your property. - We assure you that your pets will have plenty of attention and loving company whilst you are away. We are always keen to Skype, Whatsapp or Messenger to get to know you and answer any important questions.. We very much look forward to hearing from you. Police checks and additional international references are available on request. Warmest, Jenny and Peter.

We are both retired/semi- retired health professionals and keen to spend some quality periods in various regions of New Zealand to get the feel of living there for a short time. We both do gym a few times a week and have recently done a trip overseas where we walked for at least 3 hours a day. We have previously housesat for friends and cared for their animals. We have also housesat for a couple in Sydney on numerous occasions and they keep inviting us back to do the same. They all came back to homes that were kept neat and tidy and animals that had been cared for well. We have recently done a housesit north of Auckland, where we cared for, walked and cuddled Ruby and Roxy, collies with a hint of greyhound. There are three photos from that house stay. We will look after your home like it is our own and ensure that it is spick and span. A bit of background to our pets: Growing up Colleen owned spaniels and Rob had a cat and a bull terrier. When our children were still at home, we owned a black Labrador, a bull mastiff and a rescue fluffy dog. When our Labrador and first bull mastiff passed on, we acquired another bull mastiff and a Staffordshire terrier! The photos are of second bull mastiff, Rastus, Toffee the Staffie and Puddles the rescue dog. Since then we have downsized and moved to a townhouse which doesn’t really suit animals, but we miss them. We will love and care for your pets as we did ours. Cats tend to gravitate to us, and while we don’t have our own, we do get cuddles from our daughter’s cats, Charlotte and Stitch and they live close by. We also cared for our daughter’s cat for five months in recent years, while they did renovations. Charlotte came back to visit us regularly once she moved back home! We look forward to chatting to you about your home and your pets’ needs.

My name's Tash and I live in Tamahere with my husband. We are not allowed pets where we rent and I miss having a family pet. I grew up with cats and dogs & love the joy they bring. I'm looking to have some more independence from my marriage, so am looking for 2 weeks to 2 month house sits ideally. I work from home, as I am starting my own virtual business support service. It's very exciting! My previous role was as a housing case worker in homeless prevention. I'm a house proud renter, whose loyal and reliable.

I, Caroline Mundy, is a recently retired Civil/Structural engineer. I was born and raised in Malaysia, but went to Britain for my tertiary studies. I graduated from Cardiff University with an honours degree in Civil and Structural Engineering and later gained a Masters degree in the same subject at Sheffield University. I am married to Chris Mundy, an editor at NZQA, Wellington. Chris and I grew up with pets in our families, and from this we gained a life-long love of animals. Over the years, we have had many different animals as pets, including a sheep which eventually died of old age!, a golden retriever, a duckling, rabbits, a weta and doves, all of which were much loved by us and our two children. We also adopted the school's cockatoo and axolotl during school holidays. We took our friend's cat to be with our family whilst they worked overseas. Sadly, our adorable all white cat named Pearl has passed away and we no longer have any pets. So, it would be really lovely to be able to look after someone else's pets. As we no longer have children living with us, we have more freedom to explore and travel to new places, which we both love doing. It also enables us to take a break from our rather busy lives by housesitting every now and then. Having pets with our accommodation is an added bonus to us. We are responsible and respectful people who want to help other families have peace of mind whilst they are away. We are friendly, trustworthy, do not smoke nor drink alcohol, are not party people and are Christians. Please look through our references and feel free to contact our referees, who will be more than happy to vouch for our character and our ability to look after pets and homes. We have joined the House Sitting Company not too long ago and have not done many house sits because we prefer weekends or short sits. This is because Chris still works full time and he would like to avoid taking too much leave for house sits where possible. We are both fully vaccinated. Yours sincerely Caroline and Chris Mundy References Graham Worthington Mike Fearn

Hi there, My name is Nancy and I am a clean living and retired lady. I have 2 daughters who are both married with children (3 Grandchildren) and I have had my own businesses in Takapuna, Auckland, selling antiques and old jewellery. I retired from this in 2009. I also owned and managed a Motor Inn in Brisbane, Australia. I have owned and managed my own houses most of my life and I have always had a cat (unfortunately had to have my most recent pussy cat put down last year at a ripe old age of 15years. His name was William and he was an Ocicat). I am extremely responsible, love animals and any homeowner could expect their pets to be loved and cherished just as if they were my own and your property well maintained, kept secure and clean and tidy. I keep very fit and active and enjoy walking, so if you have any dogs that require this I will be very happy to take them out with me. Thank you for taking the time to consider my online profile and I hope to meet with you and your fur babies soon. Warmest, Nancy.

Hi there! My name is Frances and I live in central Dunedin. I am an Artist that works from home. I find this works in well with offering my services as a house and pet sitter, not only does it allow me to regularly travel around both the South and North Island of New Zealand, but it enables me to spend quality time at home befriending and looking after your pets, giving them that one on one company, attention and continuity of care and routines that they are used too. I am a mature single woman, with no dependents and have an animal-loving personality. I come from a large Dutch, farming family from the Waikato, so from a young age I started house and pet sitting for family and friends. I am a very reliable, honest, clean and tidy person with good communication skills, with references that can verify this to put your mind at rest:) I have had many house sitting positions over the years, the most current being for Alan, in Otautau, Southland (see reference attached). This was a large property with one gorgeous dog and I cared for him for around three months. Over Christmas I house sat for Rosie and Ian in Christchurch for 6 weeks, they had one dog, two cats, a goldfish and a vege patch (see other reference attached). These were both very enjoyable experiences, I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with their pets and sharing their spaces with them. I also have a picture of Casper the dog in my profile - as you can see, we are out taking him for a bit of a driving lesson :) As my references will tell you, I am a trustworthy and respectful person who communicates well. I am very reliable, clean and tidy and have been told by past home owners that what they appreciated most was not only did they come home to a clean and tidy house, but they could see that their animals were well cared for and loved. I am a bright creative friendly person who you will find a delight to have in your home. Thank you for taking the time to consider my online profile and feel free to call my referees, who will be more than happy to vouch for my character and skills as a house sitter and pet minder. I do hope to meet with you and your pets shortly. Warmest regards...Frances:)

Hi there, I have travelled the world and loved it, but these days I love it as much when I can travel in NZ, and stay in a private home rather than a hotel. I have always loved animals, domesticated and feral, and have had lots of pets over the years. I don't currently have a pet due to my circumstances so I get that pleasure from doting on others' animals. My neighbour has a lovely cat ("Jay Jay") who considers my home part of his domain and routinely visits, takes all the cuddles he can tease out of me, and sleeps peacefully on my bed. I think my place is his refuge from the young children he lives with who haven't yet learned how to pamper him as he clearly believes he deserves ;) After owning my own homes consistently since 1985 I am currently renting in Auckland while my new home is being designed & built on a semi-rural block in the Waikato. I've always taken good care of my own executive-style homes and anything belonging to someone else which I have been responsible for. I am an orderly, neat and tidy person who likes cleanliness, with a bit of ordered chaos too. I have been managing my own several businesses, and my 5th one since 1994. I thoroughly enjoy medium and large dogs, and affectionate cats, and have had both in my family for many years. I grew up with dogs and cats as pets, and I ran a backyard aviary to breed budgies and cockatiels. It was natural, then, for my own children to also grow up with multiple pets and they are better people as a result. We had cats, birds, fish, frogs, and a turtle, and we cared for our neighbours and friends' pets too while they were out of town. In my teens I was blessed with many opportunities to spend considerable time on relatives' farms in the Waikato tending to beef cattle, sheep, dairy cows (pedigree Jersey), horses, ducks, geese, and working dogs with, of course, the annual cycles on lambing, docking, drenching, shearing, calving, hand-rearing, hay-making & feeding out. I loved every minute of it! I recently got the hang of milking goats on a friend's farm in the Waikato. That was a new twist on a familiar theme! :) Riding a camel in the UAE was a treat! However, dogs are my special interest and, when I have my own home built on my block, I intend to breed pedigree dogs. I haven't yet decided between Golden Retrievers or black, long-haired Alsatians. I love both. I am normally a very busy manager but I've developed a love for periods of quiet and rest, particularly in the company of animals. So I do like to take time out regularly for rest, reflection, business planning, contemplation about my clients' complex problems. A few days, a week or more taking care of your lovely home and pets allows me opportunity for these. If I am able to occasionally meet with a client in your area, that would be a bonus, but not essential. I also have a daughter & her family in Taranaki, so if I am caring for your home & animals in that region and can visit them, I'd love that. I would be very happy to take your dog with me to those meetings or to visit my grandchildren, under control of course, but only if you're happy with that and we agree before you leave. One more thing... I have only a few digital photos of me with animals but I will add more as I complete pet-sitting assignments. Meantime you can see Jay Jay (grey/white), and a friend's black cat, our own Milo on my lap watching TV (he loved doing that), my grandson & me petting alpacas on a friend's property, and me in the Red Panda enclosure at Auckland Zoo :). I promise to take good care of your lovely home and of your beloved pets and livestock for you. They will feel well-loved. Kind regards, Ross.

Hi, my name is Maggie. I am a mature and reliable woman, finding myself in an 'empty nest'. Without son and without pets! I've been a homeowner for decades, and so I know the value of having someone who will take good care of your home. Until now I've always had pets, so will love taking care of cats, dogs, chickens and any other animals you may have. If you have a garden or outdoor area, I'm happy to make sure things are maintained. I'm confident in rural and urban environments, having lived in both. Why am I interested in housesitting? I mainly work from home (computer) so am flexible about where I am located. I'm based in Auckland and am employed by the University of Auckland, but enjoy discovering new places now and then. And I have family and friends in other parts of the country so like to be closer to them. I don't smoke, nor am I a party animal. Boringly safe! My experience as a house and pet sitter includes occasional weekends, a three month stint, and everything in between. I've befriended elderly cats, huge dogs, goats and even hand milked a cow as part of my 'sitting' experiences. Happy to answer any questions as you make your decisions.

Maria (53) and I (65) have recently retired and both of us are very fit and active. I have been an engineering manager as well as a water and wastewater engineer and Maria has been a contract gardener and property manager. I am currently a care giver 2 days per week on Mondays and Tuesdays although there is some flexibility around that, We have now completed most of our outstanding projects at home and anticipate having more time to explore NZ and catch up with friends. We have 2 adult children who have their own lives and we no longer have any pets. House sitting now seems a good option for us. To date we have never house sat except for friends and family. Usually we stay in motels and use AirBnb. We have owned our own houses since 1980 except for a period of 2 years years when we rented in Wellington. This was because we relocated after the Christchurch earthquakes which was where we were both born. We have owned a number of dogs and cats including a samoid, a corgi and an old english sheep dog. We have also had a variety of rabbits, guinea pigs, a white rat, mice and budgies. Whatever your pet we will love it and look after it as if it were our own. As a homeowner you will find we have complementary skills as well as looking after pets. These include home handy man, gardening and housekeeping skills. We both do substantial walks every day so exercising your pet will be a pleasure. More importantly we are honest and reliable and have excellent communication skills ensuring good feedback to you if anything unusual were to occur.

We are an active retired couple who enjoy walking and biking who have always had cats and dogs over the years, and as we now live in an apartment that does not allow pets, we really look forward to our housesitting positions that include them. We are both responsible and respectful and look forward to meeting and looking after your beloved pets while you are on holiday . Over the last 6 yrs we have looked after dogs, cats and chickens and as we are active enjoy the exercise for us and the animals. As we now have a lot of time on our hands, we thought this is a great way to see our beautiful country. We will have no problem getting references and always treat your home as our own We are shortly sitting for one of them for the 5th time. We hopefully look forward to meeting you and your pets in the future and hope that you will consider us as your housesitters. Brenda and Mike Dring
I'm a 58yr old woman, fit and active, engaged in my community, working part-time…
I'm a 58yr old woman, fit and active, engaged in my community, working part-time and currently able to have some flexibility around where I live. I rented my own home in AKL to tenants for a year while I took an opportunity in the Bay of Plenty. I am hoping to buy a home in Cambridge (Waipa NZ) or nearby, as I have fallen in love with it during several recent visits. I'd like to spend time there as a temporary resident before I commit to a purchase. I plan to sell my home when my tenant's lease expires, and therefore require short-term accommodation from mid-Sept to early Dec 2023. Short-term rentals are proving to be scarce in this region for the whole block of time. Because I work from home on an Auckland-based project, I prefer to be within a sensible commute to AKL (ideally less than 2 hrs) for occasional meetings and to keep in touch with friends and family. I am a landlord/lady of one (soon to be two properties) so I have a deep appreciation of the trust we take in letting strangers live in our homes. Fortunately, I have an excellent property manager and tenants. I have previously house-sat in my younger years, in CHC. My family and I have always had excellent reviews on rental accommodation sites such as AirBnB. I travel to CHC to mind my brother's small dog when he goes out of town and I have loved becoming his favourite aunt. As a family, we had cats but after losing two to old age and lymphoma respectively, I haven't wanted to have my heart broken by losing one again. I am known for my "next level" degree of home cleanliness, and I don't smoke or party! If I am trusted to care for your home, I will follow your instructions to a tee, I will respect it as if it were my own, and you will return to find it as you left it (possibly cleaner!). I'm handy in the garden, happy to mow lawns and keep on top of maintenance. As a Project Manager, if you need any work done on your home in your absence, you can leave it with me to manage the works and keep everyone on schedule!

Hello! Chris and Rae here!! We are very careful and responsible people. An older couple, semi retired, we have had house sitters in our home and have been very grateful for the way it was cared for. We want to do the same for you. Our Birman cat Coco - if she was still alive, would vouch for the love and attention any cat in our care would get. We miss her terribly. We want contact with other cats. We would like to stay in some areas in NZ and get to know them better. Especially by the water! - being sailing people..... We would love to take good care of your home and cat(s) or fish or well behaved dog - we love walking!!! - so that you have a carefree holiday. Maybe next year we will continue our travels around the world and visit our family - in the meantime we will look after yours while you travel.

Eight years ago, we decided to have a change of lifestyle. We sold our backpackers hostel and bought a large caravan because we love new areas to explore. In the past we have had corporate careers, managed holiday parks, and been custodians/cooks at a ski lodge. We have had dogs (sadly no longer) and have lived with family on their lifestyle block looking after the chooks, goat and dog. We still love caravan life but would also like to try the housesitting experience in different parts of NZ. (If you have a spare spot for us to put our caravan whilst we look after your property with tender loving care then that would be a real bonus but not a necessity.) As housesitters we would ensure that you would come back to your home after you have been away and find your pets (if you have them) well-loved and your home as you left it.

I am a mature single lady. I am going to be in between homes for a few months so thought I would house sit so as not to impose too much on family and friends. I have house sat in the past mainly for friends. I have my own cat William and my sister has kindly agreed to look after him during this time. If you decide to have me house sit for you, you can expect your home and pet(s) to be well looked after. I am happy to water plants, mow lawns etc.

Hello there! We are a married, semi-retired professional couple in our early 60’s. We are looking for house sitting opportunities across New Zealand. Stuart has a doctorate degree from the University of California and has been involved in medical research for 30 years. He has held senior positions in the pharmaceutical industry in the USA and New Zealand. Upon returning to New Zealand, Stuart set up a consultancy business in medical research. Alicia has a Masters Degree in Engineering and has worked in the medical sector in the USA. She now teaches music in our local community. We have two daughters in their late twenties; one is a doctor at Auckland Hospital, and the other works in the finance sector in New York. We love the outdoors and enjoy tramping, cycling, and boating. We also love to travel, both around New Zealand and internationally. When we are not travelling, we live on our small lifestyle block in the Manawatu. We have had dogs and cats in the past. We also have had ponies and horses on our property as well as sheep and cattle. We are very comfortable around animals and caring for their needs. We have had house sitting experience in New Zealand. We have also made extensive use of AirBnB during our travels and have accumulated over 55 excellent reviews. We take great care in looking after property and pets as we would if they are our own. We look forward to chatting with you further and hopefully the opportunity to meet you and your pets in person.

Maewyn I have a Welsh name my mother fancied, not because I am of Welsh heritage. I’m a retired Primary School and ESOL teacher and occasionally do some English for Students of Other Languages if needed, from home or wherever I am. I use Skype or WeChat for overseas students and those living in Christchurch come to our home. If you choose us to look after your home and your precious pets, I can continue this work which does not take up much time per week. Ken and I have been married for 32 years and love seeing different parts of NZ. It is at a time in our lives when we are fit and well and able to enjoy visiting other places. We plan to take our e-bikes and enjoy a ride with other biking groups. We also enjoy playing Table Tennis and would look for a club in your area. I love knitting and reading and recently joined a Book Discussion Group. We have four children between us. Two live in the N.I. and two in the S.I. providing us with fast maturing grandchildren. We both love pets and have always had a cat, although I had a fox terrier as a girl. Ken and I downsized our home in Christchurch in 2014. Sadly, just after we moved, our beloved cat Rosie passed away and we decided not to get another pet. So now we enjoy and take an interest in other's pets as the opportunity arises. We are in close touch with our neighbours and most of them have pets which we get to walk or snuggle up to when we can. To me they are like grand children who thrive on love and attention. That's our goal, to treat your pets like our special grandchildren, ensuring you will be worry free whilst we care for them. We are new to house sitting but loved our first experience when we exchanged homes and cars and took pride in looking after another couple’s home and car. Ken I grew up in rural Otago, Southland and Mid-Canterbury. I started my 'hands on' with animals at primary school with a pet lamb I called Topsy. It was a sad day when Topsy had to go! However I did a lambing beat while at high school, and later mustered cattle on horseback in Southland's Hokonui Hills. Over the years I've helped out on farms vaccinating, crutching and drenching sheep and running farming camps for high schoolers. We've even farm sat a sheep and beef property for a couple of weeks while the owners went yachting. After graduating from Lincoln University I spent time working overseas in agricultural education (Australia and Tanzania). On returning to New Zealand I did a stint of secondary teaching Invercargill and South Otago before being employed by Christchurch Polytech (now ARA) to teach Trade Certificate Farming, and run animal husbandry courses for lifestyle block holders. For the past 30 years I’ve sold and supported farm computer software and helped sheep and deer breeders improve the performance of their stud stock. I’m almost fully retired now with just a bit of computer support to keep my hand in. For a retirement project I want to write up the story of my amazing Great Aunt Mary Moore, one of the first women to graduate from Otago University. She went to China as a missionary in 1897, establishing a girls’ school and a hospital in Yichang, upriver from Wuhan, only returning to New Zealand in 1950 when Mao expelled all foreigners from China. If my wife and I have the opportunity to house sit your home in Dunedin, and care for your 'little lambs', I’ll enjoy the chance to check the archives at Knox College for more information about Mary.

Hi I am John, I am 63 years old, retired and living in Whanganui moved backfromKerikeri 2020. I was brought up in Masterton and have always had a love for animals. As a child I had Gold Fish and built a Bird Aviary and bred Budgies, Canaries and Quail. Over the school holidays if we weren't away I would feed my friend's and family pets if they were on holiday. I have had cats most of my life and when I moved to Keri keri owned several lifestyle blocks and had beef dry stock, a pet Goat and a dog and a I also looked after neighbour's properties when they were away, so chooks, sheep are lovey to look after also. I have had a dog for most of my time up here in the north. I have spent the last 5 years looking after properties in Opua which were on Book a Bach. I had nothing but good feed back about how clean the properties were from the guests. During my working life I was in sales and I am a good people person and I treated my job as it is was my own business and 90 percent of my sales were repeat business or referals. That is what I aim to achieve with this house sitting venture. Your pets will get to know me as you will and it will make your holiday more enjoyable knowing that they are in good care with a familiar face. I love overseas travel but don't spend enough time travelling around our beautiful country. This will give me the best of both worlds . I look forward to being able to look after your pets and property for you.

Hello! I'm Rocio a 26 year old chilean girl. This is my first time applying to be a house sitter, I would like to know new places around New Zealand and what better than living an unique experience. I don't have a formal experience with house sitting and caring pets but I am a very clean and tidy person, so you don't have to worry about the cleaning of your home. Since I was 0 years old I have been surrounded by pets, mostly cats, dogs and cows. If you choose me, you will find a reliable, safe person who loves animals, and who needs to be in contact with pets to be happier :)

Hello, I'm Jason. I love animals, I grew up on a farm with loads of dogs and cats. Your animals will be in good hands with me, as will your home. I also love to walk, so if your doggies need walking, that's no problem! I am a self-employed designer, I do have a studio in Wellington, but have the flexibility to work-from-home and often do a few days per week, so if you pets need a little more company than the normal fuzzy friend, I'm up for that. I'm reliable, mature and tidy. Happy to chat about more details, get in touch :)

You can be sure your house and pets are in great, trustworthy hands with a police constable (Shannon) and a self employed graphic designer (Karen). We love exploring different parts of New Zealand and love animals so would welcome the opportunity to look after your house and pets. We are both non smokers, in our 40s and don't have children so have a lot of flexibility to travel when we choose. We are experienced cat owners to 2 pampered pets but also love dogs and would love to look after those as well.

A fun-loving, enthusiastic, nature-loving family of 3. We are Cherisse, Ben and Inara. Kia Ora. Ben and I are both in our late 30's. I am an ex-Paramedic turned Transformational Life Coach and Intuitive Healer. I work from home whilst also being a present mother to our baby. We love animals and walks! Inara and I go for 2 walks a day which is perfect if you have dogs needing a walk. Ben is an ex-Social Worker turned Farmer and Kombucha Brewer/Sales Ninja. He currently works part-time so that he can spend quality time with his family and work on our house bus project which shall be our future home. Inara May is our divine gift. She is such a content and relaxed little babe. She is 9 months old, but an old and accomplished soul full of love light and laughter. Originally born in England, Ben has been living in NZ for 8 years and I for 17 years. I have family living up in Kerikeri. He and I met in Auckland 6 years ago but sought a lifestyle and career change. We moved to the Bay of Plenty where we have been living a more rural lifestyle the last couple of years in orchards and lifestyle blocks. Recently we bought a house bus which we are renovating and a cabin which is yet to be built. We do not currently have a base and are looking to fill the gap of time with little family adventures and to be of service to others, meeting people and learning new skills. Having both been loving and caring pet owners on a number of occasions over the years, we are more than happy to tend to any of your pet's needs. We recently house sat for our friend's lifestyle block with multiple animals (dogs, cats, rats, chickens, ducks, goats and horses) and loved the experience. Another good thing is Inara has been around animals since birth. She has shown to be inquisitive but respectful of them. Funnily enough her name in Ancient Greek Mythology is the Goddess of wild animals and nature. We are often invited back to housesit by homeowners which we believe is a great sign! We are clear and concise communicators who are kind, clean and responsible. We would be happy to respectfully look after your home and treat your animals as whanau. Ideally, we would like medium to long-term stays in the Western Bay of Plenty/Hauraki/Thames-Coromandel area so that we can tinker away on our own projects between house sits. We look forward to hearing from you. Much love Cherisse, Ben and Inara.

I am a young and active senior who retired at Christmas 2021, I had worked with Ontario's largest Children's Mental Health Agency for 18 years. I am a non smoker and tea total (well coffee addict). I arrived in back NZ early 2022 after spending 19 years in Canada. My husband passed away last year. Quite the battle to get into MIQ to return home, with the lotto draw they installed !!! I am currently living with my son and daughter in law, and it would be nice to spend time away on the odd occasion. I house sat before leaving for Canada in Omokoroa and Mount Maunganui. One was an Avocado Orchard and they had 70 Parrots in aviaries on the property, such fun. I have been the proud owner of 5 rescue Old English Sheepdogs.. not all at the same time !!!! so I know about grooming. My last dog Boomer was 116lbs, (52.5kg) a big strong boy and the light of our lives. In 2020 we started to foster dogs brought up from Texas from the "high kill" pounds. Copper was our first, A Walker Coon Hound... never heard of them before and what a delight with his howl. I will leave your home as you left it though I do enjoy gardening and cleaning windows... My hobbies are reading, walking, knitting and TV..... I am a friendly person. get on with most people, I am the listener not the talker... I grew up in UK, came to NZ and then followed my son to Canada. Just went for a holiday and met my husband, tore up my ticket and stayed put....... I consider NZ home..... Recently I have house sat for dogs, cats, sheep and alpaca's, what fun they were .

I am a responsible and reliable individual who is excited about the opportunity to care for your home and pets while you are away. I am responsible, reliable, and dependable. I work professionally from home and am available during the week, at weekends, and on public holidays. My 15-year-old daughter, who lives separately, joins me on housesits. She we `house-trained' and respectful of other people's property also. I enjoy housesitting as it helps others. I have a tenant at my place, so I enjoy a little time away. Please get in touch with me to discuss this, and I'm available via SKYPE, Zoom, Teams, and sometimes via cellphone. I am a trained registered nurse and have worked in hospitals in New Zealand and in London. In July 2003, I set up a pregnancy massage practice at Waterford Birth Centre. This was the happiest and most satisfying part of my professional life. I grew up with many cats and dogs as pets. If the cats became unwell I was the one that advocated for their treatment. I cared for chooks for about 7 years and greatly enjoyed their unique personalities. I currently have no animals but have frequently looked after a little dog called Esther for friends of the family. She was very elderly and she had a sweet temperament. Having had a busy professional life as a nurse and as a therapist, I have had to be organised, clean and tidy, not just at work but also at home. It is important to me to have a warm and beautiful environment around me and I will look after your home as if it were my own. My nursing background means that if your pet has medical needs, I am competent to administer insulin, give meds as well as love and care, and plenty of hugs. I am flexible to keep your pets company during the day and night depending on their needs. I look forward to meeting you and your pets very soon.

My husband and I enjoy travelling and the outdoors. We have been married for 39 years, have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. We are at the stage of our lives where we have a bit more free time and having to house sit would be an extension of how we look after our own home and garden. We have both grown up with pets (cats, dogs and fish). Our grandies have chickens so we have become familiar with them too. We have looked after neighbours houses when they have been away, ensuring that their homes are secure and animals fed, gardens watered etc if required. We are extremely house proud.

Hi there, We are a mature couple with a love for animals and the outdoors. We are NZMCA members and non smokers. We have been self employed business owners for many years and Stu was flying overseas and out of Wellington as a commercial pilot before that. We understand how important it is to have reliable loving care for your pets and your place so if you would like to call us without any obligation we could have a chat and then if you like we could meet with you, again with no obligation to yourself. It's really important for you to know for sure you have completely dependable care. We can assure you we will provide this for you. Kind Regards Stu and Janine Maclean

Hiya, I'm Fin, a 35 year old Environmental scientist and Marine biologist currently working for the government - MPI (Biosecurity). Absolutely love dogs hence getting into MPI to work alongside sniffer dogs. I live a pretty quiet lifestyle so I tend to enjoy my time walking, at the gym, yoga, Pilates and swimming, and heading out to explore new coffee shops. When not housesitting, I am at my parents home looking after their two highly active rambunctious dogs. We go out exploring, paddleboarding and adventuring discovering our lovely backyard here in Auckland. I love walking dogs and am used to working with large dogs so am comfortable around strong dogs that may need constant watching, as well as little dogs who love cuddles. I am clean, tidy and respectful and would love to hear from you for long term (5 days +) sits. Any questions, please feel free to get in touch :)

HI, I love animals and enjoy taking care of them, as I run a small farm with my family I know how important it is to have your animals cared for in their own environment while you are away. I have experience looking after neighbours dogs, cats, horses, sheep as well as on our own farm we have a range of cattle , poultry and sheep. goats and horses. I have a farming back ground and looking after your home and animals while you are away is very appealing way to visit a new area while providing you with the reassurances that your animals are in good safe hands. I like to send updates on how the animals are as it is very reassuring to know they are OK when you are away from them .

I am a semi -retired business woman in hospitality and trades 30 years experience. I am a clean, tidy and well traveled person and have a few hobbies, writing, painting, sewing and cooking, which keeps me occupied. I have lived and worked in and around quality lifestyle and understand keeping a respectable and tidy home. I have house sat for a few friends both in the city and rural settings and I am adaptable to both. hopefully I can give homeowners peace of mind whilst away from their home and pets.,

Hi my name's Julie. My first time pet sitting was in London in 1990 - I'd had a couple of short term nannying jobs when I discovered I could live in people's homes and look after their animals instead of their children! I grew up in Hamilton with cats, and then at long last, a dog (-: Since 2000 I've spent 15 seasons working on the Milford track - the last 8 as a hut warden for the Department of Conservation (I walk 23km to and from work). I own my own home in Te Anau but as my job is seasonal (October - May) I like to travel in the winter. I love animals but the lifestyle I've chosen means it's not possible for me to have a pet of my own - so I enjoy other people's pets instead. I am fit and able and love walking, should your dog require plenty of exercise! I can guarantee that your pets and your home would be well looked after by me.

I have my own business and can work from anywhere which means I spend a large majority of my days at home. I am a single mother of two teenage girls. They are both at boarding school in Auckland. I've recently sold my house on Waiheke Island and am enjoying the freedom of house/pet sitting. I am reliable, clean, tidy, quiet, enjoy my own company and LOVE being around animals. I will mostly be house sitting on my own however have listed as a family as it's possible one or both of my daughters may join at times. Can be pre arranged with owner. Whilst I am fairly new to house/animal sitting I am a lifelong lover of animals. Over the years I've had cats, a dog, goats and chickens. I've spent the last 7 years on a journey of personal/spiritual development which has evolved into my work. I'm passionate about shamanic healing, consciousness, herbal medicine and human behaviour. Feel free to check out my website: www.alchemaehealing.co.nz. I'm looking forward to exploring time in different parts of our beautiful country and spending time with your beloved animals.

We always had dogs and cats when I was growing up so I'm comfortable with having them around and looking after their needs. I house-sat for some friends and their two beautiful dogs over the winter of 2018 and decided I wanted to continue doing it for others. I'm a self-employed entrepreneur and can work online from anywhere. I enjoy the variety of moving around and experiencing different places. Because I work from home I'm able to be there a lot of the time to keep an eye on things and keep your pets company. I'm tidy, self-sufficient and responsible with other people's property. My motto is 'leave things the way I found them'. I look forward to meeting your beloved pets :-)

Allan: retired teacher, and Jenny: retired pharmacist and administrator. We are an active retired couple, reliable and trustworthy, involved with several of our local community groups and activities. We lived and worked in Christchurch for 22 years, before moving to Papamoa 7 years ago. We have owned our own home for most of our 48 years of marriage, and have always taken pride in keeping both house and garden tidy and well maintained. We are genuine animal lovers and have had our own pets, mostly dogs, for all of that time. As our sons were growing up, our household pets also included a cockatiel, a black-hooded rat, and 2 goldfish! We have also frequently looked after a neighbour's diabetic cat, including giving daily insulin injections. As we are retired, we have more time to devote to your pets and your home. After our last elderly dog passed away 5 years ago, we really missed having a dog in our home, so became approved volunteer puppy boarders for Blind/Low Vision puppies, and are still enjoying providing this service. Allan's parents were dairy farmers, and he loved farm life. He is an enthusiastic golfer and gardener, a Justice of the Peace, and volunteers for the Papamoa Community patrol. Jenny is also a keen gardener, enjoys both an exercise/social group and a craft group, volunteers regularly at Good Neighbour Food Rescue, and loves being involved with a Music and Movement group for preschoolers and their Mums. We both belong to Probus, and are also rostered on for several roles at our church. As we have friends and family in Christchurch and various parts of the North Island, we are excited about the prospect of house sitting when we travel to those areas, as well as when we explore new areas that we haven't yet been to. We really hope that you will contact us so that we can look after your home as though it were our own and give your pets the best possible TLC. If they require medication, we are happy to administer that as well. We look forward to hearing from you.

A recently returning NZ’r I am keen to learn more of my own country, and house / pet sitting seems ideal. I love animals and am a fit and active non-smoker. I grew up in Whitianga on 7.5 acres, with 2 bullocks, c30 sheep, ducks, chickens, 2 goats, lizards, cats, dogs and fish. I was lucky to be able to ride my friends horses. I have cared for many friends pets and houses over the years and am completely house-trained, honest and reliable, as well as very practical. I’ve looked after many types of dogs, some who need hour long walks twice a day, to those more sedate due to age, so we slow down and do what’s managable. Some have needed special diets, or simple medication and are taking life carefully. I’ve helped out at The Doggery in Taupaki- as per my reference. I’m single, very capable and practical, sensible, now living in NZ, and have my own transport (car and bike), and AA membership. I drive manual and auto if you wish your pet to be in their own car. I’m a trained first aider although my certificate is not current at the moment (I’ll update it when I can). I’d love to look after your fur family whilst you are on holiday and hope you will get in touch. best Julie-Anne

I'm generally adventurous, I grew up as a farmer's daughter, so I appreciate animals and the environment. I have two adult children, one nearby in New Plymouth and the other in Australia. I recently returned from Australia where I had one house-sitting position and three woofing placements. My main past times are gardening, riding my electric bike, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the years I've had numerous significant pets. My first was a calf that I cared for and trained. Because of my fondness for her, my Father kept her until I was seventeen when I went to the Waikato to qualify as a Nurse. Another pet I was particularly fond of was a canary, which sang beautifully and I called him Gusto. Unfortunately, he died during covid. More recently I had a stray cat that determinedly made herself home with me. Pets are great companions and I appreciate them very much. I began house-sitting before retirement, and have cared for cats and dogs, plus a few sheep and a donkey. These situations have been for family, friends, and acquaintances for periods of almost a week to a month.

Rennie and I met when travelling overseas in the late 60's and have lived in Auckland since 1976, always in the central Auckland. Both of us are born and bred NZ ers, Rennie is from Wellington and I Auckland, which makes for interesting sports watching on occasions. 10 years ago we sold our family home after 31 years and now live in an apartment in the same area. Even more recently we sold our share in a co owned bach which we had for 36 years, this was a deliberate move to allow us more flexibility to travel around NZ. We are so used to sharing and being respectful to others in that shared space we thought house sitting and caring for other's treasured pets would be a great way to see our country. We have been retired now for several years but previously I was a registered nurse and Rennie a journalist. We both keep fit and active and enjoy walking. Mostly I keep busy with volunteer work and Rennie a great reader and avid newsman. Prior to our apartment life, which we love, we have always had pets in our family, cats and dogs. Our very first animal was a cat called Ola, she was a dear fluffy puss cat who's favorite trick was to bring us presents of squirming mice. She looked at us as if we were mad when we returned them to the garden. From Ola we had a series of cats all named by our son, we have had Sally, George (who was discovered to be Georgina when being spayed), Loverly and Pokey. The later two arrived very close together and Loverly adored Pokey who became pregnant while booked in to be spayed. She was still a kitten herself and when her babies were born Loverly took over the nurturing role and would marshall Pokey at feeding times. We lost Loverly early when she was run over. Wonderfully Pokey lived until she was 20. When we lost Loverly we became dog owners, our first a miniature schnauzer called Pebbles who sadly died from, the vet believed, of a congenital heart condition at 5. After Pebbles we got Slick from the SPCA, he was a good boy and we all loved him for the 14 years we had him. We miss them now.

Hello home owners, I’m Matt. I’m 60 years of age and have been working part time as a carer. A quiet, tidy person who likes to spend time in nature, walking and exercising daily. Mostly however, I enjoy the company of pets. Having a daily routine is an important part part of my lifestyle, and dogs are great companions for that.! I usually bond straight away with them. I have house sat for friends and family over the past 10 to 15 years. Mostly here in New Zealand, but also in Byron bay NSW. A keen swimmer, I keep fit when possible as well as having a meditation practice. Overall I’m looking for a peaceful place to stay, with good outdoor space to explore. Kind regards, Matt.

Hi I am a 63 year old ex draftsman who was doing occasional contract work in New Zealand but I'm now retired. I am a minimalistic, tidy, highly organised, responsible and trustworthy person with high standards in whatever I undertake. I love animals and travel so house sitting is a perfect way to combine these. I have been house sitting in Australia recently but covid has bought an end to this. I had completed four house sits in Australia and have now completed a number in New Zealand which have been a mixture of dogs and cats, a rabbit, a goat, a pig and some chooks. They have all been a success and resulted in excellent feedback. I currently live in Christchurch but am free to travel for house sitting in New Zealand. Now being fully retired I can provide full-time attention to your pets and house. You can trust that your pets will have a caring and fun time while you are away. Regards Brian

We are a healthy , active retired couple who enjoy walking, so have time to spend and care for any pets. Harvey also enjoys gardening and photography. Having recently sold our present home, we are in the process of building another new home over the next 12 months and look forward to the opportunity of new experiences associated with house sitting. While we have no previous house sitting experience, we have stayed in friends homes for short periods of time while they've been away and also often feed neighbours cats in the same situation. Until our last move we have always had pet cats in the family , Harvey grew up in a rural farm environment and has fond memories of the family Corgi (Kim) and farm dogs living together, although apart from two of our sons having dogs we have never had one in our family but are willing to enjoy the experience. We take pride in maintaining a lovely home and grounds. Any property we looked after would be cared for to a similar standard. We hope you will accord us favourable consideration with your pet and house sitting requirements.

Hello, I am Sophie, I’m in my early thirties. I have pet-sit and house-sit off and on for years. I genuinely love animals and respect people's homes. I work as a writer, photographer and recipe developer. Sometimes I work predominantly from home, other times I go into photoshoots, depending on which job I am on. Through house-sitting I've had the pleasure of 'living' in different parts of Auckland and 'adopting' beloved pets. In Bayswater I had Barley – a good natured poodle-retriever who I have a soft spot for. In Snells Beach I looked after Rocky (Shitzu) who snored on my bed and took me for beach walks. I also looked after the free-range hens. In Papakura I had no pets, but I cleaned the pool and raked leaves from the mighty oak trees, and enjoyed exploring the surroundings. In Te Henga/Bethells Beach I looked after Murphy (twice) – a nineteen year old gentle cat that kept me company and slept by the fire, as well as fish and free-range chooks. The hardest part of house-sitting is having to leave the animals afterwards. I am an animal person at heart, I love to experience the joy and devotion of dogs and cats. At present I am not in a position to own a pet, so looking after one is the next best thing. I take the responsibility of looking after someone's 'fur children' very seriously, as well as being in their treasured home. I consider myself reliable, responsible and very respectful. I hope to leave your house as clean (or cleaner) then when you left it, and your pet(s) happy and well looked after. I am an avid gardener and am happy to spend time in the garden – tending to and watering a vegetable garden would be a wonderful bonus. If you choose me to be your house/ pet sitter then I am very happy to communicate via whatsapp, text or email. I can communicate daily or weekly, whatever works best for you. Please do feel free to contact me for a chat or a visit. Warm regards, Sophie Merkens

Hi! Welcome to my profile! My name is Tibo, I come from France (Paris), I am 31 years old, tall (183cm), fit (72kg) and in really good health and shape. I speak very fluent english, some spanish and of course, french! I am fond of travelling, enthusiastic in meeting new people, I am a positive person, funny, willing, open-minded, self driven and responsible. I am a good worker, organized, flexible, easy going, comprehensive, attentive, sharp and I can adapt to all kinds of situations. Before I left France to travel the world, I was working in a dog and cat shelter as a volunteer and that made my connection to animals so strong: being able to help as hard as I could every each one of the animals there was a blessing for me. What joy I felt whenever a dog or a cat was adopted! By the way, it is in that shelter that I rescued a 8-month black seter dog which is now part of my family. His name is Ramses, he is now 4 y/o, sweet, funny, so full of energy (I did a lot of work with him about that) and so obedient. I consider him my son but sadly couldn't bring him on my travel. He is currently having an amazing time in the South West of France with my ex boyfriend Benjamin who I trust the most in this world to take really good care of him. Moreover, I have been taking care of 20 malamute dogs in Sweden last year for six months, healing them, training them and going to competitions and races with them as they are sled dogs. What an experience to take care of sled dogs, almost alone, in the cold mountains of Sweden!

Hello there! I have been with The Housesitting Co since 2012 and love the variety of animals I get to look after. I packed up my own home and placed it all in storage and am now concentrating on house sitting full time to take care of your pets, as if they were my own. My name is Julie age 65 I am newly retired after 18 years in real estate and I would consider myself to be a mature, single adult with no dependents, as my boys have grown up and moved on. Over the years of housesitting, I have looked after, cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits, goats, sheep, mice, rats, and fish. So much variety, and so much fun. My years in real estate, will be an asset for the care of your home. As a family we have owned Jack Russells, English Bull Terrior, cats, mice, rats, canaries, finches and was brought up with tropical fish for most of my life. I would consider myself a private person, no more parties, just the quiet life for me To sit amongst family of pets is my ideal. Every animal is different, there are no two pets that have the same quirks. Looking after your loved ones is now my lifestyle choice and I love it. I get to meet, sit, walk and love so many pets, it really is a lovely way of feeling loved. It is always hard to leave them behind as I feel Ihave grown a bond with them. Your house will be well looked after and kept clean at all times. I will water your plants, feed your pets, walk your dogs, tweet with the birds, blow bubbles at the fish and collect your mail. I always leave your home better than when I arrived. If you are looking for a single mature person with flexible hours, who will give a lot of love to your loved ones, then I'm your lady. I look forward to hearing from you. Julie.

My partner George and I are currently living in Raglan so we can be closer to family since COVID-19 hit the world. George is retired from the film industry as a camera technician originally from the UK and extremely well travelled. He is very active and interested in skiing, golf, surf, tennis and anything that doesn't require him to get into a boat. I am a former secondary teacher and film industry veteran and also love travel, food and wine. We have lived in Queenstown, Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland and Gisborne and have owned cats, dogs, ducks and sheep. We are currently tenants as we try to find our next home and have been landlords in the past. We have used house sitters and been house sitters so we have had experience from both perspectives. One of the main reasons we would like to house sit is to spend time with different pets. Due to our desire to travel more we decided not to get any pets and I am missing being around animals. Your pets will be happy to have our attention and company all day. We are happy to house sit in any area and have experience with both small and large dogs and cats. We look forward to meeting you sometime in the future. Thanks Karen & George

Our careers as a professional couple have been a school p.a secretary and a rates arrears officer for the local council both retired 2017 and would be pleased to look after your house and pets while you are absent. We are an outdoor couple and love to explore walks and experiences etc in other areas. We both come from families who have always encouraged us to nurture animals. We have always had pets for our 3 children and in particular a very endearing cat for years who was a Tonkinese cross between a Burmese and Siamese. We would be very caring for your pets, and small animals with compassion. We are responsible and respectful people who would like to help families feel secure by looking after their property and pets while they are away. Charles is meticulous maintaining our own house and grounds and has expertise in trees. We both take pride in our privately owned home. You can expect our utmost consideration in your home, hygiene, compassion to your pets and your belongings.

I am a 35yr old single female, and am a pet lover. Growing up I had cats and more recently a German Shepherd dog, who was my best mate for 11 years until he passed a few years ago. I really miss having pets around so would love to take care of your fur babies for you. I have recently moved to Tauranga from Auckland and my work schedule is flexible currently. Depending what is required for the housesit I usually can schedule my days to not be out all day long, so if your pets are used to company and you don’t want them left alone for extensive periods of time, then my schedule would be suitable. And I enjoy walking so I have plenty of time for dog walks if needed. I’m extremely house proud and clean & tidy. I love to travel and every year or two I spend 2-3 months traveling overseas. My latest trip was 3 months around SE Asia at the end of last year.

Dear house host, first of all your home and pets are really safe in our hands - that's the most important thing :) My name is Ewa (pronounced as Eva), I'm Polish, an easy going and respectful girl who dumped her corporation career in Poland to travel the world and eventually got to New Zealand and decided to stay :) I prefer to gather experiences instead of things and that's also why I registered here - to try this new exciting opportunity! Even though I haven't been housesitting before, I can assure you I'm a very respectful and caring person and can take good care of whatever and whoever is under my responsibility. I work at Ballance in Mount Maunganui and am looking for housesitting options around that area. Jesse, my partner, would be joining me over weekends. He's such a good person! He definitely knows his way around the kitchen and loves to cook. As an introvert, he prefers a good book over going out. He's very thoughtful and caring, loves nature, mountain biking and camping out in the woods. In general we're just good people, all our friends and employers have always been appreciating us - that's a green flag, right? :) I'd be happy to meet up before you decide to choose us, even on a video call - it's very important that you feel you made the right choice!

Hi! My name is Ashleigh Rigby, and I am 30. I'm a consumer scientist from South Africa who is in New Zealand at the moment. I'm looking into housesitting because my profession is that of hospitality management and the area is tourism-based and I love animals! I have plenty of work experience in managing hotels, country houses, lodges and restaurants and I have done house and pet-sitting since I was a young teenager in my beautiful home city of Hilton , Midlands Meander in South Africa. I have grown up in a pet-loving family, and have experience in all pets from fish, birds, hamsters, Guinee pigs, farm animals, dogs, and reptiles! I am travelling alone whilst taking a break and looking for work in a specific area. Due to my circumstances, I am looking for longer time period of a housesit. I'm a very stay-at-home-mommy type of girl! My most recent housesit was in November 2022, in South Africa where I looked after a lovely little kitten called Tiggy! If you are the kind of owner who loves getting pictures of your animal doing cute things everyday, I'm in! Or, if you prefer to know that your pet is well cared for once a week, then it's fine with me. I will adjust to your needs and let you know exactly what is happening when you require it. I am always available on my phone and easily contactable. I will treat your animals as my own, as I am extremely aware and can relate to the love that your animal requires! I know from experience it can be nerve-wracking to leave a pet with a stranger, so I can assure you that I will look after your animal with the greatest care. If you don't have pets, that's okay! Due to my employment industry mainly involving running hotels, I live a sober, clean and pristine life! I take care of furniture, I make sure to respect the value of household items and I am mindful of electricity usage and water restrictions. My mum would definitely back me up in saying that I take after her when looking after a home. It's your pride and Joy, and it will be mine too. You can expect complete transparency and clear communication with me. Should I notice anything out of the norm, I will make sure to contact you immediately. I am honest, and will be grateful to have the opportunity to live in your home whilst you are away. I hope this gives you a sense of who I am! Have a lovely day, and I look forward to hearing from you.

We enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and have travelled extensively overseas.

Kia ora, My name is Phoebe. I am a 25y/o who recently graduated as a primary school teacher from Victoria University, Wellington. I love animals and have a responsible and kind nature. I am exploring areas and schools doing relief work around Auckland and Bay of Plenty to find a school I love and want to work at. So if I stay at your home I will most likely teach at your local schools to find out about the area! I am doing on-call casual relief work, which is relatively short hours 8:30-3:30pm, and on some days I will be at home if I am not booked for relieving. My work experience includes 5+ years doing private home cleaning as my part time job outside of Uni and school, so I promise to keep your home spotless. Infact, you might even find your house cleaner than when you left it! I also worked at Wellington Zoo in 2022- which truly had the most rigorous and animal-focussed application process I have ever come across- so I can assure you that your pet will be in good and experienced hands. My hobbies and interests include yoga, walking, animals, nature, reading, music, and dancing. I look forward to hearing from you, Nga mihi | kind regards, Phoebe

Hello! Our names are Asha and Liv and we are both 22 year old Canadians from Edmonton, Alberta. I (Asha) personally am interested in house sitting to continue living with pets as an animal lover and someone who has grown up having 2 cats. I appreciate their love and companionship and would love to have that during Liv and I's stay in New Zealand. I have constantly house sat for my mom's friend and taken care of her cat as she often goes away for months. Along with that I have occasionally taken care of my neighbours dog. I am currently in school for a Bachelors of Criminology. I also work three jobs at the YMCA, as a childcare worker, a front desk worker, and a manager on duty. I used to play competitive baseball and coached it for many years prior to starting university in 2020. Liv grew up with dogs, specifically Labrador retrievers, and she currently has a one year old black lab and eleven old chocolate lab. She has always had pets in the house and would love to continue that while in New Zealand. Liv has a Bachelors of Kinesiology and is hoping to return to school to complete a Master’s of Occupational Therapy in the fall following our travels. Liv has been a frequent house sitter for family and friends since she was 19. She has house sat for up to 3 months at a time, and has taken care of dogs ages ten months to eleven years. At home, Liv works in child and youth programming/childcare at the YMCA, and she works as a baker in a local family owned bakery. Liv is a former competitive ringette player and currently spends many evenings at the rink coaching a U16 team. We are both in the process of looking for part time work in New Zealand. We intend to work different hours and days so someone will always be spending time with your pets. Thank you for considering us as your house and pet sitters. We are so excited to spend our summer (or your winter) in New Zealand and we look forward to meeting you and your furry friends!

I have had many years' experience looking after houses and pets for other people both in New Zealand and overseas. I'm single, retired, and I don't smoke or drink. I understand the importance of caring for other people's property and pets. Cats seem to like me and I have had a number of dogs but I am pet free at the moment. I spent my working life in the editorial department of newspapers and have travelled widely. My main interests are orchestral music, photography and reading. And I play competitive table tennis.

Hello, I'm a single 39 year old paediatric physio who is looking to change careers and get into film. My contract at Waitakere hospital finishes at the end of December and I plan to have a break during January. I own a small unit which I rent out on Airbnb and need to be near to clean it etc. I would love to own animals of my own (especially a dog), but as I travel a lot and don’t have a good space I think it'd be unfair on them at this stage. I would enjoy looking after any animals if you have any especially a dog for my daily runs/walks. My spare time could be spent on a run/walk/yoga, heading out to a beach or bush, helping out at a community garden, hanging out with friends or relaxing into a few hours of reading/ photography. More of a home body his year and have a bit of work to do on the change of career side of things. I am a very clean, tidy person and probably would be more than usual if living in someone else's house. I'd love to do a bit of gardening as well.

I am a young professional working a 9-5 corporate job in communications. I am trustworthy, reliable, a good communicator, very house proud, and will treat your home and fur babies as if they were my own. I have grown up as a lover of animals (cats in particular) and always had a family cat as a child. My ex partner and I adopted two adorable tabby cats who are mother (Ava) and son (Otis) from a local rescue - they will not be coming with me to house sit. I used to regularly look after my former flatmates golden retriever and black cat which kept me great company during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns! In my spare time I love to bake, read, and get outdoors. I work from home two days a week and am a real homebody who loves to curl up on the couch with a book, a cup of tea, and a furry friend. I would love to have the opportunity to take care of your pride and joy (both pets and home) while you are away! Please feel free to contact me via the provided email or phone.

Hello, we are Lynne and Bob Mitchener. Our working lives began as a registered nurse (Lynne) and an electrician (Bob). Since then we have also worked for non-profit trusts and in the hospitality industry. Our last job, from which we have now retired from was managing a rural retreat centre on ten acres, where we took care of the bookings, looked after the cleaning of the house, the maintenance and grounds. We come with a wealth of practical experience to care for your home and pets. We have cared for cats, dogs, hens and sheep. One lovely pet -sit we had was Harry, a gorgeous little wire-haired foxy cross. We looked after him for three months, and declared that when we eventually retire in our own home, we will find a dog like Harry. However, we are open to falling in love with new varieties, and look forward to caring for your dogs and see them work their charm on us. We have included a photo of Millie, the black labrador with the guilty look on her face. She invited us to her home for one month, about five years back, while her owners were overseas, and we enjoyed the daily walks she took us on to the local beach, where she wanted to play chase the ball until she dropped!! Before her owners went away they gave her a stuffed toy, and told us that it would be "stuffed" before they came home! Three weeks into the house sit, the beloved stuffed toy was still intact, but alas, in the final week, we came home to this mess!!! Oh well, at least we were warned!!! As for cats, we love all and every variety, but are especially partial to ginger moggies. They are so smart. We retired from full time work in April 2017, did a 3 month house sit in Otaki where we looked after a fabulous soft coated wheaten terrier called Lulu, two cats, and 12 chooks! In september 2017 we moved to Taupo where we have retired, and renovating up our home. Two years after this, we were contacted by the owners of lovely Lulu, to tell us they were moving to a retirement village and werent able to take Lulu, so they were needing to rehouse her, sadly. The next four and a bit years were a lovely history for us, as Lulu joined our household and brought much pleasure and joy to our lives. Sadly she is now passed on, so we are available for housesits once again. Our main priority is, we have family in Auckland, and whangapora, so we are especially interested in short housesits in both these places, to catch up with family and friends, especially our new grandson in Stanmore bay. We have done lots of house and pet sitting before, both in NZ and the UK and will look after your home and pets as if our own. We are both creative, caring people, we enjoy reading, walking, cycling, movies and spending time with our friends and family. We have enjoyed cycling the Otago rail trail, the Hauraki rail trail, the old coach road trail and the timber trail. Lynne is a writer and Bob is an artist, he has won several awards for his work. We are a quiet, discreet caring couple and will do everything we can to look after your home and special pets. Thanks for reading our profile, we hope to meet you soon!

Hi there! I'm Ian, I am in my mid 40s and originally from the Waikato. Until 2014 I had lived overseas for 14 years and moved back to NZ for the lifestyle and family. I love travelling and am now looking forward to getting to know more about my own country! I've just sold my house and going to travel around the country and look for volunteering opportunities I've often looked after pets for friends and relatives and recently been taking care of a lorikeet, an elderly cat that needed daily medicine and dogs that need plenty of walking. I love being around animals and am attentive to their needs Until recently I've spent my career working on IT. But I decided to take a break at the end of March and travel around for 6 months while I look for a different career. I'm also looking for volunteering opportunities. I have lived and cared for my own home for the past 4 years and lived in many different countries and open to different experiences and lifestyles. I'm honest, reliable and take a lot of pride in taking good care of any place I stay. Please have a read of my references and I would be happy to answer any questions you have.

1) I love spending time in areas of New Zealand away from the main cities. I am happiest when at home in cared for surroundings, and when caring from my surroundings. I have been a keen gardener all my life (always pottering!), I understand plants well and happily assist in other people's gardens. My work as a lecturer means I do a lot of work from home, and online. This allows me to be flexible with regards to my location. I thrive in quiet surroundings with nature, animals and birds around me. 2) I grew up around animals (a great variety!), and have always had them in my life. People comment that their pets are calm in my presence and they often seek to have contact with me. My father's family were originally farmers in Southland. In my childhood, we often had family holidays on farms and I am very comfortable around farm animals. Daily walks (and gentle jogs) are part of my health and lifestyle routine, wherever I happen to be living. I love walking with dogs as company and I previously owned two dogs when I was younger. I currently care for my neighbour's cat, which seems to have adopted my house for his daily naps. 3) People often miss their homes when they are away, and I would take pride in ensuring that their home (and garden) is in perfect condition when they return, and their pets are happy and healthy. I am a home owner myself (and a landlord), and I know quite a lot about the upkeep of a home and a property. I am able to use home appliances and garden maintenance tools confidently.

I am a professional software specialist. Auckland has been my home for more than two decades. I like being in nature. Reading, practising yoga and tending my small veggie garden fill up most of my time. I don't have a pet myself although I grew up with a few dogs and cats. I would love to have a cat one day. Right now, I love walking my neighbour's dogs with her. She's a professional dog walker. I learned so much from her regarding communication with pets and how to care for them. I hope I can help you to care for your pet while you are away.

Very clean, tidy responsible - well travelled single man working freelance in the film industry (based in New Zealand and London). I often have time between work projects (ranging from a week to a few months) where it would be lovely to lead more of a structured domestic lifestyle, including dog walking/pet care as I love being around animals; with plenty of experience in caring for the pets of family and friends. I am based in Wellington (NZ/UK dual citizen), but happy to consider house sitting placements across New Zealand to experience living in new areas. I have travelled around both North and South Islands extensively for work and pleasure.

Dear Homeowner, My name is Leonie and together with my husband Tony, we are excited to introduce ourselves as potential house sitters who would be honoured to take care of your home and pets. Tony is a retired professor of Architecture from Auckland University, and I worked as a marketing manager for many years before starting my own online business. We have a grown-up daughter who is currently finishing her 3rd year at Auckland University, studying Law. We have plenty of free time now and have enjoyed house sitting for friends and family in the past so thought this would be a fun way to see New Zealand. We both love animals, I grew up on an orchard in Tauranga with a menagerie of pets and I wanted to replicate that wonderful lifestyle when we had our own family. We have an 18 ha rural property in the Central North Island where our daughter has grown up with cats, chickens, cattle, sheep, and fish in the pond. Now she has left home, we have are planning on downsizing and the farm is going to be sold sometime in the near future. So we are free to look after your home and pets and can give them a lot of undivided attention, active walks and cuddles. As house sitters, you can expect us to be responsible, reliable, and communicative. We take great pride in being trusted and respectful guests in someone's home. We particularly would like a house sit in Central Auckland or Tauranga. In Auckland, we hope to be able to see more of our daughter, and in Tauranga, we would like to be closer to my elderly parents who live there. House sitting looks like a fun way to experience new places and enjoy a different lifestyle. You can be assured your home and pets will be in loving and safe hands. Thank you for considering us as potential sitters for your home. We are happy to answer any questions you may have. Best regards, Leonie and Tony

My name is John Wilkinson and my wife is Lindy Smith. We are both in our 60’s, now retired after lengthy careers in teaching and secondary school leadership. At the same time as working we have enjoyed a busy family life that has always had at its core cats, dogs and the occasional guinea pig. As a couple we have always been the ‘go to’ people for house and pet care, sitting advice and support for family, friends and work colleagues. I grew up originally in England where my father bred Boxers: so dogs have been a major presence in my childhood and further as family pets throughout our 30 years here in New Zealand. (a tradition continued by our married son and his Boxer dog.) Lindy has always had cats within her family and upbringing and she was the person who introduced me to the joys of a mixed pet household when we started our first home in UK. Our ‘record’ achieved here in New Zealand is 2 cats, 2 dogs, 3 guinea pigs and various temporarily adopted four-legged friends! We are home owners who take pride in our property and would transfer that responsible care to any house we were looking after. We have traveled widely, enjoying different cultures and cuisines and we bring an energetic approach to all we do. We have used a house-sitting service successfully in the past when we had pets and thus appreciate the expectations of house owners: - that their homes will be cherished, and their pets cared for well. In our retirement we are exploring other areas of New Zealand and the world. We both enjoy an active life – cycling, walking and swimming and I have recently taken up Paddle Boarding as a hobby. We are excited by each of our house-sits and the encounters with new people, pets, places and experiences which they provide – but we are mindful of the importance of house owners feeling comfortable with entrusting their precious homes and pets to others. We would be pleased to talk with you and answer any further questions.

Hi There. I'm Dave and look forward to meeting you. I'm originally from Dunedin and have my own home rented there so I know how important it is make sure you have peace of mind with someone in your own home. I'm very active and have moved to the North Island where my work is very flexible and I am located in the Bay of Plenty. I don't work weekends so can spend more time with pets or doing odd jobs around the house if you would like. I've done beekeeping also and can tend to bees if required, as long as there is some honey in it for us ...lol I'm a regular house sitter, always called upon to look after friends homes while they travelled and I really love it, that's why I've decided to do start here as well as visit some pretty amazing places. I have looked after numerous pets from turtles/fish to dogs and cats and even the odd family pig. I've never experienced any issues with pets I've looked after, generally attention is the key and I'm certainly happy to take the dog for a walk with me or to have the cat cuddle up. I do work from home a lot so on some occasions I would also be able to keep pets occupied during those times as well. I'm comfortable around farm animals like horses and cows, the chooks etc I will be only applying for sits where I feel comfortable so if you would like to get in touch, I look forward to meeting you. Regards Dave

I am 67 but still feel like I’m in my 40s. I enjoy keeping fit. I hike, swim, love walking my daughter's labrador on the beach most mornings, l paddle board when condictions are right and practise yoga. As a child I grew up with Ponty the dog then Kim a Golden Spaniel, we also had Whiskers the cat. They were my buddies and were part of the games we played in the back yard. My biggest love was horses and my dapple grey horse called Centennial. John has a love for all animals too and grew up with Shep the border collie, in his adolescence he had pigeons . I volunteer for Riding For The Disabled and absolutely love it. The difference you see in the confidence of the children that are participating is very heart warming. We are confident with handling farm animals. I love animals any size, colour, hairy, bald, old or young and especially their individual personalities. Our first house sitting experience we looked after Ian and Debbie Shuttleworths house and rescue dog named Heney for 6 months while the owners went back home to England. The second was sitting a friend's house Dean and Nancy for the winter while they were in Australia. We will respect your property, keep the yards tidy, mow lawns etc, most importantly the house will be kept spotless and the pets will be loved as if they were our own.

We're an honest and trustworthy hard working professional couple living in Auckland. Having now lived in NZ for over 15 years we have a network of friends and family throughout the country who we like to visit when we find the opportunity. Our reason for exploring house sitting is to hopefully be of service to similar people like ourselves who like to do a bit of travel. Therefore giving them the peace of mind to have a worry free time away from their own property and pets, knowing they're in safe and capable hands. Over the years we have always utilised friends for any longer term house sitting requirements and in the past have been house sitters for overseas property investors. We quite often look after the pets of our friends when they go on holiday. You can expect your property to be looked after as if it were our own. To always be in the same condition as you left it and if required we quite enjoy doing a bit of pottering in the garden.

Hi! We're Nick and Egle, Kiwi/British and Lithuanian couple in our late twenties looking to housesit your place till we go to our European adventure in June! Nick came to New Zealand when he was a kid and grew up in the Mount and Papamoa and Egle came here 4 years ago before Covid with a Working Holiday visa and became a love immigrant. We're moving back to the Mount/Papamoa area for a couple of months before we go to Europe, we will be staying at Nick's parents place, but we would love to give them some space while house-sitting. We have great renting references and did some housesitting for people we know. Also, we are taking care of Nick's parents dog all the time. We're very clean and we both love pets! Hope we will be able to have our own in near future. Nick works as a truck driver, so he won't be around for most of the day, and I work remotely, so can take care of your house and pets during the daytime. Looking forward hearing from you, Nick & Egle

Hi I’m Sam, I am 28, very reliable and responsible. I have experience with both animals and house sitting for family friends. I am a qualified Nanny and have worked in the UK full time for nearly 4 years so had to maintain a household, children and animals all at the same time. I have dogs in the family so I am able to take great care of them as well as giving them a calm, loving environment. I am able to keep to their normal routines and any rules they may have in place by the family/owners. I am respectful of property and personal items, keeping things as they have been left. I enjoy a good deep clean so with sittings for long periods of time you house will be well taken care of!! I look forward to meeting you!

Hi there, Mick and I (Debbie) are from the UK and are back after lockdown to visit our son in NZ. He only went for a gap year to St Kentigens school in Auckland but decided to stay in NZ, so we come over each year to see him and escape the UK winter. To put your minds at rest we are both fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and are happy to share our vaccination record with you. So here is why we believe we would be right to look after your fur babies. We have both had dogs and cats through out our lives, as children and as a family together. In the UK we had a reciprocal arrangement with dear friends where by we looked after their dogs whilst they were away and vice-versa. So our dog numbers tripled. The dogs needed a good couple of hours a day walking and often came home from the woods wet and muddy. Meaning they couldn't go back into the house until washed and well rubbed dry. Our pets have all passed away now and as we spend a long time away from home visiting NZ, it is not fair or practical for us to have more of our own so we get our dog and cat "fix" by looking after other peoples pets. Coming to New Zealand during the grey English winter not only allows us to see our son but increases the amount of summer we experience every year. Our own extensive garden and allotments (space we rent to vegetable garden) are in their dormant period and our own home is tucked up to protect it from the worst of the winter cold. During our stays in NZ we often rent homes and always treat them as if they were our own. Owners have often commented how clean and tidy we have left them. (See our reviews for further confirmation). In the UK we provide very high quality rental accommodation and run a property maintenance company to up hold these standards. We wouldn't let a property that we couldn't live in ourselves. The fact that our tenants stay for a long time speaks positively for us as Landlords, one of our tenants has been with us for over ten years. As your sitter we would treat your home and pets as if they were our own, but following your instructions and rules on what they are and are not allowed to do, how much daily walking is required and their dietary requirements. Once we leave your home you will not know we have been there. The transition between you leaving, us staying and you returning will be seamless. We look forward to enjoying your home and pets. If you would like to chat while we are in the UK please phone using 'What's App' but remember you are 13 hours ahead of us. Mick and Debbie
I am a friendly, kind, fully vaccinated non smoker and I love people and animals…
I am a friendly, kind, fully vaccinated non smoker and I love people and animals....I really enjoy hiking, reading, movies, numbers, handcrafts, friends, family and pottering around home. I am comfortable looking after apartments in the city, homes in the suburbs and also homes in rural areas - pets or no pets. I have been with the Housesitting Company since November 2021 and have a few references online. If you require further reassurance I have a list of other home-owners/pet-owners who are happy to be called as referees. Please email or text me and I can provide more details to put you in touch with some of those who may have similar animals and/or houses as yourself. I am a mum of two gorgeous young adults who are running their own worlds....I currently base myself Everywhere as housesitting has become a Lifestyle and I housesit full time (renting a room "by the night" with a friend between housesits). My only constant is I work fulltime in Rangiora, North Canterbury as an Accounting Systems Consultant for an Accounting firm. *************************************** I love to housesit to help others - so homeowners can have a holiday reassured that their home and animals are well looked after. From my own previous experience, I know how hard it can be to find a kennel/cattery or a suitable person to look after the gorgeous animals in our lives. For me house-sitting is a lovely change of scenery and it would be fabulous to care for other people’s animals and/or home. I really enjoy the company of other people’s animals. I call this my early working retirement....and as I mentioned, my children are nearly grown ups (when did that happen!!)....they have both “flown” my nest ...my son is a third year building apprentice and my daughter is at Auckland Uni doing architecture ....as they don’t live with me now I can freely go housesitting as required. I grew up by the beach in Sumner and our family always had house pets and my (now ex-) husband and I brought our children up on a lifestyle block in Ohoka with cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, dogs and cats. So I have looked after and have experience with a wide range of stock/pets (in saying that I am not familiar with riding and the daily care of horses - although I love being around them!). I would feel privileged if you choose to have me as your Housesitter. I am very tidy and am happy to do things the way you wish. I will respect your house and everything in it and will be grateful for you letting me stay in your home. I look forward to hearing from you!!

Hi our names are Maryna and Neil, We are close to retiring and feel it is our time to discover the rest of the South Island in New Zealand and while doing that, do what we enjoy and that is looking after peoples pets and a little gardening while we at it. We immigrated here 11 years ago and have been living in the Catlins ever since so love to explore . As we do not have animals of our own (not by choice) this will also give us a great opportunity to enjoy other people's pets while we are on breaks. We are reliable and trustworthy and are managing a holiday park in the Catlins. This is a 24/7 entity and being in hospitality means we know what is expected from cleanliness and client communication. Neil is a handyman and extremely keen garderner so finds himself very busy most of the time. We both are pet lovers and with previous housesitting experience in London, South Africa and in the Catlins, we have done a lot of dog walking, cuddling cats and even looked after pigs, horses and chickens. We both love fishing and used to take our doggies with us (back in South Africa) so they could have a good run around, and when given the chance they would steal some of our catch! It would be our privilege to help home owners out by looking after their homes and taking care of their pets ( with lots of love) putting their minds at ease. We love to update owners at any time as to how things are going back home. Please feel free to contact our referees and ask any further questions you may want answered.

Hi there, My name is Andrew. I am 63. I am a writer and work remotely. I travel frequently, so I do not have pets of my own - so I absolutely adore the time get to spend looking after other people's pet's. I love all animals, but am especially fond of dogs and cats. Horses, fish, hamsters, rats, hens, goats, sheep and pigs are also my friends. I am not too fond of spiders or creepy crawly type creatures, although I did look after a worm farm once and even enjoyed it. When not on my computer writing or working, I like to go on long walks. I swim, meditate, I love cooking and gardening. As my computer is my mobile office, your pets will have company all day long. I am completely house trained and am an expert in the art of being a guest. I will treat both your home and your beautiful pets with the respect and love they deserve. I would love to housesit your home and look after your treasured pets. I know that upon your return you will be very happy to have chosen me, and I'm sure you will be looking for my telephone number when you are thinking about your next holiday. I do not smoke. I look forward to hearing from you.

I was born in Christchurch. I lived 26 yrs in NZ and now 30+ in California. I go home to NZ once or twice a year. My husband and I have a 8 year old Mini Pinscher that we rescued at 1yr old. He is very active and we walk twice a day. I volunteered for the Golden Retriever rescue for 6 years interviewing adopters, walking the goldens, and picking up very frightened goldens from shelters to bring into our rescue. I have always had a cat, the one before our 3 yr old Ricky was 19 when he passed on. I also grew up with chooks. I am a competent horse rider and will consider looking after most animals. Would love to throw on my gum boots and head out to the paddock to cover a horse or move an animal to another paddock. I am a Scottish country dancer and like to walk, garden and read. I am willing to go anywhere in NZ and would prefer a rural setting. Please note my phone (cell) # can be used while I am in NZ.

Greetings Home and Pet Owners, Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Norman Ronald Mcfadyen. I was born and raised in Northumberland. My father and his ancestors came from the Isle of Mull, my mother’s from Northern Ireland. My accent is hard to place, as I have travelled extensively in my life and have had to learn to modify my accent over the years, to be comprehensible to others. I am a very friendly and gregarious soul, who loves the company of both people and animals. I have worked in mental health for over 30 years; initially, as a psychiatric nurse and later as a mental health clinician and therapist. I have also worked in performing arts for nearly as long, as a professional actor mainly. These days, I combine my love of theatre and education to teach others some successful strategies, to navigate the bumpy paths of life. I do a little bit of homeschool teaching and I am an instructor at the New Zealand Stage and Screen combat school in Birkenhead. I came back home to New Zealand in March 2020, after having lived back in the UK for a couple of years, looking after my father. I came back to Auckland for my son’s wedding and found myself marooned due to the Covid lockdown. My father died shortly after I arrived and therefore I have no need to go back in the UK. My life and living is very flexible as a single man of 54 years of age. I enjoy playing my ukulele and singing every day and have a successful Christmas business, portraying Father Christmas himself. I have had pets all my life, both cats and dogs, when living in my own property. Since being marooned here in 2020, I have missed them dearly. I am not in a position to have my own pets, due to uncertainty going forward. I would be more than delighted to spend my time with your loved ones in the meantime. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future. Kind Regards, Norman

Hi, my name is Santiago, I'm from Argentina. I am in New Zealand because I am always interested in learning about other cultures, their language, the culinary culture of the place. From a very young age I grew up surrounded by pets and animals of all kinds since I grew up in a small town. Currently I have a cat called "Uma", which I miss a lot, she is in Argentina. I think this way of caring for pets could make my trip easier. I arrived in New Zealand 4 months ago and I have a working holiday visa. Before coming here I was living in Paris. I lived there for almost 7 months, and I had the opportunity to work in a Mexican restaurant called "Acá Pigalle", which is one of the most popular Mexican restaurant in Paris. It is located in the Pigalle neighborhood, a few meters from the Moulin Rouge. I am currently living in Wellington, where I worked as Shift leader at Gorilla Burguer. Also at the moment I'm working as a Chef. On the other hand, I wanted to mention that I am here with my girlfriend, who also has a valid working holiday visa. She has experience in Hospitality and Housekeeping. As I mentioned we are currently living in Wellington but we would like to know some new places like Auckland and all the little cities nearby. Hello, my name is Agustina Bengolea. I’m from Argentina. I arrived in New Zealand 4 months ago and I have a working holiday visa. Before coming here I was living in Paris. I lived there for almost 7 months, and I had the opportunity to work in a Parisian restaurant called "Cojean", which is one of the most popular healthy fast food restaurant. I am currently living in Wellington, where I worked as housekeeper at Boulcott Suits. On the other hand, I wanted to mention that I am here with my boyfriend who also has a valid working holiday visa. As I mentioned we are currently living in Wellington but we would like to know some new places like Auckland and all the little cities nearby. Other thing about me is that I'm a graphic designer and photographer, so I really like to go outdoors and take some photos of the wonderful new zealand's nature. Since I'm a child I've been in contact with animals. I grew up in a farm enviorment, becuase of my father's job, so I took care of different animals and plants my whole life, such as horses, calfs and chickens. And of course I've had got a lot of cats and dogs pets.

Hi my name is Lee-Anne Knaggs, I'm 52 years old and work full time as an accountant. I was born and raised in Tauranga, growing up we always had animals, dogs, cats and birds. I had my own dog Beau, a mix breed of half Labrador, Bull Mastive and a bit of huntway. Beau's Grandfather was my late aunt's Huntway and his nature was sweet, except when food was around!! Over the last year and half I have house sit for friends and work mates, in doing so as funded my passion for travelling overseas and also within New Zealand. My hobbies other than traveling are genealogy, walking, hand crafts especially patchwork. I'm very responsible and respectful. My goal is to make sure your home is safe and your animals are happy while your away. Please feel free to contact any of my referees and I hope to meet you and your animals and that you would select me to be your house sitter.

Hello, Alofa Atu My name is Katrina but you can call me Trina. I'm a 43yr old NZ born Niuean, mother of two grown adults who've now left the coop, and I'm based in the BOP region. I'm a Digital Freelancer working from home and I have been currently house sitting for over a year now. I walk dogs on a daily basis if/when required for a doggy daycare owner. I genuinely love what I do, I get plenty of cuddles from pets because I no longer have any of my own in my care and it helps keep me active and it fits around my work/life balance. Growing up I've had four dogs (Sky, Alicia, Bimbo & Oreo) and three cats (Ash, Fifi, and Chino) and cared for rescue dogs throughout my time. I'm a reliable, caring, colourful being with a huge love for kids, pets, travel, hiking, hula and diving. I also enjoy cultural exchange, good food, meeting new folk, all things natural and I appreciate the very simple things in life. I would love to experience more of Aotearoa and while saving to buy a house. In doing so I'd love to make myself available to do something I know and love. I've fed, played and given one on one time to dogs & cats, budgies and reptiles when friends and families have been away. I have a lot of love and nurturing to give. A non smoker/drinker, with a clean record and a full drivers license. I'm an open book so please feel free to make contact. I'd love to have a chat. Monuina e aho nei, have a beautiful day. Trina

Hello I’m a friendly, easygoing retiree who welcomes the opportunity to visit pastures both new and old, near and far. I love being around animals, especially dogs and cats. I view housesitting as a wonderful way to get to know locations in a 'home from home' environment. I am passionate about travel, and the cost saving benefits of looking after other people’s homes are a big plus compared to staying in hotels which I find sterile and impersonal. I am highly responsible, quiet living (definitely not a party animal!) with no bad habits. And I have no medical issues nor take any medication. The simple pleasures suit me best and walking I particularly enjoy. And I love good food, good films, good books and good conversation. I’ve owned four homes over the past 40+ years in New Zealand, most of that time spent on glorious Waiheke Island, population around 9000. Living here is very hands on as we don't have the same amenities as the mainland and, being a resourceful person by nature, there's little that fazes me. For 10 years I lived in a rural location (23 acres, mostly protected bush) which ran totally off the grid. I now live in the more ‘urban’ area of Surfdale. In the past two dogs (RetrieverX and a Spoodle), and a number of cats, have shared my home and heart. So you could be rest assured I would look after your pets and home as my own. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Best, Gillian

Hey! My name is Csaba Koszo. I'm easy-going, married Hungarian man in my 40s with a sense of humor, like a diversified life. I grew up in the town, but we had own farm close to our house. I love animals, mainly mammals and I love houses too, because this is my trade: doing renovations, decking etc. as a self-employer. If something goes wrong with the house, I know what I can do. And I have another business, which works through the Internet. I have been living in Auckland for 7,5 years and I did housesitting 14 times here in NZ (13 times include animals: dogs, cat, bird, fishes). We are Christians, got married in June 2019 and my wife moved to NZ also. Hey! My name is Masha (Maria officially). I was born and grew up in Russia, but now I`m living in New Zealand with my husband. I`m a doctor (surgeon and medical sonographer) and now I am looking forward to confirming my diplomas here in NZ. I love animals, we had two cats at home, while I was growing up. Our common hobbies: many different types of sports, playing with pets, reading and travelling. We are looking forward with anticipation to meet you and your little family members. Greetings :) Csaba and Masha

My name is Kevin, 29, and my girlfriend Arlette, 27, who both have recently moved back to New Zealand after a brief 10 year stint in Europe. We are both working professionals, both recently graduating from our masters at the University of Lisbon in Portugal. Kevin works in Data Analytics and Arlette has just begun a working PhD in Blue Finance. We both have over 20+ years experience with animals, having not only done many privately organized house sits or taken care of pets, but also have had dogs, cats (and horses for a while) our whole lives. We both are physically active and love to go for runs, also with Pets too if preferred. We also love to have a good cuddle in the evenings too for those animals or pets who love to be affectionate. We have dealt with very old, medicated and needy cats and dogs in the past, having lived through the entire lives of our own pets multiple times. In case there are any questions or doubts, Feel free to contact us if you would like any references

Hey, I’m Kerry, 37-year-old female looking for opportunities to house sit around NZ. I’m looking to use this platform to help me save for my own beautiful home. I love animals of all kinds and as a child have always been surrounded by several different breeds of dogs from a Japanese Akita, German Shepard to a Yorkshire terrier and even had cats, rabbits, birds and for a short time a tarantula my brother decided to hide in his room!! I would love the opportunity to help care for your loved ones and home when needed and hopefully make a new fur buddy or two. I’m originally based in Wellington but love to travel and explore NZ as much as I can and have previously house sat for friends and family over the years. I am very respectful of other people homes and possessions and believe in treating them the way I would like my things to be treated, with love and respect. I'm very active and love the outdoors, so would love buddy to go on some adventures with or would equally be happy to have a snuggle buddy whilst reading a book on a rainy day.

Hi, my name is Karen, I am 62 years old, retired and full of energy! I currently reside in Fiji on my sailing yacht, but will be spending all of summer in NZ. Having had a tremendously varied working life, from Veterinary Nursing, Business Owner and Director of Subsurface Fiji (largest scuba diving and watersports company in Fiji) for 18 years, a Wool Classer then Wool Broker, Bayleys Real Estate agent, US Tennis Assn coach, 4 time home owner and mother of 3, I feel well experienced and mature to take care of a home, its contents, and the animals I will be trusted with. I am a communicator, and I truly care for any task I undertake. I am interested in house-sitting, mainly because I miss having a pet in my life, but I also want to explore regions of NZ as possible areas to eventually live in.

Hi there! My name is Suzanne and I have been house sitting fulltime in Whangarei, Warkworth, Whitianga and Papamoa for over eight years. I am a mature person on my own now, with no family ties. I especially love dogs and I am very experienced in caring for them and knowing their needs having owned dogs over many years. I had several Tibetan Spaniels and often looked after them for the Breeder. I also had a British bulldog, Janice Joplan, who was tremendous fun but very strong!! I grew up in Auckland and lived all over Auckland for some 45 years before moving to Mt Maunganui. I had a home in Ocean Downs for around 7 years before moving to Whangarei around 9 years ago. My daughter lived in the USA for many years and her children were all born there. Saddly I lost my daughter to cancer in January 2014. I have three grandchildren and two great grandchildren all living in the USA. As a teenager I was one of the first New Zealand trampoline champions, swam for New Zealand in Sydney at the Australian Swimming Championships. I was a New Zealand and Australian swimming champion, plus held several New Zealand swimming records. In 2003 I rode my Harley motorcycle across America with the Auckland Harley Owners Club, from L A to Milwaukee and back for the Harley Davidson 100th in Milwaukee. I also crewed on the Stewart 34 yachts racing out of Ponsonby Cruising club, did a couple of the Coastal Classic races, had tremendous fun. My working background is 25 years in the I.T. industry working as a Contract Programmer on IBM mainframes, plus was I.T. Manager for several large companies. It was a very exciting time to be in I.T. I did 6 years selling Real Estate on the North Shore Auckland and 3 years at Mt Maunganui. Semi retired I worked 4 years as a Receptionist in the Emergency Dept. Tauranga Hospital and then 9 years at Whangarei Hospital. I have been lucky in that I loved all my jobs and have met and made friends with wonderful people along the way. I retired May 2021 which frees me up to house sit in other areas. I love being retired!! Thank you for taking the time to consider my online profile. I am mature, reliable and would welcome the opportunity to take the stress out of your holiday by looking after your home and pets. Many of my house sitting jobs are repeats for the Nurses and Doctors I worked with. I am very capable at caring for a variety of circumstances and pets needs. I can supply verbal references from people I regularly house sit for if required. calm seas and fair breezes Suzanne.

Hi there! Thanks for checking our profile! We are Ana and Joao, originally from Brazil, living in New Zealand since 2016. We are a quiet, responsible, and friendly couple in our mid-forties who are able to work remotely. Hence, we have plenty of time and availability to take care of your house and pets. We love all kinds of pets, but we opted for not having any for now. Hence taking care of other people's pets has been our way of spending quality time with our furry friends. While overseas, we've always had pets like dogs, cats, fishes, birds, rabbits, hamsters... and we are great with animals of any size, age and temper. We can look after them following any special care if required. Starting from 2017, we housesat for a few friends in Auckland before moving to New Plymouth in 2021. When New Zealand opened its borders early this year, we stored all our belongings and went overseas for four months to visit our beloved family and friends. When we came back, we decided to keep our belongings stored, and have been enjoying house sitting ever since. So far we've looked after dogs, cats, chickens and even a pig! We have no geographic restriction and can't wait to meet other pets! Back in our home country we have our own houses therefore we also understand how important it is for homeowners to have someone respectful and caring in their homes. That been said, you can be sure that we will take care of your home and pet(s) as if they were ours and follow any request to keep your home tidy, and your pet(s) safe and happy. Cheers!

Hi there Our names are Pam Morris and Paul Weatherburn. We have been together for 33 years and lived in Auckland until recently when we moved to a new home in Blenheim. We have recently retired after owning 12 Health Food Retail stores throughout NZ. Over the past 15 years we have lived on a 10 acre lifestyle block looking after cattle (few), sheep, and alpacas, all of which had names and were treated as pets. We have sold this property and the recent move to Blenheim has been very positive. Over the next few years we intend to travel throughout NZ tramping, biking and generally seeing every part of the country. We love animals and would love to have the opportunity to look after other people's animals while they have a break. We are 66 years old, very active, healthy and totally trustworthy.

My name is Kelsea, I am the managing director of KO - an outsourced strategic marketing company that works with SMEs across NZ, all remotely WFH. I moved to Auckland in July 2022 and have been enjoying housesitting all around the region ever since! I have grown up on rural and equine properties, and spent a year as an assistant at the Massey University Vet Hospital. Animals have always been part of my family, from our dogs who’ve always had an awesome life with us (breeds incl. Red Healer, Brodie CollieXBlue Healer, Jack Russel), cats, horses and livestock. I unfortunately have a huge phobia of birds, so cannot accept any housesits that require taking care of any feathered creatures! Homeowners who choose me to look after their home and fur children can expect someone who will look after their home as if it were their own, and travel easy knowing their pets are looked after by someone who will be around to keep them company and also have awareness and experience with health across the board.

Welcome to my profile! I'm Kristy, 25 years old (single) and am moving back to Auckland after a one year sabbatical in Christchurch for professional development. So, thought it would be a good opportunity to do some housesitting, I can try out some different areas to live in, while I have limited belongings or fixed abode. Previous to my sabbatical I had been living in Auckland on the North Shore for 6+ years, and had been head tenant of my 3 flats. I’m open to other areas for a change though! I’m returning to work full time for The Warehouse Group at the end of July, which will keep me pretty busy, but flexible to work from home a few days a week too which will be ideal for furry friends. Outside of work I spend most of my time trying to get outside for a walk, to the gym or dinner with friends. I grew up in rural Whangarei, just North of Auckland, and have experience looking after family pets like dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens and fish. You can be assured I will love your pets as if they are my own, and expect lots of photos!

I am fully vaccinated and retired and exploring the north island to see what people are raving about as I'm from Christchurch!! My working life was a Cafe operator for 30 years, then with special needs people for 7 years. From this I worked rehabbing the elderly when they came out of hospital and getting them back on their feet again and helping look after their pets. It was such a reward caring for people and their pets, I worked here for 7 years before retiring. I have house sat about 15 years ago while my late husband and I were in-between buying a new home. They too had dogs and cats to love and take for walks and give cuddles. Unfortunately, I didn't get references but the volunteer work I now do hopefully explains the person I am. Some of these require police checks. My other activities/Volunteer work are:- Hornby community patrol (Eyes and ears for the police), Committee member/player at my local Croquet club, Committee Member of Hornby companions Age Concern hostess and last but not least my crazy hobby collecting gnomes....I have over 320 around my small unit.! Travel club. My current living situation does not allow me a full-time pet so I foster cats and kittens from the SPCA. I will miss my foster furry friends while I'm away travelling, so looking after your pet(s) and giving them lots of cuddles and love will be my priority. They fill my heart with so much joy and I'm sad when they get adopted but the bonus is getting to know some more little friends. My life is enriched when I can stroke, pat and talk to little bundles. I will treat your pets the same as I would want mine treated. Your home is your sanctuary and I will keep it clean and tidy as if it were my own. Being a home body myself I would take great care of it and outside too. I am looking for a house sit in Papamoa/mt Manganui area 3/11/23 approximately for 1 week. I am not available for the rest of this year, but looking at next year nearer the time in all areas of the North island.

Kia ora, My name is Ella, I grew up in Wellington with my Mum, Dad, and our beloved pets over the years. Many of my family members, including my brother, live overseas as my Dad is from Scotland and my Mum’s father was as well. I’m very close to my family and life long friends who I’m very grateful to have. I am kind, reliable, honest, empathetic and I absolutely adore animals. I love to travel and am very keen to see more of our beautiful country. I am a digital artist currently building up my own online art business and I love the idea of being able to travel looking after people's homes and pets as I work. Working online also allows me to be there for your pets day or night - making me available for as many cuddles, playtimes and walks as their hearts desire :) I have housesitting, and pet-sitting experience. I love animals and am very comfortable looking after a variety of pets. I also have some experience caring for elderly pets, and those requiring daily medication, so am very willing to prepare and administer medication if need be. I take great care in all that I do and am a very clean, respectful and tidy person who will always leave your home in great condition. I recognise how much our home's mean to us and will put all of my love and care into looking after yours. My hobbies include travelling, art, keeping fit, photography, being out in nature, yoga, movies and spending time with my friends and family. I have spent the last few years travelling, spending time with and caring for family, volunteering, working as a nanny and as a teacher in ECE. I am so excited to look after, and love, your home and beloved pets as I would my own. Please do have a read through my references and feel free to call one of my referees, or myself, if you have any further questions. I’m looking forward to meeting you and your pets and I hope that you will consider me as your housesitter :)

I have re located for a job in Hamilton from South Otago. I am 30 years old and single so I am interested in house sitting as a way to save money to buy my own house but mainly to get interactions with pets (since I left a farm down south). I have house sat for several people from work. I grew up on a farm so I am used to looking after many types of animals. I also have good husbandry skills and am observant. This means I am great with livestock and can detect when an animal may be under the weather. Animals I have grown up with include -Sheep -Cows -Goats -Chickens -Cats -Dogs -Fish With dogs specifically I have experience with French Bull dogs (with allergies!), Labradors and Staffordshire bullterriers. I am reliable and quiet, and aside from looking after the animal I try to remain quite fit so love taking dogs for walkies. I am also clean, tidy and responsible.

Having recently returned to NZ, after 1 year being stuck in Australia, I am currently looking at options for housesitting as I have just accepted a position that allows me to work fully remotely anywhere in NZ. I am 49 year old single lady, who loves other peoples animals. I have been told I am a bit of a cat whisperer, as I immediately connect with the shyest of cats. I have looked after a variety of dogs, mostly small to medium sized, and I love walking, and try and get in 10,000 steps a day, so your fur-baby will get as much (or little) walking that they need. I am very clean and tidy, have owned my own home(s) and very respectful of other peoples properties. I have AirBnB'd around the world and have nothing but excellent reviews from all owners. I love to cook, and do enjoy nights in chilling and watching Netflix! I love taking pictures of animals (by no means professional though) and am happy to send updates of your fur-babies as often as you like. I was brought up with cats, have "flatted" with dogs, and have owned fish. I also spent holidays growing up on a sheep & cattle farm. My sister owns sheep and goats which I have also looked after on occasion.

I am an active, retired, widowed man, a non drinker, or smoker, and take pride in my appearance, and care for other people's property, and pets, as though they were my own. My interests include, walking, volunteering, gardening, sports. and to enjoy whatever life has to bring me. My reason for house sitting is assist others to have time away from home, and know their animals are cared for and treated as they deserve to be, with much love. My latest experience was with my partner, Daphne Boynes, who is also registered with The Housesitting Company, and was a three week stint at a small farmlet in Te Awamutu, and assisted in the care of a dog, two cats, sheep, and Alpacas. I can offer homeowners trust, respect, and genuine care for their property, and animals, and a high standard of cleanliness in their home when they return.

Hi there! Our names are Christopher and Sally and we are a middle aged 'empty nest' couple with two grown up children making their way in the big wide world. We have lived around the world including 10 years in London, but for the last 20 years in New Zealand. I (Christopher) am a NZ native and my wife Sally is a dual national UK/Australian. In our early life together we were heavily involved in the ski industry, mostly in Switzerland. We continue to stay fit and active and love our walks, so if you have dogs that require walking, we would be delighted! A few years ago we helped with the Guide Dogs for the Blind socialisation programme. We felt this was a worthwhile programme that also gave our children experience in caring for animals. Letting our babies go after 18 months was hard though. Since then we have looked after friend's pets (Dogs, cats, guinea pigs etc) from time to time. Additionally our time as house sitters (11 months) has seen us successfully care for a number of different dog breeds as well as cats and other animals so feel we could cope with most pet related situations. As we are both home for most of the working day, keeping your pets company and maintaining their exercise routines will be a pleasure. Our time in Auckland has been mainly in the Remuera and Meadowbank area which is where our children went to school and many of our friends live. Sally and I are retired and are currently based in Taupo. We have always rented in Auckland and have excellent references from our landlord/owners (please see our attached references for your perusal). Homeowners can be assured that, as with the properties we have rented, their home would be looked after as if it were ours. We are an honest, sensible and trustworthy couple whom will keep your home in a neat and tidy condition and your pets will be well loved and looked after by us. Thank you for taking the time to consider our online profile and we do hope to meet you and your pets soon. Warmest, Christopher and Sally.

I'm a retired optometrist, living in a retirement village and would like a change of scene now and then. I'm well-travelled and have good reviews on Airbnb. I haven't house sat, but am a farmer's daughter, so familiar with dogs, sheep, cows and hens. I used to have pet lambs and had a couple of pet (wild) ducks for a while. We had numerous pets when my children were at home, including guinea pigs, rabbits, ducks, cats, lovebirds, tadpoles, a lamb and I remember looking after the school mice in the holidays. I have fed friends' animals and I have a cat at home. My interests are travel - I have 2 children in the US and have been to around 40 countries - computers, reading and music (to a lesser extent). I'm mainly interested in short stays. You can expect me to do what you need and leave your place as I found it.

We love NZ and look forward to travelling and discovering some new areas. We have owned two gorgeous Golden Retrievers and some wonderful cats. We love caring for animals. I am a girl who loves animals, owner of three cats and a dog. I am going to live in New Zealand for a year to get to know the country, its culture and to be able to speak English perfectly, and I would like to be able to do it taking care of animals. I am responsible and calm. In Spain I live alone so I am used to taking care of a house. I will take care of your pet as if it were mine, dedicating my time and affection.

When you go away you want to have peace of mind that your fur babies are going to be cared for and looked after. You want to know they getting the fun and nurturing that they are used to. You want to feel at ease and confident they are being well looked after. Not only that, but when you get home, you want to walk in the door and see everything clean and tidy, and just how you left it. With happy, relaxed pets waiting for your return. Hi, I'm Mike, I run my own online business which allows me to work from home. With my partner in Rotorua, family and business partner in Nelson, and a strong network in Auckland, I like to base myself in those locations for a few months at a time. I've grown up with animals and actually went to university to become a vet because of this. However, I decided to do business instead and spend time with animals rather than working with them full-time. I've also recently been looking to adopt a dog, but due to only being in the one place for a few months at a time, I felt it wasn't the right environment for one. Having looked after a number of houses and pets now, it has given me a particular level of respect for other people's properties and extended pet family members. I treat them as if they are my own. I like to give them heaps of love and attention. I've also found home owners who have trusted me to sit for them have appreciated the updates and photos of the adventures, me and the pets get up to. Homeowners can expect a tidy, responsible and loving person to look after their house and fury friends. With ex army experience, I am rather tidy and also enjoy exercise. This is also shown in my 100% positive reviews. I'm pretty happy that all my housesits so far have requested for me to comeback. I'm pretty practical and am comfortable around most animals. If your dog is good on a leash then I'll be able to take them for morning runs with me too. I can be around the house regularly due to the nature of my online business and enjoy my own space,so there are no worries about misuse of the house. I'm also friendly and can communicate well. If you're happy to provide use of a vehicle then I'll also be happy to take your dog out to the beaches for runs as I love to get out to nature when possible. This is not a requirement, but some owners have their cars set up for the fur babies and the associated sand/fur :-) I'm happy to meet via video chat or phone, or if we are in the same location then I'm happy to meet in person too. I know how important it can be to ensure you're comfortable with the person looking after your most prized possessions and animals. Look forward to talking soon. Mike.

My name is Jackie and I am a 50yr old single lady with a beloved cat who is no ordinary feline - he chose me and he is now 19yrs old and has won the hearts of all who meet him, even those who are not fond of cats. He is discerning, talkative, small built but with a big personality. His name is Petros aka Petroski or Troski. As for me, I have done multiple housesits overseas and New Zealand. I've had a sea-change in life in the last couple of years, so my days are filled with working in jobs and volunteer roles that fill the soul not just the pocket (see work experience for details). I love people but am an introvert and enjoy the company of an animal just waiting for some focussed attention. I enjoy the thought that housesitting is mutually beneficially for both parties. I love to meet new people and get out of my comfort zone, seeing the places people call home (that includes the surrounding areas) and the animals they adore which allows me to see life from a richer perspective. I am very detailed, conscientious, tidy and organised. I always take my shoes off at home and try to leave an invisible footprint. I'm gentle, quiet and aim to leave a home in the way I left it. Some house owners have mentioned that I left their home in a better state than when they left it! It would be a pleasure to meet you and care for your animals to make their holiday away from you a contented one.

Hi there! I’m a friendly 40 year old, independent, responsible gal from southern New Zealand. After growing up on farms I enjoyed a successful corporate career and now enjoy a balanced lifestyle of working for myself and travelling. Gardening, playing guitar and ukulele, meeting new people, drinking good coffee and relaxing outdoors keep me entertained. I take pride in being a considerate guest in your home. I love animals of shapes and sizes due to my rural upbringing and hope to immerse myself in your community. I’m also an avid gardener so tending lawns, houseplants and vege patches would also be my pleasure!

Gra and I are an outgoing, happy couple. I am a retired Secondary School Drama and English teacher and Gra is a retired electrician. We love life and enjoy travelling, to many and varied countries (quite curtailed now!!) and seeing different parts of our beautiful country. I was born in England, and grew up in Ohio, U.S.A, until I was 16 when I came to live on the Kapiti Coast in New Zealand. Gra was born in Wellington and has lived most of his life on the Kapiti Coast. We have both always had pets. My dad bred Blue Persians while I was young. While our children were growing up we had cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, turtles, guinea pigs (not all at the same time!). We now have no pets of our own, but would really enjoy looking after those belonging to others, that need some love and attention while their mums and dads are away. We have recently downsized our home, and over the two years of the section buying and building process, we looked after several different homes for friends while they were overseas, including looking after their fur babies. We are very clean and tidy people and will look after any home we are invited into. The pets will be loved and well cared for. If gardens need watering, we are more than happy to keep this done. We are open to whatever else the homeowner may require. Thankyou for the opportunity to apply to be a housesitter with your company.

My highest priority is your complete peace of mind during your absence, and to keep your home and animals secure. I am extremely vigilant and security conscious. I will be looking after your Pets and Home with great care & respect. As I study online only part time, I can easily provide plenty of walk-runs, companionship and cuddles with your pets. I will also happily tend to any indoor plants, gardens and lawns. I hope to meet you prior to the sitting, as I'd like to listen and understand your expectations in detail. As I mentioned, peace of mind is my highest priority. I'm a vegetarian non-smoker, non-drinker, and a super friendly, quiet Kiwi guy who genuinely loves to help and care for others. During the sit I will be by myself the whole time, and there will be absolutely no guests, parties or anything of the sort. I'm responsible, diligent and honest. I will be sure to keep you updated throughout the sit with photos and other forms of reassurance. I pride myself on exceeding expectations and paying high attention to detail. I have attached various past job references stating these qualities. I have a sincere love for animals and have plenty of experience with them, having spent time on a farm and having countless pets throughout my life. I also have experience looking after business property and homes for owners. Additionally, I've done general property maintenance, gardening, landscaping, etc. I'm currently a part time civil engineering student but study online. I enjoy making music, camping, and spending time with my family pets. Please contact me whenever. I hope I can be of help! In the past I've cared for many animals, but have had the personal pets: Dogs: Maggie, Max, Joe, Oscar Cats: Kit kat, astro, Nico A pond full of Koi fish as well as fish tanks with smaller fish. 2 guinea pigs, and various birds.

I am recently retired, fit and healthy, looking for a new adventure. I am used to rural life, but am also comfortable in an urban environment.. I have not done any prior house sitting but feel it is something I would love to do after having had an extremely busy work life owning a café. I am keen to travel around our beautiful country a bit more and look forward to being a temporary local in a different region to get to know the area and some of the people. I consider myself to be an honest reliable person with good problem solving skills and am also observant and careful. I was brought up on a sheep and cattle farm in Central North Island and currently live on a lifestyle block north of Auckland where we have chooks, 3 dogs, 3 cats, sheep and cattle. Until recently we also had 2 horses. I have a good knowledge and understanding of animals and their needs. Not sure if I'm a cat person or a dog person as I love both but either way I am happy playing ball with the dog, going for walks or just a brush, pats and cuddles if that's what they need. I am happy to look after any pets you have so you can enjoy your time away confident that they are being loved and well looked after and your home respected as you would wish.

To Whom it May Concern, Prior to retiring Brian was a Self Employed Builder/Company Director and I was an Office Administrator at a Primary School for 19 years. We spent 2 years exploring the South Island in our motorhome when we retired. We did numerous house sits during that time (but not through this website). They varied from 10 days to 7 weeks. We returned to 3 of these to do second sits while the owners traveled overseas. We cared for both dogs and cats. Some of which required medication daily. Before returning North we spent 4 months in the Marlborough Sounds doing 2 housesits for a second time at 2 different homes but neighbours. We have returned each year to housesit for these 2 households. We regularly housesit in Omokoroa for a couple who first contacted us 4 years ago. We spend a lot of time on the road traveling NZ in our bus so would need space to park it if we come to your home? We are non smokers but do enjoy a glass of wine. Thank you for viewing our profile. If you would like more information please contact us. Regards, Brian Hart and Wendy Nicholson

My area of expertise within photography is children and animals. I am a trained Life Coach and Trauma Therapist. I merged my love for diversity and travel, becoming an Au-Pair in New Zealand, Australia, South America, and the UK. I have managed several wealthy households, young children, and family animals for over nine years. I love connecting with animals and often feel I speak their language. Michael and I are an older, kiwi couple who own and manage a quality, short-stay accommodation business in Auckland. We also own and operate an art gallery called Mobile Art. We're clean, tidy, respectful people who have raised a family and know how to keep a house in good working order. Michael grew up on a dairy farm and is comfortable caring for all livestock. He even helped run the neighbours piggery when he was 12. The family always had pet cats and working dogs and of course chickens. I grew up in the city and we always had a pet cat along with budgies and rabbits. Michael and I have had many cats and dogs over the years while raising our children, and though we have none of our own at this stage in our lives, we're always very happy to look after someone else's pets while they take a break. We mostly work from home and will keep your pet company during the day and through the night. As landlords ourselves, we understand how important it is to find people who will take the same great care of your animals and your property that you do. Michael and Diana

We are a newly retired couple from UK planning to settle in NZ wanting to experience different localities to help us decide where to purchase. Judith is a NZ citizen with family in Auckland and has visited NZ frequently (in pre-Covid times - having mentioned that, we should add we are quadruple vaccinated) .We are both animal lovers having had dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, tortoises, goldfish etc so we are delighted to have animals to care for. We both love nature and very keen walkers and intend to get a couple of dogs when we finally settle and look forward to lots of long walks on the beach or bush. Nigel is keen on jogging so if you have an energetic dog that can keep him company even better! Hi! We are Sarah and Michael, a young working couple from Auckland. I (Sarah) grew up in East Auckland and have always enjoyed having pets growing up. Growing up we had our two cats Pebbles and Smokey and our two Mini Schnauzers Stella and Topaz. I have many fond memories spending time with my pets over the years. I enjoy housesitting as it gives me a chance to spend quality time with new pets. Michael grew up on the North Shore and grew up doing a lot of sports, Football, Swimming, Athletics and has recently taken up Brazilian JiuJitsu. Michael had a really lovely bond with my dog Topaz and since meeting her he has found a new love of pets. Michael studied Computer Science at the University of Auckland and is currently developing a web application for his dad's company. I have recently completed a Diploma of Interior Design at The Interior Design Institute and am currently working in a Customer Service role full time. We are both very lucky with the fact we can work remotely which gives us the opportunity to provide quality time with the pets housesitting. Both of us are avid travelers and have been able to travel to over 20 countries in the past few years. We are very lucky that we have been able to tick so many sites and experiences off our bucket lists. When we aren't traveling we enjoy spending time in the outdoors going camping, hiking and swimming. We also love going on small road trips around the upper North Island. We are very excited to start our Housesitting journey to see new parts of New Zealand too! We are responsible and trustworthy people who would love to help out families with their homes and beloved pets while they are away. We are also very organised and tidy people so you can know that your home and pets will be in great hands while you are away. Please look through our references and get in touch with them if you wish. We look forward to meeting you and your lovely pets and hope you will consider us as your housesitters! Sarah Olifiers & Michael Sharp.

Hello and thanks for reading our profile. My husband and I are responsible, working professionals with a responsible 14 year old son. We live in our own home in Wellington. We enjoy holidaying in different parts of NZ and have previously hired, swapped, and sat houses, all to good effect. We appreciate the comforts of a house over those offered by a hotel or campground! We also bring experience at house sitting, caring for pets and gardens (we enjoy growing veggies, herbs and flowers). Until recently we shared a dog (border terrier) with my in-laws, as they had a larger fenced section and being retired are around home more often. However, they have now moved to a rest home, so we re-homed the dog with a family friend. We enjoyed our time with Rhona very much and appreciate the confidence our son now has around dogs. Currently, our pets are restricted to a 70 litre fish tank with tropical fish that our son Ricardo is proud of and looks after daily. Limited space and frequent holidays mean that we now enjoy other people's pets. My husband and I grew up with animals and pets, so are experienced, confident and caring with animals.I come from Argentina, where my parents owned a big farm (Estancia in Spanish) and they had cows and horses and of course cats and dogs. Horses were a part of the everyday farm management, not just a pet. Paul comes from Switzerland but grew up in Whanganui where his parents owned a lifestyle block. He grew up feeding the chicken, the cows and the horses, fixing fences and helping the parents with the produce (there was always fruits and veggies to be cared for and processed afterwards) or working during the holidays at a neighbour's farm. Paul has also 'farm sat', caring for commercial ventures in both New Zealand and Switzerland while the owners took much needed holidays. In addition to owning a home, we own a number of rental properties and manage these ourselves. This gives us a good understanding of the risks involved of allowing other people to live in our properties and the care that we would like others to take. Our profile includes a number of references from homeowners whose houses we sat. Further, with a little Googling, looking at LinkedIn or discussions you might even find contacts in common (as recently happened for our Auckland home stay). After all, NZ is a small place.

Hi there, Thank you for looking at our profile! My husband and I are originally from Auckland, NZ and have been living in Vancouver, Canada for the last 10 years. We return home to visit friends and family every year or two. In September 2022 we welcomed our baby girl, Sena, and can't wait to introduce her to everyone! We are both in our mid to late 30's and love to cook, travel, spend time outdoors, and watch good TV. We are both working professionals and work from home; I, Janine manage a marketing team at a software company and Jake is a creative director at an advertising agency. We are looking for somewhere safe and quiet to call home whenever we return. We are both very respectful and responsible individuals and understand the trust one puts into having their home taken care of! We own our home in Canada and take massive pride and care in it's upkeep. We are animal lovers and have grown up with family pets (dogs, cats, birds and fish). We have also pet-sat for friends more recently which scratches the itch for pet ownership until our family is a little older. We hope you'll consider us to look after your home & look forward to hearing from you!

We are a professional couple(both teachers) with a 13 year old son that attends Tauranga Boys College. We are one of many waiting for the building backlog to catch up so building can get underway on our first home. My mother in law has kindly allowed us to stay with her while we wait, however we have decided housesitting might help us all get through the experience still sane ???? We have been housesitting for friends and they have referred us on to their friends too. We are an active family that loves to get out and about, so walking your dog will never be an issue.

I am now retired and single. I have combined farming both in the South Island and rural Auckland. My academic career took me to Oxford University as a Study Fellow whilst completing my PhD in Social Policy. I currently undertake research and therefore spend time at home working. I have owned Poodles, Standards, Mins and Toys, over the last 30 years and absolutely love the breed. We raised pups and so understand training guidelines. I have also had cats and enjoy the way they are the 'bosses' we are the 'servants'. I am fit and therefore could do daily walks. I am also used to taking my dogs in the car (in harnesses) so if you are not adverse to having your little ones with me, I would be happy for them to come out with me (not in the heat however). I consider I am loving and patient towards animals. I have also owned horses and been a pony club instructor. I miss having dogs and cats around me now, my Daisy and Buddley died of old age and health and this was very sad, I also down sized to travel, my son lives in London, but Covid stopped that. I have pondered whether to get another dog, but I don't spend time at home, so this would be unfair, but having the opportunity to house sit and share some of the lovely pets with their owners is a privilege and fun thing to do. I am very house proud and therefore would look after the property with care. I do not smoke nor have parties. I would very much like to hear from you and chat about your darling pet.
