In July we are returning after 5 years working in Bangkok at an international school. Before we left NZ we sold our home and did 3 house sits before leaving the country. They all went very well. Upon arriving back we will be house sitting, with current bookings, from mid-July until early January. From that point on we are looking to add future house sits. With more free time at our disposal house sitting becomes an attractive way to be useful to others as well as offering new experiences for us. We have travelled internationally for both business and family overseas, as well as extensively throughout New Zealand, and having lived long spells in Wellington, Auckland and now retired to Bay of Plenty. With the family overseas, often our time away has been for up to 3 months, and on those occasions we have had friends and others staying at our home. We know what it is like to make your home available to others who you are familiar with and some who you are not but still have that small apprehension about whether it will be ok. We know how you are feeling making this commitment. We have been long term dog and cat owners, and currently regularly play house parents to a friend's dog. Walking and appropriate exercise is not a problem. Other friends also call on us to house sit and mind their precious moggy, often for longer periods. With golf being a sport that we both enjoy, the opportunity to play courses in your region is an added appeal for house sitting. but also assures you that we are fit and able to walk as far as your pets need. Choosing us to look after your house and pets will give maximum assurance that all will be well cared for, and treated as if they were our own. We are a early age retired couple who now travel New Zealand in our small bus. We would like to spend the cooler months house sitting to give us a break from the bus and stay a bit warmer. Before owning the bus we stayed at a lot of Airbnb places and always got a glowing review. We are animal lovers. We have always had a dog but since the passing of the last one we haven't got a new one as we often stay at campsites where dogs aren't allowed. We do miss not having a dog. Toni has a love of horses and has a small amount of experience with them so is very capable of caring for one for a short time. I also have experience caring for reptiles and I used to have pet reptiles in Australia. We are a mature aged couple who have both owned our own homes as well as renting. We feel we have respect for others people's belongings and can assure any home owner that we will do our best to ensure no harm comes to either their pets or their house or belongings. I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. We have always had in our lives the presence of animals (cat, dog, rabbit, chicken, tortoise) we also have experience for animals with particularities (deafness from birth for our dog for example adapted with sign language) or if there is care to be done or treatment to be given with chronic diseases. I’m a retired pet lover but because I often go to Auckland to visit family I can’t have a pet of my own. Because I am often in Auckland I could possibly be available for in person interviews for Auckland sits. I grew up in Auckland but have lived in Opotiki for 18 years and love it here. I don’t live in the township but in the very small beach suburb of Tirohanga, only one house back from the beach. There are 30 houses/baches and about half of them are holiday homes. Of the other half at least 40% are occupied by retired people. Lots of them have pets and I fill my animal craving by frequently visiting them. I’m even lucky enough to have a nearly daily visit from my neighbours cat, “Smoke” I can’t see the beach but at night I can hear the waves crashing. I’m physically fit and as I live near a beautiful beach I walk on the beach or cycle track daily. I do 20 to 40 minutes with the occasional 60 minutes thrown in for good luck. I love to read and play board or card games, especially word games. I’m enjoying my retirement but feel like I need to stretch myself a little and house sitting will do that. I began house sitting on a casual basis but since 2016 I’ve been doing it full-time, apart from a few interruptions from 2020 to 2022 due to Covid restrictions. Not only that, but I get a lot of satisfaction in knowing that I’m providing a valuable community service, because the homeowners get to go away reassured that their pets are living relaxed and safe in their own homes instead of dodgy kennels and catteries, and also that their houses are being watched over and safeguarded from the crims. I have over 20 years of full-time dairy farming behind me, 14 of those years in sole charge management of dairy farms, so I’m the ideal minder for house sitting/farm sitting/relief milking combos. I have also worked with sheep, goats, and drystock cattle. On past house-sits and farm-sits I have looked after a wide variety of animal and bird life including cats, dogs, deer, cattle, sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, alpacas, rabbits, chooks, ducks, turkeys, doves, and frogs. I’m particularly fond of cats – you won’t find a better cat sitter. I’m a non-smoker and a quiet individual who is not into boozing, parties, and noise. I’m also a confessed homebody who prefers pottering around the property as opposed to galavanting about the countryside, so the homes and animals in my care are under constant watch. Clean, trustworthy, tidy, practical, adaptable, and with a good ounce of common sense, initiative and No.8 wire mindset. No task is too big or small. I bring to every house sit a professional attitude and a quiet and calming disposition that soon wins over the most timid of pets. I enjoy what I do and I take a lot of pride in my work. During my stay at your place, I will be in regular contact with updates along with photos and video clips of your pets so you can be assured they’re getting well looked after, if not a little spoiled. I cover all my own groceries, gas, and I have my own transport, complimented with a clean driver licence. Under my contents insurance I’m covered for legal liability in case of any accidental damage. In all my years of house sitting, I have never had to use that insurance. Nevertheless it’s there – for peace of mind for both parties. I also have two rental houses of my own. I thus know what it’s like to hand the keys over to other people, and trusting them to look after your property while they’re living there. My preferred locations are rural and coastal properties, though I do enjoy the occasional suburban assignment for a change. I don’t charge a cent to look after houses, pets, or lifestyle blocks. I never have and I never will. For me, house sitting is all about the lifestyle. My ‘payment’ comes in the form of free accommodation, free use of the utilities, and free access to the vegetable garden and orchard. I can’t justify charging fees on top of all that. The only times I would invoice the home owners is if I’m looking after a commercial business of theirs, such as a Bed & Breakfast, orchard, or working farm, or if I’m undertaking some ‘improvement’ projects for them, such as painting the wooden deck or planting new trees – things like that. With over 19 years experience under my belt, there’s very little about house sitting I don’t know. It's only relatively recently that I joined the House Sitting Company, but I have loads of verifiable references, with nearly 60 reviews on another house sitting website. My grandmother supplied the local shop and she also keeps bees! My main interests are modern history and modern architecture and vintage engineering (cars aircraft trains and radios). Sold house in Takapuna and given away almost all my possessions. Intend to travel for the next 8 or 9 years including spending time with my wife in Melbourne. I'm generally adventurous, I grew up as a farmer's daughter, so I appreciate animals and the environment. I have two adult children, one nearby in New Plymouth and the other in Australia. I recently returned from Australia where I had one house-sitting position and three woofing placements. My main past times are gardening, riding my electric bike, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the years I've had numerous significant pets. My first was a calf that I cared for and trained. Because of my fondness for her, my Father kept her until I was seventeen when I went to the Waikato to qualify as a Nurse. Another pet I was particularly fond of was a canary, which sang beautifully and I called him Gusto. Unfortunately, he died during covid. More recently I had a stray cat that determinedly made herself home with me. Pets are great companions and I appreciate them very much. I began house-sitting before retirement, and have cared for cats and dogs, plus a few sheep and a donkey. These situations have been for family, friends, and acquaintances for periods of almost a week to a month.

Taking your pets to a cattery on kennels is way too stressful for them and not really an option. I am a full time Mum (with a background in Event Management), my husband owns his own building company. Our reasons for wanting to house sit are two fold. 1) For opportunities to stay in Auckland for longer term visits to see our family who we really miss and 2) We absolutely love exploring our beautiful country, but as living costs increase it's becoming harder and harder to have holidays away. We usually stay in air bnbs, but house sitting would help us out immensely. We are home owners in Wanganui and we have also extensively used air bnbs to take our girls on mini breaks away. All our reviews from staying in different homes have been A+. We also personally keep a very tidy, organised, clean home in Wanganui. Although we don't own a lot of pets (currently two cats), we love animals! We are very caring by nature and very frequently visit friends farms in Wanganui who have a wide range of pets/farm animals which our girls love to experience. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. Our girls are also very respectful and tidy and absolutely love nothing more than 'playing house' when we go on holiday. I believe this would be replicated if we were to house sit. My children and I lived on a 10 acre block in Waimauku for several years and cared for a variety of animals including cats, dogs, hens, sheep, cows, and the occasional rabbit and duck! Because of Geoff's years spent at sea his opportunities to care for pets have been limited, but in his younger years his family owned cats, dogs and budgies. Geoff and I spend the summer months,October through to April, in New Zealand, which is when we are available for house sitting. We have a yacht berthed in Penang, Malaysia, and we are there during New Zealand's winter months. Geoff has spent nearly 13 years cruising in South East Asia, and I joined him in 2012. Geoff is a shipwright and is capable of servicing a wide range of appliances, machinery etc.He served in the New Zealand navy for 8 years and after leaving he worked as a commercial diver whilst building his first yacht. After sailing for many years in the Pacific, Australia, Africa and Europe, he settled in Brisbane, where he set up his shipwright business. He then built his second yacht and set sail for South East Asia. My previous working life involved a variety of positions, including working as a supervisor in a childcare centre in Waimauku, Auckland, and then as a sterile services technician at North Shore hospital in Auckland. I have two sons who live in the Netherlands and Belgium, and 1 grandson. Because of our lifestyle on the yacht we are organised and tidy in our habits. We enjoy exploring new environments, so house sitting promises to be a great way to meet new people, have some much-needed interaction with animals again, and reunite us with different parts of our country after being away for so many years. We are a professional couple taking time out from work to travel and spend time with family. We are 58 and 59-years-old, have been married for 39 years and have three grown up children. We have over 15 years experience caring for and loving pets whilst their Mum and Dad are away. Over these years we have been in lots of different house/pet-sitting situations. One of our first pet sits was for a gorgeous old Collie dog who had diabetes and needed daily injections. He also had two sisters who were cats and we looked after them all for many years. We started house sitting over ten years ago as a friend had 7 cats and was travelling for five months. We have cared for these cats over many years since. During this time, we have had to give medication, visit the vet and as the years progressed look after their personal care needs much more. We have also sat for three dogs for many years; a black Labrador, Chihuahua and a Border Terrier. We are both extremely, kind, loving and practical and have ensured that pets are cared for in the same way we care for our own pets. We treat your babies the same way as we treat our own, giving them our time and immense affection and kindness. We are both at home all day so can give your pets all the attention they need. We love animals and have also spent some time helping look after pigs, hens and horses. I was a Trustee for a small city farm and my husband managed areas of the same farm. We are asked again and again to house sit because we are careful to keep your house beautiful and send regular pictures and updates of how happy your pets are. I always cook a meal for the returning home owner and replenish their fridge. My husband is extremely able around the house and land and people are happy to see their grounds kept well. I was an Education Consultant before retiring. I am also a keen cook and house maker. My husband has been a Social Care Manager for many years, as well as buying, renovating and selling properties. I am a very fit and active retiree. I left the workforce eight years ago to travel to various parts of the world, including some of NZ which I hadn’t yet been to. I have been involved in sport all my life and interested in organics and sustainabilities for many years, so decided to become a Woofer (Willing Worker On Organic Farms). I have thoroughly enjoyed all my placements in NZ, Australia, USA and Portugal. I have visited places and met people that I would never had the chance as a tourist and learnt about growing fruits, vegetables and raising animals in an totally organic and sustainable manner. I have looked after many animals and learnt how to give back to the land for future harvests. Six years ago in 2018 I bought a lifestyle property in the Far North, so have not been able to travel as much, or house sit as I used to, while working hard on my land. Now however I have more spare time, & look forward to being able to travel in NZ. I currently work on my orchard of 100+ trees of every description imaginable, & 4 large vegetable plots. I farm totally organically, eat in season, & am self sufficient(++) with fruit, vegetables & eggs from my 5 chickens. I am able to swap my excesses for milk, meat, cheese & bread! I feel very fortunate. I also have extra acreage which I use for growing grass, (local farmer makes hay in summer). I have also done two caminos (long walks) in both France, and Portugal into Spain. These were 750 and 700km respectively, in 2014 & 2017. My most recent was from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. I have been a proud homeowner since 1980. As a house sitter, you will have someone with old fashion values of care & respect for your property, a good work ethic, totally reliable & honest. As for pets, when my children were growing up, we had a Staffordshire bull terrier, rabbits, cats, cockatiel and baby goats. Currently I have 5 chickens. While woofing I have looked after lots of dogs, cats, goats (learnt to milk), chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, and loved all those times. My woofing hosts would sometimes leave me to house sit at weekends, or in one case, for 10 days when an unavoidable event happened. On that occasion I looked after a small farmlet of goats, cows chickens, vegetable garden, orchard....the entire property. I loved the challenge and was totally equal to the task of overall management. I love outdoors work. Obviously I enjoy walking, so dogs love me for their twice daily long walks. I volunteered for the Golden Retriever rescue for 6 years interviewing adopters, walking the goldens, and picking up very frightened golden's from shelters to bring into our rescue. I have always had a cat, the biggest love of them was 19 when he passed on. I have a 5 yr old rescue black cat. I also grew up with chooks. I am a competent horse rider and will consider looking after most animals. Would love to throw on my gum boots and head out to the paddock to cover a horse or move an animal to another paddock. I am a Scottish country dancer and like to walk, garden, read and knit. I am willing to go anywhere in NZ and would prefer a rural setting. Furnishing a home can be costly so I always make sure when house sitting that I'm always cautious of peoples belongings. There's nothing worse than a carpet stain!! Maewyn I’m a retired Primary School teacher and currently a part time ESOL teacher. Ken and I love visiting different parts of NZ, particularly the warm sunny Bay of Plenty and Auckland. Now is a time in our lives when we are fit and well and able to enjoy visiting other places. Housesitting gives us an opportunity to care for the homes and pets of the owners while they take a break, secure in the knowledge that their property and pets are being well looked after. We enjoy table tennis, reading and walking. We both love pets and have always had a cat. I had hens and a fox terrier as a girl. Ken and I downsized our home in Christchurch in 2014. Sadly, our beloved cat Rosie passed away and we decided not to get another pet. Now we enjoy other peoples pets as often as we can. To me they are like grand children who thrive on love and attention. That's our goal, to treat your pets like our special grandchildren, ensuring you will be worry free as we care for them and your home. We are happy to water plants and do light weeding. Ken I grew up in rural Otago, Southland and Mid-Canterbury. I started my 'hands on' with animals at primary school with a pet lamb I called Topsy. However I did a lambing beat while at high school, and later mustered cattle on horseback in Southland's Hokonui Hills. Over the years I've helped out on farms vaccinating, crutching and drenching sheep and running farming camps for high schoolers. We've even farm sat, a sheep and beef property while the owners went yachting. After graduating from Lincoln University I spent time working overseas in agricultural education (Australia and Tanzania). On returning to New Zealand I was employed by Christchurch Polytech (now ARA) to teach Trade Certificate Farming, and run animal husbandry courses for lifestyle block holders. For 30 years I sold and supported farm computer software and worked with sheep and deer breeders to improve the performance of their stud stock. I’m almost fully retired now with just a bit of computer support to keep my hand in. .

We are a semi-retired couple who like to take breaks away from our busy life in Raglan. I have various volunteer roles here, plus grandchildren, and Robin is a trauma therapist working from home - he retired from a medical career in 2020. We have used house sitters for our own home when we used to travel overseas for work and appreciated the security it gave us while we were away, knowing that our home and pets would be lovingly cared for. We would be very happy to provide this for other people. We are both very clean and tidy - we take pride in having a lovely comfortable home. In the past we have owned a small lifestyle block on which we ran dry stock, raised calves, tendered to our chickens. Hi there, Thanks for your time. My name is Stephen and I'm a mature, quiet, well adjusted person in his 60's whom loves cats, dogs and most other animals. My sister and I sold our family home in Auckland and decided to 'take a break' from it all and she suggested we try house-sitting. I see this as a win-win for all parties involved, especially the pets as they get to be looked after and cared for in their own home. I love helping owners relax when they go away, providing them with peace of mind knowing that all is well with their loved ones and home. Massimo, my Staffordshire Bull Terrier of 13 years past away in November 2015 (see photo in my profile) and I miss him dearly. This is also a great way of getting my regular 'pet fix' and enjoying a variety of new canine/ feline friends. As a keen photographer, I am also looking forward to exploring and taking some great shots of the local areas. I also love photographing pets whilst they're relaxed at home, so leave me a USB drive and there should be some nice portraits waiting on your return! For the last 20 years I've been working in the support side of Information Technology and will be using this time to research a new career in Organisational Development. This means I will be there for pets that are used to constant companionship as I have my own PC and will spend a fair amount of time on the internet doing this and other leisure activities. Having also owned my own home, I've had cats and/ or dogs for most of my life and will care and cherish yours as if they were my own and I know what it means to take care of and run a household. Glenn and I have been house sitting for friends and friends of friends since October last year and have just loved the experience. Both Glenn and I are animal lovers. We have owned dogs, cats and chickens over the years. We own two properties of our own in the Tauranga area. These properties are both tenanted out. The reason for us leaving our main home of residence is so we can put a little money behind us and travel overseas to visit our daughter in Wales, UK. I've travelled extensively over the years - lived in the UK for the usual two year OE in my twenties, then was seconded to Singapore for a further two years in 1998. Mick is a keen diver and loves to get out in the garden, Tracey used to be a professional cleaner so keeping a home sparkling clean is my thing - I also love mowing lawns. We both love to walk and do lengthier hikes & can be found in the mornings trying to beat each other at Wordle & Quordle. We are both people who take pride and care not only in our home (including the grounds) but any home we visit or stay in. We absolutely both respect your home is your castle, that your pets are your joy and we want you to go away knowing we will love your animals and care for them & your house (and grounds if required) so you can just relax. I worked for many years in the Hair and Beauty industry as a Hairdresser and Beauty therapist. I have owned business and employed staff in the past. Both David and I grew up in cities, he in Illinois and me in Massachusetts. We met in the US Navy. David and I retired as Lieutenant Commanders from the United States Navy in 1994. Our duty stations have included Adak, Alaska; Norfolk, Virginia, Pensacola, Florida; and Honolulu, Hawaii. After retiring, I started and taught a Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Class at a Hawaii High School. We then moved to Billings, Montana, where we lived from 1996 to 2001. When our youngest of two children graduated from high school, we moved to rural Montana and built a log home, where we have lived since 2001. We have1 dog (miniature poodle), and numerous outdoor cats. I have also had birds (cockatiel, parakeet, finch & canary), guinea pigs and fish as pets. David also has a knowledge of beef cattle, goats, ducks, and chickens. My hobbies include vegetable gardening, bird watching, and needlework. David's main hobby is wood working. He works part time as a ranch hand and does odd jobs such as carpentry, plumbing and repairs. He has worked at farming for local ranches and has knowledge and can repair most farm machinery. We both spent 12 years as members of the local volunteer fire department, he as chief, and me as secretary treasurer. I also ran the weekly senior meal program in our small community for 17 years. Our son is a resident of New Zealand who met his New Zealand wife in Osan Korea. They live in Dunedin where he works at the University of Otago, and she is a teacher at a local school. This will be our fifth visit to New Zealand, and we have seen a lot of the country in the previous 3 visits. My sons' children are 20, 18, and 16. They live at the University. We would love to take care of your pets and home while you are away and while we are in NZ visiting my son and his family. We arrive the end of January 11, 2025 and will leave March 2, 2025. Growing up, my family had a Samoyed dog and two cats. My father was also the local dog walker and I often walked the dogs as well. Hello I'm Jane. My husband, Kerrin. and I live in a wonderful spot in the Bay of Plenty in New Zealand where we are lucky enough to share a beautiful beach community with like-minded, fun people. We love getting out and trying new things, having adventures, spending time with family and exploring our magnificent country and we have been on some wonderful trips in our trusty caravan. We have more freedom now that Kerrin is semi-retired and can come and go as he pleases. He has been landscaping for 34 years and would be very happy to do any repair and maintenance work such as paving or fencing, or even new work you might want to have done while you’re away. I am able to work remotely and am happy to take it with me. However, we have found it is not that easy to do in a caravan, thus the idea of housesitting! Of course this means I would be at home with your pets all day most days. We have also hosted BnB before so are aware of what is important to hosts, and would be very respectful of your property. I am also very house proud and a bit of a clean freak so you can be assured your house will be spotless! Having lived on a farm in Zimbabwe I am very used to working with all sorts of animals and have a huge love for them. We raised so many orphaned animals from deer, to squirrels and owls and nursed many injured or sick animals back to health. As well as this, we had 5 dogs, 3 cats, 2 aviaries and many little animals like rabbits, tortoises, guinea pigs and hamsters. My biggest challenge moving here 20 years ago was only being able to have one pet!! I have often looked after pets for friends and family. At the moment I have a Spoodle staying for a week and a friend drops her dog off with us everyday. I love taking them all walking on the beach- so special seeing them all playing and chasing each other! Last Christmas we house sat for my son for 10 days to look after his cats and chickens. I love the chance it gives me to have more animals in my life!

We lived and worked in Christchurch for 22 years, before moving to Papamoa 9 years ago. As our sons were growing up, our household pets also included a cockatiel, a black-hooded rat, and 2 goldfish! We have also frequently looked after a neighbour's diabetic cat, including giving daily insulin injections. As we are retired, we have more time to devote to your pets and your home. After our last elderly dog passed away 7 years ago, we really missed having a dog in our home, so became approved volunteer puppy boarders for Blind/Low Vision puppies, and are still enjoying providing this service. Allan's parents were dairy farmers, and he loved farm life. He is an enthusiastic golfer and gardener, a Justice of the Peace, and volunteers for the Papamoa Community patrol. Jenny is also a keen gardener, enjoys both an exercise/social group and a craft group, volunteers regularly at Good Neighbour Food Rescue, and loves being involved with a Music and Movement group for preschoolers and their Mums. We both belong to Probus, and are also rostered on for several roles at our church. As we have friends and family in Christchurch and various parts of the North Island, we are excited about the prospect of house sitting when we travel to those areas, as well as when we explore new areas that we haven't yet been to. I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. I no longer have pets of my own so I would really love the opportunity to care for yours, either outside of Auckland when I ready for a break or in Auckland for a 'staycation' I am mature, responsible, respectful and resourceful. Rosie's father is from NZ and Taz has extended family who emigrated here many years ago. We plan to make our long term home in New Zealand. We find bonding with animals is often very easy and natural. In our personal lives we have cared for many dogs and cats in houseshares in the UK (where we lived previously) including rescuing and raising a GSD mix at 9 months old (Hank) between 4 friends. Hank is now 10 and thriving! We understand housesit-ees with rescue pets may have more concerns due to their pets rescue 'quirks' but want them to know we are very familiar with this territory. Patience and consistency are so important and we are happy to take on the routines needed so your pet is at their best while you are gone. I have done a lot of housing sitting over the years and have cared for and feed many animals. Auckland for 3 months looking after dogs and cats. Farm animals or feeding chickens, which is no problem as I am a country girl at heart. I have had looked after 3 large dogs. One that required monitored medication daily and exercise. I have also had to feed unwell cats medicine etc and have no problem caring for your pets no matter what there needs. I enjoy the company of animals especially since I am away from home so much. I love all animals and especially their little characters. Whilst I am at home during the summer months, I used to host overseas students that come to NZ to learn English. I have had many students over the years, Swiss, Thai, Arabian, Japanese, Chiian, Brazilian. Life is one big adventure! I like to be kept busy; I love to travel, discovering out of the way places, meeting new people & embracing life. But my family pets have always been a top priority. House sitting offers some exciting opportunities, but more specifically it will provide me with the pleasures of 'adopting' your family pets, if only for a short time. (And, I certainly miss not having my own pet to care for). There has always been a cat or dog (or both) in the house and then there have been the children's tropical fish, German rat, guinea pigs, rabbits, and birds! We've even had a couple of cats 'adopt' us! I also volunteered for 18 months at a bird rescue centre a few years ago which was a very rewarding experience. From a young age until her early 20s, I also used to spend a lot of time at my aunt & uncles farm where they had a dairy herd, goats and a chicken run. Animals have always featured in my life. I have been fortunate to have had some wonderful House & pet sitting opportunities over the past 3 years (with a global house sitting company) looking after dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and birds - most of these sits were while I was based in the UK. I'm now cutting back on my time away from NZ and, after hearing very positive comments about The Housesitting Company, have decided to join so that I can focus more on NZ sits. My recent sit, in Turiko, required care of chickens and lawns, both of which I tended with care. The chooks made interesting subjects to draw. As a sitter I live quietly. Because I love home Ill be at yours most of the time, popping out for the odd 4 hour work shift, shopping, walking, and meeting friends. If you have gardens Ill do a spot of weeding, am happy to mow lawns, and generally keep indoors and out neat and tidy. I walk most days and enjoy walking dogs, perferring smaller breds. Two weeks 2014. Other times in Auckland, while a friend visited UK, collected mail, fed cat, clean house, water plants, this lasted five weeks. At present restoring a colonial house in Leigh area, caring for cats, little goats, chickens and a dog, since then work has stopped. My latest Housesit was in Western Springs for ten days, the ginger cat Lucy had a stroke so needed a lot of care. Lucy loved to sleep on the bed with me, I loved having her close. The other cat Diesel was more independent. My other duties were watering the garden and collecting the mail. Also over the Xmas new year period I went to houses with sole purpose of feeding, patting and caring for four different cats. Also specialise in turtle minding, feeding for my son and his girlfriend. I am an animal lover who is kind and considerate who will care for your pets and house with love. I do prefer to look after cats as I can go to work during the day (Please note: I do not work from home, I work as a temp) if you have a dog that can be left for the day that may work to? I love meeting new pets and especially love to catch up with wee friends I have cared for in the past. I absolutely adore cats and dogs, and have met some very interesting characters along the way! and I look forward to meeting many more. I grew up with a Cat and dog, and just love their company and playing with them, and don't mind at all if they snuggle up in bed. I'm also happy to administer medication and flea treatments etc. and take your wee friend to the vet if required. I am a hardworking primary school teacher who loves to spend time around nature and animals and travel around NZ in my spare time. I own my own home as well as a rental property, so am responsible and understanding towards other home owners. Growing up in rural Waikato with a father who is a conservationist, I was surrounded by all sorts of animals. I've had many pets/farm animals: guinea pigs, rabbits, birds, chickens, sheep, goats, ducks, geese, rodents, lizards, cats and a dog. We are an active retired couple who enjoy walking and biking who have always had cats and dogs over the years, and as we now live in an apartment that does not allow pets, we really look forward to our housesitting positions that include them. We are both responsible and respectful and look forward to meeting and looking after your beloved pets while you are on holiday . Over the last 6 yrs we have looked after dogs, cats and chickens and as we are active enjoy the exercise for us and the animals. As we now have a lot of time on our hands, we thought this is a great way to see our beautiful country. HELLLO! ? I'm Courtney (35 y/o web designing mum). My son, Marlo (nearly 2), and I are excited about the idea of house sitting! What a great idea! We LOVE pets, are extremely tidy, clean and respectful. Marlo is very cute and a good boy. I'd say we are kind, friendly and chill - early nights / cooking / baking / reading / and playing at the playground are what we love to do. We’re currently residing in my dads basement, so we can come and house sit at the drop of a hat. Long term would be preferred. As long as there is fast internet, heating, in a safe area, a secure carpark and TV we are good! (Depending on what pets you have - I might not be so keen on pitbulls or large dogs unless theyre old and really calm understandably with a todller around). We are a semi-retired couple who have lived with and cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, ducks, chooks, goats, sheep, and horses. We are fit, active, resourceful and capable individuals, and 'mature' enough to have experienced just about everything life could throw at you. We don't currently have fur-babies as we have just downsized and are now temporary urbanites. I am a keen gardener, fastidious housekeeper, and lover of the outdoors. I have also been known to do a bit of cooking on the side. We are looking for our slice of paradise to call home, so house/pet sitting is a great way for us to travel the country while we search for that ‘little’ corner of Aotearoa that makes our hearts sing. Having done this for a few months now, we consider ourselves to be well travelled, seasoned house sitters. Your lovely home and much loved pets are guaranteed the best of care, though we absolutely refuse to fall in love with them. Hi there! I'm very new at this, but have lived alone for the past few years. Haha! I'm an easygoing man who like to spend his offdays hiking, cycling and surfing. I'm a PE teacher and work in the outdoor sector. So, trying to live as healthy as possible, love cooking some nice meals. I'm pretty tidy as we can't handle the mess. "If the kitchen is dirty, your whole house is dirty" -Mom - I have/had pets at home: 8 cats, 4 dogs, some chickens and even 2 goats, were our family's guests ones. I have experience in gardening, since I did it as a holiday-job and gained the trust of my parents back in the days, to do it at home as well! Haha She grew up on an orchard, always helping her dad. Good morning/afternoon, I am a French 24-year-old guy, I was a civil engineer in France before coming to New Zealand - I arrived 3 months ago. I intend to visit the country from the end of February, and I am currently living in Wellington, where I currently work in security. I have been living in a proper flat with one kiwi flatmate for 2 months now. I want to visit New Zealand until mid-April, and then I will be looking for a job in Auckland. For my trip throughout New Zealand, I will be travelling with my French partner I have actually met here in Wellington. She is Audrey, a 26-year-old girl. She is really (really) kind, friendly but also serious and tidy. She speaks better English than I do, as she arrived in the country 10 months ago. Furthermore, she is very familiar with NZ culture, landscapes, fauna and flora as she has been planning this trip for 4 years. Her job is a freelance graphic designer, so she is used to remote working. She has been a house sitter several times. She has also done some couch-surfing many times with good reviews. We are both animal lovers. I have personally grown up with 2 cats at home, and I have always liked playing with my uncle's dogs. Audrey has grown up with an American Akita and also loves cats. Plus, she has been horse riding when she was younger. We are both clean, serious and tidy person. We really appreciate taking care of our living and working spaces. Hello, Vanessa and Marcel here. We have been house-sitting for the Housesitting Company since 2018 and have done about 20 house-sits right around the country. Vanessa grew up in Mount Maunganui and Tauranga but has more recently lived in Otago for the last 20 years. Marcel has lived in Otago most of his life. We now live in Invercargill where Vanessa is studying to be a Nurse, and Marcel drives a School Bus. We both love dogs and cats and have had our own pets in the past. Marcel has until recently had Labradors and a couple of cats. Vanessa has recently had both cats and dogs, Chocolate and Vanilla the cats, and Chico was a very much loved Tibetan Spaniel. We have mainly looked after cats and dogs, but also horses, rabbits, fish, and one Axolotl. Vanessa has studied the first year of Vet Nursing at Otago Polytech and gained a Certificate in Animal Care. We both love the outdoors hiking in summer and skiing in winter. We own our own property so we are mindful that you expect us to look after your property and pets as if they were our own.

We have our own home in Rodney district. We are pretty much retired. Lesley is a registered nurse and Richard a freelance IT specialist doing occasional work from home. At the moment our 2 children in their twenties are in the UK. Circumstances make it necessary for us to return to the UK from May 23rd to September 12th so we will be unavailable during that period. We are pretty much home birds and are very happy to chill and read or make friends with your lovely pets. We have house sat before for a variety of pets - cats, chickens, fish, dogs - and very much enjoyed this. The main reason being that we are animal lovers and Lesley especially is feeling pet deprived at the moment since having to put down our most adored cat Ginger 18 months ago. We have taken the decision not to replace him at for the moment so she has become that annoying person that has to pet everybody's dog on the beach and talk to every cat in the street! We are mature responsible people who totally understand the need to feel that your home and pets are being properly looked after and treated with respect and would be very happy to do this.

From May to August 2023 I was in Australia house sitting for my son and his wife while they toured Europe. We always had dogs and cats when I was growing up so I'm comfortable with having them around and looking after their needs. I house-sat for some friends and their two beautiful dogs over the winter of 2018 and decided I wanted to continue doing it for others. I'm a self-employed entrepreneur and can work online from anywhere. I enjoy the variety of moving around and experiencing different places. Because I work from home I'm able to be there a lot of the time to keep an eye on things and keep your pets company. I'm tidy, self-sufficient and responsible with other people's property. Kia Ora! We’re Emma and Elias, twins on tour through New Zealand with a working holiday visa, eager to explore the country and its people. Whilst looking for an accommodation we’ve stumbled upon house/pet sitting, which seemed perfect to us both. Both of us adore pets and animals in general and even though we only have fish at home;), both of us have plenty of experience, especially with dogs. I, Emma, did a school exchange in 2020 and lived in a family with 3 dogs (a husky and 2 adopted strays). I took care of them every day of the year, taking all three of them on long walks through the beautiful nature of Andalusia and still, almost three years later, I miss them dearly. I also made a habit out of going to the local Dog-Rescue-Center, taking little pups without a home on walks along the beach. I, Elias, have a close friend with 3 young australian shepherds. Back in Germany I joined them for a walk every day over the last year and cared for them whenever the family was away. I’ve helped educating them since the age of 12 weeks and went through all stages of adolescence with the little rascals. All three of them have a special place in my heart and they will be my first stop when this travel experience comes to an end. Even though both of us have more experience taking care of dogs, we have helped friends and family with cats whenever we had the chance to. If you choose us as sitters you can expect two young, responsible adults to take care of both your home and your animal/s with lots of love and passion. Also, we bring plenty of time with us due to us not working at all or only working part time! That means we are very flexible and can always prioritize your pet/s. We’re looking forward to meet you and your little family!!!
