Hi, I love living with animals, and really miss not having been able to care for one of my own, be it a cat or a dog, due to my living situation and lifestyle. I'm pretty active, enjoying tramping, running, cycling and going to the gym. Reading, drawing and meditation are also important for me. I've started my first garden in decades - pretty exciting. I don't smoke. I work part time online, and study Te Reo Maori. I spend a lot of time at home and have a flexible lifestyle. House sitting offers the chance to catch up with friends and activities in other regions. It's also a good opportunity to have some 'quiet' time for study, as I live in a house with other people. It's a great household, but it's just nice to mix it up. Most of my house sits are through word of mouth, so I've posted some of those references on this site, and can supply contact details of others.

Hi! I'm 31 yrs old, and currently taking a break from studying criminology at AUT. My interests include arts & crafts, music, food, and animals. I love animals! However, my landlord will only allow me one fur baby. Please allow me to coo and cuddle your fur babies. I love cats and dogs, but would also enjoy looking after small animals (rabbits, guinea pigs) My fur baby is a 13 year old grey cat named Zoe. I've completed 200 hours of vet nurse work experience at 4 vastly different vet clinics (including St Luke's exotics). That's a lot of time making sure that many client's pets are a-okay! Additionally, I was an SPCA volunteer for 4 years. Though I only have a bit of house sitting experience, I know how to look after a house. As expected, I will treat your home with the utmost respect. Privacy and cleanliness will be part of everything I do. I am a home body, but will not be noisy or disturb the dynamic of the neighbourhood. I’ll mostly be going on walks, doing arts & crafts, the odd meal out with a friend, and looking after your pets. I take up odd hospitality temp jobs here and there, but it will not interfere with my duties in your house. Further discussions can be had regarding watering plants etc. Email me if you'd like a copy of a little form I'll fill out (if I'm lucky enough to be contacted). I hope this mini-essay sways your decision-making in my favour, which coincidentally will also be in your favour. Want a worry-free holiday? Book a meet-and-greet today :)

Hello, I'm Sarah, and I'm currently studying towards my Masters degree. I love house sitting because I get to interact and live with animals in new places while also being able to support myself and study. I've pet/house sat many times from when I was quite young, and have experience with many pets from cats and dogs, to lizards and birds. As a frequent house/pet sitter I'm very familiar with both pet and household needs and can look after your pets and home to ensure you have one less stressor during your time away.

Dear Home & Pet Owner I am writing to express my interest in the housesitting and pet-sitting opportunity you have available. With a deep-rooted love for animals and a proven track record in responsible pet and house care, I believe I am an ideal candidate for this role. Experience and Expertise: Comprehensive Animal Care: I have extensive experience caring for a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, ducks, and various farm animals. From daily feeding and grooming routines to administering medications and providing ample playtime, I ensure each animal receives individualized attention and care tailored to their needs. This ensures they receive not only scheduled care but also spontaneous interaction and companionship. Flexibility, Availability & Immediate Response: In case of any emergencies or unexpected situations, my immediate availability allows me to promptly address any concerns and tend to your animals' needs without delay. Hello! I am George, a 31 year old Kiwi male. I am an animal lover, tidy, courteous and relatively new to Auckland. I have done plenty of pet sitting and house sitting in the past! I work in the film industry. While this means long and intensive hours when films are shooting... It also means extensive breaks between films, where I am completely free with my time for weeks/months on end. I am currently entering a 'break' in work for the next few months, before resuming in August. I think housesitting is an excellent way to help you care for your pets, while cutting my own costs, in these breaks. Plus, I absolutely adore quiet time in the company of animals. I have owned two dogs in the past and also foster cared for many others. I have lived with and cared for cats also. I am the proud first choice dog sitter for many of my close friends and would absolutely have the love and care for your animal and your home, as my top priority. I also bring a fair amount of home maintenance experience, having worked in construction for 3 years. I really hope you can trust me to bring as much respect and care as I can while you're out of town. Thank you and happy holiday! George Giblin

My genuine love for animals dry me to provide them with the highest level of care and attention. Kia Ora My name is Christine, I'm 55 yrs old and only moved to Auckland in January 24, after running a Massage clinic on Great Barrier Island for 17 years. Tuesday to Thursday, I study Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture at the College for Chinese Medicine in Ellerslie, Fridays is zoom classroom, Monday is home study. But if needed I can anytime study from home and during Term holidays I would be around your pets 24/7. I am flatting with a friend in Glenn Innes, so house sitting is a great way to give her some space and myself some looking after beautiful pets, as I had to leave my gorgeous Foxy named Kahu behind. Also, living on Great Barrier by the beach and lots of bushwalks on my doorstep, I really appreciate taking dogs for a run. I grew up on a dairy farm in Bavaria, Germany surrounded by cats, dogs, chooks and other animals, I am an experienced and a very caring and loving pet mother. In my downtime on Great Barrier, I volunteered for St. Johns as a first responder, where I was a keen and trusted volunteer member under Adam Johnston, so police check is nothing new to me. Apparently, I am a very tidy and quiet person, don't smoke or drink and love cleaning the house or doing the dishes, as I find it meditative and relaxing. Also, studying late in my life is fun and I am focused on spending the weekends with my daughter who is boarding in Auckland. I am financially independent, but looking after big homes and pets is what I used to do (privately) on Great Barrier Island as a favor towards friends or even Massage clients owing a holiday home there. I would love to care and look after your pets, cat or dog and would make sure your precious animals are happy, and your property is returned in pristine condition upon your return home. Longer term house sitting is not a problem, and I have a car (mobile) Arohanui, and thank you for considering me. Christine

Kia Ora We are Aline & Tony, a French/Kiwi couple who deeply love animals and their company! That's even how we met 4 years ago, working together for the SPCA in Rarotonga, Cook Islands. We managed the local SPCA for a year and really enjoyed helping all animals around the island even though there were some tough, sad stories as you can imagine. We decided after that to offer our pet sitting services as we couldn't see ourselves living without furry interaction. Dream job in Raro right! Who wouldn't like walking dogs along the beautiful beach & lagoon with on average 25°C?! Sadly with the pandemic and the borders shut, we have both lost our jobs and had to come back to NZ! We have been house sitting full time in Auckland since December 2021 and are loving it. We get to meet lots of furries and see different parts of the city! We have received many 5* reviews that we will gladly share with you. We are a quiet, mature, trustworthy and respectful couple who will cover your pets with love and take great care of your property, leaving it very neat and tidy. We look forward to meeting you

I am a single Mature Woman with with adult children who are happily living their own lives in Hamilton and Auckland. I worked for many years in the Hair and Beauty industry as a Hairdresser and Beauty therapist. I have owned business and employed staff in the past. I now work remotely for a septic tank cleaning company doing telemarketing and database management. During the Covid lockdown I revived my crafting stills creating some interesting upcycling projects. I had been asked by friends to housesit and care for their pets. It seemed a natural progression to I chose to housesit in anticipation of travelling and I joined an international housesitting site, meeting some fabulous people whilst in the UK in 2018. Many of these people I am still in contact with. On my return to New Zealand my desire to travel remained so I continued to move around seeing more of our beautiful Aotearoa. Among the animals I have cared for cats both indoor and outdoor, dogs large and small young and old, chickens ducks and fish and also some livestock. Returning to housesits many times means I have developed some great friendships with both the animals and their owners, and also in some cases neighbors and friends in communities. I look forward to meeting you your animals and experiencing the area that you call home.

Kia Ora, Ryan here; looking forward to meeting you and those lovely pets of yours! I'm somewhere in my 40's. Stopped counting at 39 and no one saw me turn 40 as I was middle of nowhere on the coast of Cambodia. I grew up with labs and cats and have house sat for many people over the years. People who's pets I still know by name on sight. If you have horses too I'm qualified as far as to say I can put their feed out each night and give them a rub on the nose. Maybe a sneaky carrot if they are well behaved. I travel around NZ a lot and as a run my own online business I am flexible with both time and location. This means I can often travel depending on your needs and stay as long as needed. Housesitting enables me to move around New Zealand experiencing different little pockets of this beautiful country of ours. I am responsible, respectful, and professional. To get a feel for how I conduct myself you may want to view some of the well over 650+ online reviews for my business. How I treat my clients is how I conduct myself in general; honest, thorough, and detail focused. Your home and pets are in good hands with me. You can except your home (and pets) returned to you in the same condition you left it (them) in. Please also have a look through my references if you wish and feel free to call anyone of them. I have housesat for these people often. I must be doing something right to keep getting asked back. I'm new on here (the housesitting company) however have been housesitting for 7 years or so now for my own regular contacts. My most regular house-sitting engagement involves caring for 2 horses, 2 cats, and a dog called Jimmy! I would also make myself available, obviously, to meet on the phone or in person if you were considering me to house and pet sit for you. I look forward to meeting you, Ryan Ambler.

Good morning/afternoon, I am a French 24-year-old guy, I was a civil engineer in France before coming to New Zealand - I arrived 3 months ago. I intend to visit the country from the end of February, and I am currently living in Wellington, where I currently work in security. I have been living in a proper flat with one kiwi flatmate for 2 months now. I want to visit New Zealand until mid-April, and then I will be looking for a job in Auckland. For my trip throughout New Zealand, I will be travelling with my French partner I have actually met here in Wellington. She is Audrey, a 26-year-old girl. She is really (really) kind, friendly but also serious and tidy. She speaks better English than I do, as she arrived in the country 10 months ago. Furthermore, she is very familiar with NZ culture, landscapes, fauna and flora as she has been planning this trip for 4 years. Her job is a freelance graphic designer, so she is used to remote working. She has been a house sitter several times. She has also done some couch-surfing many times with good reviews. We are both animal lovers. I have personally grown up with 2 cats at home, and I have always liked playing with my uncle's dogs. Audrey has grown up with an American Akita and also loves cats. Plus, she has been horse riding when she was younger. We are both clean, serious and tidy person. We really appreciate taking care of our living and working spaces. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. Hope to hear from you soon.

I am a 77 year old ex-South African. Retired but still doing some consulting, remotely. Full driver's licence. I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. TV is therefore a 'nice-to-have'. I also need somewhere safe to park my car, preferably under cover. I look forward to speaking with you soon ... Liston (I am on WhatsApp)

Hi there, My family call me a dog whisper I love animals and traveling and the traveling doesn't allow me to have my own four legged friends so house sitting is a wonderful mix of those. I like rural locations and adventure spots, Mountain biking, skiing, bush or ocean walks and my global doggy friends get well excited when we go see these places. Equally happy caring for cats, horses, donkeys, chickens and have had several experiences looking after people's homes and pets. Currently living in Tauranga and looking for some sits to get me away from the house and connected to new environments and people while working online. Happy to connect to have a chat via video chat so we can align to your needs while you are away. Look forward to speaking soon.

Hi, Thanks for considering my housesit application! I understand it is a big deal to entrust your pets and house to someone else and I would really like to be able to chat with you so that I can know exactly what you require, and you can see that I would be a great house sitter for you. I am new to house-sitting, I have secured my first house-sit, and am really eager to secure some more! I am a 61-year-old university teacher who is looking to do housesitting in the Auckland city area. As a university teacher, I have flexible working hours and can often work from home. I am a long-term property owner myself and previously owned a lifestyle block north of Auckland. My wife and I have now purchased a house away from Auckland where we want to retire and be close to our daughter. In the meantime, I am continuing my job in Auckland and would enjoy the experience of looking after a place on a short-term basis. I love animals and have cared for a range of animals over many years: we have had our whippet, Maisie, for the past decade, and on our lifestyle block we had chickens, goats, and sheep. I also used to have a cat, Georgie, and am happy to look after cats as well. I am also a keen vegetable and flower gardener. I keep a tidy and clean house and can be relied upon to look after a place in a responsible manner. Regards, Geoff

I am excited to introduce myself as a seasoned housesitter with a unique blend of experience and skills that make me well-suited to provide exceptional care for your home and beloved pets. With a background in providing childcare for families, I have developed a strong sense of responsibility and attentiveness to the needs of both people and pets alike. Throughout my years of housesitting, I have had the privilege of caring for the homes of families I have nannied for, as well as for the extended network of family and friends. This experience has equipped me with a keen understanding of the importance of maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment while homeowners are away. Growing up in a household filled with various animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, and frogs, instilled in me a deep love and respect for animals of all kinds. Currently, I am the proud owner of a boisterous boxer cross dog (who I will not bring with me on a housesit), whom I rescued and have devoted considerable time to training and caring for. This experience has honed my skills in handling pets with unique needs and behaviour issues, making me well-equipped to provide patient and compassionate care for homeowners with pets that require extra attention and understanding. In addition to my experience with pets, I am dedicated to maintaining the security and integrity of your home during your absence. Whether it's watering plants, collecting mail, or addressing any unforeseen issues, you can trust that I will go above and beyond to ensure that your home remains in pristine condition and your pets receive the love and care they deserve. Thank you for considering my application. I am eager to bring my passion for housesitting and my expertise in pet care to your home, providing you with peace of mind and the assurance that your property and pets are in capable hands. Warm regards, Zaena

I was previously registered as a house sitter whilst living in an apartment in cbd Auckland. It was nice to stay in a "real" home every now and then. I went over seas and travelled around the world as I'd finally freed up time after 25 years in real estate sales and other business commitments. I'm a wonderful house keeper / cleaner, so I'm a great match. I love to cook too and used to make my pets gourmet meals! I have an eye for detail and take pride in keeping property clean and tidy. You can rest assured your home will be looked after. Pets too, are assured of the love and attention they deserve. As a family (my children are adults now, and I'm single) we have always had pets. Cats and dogs. Mainly small breeds of dog. I've owned and loved: Bichon Poodle Chinese crested powder puff Fox terrier Jack russel. Small energetic dogs. We've also owned the exact opposites. Whilst living on Waiheke Island, we enjoyed Maremma sheepdog and Dogue Bruxelles : a HUGE BOY called Golly He pulled my kids around on a sled! I'm happy around all animals. My forte' is cleaning and I'm not put off by much. I'm energetic, polite and respectful of peoples property, pets and privacy. Thank you. CORALIE LUSH

My wife, Annette, and I (John) are both retired. We are both looking forward to travelling the country in our retirement and Housesitting would suit us as we will have a limited budget for accommodation. We don't have pets currently but have experience with Dogs and Cats. We moved in to town 7 years ago, previous to this we lived on 3 different lifestyle blocks over 16 years where we had Sheep and Chickens. During that time we also raised a Cow and a Goat. :) We keep our own House very tidy and would take the same care with any house we stayed in. We would love the opportunity to take care of your house and pet.

We have our own home in Rodney district. We are pretty much retired. Lesley is a registered nurse and Richard a freelance IT specialist doing occasional work from home. At the moment our 2 children in their twenties are in the UK. Circumstances make it necessary for us to return to the UK from May 23rd to September 12th so we will be unavailable during that period. We are pretty much home birds and are very happy to chill and read or make friends with your lovely pets. We have house sat before for a variety of pets - cats, chickens, fish, dogs - and very much enjoyed this. The main reason being that we are animal lovers and Lesley especially is feeling pet deprived at the moment since having to put down our most adored cat Ginger 18 months ago. We have taken the decision not to replace him at for the moment so she has become that annoying person that has to pet everybody's dog on the beach and talk to every cat in the street! We are mature responsible people who totally understand the need to feel that your home and pets are being properly looked after and treated with respect and would be very happy to do this.

We are retired and are fit and young at heart. We have been house sitting for the last three years, both in New Zealand and Australia. We are super tidy, especially my wife! and we love pets. Until we traveled abroad for career purposes, we always had pets and dog for the family. When the children were little we had a pooch, black and fluffy for about 14 years, growing up they had the company of a black Labrador. Coming to Fiji we looked after our friends dog for 2 years, a large doberman, one that would lick you to death! And just lately again to help out friends going overseas for 12 months a beautiful German Sheppard and the cat, both couldn't live without the other, and together they provided most of the entertainment! I love walking, and it just isn't the same without a best friend. We know pets love routine, and we will enjoy to fit in with your regular way of looking after them. We are used to having pets, enjoy spending time with pets, and understand their needs of companionship. We have six children, all grown up with their own family. Having had a significant overseas and New Zealand based career, we have had the benefit of high end company homes to live in. References on how we looked after these homes are readily available. We have also included some pics of our home at Vuda Marina, Fiji. What you can expect is, to return to your home with pleasure, absolutely spotlessly kept, both inside and out, including any pool maintenance and garden maintenance. We expect to make lifelong friends with any home owner for whom we will look after the house and property and pets. Hank and Cherie Arts

Hello! Chris and Rae here!! We are very careful and responsible people. An older couple, semi retired, we have had house sitters in our home and have been very grateful for the way it was cared for. We want to do the same for you. Our Birman cat Coco - if she was still alive, would vouch for the love and attention any cat in our care would get. We miss her terribly. We want contact with other cats. We would like to stay in some areas in NZ and get to know them better. Especially by the water! - being sailing people..... We would love to take good care of your home and cat(s) or fish or well behaved dog - we love walking!!! - so that you have a carefree holiday. Maybe next year we will continue our travels around the world and visit our family - in the meantime we will look after yours while you travel.

I am currently running my yoga online business from home and travelling around New Zealand filming my yoga classes, along the way I’m also taking a holiday as my children are all grown up, I’d love to stay in new towns around nz to experience the beauty within each town. I’m tidy and clean and lead a peaceful life. I love cats and dogs, my own have sadly passed on and I miss them so much. I would care for your home as if it was my own and be a lovely friend and care for your pets should you have them. I adore cats, I’m a cat lover but I also love dogs as I had a very athletic, both adventurous and laid back massive golden retriever Max, he went every where with me as we both loved to be out and about, equally he was happy to stay home and chill with me when I was at home.

Hi there. My name is Neryl. I have recently retired from work as a care giver in a dementia unit at a care facility in Rotorua. I am currently travelling around NZ in my campervan and am looking forward to doing a few house sits along the way. From May to August 2023 I was in Australia house sitting for my son and his wife while they toured Europe. They have an adorable fluffy black and white cat which I had great pleasure in looking after while they were away. I have enjoyed the company of animals most of my life, mainly cats. I currently have a beautiful cat named Lucky. She is being looked after by my son and his family while I am away. I know how valuable our pets are to us and I will do my upmost to look after your pets with the same love and care as I do for my own pet cat, Lucky. .

About us: My wife and I have professional backgrounds which require us to have an eye for detail. Myself, in the areas of Sales, Marketing and time in the Air Force, and my wife in the areas of sales, childcare and visual merchandising. Together we have three respectful teenage children, aged 14, 16 and 18, who all love animals. I work fully remotely and our three children are homeschooled, so there will always be someone available to keep your pet company. Growing up on a farm and having owned a lifestyle property ourselves, we understand the intricacies of caring for various animals, from dogs, cats, and fish to poultry and livestock. Our experience means we are responsible and have attention to detail, making us well-suited for looking after your precious home, cherished pets and animals. Experience with Housesitting and Pet Care: Our family brings a wealth of experience in both house sitting and pet care. Having managed our own property with chickens (raising several lots of chicks), cats, livestock and more, we are familiar with the commitment and dedication required to ensure the well-being of both the home and its inhabitants. Additionally, our previous experiences include successfully house sitting for various families, where we maintained a secure and comfortable environment for both homeowners and their beloved pets. What you can expect as a home owner: If you choose us as your house sitter, you can expect a family that treats your property with the utmost respect and care. Being ex-military, I understand the importance of maintaining order and cleanliness. Your home will be well looked after. Our commitment to ensuring the security and well-being of your pets is unwavering, and we will provide the same level of care and attention as if they were our own. In summary, our family doesn't just bring experience in housesitting; we are a family who genuinely care about the well-being of both homes and pets. Choosing us means entrusting your property to a responsible, disciplined, and compassionate family with a proven track record of excellent care. Thank you for considering us as your house sitters. We look forward to the opportunity to discuss how we can provide the best care for your home and pets.

We began housesitting last year in March 2023 as our apartment was and still is!!! undergoing major renovations. We have thoroughly enjoyed this experience and have loved looking after houses/pets throughout Auckland. As we have enjoyed it so much - we are deciding that even/when our apartment is complete we will be continuing to make ourselves available to housesit. So a little about us: We are a professional couple in their 50's. We are both working full-time in Auckland, but Craig does shift work so there is a lot of time that he is home when I am at work and vice versa. Prior to moving into our apartment we had both cats and dogs as our pets and these were brought up with our three kids, and we have loved interaction with animals that we have been lucky enough to get to know over the last year. If we can assist you by providing safe secure environment for your pets whilst you are not there, we would be delighted to do so. We always treat the home as if it is ours and respect the rules of the house and how you want our interaction with your house and animals to go. I (Julie) am a 5th generation Aucklander and I grew up with two dogs (lab X & mastiff/ridgeback X), four cats, budgies, chickens and even looked after our uncles pet pig! There was always a cat or two on your lap at home, with a dog asleep on your foot, a budgie on the shoulder. I love the fact that we are able to introduce our grandkids to how to treat well with animals and see them grow to love them as we do. Craig (6th generation +) hails from Wellington and now an Aucklander. He has been employed in a senior management role in the government for over 20 years here in Auckland (so I have told him that makes him an Aucklander - but he is apparently only an Aucklander, when Auckland wins in sport!)- and was brought up with smaller dogs (terriers & pugs) and cats. As he works shifts he is often available in the day to walk dogs/ have the cat curl up with him! As stated both of us are full-time workers and have Therefore, we are motivated and keen to be your sitters.

I have been living in NZ for 2 years and would like to visit and explore more areas around the country. I am a professional who is able to work remotely. In the past, I have owned cats, dogs, and birds so I am familiar with how to care for them. I have also been a homeowner in the past and know the importance of having someone trustworthy to look after it.

We're a responsible and trustworthy couple who truly enjoys the company of animals. House sitting allows us to explore new areas while providing a comfortable, home environment for pets when their owners must travel. We have a deep appreciation for the bond between people and their animal companions, which motivates us to ensure every pet in our care receives the same level of love and attentiveness they're accustomed to from their owners. We have over 16 years of experience, caring for our beloved dogs (Toto 17 and Biscuit 15 ), they are no longer with us and that is why we would love to look after some animals , making sure they are fed, litter boxes cleaned, and getting plenty of pets and lap time. We are also the grand parents to a Jack Russell called Remi , he is a very busy boy and needs lots of cuddles and a cat called Cheese . We will provide a warm, loving environment for pets, treating them as we would our own furry family members. Owners can have peace of mind knowing their beloved companions are in caring hands.

Reliable, experienced and mature, I love the adventure of staying in a variety of homes and neighborhoods with the companionship of someone else's pets. I am clean living. I don't drink or smoke and enjoy, meditation, reading, walking and a good Netflix series. I first had the experience of looking after peoples homes while they traveled when I worked as a temp nanny. I later began doing house and pet sitting for friends and networks through word of mouth. My formative years were spent living on a farm and as an animal lover I've always had dogs, cats and even chickens as part of my own family household. I enjoy cat cuddles and nice long dog walks. If you choose me as your sitter, you can expect very good communication around your sitting requirements, that I will connect with your neighbors and send you regular updates about your pets or any issues that arise. As well as your pets well being you can be confident your property will be kept secure and your plants and garden will be watered and well looked after. About me. I work in the Community Development sector and have post graduate qualifications in International Development and Political Science. I am fortunate that with modern working, I can work flexibly. This means I do a lot of my working from home and am able to manage my working hours around other responsibilities as needed. I am able to arrange and adjust my time to accommodate your pets needs as well as spending time at home with them during the working week.

Hi there, my name is Kirsty and I am wife to Richard and Mum to two daughters who are 8 and 4. We are ex Aucklanders who moved to Wanganui in 2019. I am a full time Mum (with a background in Event Management), my husband owns his own building company. We are a Christian family who love music, theatre, nature/outdoors, singing, reading, and travelling. Our reasons for wanting to house sit are two fold. 1) For opportunities to stay in Auckland for longer term visits to see our family who we really miss and 2) We absolutely love exploring our beautiful country, but as living costs increase it's becoming harder and harder to have holidays away. We usually stay in air bnbs, but house sitting would help us out immensely. We are home owners in Wanganui and we have also extensively used air bnbs to take our girls on mini breaks away. All our reviews from staying in different homes have been A+. We also personally keep a very tidy, organised, clean home in Wanganui. Although we don't own a lot of pets (currently two cats), we love animals! We are very caring by nature and very frequently visit friends farms in Wanganui who have a wide range of pets/farm animals which our girls love to experience. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. Our girls are also very respectful and tidy and absolutely love nothing more than 'playing house' when we go on holiday. I believe this would be replicated if we were to house sit. We look forward to hearing from you, meeting your adorable furry friends and caring for your home while you are away.

We always had dogs and cats when I was growing up so I'm comfortable with having them around and looking after their needs. I house-sat for some friends and their two beautiful dogs over the winter of 2018 and decided I wanted to continue doing it for others. I'm a self-employed entrepreneur and can work online from anywhere. I enjoy the variety of moving around and experiencing different places. Because I work from home I'm able to be there a lot of the time to keep an eye on things and keep your pets company. I'm tidy, self-sufficient and responsible with other people's property. My motto is 'leave things the way I found them'. I look forward to meeting your beloved pets :-)

Hello, my name is Joyce but everyone calls me Joy and I have been housesitting for the last 18 months. I retired in 2013 and had been traveling internationally as a volunteer worker at summer camps in Australia, America, and England until the Covid lockdowns. I started housesitting so I could enjoy what our beautiful country has to offer and discover all the little nooks and crannies while out walking pets and talking to the locals that one tends to miss while traveling from A to B in a vehicle I have been house/pet sitting in and around Christchurch and have had several callbacks from earlier sits looking after dogs, cats, and hens. I would now like to take my time to explore and enjoy other regions around NZ. Please feel free to look at my references and contact any of my referees, who will be more than happy to discuss with you, the wonderful times I have had house/pet sitting for them as well. Please be assured that I make a point of not taking pictures of any of the homes and pets I have sat at because to me that is someone else's sanctuary and is not to be taken lightly. I look forward to hearing from you in the not-too-distant future when I can be given the privilege to care for your home and the precious animal members of your family.

We are a healthy and fit couple in our late 60s, originally from The Netherlands, who have recently sold our home. Currently we are waiting for our new apartment on the North Shore to be completed (expected settlement is June 2024), so looking after other people’s houses is a great way to bridge that period. Jos is retired, while Lucien still works as a software developer - mostly from home. We have always taken pride in our house, which was very obvious when the real estate agent who sold our current house remarked that she wished everybody staged their houses like we did. However, it was not even staged, and our house sold for a remarkably high price. We ran a Homestay for 6 years in Wellington, which was up and running 3 weeks after we moved in, so we know the importance of keeping a house clean, tidy and well presented! We have had dogs ourselves - Golden Retrievers for many years, and a sweet little Cavoodle for the last 12 years (who sadly passed away a few months ago) - and we look after the dogs and cats of our children from time to time, so we know how to care for animals, and are happy to care for yours. When you select us as your house sitters you can expect that we treat your house and belongings (and any animals) as if it is our own, with care, dignity and respect.

Hi there We are just entering that wonderful new season of life where we are ready to tone down everyday stress and focus on the good life. Hugo is an expert in aviation and the handyman extraordinaire who loves to fix things wherever he goes and Lou is a semi retired teacher. Our family pets and home have always been very important to us so we would look after your fur babies and home as if they were our own. We have just returned to NZ after an exciting posting overseas which has given us the travel bug so we are keen to explore more of New Zealand and would love to help care for your pets and home while you are away.

Hey there! Max and Dilara here; we are young professionals living in Auckland and would love to take care of your home and give your fur babies all the attention they need! We are both vaccinated and boosted, have been thoroughly police vetted (Max in order to work in an embassy, and Dilara in getting a New Zealand work visa), and are non-smokers. We were both raised in pet-loving families - Dilara's father is a veterinarian and constantly had pets around - and we would love to housesit with animals. Max has experience with pool maintenance, having had a pool. Max also was the owner of a landscaping/handyman business and enjoys helping with home and gardening maintenance. We love playing tennis, hiking, and exploring new cities. If it is possible, we can meet you and your pets virtually, or in-person, before the sit to go over any details and expectations and get to know each other. Please feel free to reach out, we look forward to hearing from you! References are available on request.

Kia Ora! We’re Emma and Elias, twins on tour through New Zealand with a working holiday visa, eager to explore the country and its people. Whilst looking for an accommodation we’ve stumbled upon house/pet sitting, which seemed perfect to us both. Both of us adore pets and animals in general and even though we only have fish at home;), both of us have plenty of experience, especially with dogs. I, Emma, did a school exchange in 2020 and lived in a family with 3 dogs (a husky and 2 adopted strays). I took care of them every day of the year, taking all three of them on long walks through the beautiful nature of Andalusia and still, almost three years later, I miss them dearly. I also made a habit out of going to the local Dog-Rescue-Center, taking little pups without a home on walks along the beach. I, Elias, have a close friend with 3 young australian shepherds. Back in Germany I joined them for a walk every day over the last year and cared for them whenever the family was away. I’ve helped educating them since the age of 12 weeks and went through all stages of adolescence with the little rascals. All three of them have a special place in my heart and they will be my first stop when this travel experience comes to an end. Even though both of us have more experience taking care of dogs, we have helped friends and family with cats whenever we had the chance to. If you choose us as sitters you can expect two young, responsible adults to take care of both your home and your animal/s with lots of love and passion. Also, we bring plenty of time with us due to us not working at all or only working part time! That means we are very flexible and can always prioritize your pet/s. We’re looking forward to meet you and your little family!!!

Hello my name is Izzy, I am a law graduate who is beginning their legal career. During this time I work in community pharmacy while I look for a legal role. I house sit as it is cost effective way of living in Auckland, and give me the ability to enjoy different parts of the city. I also lost my dog 2 years ago and love animals, but due to family are unable to adopt another pet, housesitting allows me to love other's pets. I have house sat frequently for the past few years for family friends, and friends of friends who have heard about me. I want to ensure that your animals are taken care of to a high standard; as I am someone who spoils their pets! I inform owners of any issues promptly to ensure that you are aware of how your pet is doing. I have cared for both young and old animals and have no issue with handling medications and special requests. Please reach out to me if you have any concerns or queries. Thank you.

Hi everyone :) We are a mature married couple originally from Germany. We moved to New Zealand this year together with our little daughter after we fell in love with this country during our working holiday year! We did many farm jobs during that time and took care of many different pets and animals, which made our whole experience in another country feel so much more like home! We are non smokers and like to keep the house tidy and clean! We both grew up with cats and also did sit dogs before. Right now we are waiting for our tinyhouse on wheels to be finished building so we are open for house sitting until mid april 2024.

We are Taz and Rosie, we have been living in Nee Zealand since July 2022. Rosie is an NZ citizen and Taz is here on a partnership visa. We work in the summer on festivals and events in management roles for glamping companies and in the off season we have been working as landscapers/gardeners with Taz doing some building work also. We travel in our campervan to jobs over the summer so housesitting would be ideal for us to see more new places in New Zealand or to take some more relaxed days between jobs. Taz has had family dogs at home his whole life and studied Animal Management at college. He has cared for dogs, cats, reptiles; lizards including large lizards like bosc monitors, some snake experience, rats, hamsters and chickens. Taz rescued a dog in the UK in 2014 and raised him with friends who he lives with now. Rosie has had cats as family pets her whole life as well as small tropical fish. I have cared for dogs of friends/family over the last 10 years including becoming a main guardian for Tazs dog after we met in 2020. Other family pets have been horses and pigs which I have some experience providing care for. With the right instruction ahead of time we are comfortable with almost any animal! We have both house sat previously for friends and family in the UK and have house sat 3 times in NZ most recently being July 2023. This has covered stays of 2 days to 3 weeks with care for dogs with a range of needs (nervous dogs, walking routines etc). A homeowner can expect that we are a clean, tidy and responsible couple. We love animals and would be more than happy to have a routine during our stay that supports their wellbeing, be it extra fusses or walks! We also understand that there is a lot of trust allowing someone to stay in your home space and would treat your home with the utmost respect.

We are a semi-retired couple who have lived with and cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, ducks, chooks, goats, sheep, and horses. We are fit, active, resourceful and capable individuals, and 'mature' enough to have experienced just about everything life could throw at you. We don't currently have fur-babies as we have just downsized and are now temporary urbanites. I am a keen gardener, fastidious housekeeper, and lover of the outdoors. I have also been known to do a bit of cooking on the side. We are looking for our slice of paradise to call home, so house/pet sitting is a great way for us to travel the country while we search for that ‘little’ corner of Aotearoa that makes our hearts sing. Having done this for a few months now, we consider ourselves to be well travelled, seasoned house sitters. Your lovely home and much loved pets are guaranteed the best of care, though we absolutely refuse to fall in love with them. Glowing personal references can be supplied should they be required. Cheers, Rosie & Mike

My name is Claire and I’m an active, caring and friendly person. I love travelling and have seen much of the world. My recent travels have been around New Zealand and I have stayed in some wonderful homes which I have treated with pride, always leaving them clean and tidy. All my reviews are thankful for the way the home has been left and all say they would welcome me back. The opportunity to take up the lifestyle of house sitting appeals to me. I have owned many pets Bailey was a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier who was much loved by all in our family for many years. Our two cats Chardonnay and Benson lived to 19 and 18 years old. Our goldfish lived for 12 years and I have also owned lots of tropical fish. So my experience with various loved pets is long standing. The joy I get from animals is enormous. If I was successful in securing a Housesitting position I would be very respectful in looking after your house. I would return it to you just how you left it. I would take care of your loved pets just how you would. I even love gardening and would happily potter in yours. And I would relish the experience of living in a different environment.

I have completed several house sitting stints for friends and friends of friends. From one week up to three months, I have cared for cats, hens and dogs which I love to do! As a homeowner looking or a house sitter, you can expect a home left as you found it, happy animals and a no drama housesitter!

Greetings! My name is Alannah and I am an above average gardener that loves to sing to her plants and to match this I have a big heart for animals. I have experience looking after cats, dogs, fish and rabbits. I previously owned a boxer, "Nugget", who I loved and adored and I was brought up with regular visits to our family farm which has sheep, horses, chickens and cattle. I work from home Monday to Friday, so will be around most of the day to keep your furry friends company. On the days that I perform, I always make sure to prioritise pets feeding and exercise schedules, with lots of cuddles when I get home! When I am house sitting I am very aware I am a visitor in your home and will do my utmost to care for it the way you would. I leave it exactly as I found it. I fully understand the responsibilities associated with house minding as I used to take care of an Airbnb apartment, which involved cleaning and preparing the rooms to a hotel room standard and taking care of clients, ensuring they have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. My goal is to give you peace of mind when leaving your home in my care. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Additional references are available upon request. Best Regards, Alannah Peterson

We are Ninoska and Hernan, a young couple determined to travel the world. Hernan is a computer engineer who works remotely for the Internal Revenue Service in Chile, and I am a holistic massage therapist. Both of us are calm and organized, and we are already in our 30s. We love online games, board games, watching movies, and enjoying delicious food. Hernan is a fan of manga and anime, while I enjoy learning about self-care and spirituality. We are looking to save some money, but most importantly, a quality that might interest you is that we adore animals! Both of us are very affectionate and careful, and we will take care of your beloved pet as if it were our own child. We have both had pets and understand the responsibility and love that comes with caring for them.

Hi There Our family embraces a pet-friendly lifestyle, enjoying walks, playtime, and companionship with furry friends balancing work responsibilities. With a track record of owning and caring for multiple properties over two decades, we embody trustworthiness and a relaxed demeanor. During the years we cared for a variety of pets, including goldfish, hamsters, cats, and dogs, fostering a deep understanding of pet care through feeding, play, and affection. Bernadette and I take pride in maintaining a clean living environment and tending to the garden as and when needed. When house sitting during our travels and remote work in New Zealand, we extend the same level of respect and care to others’ homes as we would to our own. Our flexibility in our career stage allows us the freedom to dedicate our time and attention to ensuring that your home and beloved pets receive the care and affection they deserve. Your instructions will be followed regarding the care for your fury friends and the care of your home. Our children are aged 15,14 and 9, they have had their own pets over the years while growing up. They are also responsible, clean and tidy, while they enjoy swimming, reading and walking they also enjoy playing computer games when the weather isn't that great. You can trust us to provide a reliable and nurturing environment while you’re away and you can relax knowing that your house and pets are well looked after. We look forward to hearing from you and looking well after your “home sweet home”. Wayne and Bernadette

I'm a retired optometrist, living in a retirement village and would like a change of scene now and then. I'm well-travelled and have good reviews on Airbnb. I haven't house sat, but am a farmer's daughter, so familiar with dogs, sheep, cows and hens. I used to have pet lambs and had a couple of pet (wild) ducks for a while. We had numerous pets when my children were at home, including guinea pigs, rabbits, ducks, cats, lovebirds, tadpoles, a lamb and I remember looking after the school mice in the holidays. I have fed friends' animals and I have a cat at home. My interests are travel - I have 2 children in the US and have been to around 40 countries - computers, reading and music (to a lesser extent). I'm mainly interested in short stays. You can expect me to do what you need and leave your place as I found it.

My partner James and I are both primary school teachers. We are staying with family in Auckland to spend more time with them before we move overseas later this year and would love the opportunity to house sit. We will work casually as relief teachers during our stays so will be flexible with times to attend to pets. We have both grown up around and lived in households with cats (we love cats and have always wanted our own but unable due to rental restrictions), guinea pigs, fish, rabbits, chickens and dogs. I have had experience house sitting and looking after family and friends dogs, cats, birds and chickens when they have gone away on various trips. We live a quiet lifestyle and enjoy relaxing at home. We are respectful and trustworthy people who will care for both your home and pets as if they were our own while you are away. Look forward to hearing from you!

Hi, I'm Jess and my partner's name is Sam. We are NZ permanent residents, originally from the UK. We have been living in NZ now for almost 7 years; 5 in Auckland and a year and a half in Queenstown. We are just coming to the end of a few months abroad visiting friends and family after Covid and will be needing to search for jobs before putting down any permanent roots in one location. Both of us grew up in very animal-orientated households. My parents work for animal charities and so we were forever taking in strays or fostering. We each have extensive experience with cats and dogs, and would be comfortable with other animals if needed. Any homeowner could expect us to be respectful of their home and responsible with the care of their furry family members. We have a whole life in Auckland already so would treat your house with the same respect as we treat our own while we go about trying to slot back into a working routine.

I am an animal lover, affectionate and responsible person. English is my second language but I can follow instructions without problem. In my country of origin (Chile) I have worked for 11 years as a veterinarian, therefore I am the right person to care for and accompany your pets. I know how stressful it is for them to change their routines, which is why I can take care of them at home while you are away. See you

Hi! My name is Ashley Rohloff and I'm a 20 year old uni student going into my third year studying a BSc majoring in Physiology and Psychology and the University of Auckland. I pride myself on being very honest and reliable, as well as highly respectful - I commit full dedication to every job and can provide assurance that I will take the exact same approach to house and pet sitting - I understand the magnitude of leaving your home and pets in someone else's hands and would like to reassure the owners I'm a great person for the job. For my first 2 years of university I lived and worked within the first year halls of residence but have moved home to (very) south Auckland for my final year - I'm finding the commute strenuous and being heavily involved in many extracurriculars and my work typically being central I would love to move back into the city, get experience house sitting and be able to meet my financial goals for the year! I have lots of work experience in different fields and positions, as well as being blessed with many academic/ schooling roles and achievements so can provide a wide range of references to show my character and commitment! I have little experience house sitting but having grown up rurally, horse riding most of my life and being an avid Ag-Day participant I have lots of experience caring for pets and livestock. A homeowner can expect a very happy and bubbly, enthusiastic but highly responsible and trustworthy sitter who can ensure utmost care taken for homes and pets alike.

Hi there, I'm Kelvin and I'm 34. I believe everyone should have a great holiday where they don't have to worry about their pets knowing they're safe and well looked after in their own home. I have had several animals over recent years but most recently has been a cat, birds and fish. I believe animals are part of the family and have so much love to give. I have previously house sat for friends to look after their house and poodle over his aging years and health needs. I currently work for St. John Ambulance as a driver. I am clean and tidy, non smoker, honest, reliable and will look after your pet as if they were my own.

I am a young and active senior who retired at Christmas 2021, I had worked with Ontario's largest Children's Mental Health Agency for 18 years. I am a non smoker and tea total (well coffee addict). I arrived in back NZ early 2022 after spending 19 years in Canada. My husband passed away in 2021. Quite the battle to get into MIQ to return home, with the lotto draw they installed !!! I am currently living with my son and daughter in law, and it would be nice to spend time away on the odd occasion. I house sat before leaving for Canada in Omokoroa and Mount Maunganui. One was an Avocado Orchard and they had 70 Parrots in aviaries on the property, such fun. I have been the proud owner of 5 rescue Old English Sheepdogs.. not all at the same time !!!! so I know about grooming. My last dog Boomer was 116lbs, (52.5kg) a big strong boy and the light of our lives. In 2020 we started to foster dogs brought up from Texas from the "high kill" pounds. Copper was our first, A Walker Coon Hound... never heard of them before and what a delight with his howl. I will leave your home as you left it though I do enjoy gardening and cleaning windows... My hobbies are reading, walking, knitting and TV..... I am a friendly person. get on with most people, I am the listener not the talker... I grew up in UK, came to NZ and then followed my son to Canada. Just went for a holiday and met my husband, tore up my ticket and stayed put....... I consider NZ home..... Recently I have house sat for dogs, cats, sheep and alpaca's, what fun they were .

Hi, my name is Michelle. House sitting really appeals to me, it gives me variety from my day to day schedule . An opportunity to visit different areas, towns and suburbs, that perhaps I haven't yet experienced. It is also like having a holiday away from home. Over the years I (and my two girls, now grown up and moved out) have had many pets, including cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, and birds. Working with the Housesitting Company has given me a wealth of dog sitting experience. I am an extremely house proud person. I own my own home. I am fit and walk and cycle every day. I love the sea, and the beach. I am an honest, trustworthy and tidy person whom would love to be considered to care for your home and your pets. Thank you for taking the time to consider my profile and I hope to meet with you. Regards Michelle

I am a 43yrold, dog loving, very responsible carer of homes. I have had experience with a number of homes and animals, and make sure that the house and animals are top priority. I was a tour guide/driver for 16 years until March 2020, since then I have served my community by working as a 111 emergency operator and more recently have been a driver in the film and television industry. I don't drink and don't have a partner, so no parties or gatherings will happen on my watch. I'm currently looking for house sitting opportunities as this seems to be the time of year people are taking holidays etc. When I'm not house and animal sitting, I stay with a family member in Mt Wellington. I'm flexible with itineraries, great with all animals and quite detail oriented, so your home and beloved pets will be in good hands

Greetings! I am an enthusiastic and dedicated individual with a passion for animals, and I believe that my unique background and genuine love for pets make me an excellent choice as your trusted pet sitter. Growing up on a charming farm in South Africa provided me with invaluable hands-on experience caring for a diverse range of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, turtles, and hamsters. My upbringing instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility and respect for all living creatures. Living on a farm required me to develop a keen understanding of each animal's specific needs, from the playful energy of dogs to the gentle care required by birds and the affectionate attention that cats crave. This diverse exposure has equipped me with a versatile skill set to cater to the unique requirements of different pets. Having always been surrounded by furry, feathery, and scaly companions, my love for animals extends beyond mere care – it's a genuine connection that goes beyond the basics of feeding and walking. I take joy in creating a comfortable and nurturing environment for pets, ensuring their well-being and happiness in every interaction. My approach to pet sitting is characterized by patience, attentiveness, and a genuine desire to make each animal feel loved and secure. In addition to my hands-on experience, I am a highly organized and reliable individual. I understand the importance of maintaining routines, providing timely meals, administering medications if needed, and ensuring that pets feel a sense of familiarity and comfort in their surroundings. I am also adept at recognizing signs of distress or discomfort, allowing me to address any concerns promptly and effectively. As your pet sitter, I am committed to going above and beyond to meet the individual needs of your furry friends. I take pride in creating a bond with each pet under my care, treating them as if they were part of my own family. Whether it's a game of fetch, a cozy cuddle session, or a leisurely stroll, I am dedicated to providing the companionship and care that your pets deserve. Choosing me as your pet sitter means entrusting your beloved animals to someone who understands the importance of their well-being, and I am confident that my genuine love for animals and my practical experience make me the perfect candidate to ensure a positive and nurturing experience for both you and your furry companions.

Hi I have lived in Hamilton, New Zealand all my life and I am married to Nick for 33 years and we have grown up children, a daughter and two sons and I thought it would be fun to housesit as a way to see NZ. Our daughter is married and living in Christchurch and we have one grandchild. I enjoy walking and going to daily gym classes and my husband enjoys long bike rides. We are very active. I managed a house we own as an Airbnb for over two years managing bookings per night so I know what is involved in caring for a home. I have dealt with many different nationalities and many situations that arise from having a home on Airbnb. I ensured our Airbnb house was clean and well presented and that the garden was appealing and well managed. I have always had pets those being cats, dogs, chickens, canaries, goldfish - although we do not presently have a pet as sadly our beautiful 14 year old dog Bosco passed away this year My husband is experienced in managing livestock as he was brought up on a farm. I know how to care for animals giving them time, exercise, fresh water and good food. I am also aware of the signs of when a pet is feeling unwell and when to take to the vet. If I was your house sitter I would update you on your home and your pets with regular photos and messages if you wanted this and . if there were any problems I would consult with you. Thankyou

HI, I love animals and enjoy taking care of them, as I run a small farm with my family I know how important it is to have your animals cared for in their own environment while you are away. I have experience looking after neighbours dogs, cats, horses, sheep as well as on our own farm we have a range of cattle , poultry and sheep. goats and horses. I have a farming back ground and looking after your home and animals while you are away is very appealing way to visit a new area while providing you with the reassurances that your animals are in good safe hands. I like to send updates on how the animals are as it is very reassuring to know they are OK when you are away from them .

I am 25 years old and raised in Auckland central. I am of Danish / Dutch descent. I lived in Wellington for three years where I studied my 1st degree, a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Cultural Anthropology and Development Studies. I am currently a full-time student in Occupational Therapy. I have an innate love of helping people combined with a huge passion for health and well-being which is why I have decided go back and retrain as an Occupational Therapist. My hobbies include running, playing tennis, hiking, baking / cooking, painting, reading, and drinking copious amount of tea / coffee on the daily. My reason for house sitting is simple: it is cost effective while I am a student, and this is also an opportunity for me to get outside of comfort zone and try something new. Additionally, I love pets! I grew up with 2 dogs and a cat and cannot imagine my life without them. I am fairly new to the world of house sitting, although I have been a home stay with many families in New Zealand and overseas in the likes of Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, China, Mexico and Canada. Here’s a fun fact for you: when I lived in Vancouver I stayed with over 25 host families. I mention the above experiences because I am very reliable in respecting other people’s spaces. Re caring for pets: I have grown up around dogs and cats and am very comfortable around them and would happily take them for a walk or a run! You can expect that I will look after your house and your pet with love, intentionality and precision to detail. I am reliable in the sense that I will bring my own food and toiletry supplies, and I will make sure to clean up after myself and leave everything in its place. Regarding looking after your pets, I have a flexible schedule as a full-time student which means that I can devote extra time to your pet. Also please be assured that any rules you have set – I will follow to the T. Thank you, I look forward to meeting you and providing you with assistance. Isabella :)

Mature, sensible professional (semi retired) with partner, both with love for animals. Remko (originally from Holland back in 1972) and Caroline (from China). Both non smokers, enjoy clean living with clean criminal international and local records. We met in Malaysia while working as volunteers with cats and dogs for SPCA in early 2015. After that we did a period of volunteers with tigers in Thailand. Highlight of our lives. Great experience to be so close and intimate with a wild animals. Few scars but lived to tell all the tales. After we worked with them, cats and dogs are so easy. Next, hoping to spend some time with elephants. We have done home sitting in NZ as well as offshore in Europe and China as well as a 4 week stay in Malaysia. Although we like to travel, live clean and appreciate clean houses so your home will be looked after. Although not fantastic green fingers, we will happily mow your grass and pull a few weeds as required. As we both still work part time, appreciate wi-fi so we can still receive emails etc. Sky is not important cause we rather be outside enjoying open air as against watching TV. Also since 2017, a volunteer firefighter originally with Otorohanga but would consider helping any local volunteer brigade. Rem has in the past also looked after NZ Police dogs while their handler has gone on holiday so the average dog should be relatively easy. Happy to walk the dogs and where possible, take them to the beach if possible. Hopefully have secure parking for the BMW as well? Since Feb 2017 we have lived in Otorohanga and have looked after various local and surrounding properties. A 550 acre grazing farm and a very upmarket lifestyle house. Although it’s been fun here, we are ready for another area from now on. Long term housesits preferred but will consider short options as well. Yuling now lives in Wellington full time while Rem commutes.

Hi My name is Susan. I am an Aucklander and I love to travel when I can. I grew up always having cats and dogs as part of the family. When I was married and we bought our first house, having pets was a top priority. After 3 years we had 3 cats (Tabby, Tina and Kate) and 2 Beagles (Tony and Lucy). I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. I no longer have pets of my own so I would really love the opportunity to care for yours, either outside of Auckland when I ready for a break or in Auckland for a 'staycation' I am mature, responsible, respectful and resourceful. My house sitting to-date has been through word of mouth or through Housesitters.co.nz and I haven't met an animal yet that I haven't got on with and enjoyed. Please check my references and feel free to contact my referees. I would love to meet you and your pets and have the opportunity to care for them and your home. Thanks Susan

I am a budding writer (at this stage for pleasure), travelling around the country gathering inspiration for stories, house and pet sitting is a perfect fit to help me to continue writing. My preference is for house sits that are of longer duration, and will consider other opportunities as well. As a previous home and pet owner, I know how important it is to have a home looked lived in and pets well cared for. My green thumb is not too bad either. I am happy to say "Hi" to your neighbours if you are friendly with them so they are happy with a new person in their neighbourhood as well. I have experience with cats and dogs, chickens the odd fish and one snail... I am very happy to have a pet curled up on my lap - if they want to! I will be writing from home, so there most of the day to keep pets company and well loved. I am an easy going, friendly person who is clean and tidy and appreciates a clean and tidy home to sit. I am security conscious and happy to water your plants as well. I look forward to meeting with you via Skype, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger Video Calling (or if you Zoom, send me a link) to chat further. Current dates available for 2023: 7th November to 22nd December Warmest, Tracey

Hello, my name is Nelly and my partner’s name is Mario, we are a young couple with 3 years of relationship and together we´ve been traveling around all Mexico and at this moment we are in New Zealand knowing their culture. The reason why we are interested in being a housesitting, is because it’s a great opportunity for us to keep knowing new places, traveling and at the same time make a exchange for our services and have the responsibility for taking care of a house impeccable as if it were our own home, and also have the time to continue developing our online projects and saving some money in our expenses during the tine we are in NZ. Mario has the experience as a housesitting, for 2 years he was in charge of the administration care and cleanness (cleanness made by himself) of one in Merida Yucatan, Mexico, that has 5 rooms and at that time the rooms were rented for students. As a couple we had have the experience of renting a house and a department which we always kept impeccable and with the best care possible. We both consider ourselves as animal lovers, We had the responsibility of taking care of several dogs belonging to family and friends for a few weeks, due to the trust they have in us for the good care we give them, likewise, we have rescued a dog in the jungle of Riviera Maya, Mexico, who has a disability in one of her legs. We provide her a home and care, her name is Mochis and she is now on the care of Mario Parents, she is a very educated dog, we miss her a lot. You can expect from us complete responsibility and love for your home and your animals as if they were our own, considering and respecting 100% the tasks that will be assigned to us.

Hi I am a 35 year old female professional currently working in Christchurch as a civil engineer. I am going on a sabbatical for January and February as I would like to take a break from everyday life and would like to travel around New Zealand. I absolutely love animals and my dream is to one day own a play farm. I had cats and dogs growing up and I am fully aware of the responsibilities of taking care of a pet. I get lots of energy and happiness from spending time with animals and therefore your pets will be very well looked after.

Hi, we're Eóin & Ale, and mad excited to be your potential housesitters! We're all about pets and adventures, and we can't wait to offer our house-sitting services to take care of your home and furry pals while you're off doing your thing! We both have flexible jobs so we can work from home when required, so all your pets will be kept company everyday while we work from home! We’ve house sat many many times before, our longest was 3 months with an energetic Cocker Spaniel called Harry - it was hard to say goodbye! We take care of our friends' cats and dogs whenever we can during the week and weekends. We are very open, honest, and authentic people! You can count on us being responsible and reliable house sitters. Your home will be safe, tidy, and loved, and your pets will get all the hugs, playtime and adventures. We take pride in keeping a tidy living space, so your place will be treated like it is our own. Originally, Eoin’s from Ireland, and Ale’s from Colombia.. we've been NZ Residents for many years now. We’re experienced pet-sitters although relatively new to the House Sitting Company's website. We both grew up with animals at home (ranging from cats, dogs, chickens, snakes, goats, hamsters, rabbits, reptiles.. to livestock) and are both huge animal lovers. Ale’s Dad is a vet, so she was always surrounded by all sorts of animals. We both absolutely love surrounding ourselves with the company of animals, it really makes us happy! House sitting lets us experience different locations, staying in, getting out for daily walks/plays, and most importanly getting a readymade/adopted “family life” with lovely animals. We'd love to meet you and your pets to chat more about your housesitting needs. Thanks for considering us as your housesitters. We're excited to meet you and your lovely pets! Cheers, Eóin & Ale

Retired, non smoker, healthy, vaccinated (3). Hi, I’m Dorothy, 68. I am retired during the 30th year in last job. I live in the Hauraki area (Paeroa) and I like walking, gardening, food, being with friends and family, having pets as good company and am a champion for SPCA and WAP as animals need our help as well. I was raised on a dairy farm, lots of animals and pets while growing up and I live on a dairy farm at the moment, have been house sitting for my ex-colleagues as well for the last couple of years. This included cats, dogs, sheep, cattle, chooks and an eel (enjoyed that). They have rebooked me again and again and I am happy to help them. One of the house sits was in the hills, very private and tranquil which I enjoyed the peace and serenity there. I have also done for H/S sits in Tauranga, Papamoa and Wellington, their references are attached. Lately I have been helping out friends/family with sitting for their friends in different parts of NZ. It would be a pleasure to look after your home and/or pets. I would be happy to send photos/updates while you are away (e-mail or text only, not involved with social media sorry), so you can relax knowing they are being loved and cared for. It was a joke at ex-work that I liked things tidy and clean. Please check my references (refs recently have been verbal only, all nice to hear though) and happy for you to contact them if you wish to check how it went. Bye for now. Dorothy

Hi our names are Maryna and Neil, We are close to retiring and feel it is our time to discover the rest of the South Island in New Zealand and while doing that, do what we enjoy and that is looking after peoples pets and a little gardening while we at it. We immigrated here 11 years ago and have been living in the Catlins ever since so love to explore . As we do not have animals of our own (not by choice) this will also give us a great opportunity to enjoy other people's pets while we are on breaks. We are reliable and trustworthy and are managing a holiday park in the Catlins. This is a 24/7 entity and being in hospitality means we know what is expected from cleanliness and client communication. Neil is a handyman and extremely keen garderner so finds himself very busy most of the time. We both are pet lovers and with previous housesitting experience in London, South Africa and in the Catlins, we have done a lot of dog walking, cuddling cats and even looked after pigs, horses and chickens. We both love fishing and used to take our doggies with us (back in South Africa) so they could have a good run around, and when given the chance they would steal some of our catch! It would be our privilege to help home owners out by looking after their homes and taking care of their pets ( with lots of love) putting their minds at ease. We love to update owners at any time as to how things are going back home. Please feel free to contact our referees and ask any further questions you may want answered.

Kia Ora, We are Michelle and Pascal from Germany. Currently we are traveling around NewZealand and we’re always looking for new experiences. On our way to find accommodation we found this app and thought it would be a great opportunity for us. We both love animals and would love to take care of your home and pets. I’m Michelle and I would describe myself as a happy person that is patient, active, loves animals and pays attention to detail. I’m Pascal and I would describe myself as an active person that likes to be outside. I’m responsible and I’m an animal lover. Me and my brother Pascal have a dog in Germany and we also had bunnies over the years. Our dog is a labrador and very active. We always play with her and take her on long walks. We know how to take care over cats as well. We took care over my friends cats when they went on vacation. Michelle also took care of her hostfamilies cat during her exchange year in the USA. We already have experience with housesitting in NewZealand. We had an housesit in Christchurch and we both loved it. We took care of an spaniel cocker and a lovely cat. We are confident that we have the skills and experience necessary to provide excellent care for your home and pets. If the homeowner chooses us as sitters they can expect kind, responsible and reliable people which are excited about the opportunity to care for your home and pets while you are away. We are available for full-time work. We are comfortable caring for pets of all sizes and we are comfortable caring for homes of all sizes. We are looking foward to be your pets sitters. Cheers, Michelle and Pascal

We consider ourselves active "young at heart" retirees and because we love all animals we have chosen to become house sitters. We have had the pleasure of other sitters minding our home and would consider it a privilege to take care of someone else's home and beloved pets. My old cat required a daily diabetes injection and regular blood sugar tests so I am happy to carry out this if required. I love gardening so am happy to do any required. We will care for the owner's home as we would our own. My previous husband was a farmer and so I had many years of caring for a variety of animals, eg lambs, calves, horses, pigs etc. Peter and I will be very happy to be in a country area and care for the family's animals as needed.

Kia Ora, My name is Marama Mitchell and my Partner is Jack Baigent. We have two children Tui is 7 years old and Kahu is 6 years old. I am a physiotherapist and Jack is a web designer and videographer. We all live in Tawa, Wellington. Jack, myself and the kids all love the outdoors, going for walks, parks and the beach. We enjoy exercising and enjoy walking so walking a dog(s) would not feel like a chore but would be welcomed company. Jack and I are responsible and reliable individuals who are excited about the opportunity to care for your home and pets while you are away. Jack and I have grown up with family cats and dogs and know how they are important members of the family. We have also looked after a variety of animals at Tui's Montessori pre-school. We don't have room for animals at our house but would love the children to experience what that would be like by caring for your pets. During our time living and studying in Auckland we used to house sit for a family friend who lived in Herne Bay. This included which looking after their dog Cappuccino. We loved it! We lived in a small apartment in the city, so it felt like such a treat staying in a Herne Bay house with a pool. We have never forgotten how special it was to look after someones home and pet and get the opportunity to explore a new area of Auckland. We would love to be able to share similar experiences with our children. I am confident that Jack and I can provide an excellent service. We are reliable, responsible and friendly. We will treat your home and pets as if they were our own. We are comfortable caring for pets of all sizes and comfortable caring for homes of all sizes. I look forward to hearing from you! Kind regards, Marama Mitchell

I am 30 years old, with a low work load this year, so I have decided to explore NZ a bit via house sitting, starting with my home, Auckland! This will be my first house sitting experiences, however I have been a Property Manager for 2 years for Holiday Homes all over Auckland and Leigh. I owned a beautiful golden Labrador, Bella, for 14 years until she sadly passed away in 2020, I was her main carer after I moved out of home. I also grew up with cats always being in my family home. Alike my clients who have me manage their properties, I would be grateful to be chosen to look after yours! I have vast knowledge around taking good care of a property. And your animals would be very loved, with a lot of company. I deeply miss having a walking and sleeping buddy!

We are a professional couple, married for twenty eight years and have four independant sons in their twenties. We have put our property on Air B&B in order to save money to pursue our interests. We are also looking forward to exploring different places and spending time with a wonderful variety of pets. We have house sat for friends and family before and thoroughly enjoyed it. As you can imagine with four sons, we have previously owned many different pets including dogs, cats, fish, bunnies, birds and horses. We will go the extra mile to ensure that your pets are looked after and your property is kept tidy and in top notch shape.

Hello there, My name is Donna and I'm a 60 year old mother of three children. I grew up in the Hutt Valley and have spent most of my life in the Wellington/Wairarapa area. For the past 10 years, I've been a healthcare assistance at a number of retirement villages in the Wellington region. While not working, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, going for bush walks and reading a good novel. I've previously done the odd house sit for friends and family, however with my children having all now left home and coming up to retirement, I'm keen to look at housesitting more frequently. I love animals and our family has all grown up with both cats and dogs. Since a young age, we owned family dogs with the first being Budda who was a Lab x Dobberman and the most recent being Bella who was a Border Collie x Irish Settler. I understand it can be stressful for pet/house owners when they go away to not have someone watching over their homes or keeping their pets company. I get a real buzz out of helping people and providing reassurance that when they go away, they're pets/house will be in good hands. I'm aware that all pets have their own individual needs and am respectful and accepting of these. I consider myself to be a reliable, responsible and trustworthy person. I can't wait to look after your pets and house and look after them as if they were my own. Chat soon. Donna

I am a well organised & respectful person & very reliable/trusting after 31 years in the international banking & finance industry & private consultancy space. I am now working on a NZ Government (MFAT) international aid & development programme since November 2020 that covers 12 countries across the Pacific. I lived & travelled overseas for almost 20 years & returned to NZ in mid 2020 during the midst of Covid & am now double vaccinated & double boosted as well. I have the utmost integrity while maintaining a solid moral compass & set of values. I am also an avid & long-term part time student & I am in the throes of completing my PhD qualification by 2024. I/we are interested in house sitting because I love travel & visiting new places after having travelled & worked overseas in many countries since the mid 1990s. I have house sat for many personal friends & work colleagues in the past including pet minding including a few housesitting assignments with the Housesitting Company now under my belt ranging from 10 days up to 6 weeks (which I am undertaking as I write this). The range of animals is also extensive & has included dogs, cats, goats & even kuni kuni pigs while I have also been charged with administering medicine. I come from a rural & farming background & so I am very comfortable & accustomed to being around animals of all shapes & sizes & descriptions. My hobbies include study, travel, health & fitness, fishing, diving, hunting & most outdoor & water activities. You can rest assured that any required tasks of me during a house sit will be fully complied with including pet minding & that your property will be in exactly the same pristine condition as you left it with all agreed rules respected. My partner, Evangeline, flies in & out from/to overseas as she is working offshore & so there may be the odd occasion when she will accompany me on a house sit if she is NZ at the time but I will advise you should this be the case.

As a previous home owner I understand how important it is to care after a home. Furnishing a home can be costly so I always make sure when house sitting that I'm always cautious of peoples belongings. There's nothing worse than a carpet stain!! But I make sure this sort of thing never happens. I'm a single 40 year old business owner and before getting back into the property market I've decided to do housesitting for the rest of the year. I've looked after both cats and dogs in the past. I am very tidy and respectful and love animals! Open to any questions you may have about me! Look forward to hearing from you.

Together with my girlfriend we consider ourselves animal lovers, we love living with pets. We think they give life and joy to a home. We used to live with cats in our house in Colombia (we really miss them) and I had a dog named Luna. Now we want to live the experience of living with a furry friend again but we don't have the possibility of having a pet in the apartments we have lived in. We would like to have the possibility of taking care of your pet and your plants too, during the time you will be on vacation. Our experience caring for animals is with our cats in Colombia, 2 playful little 4-years old and my dog who I had since she was a puppy. If you choose us as caregivers for your pets and your home, you will have a responsible, respectful partner willing to meet the needs that you specify in your home. Once again we confirm that we would love to take care of your pets and spent our time being with them.

Hello My name is Andrea I have been house/pet sitting for over seven years with a two year break for the covid travel restrictions. Most of my clients to date have been in the wider Auckland area. Most houses have had cats and/or dogs, a few fish and chickens and some no pets at all. All have their own special characters! I am pleased to say that most have been referrals and repeat clients. Professionally I was a banker for 30 years in the Waikato and Auckland then moved into the book industry ten years ago. I worked in a Ponsonby bookshop for several years and then for a book distribution business. I am now working independently from home. I love to read, obviously. I am a keen embroiderer very involved in several groups at local and national level. I am pragmatic and careful by nature, security and privacy conscious. My goal is to preserve your pets routine and to ensure you can travel with no concerns about what is happening at home. Over the years I have grown very fond of some of my regular four-legged clients and enjoyed vicariously the travels of the two-legged ones.

My children and I lived on a 10 acre block in Waimauku for several years and cared for a variety of animals including cats, dogs, hens, sheep, cows, and the occasional rabbit and duck! Because of Geoff's years spent at sea his opportunities to care for pets have been limited, but in his younger years his family owned cats, dogs and budgies. Geoff and I spend the summer months,October through to April, in New Zealand, which is when we are available for house sitting. We have a yacht berthed in Penang, Malaysia, and we are there during New Zealand's winter months. Geoff has spent nearly 13 years cruising in South East Asia, and I joined him in 2012. Geoff is a shipwright and is capable of servicing a wide range of appliances, machinery etc.He served in the New Zealand navy for 8 years and after leaving he worked as a commercial diver whilst building his first yacht. After sailing for many years in the Pacific, Australia, Africa and Europe, he settled in Brisbane, where he set up his shipwright business. He then built his second yacht and set sail for South East Asia. My previous working life involved a variety of positions, including working as a supervisor in a childcare centre in Waimauku, Auckland, and then as a sterile services technician at North Shore hospital in Auckland. I have two sons who live in the Netherlands and Belgium, and 1 grandson. Because of our lifestyle on the yacht we are organised and tidy in our habits. We enjoy exploring new environments, so house sitting promises to be a great way to meet new people, have some much-needed interaction with animals again, and reunite us with different parts of our country after being away for so many years. Although we are away from New Zealand at times, we are always able to participate in video calls via either Skype or What's App.

I recently retired after 30 years owning and operating a successful film company in Auckland. I specialised in filming pet food TV commercials where I developed a knack for patience and perseverance to relax animals in order to get those magic natural shots that pet owners love. I worked closely with Mark Vette and Flip Calkoen over many years to develop this special relationship. Everyone's pets are different and require careful handling, especially when their owners are away for a week or two. I try to create a seamless transition to avoid any unnecessary disruption to their routine. I have owned quite a few interesting dogs over the years including a cocker spaniel, a doberman, blue healer and a border collie black lab x, plus several lovely cats. I am a 70 year old single male with 3 adult children and 5 grand children. I lead a fit and healthy lifestyle. I have always had a cat and dog as I believe they add something unique to our lives - especially with a young family. I am also very 'house proud' and a home handyman which comes in handy when little things go wrong. As you leave your home is how you will find it when you return. I have recently house sat for a number of people with pets and loved it. I believe that trust is paramount when you are caring for someone's home and pets. When I take on this responsibility I do so with total commitment. Plus I have always had a very caring nature when it comes to animals which puts them at ease. I have a large station wagon perfect for transporting wet dogs to and from their favourite beach or park. My home is now in the Hawke's Bay where I have property investments, but I travel up to Auckland most months to visit my family, so house sitting in Auckland gives me the opportunity to be closer to them for longer periods. Prior to this I lived at Piha for many years and was very involved in many local community projects, including 'The Water Board' & 'Barnett Hall'. I'm currently working on writing and publishing my second book so house sitting provides me with the opportunity to work on this in my down time. Having someone on hand 24/7 at your home allows you to totally relax while you're away. I encourage you to call my referees direct to discuss what they thought. I'm only a phone call away if you'd like to have a chat, or FaceTime me if you'd prefer to talk face to face. Look forward to meeting you - Kind Regards ; Simon Moore

Hi! My partner Alev and I are on the journey of saving for our first home together. House sitting is a great option for us as we both love variety and spending time with animals. We consider it an honor to be given the custodial responsibilities of someone else's home and pets. Alev is from Istanbul, the city of cats, so she has a natural affinity and affection for cats and all animals for that matter. I'm the favorite of my family's pets Badger and Poppy ( a tempestuous but gorgeous rescue cat and a mischievous but, ever-faithful Sweedish Vallhund) I am an artist and I also work as a handyman. Alev is an architect working for a company in the city. We love nature and gardening and planting our own fruit and vegetables. We are both clean and tidy and have an appreciation for the space we live in. We will make sure that your house is well looked after. We have been house sitting for a while now and, we are thrilled by the experience of meeting different animals each time. Each animal is a new friend for us and we are enjoying getting to know their individual characters. Looking forward to meeting you and your lovely pets :)!

Hello my name is Dave! I am a very healthy and fit retired builder/joiner. For 30 years I ran my own building and joinery company. I have been living in Australia and have recently returned as the heat was too much for me! My lovely wife passed away a few years ago after 47 years of marriage. As I am on my own I feel housesitting would be a wonderful way for me to meet new people and see a little bit of New Zealand. House sitting is such a wonderful win-win for all parties involved and since I have no ties, I am able to have the pleasure of helping homeowners go away, care for their beloved pets and home, whilst being able to explore my own 'back yard'. House sitting will also allow me to decide more of the region of New Zealand I want to purchase a property in, in the future. I am currently living with my twin sister in Paraparaumu and helping her look after her two Jack Russells. I have three sons and four wonderful grandchildren. I have always owned German Shepherds throughout my life as they are my favourite breed and such a great natured dog. I have also owned cats as well. I am a keen gardener and also enjoy fishing and snooker. Thank you for taking the time to consider my profile and I believe that with my experience throughout life, I would be of great help to any homeowner needing care for their pets and home. Warmest, David.

Hi there, My name is Laura, I am originally from Brazil and have been living in New Zealand for almost 8 years now. I am a digital marketer passionate about communicating/connecting with people. I am well-organized and understand the importance of maintaining a clean and tidy living space. I believe that a neat environment contributes to a sense of peace and well-being, both for you and your pet. I'm a responsible and reliable person with a love for animals. I had a few pets when growing up, including a pitbull crossbreed, and she was our best friend and companion at home, so I understand the love and care they require. I have lived in a flat for 4.5 years with an amazing cat called Pango. He was my daily dose of joy, and I loved snuggling with him in bed. Even though we now live in separate houses, I continue to look after him and house-sit for my friends whenever needed. During my time off, you'll find me exercising, enjoying the outdoors, reading, watching some movies or catching up with friends. I value the balance between personal well-being and social connections. I'm here to bring you and your pet a fun and stress-free house-sitting experience. You can count on me to keep your house in order and provide plenty of belly rubs and playtime for your furry companion. I'll make sure your pet feels right at home while you're away and that they receive the same level of love and attention, making sure they feel safe and loved in their familiar surroundings. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything else you'd like to know. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Warm regards, Laura.

Greetings Home and Pet Owners, Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Norman Ronald Mcfadyen. I was born and raised in Northumberland. My father and his ancestors came from the Isle of Mull, my mother’s from Northern Ireland. My accent is hard to place, as I have travelled extensively in my life and have had to learn to modify my accent over the years, to be comprehensible to others. I am a very friendly and gregarious soul, who loves the company of both people and animals. I have worked in mental health for over 30 years; initially, as a psychiatric nurse and later as a mental health clinician and therapist. I have also worked in performing arts for nearly as long, as a professional actor mainly. These days, I combine my love of theatre and education to teach others some successful strategies, to navigate the bumpy paths of life. I do a little bit of homeschool teaching and I am an instructor at the New Zealand Stage and Screen combat school in Birkenhead. I came back home to New Zealand in March 2020, after having lived back in the UK for a couple of years, looking after my father. I came back to Auckland for my son’s wedding and found myself marooned due to the Covid lockdown. My father died shortly after I arrived and therefore I have no need to go back in the UK. My life and living is very flexible as a single man of 54 years of age. I enjoy playing my ukulele and singing every day and have a successful Christmas business, portraying Father Christmas himself. I have had pets all my life, both cats and dogs, when living in my own property. Since being marooned here in 2020, I have missed them dearly. I am not in a position to have my own pets, due to uncertainty going forward. I would be more than delighted to spend my time with your loved ones in the meantime. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future. Kind Regards, Norman

We are a couple in our late twenties and have been together for four years. We love to travel and have travelled throughout the world together for the last 4 years. We have recently immigrated from Ireland to New Zealand on a working holiday visa. Back home Éireann was a early years teaching assistant in a bilingual preschool and day-care and Ryan managed a UK bakery/café chain. We are currently unemployed which leaves us with complete free-time and flexibility. When we lived in Ireland we house and pet sat for family and friends in between our travels which had dogs and cats for short and long periods of time. We both have a love for animals from growing up our whole lives in house holds filled with mostly dogs and cats. We enjoy the outdoors and nature while going for long walks which is why we choose New Zealand to settle for a while. We both have a strong passion for the welfare of animals including their emotional state and well being as well as ensuring their home is well kept and hygienic. We can ensure we will keep their standards of living to your standards.

Hi, my name is Morgan. I am a friendly, gentle and caring individual who enjoys business/ property investing, reading and coffee. I am a property manager who enjoys houses and caring for them. I would love a change of scenery and to help fund my new start up business where I can save on rent. I often house sit my mums place when I check on a couple properties I manage in Christchurch and thoroughly enjoy it (I reside in Auckland). I adore animals and caring for them especially being outdoors. In the past I have had a cat and my mum has a dog so having pets around is very comfortable for me. I like to keep the property immaculate and to ensure all tasks are completed and animals are happy. I enjoy living an active, clean and positive way of life and would love to be your next house sitter. Look forward to connecting soon.

Life is one big adventure! I like to be kept busy; I love to travel, discovering out of the way places, meeting new people & embracing life. But my family pets have always been a top priority. House sitting offers some exciting opportunities, but more specifically it will provide me with the pleasures of 'adopting' your family pets, if only for a short time. (And, I certainly miss not having my own pet to care for). There has always been a cat or dog (or both) in the house and then there have been the children's tropical fish, German rat, guinea pigs, rabbits, and birds! We've even had a couple of cats 'adopt' us! I also volunteered for 18 months at a bird rescue centre a few years ago which was a very rewarding experience. From a young age until her early 20s, I also used to spend a lot of time at my aunt & uncles farm where they had a dairy herd, goats and a chicken run. Animals have always featured in my life. I have been fortunate to have had some wonderful House & pet sitting opportunities over the past 3 years (with a global house sitting company) looking after dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and birds - most of these sits were while I was based in the UK. I'm now cutting back on my time away from NZ and, after hearing very positive comments about The Housesitting Company, have decided to join so that I can focus more on NZ sits. I'd be delighted to look after and love your family pets and I will take excellent care of your home. It's a responsibility that I take seriously and I hope you might consider me to look after your precious fur babies and your home while you are away.

Good day! My name is Bonnie. I'm a beauty salon owner in Auckland and mostly only manage the business remotely now. I have the time and flexibility to be anywhere in Auckland or outskirt cities around Auckland and has a lot of free time. I want to have more flexibility of my location to explore more around North Island, and also have some companion of animals as I love them! I have looked after friends places when they're away before and have always been a responsible tenant and flatmate for all the houses I've lived in. I've grown up with 2 cats and a dog. I love all animals and am very patient with them. I'm a huge fan of Cesar Millan and his training methods and dog psychology. I like to hold calm confident energy around pets and make them feel safe with me then to build trust from there. I'm tidy and love to keep my living space clean - it gives me mental clarity. I'm a responsible person as the nature of being a business owner of 7 years managing a team. I live a healthy and sober lifestyle. I spend a lot of my time doing yoga, hiking and time by the beach. I would take great care of your property and walk the dogs in nature nearby and give cats a lot of affection. I'm experience with raw diet for dogs and cats as well. I'm looking forward to meeting you and your pet(s)! :)

We live in a motorhome and have housesat at a few homes which has been very successful. John has bred and shown dogs for 9 years and I grew up and had cats over many years. We have had positive feedback from homeowners as we have kept gardens tidy and get satisfaction from leaving a home cleaner than when we arrived. We keep good health and love exploring new areas.I am known to walk for many miles and we have our own bikes. We have only ever had dogs and cats but wouldn't be averse to looking after something different.

Hello, we are a middle aged, tidy and responsible professional couple (teachers). We look forward to house sitting during our NZ wide travel plans from December through to April 2024, after 3 years away working. We love animals and between us have a wide range of pet care experience. We are non-drinkers and non-smokers and will endeavor to take the best care of any house, property and pets we are charged with. Both of us have cared for a range of pets throughout our lives including cats, dogs, turtles and fish and more and we will care for your home and pets as if they are our own for the duration of a sit. We like to walk and explore our natural surroundings, listen to and play/ sing music, plants and gardening and cooking great food. We enjoy our own company and like to relax and converse and believe we'd make great conscientious and trustworthy house-sitters . Thanks and kind regards, Brent & Ajeng

We have lived in Auckland for 34 years, before moving back to the UK last year. We will spend our time living equally between Auckland and England going forward as we have daughters in both countries. We have looked after friends properties and their dogs in England previously and we have had pets all of our life. My Wife, Tina has worked at a veterinary clinic recently in England. I grew up with dogs as my parents bred Chihuahuas. Our dog, Lulu sadly passed away a few months ago (she travelled back to the UK with us from NZ) We are both in our early 60's, plan to spend our time in Auckland when back in NZ. We are very clean and tidy, and your property will be fastidiously cleaned while we are in residence. We are very good with animals and they'll be well cared for. We are looking for house sitting positions from September 2023 going forward.

Kia ora! I am Zisa. I am a decent professional, in my mid-40s, a registered teacher and guidance counselor in the Philippines. I was an international school teacher between 2000-2008 (Thailand, China and Indonesia). I am a sociable person but mostly I enjoy quiet and solitude. I am a registered secondary teacher here in New Zealand. I have completed my Teacher Education Refresh programme with the University of Auckland Epsom campus. I finished my pre-service teacher training at Macleans College last May 2023. Currently, I am a full time Food Nutrition & Technoology teacher at Macleans College. My son is a Year 1 student at Cockle Bay School. When I was a teacher in Beijing, friends asked me to house sit and care for their pets and I was happy with the experience. In the Philippines, I have Australian friends who asked me to house sit for them also. I am confident to say that I will look after your home as my own and consider you as a family member who went on a vacation. Growing up in the farm, we have a lot of pets and domestic animals - cats, dogs, chickens, cows, ducks, fish, goats, geese, turkeys, horse. When I was in my teens, my dad thought that the best way to teach me about responsibility was by letting me take care of birds - love birds and other breeds. During my late 20s up to now that I have my own family, I have become a human to cats. I wanted to have dog/s also but my husband thinks we cannot provide the ideal home for dogs. During the pandemic, we got some guppy fish for our garden. It just feels warm and homey when you have pets. My family would be happy to house/pet sit for you!

We are a family of 4+1 - Mum, Dad, 2x daughters aged 16 and18 years (our 18 yo will most likely not join us). We would like to have a holiday with the comforts of home including a pet to come home to. We have a Mini Schnauzer named Ollie who is 3 years old. We walk him daily on the beach or park and socialise him with other dogs as much as possible. My sister also has a Mini Schnauzer x Lowchen so they would dogsit for us while we are away. We love dogs and cats and would treat them like we do our own. Chris was brought up with cats and his family and a few friends own cats which we have fed and looked after while they have been away over the years. If you choose us as a sitter you can be sure we will take good care of your pets and your house/garden like it is our own.

I am a clean, tidy, honest, mature and respectful person. I don't smoke or drink. I was born in Auckland and enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and going on walks. I work full time as a nanny (in their home). I have looked after friend's homes and pets in previous years - so have had experience doing this - as well as house and pet sitting through this website and others. As a child, between myself and my siblings, we had (for varying lengths of time) - a turtle, guinea pigs, dwarf rabbits, and cats. At my place of work there have been budgies and dogs. If you need someone to look after your property (including plants and pets), while you are away, and know that you will return to a clean and tidy home, then please contact me.

I am a young at heart, mature and responsible travel loving adventurer. I love animals and have had a variety of pets including dogs, cats, fish and birds including chickens, so I understand how hard it can be when you have to leave them with strangers. I used to regularly look after a landlady's pets including a Shitzu, 3 cats, a parrot, a cockatiel and a canary, and I used to run my own cleaning business, so you will come back to a house at least as clean as I found it. My background is in nursing so I am used to administering medication, including insulin, to people and would be willing to learn to administer it to pets if required. In my current business as a freelance Proofreader and Editor and Life Coach, all I need is a WiFi connection and I can work from anywhere, which means that your pets will be seeing a lot of me, so more cuddles and exercise for everyone, and more security for your home and for your peace of mind. Previously I worked for nursing and care agencies which involved working in residential homes caring for people, frequently in new environments, so I am used to being able to quickly assess my surroundings and situations and deal with the unexpected when necessary. Every job I have had has required a police check due to the nature of my profession so rest assured that I am responsible and trustworthy. I retired and was also widowed in 2020, and have recently relocated from Christchurch to Auckland to be closer to family, so I have plenty of spare time on my hands and am available at fairly short notice. I look forward to meeting you and caring for your home and pets. Regards Jan Given

Hi! My name is Annabelle. I am a single young-professional in Auckland on a remote-working-holiday. i.e. I work from home on my laptop whilst pet-sitting ^ ^ I choose to do pet-sitting because I really love animals, I like having the peace of living "alone" and this allows me to do have both without having to pay any rent! I have plenty of prior experience of pet-sitting cats, poultry, tortoises and fish, and back in the UK I foster dogs regularly for the charity Dogs Trust. I have attended several of their training days focussed around proper care for dogs, and dealing with reactive dogs. Through my work with the charity, I have looked after dogs of all sizes and needs, from 6-week-old Pug puppies to geriatric Great Danes. Beyond just feeding and exercising them, I have experience dealing with medical needs such as changing dressings. I am friendly and pretty nerdy and will treat your pet with love and your house with the same respect I would treat my own (probably a bit better tbh). My hobbies include walking and enjoy relaxing with a good book. If you want to learn a little more about me from an outside source, you can read an article in Stuff here: https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/small-business/121442984/coronavirus-from-a-brain-injury-to-helping-fight-covid19-by-3d-printing-ppe I'm currently in Auckland 3 months (January - end of March this year, 2024) and am currently booked until the end of January. If you are looking for an experienced and trustworthy person to stay at your home and care for your pets in the months of February and March, please get in contact. Thank you for your time! Annabelle

Hey hi hello! We are an easy-going kiwi couple who are coming up 6 years together, currently renting in Point Chevalier, Auckland. We have lived in New Zealand most of our lives in Taranaki, Tauranga, Wellington and now call Auckland home. Libby works in communications for a couple of non-profit organisations including Endometriosis New Zealand. Gabriel is a qualified Electrician managing some major sites across the city. We fell in to house sitting years ago for friends, colleagues or friends of friends and family and have since become regular sittrtd as we think it provides us with a unique opportunity to explore different neighborhoods and ultimately decide where we want to put down our roots when we buy our home. We understand the importance of trust when it comes to letting someone into your personal space. We treat every home as if it were our own, maintaining a clean and organised space - reflecting our own house proud natures. Gabriel is a handy-man and will be happy to use his skills to ensure everything is maintained while we stay whether that's being a plant dad or tending to any house needs. We are therefore comfortable with bigger properties despite it just being the two of us staying. We are always happy to bring our own linen/towels as we know the last thing you’ll feel like is extra washing after your holiday. Both of us share a deep love for animals and have struggled not to dive in to adopting pets while we are still renting (really struggled haha!). In saying this, we have a lifetime of experience having grown up with beautiful dogs and cuddly cats, and looked after the occasional feathered or finned friend too. We will give them all the love they want or just co-exist with them if they're more independent! Libby works from home for majority of the week, with a few meetings across the city so can be readily available for attention. We are big walkers and adventurers so would include our new friends in that too! We take pride in our reliability and communication skills, keeping you updated with regular check-ins and photos to ease any concerns while you're away. Choosing us as your house sitters means choosing a friendly, caring and responsible couple who genuinely enjoys the company of pets and a peaceful lifestyle. Let us take the worry out of your travels, knowing that your home and furry friends are in capable and loving hands. Get in touch if you think we could help! :)

Steve and I have been married for almost 42 years and are semi-retired parents and grandparents. We are young at heart and enjoy spending time with our family, grandchildren, and friends. Steve is a part time IT contractor and often works from home. I also work part time, as a self employed private house cleaner. Working part time gives us both the freedom to enjoy not only our hobbies and interests but the grandchildren as well - we often pick them up from school and spend time together. Steve & I both have several different hobbies and interests that we enjoy when we have the chance. I enjoy reading, listening to music, knitting, English paper piecing, hand quilting, and cardmaking. Steve has a great interest in NZ Railway History, railway modelling, listening to music, and gardening. We both enjoy an active lifestyle - anything that involves walking - as well as visiting local garage sales and markets. We have housesat for family and cared for their pets, and we have had cats & birds almost all of our married life. We have been dog sitting our grandchildrens’ wee dog on several occasions over the last 2 years. As a homeowner you can expect us to totally respect and care for your home and property and as a private housecleaner and a self confessed perfectionist you would be coming home to a clean and tidy house at the end of your time away.

Hi .. My name is Jude.. I am a 60 year old Women, Company Director and mobile travelling sales person, selling educational resources to schools throughout NZ. I have been working in a travelling sales role all around NZ for more than 30 years... working, travelling and usually staying in motels or my time share accommodation, which tends to be a little expensive over the year. I have flexibility and can work any in area. I am normally at work daily for around 5-6 hours and home mid afternoon to do paper work etc. feed, walk animals, and prepare dinner. I own 2 houses and at present have them both rented with tenants and flatmates. So I understand the privilege of owning a house and totally respect other peoples property and their belongings. I have done a lot of housing sitting over the years and have cared for and feed many animals. Auckland for 3 months looking after dogs and cats. Farm animals or feeding chickens, which is no problem as I am a country girl at heart. I have had looked after 3 large dogs. One that required monitored medication daily and exercise. I have also had to feed unwell cats medicine etc and have no problem caring for your pets no matter what there needs. I enjoy the company of animals especially since I am away from home so much. I love all animals and especially their little characters. Whilst I am at home during the summer months, I used to host overseas students that come to NZ to learn English. I have had many students over the years, Swiss, Thai, Arabian, Japanese, Chiian, Brazilian. They all love staying with me as i spend time with them and share our beautiful country with them often taking them somewhere for day trips etc. Homeowners can be assured that I will treat their home and their pets as they would themselves with upmost care and respect enabling them to have a stress free time away from home and to enjoy your holiday with no concerns. I am honest and reliable. It would be my pleasure to housesit for you. Thanks J

Hi, we are Tracey & Mick - both self employed work from home professionals. Tracey is a weight loss consultant & Mick an IT consultant. We are parents of 4 adult children & are a blended family. We have no pets at present and decided not to, to allow us to travel more easily. Previously we had 9 chickens - our 'other children'. We love animals and have had experience with our own cats (5), rabbit, guinea pigs, chickens and a Labrador dog (Abby). We even got to look after Sea Monkeys for one of our boys. One of our boys has Purebred American Bulldogs & we love visiting & playing with them. In the recent Auckland floods (for the 2nd time) close friends of ours bought their 6 chickens to us, to care for, until they were able to live in their home again - the first time we had them for over 6 months and more recently 3 months. Their 'babies' were well loved & looked after. Mick is a keen diver and loves to get out in the garden, Tracey used to be a professional cleaner so keeping a home sparkling clean is my thing - I also love mowing lawns. We both love to walk and do lengthier hikes & can be found in the mornings trying to beat each other at Wordle & Quordle. We are both people who take pride and care not only in our home (including the grounds) but any home we visit or stay in. We absolutely both respect your home is your castle, that your pets are your joy and we want you to go away knowing we will love your animals and care for them & your house (and grounds if required) so you can just relax. We both have the ability to work anywhere with a good internet connection. Depending on which one of us is working we will always have plenty of time to love, pet, cuddle, brush or walk your pet(s).

Hi there, My name is Nancy and I am a clean living and retired lady. I have 2 daughters who are both married with children (3 Grandchildren) and I have had my own businesses in Takapuna, Auckland, selling antiques and old jewellery. I retired from this in 2009. I also owned and managed a Motor Inn in Brisbane, Australia. I have owned and managed my own houses most of my life and I have always had a cat (unfortunately had to have my most recent pussy cat put down last year at a ripe old age of 15years. His name was William and he was an Ocicat). I am extremely responsible, love animals and any homeowner could expect their pets to be loved and cherished just as if they were my own and your property well maintained, kept secure and clean and tidy. I keep very fit and active and enjoy walking, so if you have any dogs that require this I will be very happy to take them out with me. Thank you for taking the time to consider my online profile and I hope to meet with you and your fur babies soon. Warmest, Nancy.

I am a 40 year-old professional, single woman, well-traveled, multilingual. I have been in NZ for 14 years (I am an NZ citizen) and would love to own my house one day but we all know how hard it is to get into the housing market at the moment so I thought house sitting would be a great opportunity to both save money towards buying a house, get to experience living in various areas of Auckland and have the company of pets I would love to have myself, but can not afford at the moment (very hard to have pets when renting). I love animals, I grew up with animals and house pets (from sheep, cows, pigs and poultry to rabbits), we always had dogs and cats so I am very familiar to looking after almost any animal and enjoy their company very much. Personally, I am independent, mature, honest and responsible, highly organized, very clean and tidy, respectful and resourceful and can live out of a suitcase :) I am highly active and walking/running the dogs would not be a chore :) I grew up in a house, then owned an apartment, so I am familiar with looking after a house/garden/plants and animals. Please have a look through my references and feel free to call the referees who will be more than happy to provide you with more information about my character and skills as house sitter/pet minder. I would love to meet you and your pets and hope that you will consider me as your house sitter.

Hi, I'm a very clean, tidy, responsible, mature, non-smoking lady. I will not be partaaying in your house! I enjoy housesits with pets but am also happy if you are looking for someone to be in your house for security, to water plants etc. Having grown up on a farm I love all animals. I've often been left to manage the family farm, looking after cattle, sheep, working dogs, pig dogs, ducks, a cat or two, and the odd pukeko! I'm very capable and able to deal with most problems that might crop up. I'll look after your home and animals as if they were my own - keep the house clean and tidy, bring in mail, and keep in touch by text/email/whatsapp if required. I'm happy to water plants but prefer not to mow lawns or weed gardens (although this can be negotiated for longer sits). I work from home apart from 1-2 days a week when I work from the office, finishing at 3pm, and would be home nights and weekends. I'm a real homebody and would prefer somewhere quiet where I can chill and work (would need unlimited wifi). NB: I have a lot of experience housesitting via another housesitting site and through 'word of mouth',however, I have just started sitting on this site. Reviews from other sits can be provided on request. I look forward to sitting for you.

Hi Homeowners, we are Henk and San-Marie, a quiet and professional couple in their 60’s. Henk still works full-time from home as an IT professional and San-Marie is retired. We are busy building our forever home. During this time we are wanting to travel our beautiful country in a way that can be of meaning to us and others, we know the importance of having somebody looking after your home and animals responsibly. Henk enjoy Fly fishing as his main get away from work which give San-Marie the opportunity to photograph the beautiful surroundings. We also enjoy gardening, walking and craft. Henk as a woodworker and tinkerer and San-Marie as a needle woman, journal writer and scrapbooker. Therefore, we hope to combine all of this in the form of housesitting for people who need to take a break and have a time away from their own home with peace of mind, knowing somebody responsible is looking out for their home and animals. We have had cats and dogs of our own over the years. We also helped neighbours when they went away to care for them. We often have to baby sit our furry grandchildren that is a Labradoodle called Whiskey and a Ragdoll cat called Willow. We realise that we will have to leave them home while we are on our adventure. We understand that the needs of dogs and cats are different but the common factor is love, attention and feeding. We are happy to take the animals for a walk when and as it is accustomed to as much as we are able too. We love wild birds and had a water bowl and feeding tray in the garden. Looked after a bunny and some hamsters of a neighbour. We are not scared of farm animals, have rented a property many years ago where we had to make sure there was water in the throughs and kept an eye on the animals in the paddocks surrounding our home. We hope we can meet soon to make it possible for you to go away with a peaceful heart.

While waiting for my new house to be built in Auckland North, I decided to house sit and care for owner's pets while working and waiting and to see some of the countryside. Where I will eventually be living, it is a closed community environment and shareholders are not allowed to own a cat or dog - so housesitting pets is an added bonus for me. I have house-sitted family and friends' homes over the years while they were away on holiday and when growing up in Auckland, our family had cats, a corgi dog named Sandy, cockatiels and canaries. In my 20s I resided in Australia with my boyfriend and his beautiful female German shepherd dog called ‘Kelly’’. I also minded our tenants little pup called ‘Luca’ during the day, while they were at work until they left for Australia re my photos. I mainly keep to one area of the house, double check all doors and windows are securely locked before leaving the house, keep the house and section clean & tidy, water plants inside and out, pick any fruit & veges, play, walk, cuddle, chat & feed pets. I live alone semi- retired, have my own driving school business - working on a part-time basis when required. I find pets are very good company for me and me for them. For further details if you are interested in my minding your home and your loved pets.

I'm reaching out to express my sincere interest in the opportunity to house-sit for you. I would describe myself as a mature, sensible, trustworthy person with great communication skills. My reason for housesitting in the Auckland/Gisborne area is to be able to develop connections for a charity I founded in Romania in 2001. I have committed the next 2 years to being in a more 'hands-on' role though from afar. This means being available for speaking engagements etc. Because I work remotely this allows me to be flexible. I am currently nearing the end of a 3 month housesit caring for a lovely home in Remuera and a delicious cat, Mia. My own cat, Oscar, sadly passed away earlier this year so it has been extra lovely to have a fur-baby to care for. As your house sitter you can expect to feel confident that I am caring for your home/pets as you would.

Hello there! I'm Angus McDougall, a lively individual with a passion for housesitting and a background in Marketing. Having been a homeowner with my ex-husband, I discovered the joys of housesitting during the process of selling our house in Auckland, spanning from Orakei to Pt Chev. This experience sparked a newfound appreciation for the diversity of homes and neighbourhoods across the region. In my professional life, I work in Marketing, and fortunately, my job allows me flexibility. I spend two to three days a week in the office, with the rest of the time working remotely. This flexibility enables me to dedicate time to housesitting, providing homeowners with peace of mind knowing their home is in reliable hands. My housesitting journey began during the home-selling process, and since then, I've become a seasoned housesitter, having covered various locations from Orakei to Pt Chev. I particularly enjoy the opportunity to bond with pets; cats and dogs have been constant companions in the homes I've cared for, and I've found great joy in their company. Friendly animals are an absolute winner in my book! My commitment to being a reliable and responsible housesitter extends to caring for pets. Whether it's feeding, walking, or simply providing companionship, I ensure that each furry friend feels loved and secure in their home environment. I understand the importance of maintaining routines and giving pets the attention they need. Choosing me as your housesitter means welcoming a responsible and tidy individual into your home. I take pride in maintaining a clean and organised living space, almost showhome-ready. Importantly, I recognise the significance of ensuring your house looks lived in while you're away, enhancing security measures. Professionalism is key in both my marketing career and housesitting endeavours. I'm a non-smoker and non-drinker, contributing to a healthy and respectful living environment. With my flexible work schedule, I can ensure that your home is not only well-cared for but also lived in, preventing it from feeling vacant. Beyond housesitting, I am actively involved in the Rainbow Games as a board member, demonstrating my commitment to community engagement and inclusivity. Additionally, I use my free time to create engaging TikToks focused on fashion and beauty (don't worry I won't be dancing around the place!), bringing a creative touch to my daily routine. In essence, choosing me as your housesitter means gaining a trustworthy, pet-loving, and responsible caretaker who will treat your home with the utmost respect and care.

I am a professional accountant and also a homeowner. I am on a career break during 2023. My aim is to enter the job market again in 2024. At a stage where some flexibility in the short run will be wonderful and I believe house sitting can just help me with that. I am in good physical health and will be happy to do evening or morning walks with your dog or even cat of that is your wish (depends on the breed)? I am not currently employed so will have more time in the short term at your property to look after your home and pets. As a fellow home owner, I know how important your house is for you. I will ensure that your house is well looked after while you are away. I really like animals whether they are cats or dogs. I grew up with a siamese cat in the house all my life and am planning to get an abyssinian cat in the future. However with the travelling plans and the career break, I decided to put that on hold untill I get settled again. I kept tropical fish for many years so will be easy to follow your instructions to take care of them. I look forward to meeting you and your pets soon. Warm regards Stephanus

Myself and my partner were both born in England, but are now residents of NZ having lived in Auckland for the last 5 years. We have both grown up with dogs and cats so have lots of experience in looking after them and giving them the attention and care they need. We are heading back to the UK for a while soon so are currently not working so would be around full time to keep your pets company. We are both very house proud and tidy so we would take care of your home the same way we would expect ours to be looked after. I cant promise your pets won't be spoiled.... but i can promise they will be given a lot attention and very well looked after whilst you're away so you won't have to worry :)

Hi! We're Danielle and Eamonn. We started house-sitting through family friends, and found that we loved it! We love getting to know different suburbs and different pets. Eamonn is a massive dog lover (but Danielle won't let him get one yet), so house-sitting satisfies his canine cravings. Danielle is the cat lover in the relationship, so between us, we've got pets covered! Our motto is to always leave a house-sit better than we found it. Whether it's your pet, your kitchen or your garden you most need looking after, we are proud to always leave it happier, cleaner or greener than when you left. We are really grateful for every house sit we attend and understand that it is your home - so if you have any specific requirements (which most people do), do let us know. Let us know if you have any questions or need more information - we are always happy to help. Danielle and Eamonn

Hello, We are a middle-aged married couple from England and New Zealand, and we love travelling, nature, and art. We are both writers, working in the tourism sector, and we met in beautiful Bali where we have been living since 1998 and 2006. We have travelled extensively in Indonesia, including trips to some of the country's remotest corners. We have been together for 15 years, we got married in New Zealand in 2021, and we are now living our dream dividing our time between Bali and New Zealand with a little bit of England and Europe thrown in along the way. We spend five months in Bali each year, one month in Europe and the UK, and six months in New Zealand from December to June. We invite guests to stay in our house in Bali and do home exchanges when we are in New Zealand and Europe, hence us looking for some more places to stay in New Zealand. We are both animal lovers, having rescued numerous cats and dogs off the streets in Bali over the many years that we have lived here. They all became much loved members of our respective households until our last cat and finally our last dog crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago. We miss them terribly but when we made the lifestyle change to divide our time between Bali and New Zealand, we made the decision not to get any more pets. However, our love and respect for animals has not diminished and that is why we look forward to looking after other people's pets. We both work from home so will be around nearly all day every day to give your animals all the love and attention they need. What you will get with us is two very caring, professional, respectful people who understand the need for absolute trust on both sides when looking after other people’s cherished homes and beloved pets. We have ample experience with having people staying in our home and us staying in theirs, so we understand and respect how all of this works and what is expected. Not only that, we are very friendly, easy to get on with and extremely low maintenance. Let us look after your home and your animals, and rest assured that everything will be in good hands. Regards, Michael & Rachel

I am 42yrs old and a great Cat fan. I work at a Call Centre and unfortunately am not allowed a cat at my current flat in Mt Eden. I've grown up with cats all my life and always consider it a treat when I get to spend time with a local cat or dog when out walking. I have housesat for friends in the past which has involved pet sitting, dog walking, cat feeding etc. In choosing me to keep your cat/s dog/s company and fed, you're choosing a temporary friend for your them, not just a carer.

Available Jan 23 - March 8, 2024. We are on an extended trip throughout NZ. Along the way, we would love to take care of your home and animals. We have a flexible timeline and a vehicle. ...a little about us. I am a NZ'er and a retired educator. Peter is canadian and a retired computer engineer. Our home base is on a small island in western Canada. We are homeowners and fully understand the housesitting social contract and responsibilities. We currently have trustworthy housesitters in our home while we are away. Peter and I, make a great housesitting team. I take the lead with the animal and home care, Peter supports me by playing with the pets and cuddle time. He also leads our dog walking explorations into nature. As our three children grew, our home was full of much loved animals. We had two family cats and two family dogs. Oliver, the cat was much loved in the neighbourhood. During the day he would sit by the gate, greet people, and beg for a pat. During the evening, when he was not snuggled up next to the dog, or swatting her tail, he would find a lap and stay there purring. He stayed in our family for 20 years. Lassie, a border collie/lab/husky cross is perhaps the most acclaimed of all our family pets. Our children still talk of her with great love. We adopted her when she was two years old. She 'heeled' with the click of a finger and kept guard over our children when they were young. She was the most amazing and lovable dog - her photo has an honoured place in our home. In the past, we have cared for cats, dogs, sheep, pigs, bees, chickens, ducks, fischers parrot, rabbits, and hamsters. The key in caring for pets is to have established expectations: food and exercise routines/cuddle times and ensure that animals have ample fresh water everyday. We love all animals and plants and can turn my hand to most tasks involved in caring for them. Also, I might add that I enjoy exploring regenerative agriculture concepts. I am a founding director of School Orchards Africa Society, in Tanzania. Having built our home and hobby farm, Peter is familiar with most house systems, on and off grid. He is a good guitar player. We are happy to zoom chat with you regarding your home and animals needs. WhatsApp works too. Kind regards, Linda

Kia ora :) Antoine is from France and Pauline from Belgium, we have been in New Zealand respectively 3 and 10 years. Pauline studies full time in auckland so is bound to the city during school term. Antoine remotely works for a company based in Dunedin. Antoine's flexibility for work means he can travel around a bit. We currently live in Warkworth. Depending on the place and time, we could both be house siting or just one of us, eg auckland only for Pauline during school term. We had several experience house sitting friend's places and recently took up pet sitting to a more serious level :) We love animals but we are not in a position to have some at the moment, and we like to move around, so we thought house sitting would be a good opportunity to meet both those things. If there are cats involved, they won't be cuddle deprived as Antoine is crazy about them. We are both trained in permaculture, love gardening and work as gardeners and looking after properties so can easily keep an eye on your property. We have both lived on farms, so we are familiar with cows and sheep but have never looked after them per se Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

We're Liana and Nick, a fun-loving couple originally from Hawaii who came over on working holiday in 2019 and have since become residents. We've traveled this beautiful country from top to bottom, working and creating great experiences along the way. Now, as we are settling and trying to find our new town to call home, we're excited to discover and experience new potential communities for us to be apart of through house sitting. Animals hold a special place in our hearts. Back in Hawaii, we shared our lives with dogs, rabbits, cats, chickens and pigs. We have cared for all different types of animals from llamas to tortoises, we have experience house and pet sitting for our family members and friends as well as woofing farms throughout NZ. Rest assured, your furry, feathered, or scaled babies will be cared for with lots of love and attention. We have cared for animals of all ages and types of conditions, we know that some pets have different needs and acquire more care. We will make sure that your pet gets the special attention it needs weather it be certain dietary needs, extra exercise or whatever they need to keep them happy. We also have lots of knowledge about keeping gardens and tending to the land/landscaping. Liana's father owns a lifestyle block and we spend a lot of our time there back home in Hawaii caring for fruit trees, plants and animals. We're responsible, tidy, and have an eye for detail. Your home will be treated with the utmost respect, kept clean and fresh, and any unexpected situations will be handled with calm resourcefulness. We believe in excellent communication, so you'll always be in the loop. We'd love to meet you and chat more about how we can provide the best house sitting experience possible. Warm regards, Liana and Nicholas

Hi there, We are Adam and Eszter, a friendly couple in our late 30s. We are originally from Hungary, but have been living in New Zealand for more than 6 years. We are NZ citizens. I, Adam, grew up on a lifestyle farm on the countryside, where I had the chance of playing with and taking care of many types of animals mainly cats, dogs, chickens, ducks and pigs. We also often went around to check out the neighbors' sheep, cows and horses. I believe that my sensible personality makes me a good match to many kinds of animals. Also my family has long line of gardeners, and I also inherited a bit of the green thumb. My profession is IT engineer working at FoodStuffs 9-5 as a Data Insights Manager. As an engineer I also enjoy being the handyman around the house, and I like to get involved in DIY project in my free time. I, Eszter, am from a mid-size city of Hungary. My mother is from a small farm, where I had the pleasure of spending my childhood summers. I loved the various kinds of animals, cats, dogs, chicken and horses, and all the works around the house. I did spend most of my time outside which I enjoy doing to this day. I enjoy connecting with friendly animals, helping in the garden and around the house, and going on long walks in the nature. I am a dedicated yoga practitioner and a Senior IT Project Manager, working 9-5 on weekdays with the option of working from home. We are caring and responsible people who want to help out families like yours by looking after your pets and property while you are away, just as how we did for many others before. We are experienced pet sitters with several lovely stories to share, and happy to help you out with other activities around the house. Please feel free to get in touch with our references who will happily vouch for our character and skills by sharing their own personal experience with us. We would love to meet you and your pets and hope that you will consider us as your house sitters. Eszter and Adam Horvath

Hi! Great to meet you! Our names are Erroll and Roman. In the photos, Erroll has dark brown hair, and Roman has blonde hair. A bit about us both... Roman grew up on a farm in Czech Republic, and so has experience in caring for animals, including: cats, dogs, sheep, cows, pigs, horses and pigeons. Yes, Roman has trained pigeons! :) Erroll grew up in a big family (14 Aunties!) in Wellington (NZ) and often babysat his younger cousins. His family had two dogs and two cats, while he had his own pet turtle! These days he looks after his family's homes and pets while they are away, as well as babysitting for his four nephews. We love to travel - see photos for some of our adventures around New Zealand. We take pride in being clean and tidy! We enjoy cooking meals. But we are also active people, love to hike and swim. So, if you have a dog, they can come for walks with us! We are non-smokers. Feel free to reach out. Happy to meet in person or chat on the phone any time before housesitting. Talk soon :)

Hello our names are Suzanne and Rex, Suzanne and I have sold our home in Wanaka and are now looking to explore NZ and the world, as much as we can ,while we can. Our previous career paths have included pharmacy and hospitality and we look forward to a new challenge. We are a retired couple, both honest and responsible and having had family pets most of our married life we understand the care required. We have loved the company of our Labrador and 2 German Shepherds over the years and cats have been our constant companions. Being retired we are both able to spend as much time as is necessary to ensure your precious numbers are looked after. We both have a keen interest in gardening and are happy to help out if required. I enjoy fishing and Suzanne's Christian faith mixes well with her love of music (esp. piano ). We look forward to meeting with you and your pets very soon.

I own a car so I am available to travel to remote areas and am happy to take your pets on regular walks if needed. I have built up lots of housesitting experience now, both in the UK and before I left my travels I did many housesits from which I had excellent experiences! I have references for these NZ housesits if needed. So far I have looked after small- to larger dogs, cats, guinea pigs, dwarf hamsters and a frog! I am happy to care for animals that need a bit more attention or have medication that they need to take daily. Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to read our profile. Our names are Ch…
Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to read our profile. Our names are Charlotte (Lottie) Jepson and James O'Hern, we're both 30 years old and originally from the UK. We've been in New Zealand for over 3 years and we're looking to make this wonderful country our home. We've fallen in love with the place and see ourselves living here long term. The reason for house sitting at the moment is because we've been travelling regularly between the UK and NZ in the last 12 months. Due to the shorter stints in NZ, usually 8-12 weeks at a time, getting a lease on a house for short periods is challenging and we'd prefer to spend time with friends, camping or housesitting which offers more variety and flexibility for us. Our interests are hiking, camping, cycling, surfing, reading, cooking and travelling overseas - almost anything outdoorsy. Between us we've had a several pets of our own, completed a number of housesits, and regularly look after relatives pets, so we have a lot of experience looking after animals and making sure they're well fed, cleaned, walked, loved and rested - plus we all keep each other company which is just as important. We're both able to work remotely, so we're always able to stay at home for long periods of the day to look after pets. If you choose us to look after your pet(s) and home, they will be in safe hands. We're a clean and organised so we can stay on top of managing the house will make sure things get done on time. We're also aware that regular updates and good communication will help you enjoy your time away. We're respectful and mindful of the space we're using so you'll find the house in the same condition when you return home. We're happy to share any further information or chat things through on the phone or via video call to get to know each other before making a decision. Thanks for considering our profile, we hope to see you soon. James & Lottie

I am a single/separated 46yo professional (Senior Management) that enjoy travelling and experiencing new towns/cities and cultures. I've been house sitting for a colleague for the last 5 months and decided I love the lifestyle, and with the work flexibility I have, I want to make the most of it as long as possible and save up for a big overseas trip. I love animals and connect easily with them. I grew up with and cared for a variety of animals (farm + domestic). Also open to look after animals I haven't dealt with previously. I am healthy, fitness oriented and neat, and do my best to keep my surrounding environment the same. As a house sitter, you can expect your animals, house and its contents to be treated with respect and kept neat and tidy.

Hi, I am Anca, a mother of two gorgeous athlete kids, my son is 20 years old, my daughter is 17, they are both born in NZ I left a toxic relationship with their father three years ago and i went back to my country of birth for a while to care for my mother that lives with Alzheimer since 2009 I went with my daughter, she returned after a year and a half and now I am back to visit but not welcome to his house I love to contribute and help wherever possible, and stay around Auckland to be able to see my kids. With the kids we had rabbits, cats, mice, hamsters and a dog and a tomcat , both rescued I went back to Europe in 2020 till a month ago, when i came back. I really enjoy the energy and unconditional love our companion animals offer and I love walking, playing or just being around them. 'm Alice, a proud resident of Auckland for the past 10 years. By day, I serve as a full-time accounts payable officer, currently working remotely due to office closures, with plans to resume on-site duties come January 22nd, 2024. Outside of the professional realm, I embrace a healthy lifestyle, hitting the gym every second day. Amidst workouts, I take great pleasure in tending to my friend's two beloved cats, drawing on insights gained from friends to ensure their well-being. Maintaining a neat living space has become an art for me—a delightful workout that conveniently explains my weekend gym hiatus! In a previous role as an early childhood teacher, I had the joy of caring for not only two charming birds but also involving the children in their care routine. Together, we fed our feathered friends and tidied their cage, instilling a sense of responsibility and care. As I embark on a journey to save for a housing deposit, house sitting emerges as the perfect blend of my affection for animals and knack for home maintenance. I'll be overseas from February 1st to March 1st, 2024, making house sitting upon my return an ideal arrangement. Rest assured, as a responsible and reliable individual, I grasp the significance of keeping your home secure. References are readily available, and I'm more than willing to address any queries you may have. Eager for the opportunity to care for your home and pets. Let's have a chat!

My name is Ursula, I am a translator and work from home. I am originally from Germany, have been a New Zealand resident for 30 years and lived in Nelson and Auckland. Recently I returned to NZ after two years overseas, I plan to stay until March ´24. Shortly after I returned to Germany 2 years ago a feral starved cat showed up at my property. I did feed her with the intention to find her a home. Soon she had 4 kittens in tow and I fed all of them with the intention to take them to the SPCA. 3 kittens were castrated but I was told they could not be homed because they were free runners and needed to stay in their territory. Their territory is next to my home at the end of a village. 3 kittens were poisoned, the mother and her son have been living with me ever since (see photos). They are well looked after while I am away and I miss them.

We both are responsible and enthusiastic animal lovers. We are clean freaks (in the best way) and enjoy an active lifestyle. We are proud homeowners who love to travel. Mitch is training to join the police force and would like a buddy to join him on his runs. He grew up on a farm and has extensive experience with all sorts of animals (big & small, healthy & disabled, tame & wild). Kate is a bookworm that needs someone to keep her company while she gets lost in her next big read. Hailing from Namibia, this is her fifth country of residence in her 26 years. She grew up petting cheetahs and lived to tell the tale. We both work from home at least twice a week (Mitch can work remotely whenever he wants, Kate is not so lucky). We are both looking for animals to love while their parents are adventuring around the world (or in their backyard, we aren't picky).

I'm saving toward a home deposit and I would really like to accelerate this process by saving on rent through house-sitting. I'm confident your pets will quickly form a strong bond with me (especially dogs!) as I have a very gentle and caring demeanour. Hi, I am Nathan. I am in my early fifties and I have owned my own home most of my adult life. During that time I have cared for many pets including dogs(German Shephered and 2x Cavoodles, several cats, birds, fish, rabbits and mice). I love animals. I owned and lived on a lifestyle property (10 acres) for several years and am familiar with providing basic care for cattle, sheep, pigs, goats and chooks. I work fulltime remotely as a software developer and have the ability to work from anywhere that there is a reliable internet connection so am available to sit pretty much anywhere in NZ. This also means that I am able to be at home during the day and can give your pets plenty of attention all day long. I would enjoy the opportunity to chat with you about your requirements and meet your furbabies. Nathan

Hiya, my name is Meg and I am an osteopath working in a clinic in Point Chevalier. I am currently saving for a house and I’ve found house sitting is the best way to do this. I have lots of experience house-sitting with cats and dogs in various different homes around Auckland, for varying lengths of time. I am a young professional who is responsible, clean & tidy, and committed. I enjoy playing squash, skiing, and going to the gym and I love being outdoors. I used to own a cleaning business which is a bonus too! Alongside being an osteo, I do a lot of babysitting and nannying as I love to be around kids. I have a big family made up of Mum & Dad, my three brothers and their partners, and me. When I am not working you can find me with them. I also have three baby nephews who I love to spend time with and being an Aunty is the biggest blessing ever!

Hi, My partner and I are responsible people who have done a lot of traveling. We understand the importance of trust when it comes to house sitting, this is because we are homeowners ourselves and business owners. We have joined house sitters to make it possible for us to travel to different regions more. I also grew up on a farm and my family ran SPCA for our region, as well as operating our Cattery. I also have a lot of other experience with animals. We look forward to chatting with you about house sitting at your place!

We are a professional, reliable and trustworthy couple in our 40's, both originally from the UK who met while living in Western Australia for the last 10 years. We are both homeowners and fully understand the importance of taking care of your home and belongings and treating them with care and respect. We are passionate about animals and have had dogs and cats (and chickens) of our own when living in the UK, and while living in Australia we fostered, house sat and did long term dog sitting in our home. We also raised and trained a gorgeous 6-month-old Labrador x retriever to become an assistance dog for the Western Australian Assistance and Therapy Trust, who required a lot of training and work towards confidence building and being calm in everyday situations. At the same time we also had our 2 long term dog borders, 2 wonderful Labradors who we had for over 2 years on a 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off basis, for their owner who was a FIFO worker. We are experienced with highly active dogs, having been brought up with Springer Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels and Labradors. We are also experienced with dogs who may be timid and require extra confidence, having had a Labrador who was very unsure of the world, taking a lot of patience, care and love to bring her out of her shell and allowing her to experience the world at her own pace. We are both experienced in looking after your feline members of the family also. I had a cat, Jade, when I moved out of my family home, who was truly spoilt and lived to the grand old age of 22 years, and since being in Australia and here in New Zealand, we have done multiple house sits for cats, and have enjoyed getting to know their personalities and quirks. Avid outdoor fans, who love to hike, swim, ride, camp and run (Greg, not me on that one!!). Our dogs go everywhere we go and are included as part of the family on our adventures. Your animals will be loved and cared for as if they were our own for the time that we are with them. Greg works from home and will be on hand for daily needs, and I work shifts as a Paramedic, and am home for 6 days out of 8. We have experience in looking after animals of all ages and happy to dispense medications and treat any medical needs. We have moved to New Zealand to experience the beauty of the country, have some adventures, meet new people and open ourselves up to new experiences. We are continuing to work in our specialist fields and are looking to house sit, to experience the different areas that Auckland has to offer before settling down in our forever home.

Hey there We are Alyssa and Arti, a young adventurous couple currently settled in auckland. Alyssa is studying sports management at Aut, and Arti is an out door education and P.E teacher at a secondary school in east auckland. The reason we are house sitting is we are living with family to try to mitigate these expenses times and to save for a house of our own. House sitting gives us the independence of living away from family while still saving! we both love animals especially cats but cant have any due to allergies in our house hold so we’d would love to love your fur babies!! When it comes to house sitting, Alyssa has the most experience. I have housesitted mostly for friends and family since i was in my teens. I use to regularly housesit for my boss as a teenager, looking after their cat and dog. In 2020 i helped look after 2 cats and a energetic puppy over a three week period. Earlier this year i house sat for a friend of a friend with 2 dogs and 2 cats. (my reference) Together we have house sat for a family friend in the hawkes bay, looking after their energetic Black Lab. If you were to choose us you would have responsible and reliable people looking after your house and/or pets. We don’t drink or smoke. we are clean and organised. We will also spend lots of time loving your pets and in the house as we have a flexible schedule.

I'm a trustworthy, mature, single woman, currently working remotely as a support worker for Victim Support based at Manukau Police Station. I have undergone police vetting to be able to complete this work so you can rest assured your home, pets and all personal belongings will be well looked after and respected. I am a farm girl at heart so not afraid of anything more than the care of usual domestic animals. I have some 30+ years experience with dog and cat care as a pet owner myself, and in a previous life maintained a healthy tropical fish aquarium. I am happy to incorporate doggy walks etc as part of my own fitness activities (usually a morning or evening walk) or provide animal care more specific to your pet needs. House and pet sitting have been a way to create win-win situations for both parties and has also helped me to manage work/life balance better while studying extramurally towards a masters degree over the past few months. I am flexible in terms of location and ok to travel providing the sit duration makes relocating worthwhile. I have a preference for North Island based sits but will consider a South Island sit if you are ok for me to use your vehicle (to do local grocery shopping) for the duration of the sit. I have completed most of my house and pet sits either privately or via the Kiwihousesitters website (more references are available via Kiwihousesitters website). Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. Hopefully I'll get to meet you and your pets soon :)

Hello! My name is Megan. I’m 32. I was born in Tauranga but raised on the North Shore of Auckland. I grew up with multiple cats but have a love for all animals. I studied graphic design at university before going on an OE for 2.5 years to America and Europe. Upon returning home to NZ I switched careers and decided to join the Police. My role within the Police has me working mainly Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 2:30pm. I am a hardworking, trustworthy and responsible person who enjoys living an active lifestyle. I am sociable however prefer a quiet time at home over going out. I am looking at house sitting while my house is being built, the completion date has been pushed out a number of times due to various delays. I love animals, especially cats and dogs. I have a cat called Monty who I share custody of with my sister. I have experience looking after cats, dogs and other small pets. I am clean and tidy and who respect other peoples property and space. I would love the opportunity to look after your home and pets for you and provide peace of mind for you while you are away. I look forward to meeting you, Megan

Hi there!! I am a 48 year old professional worker in the Search and Rescue sector, single/male and just back in the area after 5 years travelling the country with previous employment. I am looking forward to returning to Auckland and found that housesitting worked for me for the 5 years previously I was based here. I take a great deal of care and pride to ensure the property and pets I am entrusted with is cared for and looked after to the best of my ability. I do not mind a bit of additional effort to keep this clean/tidy. My 12 hour shift work may not be ideal for some pets though, it is a 4 days on/4 days off roster. My honesty and integrity are forefront of my daily routines, I get on well with all and have a genuine positive approach towards life. If selected I will respect your wishes regarding use of property and care for your beloved pets, I will arrive and depart at the times agreed to, undertake any other roes as agreed upon, and I will ensure that you come back to a clean and welcoming home. I love to travel and wish to experience the freedom and variety that housesitting offers. I grew up learning to respect and care for one's property and look after all those under the roof - pets included. I have looked after properties for friends, family and work associates over the years and cared for their pets, property and gardens. Thank you for taking the time to consider my online profile and I hope to hear from you shortly. Kind regards Johnny

Hello, I’m Kate; here is a little about me. I am a Teacher and have had the good fortune to have been able to travel the world with my career. I’m originally from Nelson. During the last 25 years, I have lived and worked in London, Bangkok, HCMC, Shanghai, and Beijing. It has all been an exciting adventure. While living and working in Vietnam and China, I looked after friends’ pups and then went on to foster many dogs. I found a tiny puppy on the street in Shanghai. He lived with me for three years and turned out to be a big dog. His name is Paddy. Sadly, I could not bring him back to New Zealand with me. I found him a great and loving home and have regular contact with his 2nd Mummy. I will always be 1st Mummy. I am sure you will understand how heartbreaking it was separating from him. I am currently living in Auckland and am keen to see more of NZ particularly the South Island. I am available for house sits all over NZ during the school holidays. During the last two years I have been pet and house sitting regularly. I love dogs and cats. I am a keen walker and love finding new places to walk. The only thing that is missing is a furry freind. I am clean and tidy and enjoy healthy living. I am a non-smoker.

We are a couple who have had many moves over the years due to family commitments. We do not own our own home, but we love seeing different parts of the country. We are animal lovers and love to relax, read and roam a little. We have three adult daughters, one granddaughter and just love the fresh air, fossicking for unusual stones on beaches and river beds. We have house sat many times and caring for pets is just another enjoyable facet of housesitting. We are reliable, responsible and considerate towards the home and homeowners.

Single professional, non-smoker, caring, reliable, and trustworthy. Hello, I have been housesitting for over 6 yrs now and have been so fortunate to have stayed in many lovely homes in the Bay of Plenty, Taupo & Auckland. The gorgeous pets I have cared for include cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, sheep, chickens, cows, and guinea pigs. I do prefer to look after cats as I work during the day (Please note: I do not work from home, I work as a temp) if you have a dog that can be left for the day that may work to. I love meeting new pets and especially love to catch up with wee friends I have cared for in the past. I absolutely adore cats and dogs, and have met some very interesting characters along the way! and I look forward to meeting many more. I grew up with a Cat and dog, and just love their company and playing with them, and don't mind at all if they snuggle up in bed. I'm also happy to administer medication and flea treatments etc. and take your wee friend to the vet if required. I can assure you that your house will be spotless on your return and I will treat it as if it were my own home, I'm quite the perfectionist. More than happy to water plants, garden etc. and really whatever else needs to be done, you only have to ask. My gardening experience is very limited & I don't mow lawns. I do like to bring my own food and other essential items for the duration of my stay. I can also provide my own bed linen and towels etc. should this be required. Whilst your away I will keep in regular contact via text, Messenger or WhatsApp with a brief update and a photo or 2. Where possible it's nice to meet with the homeowner and pet/s in person, or via Messenger, WhatsApp etc. prior to the house sit. Please contact me for availability, I look forward to meeting with you. Take Care Rima

I'm an Aucklander working in PR, currently based just south of Auckland City. Dancing, acting and yoga are among my hobbies. I'm keen for a change of scene by trying out the North Shore - why not give someone a hand with housesitting while I'm at it? I've house sat for friends and family over the years, with a geriatric cat among my charges :) I grew up with pets: two cats, a golden retriever and a budgie. I'm reliable, I keep regular hours, I work from home sometimes and I'll look after your place as if it was my own.

Hey there, I am very much hoping that you choose me to house sit your home, i am responsible, reliable, clean, trustworthy and very respectful. I am a home bodied sort of person and enjoy reading, drawing, watching docos and cooking good food in my down time. I am a chef by trade but am currently working as a gardener/ landscaper as well as a few art projects on the side, so if your garden needs tending to I'll be more than happy to help. I absolutely love all animals and grew up having a few cats and dogs. I have house sat for people in the past but have never used this website to do so. If you choose me you can expect your furry friend (s) to be showered and bathed in love, cuddles and good times. ( if you have pets of cause) otherwise, you can expect your home to be completely and utterly respected and cherished and left in the exact order you left it in. I have just returned home after a year or so travelling overseas and am just looking for my options in terms of accommodation. I heard about this website and thought I'd give it a go. I look forward to hearing from you soon, take care and many thanks. Gemma :)

Kia ora, I am a mature (61years old) professional women with a background in Design, Art, Film, Tertiary Teaching and Landscape Architecture. I currently teach online from home. I have been living between Auckland and Hamilton - near family. I am hoping to resettle in the Wellington area, having lived there on and off since 1981, and I still love it. I love animals and would look after your pets, home and garden with great care and respect. I am an experienced house sitter and pet minder, I also spent a year house sitting while in Melbourne. Hello, We are Christine & David Eyre a couple of expat poms now well and truly settled in God’s own South Island 20 years ago, with children and grandchildren in both hemispheres. Currently no pets as we enjoy the freedom but we have lots of experience having previously owned dogs, cats, fish, rabbits, hamster’s mice and even an elderly tortoise. Christine and I enjoy travel, walking, cycling and swimming, but also can spend time with a good book or two; practical and quite handy in the garden we had a pool in our last home. Having brought up three children we now have a wee bit of freedom to travel, although we enjoy our beautiful home in Tahunanui we would love the opportunity to care for your home and pets in your community and explore further our beautiful country. We are a newly married couple who both have had past housesitting experience as well as pet care experience, having looked after a variety of pets from, dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish and a turtle. Both of us have an affinity towards dogs, but would lovingly look after any pets who need cuddles in your absence. Jacob works full-time as a builder and Ebony studies part-time through Massey University and works part-time. Ebony often studies from home in the mornings and works in the afternoons, which means she would be home for a good portion of the day to ensure your pets have plenty of company. We are both mature and reliable individuals, and as sitters you can expect good communications, pet lovers who will follow your instructions, oodles of cuddles for your pets and a tidy well kept home for you to return to. We look forward to meeting you and your pets very soon. Warm regards Ebony & Jacob

Kia Ora, We are a couple in our thirties who are settling in to New Zealand from abroad (Aimee from Australia, Tetteh from the US). We met in London 6 years ago, and are very much enjoying living in beautiful Aotearoa. We are enjoying house sitting as we love the opportunity to see different parts of the country, love animals, and have flexibility given we largely work from home. We are both working professionals - Aimee is a Social Worker having spent the last 13 years working in the criminal justice system, and Tetteh is a Forensic Psychologist. Tetteh also has a education background and has previously worked as a University Lecturer in Forensic Psychology, however is also a qualified Psychologist. He is currently contracting to organisations doing training and facilitation, one on one therapy, and group therapy for those with substance use issues. Aimee also works from home and contracts to Ministry of Justice completing court reports for criminal courts, as well as doing training and facilitation and restorative practice with tertiary institutions and organisations. We both largely work from home, however do have face to face meetings or workshops in town a few times per week. We both come from homes where we have adored our pets. Aimee grew up with cats, and has a family cat named Sunny who is the family princess and adored by everyone. Tetteh is a HUGE animal lover, and takes up every opportunity to spend time with family and friends who have animals (particularly dogs!). We are both very responsible people who do not smoke, are outgoing and trustworthy, and happy to ensure all steps are taken to ensure your animals and property are adequately cared for. If we are chosen as house sitters for your property, we can guarantee your home and animals will be in very safe and capable hands. We are both extremely approachable, pro-active and respectful individuals who understand the trust that goes into allowing others to stay in your property and care for your loved ones. We are very responsive and are happy to provide very regular updates on your home and animals, as well as to provide any reassurance that might be needed :) We are super happy to meet you - either in person or in Skype - to discuss any questions there might be, or any other info! Hope to speak with you soon, Aimee and Tetteh

Hi there, We are a professional couple (both Deputy Principals) with 2 young children (8yrs and 5yrs). We are active, love the outdoors and love animals. We are happy to look after any pets. Our youngest child is very gentle with pets, as is our eldest who is very used to animals. She likes to help us feed, wash and take care of them, and where appropriate, take them for walks. Rochelle was bought up on a farm and is comfortable with livestock and farm dogs. We have had pets before, including 2 shih tzu dogs, which we bred from for a number of years, so are used to dogs of all ages. We are also equally comfortable looking after cats. We maintain a clean and tidy household and will respect any property that we are in. We will take great care of your home and love your pets like our own. We have had a number of house sits now and all of our reviews have been excellent. Kind Regards, Shane and Rochelle

Myself and my husband have traveled to NZ for an extended stay to visit our daughter and her family. We have a large flock of ducks at home in Ireland that we care for and have had cats and dogs over the years. We have alot of experience looking after our neighbour's small holding which includes chickens, ducks, pigs and dogs. We would really like the opportunity to house sit as a way to keep it interesting and varied while we are staying in New Zealand. We are happy to walk dogs, cut lawns, water plants and put out bins.

In my most recent housesits in New Zealand, I used my experience of growing up with animals and my pet-loving and caring nature to support owners to feel at ease whilst they were away on their holiday. I am a strong relationship builder and communicator and am able to quickly build rapport with you and your pets. I value building an encouraging, positive and friendly environment with everyone I meet. An example of this is when I recently housesat in Wellington and looked after several chickens. As I do not eat eggs, I quickly made friends with some neighbours by sharing them so they did not go to waste. Alfie the dog and I were soon invited along for evening walks and morning coffees. I always make sure to send you regular photos of your pets having fun and being cared for as I know you’ll be worrying about and missing them. With my years of staying in housesitting, houseshares and living in tiny homes, I pride myself on keeping a clean home. An example of this is organising myself with a weekly cleaning rota where I split the tasks up over the week to break down the tasks and keep on top. I am also a keen gardener, growing vegetables and flowers from seed to table and caring for a variety of cacti and houseplants. I am happy to keep on top of watering and garden maintenance for you as required. I am enthusiastic, committed and dynamic and my experience in international travel, housesitting, owning and caring for dogs, goats, cows, chickens, cats and bees have gained me the skills and confidence to housesit for your beloved pets and home. Also, my skill in communication and building relationships with you, your pet and your close ones and my passion of keeping the homes I stay in clean will make sure you can relax on your holiday and return to happy pets and a a calm and clean home. I love to travel and have several hobbies including walking, cooking and sewing. I work in the health industry and after finishing my fixed term contract, I am taking some time off to travel and will be working in Wellington from June. I hope to get a part time role or a role that has some flexible working from home arrangements. I look forward to speaking with you and finding out more about your beloved pets and home. Best wishes, Millie

Hello. We are Lisa and Roy, living in Auckland for Lisa's study and enjoying seeing what this part of the country has to offer now that covid restrictions have been lifted. I'm studying and Roy's retired so we have the flexibility to spend time away from home. We own our own home back in the Manawatu, and as your housesitters, we will care for your home and pets in the way we would want ours cared for. Our hope is that you will come home to a sense of welcome and happy pets. We lead a pretty quiet life; lots of reading, research, coffee in the sun in a park or a cafe. We've shared our lives with our own furbabies - some very spoilt Golden Retrievers and rescue cats from the SPCA - who have ruled our hearts. But now that they're not with us we are happy to share some love with other people's pets. Regards Lisa and Roy

Hi, my name is Carolina, 37 years old, I am a NZ resident and currently living with my boyfriend Tomas who has just turned 41. I am an accountant and I am currently working in a software company. I play hockey and try to go to the gym at least 3 times a week to counteract the chocolate and ice cream I eat while watching Netflix (my absolutely favourite activity!!!). At least 3 or 4 times a week I work from home and I love my job as it gives me absolute flexibility with my schedule. I’ve also recently started my MBA in the University of Auckland so I am also spending quite some time studying and going through assignments. Tomas is an Industrial and Logistics Engineer studying for an Operations and Logistics postgraduate degree (Remotely - from a Chilean University). He is particularly fond of dogs since he is super active (of course he is not a smoker!) and he enjoys going for really long walks. He is training now for the Gold Coast marathon on the first days of July and aiming to finish it in less than 3 hours!! (overall he has done over 17 marathons!!) We live in Mission Bay, but it doesn't allow us to get any pets so we love the idea of housesitting as it gives us the opportunity to apply our fondness of animals and at the same time it gives us the possibility to try different neighbourhoods or areas until we decide where we could buy our house in the future! We have experience with different pets as we both had dogs and cats while growing up and we've also did some housesitting during our youth and recently through this website!! You can check our references as we had amazing experiences so far in different parts of New Zealand We are available upon request for further interviews, so please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!! We look forward to meeting you soon! Caro & Tomi

Hello I'm Maggie, an Auckland based music teacher, photojournalist and jazz musician with experience house sitting both in NZ and abroad. I have recently returned from New York where I released my latest album and am looking for short and longer term housesits while I build a place of my own on my section. A little about myself: I am a responsible and reliable house-sitter and have cared for homes and pets around Auckland, and New York so experienced. I am a non-smoker, very clean and respectful of the homes I look after. I appreciate I am staying in someone's home and not just a house and make sure that the place is exactly as you left it when you return. I love animals and will happily care for your pets while you are away. Happy to provide excellent references if needed.

South Taranaki girl at heart, currently living in own home in the adventurous Manawatu. Spent many years living in the City of Sails where family still reside. Love hanging out with four legged bestie (see photo), catching up with family or chillin at home with the chooks and feline buddy. Only recently completed an apiculture course and learning the art and science of beekeeping! Interested in house sitting as way to visit family in Akl or the Naki and meet some furry friends (like a home away from home). I’m the resident house & pet sitter in my cul de sac probably coz the pets befriended me first before I had even met their owners lol. It’s true my pup has four legged besties which come to our house when they escape their backyards! I have looked after pets when colleagues have gone abroad on deployments as I was in the NZDF for over 12 years. You can expect an affectionate, reliable, clean and trustworthy house sitter that will be respectful to your loved pet and your property. :)

Hi there, we are Charis and Imogen. Both from the UK and travelling around New Zealand on our working holiday. Charis was raised in London and grew up with 3 cats, 2 of which, sadly passed away over the Covid period. He now has 2 new cats back in the UK: Margo and Milou and really loves having animals around him, as he feels most at ease when there are pets in the home. Charis works as an artist and painter, specialising in oil on canvas portraits. I (Imogen) grew up in Cambridge in a busy household of teachers and we never had pets, much to my disappointment! To make up for it, my parents always looked after our neighbours pets during the school holidays - which we still do to this day. I regularly look after my neighbours cat Maiko and their dogs Budica (a corgi) and Keira (a Newfoundland) as well as, their goldfish. I have worked for 3 years in corporate marketing as a Video Producer, and I hope to continue my career into Film and TV production. We both have a sense of adventure and came to New Zealand on a working holiday to explore the beautiful scenery and meet new people. Please take a look through our references and feel free to contact our referees, who will happily vouch for our characters. Both of us are patient and respectful people, and we look forward to caring for your pets and homes while you are away. Charis & Imogen

We are both retired/semi- retired health professionals and keen to spend some quality periods in various regions of New Zealand to get the feel of living there for a short time. We both do gym a few times a week and have recently done a trip overseas where we walked for at least 3 hours a day. We have previously housesat for friends and cared for their animals. We have also housesat for a couple in Sydney on numerous occasions and they keep inviting us back to do the same. They all came back to homes that were kept neat and tidy and animals that had been cared for well. We have recently done a housesit north of Auckland, where we cared for, walked and cuddled Ruby and Roxy, collies with a hint of greyhound. There are three photos from that house stay. We will look after your home like it is our own and ensure that it is spick and span. A bit of background to our pets: Growing up Colleen owned spaniels and Rob had a cat and a bull terrier. When our children were still at home, we owned a black Labrador, a bull mastiff and a rescue fluffy dog. When our Labrador and first bull mastiff passed on, we acquired another bull mastiff and a Staffordshire terrier! The photos are of second bull mastiff, Rastus, Toffee the Staffie and Puddles the rescue dog. Since then we have downsized and moved to a townhouse which doesn’t really suit animals, but we miss them. We will love and care for your pets as we did ours. Cats tend to gravitate to us, and while we don’t have our own, we do get cuddles from our daughter’s cats, Charlotte and Stitch and they live close by. We also cared for our daughter’s cat for five months in recent years, while they did renovations. Charlotte came back to visit us regularly once she moved back home! We look forward to chatting to you about your home and your pets’ needs.

Hi there, my fiancé Jason and I are tidy, organised young professionals who would love to look after a home and their loved ones to have a change of scenery from the Wellington CBD. We have both looked after other family friend's houses and animals about a dozen times, including dog walks and feeding, sleeping over and making sure the garden is looked after. We enjoy reading a good book, watching Netflix shows and going for different nature walks in our spare time. We are homebodies who like to relax on the couch with a cup of tea and spend quality time with our friends and family. We got engaged at Poppies in Martinborough in January 2022 and are so happy to be starting our lives together filled with many happy travels and memories. You can expect a very clean and tidy home to return to. Also happy animals that are well loved and your home being treated with the utmost respect. We look forward to meeting you!

Hi there! My name is Frances and I live in central Dunedin. I am an Artist that works from home. I find this works in well with offering my services as a house and pet sitter, not only does it allow me to regularly travel around both the South and North Island of New Zealand, but it enables me to spend quality time at home befriending and looking after your pets, giving them that one on one company, attention and continuity of care and routines that they are used too. I am a mature single woman, with no dependents and have an animal-loving personality. I come from a large Dutch, farming family from the Waikato, so from a young age I started house and pet sitting for family and friends. I am a very reliable, honest, clean and tidy person with good communication skills, with references that can verify this to put your mind at rest:) I have had many house sitting positions over the years, the most current being for Alan, in Otautau, Southland (see reference attached). This was a large property with one gorgeous dog and I cared for him for around three months. Over Christmas I house sat for Rosie and Ian in Christchurch for 6 weeks, they had one dog, two cats, a goldfish and a vege patch (see other reference attached). These were both very enjoyable experiences, I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with their pets and sharing their spaces with them. I also have a picture of Casper the dog in my profile - as you can see, we are out taking him for a bit of a driving lesson :) As my references will tell you, I am a trustworthy and respectful person who communicates well. I am very reliable, clean and tidy and have been told by past home owners that what they appreciated most was not only did they come home to a clean and tidy house, but they could see that their animals were well cared for and loved. I am a bright creative friendly person who you will find a delight to have in your home. Thank you for taking the time to consider my online profile and feel free to call my referees, who will be more than happy to vouch for my character and skills as a house sitter and pet minder. I do hope to meet with you and your pets shortly. Warmest regards...Frances:)

Hi, my name is Maggie. I am a mature and reliable woman, finding myself in an 'empty nest'. Without son and without pets! I've been a homeowner for decades, and so I know the value of having someone who will take good care of your home. Until now I've always had pets, so will love taking care of cats, dogs, chickens and any other animals you may have. If you have a garden or outdoor area, I'm happy to make sure things are maintained. I'm confident in rural and urban environments, having lived in both. Why am I interested in housesitting? I mainly work from home (computer) so am flexible about where I am located. I'm based in Auckland and am employed by the University of Auckland, but enjoy discovering new places now and then. And I have family and friends in other parts of the country so like to be closer to them. I don't smoke, nor am I a party animal. Boringly safe! My experience as a house and pet sitter includes occasional weekends, a three month stint, and everything in between. I've befriended elderly cats, huge dogs, goats and even hand milked a cow as part of my 'sitting' experiences. Happy to answer any questions as you make your decisions.

We are an active retired couple who enjoy walking and biking who have always had cats and dogs over the years, and as we now live in an apartment that does not allow pets, we really look forward to our housesitting positions that include them. We are both responsible and respectful and look forward to meeting and looking after your beloved pets while you are on holiday . Over the last 6 yrs we have looked after dogs, cats and chickens and as we are active enjoy the exercise for us and the animals. As we now have a lot of time on our hands, we thought this is a great way to see our beautiful country. We will have no problem getting references and always treat your home as our own We are shortly sitting for one of them for the 5th time. We hopefully look forward to meeting you and your pets in the future and hope that you will consider us as your housesitters. Brenda and Mike Dring

Looking forward to chatting more about looking after your place and pets!

Eight years ago, we decided to have a change of lifestyle. We sold our backpackers hostel and bought a large caravan because we love new areas to explore. In the past we have had corporate careers, managed holiday parks, and been custodians/cooks at a ski lodge. We have had dogs (sadly no longer) and have lived with family on their lifestyle block looking after the chooks, goat and dog. We still love caravan life but would also like to try the housesitting experience in different parts of NZ. (If you have a spare spot for us to put our caravan whilst we look after your property with tender loving care then that would be a real bonus but not a necessity.) As housesitters we would ensure that you would come back to your home after you have been away and find your pets (if you have them) well-loved and your home as you left it.

I am retired and recently widowed. I am Christian and go to church every week. I'm in my 70's and rent a one bedroom unit in Hamilton, however I enjoy a change in my environment and enjoy looking after pets and gardens to keep myself busy. I have daughters who live in Hamilton and Auckland and would love to house sit in those areas to visit them. I am very pedantic and tidy and love looking after other people's property like it's is my own. I love animals and am very happy to care for them.

I am a mature single lady. I am going to be in between homes for a few months so thought I would house sit so as not to impose too much on family and friends. I have house sat in the past mainly for friends. I have my own cat William and my sister has kindly agreed to look after him during this time. If you decide to have me house sit for you, you can expect your home and pet(s) to be well looked after. I am happy to water plants, mow lawns etc.

Hello there! We are a married, semi-retired professional couple in our early 60’s. We are looking for house sitting opportunities across New Zealand. Hi I am John, I am 63 years old, retired and living in Whanganui moved backfromKerikeri 2020. I was brought up in Masterton and have always had a love for animals. As a child I had Gold Fish and built a Bird Aviary and bred Budgies, Canaries and Quail. Over the school holidays if we weren't away I would feed my friend's and family pets if they were on holiday. I have had cats most of my life and when I moved to Keri keri owned several lifestyle blocks and had beef dry stock, a pet Goat and a dog and a I also looked after neighbour's properties when they were away, so chooks, sheep are lovey to look after also. I have had a dog for most of my time up here in the north. I have spent the last 5 years looking after properties in Opua which were on Book a Bach. I had nothing but good feed back about how clean the properties were from the guests. During my working life I was in sales and I am a good people person and I treated my job as it is was my own business and 90 percent of my sales were repeat business or referals. That is what I aim to achieve with this house sitting venture. Your pets will get to know me as you will and it will make your holiday more enjoyable knowing that they are in good care with a familiar face. I love overseas travel but don't spend enough time travelling around our beautiful country. This will give me the best of both worlds . I look forward to being able to look after your pets and property for you.

Hello everyone, my name is Rahui. I am 21 years old. I am Deaf but I can hear a little bit. I am friendly and calm. I graduated with a Certificate and a Diploma from AUT (Auckland University of Technology). I can sign (NZSL via New Zealand Sign Language) and read English. Sometimes I can hear and speak English. I hope everyone will be okay with me. My motivation for house-sitting is to look after the things and pets of other people since I respect their privacy. I am a cat lover, and I like dogs. I do not drink or smoke while looking after a pet(s). If dogs need to go for a walk, I'll be happy. I cared for my friend's two dogs for a week while they were away in Australia. It was a good experience to take care of dogs. I will be happy treating dogs and cats well!! Nice to meet you all!! Thanks, Rahui

Hiya, I'm Fin, a 35 year old Environmental scientist and Marine biologist currently working for the government - MPI (Biosecurity). Absolutely love dogs hence getting into MPI to work alongside sniffer dogs. I live a pretty quiet lifestyle so I tend to enjoy my time walking, at the gym, yoga, Pilates and swimming, and heading out to explore new coffee shops. When not housesitting, I am at my parents home looking after their two highly active rambunctious dogs. We go out exploring, paddleboarding and adventuring discovering our lovely backyard here in Auckland. I love walking dogs and am used to working with large dogs so am comfortable around strong dogs that may need constant watching, as well as little dogs who love cuddles. I am clean, tidy and respectful and would love to hear from you for long term (5 days +) sits. Any questions, please feel free to get in touch :)

I have my own business and can work from anywhere which means I spend a large majority of my days at home. I am a single mother of two teenage girls. They are both at boarding school in Auckland. I've recently sold my house on Waiheke Island and am enjoying the freedom of house/pet sitting. I am reliable, clean, tidy, quiet, enjoy my own company and LOVE being around animals. I will mostly be house sitting on my own however have listed as a family as it's possible one or both of my daughters may join at times. Can be pre arranged with owner. Whilst I am fairly new to house/animal sitting I am a lifelong lover of animals. Over the years I've had cats, a dog, goats and chickens. I've spent the last 7 years on a journey of personal/spiritual development which has evolved into my work. I'm passionate about shamanic healing, consciousness, herbal medicine and human behaviour. Feel free to check out my website: www.alchemaehealing.co.nz. I'm looking forward to exploring time in different parts of our beautiful country and spending time with your beloved animals.

Thank you for taking an interest in my profile. General: I am a home owner myself, a home in which I have had rented tenants and house sitters (and pets) and hence I understand the absolute need to have a clean, tidy, mature and responsible person looking after your home and pets. I am able to tick all the boxes when it comes to maintaining your home and caring for your pets and can supply a clean Ministry of Justice Criminal Check certificate if requested. I am Retired, (Early Retirement @ 60), very Fit and Mature with no need to go out to work and no need to work from home, (i.e. much time for your pets). I am also an experienced Home Owner, (Brisbane), an experienced Animal Lover, and ex-Healthcare Professional, hence I believe I can offer you all you wish for, (and what I would require), in a House Sitter i.e. plenty of time to spend with your pets and much experience in looking after a home. Being a fitness freak I love long walks and love to do so with the company of any dogs I am caring for. Personal History: I have taken early retirement from my role as a Healthcare Professional (Pharmacist), Leadership consultant, and Fitness professional (my hobby) to : -1. spend more time with and helping my family (3 sons) and their families in Queensland and Hawkes Bay, and to; -2. travel around and explore New Zealand and Australia. I am an Australian Citizen (Brisbane) and New Zealand Permanent Resident. My largest house sit was a farm sit where not only was I responsible for the farm-house and Veggie Garden, but also 3 dogs, 3 cats, 7 sheep, 3 Goats, 2 bunnies, numerous chickens and ducks, 4 miniature horses, 6 doves and two aviaries, and also responsible for keeping an eye on the elderly Granny living on a separate dwelling on the farm!! All survived my care! I look forward to hearing from you, Kind Regards, Blair

A recently returning NZ’r I am keen to learn more of my own country, and house / pet sitting seems ideal. I love animals and am a fit and active non-smoker. I grew up in Whitianga on 7.5 acres, with 2 bullocks, c30 sheep, ducks, chickens, 2 goats, lizards, cats, dogs and fish. I was lucky to be able to ride my friends horses. I have cared for many friends pets and houses over the years and am completely house-trained, honest and reliable, as well as very practical. I’ve looked after many types of dogs, some who need hour long walks twice a day, to those more sedate due to age, so we slow down and do what’s managable. Some have needed special diets, or simple medication and are taking life carefully. I’ve helped out at The Doggery in Taupaki- as per my reference. I’m single, very capable and practical, sensible, now living in NZ, and have my own transport (car and bike), and AA membership. I drive manual and auto if you wish your pet to be in their own car. I’m a trained first aider although my certificate is not current at the moment (I’ll update it when I can). I’d love to look after your fur family whilst you are on holiday and hope you will get in touch. best Julie-Anne

I'm generally adventurous, I grew up as a farmer's daughter, so I appreciate animals and the environment. I have two adult children, one nearby in New Plymouth and the other in Australia. I recently returned from Australia where I had one house-sitting position and three woofing placements. My main past times are gardening, riding my electric bike, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the years I've had numerous significant pets. My first was a calf that I cared for and trained. Because of my fondness for her, my Father kept her until I was seventeen when I went to the Waikato to qualify as a Nurse. Another pet I was particularly fond of was a canary, which sang beautifully and I called him Gusto. Unfortunately, he died during covid. More recently I had a stray cat that determinedly made herself home with me. Pets are great companions and I appreciate them very much. I began house-sitting before retirement, and have cared for cats and dogs, plus a few sheep and a donkey. These situations have been for family, friends, and acquaintances for periods of almost a week to a month.

Our family lives in Mangawhai Heads. We have a large dog (10 years), an elderly cat (18.5 years!), a pig & 5 chickens. When I housesit, my son comes to stay on weekdays. He loves animals as much as I do and is very tidy and responsible. My husband and I are a professional couple, both working full time. Since the pandemic started we have been able to work from home. My husband holds the fort at our place in Mangawhai whilst I housesit in Auckland. As I do not need to attend the office, I will be able to keep your pets company and I am able to walk / them care for them during the day. I have been surrounded by pets all my life and I will look after them and your home like they were my own. My son will come join me on the housesit as he attends school in Auckland at St Kentigern College. He plays a lot of sport so it is an opportunity for him to have a shorter commute time from his practice and games. He will be in Year 12 in 2023. Thanks Andrea

Hello, I am Sophie, I’m in my early thirties. I have pet-sit and house-sit off and on for years. I genuinely love animals and respect people's homes. I work as a writer, photographer and recipe developer. Sometimes I work predominantly from home, other times I go into photoshoots, depending on which job I am on. Through house-sitting I've had the pleasure of 'living' in different parts of Auckland and 'adopting' beloved pets. In Bayswater I had Barley – a good natured poodle-retriever who I have a soft spot for. In Snells Beach I looked after Rocky (Shitzu) who snored on my bed and took me for beach walks. I also looked after the free-range hens. In Papakura I had no pets, but I cleaned the pool and raked leaves from the mighty oak trees, and enjoyed exploring the surroundings. In Te Henga/Bethells Beach I looked after Murphy (twice) – a nineteen year old gentle cat that kept me company and slept by the fire, as well as fish and free-range chooks. The hardest part of house-sitting is having to leave the animals afterwards. I am an animal person at heart, I love to experience the joy and devotion of dogs and cats. At present I am not in a position to own a pet, so looking after one is the next best thing. I take the responsibility of looking after someone's 'fur children' very seriously, as well as being in their treasured home. I consider myself reliable, responsible and very respectful. I hope to leave your house as clean (or cleaner) then when you left it, and your pet(s) happy and well looked after. I am an avid gardener and am happy to spend time in the garden – tending to and watering a vegetable garden would be a wonderful bonus. If you choose me to be your house/ pet sitter then I am very happy to communicate via whatsapp, text or email. I can communicate daily or weekly, whatever works best for you. Please do feel free to contact me for a chat or a visit. Warm regards, Sophie Merkens

My name is Roman Telford, am 32 working as a freelance web developer and also have been working as a chef in a woodfired pizzeria. I work remotely from home and usually work anywhere between 7am-5pm. I am currently traveling and WWOOFing on Great Barrier Island, am coming back to Auckland in the next couple weeks and thought house sitting over the summer period would work well as I settle back into Auckland life. I haven't house sit through an app like this, but over the years have always house sit friends and families homes. Having grown up with cats and dogs, fish and rabbits, I get along with animals well and love taking dogs for walks. I do some volunteering at some community gardens in Auckland so am able to take care of the gardens as well, some of the gardens I volunteer at have poultry and livestock so I have quite basic experience around them as well. People can expect to come back to a well looked after and clean home, as well as happy and healthy pets and gardens. Would love to send photos and updates of the animals to their owners while they are away too!

Hello there! I have been with The Housesitting Co since 2012 and love the variety of animals I get to look after. I packed up my own home and placed it all in storage and am now concentrating on house sitting full time to take care of your pets, as if they were my own. My name is Julie age 65 I am newly retired after 18 years in real estate and I would consider myself to be a mature, single adult with no dependents, as my boys have grown up and moved on. Over the years of housesitting, I have looked after, cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits, goats, sheep, mice, rats, and fish. So much variety, and so much fun. My years in real estate, will be an asset for the care of your home. As a family we have owned Jack Russells, English Bull Terrior, cats, mice, rats, canaries, finches and was brought up with tropical fish for most of my life. I would consider myself a private person, no more parties, just the quiet life for me To sit amongst family of pets is my ideal. Every animal is different, there are no two pets that have the same quirks. Looking after your loved ones is now my lifestyle choice and I love it. I get to meet, sit, walk and love so many pets, it really is a lovely way of feeling loved. It is always hard to leave them behind as I feel Ihave grown a bond with them. Your house will be well looked after and kept clean at all times. I will water your plants, feed your pets, walk your dogs, tweet with the birds, blow bubbles at the fish and collect your mail. I always leave your home better than when I arrived. If you are looking for a single mature person with flexible hours, who will give a lot of love to your loved ones, then I'm your lady. I look forward to hearing from you. Julie.

My partner George and I are currently living in Raglan so we can be closer to family since COVID-19 hit the world. George is retired from the film industry as a camera technician originally from the UK and extremely well travelled. He is very active and interested in skiing, golf, surf, tennis and anything that doesn't require him to get into a boat. I am a former secondary teacher and film industry veteran and also love travel, food and wine. We have lived in Queenstown, Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland and Gisborne and have owned cats, dogs, ducks and sheep. We are currently tenants as we try to find our next home and have been landlords in the past. We have used house sitters and been house sitters so we have had experience from both perspectives. One of the main reasons we would like to house sit is to spend time with different pets. Due to our desire to travel more we decided not to get any pets and I am missing being around animals. Your pets will be happy to have our attention and company all day. We are happy to house sit in any area and have experience with both small and large dogs and cats. We look forward to meeting you sometime in the future. Thanks Karen & George

I am a 35yr old single female, and am a pet lover. Growing up I had cats and more recently a German Shepherd dog, who was my best mate for 11 years until he passed a few years ago. I really miss having pets around so would love to take care of your fur babies for you. I have recently moved to Tauranga from Auckland and my work schedule is flexible currently. Depending what is required for the housesit I usually can schedule my days to not be out all day long, so if your pets are used to company and you don’t want them left alone for extensive periods of time, then my schedule would be suitable. And I enjoy walking so I have plenty of time for dog walks if needed. I’m extremely house proud and clean & tidy. I love to travel and every year or two I spend 2-3 months traveling overseas. My latest trip was 3 months around SE Asia at the end of last year.

We are working professionals based in Auckland. We are currently waiting on our new build home to be completed. Due to delays we have taken the opportunity to do some more travel and house sit where possible. We both love animals, and will treat peoples pets with love and care. We have looked after dogs, cats, cows, sheep and even alpacas! As we are in the process of waiting for our own home, we understand how important peoples property is to them, we will treat locations with the highest levels of respect and make sure things are well maintained. We will make sure owners are communicated with to a level they set. Both of us work flexibly, splitting our time between offices in the CBD and our home base, meaning we can be present in your home for periods throughout the day and the house and animals are not left alone throughout the week. Happy to answer any questions you may have, Talia + Adam

Hi! My name is Ashleigh Rigby, and I am 30. I'm a consumer scientist from South Africa who is in New Zealand at the moment. I'm looking into housesitting because my profession is that of hospitality management and the area is tourism-based and I love animals! I have plenty of work experience in managing hotels, country houses, lodges and restaurants and I have done house and pet-sitting since I was a young teenager in my beautiful home city of Hilton , Midlands Meander in South Africa. I have grown up in a pet-loving family, and have experience in all pets from fish, birds, hamsters, Guinee pigs, farm animals, dogs, and reptiles! I am travelling alone whilst taking a break and looking for work in a specific area. Due to my circumstances, I am looking for longer time period of a housesit. I'm a very stay-at-home-mommy type of girl! My most recent housesit was in November 2022, in South Africa where I looked after a lovely little kitten called Tiggy! If you are the kind of owner who loves getting pictures of your animal doing cute things everyday, I'm in! Or, if you prefer to know that your pet is well cared for once a week, then it's fine with me. I will adjust to your needs and let you know exactly what is happening when you require it. I am always available on my phone and easily contactable. I will treat your animals as my own, as I am extremely aware and can relate to the love that your animal requires! I know from experience it can be nerve-wracking to leave a pet with a stranger, so I can assure you that I will look after your animal with the greatest care. If you don't have pets, that's okay! Due to my employment industry mainly involving running hotels, I live a sober, clean and pristine life! I take care of furniture, I make sure to respect the value of household items and I am mindful of electricity usage and water restrictions. My mum would definitely back me up in saying that I take after her when looking after a home. It's your pride and Joy, and it will be mine too. You can expect complete transparency and clear communication with me. Should I notice anything out of the norm, I will make sure to contact you immediately. I am honest, and will be grateful to have the opportunity to live in your home whilst you are away. I hope this gives you a sense of who I am! Have a lovely day, and I look forward to hearing from you.

We are retired, love animals and love travelling and exploring our beautiful country. We have completed several housesitting jobs both here and overseas caring for cats and dogs. We treat each house as our own and love the animals as our own. We are honest and reliable. We are fit and active, cycling and walking and kayaking are our main interests. We enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and have travelled extensively overseas.

Kia ora, My name is Phoebe. I am a 25y/o who recently graduated as a primary school teacher from Victoria University, Wellington. I love animals and have a responsible and kind nature. I am exploring areas and schools doing relief work around Auckland and Bay of Plenty to find a school I love and want to work at. So if I stay at your home I will most likely teach at your local schools to find out about the area! I am doing on-call casual relief work, which is relatively short hours 8:30-3:30pm, and on some days I will be at home if I am not booked for relieving. My work experience includes 5+ years doing private home cleaning as my part time job outside of Uni and school, so I promise to keep your home spotless. Infact, you might even find your house cleaner than when you left it! I also worked at Wellington Zoo in 2022- which truly had the most rigorous and animal-focussed application process I have ever come across- so I can assure you that your pet will be in good and experienced hands. My hobbies and interests include yoga, walking, animals, nature, reading, music, and dancing. I look forward to hearing from you, Nga mihi | kind regards, Phoebe

Hello, I'm a single 39 year old paediatric physio who is looking to change careers and get into film. My contract at Waitakere hospital finishes at the end of December and I plan to have a break during January. I own a small unit which I rent out on Airbnb and need to be near to clean it etc. I would love to own animals of my own (especially a dog), but as I travel a lot and don’t have a good space I think it'd be unfair on them at this stage. I would enjoy looking after any animals if you have any especially a dog for my daily runs/walks. My spare time could be spent on a run/walk/yoga, heading out to a beach or bush, helping out at a community garden, hanging out with friends or relaxing into a few hours of reading/ photography. More of a home body his year and have a bit of work to do on the change of career side of things. I am a very clean, tidy person and probably would be more than usual if living in someone else's house. I'd love to do a bit of gardening as well.

Hello, we are Lynne and Bob Mitchener. Our working lives began as a registered nurse (Lynne) and an electrician (Bob). Since then we have also worked for non-profit trusts and in the hospitality industry. Our last job, from which we have now retired from was managing a rural retreat centre on ten acres, where we took care of the bookings, looked after the cleaning of the house, the maintenance and grounds. We come with a wealth of practical experience to care for your home and pets. We have cared for cats, dogs, hens and sheep. One lovely pet -sit we had was Harry, a gorgeous little wire-haired foxy cross. We looked after him for three months, and declared that when we eventually retire in our own home, we will find a dog like Harry. However, we are open to falling in love with new varieties, and look forward to caring for your dogs and see them work their charm on us. We have included a photo of Millie, the black labrador with the guilty look on her face. She invited us to her home for one month, about five years back, while her owners were overseas, and we enjoyed the daily walks she took us on to the local beach, where she wanted to play chase the ball until she dropped!! Before her owners went away they gave her a stuffed toy, and told us that it would be "stuffed" before they came home! Three weeks into the house sit, the beloved stuffed toy was still intact, but alas, in the final week, we came home to this mess!!! Oh well, at least we were warned!!! As for cats, we love all and every variety, but are especially partial to ginger moggies. They are so smart. We retired from full time work in April 2017, did a 3 month house sit in Otaki where we looked after a fabulous soft coated wheaten terrier called Lulu, two cats, and 12 chooks! In september 2017 we moved to Taupo where we have retired, and renovating up our home. Two years after this, we were contacted by the owners of lovely Lulu, to tell us they were moving to a retirement village and werent able to take Lulu, so they were needing to rehouse her, sadly. The next four and a bit years were a lovely history for us, as Lulu joined our household and brought much pleasure and joy to our lives. Sadly she is now passed on, so we are available for housesits once again. Our main priority is, we have family in Auckland, and whangapora, so we are especially interested in short housesits in both these places, to catch up with family and friends, especially our new grandson in Stanmore bay. We have done lots of house and pet sitting before, both in NZ and the UK and will look after your home and pets as if our own. We are both creative, caring people, we enjoy reading, walking, cycling, movies and spending time with our friends and family. We have enjoyed cycling the Otago rail trail, the Hauraki rail trail, the old coach road trail and the timber trail. Lynne is a writer and Bob is an artist, he has won several awards for his work. We are a quiet, discreet caring couple and will do everything we can to look after your home and special pets. Thanks for reading our profile, we hope to meet you soon!

Jess and Loz here! We’re here to tell you why we’d be great house sitters. Jess: I’m creative in my spare time, when I’m not working as a nurse. I also enjoy tramping, cycling, swimming. Things I value in others: kindness, honesty and integrity. Growing up, we had a few cats (Felix, Twinkle, Lynx and Serena). I love cats and consider it a privilege to grow up with animals. I also adore dogs. I’ve lived with dogs since leaving home and have taken care of friend’s dogs - so I understand that every dog has its special needs. Loz: I love all things Disney, and have a trip planned for later this year (at the end of August). I enjoy reading and listening to music. I’ve grown up with dogs all my life, and enjoy spending time giving animals love and attention. Having helped raise Abby (our family Golden Retriever) who lived till she was 15 and Riley (a German Shepherd) who is currently two and a half, I understand the responsibilities that come with owning dogs, and can't wait to look after your pets with the love and care they deserve. We both work part-time as energency nurses at middlemore hospital, and have so for the past 5 years. So we’ll have plenty of time at home. We loved our job but it didn’t meet our goals of being able to save for a house, so we took some time overseas and now we’re returning between mid April and beginning of June to work at home again. Lauren and I aim to buy a house in the next few years and we’re hoping house sitting will help us reach our goals. We want you to know we don’t take house sitting lightly, we’ll make sure your home and your pets are well respected and looked after. We have lots of experience house-sitting for friends and family who have cats and dogs (and even chickens), and have thoroughly enjoyed it so thought we’d put ourselves forward for more!! We’re looking forward to house sitting for you and your furry family!

Very clean, tidy responsible - well travelled single man working freelance in the film industry (based in New Zealand and London). I often have time between work projects (ranging from a week to a few months) where it would be lovely to lead more of a structured domestic lifestyle, including dog walking/pet care as I love being around animals; with plenty of experience in caring for the pets of family and friends. I am based in Wellington (NZ/UK dual citizen), but happy to consider house sitting placements across New Zealand to experience living in new areas. I have travelled around both North and South Islands extensively for work and pleasure.

My name is John Wilkinson and my wife is Lindy Smith. We are both in our 60’s, now retired after lengthy careers in teaching and secondary school leadership. At the same time as working we have enjoyed a busy family life that has always had at its core cats, dogs and the occasional guinea pig. As a couple we have always been the ‘go to’ people for house and pet care, sitting advice and support for family, friends and work colleagues. I grew up originally in England where my father bred Boxers: so dogs have been a major presence in my childhood and further as family pets throughout our 30 years here in New Zealand. (a tradition continued by our married son and his Boxer dog.) Lindy has always had cats within her family and upbringing and she was the person who introduced me to the joys of a mixed pet household when we started our first home in UK. Our ‘record’ achieved here in New Zealand is 2 cats, 2 dogs, 3 guinea pigs and various temporarily adopted four-legged friends! We are home owners who take pride in our property and would transfer that responsible care to any house we were looking after. We have traveled widely, enjoying different cultures and cuisines and we bring an energetic approach to all we do. We have used a house-sitting service successfully in the past when we had pets and thus appreciate the expectations of house owners: - that their homes will be cherished, and their pets cared for well. In our retirement we are exploring other areas of New Zealand and the world. We both enjoy an active life – cycling, walking and swimming and I have recently taken up Paddle Boarding as a hobby. We are excited by each of our house-sits and the encounters with new people, pets, places and experiences which they provide – but we are mindful of the importance of house owners feeling comfortable with entrusting their precious homes and pets to others. We would be pleased to talk with you and answer any further questions.

Greetings, I am a 56-year-old expatriate originally from the UK, currently residing in New Zealand. In 2003, I moved to this beautiful country with my Dutch partner and her 2-year-old French son Yanis. Our Kiwi son Fynn was born here a year later, and we are blessed to have a delightful dog named Max as part of our family. Our family is bilingual, and we have had the pleasure of socializing with the French community in Auckland. Additionally, I have been in business for 15 years, and I am currently in the process of selling it and preparing for a new chapter in my life. My partner and I are experiencing changes in our relationship and circumstances, and I have decided to pursue a solo lifestyle that offers the flexibility to avoid long-term commitments. House sitting is an excellent option that I am exploring, particularly since my brother in the UK has enjoyed being a serial house sitter for many years. In my leisure time, I enjoy outdoor activities, particularly hill walking with Max. Max will not be coming with me by the way. I am passionate about self-sufficient living and have experience raising chickens and pigs. Ultimately, I hope to find a smallholding or dwelling, much like a River Cottage style, where I can embrace simplicity and live off the land. In terms of hobbies, I am a pianist and guitarist, and I love meeting new people. My hope is that the connections I make through housesitting will turn into long-term friendships that I can cherish. I am excited about the possibility of meeting you and your furry friends in the future. Thank you for taking the time to read my introduction. Best regards, Lee

Hi there, My name is Israel, and I'm 36 years old, and my partner Fauhane is 31. We are a Brazilian couple. I have been working as a painter and decorator in NZ for 8 years for a nationwide company, and that gave me the privilege to work and discover a huge part of New Zealand. Fauh has studied Physical Education in Brazil, and she's now a teacher aide on a school for children with special needs. We both love to travel, and we're hoping to have a win-win experience here. Helping others to travel while we provide peace of mind to them, taking care of their house and pets for a couple of days. We are a warm-hearted and flexible south American couple, quiet in general, clean, and like to be organized. We enjoy exercising, watching movies, reading books, playing games (especially board games for Fauh), talking to our family and friends through the web is also a good part of our fun, discovering new places, being in contact with nature (especially with animals) and maintaining the practice of meditation. We also like to have a healthy life as much as possible. We do not smoke, but we do drink socially, though. We don't own any pets here in NZ yet, but we grew up with plenty of them in the family. We do believe that a good state of mind and spirit impact their behaviour directly. So we try our best to understand the pets and have a good relationship with them. We aim to give great attention to your requirements and needs to make sure your pets and home are well cared, and you can enjoy your holiday with peace of mind. We have empathy and will take care of your home with all due respect. I look forward to meeting you and your pets very soon! PS: We've had both shots of the vaccine. Best wishes and keep safe! Israel&Fauhane;

I am 67 but still feel like I’m in my 40s. I enjoy keeping fit. I hike, swim, love walking my daughter's labrador on the beach most mornings, l paddle board when condictions are right and practise yoga. As a child I grew up with Ponty the dog then Kim a Golden Spaniel, we also had Whiskers the cat. They were my buddies and were part of the games we played in the back yard. My biggest love was horses and my dapple grey horse called Centennial. John has a love for all animals too and grew up with Shep the border collie, in his adolescence he had pigeons . I volunteer for Riding For The Disabled and absolutely love it. The difference you see in the confidence of the children that are participating is very heart warming. We are confident with handling farm animals. I love animals any size, colour, hairy, bald, old or young and especially their individual personalities. Our first house sitting experience we looked after Ian and Debbie Shuttleworths house and rescue dog named Heney for 6 months while the owners went back home to England. The second was sitting a friend's house Dean and Nancy for the winter while they were in Australia. We will respect your property, keep the yards tidy, mow lawns etc, most importantly the house will be kept spotless and the pets will be loved as if they were our own.

We're an honest and trustworthy hard working professional couple living in Auckland. Having now lived in NZ for over 15 years we have a network of friends and family throughout the country who we like to visit when we find the opportunity. Our reason for exploring house sitting is to hopefully be of service to similar people like ourselves who like to do a bit of travel. Therefore giving them the peace of mind to have a worry free time away from their own property and pets, knowing they're in safe and capable hands. Over the years we have always utilised friends for any longer term house sitting requirements and in the past have been house sitters for overseas property investors. We quite often look after the pets of our friends when they go on holiday. You can expect your property to be looked after as if it were our own. To always be in the same condition as you left it and if required we quite enjoy doing a bit of pottering in the garden.
