Greetings, Im Chrissy, living in Tauranga, loving my coastal lifestyle and this city. Im a mother of three, grandmother of two, and mum to my ginger tom Geppy. Although I live with my daughter & her fiance I need my own space at times and find house sitting almost like a retreat, where I can enjoy solitude, and my art & yoga practice. Im interested in design and decor, and appreciate the creative expression of peoples homes and gardens. A beautiful house I sat in last year was a riverside property, with lovely views of water and trees. The two dogs Jasper and Toto were alot of fun.. My recent sit, in Turiko, required care of chickens and lawns, both of which I tended with care. As a sitter I live quietly. Because I love home Ill be at yours most of the time. If you have gardens Ill do a spot of weeding, am happy to mow lawns, and generally keep indoors and out neat and tidy. I walk most days and enjoy walking dogs, perferring smaller breds. Youll return home to find your house exactly as you left it, and if time permits, a casserole in the fridge and fruit bowl on the bench. Your home will welcome you back.

Hello there, My name is Donna and I'm a 60 year old mother of three children. I grew up in the Hutt Valley and have spent most of my life in the Wellington/Wairarapa area. For the past 10 years, I've been a healthcare assistance at a number of retirement villages in the Wellington region. While not working, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, going for bush walks and reading a good novel. I've previously done the odd house sit for friends and family, however with my children having all now left home and coming up to retirement, I'm keen to look at housesitting more frequently. I love animals and our family has all grown up with both cats and dogs. Since a young age, we owned family dogs with the first being Budda who was a Lab x Dobberman and the most recent being Bella who was a Border Collie x Irish Settler. I'm generally adventurous, I grew up as a farmer's daughter, so I appreciate animals and the environment. I have two adult children, one nearby in New Plymouth and the other in Australia. I recently returned from Australia where I had one house-sitting position and three woofing placements. My main past times are gardening, riding my electric bike, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the years I've had numerous significant pets. My first was a calf that I cared for and trained. Because of my fondness for her, my Father kept her until I was seventeen when I went to the Waikato to qualify as a Nurse. Another pet I was particularly fond of was a canary, which sang beautifully and I called him Gusto. Unfortunately, he died during covid. More recently I had a stray cat that determinedly made herself home with me. Pets are great companions and I appreciate them very much. I began house-sitting before retirement, and have cared for cats and dogs, plus a few sheep and a donkey. These situations have been for family, friends, and acquaintances for periods of almost a week to a month.

I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. We are semi-retired and are keen to visit different parts of the country and explore at our leisure. We have had a cat or cats in our lives for the last 30 plus years and recently had to have our 19 year old cat put to sleep which saddened us greatly. We had a dog many years ago and Colin had dogs prior to our relationship. We are kind and know how much animals/pets are a huge part of the family and are much loved. We know we always worried about our animals when away and how important it was to us to know they were well cared for. We are both employed on a casual, part time basis, Colin as Bar Manager at the Waipa Workingmen's Club and as a school bus driver. Chrissy has a contract with the Hamilton City Council serving on their District Licensing Committee. We are a semi-retired couple who like to take breaks away from our busy life in Raglan. I have various volunteer roles here, plus grandchildren, and Robin is a trauma therapist working from home - he retired from a medical career in 2020. We have used house sitters for our own home when we used to travel overseas for work and appreciated the security it gave us while we were away, knowing that our home and pets would be lovingly cared for. We would be very happy to provide this for other people. We are both very clean and tidy - we take pride in having a lovely comfortable home. My husband is also very handy (he also has an engineering background which helps here) and can usually fix almost anything! I love to cook, and enjoy gardening, walking and exploring new places. We also enjoy reading and various crafts. We have a cat, and three chickens at the moment. We have had a dog in the past (a beautiful border collie) but he passed away some time ago and because we were travelling a fair bit at that time we haven't got another dog.

My old cat required a daily diabetes injection and regular blood sugar tests so I am happy to carry out this if required. I love gardening so am happy to do any required. We will care for the owner's home as we would our own. I was born in Christchurch. I lived 26 yrs in NZ and now 40+ in California. I go home to NZ once or twice a year. I have just said goodby to my 15 year old Mini Pinscher that I rescued at 1yr old. He was very active and we walked twice a day. I volunteered for the Golden Retriever rescue for 6 years interviewing adopters, walking the goldens, and picking up very frightened golden's from shelters to bring into our rescue. I have always had a cat, the biggest love of them was 19 when he passed on. I have a 5 yr old rescue black cat. I also grew up with chooks. I am a competent horse rider and will consider looking after most animals. Would love to throw on my gum boots and head out to the paddock to cover a horse or move an animal to another paddock. I am a Scottish country dancer and like to walk, garden, read and knit. I am willing to go anywhere in NZ and would prefer a rural setting. I am looking forward to my next trip to be a Kiwi for a few months this year from early Sept 2025 - Jan 2026.

At heart, I’m a bit of a homebody, I love pottering around the house, cooking nourishing meals, sewing, crocheting, painting and drawing, and watching a good documentary. In July we are returning after 5 years working in Bangkok at an international school. Before we left NZ we sold our home and did 3 house sits before leaving the country. They all went very well. Upon arriving back we will be house sitting, with current bookings, from mid-July until early January. From that point on we are looking to add future house sits. We have lived in and cared for our own home, property and pets for many, many years and as such believe we would be ideal candidates to look after someone else's home. With the family overseas, often our time away has been for up to 3 months, and on those occasions we have had friends and others staying at our home. Kia ora Introduction of who we are, Jen and Don Smart, we live in New Plymouth in our house we built 5 years ago. Both born and bred here but have lived in many places, more recently Wanganui and Wellington. Jen works as an Office Manager, for the last 6 plus years. Don has recently retired and spends his time building and maintenance around the section. Our interests are gymming, biking, walking, swimming, learning Te Reo, volunteer work in Community cafe, listening to music, entertaining and life in general! Jen runs the community cafe and a support group for Motor Neurone Disease. More importantly are our fur babies! We are now down to one older male cat, Rimu, who is 18 this year and still in great shape. Our little dog Maisie died of old age last year at the age of 17yrs. We miss her daily walks and being our 'grandchild' as we don't have any! Over the years we have had many animals as we ran a lifestyle block in Wanganui which had sheep, lambs, cattle, a dexter cow, chooks, a german shepherd, a cat, and not to forget...bees. But being vegetarian none of the animals were killed to be eaten, most died of old age eventually! When we moved back to New Plymouth we had three cats and Maisie the dog but now down to the one boy. Eventually no doubt once Rimu is gone we will look at another animal as we have always had them in our lives. Our reason for house sitting? Our only child, Madeleine, 27yrs old, has moved back to Wellington and we like to visit often but it's good to have our own space when there. We tend to go for walks and bike rides when we visit and swims at the Freyberg. We did use a b n b a couple of times but felt a bit intrusive. The thought of looking after someone else's pets and have somewhere to stay sounded inviting to us. Plus going forward we would like to spend more time around Aotearoa New Zealand and going forward it might be a rewarding thing to do. Hope this small blurb tells you a bit about us. I have over 20 years of full-time dairy farming behind me, 14 of those years in sole charge management of dairy farms, so I’m the ideal minder for house sitting/farm sitting/relief milking combos. I have also worked with sheep, goats, and drystock cattle. On past house-sits and farm-sits I have looked after a wide variety of animal and bird life including cats, dogs, deer, cattle, sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, alpacas, rabbits, chooks, ducks, turkeys, doves, and frogs. I’m particularly fond of cats – you won’t find a better cat sitter. I’m a non-smoker and a quiet individual who is not into boozing, parties, and noise. I’m also a confessed homebody who prefers pottering around the property as opposed to galavanting about the countryside, so the homes and animals in my care are under constant watch. Clean, trustworthy, tidy, practical, adaptable, and with a good ounce of common sense, initiative and No.8 wire mindset. No task is too big or small. I bring to every house sit a professional attitude and a quiet and calming disposition that soon wins over the most timid of pets. I enjoy what I do and I take a lot of pride in my work. During my stay at your place, I will be in regular contact with updates along with photos and video clips of your pets so you can be assured they’re getting well looked after, if not a little spoiled. I cover all my own groceries, gas, and I have my own transport, complimented with a clean driver licence. Under my contents insurance I’m covered for legal liability in case of any accidental damage. In all my years of house sitting, I have never had to use that insurance. Nevertheless it’s there – for peace of mind for both parties. I also have two rental houses of my own. I thus know what it’s like to hand the keys over to other people, and trusting them to look after your property while they’re living there. My preferred locations are rural and coastal properties, though I do enjoy the occasional suburban assignment for a change. I don’t charge a cent to look after houses, pets, or lifestyle blocks. I never have and I never will. For me, house sitting is all about the lifestyle. My ‘payment’ comes in the form of free accommodation, free use of the utilities, and free access to the vegetable garden and orchard. I can’t justify charging fees on top of all that. The only times I would invoice the home owners is if I’m looking after a commercial business of theirs, such as a Bed & Breakfast, orchard, or working farm, or if I’m undertaking some ‘improvement’ projects for them, such as painting the wooden deck or planting new trees – things like that. With over 19 years experience under my belt, there’s very little about house sitting I don’t know. It's only relatively recently that I joined the House Sitting Company, but I have loads of verifiable references, with nearly 60 reviews on another house sitting website. We are very caring by nature and very frequently visit friends farms in Wanganui who have a wide range of pets/farm animals which our girls love to experience. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. Recently my 15 coloured sheep and their new lambs have been sold. Caring for others (humans and animals) is what I do best.. Until his recent death I cared for my 86 yr old family friend who had health problems. This enabled him to remain living in his own home. We are a professional couple taking time out from work to travel and spend time with family. We are 58 and 59-years-old, have been married for 39 years and have three grown up children. We have over 15 years experience caring for and loving pets whilst their Mum and Dad are away. Over these years we have been in lots of different house/pet-sitting situations. One of our first pet sits was for a gorgeous old Collie dog who had diabetes and needed daily injections. He also had two sisters who were cats and we looked after them all for many years. We started house sitting over ten years ago as a friend had 7 cats and was travelling for five months. We have cared for these cats over many years since. During this time, we have had to give medication, visit the vet and as the years progressed look after their personal care needs much more. We have also sat for three dogs for many years; a black Labrador, Chihuahua and a Border Terrier. We are both extremely, kind, loving and practical and have ensured that pets are cared for in the same way we care for our own pets. We treat your babies the same way as we treat our own, giving them our time and immense affection and kindness. We are both at home all day so can give your pets all the attention they need. We love animals and have also spent some time helping look after pigs, hens and horses. I was a Trustee for a small city farm and my husband managed areas of the same farm. We are asked again and again to house sit because we are careful to keep your house beautiful and send regular pictures and updates of how happy your pets are. I always cook a meal for the returning home owner and replenish their fridge. My husband is extremely able around the house and land and people are happy to see their grounds kept well. I am a very fit and active retiree. I left the workforce eight years ago to travel to various parts of the world, including some of NZ which I hadn’t yet been to. I have been involved in sport all my life and interested in organics and sustainabilities for many years, so decided to become a Woofer (Willing Worker On Organic Farms). I have thoroughly enjoyed all my placements in NZ, Australia, USA and Portugal. I have visited places and met people that I would never had the chance as a tourist and learnt about growing fruits, vegetables and raising animals in an totally organic and sustainable manner. I have looked after many animals and learnt how to give back to the land for future harvests. Six years ago in 2018 I bought a lifestyle property in the Far North, so have not been able to travel as much, or house sit as I used to, while working hard on my land. Now however I have more spare time, & look forward to being able to travel in NZ. I currently work on my orchard of 100+ trees of every description imaginable, & 4 large vegetable plots. I farm totally organically, eat in season, & am self sufficient(++) with fruit, vegetables & eggs from my 5 chickens. I am able to swap my excesses for milk, meat, cheese & bread! I feel very fortunate. I also have extra acreage which I use for growing grass, (local farmer makes hay in summer). I have also done two caminos (long walks) in both France, and Portugal into Spain. These were 750 and 700km respectively, in 2014 & 2017. My most recent was from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. I have been a proud homeowner since 1980. As a house sitter, you will have someone with old fashion values of care & respect for your property, a good work ethic, totally reliable & honest. As for pets, when my children were growing up, we had a Staffordshire bull terrier, rabbits, cats, cockatiel and baby goats. Currently I have 5 chickens. While woofing I have looked after lots of dogs, cats, goats (learnt to milk), chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, and loved all those times. My woofing hosts would sometimes leave me to house sit at weekends, or in one case, for 10 days when an unavoidable event happened. On that occasion I looked after a small farmlet of goats, cows chickens, vegetable garden, orchard....the entire property. I loved the challenge and was totally equal to the task of overall management. I love outdoors work. Obviously I enjoy walking, so dogs love me for their twice daily long walks. Hi - we're Amanda and Gavin, We would love the opportunity to take a break away from work in Hawkes Bay and get away to enjoy animals. Living in a small flat on a busy road we're unable to have any ourselves. We both grew up with pets. At a school age Amanda trained Portia their beloved family dog and went on to train other dog owners and also thoroughly enjoy agility. Her father taught Peter their budgie, to kick a ping pong ball through a toilet roll and may have passed some of this patience on to her. Gavin grew up with cats, dogs, guinea pigs, chickens and also loved the sheep next door. I house sat for 2 years 2000-2002 minding cats and dogs and keeping the owners house up to scratch. I was often recalled when the home owners were away. I'm honest, trustworthy and reliable. I held a responsible position for 21 years as PA to a high profile NZ'er until retiring in 2021. I've travelled extensively over the years - lived in the UK for the usual two year OE in my twenties, then was seconded to Singapore for a further two years in 1998. As we are a dog friendly hotel, even when I am at work I am still providing and caring for dogs. At home I take care of 3 dogs, a young puppy a middle child and a senior dog who requires extra attention. she takes regular medication which I administer and monitor. she recently had a large swelling in her face, a cyst of sorts which meant the use of other specialist antibiotics and ointments had to be used. Growing up I have never been without dogs and have lots of experience taking care of them. I am very active with them with regular walks. I love spending time with dogs and would like to have the opportunity to have this companionship along my travels. I will not be working in the time of house sitting arrangements so I will have plenty of time to spend with your pets should they be used to/need a lot of attention. we have a resident cat at the hotel as well which I am responsible for too. We came from France a month ago to discover the beautiful country of New Zealand for a year. Our goal is to purchase a van to road trip across both islands. I've babysitted a few times when I was in Highschool. I grew up with 2 cats and 1 dog (miniature Pinscher) but unfornutately, he died when I was young... My love for dogs never changed and I always though of sharing my life with them when the moment is adequate. Nadege grew up in a farm with a few cats. She use to work in the agriculture world. She is used to livestock and working/non-working dogs. Due to her field of work she has taken care of house and farm while the owners where gone which includes dog/cat/cow/goose/chickens sitting. Our lovely litlle cat Uma, which we adopt a year ago, is staying with Nadege's family at the moment as we couldn't take her with us... Both David and I grew up in cities, he in Illinois and me in Massachusetts. We met in the US Navy. David and I retired as Lieutenant Commanders from the United States Navy in 1994. Our duty stations have included Adak, Alaska; Norfolk, Virginia, Pensacola, Florida; and Honolulu, Hawaii. After retiring, I started and taught a Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Class at a Hawaii High School. We then moved to Billings, Montana, where we lived from 1996 to 2001. When our youngest of two children graduated from high school, we moved to rural Montana and built a log home, where we have lived since 2001. We have1 dog (miniature poodle), and numerous outdoor cats. I have also had birds (cockatiel, parakeet, finch & canary), guinea pigs and fish as pets. David also has a knowledge of beef cattle, goats, ducks, and chickens. My hobbies include vegetable gardening, bird watching, and needlework. David's main hobby is wood working. He works part time as a ranch hand and does odd jobs such as carpentry, plumbing and repairs. He has worked at farming for local ranches and has knowledge and can repair most farm machinery. We both spent 12 years as members of the local volunteer fire department, he as chief, and me as secretary treasurer. I also ran the weekly senior meal program in our small community for 17 years. Our son is a resident of New Zealand who met his New Zealand wife in Osan Korea. They live in Dunedin where he works at the University of Otago, and she is a teacher at a local school. This will be our fifth visit to New Zealand, and we have seen a lot of the country in the previous 3 visits. My sons' children are 20, 18, and 16. They live at the University. We would love to take care of your pets and home while you are away and while we are in NZ visiting my son and his family. We arrive the end of January 11, 2025 and will leave March 2, 2025. Hi, I am an empty nester, and would love an opportunity to house sit and look after pets. I have raised three children and over the years I have had and have cared for numerous pets. Growing up, my family had a Samoyed dog and two cats. My father was also the local dog walker and I often walked the dogs as well. Once I looked after a rabbit that needed daily injections for eight weeks . Currently, I am a house owner and I have a rental property in Auckland.I also teach full-time at a girls school and am responsible for the learning support department. With the goal of one day retiring outside of Auckland I would love an opportunity to look after someone else’s home and animals and explore other parts of the country. I am in my happy place with animals and nature and I am very fit, energetic and reliable. I enjoy road cycling, walking, yoga and swimming. My day typically starts at 5.30 am with a walk before work and finishes with another walk and sometimes yoga. At weekends, I cycle regularly 50 -70 kms for leisure. My other interests are vegetable gardening, reading and cooking. We lived and worked in Christchurch for 22 years, before moving to Papamoa 9 years ago. We have owned our own home for most of our 49 years of marriage, and have always taken pride in keeping both house and garden tidy and well maintained. As our sons were growing up, our household pets also included a cockatiel, a black-hooded rat, and 2 goldfish! We have also frequently looked after a neighbour's diabetic cat, including giving daily insulin injections. As we are retired, we have more time to devote to your pets and your home. After our last elderly dog passed away 7 years ago, we really missed having a dog in our home, so became approved volunteer puppy boarders for Blind/Low Vision puppies, and are still enjoying providing this service. Allan's parents were dairy farmers, and he loved farm life. He is an enthusiastic golfer and gardener, a Justice of the Peace, and volunteers for the Papamoa Community patrol. Jenny is also a keen gardener, enjoys both an exercise/social group and a craft group, volunteers regularly at Good Neighbour Food Rescue, and loves being involved with a Music and Movement group for preschoolers and their Mums. We both belong to Probus, and are also rostered on for several roles at our church. As we have friends and family in Christchurch and various parts of the North Island, we are excited about the prospect of house sitting when we travel to those areas, as well as when we explore new areas that we haven't yet been to. When I was married and we bought our first house, having pets was a top priority. After 3 years we had 3 cats (Tabby, Tina and Kate) and 2 Beagles (Tony and Lucy). I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. I no longer have pets of my own so I would really love the opportunity to care for yours, either outside of Auckland when I ready for a break or in Auckland for a 'staycation' I am mature, responsible, respectful and resourceful. We are 69 and 75 yrs, involved in golf croquet, bridge, Mah Jong, Bolivia, Bushy Park Wildlife Sanctuary (Board member) and the Association of Administration Professionals NZ. We enjoy walking, riding e bikes and reading, and are keen gardeners. We have travelled a lot overseas but would like to revisit a lot of areas in NZ in our retirement. For January sits only, we often have our two grandchildren with us13 and 15 years old. They have come with us for the last 5 years and this has not been a problem. In fact they help to entertain dogs who like to play and fetch ball a lot. For the past 20 years we have done 25 home exchanges mainly in USA, Australia, England, Italy, Belgium, Austria and Ireland. Some of these involved looking after pets as well as owners' homes. We have also done 30 house and pets sits in NZ and Australia. Our most recent house sits were in Perth looking after two border collies and two cats in Sept 2024, in Wellington looking after a Sydney Silkie for a week in May 2024, lifestyle blocks in New Plymouth in Jan 2024 looking after alpacas, a border collie, a labrador and a cat; in Jan 2023 another lifestyle block looking after chickens, geese, pigs, piglets, steers, cats, a border collie and fish - a complex feeding programme for this sit with the variety of animals., We have spent three weeks in Cairns in 2016 looking after Angel, a shitzu, 2 weeks in Christchurch looking after two shitzus; four weeks in Toowoomba, Brisbane in 2017 looking after a bichon, 2 weeks in Whanganui looking after a Labrador and KC the cat; and in Palmerston North, NZ looking after 2 bichons Maisie and Maggie in 2018 twice; and a Bichon and shitzhu and Burmese cat in New Plymouth, 2 labs in Te Puke in 2019 and a boxer in Christchurch for 3 weeks in 2020. More recently we have looked after Maltese/ shih zhu, border terriers, collies, pigs, geese, fish, chickens, birds, sheep and cows. All the dogs were gorgeous and loved going for walks, going out in the car and playing ball in the park. If the dogs are elderly or small we are mindful of their walking limitations. We have had cats over the years and more recently looked after our adult sons' dogs; cavoodles and a heading/pointer cross. We have also looked after cocker spaniels and labradors. Graeme is particularly fond of border collies and we would have one except we have a small section and travel a fair bit. I have been employed as a PA at the local hospital for the past 24 years and on casual project work. We are both now retired; Graeme is a handyman type and maintains our house and garden to a high standard. We have built and landscaped two homes, taking pride in keeping them well maintained. We are reliable, clean, honest and caring of pets. We are happy to take your dog(s) for walks and out with us in the car if they like car trips. We would look after your home as you would and you can be reassured things will be left as we find them. We are happy to talk to and play with your pets, mow lawns and water gardens if needed. Our daughter is married and living in Christchurch and we have one grandchild. I enjoy walking and going to daily gym classes and my husband enjoys long bike rides. We are very active. I managed a house we own as an Airbnb for over two years managing bookings per night so I know what is involved in caring for a home. I ensured our Airbnb house was clean and well presented and that the garden was appealing and well managed. I have always had pets those being cats, dogs, chickens, canaries, goldfish - although we do not presently have a pet as sadly our beautiful 14 year old dog Bosco passed away this year My husband is experienced in managing livestock as he was brought up on a farm. I know how to care for animals giving them time, exercise, fresh water and good food. I am also aware of the signs of when a pet is feeling unwell and when to take to the vet. Hi! Exciting times for me. I have recently retired from a busy career, and have just moved from Auckland. Contacts from friends has seen me recently complete two housesits of 2 weeks, and 3 weeks duration in Hawkes Bay. One with a dog, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs, 3 chooks, a rabbit and some fish; the other with a dog and a cat. Over the years I have been a house sitter, a home owner, and a renter. I am used to moving around as my career has seen me change location a number of times, as well as regular travel and overnight stays. I’m pet free at the moment. My job necessitated regular travel, meaning I couldn’t give the required care and attention to a pet. As a child we had a very much loved family cat. When I had my children we had 2 cats from kittens and they completed our household with their crazy antics. My experience with dogs has been with a farm dog early in marriage, and later with an adult golden Labrador who was great with the kids and an easy care dog. There has since been a gap. My brother in the Bay has a staffie, and I will be housesitting and caring for him for 4 days in April. Approximately 20 years ago I housesat over a year, mainly in Gisborne. One housesit was for 3 months overseeing a home that was on the market, keeping it viewing ready. I also for 4 years looked after a large home each Christmas which one year included feeding aviary pigeons. I’ve also in the Bay looked after a mother cat and kittens for 2 weeks. I will treat your home carefully. Love to look after cats and open to well behaved dogs. I can also care for chooks as often feed and collect eggs on my sons farm. My hobbies include casual walking and exploring new places. I’ve been a keen gardener in the past so am happy to water gardens and look after pots. Kia ora, we are Rosie and Taz. We have lived in New Zealand since winter of 2022 and have been professionally housesitting for the last 18 months. Rosie's father is from NZ and Taz has extended family who emigrated here many years ago. We plan to make our long term home in New Zealand. We also have lots of experience housesitting for friends and family be it an overnight stay or multiple weeks of sitting. We started housesitting as an option from living and travelling in our van around NZ but now have our own home in rural Kerikeri. We see housesitting as a great opportunity to explore NZ further and make some lovely furry friends along the way! We both work within landscaping and gardening. Taz has also worked as a builder and enjoys working on small building projects. Rosie has a Fine Art degree which she now uses to help inform her practice which is based mostly in upcycling textile waste and other materials. Between us we have a combined 14 years of experience within Festivals and Events which we have started to transition out of now we have our own home. Needless to say it made us both adaptable and resilient! A calm and collected approach to all challenges was needed - we carry that energy with us in all that we do. We find bonding with animals is often very easy and natural. In our personal lives we have cared for many dogs and cats in houseshares in the UK (where we lived previously) including rescuing and raising a GSD mix at 9 months old (Hank) between 4 friends. Hank is now 10 and thriving! We understand housesit-ees with rescue pets may have more concerns due to their pets rescue 'quirks' but want them to know we are very familiar with this territory. Patience and consistency are so important and we are happy to take on the routines needed so your pet is at their best while you are gone. Two weeks in 2013. was in Great Barrier Island, another friend who runs a retreat center called Wai Ora set on Medlands beach, this involved, keeping an eye on solar power system, security, garden, compost and the cat! Two weeks 2014. Other times in Auckland, while a friend visited UK, collected mail, fed cat, clean house, water plants, this lasted five weeks. At present restoring a colonial house in Leigh area, caring for cats, little goats, chickens and a dog, since then work has stopped. My latest Housesit was in Western Springs for ten days, the ginger cat Lucy had a stroke so needed a lot of care. Lucy loved to sleep on the bed with me, I loved having her close. The other cat Diesel was more independent. My other duties were watering the garden and collecting the mail. Also over the Xmas new year period I went to houses with sole purpose of feeding, patting and caring for four different cats. Also specialise in turtle minding, feeding for my son and his girlfriend. I am an animal lover who is kind and considerate who will care for your pets and house with love. Good morning/afternoon, I am a French 24-year-old guy, I was a civil engineer in France before coming to New Zealand - I arrived 3 months ago. I intend to visit the country from the end of February, and I am currently living in Wellington, where I currently work in security. I have been living in a proper flat with one kiwi flatmate for 2 months now. I want to visit New Zealand until mid-April, and then I will be looking for a job in Auckland. She is really (really) kind, friendly but also serious and tidy. She speaks better English than I do, as she arrived in the country 10 months ago. Furthermore, she is very familiar with NZ culture, landscapes, fauna and flora as she has been planning this trip for 4 years. Her job is a freelance graphic designer, so she is used to remote working. She has been a house sitter several times. She has also done some couch-surfing many times with good reviews.
