I’m a retired pet lover but because I often go to Auckland to visit family I can’t have a pet of my own. Because I am often in Auckland I could possibly be available for in person interviews for Auckland sits. I grew up in Auckland but have lived in Opotiki for 18 years and love it here. I don’t live in the township but in the very small beach suburb of Tirohanga, only one house back from the beach. There are 30 houses/baches and about half of them are holiday homes. Of the other half at least 40% are occupied by retired people. Lots of them have pets and I fill my animal craving by frequently visiting them. I’m even lucky enough to have a nearly daily visit from my neighbours cat, “Smoke” I can’t see the beach but at night I can hear the waves crashing. I’m physically fit and as I live near a beautiful beach I walk on the beach or cycle track daily. I do 20 to 40 minutes with the occasional 60 minutes thrown in for good luck. I love to read and play board or card games, especially word games. I’m enjoying my retirement but feel like I need to stretch myself a little and house sitting will do that. I’m a gregarious but also very happy with my own company as long as I have a book to read! I’m definitely conscious and reliable as my references will concur. I'm generally adventurous, I grew up as a farmer's daughter, so I appreciate animals and the environment. I have two adult children, one nearby in New Plymouth and the other in Australia. I recently returned from Australia where I had one house-sitting position and three woofing placements. My main past times are gardening, riding my electric bike, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the years I've had numerous significant pets. My first was a calf that I cared for and trained. Because of my fondness for her, my Father kept her until I was seventeen when I went to the Waikato to qualify as a Nurse. Another pet I was particularly fond of was a canary, which sang beautifully and I called him Gusto. Unfortunately, he died during covid. More recently I had a stray cat that determinedly made herself home with me. Pets are great companions and I appreciate them very much. I began house-sitting before retirement, and have cared for cats and dogs, plus a few sheep and a donkey. These situations have been for family, friends, and acquaintances for periods of almost a week to a month.

I enjoy house-sitting - helping others, particularly with pets and garden so that they feel better about being away from home. I have been house-sitting, almost continuously since January 2023. So far, no problems with any of the pets! Walking dogs and throwing ball for them - especially the large ones. Cats usually end up on the bed (at my feet) I really don't mind. I see this as assisting owners while they are away so they do not have some of the problems (and costs) of boarding for their pets. Cats, dogs (including walks), birds, chooks, fish - all OK. Prepared to handle others as well as long as it is not too difficult. I am honest, trustworthy and loyal but the real expectation is that I will deal confidently and lovingly for your pets (and garden, if required). As far as possible, all actions will be based on the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, with the full understanding that where decisions need to be made in a hurry, these can only be based on expectations of a reasonable person under the circumstances. I only need a comfortable bed and the essential cooking facilities. Preferably uncapped internet - not that I watch movies but sometimes it is easier to use TV streaming if 'walkies' coincides with a program that I might like to watch. We are semi-retired and are keen to visit different parts of the country and explore at our leisure. We have had a cat or cats in our lives for the last 30 plus years and recently had to have our 19 year old cat put to sleep which saddened us greatly. We had a dog many years ago and Colin had dogs prior to our relationship. We are kind and know how much animals/pets are a huge part of the family and are much loved. We know we always worried about our animals when away and how important it was to us to know they were well cared for. We are both employed on a casual, part time basis, Colin as Bar Manager at the Waipa Workingmen's Club and as a school bus driver. Chrissy has a contract with the Hamilton City Council serving on their District Licensing Committee. We have undertaken a number of private housesits for friends and have looked after cats, dogs and chickens. We are a semi-retired couple who like to take breaks away from our busy life in Raglan. I have various volunteer roles here, plus grandchildren, and Robin is a trauma therapist working from home - he retired from a medical career in 2020. We have used house sitters for our own home when we used to travel overseas for work and appreciated the security it gave us while we were away, knowing that our home and pets would be lovingly cared for. We would be very happy to provide this for other people. We are both very clean and tidy - we take pride in having a lovely comfortable home. My husband is also very handy (he also has an engineering background which helps here) and can usually fix almost anything! I love to cook, and enjoy gardening, walking and exploring new places. We also enjoy reading and various crafts. We have a cat, and three chickens at the moment. We have had a dog in the past (a beautiful border collie) but he passed away some time ago and because we were travelling a fair bit at that time we haven't got another dog.

My old cat required a daily diabetes injection and regular blood sugar tests so I am happy to carry out this if required. I love gardening so am happy to do any required. I was born in Christchurch. I lived 26 yrs in NZ and now 40+ in California. I go home to NZ once or twice a year. I have just said goodby to my 15 year old Mini Pinscher that I rescued at 1yr old. He was very active and we walked twice a day. I volunteered for the Golden Retriever rescue for 6 years interviewing adopters, walking the goldens, and picking up very frightened golden's from shelters to bring into our rescue. I have always had a cat, the biggest love of them was 19 when he passed on. I have a 5 yr old rescue black cat. I also grew up with chooks. I am a competent horse rider and will consider looking after most animals. Would love to throw on my gum boots and head out to the paddock to cover a horse or move an animal to another paddock. I am a Scottish country dancer and like to walk, garden, read and knit. I am willing to go anywhere in NZ and would prefer a rural setting. In July we are returning after 5 years working in Bangkok at an international school. Before we left NZ we sold our home and did 3 house sits before leaving the country. They all went very well. We have travelled internationally for both business and family overseas, as well as extensively throughout New Zealand, and having lived long spells in Wellington, Auckland and now retired to Bay of Plenty. With the family overseas, often our time away has been for up to 3 months, and on those occasions we have had friends and others staying at our home. Kia ora Introduction of who we are, Jen and Don Smart, we live in New Plymouth in our house we built 5 years ago. Both born and bred here but have lived in many places, more recently Wanganui and Wellington. Jen works as an Office Manager, for the last 6 plus years. Don has recently retired and spends his time building and maintenance around the section. Our interests are gymming, biking, walking, swimming, learning Te Reo, volunteer work in Community cafe, listening to music, entertaining and life in general! Jen runs the community cafe and a support group for Motor Neurone Disease. More importantly are our fur babies! We are now down to one older male cat, Rimu, who is 18 this year and still in great shape. Our little dog Maisie died of old age last year at the age of 17yrs. We miss her daily walks and being our 'grandchild' as we don't have any! Over the years we have had many animals as we ran a lifestyle block in Wanganui which had sheep, lambs, cattle, a dexter cow, chooks, a german shepherd, a cat, and not to forget...bees. But being vegetarian none of the animals were killed to be eaten, most died of old age eventually! When we moved back to New Plymouth we had three cats and Maisie the dog but now down to the one boy. Eventually no doubt once Rimu is gone we will look at another animal as we have always had them in our lives. Our reason for house sitting? Our only child, Madeleine, 27yrs old, has moved back to Wellington and we like to visit often but it's good to have our own space when there. We tend to go for walks and bike rides when we visit and swims at the Freyberg. We did use a b n b a couple of times but felt a bit intrusive. The thought of looking after someone else's pets and have somewhere to stay sounded inviting to us. Plus going forward we would like to spend more time around Aotearoa New Zealand and going forward it might be a rewarding thing to do. Hope this small blurb tells you a bit about us. I arrived in back NZ early 2022 after spending 19 years in Canada. My husband passed away in 2021. Quite the battle to get into MIQ to return home, with the lotto draw they installed !!! I house sat before leaving for Canada in Omokoroa and Mount Maunganui. One was an Avocado Orchard and they had 70 Parrots in aviaries on the property, such fun. I have been the proud owner of 5 rescue Old English Sheepdogs.. not all at the same time !!!! so I know about grooming. My last dog Boomer was 116lbs, (52.5kg) a big strong boy and the light of our lives. In 2020 we started to foster dogs brought up from Texas from the "high kill" pounds. Copper was our first, A Walker Coon Hound... never heard of them before and what a delight with his howl. I will leave your home as you left it though I do enjoy gardening and cleaning windows... I have especially enjoyed all their different gardens and also getting to know them all. For 19 years I managed our 100 acre beef farm while my husband did contract work while also home educating our 4 children. We want to be itinerant until the beginning of May, about 2 months in a van. We are therefore looking for pet sitting/house sitting missions for about 3 weeks from the beginning of May to the end of May, we are flexible for the dates end of April-mid May :) We see this experience as a global immersion in a local life with the little extra thing of being able to take care of animals. We are a recently retired professional Australian couple, Peter an officer in the Navy and then Tasmanian state public service and Kaylee a Social Worker/Counsellor and keen to spend more time in NZ now that we have kiwi Grandchildren. I began house sitting on a casual basis but since 2016 I’ve been doing it full-time, apart from a few interruptions from 2020 to 2022 due to Covid restrictions. I love the house sitting lifestyle and the regular change of scenery it offers. Not only that, but I get a lot of satisfaction in knowing that I’m providing a valuable community service, because the homeowners get to go away reassured that their pets are living relaxed and safe in their own homes instead of dodgy kennels and catteries, and also that their houses are being watched over and safeguarded from the crims. I thus know what it’s like to hand the keys over to other people, and trusting them to look after your property while they’re living there. My preferred locations are rural and coastal properties, though I do enjoy the occasional suburban assignment for a change. I don’t charge a cent to look after houses, pets, or lifestyle blocks. I never have and I never will. For me, house sitting is all about the lifestyle. My ‘payment’ comes in the form of free accommodation, free use of the utilities, and free access to the vegetable garden and orchard. I can’t justify charging fees on top of all that. The only times I would invoice the home owners is if I’m looking after a commercial business of theirs, such as a Bed & Breakfast, orchard, or working farm, or if I’m undertaking some ‘improvement’ projects for them, such as painting the wooden deck or planting new trees – things like that. With over 19 years experience under my belt, there’s very little about house sitting I don’t know. It's only relatively recently that I joined the House Sitting Company, but I have loads of verifiable references, with nearly 60 reviews on another house sitting website. I am a full time Mum (with a background in Event Management), my husband owns his own building company. Although we don't own a lot of pets (currently two cats), we love animals! We are very caring by nature and very frequently visit friends farms in Wanganui who have a wide range of pets/farm animals which our girls love to experience. Sometimes myself and the girls would house sit, other times my husband would also join us (depending when the visiting falls in the calendar as my husband is a full time builder so can't always join us on school holidays). Homeowners can expect honest, reliable, communicative, kind sitters from the Singleton family. Our girls are also very respectful and tidy and absolutely love nothing more than 'playing house' when we go on holiday. I believe this would be replicated if we were to house sit. During our time living and studying in Auckland we used to house sit for a family friend who lived in Herne Bay. This included looking after their dog Cappuccino. We loved it! We lived in a small apartment in the city, so it felt like such a treat staying in a Herne Bay house with a dog. Recently my 15 coloured sheep and their new lambs have been sold. Caring for others (humans and animals) is what I do best.. Until his recent death I cared for my 86 yr old family friend who had health problems. This enabled him to remain living in his own home. I supported him with his pet dog care, shopping, finances, house work, gardening and companionship for the last 10 years on a regular basis. I’m a tidy, quiet, non drinker, non smoker vegan and very reliable. Hobbies are reading, walking, cycling, travel and gardening. Family is important to me so I like visiting my 4 siblings and my 4 children. I have my own car and drivers licence so should your pet become ill during your absence I can easily take them to your designated Vet for treatment. Aside from 15 years as a dairy farmer and 20 years as a landlord my working life has included responsible professional roles of legal secretary and banking consultant which are proof of my high degree of honesty, integrity and excellent communication. We are a professional couple taking time out from work to travel and spend time with family. We are 58 and 59-years-old, have been married for 39 years and have three grown up children. We have over 15 years experience caring for and loving pets whilst their Mum and Dad are away. Over these years we have been in lots of different house/pet-sitting situations. One of our first pet sits was for a gorgeous old Collie dog who had diabetes and needed daily injections. He also had two sisters who were cats and we looked after them all for many years. We started house sitting over ten years ago as a friend had 7 cats and was travelling for five months. We have cared for these cats over many years since. During this time, we have had to give medication, visit the vet and as the years progressed look after their personal care needs much more. We have also sat for three dogs for many years; a black Labrador, Chihuahua and a Border Terrier. We are both extremely, kind, loving and practical and have ensured that pets are cared for in the same way we care for our own pets. We treat your babies the same way as we treat our own, giving them our time and immense affection and kindness. We are both at home all day so can give your pets all the attention they need. We love animals and have also spent some time helping look after pigs, hens and horses. I was a Trustee for a small city farm and my husband managed areas of the same farm. We are asked again and again to house sit because we are careful to keep your house beautiful and send regular pictures and updates of how happy your pets are. I always cook a meal for the returning home owner and replenish their fridge. My husband is extremely able around the house and land and people are happy to see their grounds kept well. I am a very fit and active retiree. I left the workforce eight years ago to travel to various parts of the world, including some of NZ which I hadn’t yet been to. I have been involved in sport all my life and interested in organics and sustainabilities for many years, so decided to become a Woofer (Willing Worker On Organic Farms). I have thoroughly enjoyed all my placements in NZ, Australia, USA and Portugal. I have visited places and met people that I would never had the chance as a tourist and learnt about growing fruits, vegetables and raising animals in an totally organic and sustainable manner. I have looked after many animals and learnt how to give back to the land for future harvests. Six years ago in 2018 I bought a lifestyle property in the Far North, so have not been able to travel as much, or house sit as I used to, while working hard on my land. Now however I have more spare time, & look forward to being able to travel in NZ. I currently work on my orchard of 100+ trees of every description imaginable, & 4 large vegetable plots. I farm totally organically, eat in season, & am self sufficient(++) with fruit, vegetables & eggs from my 5 chickens. I am able to swap my excesses for milk, meat, cheese & bread! I feel very fortunate. I also have extra acreage which I use for growing grass, (local farmer makes hay in summer). I have also done two caminos (long walks) in both France, and Portugal into Spain. These were 750 and 700km respectively, in 2014 & 2017. My most recent was from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. I have been a proud homeowner since 1980. As a house sitter, you will have someone with old fashion values of care & respect for your property, a good work ethic, totally reliable & honest. As for pets, when my children were growing up, we had a Staffordshire bull terrier, rabbits, cats, cockatiel and baby goats. Currently I have 5 chickens. While woofing I have looked after lots of dogs, cats, goats (learnt to milk), chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, and loved all those times. My woofing hosts would sometimes leave me to house sit at weekends, or in one case, for 10 days when an unavoidable event happened. On that occasion I looked after a small farmlet of goats, cows chickens, vegetable garden, orchard....the entire property. I loved the challenge and was totally equal to the task of overall management. I love outdoors work. Obviously I enjoy walking, so dogs love me for their twice daily long walks. Their 'babies' were well loved & looked after. Mick is a keen diver and loves to get out in the garden, Tracey used to be a professional cleaner so keeping a home sparkling clean is my thing - I also love mowing lawns. We both love to walk and do lengthier hikes & can be found in the mornings trying to beat each other at Wordle & Quordle. We are both people who take pride and care not only in our home (including the grounds) but any home we visit or stay in. We absolutely both respect your home is your castle, that your pets are your joy and we want you to go away knowing we will love your animals and care for them & your house (and grounds if required) so you can just relax. Im a keen and active rugby player in England and I have worked and saved hard to travel to New Zealand for your summer. I work in a dog friendly hotel in many high responsibility roles such as, office work, resident management, general maintenance of rooms and gardening, barman and management of deliveries. A 'jack' of all trades, no pun intended! In these positions, personal hygiene is a must and something i personally take pride in. As we are a dog friendly hotel, even when I am at work I am still providing and caring for dogs. At home I take care of 3 dogs, a young puppy a middle child and a senior dog who requires extra attention. she takes regular medication which I administer and monitor. she recently had a large swelling in her face, a cyst of sorts which meant the use of other specialist antibiotics and ointments had to be used. Growing up I have never been without dogs and have lots of experience taking care of them. I am very active with them with regular walks. I love spending time with dogs and would like to have the opportunity to have this companionship along my travels. I will not be working in the time of house sitting arrangements so I will have plenty of time to spend with your pets should they be used to/need a lot of attention. we have a resident cat at the hotel as well which I am responsible for too. In terms of house care I am used to living on my own, washing, cleaning, bins, Laundry etc, so your house will be in safe hands along with your pets. After retiring, I started and taught a Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Class at a Hawaii High School. We then moved to Billings, Montana, where we lived from 1996 to 2001. When our youngest of two children graduated from high school, we moved to rural Montana and built a log home, where we have lived since 2001. We have1 dog (miniature poodle), and numerous outdoor cats. I have also had birds (cockatiel, parakeet, finch & canary), guinea pigs and fish as pets. David also has a knowledge of beef cattle, goats, ducks, and chickens. My hobbies include vegetable gardening, bird watching, and needlework. David's main hobby is wood working. He works part time as a ranch hand and does odd jobs such as carpentry, plumbing and repairs. He has worked at farming for local ranches and has knowledge and can repair most farm machinery. We both spent 12 years as members of the local volunteer fire department, he as chief, and me as secretary treasurer. I also ran the weekly senior meal program in our small community for 17 years. Our son is a resident of New Zealand who met his New Zealand wife in Osan Korea. They live in Dunedin where he works at the University of Otago, and she is a teacher at a local school. This will be our fifth visit to New Zealand, and we have seen a lot of the country in the previous 3 visits. My sons' children are 20, 18, and 16. They live at the University. We would love to take care of your pets and home while you are away and while we are in NZ visiting my son and his family. We arrive the end of January 11, 2025 and will leave March 2, 2025. Growing up, my family had a Samoyed dog and two cats. My father was also the local dog walker and I often walked the dogs as well. We are a healthy and fit couple in our late 60s (non-smokers), originally from The Netherlands, who have sold our home last year. Currently we are waiting for our new apartment in Northcote (Auckland) to be completed (expected settlement early 2025) and looking after other people’s houses has proven to be a great way to bridge that period and to have a change of scenery after we’ve moved into our new apartment. We have quite a number very successful house sits already and loved the experience. We ran a Homestay/B&B in Wellington for more than 6 years, so we are experienced with looking after accommodation and we know the importance of keeping a house clean, tidy and well presented! We have always taken pride in our house, which was very obvious when the real estate agent who sold our current house remarked that she wished everybody’s house looked like this. Jos is retired, while Lucien still works full-time as a software developer from home, so at least one of us will always be there to keep your dog company. A fast and reliable internet connection is the only ‘must’. We have had dogs and cats ourselves - Golden Retrievers for many years, and a sweet little Cavoodle for the last 12 years (who sadly passed away last year) - and we have been looking after cats, dogs, houses and the occasional chicken for months now, so we know how to care for animals, and are happy to care for yours. I am a professional employee with a leading NZ fund manager who deals with private clients, and I now live in Hawkes Bay after living in Auckland for over 20 years, so I am familiar with the city. I also work from Wellington at times where I rent a property for which I pay an extremely reasonable rent largely because I'm a very good careful tenant. I am married with 3 children but when coming to Auckland I travel with my twin boys aged 11. I am house proud, the owner of a villa with a pool and my boys respect other people's property and are very much "look but don't touch". I have no hesitation or worries about them respecting other people's property. I prefer staying in a home as opposed to somewhere like a motel as I prefer peace and quiet. Last year we stayed in someone's home with 2 cats and fish. I have lived in a home with dogs and cats at various stages and was brought up on a farm so enjoy animals and don't mind walking the dog or whatever has to be done. I think I'm very responsible, treating other people's homes as I treat my own home. I was brought up that way so it's just normal behaviour. I'm observant and notice things easily. If AKL has torrential rain check windows, drains and for any leaks etc. Don't leave the house with windows open, bring in rubbish bins, water plants if that needs doing, take your shoes off. After attending to the house and any chores we normally go out and return later to have diner and then the boys are on their iPads. We have a relaxing time and enjoy being together. We don't usually entertain guests when house sitting as we go out visiting family and friends. I'm careful in the kitchen, not accident prone and don't have difficulty following any instructions. I don't smoke or partake in drugs and drink very little. Most of my time is taken up with the children and all their activities, work and maintaining the house and garden. Outside of that I like all types of music, history, movies and of course the iPad!

Jenny is also a keen gardener, enjoys both an exercise/social group and a craft group, volunteers regularly at Good Neighbour Food Rescue, and loves being involved with a Music and Movement group for preschoolers and their Mums. We both belong to Probus, and are also rostered on for several roles at our church. When I was married and we bought our first house, having pets was a top priority. After 3 years we had 3 cats (Tabby, Tina and Kate) and 2 Beagles (Tony and Lucy). I have mainly worked in Computer and Project environments but after studying one year part time for an Animal Care certificate I worked 5 days a week in my normal job and 1 day at a well established and reputable Vet clinic in Remuera. By this stage I was divorced and the family consisted of the beagles, Tabby and me. I have also been a volunteer kennel assistant at SPCA. I am comfortable giving medication to pets and have looked after cats, dogs, birds, fish and rats. All of my animals have lived a happy and long life. Tony suffered from cancer later in his life but with care and chemo from VSG and at home he got a new lease of life and was with me for another 2 years of quality time. I no longer have pets of my own so I would really love the opportunity to care for yours, either outside of Auckland when I ready for a break or in Auckland for a 'staycation' I am mature, responsible, respectful and resourceful. Kia ora, we are Rosie and Taz. We have lived in New Zealand since winter of 2022 and have been professionally housesitting for the last 18 months. Rosie's father is from NZ and Taz has extended family who emigrated here many years ago. We plan to make our long term home in New Zealand. We also have lots of experience housesitting for friends and family be it an overnight stay or multiple weeks of sitting. We started housesitting as an option from living and travelling in our van around NZ but now have our own home in rural Kerikeri. We see housesitting as a great opportunity to explore NZ further and make some lovely furry friends along the way! We both work within landscaping and gardening. Taz has also worked as a builder and enjoys working on small building projects. Rosie has a Fine Art degree which she now uses to help inform her practice which is based mostly in upcycling textile waste and other materials. Between us we have a combined 14 years of experience within Festivals and Events which we have started to transition out of now we have our own home. Needless to say it made us both adaptable and resilient! A calm and collected approach to all challenges was needed - we carry that energy with us in all that we do. We find bonding with animals is often very easy and natural. In our personal lives we have cared for many dogs and cats in houseshares in the UK (where we lived previously) including rescuing and raising a GSD mix at 9 months old (Hank) between 4 friends. Hank is now 10 and thriving! We understand housesit-ees with rescue pets may have more concerns due to their pets rescue 'quirks' but want them to know we are very familiar with this territory. Patience and consistency are so important and we are happy to take on the routines needed so your pet is at their best while you are gone. After having to move out of my second rental house in a year (due to the landlords wanting to sell), I decided to give house sitting a go to save some money to eventually buy a house of my own, so I don't have to go through the same dilemma again! Having grown up in both urban & rural environments we are constantly asked to look after peoples pets & homes and if it wasn't for the need for us to relocate up to Auckland we would certainly be settled with some pets of our own. We moved up to Auckland to pursue some career opportunities which came up somewhat out of the blue and hence we have decided to make the move with only our suitcases to our name and house sitting enables us to save some money on rent and have fun looking after some wonderful animals. We have been together for over 10 years, originally from being swept up in the Rugby World Cup spirit in 2011, before following the All Blacks to England & Japan in 2015 / 2019, and we now have our eyes set on heading to France in the 2023 Rugby World Cup - hence our need to save our pennies! My girlfriend is obsessed with cats plus loves playing with dogs and I myself one day dream of owning a Dachshund once we end up in a more permanent home - which doesn't sound like it will be anytime soon as we have a move to Wellington on the cards in April 2022 (for work) and are currently looking for opportunities to continue house sitting there. I am currently slave to 3 cats of my own. :-) I have done a few pet-sitting gigs over the holidays which I really enjoyed. The welfare of the pets in the household is of great importance to me. I actually can't remember a time when I didn't have several pets in my home, so I am very accustomed to looking after pets and very much enjoy it. I have no interest in parties, and value my personal space and quiet time. Any home owner that chooses me can expect their property to be in exactly the same condition it was in when they first went away. They can also expect their pets to be well looked after and happy, If the well-being of their pets is of some concern, then I am more than happy to provide daily updates and photos via email, text or social media. I recently rented out my home and moved in with family , and have been housesitting for friends, colleagues and other relatives and have been enjoying the flexibility of having a base but also being able to move about . I also enjoy looking after pets as having a pet at my current residence is not possible so it's nice to have pet responsibilities but not the commitment of a forever pet. I have some regular house sits that I do where I feel like part of the family. As well as dogs, cats ,chickens and small pets I also enjoy looking after children. I am a fulltime secondary teacher, I teach a range of different subjects from Drama, English , History and Geography. I'm reliable , honest, approachable, clean , pay attention to detail which i think makes me an ideal house & pet sitter. Antoine remotely works for a company based in Dunedin. Antoine's flexibility for work means he can travel around a bit. We currently live in Warkworth. We are a reliable, honest, caring couple who are young enough to cope with most pet care and home care situations, but mature enough to be settled, secure and wise house sitters. We care for the homes and pets like they were ours. We have been housesitting for about 5 years ( with another housesitting site) and have used the time to visit family, see other parts of the country, become more flexible and meet some really lovely pets and their owners. We have been rated highly with each sit we have had and had many repeat offers to housesit. We have sold our house in the North island and are relocating to Kaiapoi at the end of September. We would love to sit in the Canterbury region between 6 August and 25 September (currently working through 3 housesits in Wellington - one is the third time we have sat for them.). We are a very caring, loving and responsible pair with pets and homes alike. We follow the owners guidelines for the pets comfort and routine. We walk dogs as often as their owners request and will care for their animals in the best way we can. We leave the home exactly as we find it, if not better. We have owned a dog and two cats. For my trip throughout New Zealand, I will be travelling with my French partner I have actually met here in Wellington. She is Audrey, a 26-year-old girl. She is really (really) kind, friendly but also serious and tidy. She speaks better English than I do, as she arrived in the country 10 months ago. Furthermore, she is very familiar with NZ culture, landscapes, fauna and flora as she has been planning this trip for 4 years. Her job is a freelance graphic designer, so she is used to remote working. She has been a house sitter several times. She has also done some couch-surfing many times with good reviews. Currently, I'm based in Broad Bay, Dunedin as the Caselberg Trust artist in residence (March - May). I'll be at the Caselberg house until early June and have some time to explore the South Island before heading back to Wellington for another house-sitting opportunity in Roseneath late July. Whether at home or house-sitting, I'm a quiet, respectful, and creative person, finding joy in pursuits like photography, hiking, and mountain biking. Prior to my time in Australia, I taught Visual Art at Wellington East Girls College. Later, I transitioned into community arts, focusing on remote areas of northwest Australia. From 2012 to 2019, I worked full-time at Mowanjum Art and Culture Centre, eventually co-curating the Mowanjum Museum while also teaching at Derby District High School. Nestled near the famed Gibb River Road, I own a 10-acre property teeming with bushland and diverse wildlife. House-sitting is something I do often in New Zealand, with stays in various Wellington suburbs like Island Bay, Evans Bay, Eastbourne, and Wainuiomata. My reputation as an Airbnb guest is positive, with excellent reviews from homeowners in both New Zealand and Australia. As I travel frequently, I am unable to have any pets of my own. However, I regularly care for two cats in Wellington, a British Blue, and my 104-year-old grandmother's cat, Jetty. In the Kimberley, I've looked after two Australian cattle dogs named Bonnie and Clyde when their owner needed to travel to Perth for medical treatments. Growing up, our family had a mischievous and much-loved Golden Retriever called Ben. Later, I had Mingus, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Rottweiler cross. Although no longer practicing, it may be of some comfort to know that I studied Animal Nursing part-time over two years (1996 - 1997), during which time I worked in two veterinary clinics before embarking on overseas travels. This was some time ago but it's worth a mention as it demonstrates an interest in animal welfare.

We are retired and are fit and young at heart. We have been house sitting for the last three years, both in New Zealand and Australia. We are super tidy, especially my wife! and we love pets. Until we traveled abroad for career purposes, we always had pets and dog for the family. When the children were little we had a pooch, black and fluffy for about 14 years, growing up they had the company of a black Labrador. Coming to Fiji we looked after our friends dog for 2 years, a large doberman, one that would lick you to death! And just lately again to help out friends going overseas for 12 months a beautiful German Sheppard and the cat, both couldn't live without the other, and together they provided most of the entertainment! I love walking, and it just isn't the same without a best friend. We know pets love routine, and we will enjoy to fit in with your regular way of looking after them. We are used to having pets, enjoy spending time with pets, and understand their needs of companionship. We have six children, all grown up with their own family. Having had a significant overseas and New Zealand based career, we have had the benefit of high end company homes to live in. References on how we looked after these homes are readily available.
